"Test it, resilient, and committed to giving back as much as they're growing, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with every bushel. While replenishing every increasingly precious resource, like the reduction of soil loss by 40% with every acre grown in a world where sustainability matters more than ever, we need all the help we can get, and there's no greater resource than the capable hands of American corn farmers. You know, I want to transition to golf because you're a big player in the golf world, but you mentioned the summer and getting through the summer. I was going to ask you this later on, but we'll do it now quickly. As you know, there's no bigger fan of bad beats than may unfortunately. We don't have our NFL. We don't have a college football right now. Now the MBA just send it. What do you do? What do you do for gambling fix between now and the first NFL preseason game or college football or something? Because you go two ways with it. This is now the time to take a break or you dip it in things you shouldn't be dipping in. What does Scott van pelt do? I mean, I'll just say that long, long, long ago. When I was a young man, the had no funds and no fear, I was heavily invested in the Oakland a's and the World Series. They played the reds. Had them for the series and had them every game. Jimmy, the Oakland days didn't win a game against Cincinnati. And at the end of that World Series, I had lost money that I did not have. So when it comes to baseball and dabbling in that, I just leave it alone. We have very, very similar experiences and philosophies on that baseball is a problem for me and I have to stay. And here's the sick thing. I love betting baseball. I love it. But I can't do it. I just can't do it on the day to today basis. When the NFL season starts in baseball gets into the postseason, then I'll dabble in it. But regular season baseball I've had to give that up. It's a problem..

"It's Twitter and I mean, we got to move on. It's not real life. I want to get into draymond to piggyback off stuff because you had an interesting interview with him. But since you brought it up, we're going to go right off the highway here and since you mentioned it, do you have a favorite all time favorite James Corden, carpool karaoke? I go back to the original, I think it was the original with George Michael, just because I don't know where people are on George Michael God rushed his soul, but like, watch that dude sing at Wembley when he did at the Queen tribute, watch him sing somebody to love. That guy could go, man. I mean, and I think that launched it because James Corden can really sing. And the moments, there are all these little moments where you see the person who he's with, realize, I think it was like Adele. You see Adele, look at him like, oh, this guy can sing. I just think that me and you are getting tweets liked. He's singing with Adele and it was looking at him. I'm like, oh my God, this guy can sing. I think that he's that little lane of his was just such a brilliant window into having the balls to sing next to Adele in a car. 'cause you gotta go toe to toe. You gotta think you can do it, you know? You wanna try to hit the high notes and I don't know. There's been, there's been so many of those that were funny. But again, I go back to George Michael and think, I think that was the first one he did, and then that. So that was for anyone who doesn't know the George Michael and he did for, I think it was like a benefit charity thing they did in England. It wasn't part of his CBS Late Show. The first one he did here was with Mariah Carey. Right. But the George Michael thing, that the snowflake at the top of the hill that becomes the avalanche, right? That was the birth of it. That was the inspiration. As I understand it. But we had him on during the pandemic. And I said, I know this is a terrible question that's impossible. But is there one, you know? It was Paul McCartney, like when Abby wrote, I think it was, and it's like, how do you make that make sense if you're him, you know what I mean? You're in a car with the beetle. Right. Driving down that road singing the song. Yeah, it's funny because McCartney just had his 80th birthday over the weekend. And I actually went and rewatched that carpool karaoke and it one point they're singing let it be and James Corden tears up and it makes him think of his father, grandfather. James Corning gets a lot of shit online, like a lot of people do, but that's one I don't understand. You don't have to think he's funny. You don't have to like his show, but it is weird that he gets so much shit. It's just like a nice guy doing a talk show. What are we heating on that for? Well, but whatever. That's just the way the world works. We talked about this and when it comes to social media and how people behave and it's typically not how people actually behave. So I think you just kind of just keep it moving, you know? Right. So back to the NBA warriors, postgames. You had draymond on. One second, we have a very important question. Yeah, go ahead, buddy..

"Great show this week conversation with Scott van Paul who was always excellent and get into Scott doing postgame for the NBA Finals, his interview with draymond green, where he got a little awkward, get into the Liv golf situation, why there needs to be more singing along sing alongs at sporting events, bad beats, a lot of topics covered with SVP and then following that train of thoughts with my buddy salata. Where we get into good discussion about stand up comedy today I watch Ricky Gervais over the weekend and we get into some stuff about that and a couple of sports things as well. Before we get to Scott and train of thoughts, let me just tell you last week, if you missed it, Paul bissonnette is nasty was on the SI media podcast two weeks ago, Brian Curtis three weeks ago, Richard Dutch, four weeks ago, Joe Davis from Fox Sports. If you missed any of those, go into the archives, give them a listen. Download listen, subscribe, rate review. There's a lot there. I know. It's a big ask. But if you could at least subscribe and then maybe review. That would be best. All right, let's get to this week's show. Scott van pelt, followed by train of thoughts right here on the SI media podcast. All right, joining me now, as I media podcast regular, I think I can call him the host of the very popular SportsCenter with Scott van pelt. Scott van pelt, Scott, how are you? Thrilled to be back, Jimmy. I have to say, I'm very, very lucky that I do have a very nice group of regulars who are always nice enough to come on and agree to come on usually. And I will say among those regulars, the two people who despise getting S the most are you and Joe buck. Okay. Well, I'm coming good company. I mean, you guys always do it. You're always great to me. I cringe when I have to send the text. And you guys in the most polite way respond with like, oh, fuck, why are you asking me this? But you do it. So I appreciate it. I never say that. You don't say it. You never lying. When I say to you, we have some school thing. I believe I have a school thing. If I want to do invent it, I would just say I have adjacent, and terminal afternoon ajita. Can't join you. And I'd never do it. But you always do it. You always do it. And I appreciate it. We find a time. We find the time. It's always good to talk to you too. And I wanted to get you on during the NBA Finals because you come on after the NBA Finals and I mean, you're sort of you're the postgame show, and that's got to be a nice little adrenaline rush for you..

"It's off putting to me. My favorite thing is just in the middle of a conversation, he comments on how his pants look on the screen, like literally half the time he and I are locking eyes having a conversation the other time is he literally is checking himself out on the monitor. But he does it. He's mastered the art of being just obnoxiously self absorbed, but in a charming way, I'd say just the rarest thing in the world. I don't know how he does it. He's kilby. He's lord kilby. It's leadership as he likes to say, but hey, love watching you as always, sorry to run into you at the Emmys, but that was another well deserved not for you. Or not, it's fine. All good. Take care of yourself. And enjoy the three day old donut that's still left in your world. Your Father's Day America. Ladies and gentlemen, it's got Brad pelt everybody. Check him out on the midnight SportsCenter, Stanley Cup final game three tonight. So I'm certain he will be on the year after that. Where the Tampa Bay lightning, once again, needing a dub. I think the avalanche just scored again. 7 zero. From the other day. Rich Carlos kicked the extra point. I was rich Carlos, by the way. That happened last round. The rangers went up two O on Tampa and they won four straights. And it should be fun. Yeah, so Scott will be on his show, no doubt after game three of tonight's Stanley Cup final. If we had more time, I would have asked him the difference between finals and final, but man gave me 20 minutes anyway, so it was fun to happen. All right. We have a couple of phone calls. We will take them and overreaction Monday. We haven't gotten to that yet. Hey. Hey, that's next on the rich eisen show. Callaway rogue ST driver, we just chatted with Scott van pelt. John rom had a heck of a tournament. He came up just short. The rogue ST triple diamond LS is that compact low spin head that the tour players love.

"Before the game's over. I mean, there was a puppet needed to be there. That wasn't the, that wasn't everyone's best moment. I understand why they lost their mind, but you know. I don't know. We're going to make the pipe. I don't know. It's been 27 years. It's probably time to move on. Oh, they were so angry about that. I just remember that. And I guess we always in our business, Scott van pelt, we always try to pull on strands to make something, I guess, a bookend, or connected in some way, shape, or form, I find it interesting that this is the side of that Ryder Cup, and now we're going to have to wonder, I know the president's cup is affected by the new world order in golf. But who the hell knows would write a cup what things are going to look like from now on with the live tour. And now everybody, I guess, focuses on Oregon this week. How do you think the live tour has crashed the party? Scott, I haven't asked you two cents on that subject yet. Here's what, here's where I land with a couple of weeks in. At least my experiences with this, because I've covered golf for a long time, whether it's you or somebody that I see out and about that, oh, hey, you cover golf or whatever. What do you think of? Lots of people ask me about it. And I immediately asked them in return. Well, did you watch any of the first one? Nope. But you know that Charles Schwartz will want to pot full of money. Yeah. Okay. Well, how long is that interesting to people that so and so is going to win a ton of money in Oregon? What's the sell here? Because if you're hit me with oh, it's 54 hole shotgun. Well, that doesn't hold a lot of interest to me, okay? And then the team concept no one can really articulate in a way that anyone knows or cares. So I think what it is is a topic of conversation for guys like you and me and people in our business, it's certainly a lot of Twitter chatter, but then are people consuming it? Ultimately, that's the part I don't. No one said, oh yeah, I watched every second of it. So I don't know, maybe the fact that it stateside at a course where speaking of, I was there, Tiger won an amateur at pumpkin ridge in 96, and it's a cool golf course, so people are interested. Maybe they'll watch. I don't know. It feels like something we talk a lot about, but I don't know who's paying attention to the actual product. And that's at some point a problem. Well, I guess the tipping point will be if some of the events on the PGA Tour that would normally be star studded is not as much because they're not there because they've been suspended for playing a couple of events. You're spot on. And I think that's an issue. And if you end up with two tours that and that's never happened with football and it never will, where there's way back in the day, like the USFL, some guys win or whatever. But if you end up with two tours that are sort of split down the middle and you're half and half, well then the sport is crushed by that because then your attention is diverted and no event has a great field. But what will happen the tipping point really will be what happens with majors because these guys were all allowed to play this week. If there's some sort of change where the masters or the RNA that lends the open championship with the PGA of America or the USGA says, look, we're not going to have you guys. Because you don't have enough official world golf ranking points because you only earn those for events that are 72 holes. Well, then that will be the issue. And maybe if you're Dustin Johnson, you got a 150, you're like, I want a couple, I don't care. But I think they do care. So that'll be the interesting question that isn't answered until we get to that point. We had the author Alan chip on the other day, Scott van pelt, and I asked him about the majors and would they weigh in on this and he said they want no part of it. They just want to run their event, stay out of it. There's no reason to call any more attention to it and just he doesn't think that the RNA or the green jackets are going to come to the PGA Tour's cavalry help here. I agree, rich, because it's not their job. And the tricky thing is there are already 5 master champs, I believe, if I count them correctly with Reed Sergio Phil, Dustin Johnson, Charles schwartzel, who play on the live tour. That already masters already has the smallest field to begin with. So if you want the master to step in and say, our 5 of our past champions, all of whom still compete, can't compete and then however many other guys that are part of that field that are that are draws. Louise and who's been close to winning here on a number of occasions among others, they don't play well now all of a sudden our field down to like 80 guys or something. I mean, you know, that's not for them necessarily. I can't imagine them doing that. And then do they want to be the precedent setters that others follow? I'm with Alan on that. I think it's going to be everyone's looking around somebody else and you be the lead blocker on this one. Well, I guess then the answer is, where does it go from here, Scott van pelt? The general sense is, if you're the PGA Tour, you just say uncle, okay? Let's sit down and we'll talk. And merge and the live events are played during the football months. You absorb that. You absorb that. The PGA Tour doesn't really want to go up against the NFL and college football anyway. So what do you think about that? Listen, there's if the PGA Tour a bit more malleable about how it went about things to begin with and we're more proactive than I don't think it would have got to this point, but they weren't. And I think they banked on loyalty just for the sake of loyalty. And at some point, your loyalties for sale, when you get to these types of numbers. And that's what and that happens. So I can't imagine them giving up immediately and just saying it. But then it's a reasonable question to ask as I believe Jim Nance did of commissioner monahan. So you gave you gave a waiver to people to play in at Saudi Arabian event, so why won't it has the same backers? Why this? I don't know, man. I just feel like there's so much conversation and I get it. I just, I don't know who's interested in it. No, I know. Other than us talking about it. Well, we peeked in on it. You know what I mean? We peeked in on it. The graphics looked like for the team graphics looked like something out of those Nickelodeon games with like I don't know what those graphics were for the teams. I wasn't interested in it at all. I mean, the broadcast, I know people who are put in a broadcast on it looked, it looked professional quality. But the golf wasn't compelling. And I guess that might be the PGA is just like wait it out. Who's going to be paying attention to tournament 5 on the live tour? And then the PGA Tour got absolutely, I mean, it was magic for them to go out and have the Canadian open with a glamour group and Thomas mcelroy and phenol all go out and play like geniuses in Canada. It was a circus. It felt like all of Canada was out there just going Berserk and it was they all played great and you got mcelroy basically saying, yeah, I got one more than somebody else and it was clear whether he chose to be or not. He's now kind of John snow and Game of Thrones going out his sword. In this case, maybe he's got the bigger army, but nevertheless, it feels like Rory's front and center out there saying follow me. Could do worse..

"That one of the kids had taken half a bite out of wait for dad. That's what I had. There's a half. And it's great, right? It was great. I'm sure. I'm sure it was delicious and it was great. Right? No, I mean, listen, I hate it, and I was happy to have it, but I mean, there was no brunch. There was no brunch. There was nobody putting on a fancy outfit and going to brunch, okay? None of that. But you wouldn't have wanted that anyway, though, I imagine. Correct. Correct, all I wanted at some point was to sit and watch Brooke line, which I was I was afforded that time. And it was a lovely day. Jack's Father's Day. I mean, in a nutshell, let's watch some golf, daddy's got the remote, everybody just chill. Yeah. That's it. Yeah. It was actually an incredibly beautiful day at the beach. Everybody was having a fun time. And. I think you're right. I think pops don't, you know, nobody needs to turn up a big fuss over us. I got some lovely cards, lovely sentiments, and I got to spend it with my family. So in all seriousness, it was a great day. And I love to hear that Scott. So I'm glad I wasn't interrupting too much to have you come on and off of your two cents on the U.S. open and how it all wrapped up. I'll give you the floor on that. What we'll remember and what was significant for you. I thought Brookline was fantastic. It's interesting. In this God, when you say it out loud, you're like, what are we doing? I mean, it's 25 years I've been covering major championship golf, which means I've been to most of them. You know, more than once in many occasions, Brookline just hasn't had any majors. And I've never been there. So watching it, it's blind to me, and it's not our event anymore. It's now an NBC property again. And so it's a fine and fun to watch them do the heavy lifting and watch it, but when you're there at an event, you have a much better sense of it, obviously, because you've been out walking the golf course, but I thought it was, that's always a fantastic venue. It was clearly hard as hell. You tend to you tend to look at it a major and say, who does it identify at the end of a week? And there were some interesting names Thursday and Friday, but come Sunday, it's all heavyweights. And even though Fitzpatrick had in one yet, he's top 20 in the world, even those alla tourists hasn't won yet. He's got like 6 top tens in his ten major championship starts. And he misses by a shot and Scottie scheffler, who's the world's number one who won the masters, he misses by a shot, and all the other guys that are right behind it are a bunch of major championship winners. And it felt like the course as the saying in the U.S. open goes identified a great champion and the shop Fitzpatrick hit on 18. From the bunker, you got to hit a big boy shot and when the time required it, he absolutely delivered. So at the end of it, it was proper U.S. open golf fun. Even though it was the first time champion certainly a worthy winner and I thought it was a fun watch all the way around. Do you think Fitzpatrick's shot out of the bunker is going to be up there like say with the Corey pavin shinnecock mashy or something like that or are you going to be talking about this years from now? Do you think? That's the way Torres framed it. I mean, and if you watched, he went over an eyeball, 'cause I mean, he had a great drive and he's got a, you know, at that point, you're down one, you want to know, what are we looking at here? So he went over and took a look and he called it a one in 20 shot that Fitzpatrick hit. He said it was pretty ballsy and it certainly was. And I mean, I think we tend to do this a lot in sports. You and I have talked about this. You and I talk on a Monday after what happens Sunday and it's fresh and you tend to think this will be a forever shot. I don't know if it's that. But I know that in golf circles, people are will remember at that moment and say, here's a guy that had never won had a one shot lead and had to step up and hit it, and he hit it to 15, 20 feet. So it's worthy of being discussed. I just, I don't know, I don't know if history will remember it the way it does some others. Scott van pelt here on the rich eisen show. And I know you mentioned how the course in Brookline had not had a major, but it had a writer cup. I went to it. I was on SportsCenter at the time. And it was a quick drive up there. Did you see Justin Leonard wearing, I guess, the zip up version of that awful shirt that those guys wore the United States side did you see that? Golf's had some poor outfits. I know. We just call it what it is. I mean, there have been some poor outfits through the years, and that was, I mean, I guess it was meant to feel like the wall of an old locker room or something. But that was. That was a truly insane day, and you were there. So as I was there, this were there. But the shot Leonard hits a forever shot, you know, and they'll talk, I mean, there was a great video of Justin Lennon, excuse me, of Justin Thomas and Scottie scheffler, dropping a ball during the practice round when Leonard was out walking around dropping it similar to hit the shot. Right. That's one of those spots on a green where you're like, that's where that dude hit that shot. Did then a European come out and complain about everybody trampling on their line? Did that happen as well? That wasn't game wasn't over. You know, we definitely don't.

We had that conversation at the top of our show. If you missed that, or if you missed Robert sala of the New York Jets or Darren Waller of the Las Vegas Raiders, there is our YouTube stream YouTube dot com slash rich eisen show. We have yet to really dive into the United States open and what went down in Brookline, Massachusetts, and as soon as that ended, I interrupted the Father's Day of this man and say, I would like you to call him to my show. And he said, okay, because he is Scott van pelt, the magical van peasy back here on the rich eyes and show on the Mercedes Benz vans phone line. How are you do Scott? I'm well. Well, it didn't interrupt anything. I was just enjoying Father's Day as I trust and hope you did and all the dads out there always good to visit with you. And here we are. I discussed it earlier in the program, Scott, and it's rife. It's rife. It's a third rail conversation in a way that the difference between Mother's Day and Father's Day and how we try to make Mother's Day special as possible. Dressing up or going out to do something particularly special for that day. It's what it's what moms deserve and that's not the way it goes on Father's Day and it's got nothing to do other than the fact that most fathers for Father's Day just want to be left alone. And I'm wondering if you agree with that assessment. Scott. Well, rich we're down at the beach. And I'm going to give him a pop. There's a place that down in a little beach town called Bethany beach Delaware. It's called the sandy pony and they make delicious donuts. And when we came down, we got some sandy pony donuts. And on Father's Day when I woke up, woke up, I thought, hey, maybe some donuts went up. And there was a two day old sandy pony donut that was left over.

He has this is the 2015 edition of the print the shirt shirt with me wearing a Golden State Warriors T-shirt. I forget the name of the artist who did it. He was a basketball player and he broke his leg and he said he was bored and he'd like to make t-shirts, so he was like, do you want me to make you up some t-shirts? All right, so that shirt now is 7 years old. What was the, that was a little bit before it was mainstream to have some of those cotton fiber polyester blends. So what are we talking about here? What make is that shirt? I don't know, I'm trying to figure out the thread count right now. I mean, there's a stretchiness to it. It doesn't, it doesn't feel like the 100% cotton's we used to wear back in the day as kids that now if you put it on, you feel like you're starched stiff, right? Like you just like, what the fuck is this? Right? It's comfy. Look, I wore this. I wore this frequent rotation, not out of rotation in the summer that we got these. And people love them. Hey, where can I get one? You can't. That's the key. Unless you can't, unless you're contact with Silla, who may have a gross of them. I don't know. Yeah, I have a ton of stuff left over and I've never known what to do with it. I guess I assumed at some point my kids would enjoy it and then they could pass it on. How's that working out? You're not great. Now we just have a lot of shirts. Not that many kids. It's time. I'm proof. I'm your GPS. I'm your blueprint. There's still time. Before we get to the golf and other stuff, I'm going to share maybe I don't do this right away. But I don't know that I should do it, but I'm going to do it. I was buying deli meat the other day at my local butcher shop here in Manhattan beach. I was watching a kid, boy, I don't know, 6, 8. I'm not great with it. "Outfit before we get to Scott van pelt, we're just talking about Frank Vogel being fired by woj bomb. I've never seen anything like it. I'm assuming we're going to hear today, maybe the Lakers might hang on to Frank Vogel for another day just to make it seem like, you know, they didn't fire him or somebody didn't tell what was about it before telling the coach. And by the way, I saw locally here the Lakers broadcast. The studio show with the great James worthy and Robert Ori, who's got a million rings. You know, they were upset with woj and it's just like, hey, he's got the information. What's he not gonna do? Report it? Until Frank's informed first, if somebody from the Lakers is calling him up and saying, Frank's out. Oh yeah, when you're going to tell him Monday. Okay. What is it? Who's next? What do you got? Well, it's going to be extensive. It's going to be long and you know, it's going to be long because I don't know how many coaches are going to want to come here. You know, especially the rosters its currently stands right now. Here in Los Angeles, Brian windhorst said last week. It's going to be at least a year to dig through Russell Westbrook, who's nobody's going to take. And Vogel was the one who was supposed to try and keep this whole thing together. And trying to move it forward and he won a championship in the bubble. So you want to talk about somebody who knows how to put pieces together under difficult circumstances. That's one guy. But who's going to want to come here and know that somebody's going to be potentially firing you through loads? Or as Bill Orem wrote about in the athletic, the general manager and Kurt rambis, the rabbi, who are here. The rambus family, the general manager and Kurt rambis, apparently coming into video room and talking about stuff. And Franks like, you know, they can tell me they're just, you know, they're like assistant coaches. They have, they have some say, but they say is a final one for me. He has the final settings, what Frank Vogel is going to say. I would say Adrian Morgan is the final say. So Richard has send button has the final say. You think through and have a hard time getting coaching candidates? Oh, yes. They come to coach the Lakers? Yes. I do. I don't know if you saw this, rich, but one name that's been floated is juwan Howard. Yes. Okay. All right? Nick nurse, another one. Why would they want to come here? Yeah, so I'm asking you. Okay. Will they pay him all that money? Well, they pay him money because they didn't pay it to Frank Vogel. Well, I don't know. Maybe you should get Sally Field to work on the books and figure out how they could pay them. I was rich. As we all know, that doesn't go too well sometimes. We'll have a bunch of bounce checks, you know? And then hey man, if you want Howard wants to come here and coach LeBron and come out here and trying to figure out what Russell Westbrook and leave Michigan and what have you, if that's really what he would like to do or the Lakers want to kick the tires on that. I don't know. I know it's a job that is it's the Lakers. I'm even a fan. I got it. But I get what you're saying, but as Brian windhorst said yesterday, how many players in the world are going to say I want to play for the Lakers? It's a different world. Maybe the same thing for coaches. Certainly if you see what's going on with Frank, hey, Frank, what's going on there? General manager. What's going on there with the rambus is, how are they involved? Tell me what's going on there. What happened with LeBron? Hunter Russ wind up on the team. 41 different rotations and starting rotations. How did that work out? What happened? Who told lodge? Okay. I guess for ten figures a year, or not, not ten figures, you know what I'm saying? Mid 9. A lot, a lot of scratch. 7. Let's see how it plays out. It's all I'm saying. But we'll hear what LeBron's still talking about. Later on on the show. For the moment, though, let's turn to our friend fresh back from Augusta national on the Mercedes Benz vans phone line, a fellow nominee for best studio personality or whatever the official word for it is. For the Emmy Awards, he's our friend from the midnight sports center and more back from Augusta national Scott van pelt on the Mercedes Benz vans, phone line. How are you Scott? I'm well. I'm well. And congrats, by the way, on that nomination. It's always nice to be included in that list and sincerely humbling and all that. So that's nice of you to say and congrats. And I'll see you in New York, I hope. Right back at you, right back at you. That was not the sentiment you told Ernie Johnson on the text exchange. We all had privately that I'm not bringing public Scott. Yeah, I said, I hate Ernie Johnson. I said, oh, wait, did I send this to everyone? Yeah, you replied to all. We obviously knew what we were doing. Ernie is one of the kindest was one most wonderful souls in the world. And we all need him because he wins every time. Let's just call it what it is. Not to put too fine a point on it. You're not wrong. You're not wrong. I got enough. It's like cautious back in the day. I used to lose to him. Now I lose to Ernie, but maybe one of these days, or I'll just be Susan Lucci, it's fine. Where do we want to start? I was on with my dear friend here in D.C. who has podcast and he said that the story that we can Tiger Woods. And I said, hold on, hold on. Hold on. I'm with you. I know where you're going. You got this number one in the world. Just won three of his last 5 events shows up and wins. That's the story of the weekend. Now, if you want to tell me the overarching headline was Tiger, I'm not arguing. We certainly are ratings benefited. I'm sure CVS will have as well. And Tiger is a massive story, but Scottie scheffler winning is the headline and rightly so you win and you're the headline. Well, I'm with you. And I figured, again, who better to have on than you to tell me who this guy is and where all this came from, right? I mean, middle of February, nobody had any idea that this could be happening. No. Here's what's interesting is that in kind of these last couple of years because of the way things have happened and it's so easy to forget when and where and what, right? Because it's just this fog. And in November, 2020, when the masters was played then, I went over, no one was there. It's empty. And I went over to introduce myself to Scotty because I hadn't met him, but prior to that in August at the PGA Championship and Harding park out in San Francisco, he played brilliantly and was in the final group. And it was just obvious that even though he was new to the stage, he just something about him the way he carried himself. He was young, but he felt mature. And I don't want to say, oh, it just felt very mature. And so I just walked over and he was coming up the 18th, and I said, hey, and we'd be asked for a few minutes. And I just said, man, it's going to be out here a long time and have a blast and be great. You're going to want to talk. Because I said it because I thought it. And he hadn't yet. And then in Phoenix he wins. And then he wins Orlando at bay hill. And then he wins a match play. So that's completely different deal. And now he wins a major. And so I think in the game rich people thought he was a dude. Like he had it. He was going to be a guy. And then in the Ryder Cup too, I don't want to miss that. Right. I think John rahm there and beat the then world number one and just put on a show. And so at every turn, he's shown that he had the goods, but for it all to happen at warp speed and to ramp up to number one. And then we and as world number one and to win the way he did, that's the kind of stuff that makes you have to really stop and ask. All right, well, what are we talking about? What type of trajectory are we on? Trajectory. Trajectory. I can't do it. Trajectory. Emmy nominees got to tell you. We're all together. I'm there for you. The sentence structure..

"Well, you know what? I agree. So putting it all together, if UNC beats duke and then cuts down the nets and then Tiger reappears at Augusta after everything, then we know Stewart Scott is pulling some levers wherever he's sitting right now above us. Yeah, then we know that that would be a fact. My chest and pulling my finger to the sky and say my man. We're thinking of you as we often do and we appreciate you. That would certainly indicate that he's got some he's got some sweat. He's got some sway, he's got some Jewish. We all know he does as we turn our pillow over to the cool side. I'll tell you this story in letting you go. I don't know if I've ever told you this story. But Stuart Scott and I were at Jimmy V golf tournament, the famed Jimmy V, the V foundation charity, and the golf tournament down in Raleigh. And it was huge, man. Back in the day, late 90s, Michael Jordan would be there and Charles Barkley and all the college coaches would be there in Raleigh in the middle of the summer. So Stuart and I pull up, we're getting ready to play golf and we're at the backdrop at the golf course and who pulls up, but Mike's your chevsky, okay? In the car and he drops off his bag at the bag drop and we watch him maneuver his car to go back to the parking lot and it was a K turn. We watched him make a K turn in his car and Stuart and I looked at each other and were like, did we just watch coach K, make a K turn in his car, and it's similar to that SportsCenter commercial like you and him watching Arnold Palmer making an Arnold Palmer. It literally was a real life. This is SportsCenter commercial, which is watching that. How is how is no one rolling tape? It's before Twitter. Before everything. The most iconic of those spots are just those. Arnold Palmer making iced tea and lemonade and Stewart, there's nothing to say. You watch the man make a cater. Now, did Stewart go casually walk over and key the man's car to help? No, I do believe one of the people he dropped off was Roy Williams who Stewart would always tell because he was with Kansas at the time that he was at the wrong school, you know, he would tell Roy a frequently that he needed to come home. Which he eventually did as we all know. But no, he did not Stewart. Stew definitely loved coach K and everything about it. But when it all came down to it, I think it was a duke Carolina game that Stuart and I, when we were first paired together, we were on right after, unlike an 11 o'clock SportsCenter and Dick Vitale mentioned us, hey, stick around for rich and stew, what a great team they are. And we looked at each other like, okay, where we have arrived. And just to bring it all together, Mike mcquaid, who you just mentioned, was the producer in the year of Dan and Keith for the big show, and so we were trying to be just as big as them or as significant as that team. And when we heard dick say that, we kind of looked at each other like, okay, this is pretty cool, you know? You know what? That's such a great story because dick dick has that kind of thing. I mean, not a king maker in the sense, but if he took note of who you were at at a time before you became what you became, right? That's a little bit of get your chest a little swollen feel good about it. And then off you go and you do a show and what fun it is to remember, right? No doubt you did it. I was lucky enough to do it. Sit there with Stewart following a Carolina duke game and now here comes the biggest one there's ever been. You did me a favor by reaching out because I got a gigantic smile on my face thinking about my friend and I appreciate that. It's great fun to remember. You the man Scott van pelt love you, brother. Let's do this more often, and any time I could be of any guest service to you, I'm always around. You know that. I appreciate you. Be well rich until next time stay good, okay. You're the man at not the fake SVP of must follow on Twitter. I do it. You should as well. Scott van pelt here on the rich eisen show. Some old school stuff, right? Bring them back sweet memories. I do remember I think it was Carolina duke stew and I were following it. I forget which game it was, but I just do remember, you know, we're sitting there coming up next and Dickie V when they read, you know, I think it was probably Mike Patrick doing the game with dick or something like Patrick. Remember that? Yeah. And I also think it was that combination and Stewart's when he's like, hey, Stuart rich eisen and Stewart Scott sitting getting ready to do sports after dicks. Stu and rich, they're terrific. I watch them all the time. They're incredible. They're wonderful. So you've got to stick around to it, whatever. Let's do an I would kind of look at each other. Well, that's when we went from diaper dandies to PT peers. So I send my best to dick too. You know, he's out there. He's tweeting about how he's going through chemo. Cancer treatments. And he's a Jimmy V's dick was there. And when he got up on the stage and started talking to the crowd about the seriousness of cancer and let's beat cancer, I mean, I'm getting goosebumps just hearing the way he would speak in the room and it was just so opposite the guy that you saw on television and it was so jarring the first time I saw it and I just remember about like who how in the world do you not give in after hearing that? Like sidewinder of a speech in a room. And so the fact that he's going through his own experience right now with cancer, I send my best to him. Absolutely. Love that guy. Called me on my honeymoon. Oh yeah? I never told that story. I'll tell you this story when I come back. Eat into your one last item for your news. And then there's the SVP of football ops is spoken about the taunting rule. That's Troy Benson. Let's take a break. Lots to get to before we close up shop on a busy Tuesday. Back here, 8 four four two O four rich is the number to dial. Real quick, Dick Vitale, after I left ESPN..

"Let's place this aside for the moment we've been talking quite a bit about this moment. And I just want to focus again on the final four that's coming up this weekend because I left here yesterday and I thought to myself I always bring his name up trying to keep his name alive his legacy alive. Any time there's a big sporting event you certainly in the basketball world I think what would Stewart Scott think. And now you've got his beloved tar heels on a remarkable run sparked by ruining the Cameron indoor party for coach K and his final home game as coach and now here they are facing each other for the first time ever in the NCAA tournament and it's in the final four and they could send coach came to retirement and I just think to myself what would Stewart think and I thought who would be great to talk about it and it's this next guest joining me on the Mercedes Benz vans phone line, one of my favorite people keeping the old school sports center light and spirit alive every single night at midnight with his version of the show and he has Scott van pelt in the Mercedes Benz vans phone line. How are you doing Scott? Better than been too long been too long and it has been you know how this goes in this business, right? Like your Friends that you watch and I'll see you whether it's some clip I see on Twitter or wherever and hopefully vice versa somehow you're vaguely aware of what we're doing and but this is so much better to actually sort of shake hands and hug from afar. So thanks for having me back. Is exactly that and I was thinking of you the other day because I whenever Stewart pops in my brain, I think of the folks at SportsCenter and ESPN who were there with him back in the day and Stuart pumps in my brain any time in North Carolina does well in anything. And I'm like, who can I call to reach out to to have this conversation about Stewart Scott and what we're seeing right now because what we're seeing right now is not just a run by North Carolina the fact that here they are again now in the final four against coach Kay again after what happened at Cameron and this could be coach Kay's last game or not and it's their first final four appearance. This is off the charts and I'm like, I got to call Scott and just throw that in your lap, which I just did. I love it. It makes me, it makes me smile to think about our friend. And it made me remember being on the set at ten years ago now, which is impossible to fathom, but it's 2012. And Stewart and I are going to follow duke Carolina. And it's in Chapel Hill and Caroline is winning fairly comfortably most of the game. And then it's one of those things that happens in rivalry games, which starts maybe duke's got a shocking, maybe just got a shot here. Well, Austin rivers hit the shot. They went at the buzzer 85 84. Now this is very insight TV, but I'll explain it in a way that would hopefully make sense if you don't do TV. When you're following a live event and the director gets in your ear, the IFB, the thing that's in your ear and says next counts to us. What that means is the event is live. It just hits this miraculous shot, but in 20 seconds, you're on. And Stewart and I are meant to follow this game. And you know it's got a massive audience because the game's incredible and Carolina has just lost like this and there's next to us and they're counting it down and Stewart and Iger standing their silence. And I look at him and.

"What do I mean by this? I mean, we've been on the air 7 plus years, this fall will be 8 anniversary of the rich eisen show and TJ Jefferson, you have done an exemplary job over the last two days, not anything out of the ordinary. You bring you bring your a game every single day. And I don't want you to feel left out, Jay felly, because you bring your own sense of self and essence and body ink that del two photos and bring to that seat. Now back brace, I think you're handling your business very well. You've got your one shot. You're doing a great job. That's what's up. Thank you very much. Appreciate that chance, okay? And chance the rapper. This is just a very long wind up. Scott van pelt is about to join us on this program. And it'll be great. And so the reason why I'm bringing this up is you, TJ Jefferson, have done an exemplary job with brockman saying, hey, I need a couple days off. I'm going to Cabo. With Sarah Tiana and cage. International international cage. Trying to be like you, my boy. And so he's there. You did a great job doing overreaction Monday yesterday. Thank you. I appreciate it. Just terrific. You came out with you came up. You came out with the construct, you fed the machine very well. And I'm not the machine. No, no, no. The machine of you placing something that is being discussed, writ large, by the sports community, and I react to it saying it's either an overreaction or not. And you included the Oscars and Will Smith and Chris Rock in it as well. I mean, you went topical. Sports, it was great. In other words, I didn't miss Chris. And so. Another staple of this program, that Chris brockman does every now and then is the news. Okay. And you're about to endeavor that and that's what I mean by a crossroads. So if you complete this double dip before he arrives back here tomorrow, then, you know, me bringing it up might be a little more awkward than I'm planning it to be. Full disclosure to my people at home. And there's no America in worldwide. I tried to be real with you people. A little nervous, because I've never actually done the news on this show before, so. I know that. We're going to see how this goes. Why are you nervous? It's just the news. Well, a billion people potentially will watching me right now. Okay. Now I'm nervous. I don't get nervous. All right, so do we play the drop? Okay, we'll do it. Hit it, hit it, go for it. And now with a report of the day's news from the world of sports entertainment, someone who is not a journalist or newsman by any definition of the word whatsoever, it's TJ. DJ. Oh, nice. Well.

"You know these. These are the rules. When you are at that level you were then held to a different standard. It's why we're more critical of russell westbrook than we would be kemba walker all right guys. Mvp and the other guys like. Oh that's that guy from yukon and scores allow already granted. Maybe that's not the perfect analogy but you get the point so when you are at that top threshold. You're going to be held with certain standards for you and you're coming off a national title for state auburn and in come in next and you're like i don't know i don't know about this team and again. They got smashed by oregon out of the rose bowl. It's like okay so they did have some issues and then it actually turned into if florida state fan fueled thing remember that rolling stone article. They let a florida state alum right about how. Espn was like it was so dumb. It's it was one of the worst art because it was like the guy was like The sports anchor said on. Espn that Arizona beat arizona state. Thirty eight twenty eight. He goes but then he said florida state barely gets by unc. Thirty eight twenty eight and it's like see see the way. They framed it. And you're like oh my god you guys have guys are just on air saying stuff trying to get through the scores. You're giving all those updates. And again i just made up off the top of my head and then when jimbo poured gasoline on top of it where he was like well. You know Is he's he's with. Espn and espn sec. They get a lot of money involved in. You're like okay. So you're doing it too. And that was the ultimate jimbo. Shut me down. When i had been studios. Have you realize when you say that like this this and this gym good enough it he just. It was actually brilliant day. Whatever dick like slammed the brakes on my whole point that i was going to make. That was a window of florida state. Where i was like. This isn't even specific. Florida state. like this happens all time and honestly of all the florida schools. I probably like tallahassee and florida state. More i like if they all were in a royal rumble. I'd probably be rooting for state. So i don't take there's no part of me that watches the jacksonville state game where i'm like. Oh good. I don't even carry more. And i've never been anti florida state other than that. Sliver of time were florida state. Twitter was out of control for like a year. Plus we thought the world's out to get him as like now your title. Winning team doesn't look as good. And now you're being scrutinized because you're in the spotlight as much as any program in the country that that's that's perfectly said. Florida state twitter was at at its peak was just amazing and it was everything. It was us in bed with the sec. To which would always try to do you understand is if they don't we're we're all in bed. Well now. there's as pineapples every well. It's a whole it's a whole lot harder to say. Now the espn put a ton of money into the sec network. As well as again. We're all we're in bed. But i just moved back as you're talking and look and i remember. They were down twenty one. Nothing will and they managed to come back or come back in. Got a late score to win by eleven so in the end it was it was just kept. James kept pulling rabbits out hats. So when they good absolutely trucked by oregon in pasadena. That was one. Where i i think everyone immediate. That's this is being on. Its own with no one in media had a funeral or had like a second line for for the florida state fan base because you guys earn whatever sort of snickers you got because how you are convinced that the everybody in her mama was the guest you but now now like he lost jacksonville state and i mean it's it. There's been a litany of these things that have happened since to me there. They're look at what they illustrate. They're not that far removed like they wanna play off in the playoffs. Us's never been in it so state just like as for state has a million reasons why they could back recruiting base history facilities fan base. Yada yada yada. But the fact that they are stuck in a place where they're spinning their wheels is i think illustrates an instructive. It should be anyway to big powers of really really offered. It's really hard. That's why the point you make georgia's a great one. They're the ones who pass away from what the title in a game. Where they they were better for fifty five minutes against bam in that title game. They lost in overtime. And but they're they're they're they're right there with a chance. And maybe you feel johnny brown up to kick the football and you wonder if you're gonna kick it but i'd rather at least be football sitting on sitting over there remember when it used to be. Yeah by the way real quick. That was the last. Bcs game actually. Florida state and auburn and then they lost the off. I just wanted to clean that up other no accountable were. That's that's what people always said about him. I do want to show in management but there accountable Don't cheese well coming up all right. Here's here's a we're gonna get real here because we do some life advice relationship guys. At what point did my friend. Scott van pelt say you know what four. Am recruiting guys in a video game. Let's start a family. You know ryan you'll be. You'll be pleased. No last night a came home and fired up gave in and played a game. I guess what i'm saying. I guess what. I'm saying to the people out there find you. A guy who can do both juggle juggle three shelter. Early wake-up galls. Kobe tests at school. Little guys freaking out ready to fight the world and and take that program to what happened. Last year was was was in the middle of pandemic. When big cat dusted off that game play. I actually said let me go five that game. And then it's it's the that jude housing. It's worked gene. Is the perfect comedown late at night when you cut because you can sit there in the dark. The glow of screen. It's sort of agnostic. So i guess what i'm saying is I'm doing both now. But at what point did i realize that bat life was. I think what i think in. The i started doing the the math riot. I talk a lot about sleep bath. You know when you when you're up late alarms going off seven. It's three thirty and you're gonna fall asleep right now do this. I started doing the. If i got married right now had kids. I'll probably be dead before they're gonna get married in that kind of bumpy out. So i just thought i thought we should probably start. Start a life before. I was dead. That's that's kind of what happened to me. Did say to me once. Say you were like He said it was an incredible line. That was excel. You know and because i am i am head down with a with a neck roll on towards the alternative version of what you have now and you'd you. I don't want it to be. That really old guy dropped his kids off at the dorm that everybody makes fun. I remember one of our one of our college friends like his dad showed up like wiser grandfather moving. You like what is going on. Yeah that's gonna be me. But hopefully i'm so fucking famous people be like that's awesome speaking of fame. Take us through that new truck ad that you have I didn't think of you as a truck guy. I like that you're expanding out. The scott van pelt experienced slash.

I think it's gonna go all over the place. Good you what i want to start with. This is on the unfortunate passing. Enor- mcdonald's I this doesn't happen very often. But have almost everybody. On social media road in the same direction with his brilliance and finding something that he did that they liked and look. I don't care what the topic is. Eventually there's always zag and look norm. Wasn't afraid to probably do some stuff that wouldn't be as well received today but i was but we got to meet him once. I think you probably met him more than i did we. We had him in studio one time and he just that guy like he cannot be funny in. It's the funniest thing ever which is so hard to do. I'm gonna pay you compliment right out of the gate and save. The the and i didn't own. I don't know that. I realized it at the time in this wormhole i've been in. Since yesterday i realised russillo had a lot of nor mcdowell. And here's what i'm talking about. You commit to a bit a you care if you're five minutes in and you're like Getting there you're gonna stay with the bit. Like mcdonald's would do a joke on conan about a moth or about you know a dog house and it would just get to the point where maybe it was uncomfortable for somebody else but he was gonna get to the finish lepine and it would it would pale and i think the i think if you're great you got these seminal moments that people points you say this performance or that performance. "And that doesn't mean that Michigan couldn't lose the floor State or the banlieues UCLA. I'm just saying if if we got the one in that the one in the two and they play to their ceilings. I'm really interested in who's better if that happens. Listen, I don't think I don't want to say this but I think it's true like sweet sixteen matchups aren't awesome and dark out. You know Cowherd had the Great Line years ago about upsets. Everybody loves the upset until the next round when it's like, oh, I would probably rather seen the the better team, right? Yeah. I don't I don't I'm not really that interested in Alabama UCLA. Like I'm not I don't think you still I did enough to even really get in the tournament and they've been three whole home, you know a bad Michigan State team. I mean and a couple of teams that really they've had a nice easy road. So yeah, listen the elite eight matchups could be fair wage. Has to agree absolutely fantastic, you know the sweet sixteen matchup Baylor Villanova. I saw it a year ago in Myrtle Beach believe it or not. That was the first time I saw that counted this Baylor team and phone number after the game. They beat Villanova. And what was the best offensive game? I saw all of last season and remember that I remember telling Scott drew. I talked to Jerry Butler after the game and and I told Scott. I'm like, I think you got something like really really special here. Yeah. First of all, you just be billing Nova like like Villanova. It's just that program and I wish they had Colin Kaepernick because I think there should be the by far the best game of the sweet sixteen agree. It wouldn't be closed. I just don't know. I just don't know if Villanova can you know the first two games against women in north Texas now you go to Baylor and oh by the way Baylor's got like to em effers for guards like like like in Mark vital upfront like the mark vital Jeremiah Rob..

You know, listen the bottom line here is it gets old, you know, like hearing about homo and his his knees and it's 19 inch vertical it gets a little old. So Scott Van Pelt going solo here and we're just going to talk some hoops. We're literally just going to talk some hoops. Right Scott. I love it. I mean, it's a great time of year and a lot of the news. I mean some interesting news today that you're right there in the middle of what a great. What a great guy. What a great coach Lon Kruger is the best. I mean, honestly one of the best human beings you will ever deal with I don't know how much you dealt with them. I'm sure yeah, I'm out. Yeah, I mean he just like the the best thing about Lon Kruger is you walk into the arena before a game Scott and he's sitting there by himself in the stands wage. Like most coaches are on the bench. They don't want to be bothered while on cruise literally in the stands. So anything can go up and sit next to him and start talking to him an hour before the game. Like just a different dude. Every practice is open. The sport is going to miss Lon Kruger. Yeah, but I think I mean you saw the joy and that Zoom call with his son and off now. I mean, I you know, here's the thing about this profession and you could probably say about a lot of professions you do it and there's a there's this treadmill kind of a deal right where you just on the treadmill is a grinding but it's not a treadmill because time's passing and you know, there's a rhythm to it and obviously it's been disrupted this year. But I mean, there's the season and then there's the spring and then there's a summer in Europe when you get in with your guys and then it's fall and then you into it and then it's conference and then hopefully you're in a tournament and then it starts again, right? Well you look up and it's like wow man twenty years. Years like it's in a blink and I I think I look I get why for Bay Haim or 4K or for any of these Uber successful coaches, like you keep doing it off, you know a particularly like in case case you gotta you got a grandson right? And then Jim's case you got a son like you got like I get staying in but I I respect the hell out of somebody that has the ability to.

Dak Prescott reveals he got help for depression: "It saves lives"

"Scott Van Pelt. One big thing was about Dak Prescott and Prescott spoke out about depression skip bayless criticized him for it and Scott. Van Pelt. made it as one big thing last night. We track that down for you. Here's Scott last night on sports center. We've never had more access to athletes than we do right now, social media has allowed them to control message and their brand like never before, but it's more than that. The modern athlete is more willing than his or her predecessors to share themselves in ways that reveal humanity their vulnerability. It's easy to lose sight of the fact that these stars are just like we are because we won't ever be in. Line for thirty, some odd million dollar a year contract. We won't ever be the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, but we all carry around things with us pain burdens years, and they get heavy is the real. Even if you're the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott shared with Graham Bensinger that following his brother's death by suicide, he struggled with the pressure that the isolation of quarantine impacted him significantly as well. Prescott shared this. When you have those that you've never had I think that's more more than anything the chance to realize and recognize it on to be vulnerable about it. And that's what's so different about the modern athlete, not instagram or brand management. It's the understanding that there will be understanding that you don't have to pretend to be tough when you aren't that you can ask for help and know that it's going to be met with compassion for the most part. And also to know that those who can't muster any? Aren't worth your time. We're concern. Yeah, I'm there's. Fell the last sentence was my favorite part in George Dino in L Z granderson joining us now for cross. The lesson was my favorite part. The encouraging part about this whole skip bayless Dak Prescott thing guys is the reaction to it from everybody else that Dak Prescott was universally welcomed after somebody tried to criticize him for being vulnerable and that's when that's when you know you've turned a corner when the when the reaction is. So overwhelmingly one sided. George. What'd you think about all that stuff? Look I've worked with skip before on first take many years ago and I think skip is a nice man. I think what the problem is that people don't realize is that he has a very one track mind. If you notice, there was a huge mistake. He made a mistake not that long ago. I remember when Paul Paul Ryan, kind of delved into sports in one of these political debates can. There was a clip that went viral about him. Not even knowing who was right like that's just who is and I'm not look I'm not condoning what he said at all I think what he said was reprehensible like I someone particularly who has suffered from depression who has had real struggles dealing with loss at times as many of us has Scott pointed out right I think he's a very nice person off the air I just think he's not very worldly or standing of anything that's not in his particular sphere or circle, and most of it is sports

Tiger Woods: Call it a comeback, but don't be surprised

"In the last decade. Tiger Woods still has as many PGA tour wins as Dustin Johnson. And tiger was away not playing for five of those years. Okay. So Scott van pelt is with us. Now what we just saw yesterday can can be announced. Does it have to be a major like it seems pretty clear that tiger's playing tiger Gulf right now. Yeah. For sure I mean, he has for much of the year and. All you laughed, and we talked about what it would take for tiger to be sort of in five by the populace as back or or his popularity to be whenever level. I thought it would take one one major. And I just I think the reaction we saw yesterday. Not a major but a very elite albeit small field. I think tells you yes, he's he's he's he occupies a space occupies in terms of people's courts in mind, which is really actually fascinating to a lot of his. Changes to the level of love, and and the level of to people have they just wanted to see him do this again and that scene on eighteen yesterday. I tweeted something about it. And I believe this to be true. I believe there's one athlete in sports. They could create that scene in an attempt. What do you think about the conversation? You had with him afterward. Did what was interesting about it? He's he's genuinely moved by the level of love people have for him. And I mean, I I've known him a long time, and I've seen all sorts of incarnations of his personality and his level looks status, and I told him years ago, it some version of it. It feels good to let people hug you. If you let them meaning fans that don't don't I get the television that get boxing out. I get it. It serves a purpose. But just let people love you. And this time around he's clearly appreciating and tapping into that he told me in a portion of the that we didn't actually use on the television. I think dot com. I don't know. But he said that this support has helped him he said, it is absolutely helped me during rounds to do better than I might have done otherwise and he blocked out in the past. And now he's using it as as like fuel in a video game or something. And I I think that's great. I think it's just it's reveals a more human side to a guy that for a long term. I think tempted to push that away for whatever we've got. There is something to be said for for dance. I question because I think everyone used the phrase Tigers back he's back. He's back. And I think when we talked about tiger being back. I think we all magin it'd be hand putting on a green jacket and the Butler cabin. That would be tiger. That would six something like that. Clearly playing well enough to do that. There's no nobody has it done it. Yeah. I understand. But right now, Scott if I make the masters tomorrow, who's the favorite and how close is he to being the favourite? But he is right now and part of that has to do with just he's he's also a singular sort of threat to Vegas because more people will bet on him than anybody in a few wins in that level of exposure to the houses problem, but his level of play would be sex Dickey be a rightful of favorites if not the favorite one of the favorites. And I mean look at this year guys like when he majors really hard. He he made us forget that. But at the open he had the lead on the back nine, and he kinda freaked out and have one moment where he slipped up in the guy he was playing with didn't make a single bogey any lost the Molinari's. And then he was right there in the mix at the PGA. But couldn't quite catch Brooks KEPCO who won two majors this year. So I think those are the reminders of of like, there's a there's a there's a race of golfer that he has spawned these Frankenstein people like Brooks who who are big and an athletic and all these guys like, you know, just the speed and the days. Thomas is in all these guys they were spawned by tiger. So now he has to he has to compete with them. And it'll be hard to be all of those people. I mean, it's hard to win a major any any time. But he's you know, he's on the other side of the fused background go, blah, all all of this just to say winning a major will be difficult. But there's no reason to think that he won't be there with the chance certainly starting

The road-weary Boston Celtics face their toughest challenge yet

"For just the way the game has been played and i've been able to be successful game six tonight in cleveland cavs hosting the celtics game seven would be in boston on sunday night paul pierce from the jump bond sportscenter scott van pelt says look the celtics need to be ready for fullscale lebron in game six back against the wall he's gonna step up you know just like two thousand eight game seventy care forty five so they have to be ready for that just mentally physically just a whiff stan lebron's run because he's gonna he's gonna leave it all out there and just like in game six when he was with the miami heat in two thousand twelve he came in the boston and put one of those greater games on so boston has to be prepared for that not only in game six if they don't win that game but game seven also in the boston garden because he's done it before he went into the boston garden had a tremendous game so they gotta know it's going to be tough to put lebron james team out of the playoffs game six tonight in cleveland the series is on the brawn we we spend a lot of time you know discussing tyron lose substitution patterns and should kyle korver have played more in you know can they squeeze a little bit more out of guys like tristan thompson or can they get anything from jr smith those things matter but ultimately not that much we're not talking about them if lebron is great tim legler espn nba analyst on the six pm sportscenter yesterday last night says ultimately this series falls on lebron and not his teammates the problem is you have to look at the limitations of their personnel so for me it does fall abroad james he might need to more forty point games to get through this round if that's what it takes because when you look at the rest of the guys on their team for the most part they are one dimensional offensive players everything is predicated on lebron james ability to score create offense for them i said it all season i don't think i've ever seen a team more dependent upon one player.
