"And everybody had nicknames, but now they call each other bill and Mike and bill and you know Larry old days that was rod or whatever it was. No car. Speaking of nicknames, that's the best part about the caddy. It's like ten years ago when I was out there in Khalid was out there, you were out there obviously every week. Nicknames were everything, right? And I was in the back of the back of a car. We were all banged up. We went to some party on a Tuesday, and I was sitting with Scottie neisser and Ryan roo. So we had the new guy, right? And you know nickname. I can't remember. What is it? You know, nicer Nick, think about it. The boss, the boss, the bos and the new guy. All right, and I'm in there, and there's a new guy. And there's this other guy. There's this other guy, other caddy. I'm a rookie on the tour. I don't know this guy. But I'm sitting right next to him, and he is obliterated. I'm like, okay, all right, well, this guy's drunk. And I don't know. I'm gonna ask his name. So like, what's up, man? I'm John. I'm a rookie this year. You know, what's your name? And he goes, my name is my name is Baghdad. I'm like, your name is your name is magnet. And I'm like, why do they call you Baghdad? And he goes, he goes, 'cause I get bombed every night. And I was like, I'm gonna fit in real well with the caddies. I love the case. Ever since then, I started learning about all of the caddy nicknames. They were just amazing. It sounds like that's not he wanted a cool nickname or a positive nickname. You know, something that positive happened in your career, but the caddies man, if they find a sore spot, they're on a stick it in there and twist that knife man. If you're slapping shady happen to you, boy, that's gonna be your nickname Baghdad. You know, you had wrong way and all those caddies had all kind of yeah. Skillet. I had skillet. The other day, there were photographed up in some seats during the football game, and SoFi Stadium, and at one point, some spectator with his phone on, started giving her the what for, right? It's getting very awkward, considering, you know, there is a strong rumor that she used to babysit Marcus back in the day. "But what's your perspective on the setup of the masters this year? So 15 was like straight into the fan. We barely saw anybody go for it and they added all these new teas. I mean, when you played it, you obviously loved it. Did you think it was perfect or did you say, man, this place would really be the nuts if they added three or four more teas? I thought it was perfect. The way I was. I didn't really get a great look at number 11. But from what I did see, like I did walk on 11, but I didn't believe it was really pay attention enough to dissect the trees that they took out on 11. But I think I do like the changes on 11. I think that ship before right of the green was always incredibly hard as it was, but to make it even harder to tempt guys even more to try to hit that green in two. I think it's a good thing for that whole because I think the challenge of taking on that green should be, it should be a huge reward rather than bailing right and still having an easy bump. I think they've made that I mean, I can't remember what day it was, but Scottie hit it way right Saturday. Who we are. In the auto up and down. That was probably the silliest up and down. I've ever seen. That is such a hard shot. And I think what a lot of people don't get is the wides around a gust or not like the most pure wise you've ever had in your entire life. And it's like, we've weirdly, like you're saying, we've watched that and have had a weird sort of storyline within it because we were like, we know who you are. Do you know the whole thing? We're at the Ryder Cup. He still hadn't won a tournament ever. We felt like we had the inside track on talking to him because no one else really knew his guy chef it was like there. They did, but he wasn't the big ticket item at the fucking rider. People were like, who took down John rom? They're like, Scottie scheffler oh yeah, he's like that 25 year old, like she's like regular looking white dude that just goes out there and plays golf. He was just that guy and like we all were like lucky to have some interaction with him prior because we felt like we knew him and we're like, oh, we're gonna get more sky shuffler stuff now. Like he's like one of the only guys that are gonna talk to us at this thing and now he's this guy. He's fucking insane and he's the guy now. He's the guy right now. And then we potentially get a chance to take that on. Like it's a guy at the peak of everyone takes a first eat. It seems a nice buttery cut down in the middle. Like we haven't played a guy at the peak of his powers. All the guys that we've played are great professional golfers, but we have not played anyone close who is on a run that Scottie scheffler. I just got shepherd does that little three wood like draw swing against us? Like what do we even do against that? That you know that location. I've never seen anything like that. That's such a unique finishing position and swing that like you can tell whose swing is who's like when you look at like Tiger swing. If it's just a silhouette, if you look at Jack swing, Arnie swing, like you know sky shuffler, so if I show you that scoop and draw thing, you're like, that guy shuffles. I saw Dave tweet that this masters has sucked, I saw Kirk manahan, who loves the masters who tweeted worst masters ever, and then I actually texted him. He said, overreaction in the moment, zero drama, not shuffles fault last three masters have been drama free. I think there's some truth to that. I can understand that. If you're tuning in, I'm not going to say cat because Kirk is a diehard golf guy. But if you're someone like Dave, who you like the drama, the masters you like when somebody hits it in the water on 12 and there's chaos and it's a roller coaster and it's flip flop back and forth and there's huge, huge putts that people have to make down the stretch to try to keep it or Tiger chips in on 16 to like create the most electric masters moment in history. Like we didn't get any of that. So I could understand that. It was nice for us because for a while we were drunk on Tiger, we just that was taking up all of it for us. And then our guy Scotty ends up winning by however many strokes and he was dominating the tournament during the weekend. So it was nice for us. I could see as someone who's not like a huge Scottie scheffler guy that you're just kind of like, oh, well this guy that I don't know a ton about other than he's won three of the last 5 weeks. That's not gonna move the needle. It was a big foreplay masters. No, there's no doubt about it. I was pretty jacked up for everything that happened from Thursday to Sunday. I just was. I can see completely agreeing with Dave's take and all these other guys takes about, if you're just a casual fan, you're like, if you're watching the masters with hope that someone's going to collapse so that it gets tighter. And then watching him do what he was doing, where it was just like fairway, green, make a putt and just stay at ten under 11 under 12 under. That's frustrating. And there's no worse viewing of golf than when things are frustrating. It's already a boring game to compare it to a basketball game or a hockey game or football game as a casual sports fan or like Dave goes from fucking betting 500 grand on basketball games or whatever he's been doing to like watching that. "Guys at this top level, it's the reason Tiger Woods goes through everything that Tiger Woods goes through to play. Right? He doesn't need to get up three or four hours early, grind just to go play one round of golf and then do a bunch of ice afterwards so you can play to prove anything to anyone. It's like becomes so pressure packed and stressful that you haven't gotten over that hump that then it like sucks some of the enjoyment out of it a little bit. What he's got now is a launching pad for like he's gotten us out of the way. He's 25 fucking years old, which is Murray hill, nothing. You're not even a real human yet. You're like a child. We make fun of Frankie and justify a lot of your stuff for being like a young moron, and he's like, you're 27. Yeah. That's crazy. Fucking 25. He's not, he's nothing. So for him, now he's in such a good spot, and we are discussing during a live stream, he's going to be number one in the world for feels like a long time away from him. I mean, I don't know like the points what it is right now, but I mean, yeah, it's a lot to a little. Yeah. We tried to make the point that he wasn't almost worthy of the number one, just a couple weeks ago, saying, you know, he's not like the favorite, the betting odds favorite. And he wasn't the best golfer in the world, even though he was number one. Basically saying he wasn't worthy of the number one ranking. "About Scottie talking about the office, how much they love the office. He said, my wife used to not like the show. It's by far my favorite show. I love it. She used to watch random episodes with me and she's like this show. It was stupid, why do you watch that? Finally convinced her to start her from the beginning. She loves it, and she's cracking up. And he went on Saturday and I had to ask him, what are you going to do tonight? Then he's like, me and my wife are going to literally go back and watch a couple episodes of The Office. Maybe get some pizza, and that's going to be our shattering. That's a 25 year old thing. Being obsessed with the office. A lot of people obsessed with that show, but it feels like that generation, the ones who didn't really watch it when it was on the air. Now they're falling in love with it. That part of him is a 25 year old guy. And those are the parts of Scotty that we love. Like we had him on the show a week ago or 9 days ago. And he said that what we were like, what did you do after you, you know, you've won all these tournaments, what do you guys do to celebrate? And he was like, we just played board games in the backyard. And that, that part of Scottie, I love because I don't think this is gonna change him to answer your question for him, lurch. I don't think this is gonna change him, and I think he'll give a similar answer. He's gonna say that this is an insane ride, and it's like, holy shit, I never thought I'd be here, but at the end of the day, he's still just still just Scotty and Meredith. His life gets significantly better today. And I think that probably was what led to the anxiety and crying last night was like, all right, the best thing of my life can happen today. It's almost like winning the lottery for us or something where like our lives are gonna change drastically. "Blades by barstool sports. This is the 2022 masters recap, knee jerk reaction show Scottie scheffler, the chef, just won the masters tournament. He has won four out of his last 6 golf tournaments the last time somebody did that. You got to go back to 2015 when Jason Day won four out of 6 in the summer of 2015, culminating with his first major championship win at whistling straits. So this is pretty, this is rare territory that Scottie scheffler is in right now. Kind of a weird masters overall if we're going to be honest, there was tons of hype about Tiger Woods. We're going to get into all the Tiger. There was tons of hype going into this round. This Sunday round with cam Smith and Scotty, two best players of the year so far clearly cam Smith had won two of his last four starts. He won in what Hawaii and then he won the players championship, which was the biggest prize in the history of golf. And now he came in and it was him and Scotty, one of three out of 5 and it was going to be great and then camp Smith just melted down like Jordan Spieth on the 12 hole, Rory went crazy. So we got a lot to get to. But I'm happy for Scotty chef or, you know, we spoke a little bit about and put a video out about we spent maybe Frankie and I probably spent 30 minutes with his wife Meredith on Wednesday at right on the 16th hole and for the first probably three or four minutes, we had no idea really who she was. She was like, oh, you guys are the barstool guys, right? And we were like, yeah, and she's like, oh, my husband's a fan, and we literally talked for a couple of minutes, and then I think she was with maybe her father. And eventually he was like, yeah, she's being modest. Her husband has Scottish. I've had to ask her if she goes, oh, she goes Scottie's coming through. I hope he skips it like this time or something like that. I hope he skips it. And I was like, yeah, that would be awesome. She goes, yeah, I wish I had a video. I could take it. He's gonna want a video. She said that to her dad. And then I turn around, I'm like, are you like Scottie scheffler's? And she goes, yeah, I'm like, and then the dad comes in and goes, yeah, she's never gonna say it. She's sky scheffler's wife. It's crazy. It was wild. And she was so nice and like, Frankie said, the part where she was legit, like, oh, can you guys, you guys have a camera? Can you video him skipping balls and like send it to me? We were like, she was so giddy that Scotty was coming through. And she couldn't wait to watch him come through. We're watching him on TV right now. It's distinguished. He is distinguished. "Yeah, like I can see the color is fine. The only time I struggle is like hazard lines. So when the red hazard line is on the green grass, sometimes I struggle to see it. I'm not fully colored by I can see color. Walking around in black and white just absolutely tearing up golf courses. Also it'd be a travesty that you have the best your office is a green haven and you can't see any of it. Augusta just looks red to him. He's like, wow, the blessing and he's great. It's like pleasant village. It's like pleasantly ever see the movie pleasantville where everything's in black and white, and then they start to have color and no one knows this reference. Yeah, I've seen it. Magic wins the masters and now everything starts to come out in color. It's a little movie scene right there. But what about when you, when you hold the bunker shot on 12 kids say anything to you then? He had to have something up his sleep for that one. You know, I actually don't think he did. We chatted a little bit, that probably ended the chatter. There, because you're three. I might have. That might have been on the other end of that. It's like kind of a, it's definitely frustrating to see something like that happen. Where kids, I'm in control of the match, it's a really good pitch. I hit an awful pitch and he's like, all right, you know, I got a good chance to win the hole here, and then some guy holds a bunker shot and you're like, scream, man. That's probably what he was thinking in his head, but you know, he just says good shot and then he rolled in his butt after me, but we talked a little bit like we both hit putts on number one or number ten that we both like clearly misread would walk off.
