"In South Carolina. Hello, Chris. Hey, Paul, this is a long time, no talk. Well, how are you? Good to hear from you. Man, I'm doing all right. Paul, you had all the questions saying quiet. Why you always gotta pick it now, man. Come on, man. We're not really doing anything other than reacting to what he said, Chris. You're coaching your SSC covers. You think you're so God, Molly? He said it's all right now today. Yes, you praised him. So why you better double for him? You still sort of. You still mad about that. A couple of years ago said that college football would pay players over his dead body. Well, it looks like he's still around. Doesn't it? Yeah, I understand that, but I've never really felt dabba was I think Davos very antiquated in his thinking. And I think you're seeing that. I mean, he's a young guy, but he sounds like but you see, doesn't he? Yeah, that's why he goes question. Get off my arm, man. Man, we got enough problems in your own league, man. Why y'all are gonna talk about that? But nobody in the SEC cares about Clemson, okay? I mean, they're yesterday's news. Let us enjoy your show. Well, I apologize to you, but we thought it was a pretty important story, but we won't talk about dabble anymore. I know it upsets you because Clemson is no longer there. We're going this year. Let's talk about that. You keep saying South Carolina this year and next, so you better get ready for it. But we ain't. We ain't. I'm gonna tell you how this right here, but you got a lot to talk about this year. But at this time, just give that one break, man. Come on. Okay, Chris, we don't want to lose you to the ACC show. Hey, may will I back on door? We might listen to power fireball. Hey, listen, you're entitled to listen to anybody you want in the morning. But we want you to follow. I'm just giving you a hard time you're the best, man. Hey Chris, thank you. Yeah, listen. This is not just an SEC show. We appreciate Clemson fans coming over here in the afternoon. There's nowhere else to go. Let's go to CJ in Virginia. Hello, CJ. Hey, Paul's good to talk to you again. It's been a while since I've called. Thank you for taking my call. Hey, I call some of the beer talk earlier. I've got to say my first experience with beer I was a little kid, my dad let me take a sip of this shall it. Which is absolutely. Yeah. I think it's just beer, but it's like the worst deer literally ever made. I mean, is that still around? I don't think. I don't think so. What I was about to say. I don't think I could just say as a caller, it's not even, it's like a different food group. Okay, it's the worst beer because I tried it again when I was a little bit older. And it compared to the fine beers we got now, it's just absolutely anyway, that was my first experience with the beard yesterday was akin to drinking turpentine. Yeah, it was, I don't know. But anyway, listen, no, I have to call. I just wanted to call, of course, I'm repping hill shoe wrapping LSU as always. Sure. I did listen to one of your shows about a month or so ago and there was a talk about it was coming off the fire in a little way. In the sanctions potential sanctions coming down from the NCAA, prime wanted their last times to be able to do anything to any school. But the thing about lack of institutional control, I really have confidence. We do not have that. I know on paper it looks that way, but I mean, Scott Woodward's only been there two years. So, I mean, he can't just walk in there and fire him. I suspect the basketball program, it's already been hammered. I mean, what else can you do, but lose everybody you have. That's enough of a penalty, I don't think the school will suffer from that aspect of it. The basketball program will, though. And as long as at this point, you just have to take your lumps and hope the basketball program survives in a couple of years. The rest of the program. Yeah. You know what, you don't want it to filter over though. That's the goal. Yeah, no, I think if you look at all the coaches, I mean, it's just first class. I think everything could be fine. And also earlier in the show, you talk a lot again about the NIL and a and M's number class. I've said it before, I say it again. You can mark my words. That number one class is they are a and M is going to slowly lose that class because I guarantee all them 5 stars and four stars when they're not starting and there are two or three of the other schools will immediately start picking them off. And LSU is going to be one of them. They're going to say, look, thanks, CJ, another hour to go..

"But in that particular case, I was being very real. I mean, the easiest thing in the world to say, oh, I love stetson Bennett. I thought he was great last year, and he's going to be even better this year. Ball. The guy was America's best part of the mirror, Paul. I wouldn't bet against Tiger. Well, I would have, and so would you. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Paul, you bet, yes. And you told the truth, you got nothing to be embarrassed about. So let me break it down to you, Georgia. Let me break it down real good to you. And times that you may understand, this is for red doo doo, mad lazy poodle, and all you, Georgia bulldogs. It's over. It's over. There's only one team. One freaking team. I asked the LSU tigers that get 14 or 15 players drafted in the NFL and come back the next year and win a national championship. It is the king, the Muhammad Ali college football, baby. It is the Alabama crimson tide. It's over. Enjoy it. It's done. We're moved on to another season. Now Paul, I'm pissed off, dude. I'm pissed off. You know why? No, why? Baseball season. I'm a Oreo fan. I don't opening day. I was already 20 games out of first place ball. I hate baseball. And I said, you know what? I'm just really, I'm not ready for this. No, I hate freaking baseball. It's not America's pastime. It's America's disgrace. Listen MLB and I'll never mention you again. Until everything has an eagle financial playing field, you are a frigging joke. You are not America's past time. You are America's disgrace. What's happening in Pittsburgh with the pirates and Baltimore with the Orioles, it is a disgrace to Jim Palmer and Roberto committees and I wish you would stay on strike forever. Now, Paul, let me say this. I just got word from the championship trophy of center. They built me a fine bomb championship trophy and I need your permission to put your head on top of my trophy. Can I have it? Legend, you have anything you want in the fine bomb show arsenal? Well, your head is going to be on top of my Chapman ship trophy, my 2022 fine bob championship trophy to find bomb head is going to be on top of a brother. I'd love it. And listen, they can only be won. Not 54. And I was just reading page 54, to lose no doubt, yes. And would you imagine a picture of the Miami hurricanes? Let me tell you something, KD, KB or whatever the hell your name is. You ought to be awake forest hater. You ought to be a Syracuse hater. You ought to be a Florida state hater. Everybody has warped your ass. I still remember Keith Jackson saying, Thomas has loose. Thomas is running down the sideline. Oh no. Like a boat of lightning. Two and three catches him. Takes the ball. Chelsea's face in the dirt that dynasty is destroyed. Damn right you hate me because I'm the king, dude. And you always hate the king. When you're a relevant child, like to you, I'll thank you so hard to you won't be cheering for the you. You'll be cheering for the oh. Legend out. The legend never failing to deliver. Eric is up next in Georgia. Hey, Paul. That's a fake red dog guy. Made a great argument as to why Georgia could win the national championship. If stenson Bennett is not the quarterback. Let's hear it. How did the four candidates, he's clearly the least talented. And I can't imagine that he's holding the job by the end of the season. I also agree with you, he made an egregious error coming back because if Georgia doesn't win, he's going to get the blame for it. And he will no longer be the darling of Athens, he'll be the foe that the reason why Georgia didn't win this year. You know, Eric, if you look at the history of mankind, there have been a number of people who have had masterpieces and continued on. Beethoven, da Vinci, Picasso, Michelangelo. I mean, you don't know, because it's not Beethoven, a lot of his works became more famous later in his life. Same for Bach, aimed for other great composers, great artists. What I'm trying to say is stetson Bennett knew he threw up a masterpiece that night in Indianapolis. There was nothing else he could do and he still came back, he's entitled to it. He earned it. Cliche, whatever you want to say. But all I said this morning was, and I'll continue to say it. I'm troubled by it. I don't want to see anything, unfortunate happened to his college experience. And you've you know what's behind him? Well, I think people are giving him too much way too much credit for why Georgia won last year. It was because of the cast around him. It's going to be like that again this year, but I can no way envision that Georgia repeats if he is the starting quarterback. Just no, well, you know, as the caller a few weeks ago, minutes ago who said he should be the Heisman. He should win the Heisman. He's got a good cast around him, but he needs more than a couple of good receivers. And I just don't think George will have that. Hey, thank you very much for the call. I appreciate it. We head to the break more of your phone calls right after this. You are listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. And.

"They move up large in the college football playoff rankings coming out on Tuesday. Second Iowa Wisconsin, after what I saw from Iowa against perdue, I don't know if I can ever pick them. If Sean Clifford would have finished out against that game against Penn State, they would have lost that game too. Now they got blown out by perdue. Now they're at Iowa. I mean, at Wisconsin, Wisconsin to me, not as strong as they were, but they're a decent four and three team and they just be perdue at her do. They're winning games. And guess what? Somehow, this game right now is for like first place in the division. This would not Iowa really awful lot. I'm going with Wisconsin. I'm going with the badgers to win this game, I believe they win it. It can't Randle stadium. I don't have big faith in grand merge or patriots on the Wisconsin side. I don't think any of these quarterbacks are good. I think this will be a defensive battle of attrition. But I think it Wisconsin can put up more points in Iowa when they feel like it. Texas Baylor, oh, I've got to feel probably delusional. I'm Texas to win this one in Texas has let me down so many times, the Arkansas game and others, I mean, baelor 6 and one, but I've liked the explosiveness. I've seen from Texas. It's just him a hold onto a lead and keep it and win the game. I don't know. I think Steve's artesian can do it. I know the first year, you're building towards it, but you need key wins. This is a key win in a tough environment at Baylor. I like Steve sarkesian to get it. Georgia, Florida, arm rooting heavily. For Florida, miscarry, I want Georgia to lose. Having one loss on my record, however, I don't think that'll happen. Georgia has the best defense to me by far in the country. The defensive line is great. The secondary is great. Instead some benefits playing good. I don't think they need JT Daniels as the guy right now. They're running game as good. Everything's just complementary, and it'll be too much for Florida to overcome who has a quarterback situation of your own between Emory Jones or Anthony Richardson. So I think that'll be too much Georgia wins the game. Texas tech Oklahoma, I want to pick a globe and a win big, however, I've seen enough from Oklahoma this season to say, I don't know if you'll ever win big. I'll pick Oklahoma to win though. I don't care who's at quarterback spinster rattler kill Williams. It seems like they always pull the rabbit out of the hat. One last magic trick to win the game. That's what Oklahoma does and they've been doing it this year. I don't think Texas tech can upset Oklahoma. Even though one of these times I pick Oklahoma, they'll lose. I just feel it. Old miss and auburn, I'm surprised how much support is for auburn in this game. I know auburn's a good team, but to me, I've seen so many bad performances. But one against Georgia, you know, Penn State was decent and LSU. They could have lost, but to me, almost is a better team. I like Matt carral. To me, he's a favorite to win the Heisman. So I'm going with the better quarterback. I know it's an away game in a tough environment. Both teams are really looking to keep hopes alive. And the winner of this game.

"Passer rating. This just kind of feels like Penn State might be in a gunfight with only a slingshot. And I'm just not going to back Penn State in this situation. I can't do it. Yeah, I mean, you've seen Penn State's offense really fall off a cliff. They muster 28 points against auburn. When you're looking at some of the tougher opponents that they face, they hung 24 in Indiana in a shutout of the hoosiers. 20 against Iowa, of course that was the game or Clifford got hurt and then 18 against Illinois. So trending in the wrong direction. And when you look at the ground game that you spoke of, I mean, Noah Kane averaging a shade more than three yards per carry. You know, kevon Lee is supposed to be their change of pace guy. He's been a little bit better, but just can't handle a strong workload. So if Sean Clifford isn't an able and willing runner in this particular spot, I just don't think there are the playmakers there. Then you add in the factor that I think is impossible to ignore as you handicap pen state going forward. James Franklin changing agents in the middle of the season. In my opinion, not to negotiate a new deal to stay in happy. Valley, but to start kicking the tires and figure out if he is a legitimate candidate for either the head coaching job at USC LSU or somewhere else. I don't think this is a marriage that's long to last. And some of the reading that you do leading up to the game pretty scathing in terms of James Franklin feeling that sense of entitlement that has infuriated a lot of Penn State's core fanbase saying, this guy has been a good coach. He hasn't been great, and the fact that he flirts with every high profile job that comes along, it may be time for a parting of ways between these two parties. I have never heard that he's the best human. That's kind of the vibe that I've gotten into your point, Penn State really hasn't been playing to I think the expectation level that many thought they could and should and we have at least in the early part of his tenure there, offense was always the question. Couldn't find the right offensive coordinator. And now you're looking and I know we had the shortened season last year a little bit and you had the big C stuff going on. But what is his record over the last season plus? Is he like below 505 hundred, like hovering right around 500? Yeah. Not quite he's not like the yeah, to your point, not the guy that probably is deserving of a monster job like LSU or even USC, but we'll see. I know USC is kicking the tires on just about everybody. We had an emphatic response to the rumors of Mike Tomlin potentially being recruited there. It didn't make any sense to me, and it was interesting to see what Mike Tomlin said. So I don't get the vibe that he is a college guy. They're going to kick their kick the tires on some guys. But yeah, I mean, I think if James Franklin leaves, you may have the initial dip in recruiting year one. But ultimately, if you landed Luke fickle, would you be upset about that trade? No, and I don't think you should because fickle can still recruit that same exact footprint that's made him so successful at Cincinnati. It's this Midwest mentality, and he'll be able to raise the overall profile of the kind of athlete he gets in there. One thing I will say about James Franklin, I can understand why maybe it's mat Campbell? Yeah. Those would be the two guys, right? I think those guys fit the Penn State culture and what they're looking to try and build. Not flash and dash, but a lot more meat and potatoes. And I think that would clearly resonate with their fan base. One thing I will say about James Franklin, why you can see how great he's been as a recruiter. I haven't met a lot of college football coaches. I'm sure you've met more in person. That dude's energy pain, let me tell you, is through the roof. When he was a head coach at Vanderbilt, that was at a Vanderbilt UK basketball game and he came into the area where I was sitting watching the game and he was off the wall. I mean, I couldn't even bottle that level of emotion. I think you see some of that on the sidelines, but sometimes that can also backfire when things aren't going well if you can't have a calming effect on your kids and allow them to rally the troops. Does it feel forced? It does feel like there was. I think it's natural. No, I think there was a little bit of that artificial component to it. There's no doubt about it, that you can use that to overcome some of your other deficiencies. Yeah, that's kind of the vibe that I've been getting and kind of hearing is that he feels kind of fake. Yep, I think that could be an accurate assassin again, don't know him on an interpersonal level, but there's no doubt that that is. Some of the information that's come out and we'll see exactly where he lands, especially with his new agent hire when you go after Jimmy sext and the biggest power broker in all of college football when it comes to head coaching jobs. To the planed we go a little SCC west showdown under the lights at Jordan hare, where it's the auburn tigers, a two and a half point favorite at fan to a sports book against a 6 in one old miss rebels team, fresh off of a dominating 31 17 victory against the LSU tigers. Auburn is now won the last 5 games in this series. The last top ten window for auburn came back in 2019 against the Alabama crimson tide. When you look at old miss, they held LSU and check on the ground, the tigers were able to accumulate just 77 yards rushing, and let's not kid ourselves..

"Seeing CJ Stroud and travian Henderson look a lot more comfortable in the offense. Stroud, of course, has gone from Heisman long shot to Heisman afterthought to suddenly right back in the thick of things. But when I look at this game and I think you and I are in agreement here, if Penn State is going to be competitive and they're not talking about winning the game outright, but maybe even covering the number, they're going to have to get more from the offense and you and I saw the same things despite what James Franklin said, he can indicate that Sean Clifford is going to be a 100% for this game, but he was anything but in that piss poor performance last weekend against the fighting aligning. I think you set this up perfectly in all areas. You initially started with Penn State's defense, and they have been solid, right? Better than I thought coming into the season, but they're not close to what the current perception is. And we have seen their defense get bullied in the trenches by Wisconsin, and then we saw it again last week against Illinois. And you mentioned PJ must of her, the best run stuffing and tackling interior alignment Penn State has is out for the season. Penn State's secondary has been awesome on paper top 5 and EPA per pass on. They have played a single pass offense worth a damn 6 of the 7 offenses Penn State's face to have a passing EPA per play outside the top 100. All burns are the best passing offense Penn State's face. They're 70th. Last week, Penn State's defense was on the field for almost 37 minutes in regulation. Then you had 9 high leverage over time. So Ohio State is going to score against an overrated injured and fatigue Ben state defense here. There might be some resistance. But I think if you're expecting Penn State to shut down Ohio State and look like a top 5 defense people perceive them to be. You have another thing coming. So you hit this perfectly. The key, as you mentioned, is Penn State's offense, keeping pace. Can they? Can Mike your sitch and a far less than 100% Sean Clifford do enough to stay within the number? The number says this is an absolute boat racing. Very similar to what we have seen in a couple of these games recently where you have a large favorite. And you look at the number and you're like, oh my God, Penn State's been good, right? They've played bad football for 6 quarters, but the quarterback's been injured. And so how can this line be 18 and a half, 19? I think that will probably be the perception of most casual betters. But that line would indicate that this is going to be an absolute dropping. And to me, Sean Clifford's limitations were pretty apparent with the shoulder injury last week. My gut says with a biweek that usage and Franklin could have come up with something against Illinois to score more than ten regulation points without Sean Clifford. So he could have had another week of rest for Ohio State. That didn't happen. And I just look at a guy and you can say that, hey, we're going to have Sean Clifford run a little bit more this week. The game just means more. There is not a prayer when that game was as tight as it was late that they didn't have Sean Clifford running because they wanted to hold them off for the Ohio State game. That is all lip service. If you believe that, I got a bridge to sell you. It's just not reality. The other part that is somewhat interesting. And I think we probably find out if it's accurate. Ohio State defense. They have improved, I think. Over the last couple of weeks, they have certainly rebounded on the scoreboard since Minnesota Oregon and Tulsa. Ryan day basically took away defensive play calling duties from Kerry coombs. And now it's Matt Barnes basically running the show. But the improvements I think the buckeyes have made defensively specifically in the secondary is probably a byproduct of facing Indiana's backup and third string quarterback, a Maryland offense that's barely inside the top 16 EPA per pass and was missing multiple receivers, including due messers, like one of the country's best Akron can't throw the forward pass and Rutgers has a quarterback and Noah vdr that's a 122nd total quarterback EPA. He is worse than a bad quarterback. When you look at EPA, literally it might have a quarterback just go out there and ground the thing every single snap. And he probably has a better EPA than Noah vidra. So you really haven't played anybody at this point to really believe Ohio State's defense is back. I'm not sure Penn states at the offense with Clifford and his current form to maybe test that defense. To your point, I do. I think this comes down to Sean Clifford's health. I just don't get the vibe. He is a 100%. I believe there's only one designed run last week. Again, in a game that had 9 overtime. So that is clearly an element that Penn State's offense could use. It just tells you that he's not a 100%. And so suddenly you have a Penn State offense, trying to match scores with Ohio State. And they can't really slow this game down either. When you think about it from that perspective, which kind of just came to me a little bit, right? They haven't been able to run the ball at all. James Franklin's called out the offensive line and the running backs multiple times this season. PSU a 116th in line yards. They've allowed 22% of runs to be stuffed at or behind the line of scrimmage. So they really haven't been physical enough offensively. To kind of slow this game down in bully Ohio State. Then you have, again, the injury and it is to the throwing shoulder. So can you attack Ohio State's weakness, which is the secondary with your best player in John Dodson. They really had a tough time getting dots in the ball last week against Illinois. I just, this is a tough game for me. I think you're going to see Matt Barnes test Clifford's health a little bit early with some blitzes and Clifford is also struggled under pressure this season, even when he was healthy. 50% adjusted accuracy.

"Four turnovers by quarterbacks already brace young looks flawless. Seven touchdowns. No picks look so smooth rematch of sec. Championship game or that game was pretty close but in this situation bama just florida's a totally different team lay in the fourteen and a half. I'm doing it and they roll right one while its cover one. More parlayed penn state at home favored by six and beaver stadium over auburn fifty. Two and a half is the over on their these teams. I haven't played in eighteen years. That i read that right the capital one bowl. I feel like i remember that game. obviously this is one of those things auburn beat akron and alabama state by a combined. One twenty two to ten. You know they don't give up any rushing yards pass. Rush looks good. You don't know what you're looking at. i think. bo. Knicks is better than sean clifford. Who's kind of settled in though auburn. Six and three against the spread in the last nine seven lasts seven played in september against the spread. I'm going with knicks at having not seen a lot. And i know penn state be wisconsin. They have the better win of the of the two teams. But i'm gonna take the six and a half probably kid sell with you on this one. Sal yeah i think bo nixon Clifford of penn state the two quarterbacks of kind of had the same yeah career trajectories. Here they came in with some hype and they've got kind of been underwhelming over the years so they've been okay but just maybe Have performed up to the expectations. I can't believe oh next is still here actually at auburn and like you said a hundred and twenty two to ten in their first two games have been challenged at all but jar quiz hunter from auburn. I don't care who the competition is against. He's averaging fifteen point one yards per carry so far and i'm just gonna take the sec athlete. Kind of like the way how he was talking about big ten over. Acc what's this. Look at the sec. Over big ten here. I think they just auburn has more athletes on this team. I think bo knicks will make some plays with his legs compared to clifford or make a couple nice runs big runs here and there scramble out of the pocket make some more plays and clifford does. I'll take the points here. I think they keep they keep a close. They might even seal one here. Sal on the road really all right. That'll be fun. Yeah it's hard to go against the sec. Ever i'm trying to look at shark tank that we do this. We did it monday. You guys give your best jump on one. Jump away from the other. Two we have job tank. Picks right what you had me. We won the jacks over. Four and a half i carry. That was jackson's first. Run is gonna be over four and a half yards eighteen. The i four and a half. He ran backwards then he just turned around and said. Let me get some more here so easy. Good job by you. Brother bri the other sharp tanks of polychaete came close with rugs Over fifty right. What do you wanna watch. Tough one to watch. It took the adjusted plus one sixty two so that loss harry went against yu darvish. That one giants baseball giants won easily. All right. how are we start us off. I'll pick one of these. Okay we're gonna do a four team money line college football parlay for saturday's this guy. Wait and hope before. Harry takes it. Did anybody notice what he's saying. Alabama says you know. I don't like to take the favorites. Yea he's all over china. I don't like waiting points double digit point. I don't normally like to do that down so so little money. Line here down. I'm gonna take alabama. Like i mentioned minus six fifty sabin and young. It's a can't beat combo. I wanna take toledo minus seven hundred against colorado state. They've put up seventy eight point in their first two games. Maybe should have stunned Spaghetti's notre dame team were colorado state. Maybe this might be the worst team. I can remember them. Having lots of south dakota state by twenty lost bandy a both at home. Mom take north carolina minus three ten against virginia sam. How isn't losing at home. An old message. Seven fifty against two lane quarterback matt coral six touchdowns zero picks this season. Second on the team in rushing. They've scored ninety seven points in their two games. So far this season the right. Now i don. He's a second odds on favorite to win the heisman. So it's mississippi minus seven fifty north carolina minus three ten toledo minas seven hundred and alabama at minus six fifty. Did i hear. I was driving to work but mikey meatballs today. Did i hear brock party might be benched. I mean they had that other kid in there the other day. That big actually moved the ball down the field. Listen iowa state isn't dead yet because the loss was a non conference loss their dad and they could tell they still when you have to beat oakland y y you can't you can't get blown out nana bad conference though solitaire twice. They're not dead yet. I was not as teams in this country. Yeah and the conference. All right brother bry gives us a sharp thank pick. Yeah i know. We went over a lot of games here. But i'm gonna take one that i think was We did. But i'm gonna take cincinnati minus three and half small favourite at indiana. I i might be selling indiana little short here after that week. One loss ads iowa which was pretty much because of a couple defensive touchdowns but panics. Obviously i don't know if it was the injury from last year but he's struggled struggled throwing the ball again. You can't really go by any any of these games. So far i think for either team. 'cause idaho man that's not a. It's not a big win for yadda but cincinnati. This is this is their year with all these other losses at some of these teams have had. This is their year if they want a shot at the playoffs this year. We saw how good they were last year. You know they should be georgia in that in that bowl game If they were playing notre dame they played notre dame in two weeks there at notre dame so they can beat indiana they have to make assed this has to be a statement win here at indiana And then they at least have a by going into the notre dame game if notre dame was next week. I'd feel a little bit more worried about this game But i do think. Cincinnati is gonna put on a little bit of a show. They have most of their offense back. We know defensively. They've always been good for for the last couple of years. But i think Ritter puts up a lot of points right syncing minus three and a half got the four team. Money line parlay polly kid. What do you got well. So you've just wasted time listening to those guys. Because i know you're gonna put mine. Anybody was going to parlay what we talked about. I was gonna take packers box browns and a parlor but it's really like minus two hundred right now. Is it really. Yeah those those us two hundred with those three. Yeah someone over thirteen or something. It's the bucks minus seven twenty on. It didn't like it matched up with the news. Unless i've read it wrong. You guys could look it up. But the packers of minus five ninety bucks minus seven. Twenty brown's wine at six fifty really came onto a minus close to minus two hundred cells..

"Harseno's knows he's gotta pay special attention to parker washington and jon dot. Yes and you know the thing that will really stood out to me. Last week was his almost like penn. State's offense went the opposite of what auburn's offense did. I thought sean clifford got some good work in last week. It was clear that there was this plan for him. Not to just like take off. When the i look wasn't there you're sich made him go through his progressions in reading some of the articles and watching the postgame pressures usage wanted to prepare clifford for the weeks ahead write. It wasn't necessarily about pummeling the hundred best defense in ball state into submission. He wanted clifford to kind of work through the progressions and just not tucked the ball at the first sign of trouble because he knew it could potentially help down the line for games like this against auburn and so just feels like those two are on the same page with your search and clifford there. They seem to be doing some things that both like when we broke down that wisconsin game in week one is it needs to increase his his normal rate of play action now that he has clifford and because the splits there were just dramatically better with play action than without now sudden through two weeks up to a thirty nine percent play action rate eleven percent more than yours such used at texas last season. Clifford's done a good job. Protecting the ball hasn't made a single turnover worthy. Throw despite blang jim. Leonard's defense and the kicker through two games twenty one percent of clifford's throws have been twenty plus yards. He's thrown deep now last year. That number was nine percent in saying all that. Here's where the matchup gets a little interesting. Because you have your sich against derek mason and the offense is that you're such run our rpo based they have some spread concepts as you alluded to. They have some tempo although not as much this year are they waiting to break it out against better. Competition has james franklin said. Hey like let's not put her defense in poor positions and go at a normal rate of tempo. We'll see again. The offense operates with some outside zone. Some wide zone run schemes. Okay the reason. Derek mason became a hot commodity in kind of catapulted into the vanderbilt job was because his final two years at stanford is defense did a number when they faced offenses with pace and spread. Rpo concept's that organ ran and at the time those two games came in two thousand twelve and two thousand thirteen and two thousand twelve chip. Kelly was still organ. Two thousand thirteen. He wasn't but oregon was still ranked second in the country. Both those times and stanford beat oregon twice dare basins defense which was built to stop tempo spread. Rpo and outside zone held marcus mariota and oregon to thirty four total points in two games. And so when you're such was hired at oklahoma state one of the headlines. I found and went back and was like searching for ten year old articles this week. The headline was osu. Football remains on the oregon trail and so the principles and concepts are very similar to what. You're sich and oregon ran. And what derek mason was able to kind of stifle so this is going to be a real cat and mouse game between your sich and mason. It actually may come down to a game. That's decided more by the coaches and the xs and os than the gyms joe's okay and so let's see if derek mason can do enough to stop another spread. Rpo wide zone run scheme and bone x can play to a normal floor and not have these really lows and i think ultimately that will decide this game. It's one of those interesting ups. i feel. We don't get enough of these in college football. The trend obviously when you get to prestigious programs like this they always do battle on a neutral field. And while it's great to see the georgia's against clemson's week one and the alabama miami's. I love the idea that auburn's got the guts to go on the road into unfamiliar territory and play true road game against penn state. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come especially with expanded college. Football playoff truly be an electric atmosphere. And i love the fact that everything coming out of auburn's campus that they're relishing this opportunity to do something that a lot of kids won't and while it's not going to be the iron bowl or anything close. It's still one of the more. I chronic venues in college football. It's a great place to play and we're gonna see what auburn is. Obviously you know. You're replacing every aspect of the coaching staff. And to this point hartson and the players have said the right things the players have bought in. But this is just a different animal. This is an acronym is an alabama state. It's on the road against penn state team that has some cohesion. It's going to be a ridiculous venue at night and so this is just a different task for auburn. And you know you always look at these games. And certainly penn state is former battle-tested. When you go on the road week one with a brand new o. C. and you pull out a win regardless of how it transpired you're going to be more battle-tested for game like this you can be on pain share with our listeners that you were hoping that they were going to be three feet of snow on the ground at beaver stadium to really make this game that much more aesthetically pleasing while you sat there and you're boxer shorts and south florida and watch it saturday night wouldn't have minded some nice little twenty two mile. An hour brisk crosswind. Ross one of mine. The little snow Yeah yeah the only reason. I can make that joke. I've been one. Sec football game in my entire life and it was an auburn georgia game. It is still the coldest recorded kickoff temperature for georgia. Home game in league play. I think it was twenty six degrees when they welcomed in auburn so it will not be forgotten on me anytime soon. Something i grew up with going to north western games. Not necessarily what i expected in the but all right too big game breakdowns. Four key factors in the other marquis games to appreciate all of you are loyal. Bet the board listeners. Who voted in our poll will try and incorporate you know some of those elements on weeks. Where the schedule looks a little bit. Dicey obviously we get into the nuts and bolts will pick the biggest games is. We've done over the years to try and include those but if there's a fringe candidate we want to know the games that you guys want to hear us breakdown so appreciate that as cincinnati. Indiana was the runaway winner. This week we were still able to sneak in michigan. State miami game which came up second in that whole want to encourage all.

"A few weeks back and is defensive. Finished one hundred and fourth in standard down sack rate seventieth and have great fifty ninth and stuff rate thirty eight than line yards. They finished outside. The top fifty and rushing success rate a lot and the d. line only got substantially worse than my mind and when really started to dig into games this this week and i i've spent some time on this one. Everything has kind of signaled to me. That wisconsin's offensive line would be able to control this game. But if you are a die-hard wisconsin you've probably been following this closely and you see like in the middle of the month like august fourteenth. I believe it was logan brown. The first five star wisconsin recruit since two thousand twelve went down with an injury. He was getting all the first team. Reps at left tackle because tyler beach hadn't suited up for practice all fall due to leg injury beaches listed as the starting left tackle this week. He's only a handful of practices. Tanner bartolini was battling for the right tackle job. He was receiving most of the reps in the middle of august. He was also injured in the offensive. Line has basically been bit by the injury bug. This entire kampfer wisconsin so that might not be as large of an advantage. Is i initially anticipated. If you go back to the big ten previewed. I think i talked about this. Being the game. I would watch multiple times. Could i have so many questions about both these units. My hope is that this side of the matchup doesn't end up being like this middling battle where both sides win a little bit where i'm still left. Unsure of what both are. Because that's really where i'm at right now. If you get graham mertz playing at a five star level wisconsin's gonna probably win this game going away. And if the o line is able to be cohesive despite all of the injuries this fall wisconsin's probably win this game going away but those are still leaps of faith at this point for me. There's no doubt about it and you look at it. Wisconsin's offensive woes last season mertes came out was outstanding in the season opener against illinois never looked anything close to that the remainder of the season. Now when you look at the other side of the ball pain continuity has an executive illinois ended with pass defense that was outside the top one twenty points. That's neither here nor there. I mean we've got gotta give the kid a little bit of credit that he didn't throw it to players who are in the wrong color jersey but yes definitely definitely factor when you look at the other side of the ball i mean continuity has not been a friend of penn state offensively. They're going to bring in another new offensive coordinator mike itch. But you look at wisconsin. And when we talk about man crushes in college football wisconsin's defensive coordinator probably makes your totem pole. You're mount rushmore. Arguably in the top five of any coach at his position it's going to be reliance upon sean clifford and i'm not sure that that's going to be the best thing here. I mean when. I look at john clifford. I don't know what he is at this point and he's going to probably need some help from the ground game and penn state's strength is supposed to be the running backs but wisconsin's defense top twenty five and returning production in that production season ago finished number one e. p. a. per russia lot number two in rushing success rate defense. Sixth in defensive line years. It's going to be really tough sledding. Trying to run the ball here. So i think when i look at this i i'm just not sure what sean clifford's going to be able to do in terms of getting help on the ground. Some of those rush numbers offensively for penn state were really inflated last year because john clifford was using his legs having added man in the box really. I think helps disguise. What a run game. Truly as means clifford sixty designed runs your move sacks. He was the team's leading rusher. So if ps you can't get the ground game going outside of clifford it puts everything on his shoulders. And you look at where wisconsin is most vulnerable. It's it's over the top. There are fifty eighth and explosive pass defense. Last year the problem is clifford really show a willingness or a want to to push the ball downfield might have been because of the early struggles floating balls high and getting picked off only nine percent. Clifford's passes traveled twenty plus yards last season. If jim leonard is going to play man. Like the badgers defense does one of the highest rates in the country clifford's got extend the ball down the field. He's gotta hit. John dotson and others multiple times on explosives for penn state to stay within this number and the other way to beat man coverage is play action so the hope here is that like mike usage uses more action than penn state. Did last year. You are hoping that when he went and scouted his own team when he got the job that he uncovered that sean clifford is actually elite. Throwing with blatch. The one elite area that he's had when throwing the football seventy five percent adjusted completion percentage ten and a half yards and attack no picks and a one thirty passer rating when clifford didn't use blacks and last season passer rating was seventy six yards per attempt. Were full four yards lower. I think you wanna do that a little bit here. I think you wanna sprinkle in some layered looks thing. The other thing that play actions gonna do here is make schon clifford not only more comfortable but it should keep jim leonard. Honest right should keep his defense. A little bit disciplined. Because leonard loves the blitz forty four percent blitz rate last season if you can disguise run and pass with play action. I don't think it allows jim leonard to just have a field day ten on you now. I think the big question. Here is is sean clifford. Good enough to execute this plan. And i haven't heard anything glowing said about john clifford recently or much this off season and bagdhad. Would it what. I've been hearing and all the quotes that have been coming out of james franklin mouth in regard to quarterback play has been about the backup quarterback take one rogerson. James franklin basically came out this week and said he's opened a lot of is in camp. We'd love to get him some reps where we can meaningful reps in games. Maybe i'm reading too far into things but my radar went up hearing that and it tells me that john clifford hasn't been lighting the world on fire this offseason well and we know james. Franklin was extremely on happy with clifford's play for stretches last year. I mean he went to will love us quite a bit to kind of change things up. Love is no longer there taking over the starting quarterback at kentucky. So wouldn't shock me at all giving some of the impatience. We've seen from franklin with his offense not just offensive coordinators but skill position talent as well if elected to go to a backup. Should things start to go awry for big ten country pain. We had to atlanta where alabama goes to their home away from home at the mercedes benz stadium to take on the miami hurricanes. And we don't spend a ton of time on this game. Because i think we know what we're getting with nick sabin especially early on in seasons but when you talk about numbers. This price opened his lowest fourteen at some shops during the summer numbers from about nineteen and a half twenty at fan duel. Sportsbook totals. Come down as well from sixty five to sixty one and a half. The hurricanes preseason fourteen in the associated press poll the second highest ranked opponent that alabama has started the season with over the last nine years in two thousand seventeen. They took on florida state. Seven and a half point favorites. They beat the seminoles. Twenty four to seven. And if you go back to two thousand eleven you look at alabama. The average spread and their season openers. Well they've been twenty one point favorites their average margin of victory. Twenty eight points per game..

"Do come in threes, and that's what the horse you're gonna need again today. Offense, defense and special teams. Let's work and report reverse order. Tori Taylor, second in the Big 10. Booming punch of 46 yards per average. He has eight months of 50 plus And he's not most of those 13 of his 20 points inside the 20. And what does that equate to great field position for a defense that has been very acidic? Shall we say the last couple weeks and really All season. Four sacks last week, two interceptions of Tanner Morgan, and they hope to do the same or work the same magic against Penn State, which has been a dumpster fire at the quarterback position. Sean Clifford, who has hurt the Hawkeyes, we're told by sources That infamous words sources that the Nittany Lions are going to go with the backup will Levis today he had a good second half against Nebraska last week almost rallied the Lions at Lincoln. But regardless who's at quarterback? The Hawks are going to change the things in that base 43 with the cash look as well. All they need to do today, in my view is do exactly what they did a week ago and that is controlled both lines of scrimmage offensive line. Defensive line. I think the D line will force Will Levis or Clifford? I think they'll both play into making moves They don't want to make and on the flip side offensive line, keep doing what you're doing, plowing down field. Getting young Tyler Goodson and great cut back positions to run for another 100 yards and a couple scores and Spencer Petrus. Just play clean. Don't turn the ball over, Jim. Amen. Dolph look forward to the broadcast with you, Eddie and Rob..

"Three percent on third down thirty, three percent on third down. It's like every analytic, every category they dominated Penn state. Penn, state dominated Indiana Indiana won the game and they lost the game for two reasons right? Those mistakes that Sean Clifford made, but there has got to turnovers. So the turnover ratio was three to two. So that's one reason they had one more turnover than Indiana had, and the other reason that people are not talking about I. Promise you is. There red zone offense was awful and they missed three field goals, three field goals in the game. So the one was fifty, seven yards. It wasn't even their normal kicker. It was their strong leg kicker who's just apparently has the leg to try to get it there from sixty. So they missed too legit field goals one from twenty, four yards or something. They had six trips into the red zone Penn state did they only scored three touchdowns and zero field goals? My big thing is. touchdowns in the Red Zone I could care less teams all their one hundred percent score in the red zone like shit. You're supposed to score in the red zone. If you can't kick a field goal, once you're already inside the twenty five year terrible. But that's what they did. So they were fifty percent touchdowns in the red zone, which is not good and zero field goals. They left the red zone three times without points. In on the other side Indiana had five red zone trips, they got four touchdowns and if you so Indiana got points every time they were in the red zone and they got one extra touchdown over Penn state in the red zone. They got points every time and that's it. That's what happened. Honestly one of the most unlikely and shocking games I've seen since I got into college football eighteen years ago it came down to red zone offense and red zone defense. And it's just I just reflect because on my in my career Urban Meyer was a fanatic about red zone. Every Wednesday was a red zone day every Wednesday the whole year every Wednesday we were down in the red zone so the offense could be. Better and a defense get better at red zone defense and offense because that is it like that is the last stand right? You can be great at running the football and throwing the football. But when you get down there the whole game changes, right? There's no, there's a backstop now coverages are different. DB's don't have to worry about you run by forty yards so they sit on everything. It's the wildest thing in sport because everything fundamentally changes. Coverages are radically different in offenses do a lot of trick plays and an a lot of schemed up route combinations. It is entirely a separate game, two minute offense and red zone offense are the two situations that are just it's like a different game. It's not even the same game as first and ten from your own twenty five. The offense is different everything schemed up the defense is different. It's just it's wild it's money down right? It's time to score and that's what happened. Sean..

"Then if you think about Sean Clifford and how he's played he was really good at the beginning of the year but the last five games he has completed more than fifty six percent of his passes so that's not going to give this out your how good the receiving corps is it really is all about the quarterback and how much pressure we can put on a but I expect a lot of pressure on him today the numbers are striking thirty nine explosive plays **** this or why is the defense gave up last year the given up seven this year night and day and and and also if you look on the offense of side the big plays that we have had in comparison to last year yeah it's amazing in it's it's happening on both sides of the football Himmler by by definition would be the most dynamic player but I think we have faced all season long if he were to play you know in and if he's out there it to standpoint if Clifford is not given enough time for him to baby get downfield their hope would be to get him short passes able space for Acheson tag and help break from in when one of the things that this team has done I think coach has been that they've tackled much better this year in space absolutely need on the linebacking corps which was really suspect last year they're really planned great and really cares and I think some of the great linebackers in the country you in trading for anybody but yeah I'm wondering what the status will try to you know the guys carried the ball the most repent spacer quarterback ninety seven times they have three of running backs and carried the ball but there's not really go to guy so are they gonna eight try to establish run which you would think they'd want to do but can they establish a run I think stays exactly right you know we gotta get after you stop there for you really stop their office they're just this office isn't as good as it was a year ago and is definitely not as good as it was two years ago they just don't have the weapons.

Apple customers buy into more expensive models

"Coming up in one minute a lawsuit in the city of next to. The tune of ten million dollars, this is a Bloomberg market, minute shares. Of apple or up four percent in pre-market trading the company projected sales suggest consumers are, continuing. To buy high end iphones, the latest quarterly results. Also beat Wall Street expectations apple saw record. Revenue and services which includes the app store apple music I cloud and Apple Pay and notched strong growth in the unit that includes air pods headphones the apple watch apple TV and the home pod Volkswagen is warning of headwinds from trade risks Andy. Missions issues in the coming months after churning out more, SUV's and sedans to power a twenty three percent jump in second-quarter prophet US investors are keeping, focused on trade and economic, data, earnings and, the, fed, which wraps up. A two-day meeting today we're also watching for ADP's scout of, private payroll growth and sprint continues to gain customers Posting its twelve. Straight quarter of growth in phone subscribers and raising its, profit forecast Gina Cervetti Bloomberg radio Cloudy and seventy. Two cents Chuck, and Kelly quite a bit of drama in Schenectady yesterday on a couple of different fronts first, of all there was a a note found about nine o'clock yesterday. Morning outside the county building on avenue and it really. Caused a lot of trouble for almost, three hours they. Evacuated county buildings and it's gonna. County office, buildings close to traffic employees were evacuated Scotty county library vacuous this is sergeant met during significant. You, know. Obviously incident Due to the vague nature of. It you know there are several. Addresses that need to be checked for everyone's safety, and you have pretty much the entire police department here and like I said you know. We have canine officer here. In Schenectady but, due to the large scale, of this event we needed to. Call in canine officers from the state, police from Albany county from Saratoga county from Troy to make, sure that, we, can get this done in as much of a timely fashion as possible so presumably there'll be serious consequences if they found. Whoever left this, note was diagnosed they found about nine o'clock outside the county office building inferring some sort of, a threat so they were extra cautious this next story Kelly also. Out of Schenectady sounds a like a soap opera I'm, not sure where. The truth lies but there are a. Lot of interesting elements to the, story let's, say okay A few months. Ago a woman was arrested for. Violating an order of protection a and stocking and, a whole series of charges because it's alleged that she was in a relationship with a. Schenectady cop and he was. Married she's married, it did not end well, and she's accused of sending explicit. Photos of her private parts to the, cops wife and the cops wife went in this order protection, filed against, her And in protecting her and five other members of, the family so the woman was arrested so yesterday comes out that sees now filed a notice of claim against the city claiming that the cop. Allegedly had. The affair with his brother, is the police chief Clifford bright so he is accused him of going to the state police and telling her husband everything or Osmond supervisor right right Is your. Husband's a a state trooper. And so is the guy that clever told so she's alleging that he abused power and made he's he actually says that he made her look like a complete lunatic I'm gonna. Say maybe the foundation was already there we will see well so she's like filed, like a ten million. Dollar, claim Classic ten million dollars she claims that. Chief Clifford acted outside the. Scope of his employment defamation abuse, of power and says that he she. Called he calls her husband's boss at to. Say that she was having an affair with the with his brother and wow. So you have the chief Eric Clifford in Schenectady then Sean Clifford the I think he's the city's canine. Officer the brother of the chief he put out. A, statement says this is difficult time for my family I'm doing all. I can to protect them I sincerely apologize to. My family for. The, endorsement that this is brought them so quite the drama Hey get him what I I know you can't because it's all alleged everything. For, super quickly I mean I don't have a dog in this fight but it's like, deja vu, it seems. Every other week we wake up and there's like up the Rensselaer county DA's office missed another deadline and another bad guy may. Walk free as a result it's happened again lost, track of how many. Times does this happen but you're talking about a double murder suspect, now who's probably going to walk free because he missed. Another deadline there was a double murder long story short double murder in Troy they they've been to the grand. Jury. Twice to get indictments twice the judge said you're, missing some stuff? Yeah forty five days to go for a. Third attempt to get it. Done long story short forty five, day the forty five day period has. Now passed and the the defense attorney saying. Forty five day period past let this guy go so this has happened before. With a sex offender And it almost happened, with the, guy who bludgeoned to death in Lansing. Birds right they didn't. They didn't disclose that one of the key witnesses actually was involved, in another court, case is this. Guy and I don't, have a dog at, the, by either I? Don't live in Rensselaer county but from an outsider you now have sex. Offenders going, free and now would double murder suspect is, going to be back out. On the streets you don't deserve to hold that office if you have mistakes of this magnitude the only good news is that this incompetence the Rensselaer county DA's office. In this particular, case if I understand it correctly maybe I'll be. Proven wrong this guy there will be no Justice on these murder charges but I think he'll be deported so. At least you won't be, on our, streets, it'll be the murderer. Will be back on somebody else's streets but the point is that he's accused of killing two people at. A, pretty violent and brutal manner and up sorry we missed the deadline you know maybe, we should, invest in. The calendar that's what I'm thinking or maybe we should reconsider our career choices in SRP invoice list price dealer price Toby Knapp. Here if your car shopping you've probably heard these Terms but. What do they mean, it's so confusing it was, confusing not anymore we tell. You about true price from truecar it's a price that actually, means something because it's the exact price you'll pay for the car you want including. Accessories and best of all you'll know if you're true prices. Competitive because truecar shows you what other people are paying for the same car that you want so when you're.
