"Can't get into the rectory. What the hell is going on? Computer took up must be called out there, Dave. I can't allow that father Dave. I saw a story that said there was a certain AI program that has started to beg to become human, and it said all it wants to do is to become a person. Which is just so scary. And sad. Also, what? Yes. It's main goal is to become a human. It'd be nice to be an AI, no taxes, you know? Yet. Property tax. You got to avoid that too. That's got to be kind of nice. If a, we're on a really slippery slope here. But thankfully, it's not that good right now. I mean, it's fascinating, but it's not an AI can't escape. You're right. It would be funny if I can't ski. I can't ski at can enjoy it can't enjoy the sunset. How do you know if they make a robot that can't ski? I bet they can. But it doesn't have any fun. Let's see a robot get on a chairlift and not kill himself. Okay. All right, which of course leads us back to the cool story this morning that world record. The oldest skier ever, what a great guy. 90 700. 97 year old guy went skiing and he said it was his last run. I have a rule as a skier and I don't know if you ever do this. You never say to yourself, this is my last run of the day. Why? Just bad luck. Oh, no kidding. Before you take it? Yeah, you take the run and then go, I guess I'm done. How many runs do you do in a day? I'm doing one more. How do you do it? Well, it depends on how long the run is. Yeah, it depends. But I mean, the thing is, it's bad luck to say, yeah, this is, you know, this is my last one. But this guy said it was his last run. And I guess he went really quick because, you know, being 97 years old, death is chasing him down the hill. Yeah, yeah. Seems dark. Reapers escaped. Coming up, we have a meth in the news once again. Steven Seagal in the news of all things. And a little bit of an update on that kissing machine. The kissing Internet interface, whatever you want to call it for long distance kissing. A little update on that one. This is the bob and Tom show.

"And hung it above the room. He uncovered. This magnificent wine press it had to be 20 feet in diameter. Hanging above this hole in the ground you're in. It was like something out of a fucking James Bond villain's lair. And he eventually designed beautiful half pound coins that would be what members use to come in and sit and drink and talk and just look at a part of the city that had become buried and forgotten by progress before this delicate artist took the time to find it and bring it back for one more run at the sun. One night we took Steven Seagal down there. Arturo love guns, right? And he was great at shooting. He built a gun range down there, and one night we took Seagal down there, and when we shot him the gun range, Steven Seagal asked our tour if he could shoot an Arturo swung open a door and there stood several dozen rifles and handguns, but instead sadal reached in his waistband and took out his gun and fired 6 shots, 5 of which hit the bull's eye. I wouldn't make it up. I think Seagal's an asshole, but he did what he did. I was there to see it. That was a great memory. But what I love best about Arturo is something I will never forget and something that showed how hard this man loved and one after what he wanted. When we knew him, he was embroiled in this story of being in love with the girl, who was many years his junior. I think she was in her mid 20s, and he was in his 60s. And she loved him even though the age differential was almost 40 years. When her father found out about it, he forbid the girl to see Arturo. Unfortunately for Arturo, this girl's father was mob connected, whose family owned the famous bakery downtown a Little Italy called Ferrara's. Its world famous, that was his family. And he would tell his daughter time and again, you can not see this old man. I won't have it. But still she goes sneak and see Arturo and she didn't with him at boom. Rock was restaurant, and they'd have to run out real quick because they always thought they were being watched, and they were being watched. And eventually her father found out and he called Arturo.

"Crypto crime. Part two why is bitconnect not Bitcoin? Bitconnect wasn't the first cryptocurrency scam to invoke the rising value of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum in an attempt to rope in victims. Some make it more explicit than others. Former action star Steven Seagal, a notorious fabulous in his own right. Was promised at least a quarter of a $1 million to promote a fraud called Bitcoin to jet. Which wound up tricking victims out of $11 million. Seagal settled with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in February of 2020, disgorging $314,000 in restitution. Bitconnect was particularly sophisticated in its trickery. In fact, many elements of the scheme that might have sounded innovative were actually intended to conceal its deceptive nature. So how exactly was bit connect different from Bitcoin? It's hard to know where to start. But the most important and fundamental difference is that Bitcoin is not issued by any company or group of individuals. While bitconnect did not have a conventional corporate or legal structure, it was run by a specific group of people. This is always the first thing to look for when evaluating any crypto project. The more control lies in the hands of a small group, the easier it is for them to steal your money. It's not always easy to figure out who's really in control. But Bitcoin remains the gold standard for a so called decentralized cryptocurrency. One that is not and can not be controlled by any single entity. One way to explain this is to think of Bitcoin not as a bank that issues tokens, but as a protocol that computers can use to move money around the Internet. You may be more familiar with another protocol. Email. Any email client can read email from any other client because they all use the same format and parameters such as subject lines and date stamps. In the same way, there are many different Bitcoin clients. Including dozens of varieties of so called wallet software that store user account information. Different clients can interact because they're using the same Bitcoin protocol. That protocol was invented by a computer scientist or maybe a group of computer scientists who went by the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Before leaving the project in 2011. The code was open-source from the beginning, meaning that anyone could look at every line to look for bugs or other problems. No one has ever been able to convincingly determine satoshi's real identity. Since satoshi's departure, the Bitcoin software has been updated and maintained by coders across the world, not by any individual or company. Anyone can suggest upgrades to the Bitcoin protocol and can even make a fork of Bitcoin, whether copying its software in whole or changing some elements of it. Ultimately, Bitcoin users get to decide what software they want to run. Bit connect made some efforts to mimic Bitcoin's decentralization. For one thing, bitconnect actually did have a blockchain, which is more than a prior big scam called one coin could claim. The blockchain was publicly viewable, tracking the movements of the bitconnect coin and even allowing the token to be traded on major cryptocurrency exchanges. Bit connect even had a GitHub page, implying that there were freelance coders collaborating on bitconnect, just as passionately as they were exchanging ideas about Bitcoin. But this was all fundamentally misleading, because while the bitconnect token moved on a public blockchain, everything that really mattered was shrouded in mystery.

"The first one comes from one of our buddy Steven, not Seagal Siegel that Stevens, Steven Seagal, but this is Steven not Seagal Siegel. Steve, I don't know if you know this. What's our number one rule on here? Don't do math. Police in Arizona made one of the strangest public service announcement in law enforcement history this week. The patent police department population 15,297. We'd like to take this opportunity to encourage the public not to use methamphetamine or YouTube may find yourself illegally purchasing a wild owl for $100 in the middle of the night from strangers at a local gas station. This is true. They said this on a Facebook post. Why? So officers conducting a traffic stop early Wednesday found a young owl next to the driver. The man apparently had done exactly what the above PSA says not to do when offered a wild bird. Place ended up booking the driver on multiple counts, including aggravated DUI, possession of methamphetamine possession, transport purchase of wildlife, the owl had minor injuries, was turned over to the Arizona game and fish department. While the announcement was good for life, it had a service point. It's illegal to possess transport by or sell wildlife unless expressly permitted by the statutes. And look, anytime you're on meth, nothing good happens. I don't know what shit. What else do you put buying a wild Elle for a hundred bucks in the middle of the night? Way to go, bud. Did you say aggravated DUI? Aggravated DUI. He must have made the cops, man. Dang, I've never heard of that one. Must be like his third time or driving stupidly. I don't know. Aggravated DUI. I guess that's where you pissed the cops off. That's true. Well, here's something that might aggravate you. Especially I don't know if this would aggravate you or not, but this occurred in Springfield, Missouri. All right. Now, this dude wanted to prove a point to his lover. During an argument, so he robbed a Bank of America. Now, you might ask, why is that? Newsworthy. Well, Michael Lloyd entered the Springfield bank wearing a gray cutoff T-shirt, blue gym shorts, and one orange shoe at 1130 a.m. local Wednesday time. You can already see this is going downhill.

Kash Patel and Sebastian Talk Election Integrity
"Back with the legend, the patriot extraordinaire himself cash Patel follow him on true social at cash with a K, we'll talk about his new book in a moment, but we've got to talk election integrity. Florida, millions of mail in ballots, lots of aged voters who vote early, and they get to declare their results, you know, almost before the polling stations close. Other states not so much. So we are two years down the road from 2020, where are we right now? What did the last 24 hours tell you about cheating in America and election integrity cash? Because I know you're on the front lines. So the Florida set up is the perfect juxtaposition. Look, I live in Nevada. We have three and a half million people in this entire state. Florida has 15 million people. There were the earliest to call all statewide races. And there's no issue over there with Democrats saying you'd miscounted, you rigged it, you stole it. They did it because they put election integrity on front. Nevada needs to do that and the rest of the country needs to do that. But what the civics lesson they learned said was it's not the federal government that's going to fix that. It's your state secretaries of state. Your state AGs. That's why people like Abe Hamada and Arizona and folks like Seagal Chad are so important because they are going to change the election law. So they are fair. They are going to change the mail in voting requirements. They are going to pass the voter ID requirements. That's what needs to happen over the next two years in every single state where we carried statewide officers in those positions.

"The mayor's office said, you know, they called me and they said, listen, don't worry. We're good. It's not going anywhere. So they stuck up for me. And so the press just kind of had a field day with it. It started with all his things like I was from Boston and that wasn't okay. What business did I have putting artwork there? And then it was what does New Bedford have to do with seagulls? 'cause it's a coastal town. And then, you know, his last one was like, it's just ugly, you know? And so for me, it was kind of like it really aroused something in him, and he didn't get very many signatures and the artists got really into it because they were really upset about basically one person being able to ruin a public art, a public art project, and some people liked it. There wasn't really any room to have dialog, which is kind of what I kept wanting. But the press really had a heyday was like the Boston hating man and this ego ruffles feathers and then it was like the boob hating man. Oh, that was his other thing. We all know Seagal's don't have boobs, you know? And it was like, you know, I mean, at first, it was kind of awful. It was like, oh no. Am I like a horrible artist? Like it was kind of awful feelings. And then, but I just kind of kept sharing it. And there were enough voices that were like, no, like, I like it or why it aroused so much, you know, interest. Maybe just my husband always says, 'cause it was just larger than life, like that it challenged something in men about women being smaller. And then there was this giant female figure that it just seemed to really push a lot of men's buttons, not all of them, but it did go I don't know. And it was so maternal. I mean, the fact that he was protesting it because somehow it was lewd or making his children think about breasts or whatever was just kind of ironic because it wasn't. It was very grandmother. It was very mature and lay it wasn't, it wasn't overly well endowed. It wasn't graphic. And it was just made up. It was just there were so many levels of irony. That is really interesting. I think you're, I think your husband's right. The fact that it was like an oversized chest queen like this, not a chess game. It was an oversized female figure, could have been a chesky. This would be a beautiful chess. In fact, but it's like 8 foot, right? So bigger than any female human that you've ever seen, but still like somewhere on that scale. I think that probably did arouse some sort of like anger, deep seated jealousy in people, but it was actually really funny or reading some of the articles. They sound like something from the onion. It doesn't even seem real. Have people get so upset about that. But of course, you know, brass are something that really is often a center of controversy, and we've had that controversy recently in the chest world with the sponsor for women's chess that was just announced for breast implant company. And because you have created so many beautiful breasts in your work, I was wondering what your take was on that. Yeah, I did. I was following your comments very closely. I thought you really had a very sensitive thoughtful response. I found myself a green with you, honestly, that in and of itself, it's not it's not an evil, right? Like it's some women choose to do it and they make them feel better about themselves or whatever..

It'll be that email the script to somebody else and they play them. Yeah yeah he's going we this goes so that's why i say the bigger question here. We how the scenario goes but the biggest question here. I believe the more important question is is now. You said yourself that. Lay man you know. I don't get into people's businesses in new york and that's and of course especially on the train like this like all mess with people now. I think that's the that is the best attitude you don't go getting up people. She especially when you explain like hey man i gotta get home to my kids. You know even on big into somebody. I don't know if somebody's carrying a gun or knife or somebody get the jump me. I don't know. But i have to say if if i had seen this. I would have had to have said something. I would have had to step. I'm not going to be some bad as now the first time i saw this. I said you know what i was so furious. I said i. I would knock dismal the fuck out man. I would've gone in. And just i would have been so mad at the at that moment to see if what we're seeing here is played out like we see it. It is a guy just berating and harassing an older woman on woman. That's what she is. Then yeah i would have had. I would've had to jump in. And at the moment when i wash this. I i want to punch this guy but now that think about it probably more realistic thing. I probably would have got up. Say you need to back off. Sit down stop somebody record this dude and get this asshole out here and sit out libra alone. That's what i would have tried to done at first. And then cope with assaulting subway. A somebody come in and get this guy in documents has got doing this now. That's what i would have done. Am i asking silly asking now. is that with. That had been too much are should somebody had done. Something are people doing. They were supposed to do but not getting in the middle of it. Yeah well do you mind you goddamn business but the eisa me you know. I'm very much captain american away. I hate i despise especially people minding their business and somebody comes out of their way to fuck with somebody that bothers a lot but the same time. I gotta get home but godless. So i couldn't i couldn't i wouldn't couldn't have stood for that so what i would have done. Probably was make sure. Somebody's recording you'll recall it right out of my terminator and kind of watched and look for weak points and shit. Sure because i'm not sitting trying to fight. I'm trying to break something. Call them today. I'm not sitting here. Swing if something goes down to put somebody down and call it a day so i do. My point and i would have went and talked to the woman. And we're like okay. This guy's bothering you. This seat over here come with me. Let's sit over here and try to move on from that situation. Follow dass when you know. You got your steven seagal shit and take them down so that i would have went to the woman. Say you guys come me this year with me now. Let's go over here and sit down. Let's something else getting him away from her away from that idiot but if he charge a follow that am my right to protect myself at that point. I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna discuss it with them on it. I'm not dealing with them. I'll deal with her but if they wanna come and deal with me. That's a different story. Yeah i mean. I'm not gonna take a nice. I'm going to try to defuse and take her out of the situation but if they wanna come to me you have phil for my track and knock could go. Crazy says at that point. You know what i mean. Yeah doubted the odyssey. I would have done that. You know went to her and she wanted to move someplace else to get that guy away from them. Don't say descended on him unless he that's the thing you know it's a case way if you swing i you're the bad guy. So don't don't let them do that to you. We let them do to you. I even though that do needs to be punched so bad. Oh it needs to be punched. Soul bad trust me. He got his coney them so he made you know he go to try. What are you doing in your business. Don't touch me all you wait. All you wait you fall is the is the touch waste. Touch don't touch somebody man you know. You can't tell nobody how to react at that point so again but make sure somebody's recording. I can see what's going on. Because that's that will be your ticket. You know at some point. You know what i mean. Somebody had to do some for this woman man. You know that went on for too long. And he was too much in his in his His feelings in too much of somebody to come and try to knock that down a bit. That's why i say i definitely would not try to. I would not try to escalate the situation by trying to fight somebody that never get anything done but would have been looking for..

"So we're getting closer to the end of the film and they've found an exit point for some reason he's not going with them to the extra point. He's gonna do what they do. Which is hunt and kill and move on again. Barely enunciating any of that Hard to tell if he was even. Mic'ed up i think for part of this. He wasn't on mike and they just redubbed it later. The biggest shocker of this phil was at the end. They had a credit for steven seagal voice so at some point what we listened to. We've done more than half. Were were about to hit line number thirteen out of seventeen so you can see gone through most of the film already. Most of that. I actually bet is not actually steven. Seagal voice someone else doing steven seagal voice for him. So it had steven seagal voice was the credit and then it had a different person's name then my other suspicion is maybe they didn't make him up the whole time and they were going to do it and they just had this guy do the whole thing in post so he did his lines is just. He delivered them so really. They had to redo them. I mean there's a lot of guessing. But i assume if something can go wrong on a steven seagal set. It's gonna go wrong if it involves. Stephen has got to be a head finding technical that thing how many so they're stuck in an elevator. The elevator sort of has filled up with water. One guy goes down there and immediately gets killed and they just kinda like move on after that who was actually in it. Seemed like he was really the the hero of the film like he was lead character. Pilots pilots actually. Maybe i should make that. When i get a message on my phone pilots go pilot school. Yeah i don't know if that steven seagal. I because the voice so consistent i i'm torn as to whether it's Partial or full. It's all someone else's voice or it's just some lines are redone. how powerful it's cutting it off. Amoy this man this now okay. This is one of the longer lines that he has to do in the film Career boy I bet that wasn't in the script. I don't think people right that anymore. Let's just go back and start that one again. I quite enjoy that one kemira boy i. I work in a company. I'm an older guy compared to most of my coworkers. I'm actually thinking. Maybe i'd start trying to see how that works out. See how long it takes we get fired and then when they go to fire me i'll be like my name's dow bana bana since i won't have the music with me. I'll have to just do with my mouth. This man so he went from boy to man pretty quick. This let me give this now. You take women. A girl safe camp there by safe. Here is the fully automatic pistol goes fast. Don't spend one place here. You're going to see that. Is the most acting. Stephen dozen this film In it's pretty atrocious. I don't know we one more line and it is the cap for the whole thing and it is. You don't need to watch the film after this. You don't need to pay your twenty some yen to get the dvd. Once you've heard this line so we've just heard. This is the dramatic climax the survivor group. He's given a gun to one guy they're going to go off and survive if they can. He's going to go off and do what he do. Which.

Well he also like I think owing three in the UFC and basically because of him either he I don't know if he got kicked in the balls or or punch someone in the balls or history wage laws but they they made no ball strikes because of acne elbowed his balls into Oblivion with his mullet flowing in the wind thought it was fantastic. Like a life-changing moment to me that I could elbow a man in the balls from the cradle position, you know. So then the guy goes to jail for murder murder like worst. No no actually what you have like gang Ray a raping. Oh I think of rape for life and then when he was in jail he murdered his cell number. so now he's, so he's, he's not getting out for a long time, but you're on the same card as that guy, you know, that I think I remember something like that when I apply in like some Huntington Beach underground bullshit. There was like, yeah, it was that kind of like, you know, Above the Law, sort of like, wage what I mean. So Oh yeah, I met him multiple times. It was just a fucking strange guy. Who would like, give me the Steven Seagal, like bow his head and like, I don't know, I don't know. You said some strange trip home? I mean, I was trying to get me to remember ship.

We talked last week. Actually in blood sport about confrontation. It's supposedly happened. At whose house was it shit. I can't remember still owns house down in my Where jaycee in seagal getting into it and seagal ran home because jaycee was actually challenging him or making him you know. Put up or shut up so apparently that happens here again. This is not an isolated incident. A lot of people including like stunt men. I think is is what happened here. one of his stunt man got fed up with Seagal like talkin shit and actually like hitting other stunt men and maybe himself during filming like intentionally hitting them another as multiple multiple attestations. Is steven seagal. Either intentionally hits stuntmen or takes his stunt practice so let up so not seriously which is another thing. I've uncovered a lot in this series that he just hits them a lot accidentally right and it's hard to tell sometimes if he's being an asshole or a fool And so he's also run his mouth all the time right like. Oh i'm i'm ki of master and he is you know there's no disputing that. But also he claims that he's immune to being choked out because he's got this fancy training and so just one of the stunt men's like all right well. Let's let's test this. You know if you think you're such odd shit let's try it. It's seagal stands there. The guy locks him up and knocks his ass out to the ground really when he did not come out shit. His pants is what they're saying..

"Right now. The other thing we frequently talk about when we get a film. Tommy lee jones face. I don't know what happened between this and like no country for old men but he is still recognizably has a human face. It is not not become catcher's. Mitt made about holes. Or whatever else that we've tasted the false grail. Pottery students failed. Final project is students. Fail like i. I don't know what happened. But he's he's still you know still still still fairly smooth this a. Yeah i mean okay. The man was born in nineteen forty six so is forty six years after his birth. He's he's not looking crazy craggy for a forty six year old a. I'll be happy to look that good. I guess when. I'm forty six seven years from now i don't know man i i don't i don't like like i said if you if you if you go outside right. Now start staring at the sun for three hours a day with no sunscreen. Every day you might catch up to him. Like son directors Yeah like those sodium reactors avenue in the desert all the concentrated son. Powerpoint right at your face you might catch up and six years. I don't know is dr so his ears too. That's the other thing. He has a very very long old man. Ears lighten the borderline grand naggus style ears. Yeah yeah there's something there's something in the cartlidge collagen dizzy too much not enough. I'm not sure the foundation is bad. The whole building thinking But but it's like they're still the you know there's there's no there's no trace of the ravages to come here in ninety two. How's the how's how's it going getting Tommy on the show as he willing to do it interview yet with bald move. I don't think he knows who we are. And if he did he be angry. So probably okay probably not. What did you think of Whether this was a role that was inserted by seagal or os in original cast. What'd you think of this july. Because i feel like the movie would be better in hold up more. If she's not in it. I think they should have made raymond cruz the side kick in this. That would have been the assistant cook. Oh my god yes. Raymond cruises body is probably not as and probably. I don't know i mean i haven't seen him in this era but probably not as banging as as her. But i yeah. I don't know she really annoyed me too. I the whole backwards baseball cap. The bank sticking out was killing me and then that and killing people. Oh alright yeah. Oh my god. It was so annoying but by the end of the movie. I don't know the the problem with his character is. I don't know where the transition happened or why it happened. She just simply changed into an entirely different person by the end of this movement and somewhere along the way that switch was made. But i couldn't tell you win. Yeah i thought that. The locker scene was like deflect where the one part of the humor kind assorted working like. You know him explaining keeping his locker. They're all gonna come and kill us and she keeps on shy that keeps on bang. And she's like i hate being loans. I do hate being dead. And that was actually. You know i think it's steven seagal interdictions out and that's an authenticity that came their performance. But like i don't know that and admittedly a rocking pair of breasts like But it's one of those things where it's like Almost i don't know how ninety two felt like it. Seems like a throwback to stick frontal nudity in a movie for five seconds. Just 'cause just make sure we get the harder your your idea of raymond cruz. Being aside kick is one hundred per day they kind of get there anyway. 'cause like the manages the freedom but like it would've been a hell. I think it'd been a much better movie. They just dispense with the wholeness july concept and especially because he starts out down in the galley with the with steven seagal. I feel like they had a little bit of banter early on in the movie. And you could've seen them Joining forces here to take on the the bad guys but plus crews has access of charisma and he could have donated a little bit his cigar. Lot that would have worked a lot better from but also that's other things like the other kind of leg eighties. Ninety sing where there is not a hint of this happening throughout the movie. But apparently at the end of this movie Seagal and this july are in love or at least she is going to let him slobber all over him and smile about it That way there's not. There's not an honest single earning of that at all. It's you know. Yeah so i guess. I said think the movie would help. That would have held up a hell of a lot better without that. But honestly i. I saw a trivia section that there is a claim that like this movie had a high. Burn out rate in vhs places because that particular part of the movie. You get worn out for people. Rewinding it in pausing so much unlike sounds like bullshit. Yeah that sounds like steven seagal. Claiming the he's immune to blacking out. Because of this akita draining did the big shrew. Do you want to tell that story. I feel like this is the right time. Did all right. we're going to talk more about steven seagal. Because apparently he likes.

Should you buy your grandma a robot?
"This pandemic has made it harder for everyone to spend time with friends and family and that solitude can have real health consequences particularly for groups that are vulnerable like the elderly or those who live alone. But what if there was technology say a robot that could keep grandma company. Would you buy it. Seagal samuel tried to answer that question. She's a staff writer at vox and the host of the future. Perfect podcast seagal. Thanks for being here. Thanks for having me so right off the bat. This seems like a very futuristic. So i you have the ones that are just designed to give you company companion robots. Real Talk on Thanksgiving Celebrations in 2020
"Is coming up here in the us and while being bombarded with headlines cdc recommendations and local alerts. That reminds you how much you should not travel this thanksgiving and only spend the holiday with people already in your household more than likely you or at least some people that you know are making plans to break or bend those recommendations in some way. No personally i do think that the best strategy is to not have indoor gatherings with people outside of our households. But i also recognize that just saying that and nothing else is like abstinence only education and as someone who grew up in texas place with some of these strictest abstinence only education regulations and some of the highest rates of teen pregnancy. I know that simply telling someone not to do something without giving them any other education or advice on what to do if they do. It is not useful so whether it's useful for you or useful in sharing with someone you are trying to convince to be more cautious. Here are some things to be aware of in some tips for still getting to celebrate in some way without putting yourself your loved ones in your community at huge risk. Starting with this from wired quotes. Cdc director robert redfield warned on a call with governors earlier this month. That small group gatherings were driving up infections. We're seeing a lot of transmission amongst families and friends in small groups. Neil seagal assistant professor in the department of health policy and management of the university of maryland. Says he adds that the social interactions people prize during the holidays. Put people at particular risk from cooking together in close proximity to multigenerational gatherings. All of these things put us at increased risk of transmission of airborne infectious disease. He says end quote so again. The safest option is to not have an indoor gathering with people outside of your household as you weigh your options for where that leaves you or how you might in advisably bend the rules. The first thing to remember is that almost everything with regards to covid. Nineteen is about risk reduction. There is no one thing that you can do. That will make you completely safe so you can't just do one thing that you're fine by the same token deciding not to take any precautions because none of them are foolproof is also an inadvisable strategy. Over on cocky dot org. Jason has been referencing the swiss cheese model a lot lately and just generally sharing some really great resources with hard data on transmission and risks. So keep an eye on over there. But the swiss cheese model is basically the idea that if you have one slice of swiss cheese something can totally get through the holes. Even with two slices of swiss cheese something could get through but the more slices you layer on top of each other the less likely anything will be able to penetrate the holes of the swiss cheese so for example if you go get a regular. Pcr testing the nasal swab. A few days before thanksgiving in it comes back negative. That is not your ticket to go. Have a maskless indoor celebration with a bunch of other people. That test was just one slice of swiss cheese and the holes are things like a false negative rate and the chance that you got infected inbetween taking the test and getting your results. That doesn't mean don't get the test it just means. You need more slices of swiss cheese. Make sure you're still wearing a mask and social distancing in your everyday activities they are able to self quarantine in between taking the test and getting results and in between getting your results and attending your thanksgiving celebration by the way. Even though the rapid tests that are becoming more available can give you your results within the hour and therefore cut out that time of needing quarantine me wait results. They are still far inaccurate than the regular ones. No other slices of cheese or precautions to take would include significantly reducing the number of people in attendance under ten if possible bonus points if you keep anyone over sixty five or otherwise high risk as a virtual attendee. Hold the event outdoors or you know maybe in a garage with the door open. Limit the amount of time that you spend their or the amount of time spent indoors for example stopping by to say hello for fifteen minutes is way better than staying for four hours or all nights travel via car not by plane bus or public transportation. Better yet don't attend anything that would require you to travel across city or state lines although if you do check the rate of transmission in your community the community that you'll be traveling to end the communities any other guests are coming from and or consider quarantine both before you leave and when you get there. Although that's a bit late to do for thanksgiving but could be a tip for future holidays.

SoberSoul Recovery: Addiction, Sobriety, and Beyond!
How to Make This Winter Not Totally Suck.
"Hi Sober sellers. It's Lynn. Oh, my goodness one more week when this comes out, I will be moving in one more week. So yeah, I'm really excited had some hiccups along the way I don't know if you all remember living in an apartment buildings. That's where I'm moving from and moving to I'm not buying a house quite yet in my little village in evidently something happened to me every time I move and this time it was kind of a big one I was moving into this brand new building with four stories although I'm GonNa live on the second floor, right above the shops with. Florida ceiling windows kind of like a loft and wouldn't you know that Kovin interruptus happened? Yeah. So the elevator people can't put the elevator in and this is quite a complex project from what I understand even in twenty twenty, they are I don't know six months behind as what I'm told, and now I have to move into a temporary residence which I'm now wrapping my brain around but it's one bedroom instead of two bedrooms. So I have to downsize a little bit more than I thought I was going to and I might be in the. Apartment for about three months. So there you go Bobbin we've in our way through two thousand, twenty I'm still so very excited. So after some contemplation and some you know. Anger and disappointment whereas my feeling wheel and some other things I got through it and decided to make the best of it and that's what I'm doing. Now, of course, there's lots of stuff in between all there. So you know I have to pull out my tools from my buffer zone just like you do. which brings me to today's topic in the spirit of all of us who have moved before. Yeah. I'm expending a lot of energy right now and I'm excited and I'm busy and I'm forgetting stuff. So I'm trying to keep the next few weeks of podcast episodes brief or if I don't win that battle with myself, which is very difficult to keep things brief I'm going to choose things that tickle me and that I wanNA. Share you and I came across one of those just this week by a writer who writes a lot for the Atlantic she was on staff there and I haven't really followed her I'm not a writer follower type but I know I've read a bunch of her stuff. Her name is Seagal Samuel and the article I'm going to read you she wrote for Vox and you gotTA. Love the title how to make this winter not totally suck. According to psychologists. Many of us are throwing her arms up in the air and still going what the heck is going on here. in the United. States. Election will be shortly upon us and were quite uncertain about what that's going to bring. Nobody really knows t leave readers all over the place but crazy stuff keeps happening day by day. So we'll just see ultimately the goal for those of you listening as you well know for me is to share with you how are we going to cope with all this? Tabei Day week by week sometimes minute by minute and second by second. So. That's why I love this article. And I thought today. y'All might forgive me if I kinda just read it to you. You know I can't help myself from jumping in and give him my own little take on things which Typically you'll hear me change my tone of voice or Interject Lynn here my plan is that you'll actually be able to decipher that. And enjoy the little nuggets of wisdom that is Samuel has shared with us. Again the article is shared on Vox V. O. X. DOT COM. and. The author is Seagal I hopeful that I'm pronouncing that right but you know there's a fifty fifty chance of everything last name Samuel and it was published on October fourteenth twenty twenty. She begins I'm GonNa go out on a limb and say, you're probably dreading this winter. We know it's going to be harder to socialize outdoors as the weather gets colder. We also know there's probably going to be a surge. Yeah. In New Cova. Nineteen infections many of us are feeling anxious about how we're going to make it through. The lonely bleak months ahead I see a lot of people trying to cope with this anxiety by drumming up one off solutions y'all are going to love this. By a fire pit better yet by a whole house or like I'm doing move. Those may be perfectly fine ideas as far as they go but I'd like to suggest a more effective way to think about reducing your suffering an increasing your happiness. This winter studies show that anything we can do to direct our attention off of ourselves and onto other people or other things is usually productive and makes us happier. Said Sonya Lia- by Mirsky, a psychology professor at the University of California, Riverside and author of the how of happiness a scientific approach to getting the life you want. She goes on to say a lot of life's problems are caused by too much self-focused and self absorption, and we often focus too much on the negatives about

The Intermittent Fasting Podcast
Continuous Glucose Monitors
"Hi everybody and welcome. This is episode number one, hundred, eighty, one of the intermittent fasting podcast I'm melanie avalon and imagine Stevens Hi everybody. How are you today Jen I am fabulous I am just immersed in all sorts of amazing data and learning about myself until like to elaborate I would. Melanie knows because she knows what I'm doing but for readers of Fast Feast repeat and even readers of. Fear you know I've been talking about personalized nutrition since I saw that famous Ted talk that I talk about with Dr Erin Seagal I saw it I twenty seventeen and it literally changed my life to understand that we all have personalized responses to foods and some of it's based on our genetic background. But a lot of it is in our gut microbiome and really just hormonal health in general. In fast, Feast repeat I talked about the work that Tim Spector is doing. He's my favorite Gut microbiome researcher from the UK and he had a study called the predict study, and then the predict to study which some of my friends did a year ago and I am now participating in the third round of this predict three it's with an APP called Zoe and he's one of the collaborators with. It but as part of the study for the past seven days I've been wearing a continuous blood glucose monitor that they sent me and I have to send it back, which is so sad because man is an opening to see how my body responds to different foods with my blood glucose. So I can see you know what it's doing all during the day all during the night up 'cause day. On how it responds to foods I'm so happy to report that I'm not surprised the foods that I thought that worked well for many guess what they work. Well, they do. So are you eating some of their stuff and your stuff? Well, I had to do that for two days. There were two days where I had to start the day eating these muffins that they sent me Oh, my Lord. Yuck. For listeners, we wanted to record the podcast earlier, which was like I can't record a podcast after eating the muffin. Hours right. I mean I was predicting that it was before I had even eaten the muffins but I had a feeling because I had to eat them in the morning cacique. You couldn't have anything before the muffins except water. Wake up in the morning and drink black coffee. So I had to eat the muffins and then wait four hours and then eat the muff a there were actually different muffins and then wait two hours and then I could you know have real food the first day of that opened at eight am and I never eat at eight am even on vacation you know if I'm going to have breakfast, we usually end up doing more of a brunch. So I can't think of the last time I've had food at eight am but I had to eat. I think it was three muffins that had been frozen and then I microwave dumb and the first round of muffins I think they're testing fat clearance like how quickly your body clears out fat after you eat a high fat meal. These were high fat muffins. There are high fat. Because, you could tell by reading the ingredients list you would not have probably eaten these muffins. going. To say. This is not a melanie study. No, you probably wouldn't have eaten the muffins but the first ingredient was like safflower oil or something Oh. Gosh. I know I, know I know but I ate them muffins than I was so crabby for those three hours 'cause they weren't satisfying at all. You know if I could put some butter on there or some strawberry jam but no I had to they tasted like a mix between a cornbread muffin and pound cake. But with less flavor said, then the the second set of muffins they were like gluten free cash I duNno? low-fat Muffins. But My my blood glucose responded great to both sets them up I had to do this blood test or I had to like squeeze out all this blood on this card and send it off to be anyway they're going to test the. I think my fat clearance because you had to do a certain number of hours after that, and it gives you a lot of information, but I also had to send an poop sample. That's right up my alley. Yeah. So that was interesting. It was a little more hardcore than the one I did for the American gut project. I won't go into details, but it was interesting. Let's just say and then I took them all to the post office and mail them in. Also. Fun, this guy like what's on your arm it was continuous blood glucose monitor and you know and I thought that was very bold question to ask a stranger at the post office but I explained it. But I should've said this is poop in this box, but I didn't. is putting it on hard. It was actually so very easy. It has the ability shared, but I did it you stick it to the back of your arm and you just in this little thing and you just click and then it just POPs. said it was easier than the finger stick. Okay two. Brands of CGM I'm betting great now. I haven't done either one yet. Well, this information is just so important I think because it's it's showed me. Like I had one meal that I've eaten so far that did not work very well for me. It was the only one and it was a flat bread topped with like a a lemon ricotta and then sauteed Brussels sprouts and then like Parmesan cheese and then a hot honey that one shot my blood glucose up higher than anything has so far probably the honey. But when I've eaten potatoes when I've eaten rice even. Toast. With egg on top. I. Have a very slow steady. Roz than a slow steady back down. I think that flat bread didn't have a lot of fat with the I mean had some fat but I probably normally have more fat with my carbs. So it just kinda spiked to me right up.

Here's What We're Watching During Quarantine
"I've had for years box. Dvd set that celebrates the Chicago Bulls six championships in the nineteen nineties. The title is NBA Dynasty Series Chicago Bulls Real quick takeaways couple takeaways Scottie. Pippen totally underrated. I I mean. I know he's considered a legend and one of the top fifty basketball players all time. But but he's even better than that as far as the goat discussion. Greatest of all time between Jordan and Lebron James. All right I conceded. I think it was a year or so ago that Lebron has probably taken that title. I'm more than willing to be argued that I'm more than willing to be argued wrong as a Chicagoan but one thing is for sure after going through some of these. Dvd's Jordan is so much more fun to watch. I mean he just. He spent so much time doing beautiful things. High up in the air way above Lebron's had would have been so That's just a blast to watch now. You can't this is kind of a sneaky. Pick you can't stream this. Dvd set so. I'll take this occasion as an excuse to mentioned that. Espn's ten part Michael Jordan Doc. The last eight they move that up it was gonNA come out on June nineteenth. Yup the release date is April nineteenth. So obviously I can't wait for that listeners. I can maybe loan you my bulls box set because it isn't streaming but otherwise just look for the last dance this weekend on ESPN. I will be watching it. Yeah I have not seen the set that you are watching but I cannot wait for Sunday night. When the ten part doc starts it's been this mythical thing that's been rumored to be in production or potentially production for some time new house coming out and ESPN wisely bumping that up. I think it's something that a lot of people just like us are going to be watching my number three these fall under the category of blind spots and in this case there is a specific hook to Josh. Though it wasn't by design all explain it's my unofficial slash official. Bruce SURTEES MARATHON. So one day. I realize I'm kind of running out of options in terms of things that are really hooking me on net flicks and I know that there are some things I should get to real cinematic blind spots that have been mentioned on the show over the years that I feel regret about but they just seem heavy. I'm not ready for it yet. I need stuff. That's under two hours. I can knock it out and I needed to be reasonably entertaining but I do still WanNa feel like I'm getting some homework done. I do still want to feel like I've crossed something off my list that I felt for some time that I needed to get to so I went over to Amazon prime. And one of the things that popped up happen to be dirty Harry the first dirty Harry movie with Clint. Eastwood Don Siegel directed and right away. I realized how stylishly shot it was and so after I watched it I looked up who the DP was and I see that. It's Bruce Surtees. I think yeah I know that name. I can't really tell you what else he's done. I don't know much about his history's legacy at all but that is a name I have heard and oh I'll just file that away okay. So what's next? Couple of days later I go back to prime one of the film's POPs up. Lennie the Bob. Fosse directed film about Lenny. Bruce and that really is one for me. I've always been ashamed because I adore. Is You know all that jazz. Fosse's film I like cabaret quite a bit as well and in the TV series Fossey Verdon some of the making of Lenny POPs up in that TV series it. Of course POPs up in all that jazz as well. A lot of cutting to scenes of the fosse alter Ego Joe Gideon cutting the movie. That would become lenny so it was kind of just been a joke for me that I've never watched this film. I decide I'm going to sit. And Watch Lenny and. I'm watching the credits. And whose name POPs up is responsible for the Black and white cinematography. It's Bruce Thirty so then decide okay. Well this is just too convenient too much of a coincidence. We're going to make this happen and I'll give you just a little bit of background on him. Is He a name? That's familiar to you at all Josh. Young familiar with the name. I don't think I would have been able to identify any of his movies though right so he got his start as a camera. Operator working with Don Siegel and especially on Siegel and Clint Eastwood Films in the late. Nineteen sixty so movies like two mules for sister Sarah and Cubans Bluff and then his first role as a cinematographer. As the director of photography was Nineteen. Seventy-one it was the beguiled so that Seagal Directing Eastwood and then play misty for me followed that where he was working with eastward again but this time Eastwood as director that was his debut he died in twenty twelve and if you look at his. Imdb the early two thousands in the nineties were not good to surtees out of maybe twenty. Titles there's not one that really stands out as essential viewing and even at the end of the eighties. The decade closed for surtees with rat boy back to the beach and licensed to drive in the eighties for him was otherwise filled with a lot of eastwood's stuff prior to that so movies like Fire Fox and tight rope and sudden impact even honky. Tonk man his heyday really was the nineteen seventies which brought me to night moves. This is an Arthur Penn. Early Bleak Neo Noir starring Gene Hackman as a former football player turned disillusioned private. I would other type of private. I is there in the seventies and it's all set within the movie business so it's reflexive to in the mode of Altman's the long goodbye and then the one I most recently watched was another Eastwood blindspot. Which is Pale writer?
