I've Hired Several Coaches, but No Improvements. What's Wrong With Me?
"Hey i've hired three business coaches. They've all felt like a waste of time and money. And i haven't seen any improvements what's going on. There's something wrong with me. My doing this wrong. what's happening. Well i want to answer this question to make sure i also address. Everybody was listening. That my have a similar question thinking about hiring a coach or have higher coach. Maybe didn't see the results are looking for on a star by saying i have gone through this several times. I've hired coaches have a lot of experience. And not all. My experiences with coaches have been the same. I i have to say a quick If you have a coach if you hire a coach and they give you instructions if they give you a action items to do a plan and you don't implement you actually do the work it doesn't matter. What kind of coach you have. You have to actually follow through. So i know this kind of obvious but a lot of people i've met along the way have hired coaches and ask them. How's it working out like not so great as it will. What does the coach advising you to do. All of they're telling me to do xyz. We'll have you done xyz and they're like a not really not sure. If i should and that really is the biggest red flag for me when it comes to hiring a coach. Don't go down the road of hiring a coach if you're don't a hundred percent trust this coach and believe what they say you should do is worth doing because the whole point of hiring coaches saying. Hey i'm allowing somebody else to advise me on how to move forward. And i'm willing to do what i need to do to make. It happen very similar in sports. You know one of the greatest basketball coaches of all time is phil jackson. He coached michael. Jordan scottie pippen but he also coached the lay kobe bryant shaquille o'neal a lotta great players but these players would not be great would not achieve their level of excellence if they didn't allow themselves to be coached if they allow themselves to follow through. Deep down he thought he almost had the talent and the skill of michael jordan. This was portrayed in many different ways throughout the throughout the documentary. So scottie pippen came out in an interview with dan patrick the other day and all of a sudden called phil jackson the head coach of the chicago bulls from the nine hundred ninety s a racist and was all around this specific incident. Or instance of scottie. Pippen not getting the last shot in one of the years. That michael jordan took off to go play for the chicago white sox. Many people know this michael jordan went and played for the chicago white sox for a couple years just to clear his head won. Three championships took a couple years off. And then won three championships. After that. i'm gonna play cut sixty two. This is dan. Patrick asking scottie pippen. Do you think phil. Jackson was a racist scottie. Pippen says i don't have a problem with that. He says phil jackson was absolutely a racist. And what's so important about. This story is not just how disappointed. I am in scottie. That's i think he's under control for another two or three seasons. He's what he's thirty one years old. He's not making a lot of money. He's having a very nice she. He's had a very nice career over. The last four years with pittsburgh pitches for a team. That's obviously not very good but is got tin safe than this year's one. Seven eight yards away. He's not a big huge velocity guy. I think he sits in the low. To mid ninety s fastball. My issue with him is that he's controllable for years. Which is great. There's no real issue with that. Let's not initially prospect price to get that cost more. Sure does because of the control and he's also a strictly a to pitch guy gets to pitch a good ball park. Yeah you've got no no issue with guys being su pitch guy. I think if the right he throws ninety two ninety three. I wonder in high leverage situations in the postseason. Is everybody kind of set it up like this is going to be the last year and so there was none of that elephant in the room hanging out there for their team That last warriors team with Durant and said that you know. Steve tried to deal with it but Kevin was asked about it every day. Dream on saying I want to be a warrior for Life Klay say and I want to be a warrior for life and then there was this elephant in the room the entire year and it was almost as if he watched the last dance and thought Jeez They handled that a lot. Wanting what's there's at I think with that aspect there's some similarities but overall though I mean I'm with you in the sense that ownership in front office objectives here are far different in what the Bulls wanted to do in the nineties with Crowson. Reisen Dorf is far different than what the warriors are trying to do with Myers and and warriors ownership. Now right I mean the differences with the warriors thing. It was one person undermining the whole thing. Durant yeah the Bulls thing it was. It was like a bad marriage with you. Know eight nine different people. All knowing like the marriage is ending and I think with the warriors they kept trying to pull durant back in that second season when he was there was when it started to fall apart in the third season. I still feel like they felt like it might be salvageable until they had that clippers game and then after that I think there are some similarities with the chemistry. Let's say let's say this. Let's say draymond. His way would have played out the way he wanted to write like. I don't buy for one second. If Kevin Durant started that season said this is my last year with the warriors it still would have been a problem like the right here the whole year by the way. He should have done that though. That's how he should have handled it and I think part of the problem is he didn't handle it that way. And you know the players and the team new organization. They knew he was leaving. They knew about all the New York stuff they thought it was gonna be the Knicks but they knew he was leaving. It was by especially by February march ever in the league new so I think from that standpoint underminded what's the elephant in the room. That draymond talking about that. "I've had for years box. Dvd set that celebrates the Chicago Bulls six championships in the nineteen nineties. The title is NBA Dynasty Series Chicago Bulls Real quick takeaways couple takeaways Scottie. Pippen totally underrated. I I mean. I know he's considered a legend and one of the top fifty basketball players all time. But but he's even better than that as far as the goat discussion. Greatest of all time between Jordan and Lebron James. All right I conceded. I think it was a year or so ago that Lebron has probably taken that title. I'm more than willing to be argued that I'm more than willing to be argued wrong as a Chicagoan but one thing is for sure after going through some of these. Dvd's Jordan is so much more fun to watch. I mean he just. He spent so much time doing beautiful things. High up in the air way above Lebron's had would have been so That's just a blast to watch now. You can't this is kind of a sneaky. Pick you can't stream this. Dvd set so. I'll take this occasion as an excuse to mentioned that. Espn's ten part Michael Jordan Doc. The last eight they move that up it was gonNA come out on June nineteenth. Yup the release date is April nineteenth. So obviously I can't wait for that listeners. I can maybe loan you my bulls box set because it isn't streaming but otherwise just look for the last dance this weekend on ESPN. I will be watching it. Yeah I have not seen the set that you are watching but I cannot wait for Sunday night. When the ten part doc starts it's been this mythical thing that's been rumored to be in production or potentially production for some time new house coming out and ESPN wisely bumping that up. Couple of days later I go back to prime one of the film's POPs up. Lennie the Bob. Fosse directed film about Lenny. Bruce and that really is one for me. I've always been ashamed because I adore. Is You know all that jazz. Fosse's film I like cabaret quite a bit as well and in the TV series Fossey Verdon some of the making of Lenny POPs up in that TV series it.
