"The best answer for this. Whose career is a major league? Baseball may well be over. He headed over to Japan for two thousand twenty. We'll see harvey no Adam Jones Jones. I think Adam. Jones was viewed by a lot of people as a legitimate. Star Star in baseball during that good orioles run where he made four consecutive, all star teams from twelve to fifteen. I don't think history is going to be kind to the perception that he was a star. Top thousand eight thirty nine. Oh P. S He was never an on base. Percentage guy is career. Slash lines to seventy, seven, three, seventy, four, fifty four. He's GonNa. Finish with fewer than his about thirty two wins above replacement Like Great Leader and it was the face of those orioles franchise, and may have been their best player in individual years never once ranked in the top ten in position players League wide a wins above replacement now one time. What about here's a name. What about Dan, Uggla? I don't know that like we view Dan Uggla. Like a star player at the time. I think what year like win was it? The thing with Uggla is that he debuted like a like a Bat Outta Hell with twenty seven homers, and there was going. GonNa say he hit like fucking. Thirty homers foot the first four years, five years, or something shows twenty, seven, thirty, one, thirty, two, thirty, one, thirty, three, thirty six. I think the thing with other. The one caveat is that everybody knew because he didn't debut until age twenty six that the. The run was never going to be a dairy right, yeah! And that ended up being very true, I mean. You know even the area at thirty six home runs, which was a career highest first year in at L., is dropped one hundred points from the year before like the the decline happened, it happened really fast. Anyway interesting question. Who is your? Who is your guy following the NBA draft? I know none of us are experts and I. Don't think anybody listening thinks that we're experts on college high school players, but let's so that we can claim that we were correct. I can make fun of Dallas for being extremely wrong later on. Let's plant our flag on a guy. Who is your guy from this draught? Shit. I mean I'm just GonNa fall back on the guy that we drafted the as. Purely because he's from my neighborhood. Tyler Soderstrom, okay, left-handed stick yet, not a catcher out of Turlock California no the best part about busy plays the catcher position, but his raw athleticism We'll probably see him land. That's frankly wherever he would like. Yeah, that's an incredible. That is really well done. a guy who does TV for team I got one nick bits go. Nick pit skill. That's go. He was the He was raised pick. He seventeen years old. He's he's. He was kind of like the. The track man advanced number spin rate, darling sort of thing. His track record extremely brief. What's what's funny about about that? Is You know like he sent out at somebody's sitting. I think he sent out a tweet or like you said something you know what posting my rap Soto, numbers and Blah. "One of the things that we We actually had AJ snack on last week. The director of long-gone summer. And I? Don't know when I when I watched it the first time. Louis have like the advanced screening of it like when people are watching it on Sunday night Everyone was pissed off. I mean like I. Feel like it was universally. Everyone was like what the fuck is this so You know I had some more thoughts on it watching it back. I think. And I kind of like brought this up a little bit in the in the interview with AJ snack. Being like you know, the chronological order was not. The most effective way to do it like if they had started the documentary being like showing them in front of Congress, and then being like record scratch. Bet You're wondering how we got here and it's like, and then you go into the summer of ninety, but like once you're an hour and fifteen minutes into the fucking documentary, and there hasn't even been a mention of steroids when everyone that's viewing. It knows what was actually happening I. I was on the run down yesterday. I said for the first hour and fifteen minutes. This came across as a documentary that was released in December of nineteen ninety eight. They were just like then. Here's what happened. And it was all good, and that was it. It's like the could've. You know at the end when you just. Kinda right out the story and how it finishes with some text. You know maybe over a nice picture that's slowly out of frame. You know that that's what could have been done. and both men went on to face Congress and deal with PD Gatien's and bubble. Just written out there fade to black and I feel like that would have. That would have honestly had the same impact because that was the visual that you got was okay here they are now. Congress guys are talking. Oh. Is that it was that it okay, I mean it was like when they had Sammy and big Mac involved in the documentary, but like. Percentage Wise. Sammy involved in big MACs documentary. Yeah, like eighty five percent, maybe more or big Mac and then some Sami sprinkled in there yeah, I mean I don't know it's. It is what it is it's. That I. Think about dating. There was there's no. Story behind the story like. Thirty for thirty documentary series. It's supposed to be like all right. What you know, what happened like you saw it live, but here's what happened that you couldn't see and it was just like no, here's what happened. Here's what you could see, so let's just remind you of that. Right like the last dance is a is a bad comparison, because one is a ten part series, and the other one is a you know our documentary, or whatever it was two hours or whatnot but there was no. Oh, it wasn't the flu. It was bad pizza moment you know, and that's what I think you're getting is there's no like. Oh Shit that was actually and I. Don't know if that was. That was ever going to be a thing because I think the story. Is What it is and we know obviously we know how finishes but we know everything that led up to. We know everything that was going on about it, we. We know that the PD cloud was what it was and. We know how Congress went. We understand how all of that went down so I think. Just sort of getting back to celebrating that time was something that a lot of people were hoping for, and they wanted a a story to be told behind it and I understand that. Maybe it doesn't feel like that's what would happen. That's what happened, but you got a lot of highlights. You got a lot of got a Lotta of. Far. homers could've seen all that shit on youtube like. Most the shit that I saw the documentary. I could just seen on youtube and like big Mac and Sami didn't say anything of Note. Really like there's nothing offered up there. That I was like. Wow, like haven't heard them say that before, or that was really interesting or while that's a perspective. That I expect to see from one of those guys so I don't know. I just didn't. I didn't get much from it. Other than a trip down memory lane which is. Is Fine if that's what you're looking for, but that's not what I was looking for. Let's say sometimes. I think that might be all it is and all you get, but yeah I I don't know like what sort of groundbreaking revelation like an origin story like who introduced you to steroids a who is the guy that was like? Hey, big MAC like you're out. There hidden bombs. I. Mean I know Jose can tell me the fucking story like tell me the story. I'm sympathetic to both sides here like I. I, there's no question that the vast majority of people I spoke to about the documentary following found it underwhelming or boring. To me, personally I had almost no interest in a thorough rehashing of the steroid era like I. Maybe not not all viewers have been I personally have been down that road so many times, and so like washed over with the steroid stuff. That like I wasn't looking for that, so there was a part of me. That enjoyed the ninety minutes of nostalgia because I was thirteen at the time that that season was happening. That was I obviously was.

"I would think I wrote briefly when I wrote about the injury that he's a little overrated as a fantasy asset. He's gonna he's like twenty to twenty five homers shortstop who knocks seventy five runs doesn't wanna batting titles. That's the only basis that's a good player is a love better player and fantasy like five years ago. Now he gets drowned out by the minions hitting millions of home runs. And the fact that shortstop is kind of deep. So my point there is like Seger's still really good player and three or four years ago. We've you'd him as a definite top fifty I don't. I don't view them that way anymore because everybody else is picking up steam like, like, for example, I remember what Tina was might have been the phillys or another team. They're on pace for the same home runs. They had last year, but it's not enough now because every other team is like seventy five percent more so court like, see what I'm saying on Cory Seager really good player, but barely top hundred for me now and durability plays a role in there, too. Sure. I'd agree with you on that Seger has disappeared. Did he did before this injury in the first place? I'm starting to wonder whether he's one of those players who fits the description and they're always a few of a better on field player, then a fantasy player brings better defense and the numbers are just not a lead for fantasy and we need to detach ourselves from the name brands that are involved here and I'm responsible as anybody for being procedure. I think he's going to be a great player in time, but he going to be an MVP caliber one. Maybe not maybe he locks in as an annual fifth rounder. That'd be great. That'd be a good career, I suppose he could I think what people look closer at the numbers, they're gonna see a guy who's good but not great. You know, and like I don't know why ranked him ahead of Attleboro modesty who stole more than like ten teams already. And you know, Mon is gonna go around to next year. I see your goes like around seven or eight so ranked about Amman. See because we didn't think that his played approach would result in these kinds of numbers new game gave and you can strike out a third of the time and still bad to eighty now. You can and I keep Abe inspecting like major aggression. Batting average Scott Kingery. I don't know if it's coming anymore. Really, don't have you hit the ball hard a lot. And he is you can strike out thirty percent of the time. It's still bat to eighty so I don't think Scott about twenty the rest of the Hernandez never hits the ball hard. That's why like to last forty got hit it hard. I bet you were told though as a kid trying to play this game yourself though. I know I was not to swing from your heels. It feels like now. Yeah, you should be doing that China hit as hard as you can. If you miss well, no big deal. I have no power my softball leagues. So I hit the ball like the other way I hit like little line drives over the infielders. I you know, I'm that guy. I'm not trying to lefty hitter. So you have everybody doing the shift on, you bet. And you can just dunk it down the left. They know I'm going to hit ups of feel now, so now they're playing. Metrics. They've got yet they figured to me out the analytics, live read. This is a friends that seek do you ever feel like ticketing websites make getting to the event difficult on purpose? "So many communists amazing glass show there were none. Now we've got havi by Scott Kingery love Willie domicile Andrew mccutchen Adam, Eaton Manny PINA and chasing kipness. That's at seven. Scott King here while alum this year. I still think futures bri- my mother keeps arguing with me why they give so much money. He's going to be good much money really isn't. That's what I've been trying to explain to her that like four million dollars for a major league baseball player over six years, kinda park if you think he's going to be good, do you think he's going to be good, right? Even right now he's gonna end up with double digits and homers and steals now is played disciplines, awful. We can't recognize off speed stuff, but you know, he's still young. What do you think Kingery next season take a step up, say, say, I told you he's the starting shortstop. Okay. I think that's going to happen. Wow, you don't think Manny Machado was the starting shortstop? No, no. I think they can Harper and they often equips. But what you think Kingery is like a later around sleeper who ends up with fifteen and fifteen abounding to sixty or is he stands Swanson? I mean, what do you think he is? Dad's Swanson comic came into my mind. It looks like is not going to be a great fantasy option. So king looks like Swanson with me. I think it'd be better than that. You'll be drove. He just learned how to, you know, lay off the bad bitches. Yeah, and I don't know that there's I don't know that it's fair to make a specific player conference. Got Kingery. I don't think he's quite like any of those names that we mentioned. I think he's better in terms of making contact that he's shown so far. I think he's got it in him to have better strikes judgment. And I don't think he's going to be an elite Walker, but this is the type of player I see sneaking his way to twenty and twenty, and I could see it next year. I'm gonna have to dive deep on the numbers on him and see what's up. All I see is, as you mentioned, Eric, he's not doing well against any picks curveballs that's the only is a positive run value again. No, he looks over on the fastballs while see pitches off side of the plate. I mean, he looks overwhelms chasing everything chase rate every forty percent that's not him. No, it's not. I think he'll be better next year. But like you said, there's twenty. Upside really Adamas could be twenty twenty two. By the way the the other that strikes Kangari and I forget who it is, who I made this case for when a player is moved off, what they consider the natural position, the one they played for a while. I don't like what it does to distract them just into the majors, and I wonder whether that came up with Kyrie. Okay, right. Any thoughts? Anyone else here? Mccutchen you still giant kipness who maybe a little resurgent here at a meeting. You would think some point. You know, he's never going to be hundreds and healthy Atta meeting, I think killing rice shame. I know good player. He was right. He was very underrated too, and I hope. That meeting can hit righties platoon outfielder can't play center field. There's nothing that really just jumps off the page. Right. I mean, dominate we mentioned him the other day and I'm intrigued by what I've seen from him lately, kipness maddening. I mean, I've had him in a couple of weeks and he's maddening to have active. I finally got rid of them in one in the office league actually because I was just fed up with it. All right, that's enough of the comma meals. Now, the relief pitchers the clothes, a car sale..

Pros that have played in the Little League World Series

"This week, Sunday baseball's actually going to be the little league classic in williamsport, Pennsylvania. We've got the Phillies the Manson, Jess you already there. What are you doing there? So early that you when I talk, I I literally games. I mean, this is this is where at that, but there I'll tell you and I got two boys. I'm a little league coach. I don't know if I should admit that because sometimes if good and bad, but being here we the first opening day, lily World Series got four games, four more tomorrow you on Saturday. And then I'll have a game Sunday prior to our Sunday night game with the Phillies vets. But it's it's cool in the scene here. You'll be here soon BUSTER, but it's it's, it's pretty special. Yeah, you did this game last year? I did not do it. I was on vacation. What's it? Like when you get the big leaguers mixing with a little leaguers. The coolest thing BUSTER in, you know, we, we've seen it only once. You know the cardinals and the pirates here last year and what was really took me aback as expect. Obviously, when the big leaguers get here, the literally will be running up and getting autographs and photos and southeast and Instagram stories and all that. As soon as I remember the cardinals got here first before the pirates and they got off the bus and they were going after because they'd already watched a few of the games. They literally new kids names. You know, Carlos Martinez had some kids internationally that he like. I think it was a catcher Venezuela that he was like, totally adamant. I need to find this kid. I want my photo. Can I get your picture? Got his autograph, and it was so genuine. And this is before the cameras were even on them, or I mean, these big leaguers were fans of these kids. And to me, that's what makes us special is I think we only a bit of a reminder of like why the game of baseball is really played, but especially those guys not to like knock any player by any means, but. I think one hundred sixty two games. You would get it at the grind, but you get here and oh my gosh. Is it exuding up every just pure love for the game? You know, are they that towns and most of them aren't, but oh, they love it and it rubs off and you can tell when the big leaguers get here that there's a little bit of that. Just I remember when I was eleven years old. I remember when I was twelve and you know the stories just come out and it's it's cool and it's important. Along those lines about the players who play in the Little League World series. This week's poll question is who among the alum of the Little League World series, my goodness. There's so many from Chris story. The, you know, the the NHL player who so many current major leaguers Scott Kingery, Michael Conforto in our game or guys who played Little League World series, but who is the best alum of the Little League World series was played in the big leagues in the four choices and believe me. We could have had so many more Todd Frazier, Jason Varitek, Gary Sheffield or Dwight Gooden who would be the best alum of those four. You know, I put Todd Frazier, I voted this week because there's something about him that still just screams little league. I mean, anyone who's ever been around Todd Frazier and BUSTER. I know you know this, you've been around him. I mean, and part of its maybe his size and just as demeanor and the way he acts. I mean, he, he, he's still just has kid and love for the game the way he plays the game. And this is twenty year anniversary of the team that he one Little League World series with with Tom's river New Jersey, and they're all coming back. He's throwing out the first pitch, and I feel like in covering now the Little League World series. My fourth year, those images are the ones that are still

"Dot com slash the a four for Philadelphia that when Mark lighter was ineffective and Hector narrows can only give them one inning it was. Position players, after that Roman Quinn And Scott Kingery combined, to, give, up, the, last nine runs in. That record setting opener well hope you enjoyed this one tonight at least, the opener went to quite the Mets. Way at twenty four two four nine six Philadelphia in that nightcap and, before we get outta here. That you hear from Mickey Callaway Stephen Matt's. A little bit of a concern obviously in game two and he was asked was. Mickey Callaway about Stephen Matt's he looked really rusty he just had trouble getting his fastball going kind of it was leaking back out over and just the command wasn't there tonight. So here's battle himself all night and pitch count got? Up and we. Didn't feel like what he came off of it was very smart to send them back out for inning what would. You like to address with him moving forward Well I think he just needs to get regular, work you know he hit. Hit a little bit of a weird schedule. He got to throw the same game but Gallic Mattie needs to throw off the. Mound as much as possible getting that good routine and I think he'll be fine you I'm sure David hone in on finishing his pitches again like David dressed in the past. And that usually gets him where he needs to be This one tonight some, offense earlier but then they came, at a chin couldn't quite get back until very interesting Liberal I. Think the approach was to set game too yeah I know I thought. Our our hitters do a great job I thought, effluence settled in there and started throwing the ball pretty well he's got really good stuff in pitcher willow year but we battled got the time right at the plate. In the ninth and got their closure in, a game and, and you to, give it to our guys day they, continue to battle after a long day Easy. To have a double header obviously but daddy Thank you Kind of got this one pretty much of mentally and physically. I do I think the guy's got. Through. It, good obviously nemo got hit in. The hand war has a little bit of a hamstring thing, going on but other, than that I think we're at a good place going into. More tomorrow Any thought that maybe it's more than rust back Back No. No you mean physically he's not? Healthy, no, no he feels he feels totally. Fine he wanted to go back out for, third but you, know I told him I had to take care of at this, point it had to do the right thing Yeah he went to go get. The bullet and, just felt something grab a little bit so we're going to have, them checked out and go from there Think it was right one push off Thank you what, do you make of the day overall especially as you look at. The, day that reside and Conforto had yeah I think those are the things that we always value is. Watching these guys get better and better and I think our. Team as, a whole has gotten better I mean it's evidently score more. Runs were putting together. Better at bats we're playing better defense, we're taking care of the ball better so I'm. Really proud of the guys for that so Rosario continue to blossom is really fun and. All the energy, that he's bringing. It it's just a it's it's good when you see those guys improving That's Mickey Callaway and yeah hopefully the news. Is, good about Brandon Nimmo and hopefully the Mets, can move forward positively from here in a doubleheader where forty three runs were scored. Thirty. Of them. By the. Mets they settle for the doubleheader sweep Noah, Syndergaard by the way on the mound tomorrow number it's an hour. Earlier, than we're used to a six zero five first pitch thanks so.

"Few games a year a couple of games of the year it's it's worth the price of hiring a guy like that and as trevor bauer said to me i think this is a trend that's not going away so i think it's fascinating how teams are sorta trying to find that guy who can blend the two schools of thought into one and really reach out to the modern day player yeah and i think you would agree with me that overtime players are becoming more open minded about analytics in about information yeah you know our said this but you know i have sam i said who were the guys on the phillies that are into this and he mentioned response skains and scott kingery you know i don't know if a guy who's thirty six is going to be interested in it but reese hoskins lives you know and he said to me look i don't go on fan drafts every day or i don't look at stat cast to see my launch angle but you know santa telling me hey my exit veal it's going up or this pitch is you know there's a million different things they can find he listens to it he's receptive to it so and i think the one good thing about sam fold is he doesn't cream it that play people's throats you know he's there he's got a great personality very approachable and i think he's there in case players want it and as you hill buster a lot of times players might come to him when they're struggling you know that's when they come to them and say hey what can i do what can i do and if he helps them they're gonna come back a second time so phillies are playing well and i think it's a it's sort of an innovative direction they're headed in and i'm sure other teams will will follow suit jerry thanks for doing this it's great to talk with you thanks buster we'll be back in a moment with sarah legs but i work cited to nats that we're having our first.

"You know some of their offensive players haven't had great streak so do has had a great streak reese hoskins has carlos santanas looking more like the carlos santana that we've known from cleveland indians days those guys you know they you figure they're going to be there the question is whether didn't get mar improvements from players like nick williams and scott kingery and michael franco you know if those complementary players know take a little bit of a step forward in the next few months and yeah it is definitely sustainable you know you know keeping healthy with the pitching that will be that will be a key i mean if it didn't eat the current rotation healthy i think they can stay in it matt gilt the philadelphia phillies beat writer for the athlete joining us here on baseball tonight presented by navy federal credit union sunday night baseball rapidly approaching about twenty five minutes from now the nationals in the phillies matt is philadelphia goes for the sweep tonight i know you listening to retire skains interview from game day yesterday he kind of touched on what a what the veterans like jake arrieta have meant to them from the outside as as journalists in reporter in the clubhouse what do you see the veterans providing to the young kids just some guidance i mean i think it is the youngest roster in baseball and some of these guys have not experienced the sort of ups and downs that come with one hundred and sixty two game season and and you really don't know what to do until you experience those there's down periods and those periods so you know i think jerk area and carlos santana just set an example really area it is a little more vocal than santana but he's a pitcher so it's hard for pitchers to be a real leader but you know ariana has set examples and he's called some guys albany's need to call them out publicly and a little tough love isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world and i think ariana is has shown how to do that the right way and i think really just providing example it's such a young team some of these guys have really going through this for the first time and then that guidances important i was chuckling when you mentioned about jake arrieta calling people out because let's remember he called his manager out this is worked all of this has worked together so how does all of this success that this phillies organization has had matt how does it affect their their approach at the trade deadline well i think they're going to have to be very active buyers i mean if you if you look up and they're going to wait to make these decisions because you know their next eight games they have five against the nationals and three against the yankees at store pretty difficult stretch but then after that you look at their july schedule on it's a lot of games against the mets the marlins the orioles the pirates they could make some hanes july and they could be looking up around july.

"Plus home runs so long as the oblique doesn't affect them but there's just nothing you know in his profile that makes me think that he's really you know was anywhere deserving of of where he got drafted and you know unfortunately there's there's not much you can do you can't really you could try to train them off and see what you can get from him but it's probably worth it just to hold and and see what happens there hopefully he's more more a teams middle infielder as opposed to their starting second baseman hopefully if you got a second baseman as you middle infielder later who emerged among that group that that had me passing on scope in the first place maybe you can kind of flip flip visions there which makes an easier because then you can take shortstop or second baseman and getting replaced this guy's an interesting one because there was a lot of hype here with scott kingery of okay when's it going to come up when they're going gonna be on the team boom than they signed him to a big deal before he ever takes a major league at bat six year deal okay now it's time to play and he's been in nightmare two homers four stolen bases to twelve average five seventy eight opie for scott kingery now he's a little bit of an older rookie twos twenty four years old not ancient but definitely older rookie vlad scott kingery is is a mess right now does he need to go back down and gets more seasoning or or does he just need to kind of fight through it on the job and if that's the case if they just say hey let you work it out here do you have to cut him in fantasy.

"Phil that's that's a hundred percent the defense okay what about lewis brinson he's been brutal down i don't think i don't think i've let's let's escalate a little bit here let's get some guys that have more of a pulse but still struggling what about scott kingery you buy low and scott kingery julio tehran that's an interesting one because i love kingery but he's been brutal the question is has gotten any better since i was on vacation in if that's questions are they going to send him down or since you have to contract they're going to say what let's let you grind this out but they're pretty decent they can't you know they're not in this away at bats but they can keep them on the bench is like a super util guy on trying to turn thing around because the beauty of scott kingery is what they've shown is like he can play anywhere like he's what played five different positions already this year speaking of what about marlin kingery or marlin and then would you train either your train either yes i would totally take marlin for julio theron okay okay one more here we get guides playing better but wasn't high pick me find somebody here do okay how about you definitely say yes to that so i don't wanna do that when i was gonna say mike no franko but everyone would do that okay what about brian anderson out he's been he's been doing some some decent stuff actually i would take anderson.

"Okay that's just offensive to those of us that that are raw string some some legitimate slugs on our team okay for for those that like bought in on jason kipness is spring training or whatever not me doubt that one was not me i've terrible players on my teams but not jason kipness so yeah there's nothing wrong without to do not worry and again you can't really go buy low because there is no there is no low with him this one was just like a special special inclusion to calm down a few of you who maybe maybe i shouldn't have catered to but i just wanted to bring them up and be like come on we cannot be worried about a situation like this right now he might not run as much that's okay i think people knew that coming in without too that the stolen bases you know weren't necessarily guaranteed a hold in the thirties you know he's twenty eight now he's become a middle of the lineup threat if he kinda dips down to twenty three this year something still you're still fine you're still absolutely fine let's move on let's go over to third base and let's see who's the third baseman oh you know what hang on i want to look at something here because when i was making this list i actually went the shortstop next but is this shortstop okay then he ends up being this is one where i said not not all these guys are like upper round guys the shortstop entrant is actually scott kingery and brought him up more because i really wanna talk about him you know he had a lot of hype coming in he signed that deal before he ever debuted to kind of get him into the majors without any sort of service time tinkering i think he got off to a decent start initially and then he's hit a cold spell sense so right now it's got kingery is getting dropped in similar leagues there's a lot of panic and we talk about this a lot on the show this is what happens when the flashy prospect comes up and he's not a beast immediately the fantasy baseball community hearns on these guys oh my gosh they get forget forgotten quickly so through his first thirteen games kingery had a two eighty three fifteen.

"Those types of players who are first and foremost very talented but secondly are have a team i approach and a willingness to play different positions those types of guys make teams better because they fill in the gaps and it allows an the lineup on an on an everyday basis to be as good as it can be and if you think about lineup construction as putting together the pieces of puzzle and you think about playing one hundred sixty two games as a puzzle you know players like scott kingery you know are are a great luxury and they can really help us win ballgames and while i know we're talking about kingery you know i also have to mention we have other he's not alone on this roster in that regard we've reached hoskins very selflessly volunteered to move from first base to left field this year to accommodate are signing of carlos santana and j p crawford came up to the big leagues last year and rather than playing shortstop which was his customary position he broke in to the big leagues as third baseman we've got all of our outfielders playing different spots and at times foot flopping from left to right you know it's not just about one player it's really about the mentality of a whole team but i certainly think that scott king you know is a is it going to be a big part of that now as you know part of the reason why everyone is talking about this contract is because he hasn't played a day in the big leagues and he gets a six year deal worth a reported twenty four million dollars plus the team options the back end thirteen fourteen and fifteen million dollars when did this concept come up and how does that come up where you guys are having a conversation all of a sudden goes into hey coming up with a structure that might wind up taking up nine years of his career.

"Nineteen picks to to seventy three a scott kingery out in philly buzzy name this this off season here they're working out a lot of different spots trying to find a spot for him because he's a little bit blocked off right now and so he's going to go down to start is the second basement by trade i believe states hernandez has been excellent the last two years you can't really just bump him off and say nah we got this we got this prospect we want to try out from from scratch here no way like cesar hernandez is really steady player so they've been like i said moving him around around the infield and i think even some outfield but i would say this puts a j p crawford you know gotta get that back going the defense should be there for crawford off the top but you gotta get that back going or mike how franko who certainly had a long leash is h twenty five this year but you know it has regressed and really hasn't pushed forward and so they're going to look to get kingery in this lineup sooner than later yet an amazing amaz as ing spring training forty three plate appearances four homers four stolen bases three ninety four nineteen seven thirty two triple slash seven point zero opponent quality according to baseball reference that's aa okay so keep that in mind they have they have something formula where they take who you're hitting against in spring training and come up with a number and that number translates to a certain level ten point i was majors nobody ever gets that you're you're always facing some sort of minor league quality something in the high eight is usually the highest that i've seen that i've seen and is at seven point oh scott kingery so he's beaten up aa pitching and he was a aaa player last year so keep those spring training numbers in mind but it did it did stand out and it's gotten him attention and they're looking for a spot for congree what do you think about about this top prospect i love scott kingery i just think that he is a five category contributor.
