It's it's absolutely the problem. I mean that is the the true y in weld county wyoming. Let's be honest. Do i support their efforts. I support their right to do so. I i mean. I preach about this all the time about regular citizens becoming active in the in the important role of self governance. And that's exactly what this folks have have done. Do i support what they want to do. I'm colorado gale. And i still believe that colorado is worth fighting for and so therefore they want to move to wyoming. I don't but boy. Do i support what they do. And i understand the sediment why they're doing it because never has there been such a metaphorical and almost physical padding the padding on the head of okay k. "So what they're doing now seems to be working really well for the people that need it. The most. And that's sarcasm. Ladies and gents. But never let it be said that any teachers union anywhere gives a crap about students. They demonstrated over and over and over and over again. And I don't have any issue with teachers. I have a huge issue a teacher's unions, the only teachers I've ever had an issue. What with generally end up turning out to be the union rep for their school, It's you know, it's like, Oh, that's not surprising. Not surprising. So again, I'm gonna keep bringing these stories about school choice, because if you are a parent who supports school choice or takes advantage of it You've got to pay attention. They can make these schools go away. They have the power to do that, especially with some of the things that are coming down the pike from the Biden Biden administration. So pay attention. That's all I'm saying. Yes, Dave. Yeah, you know, you know, rare moment of candor. One of the leaders of one of the teachers unions years ago, Uh, said what? When, uh, When students and Children pay union dues, then they'll be the top priority. Until then. It's the union members, David much as I want to believe that that has been unable to be sourced. I've looked it up many, many times. I've not been able to find the original source on that. It may be true, but I can't. I can't find it for sure. I just want to be clear about that. I believe it. But I can't find the actual source. Every time we talk about it, somebody e mails that can We'll take that. But to your point. It's an accurate statement. Even if it wasn't exactly said that way, and it's not only union members. It's the least competent of union members that is protected by teacher unions. Yeah, And that's why you know what? When, When we want to reward the good teachers and not reward the not so good teachers. The unions will go crazy because they protect the least competent of their members. And how is that in in any way, shape or form going to benefit students? I like that. 100% I'd love it if unions took it upon themselves when they have a poorly rated teacher to create programs to make those teachers better to give them the support and training that they need to better manage a classroom. Better master a subject become better teachers. Wouldn't that be refreshing? But the union actively engaged in making teachers that are struggling better to my knowledge that does not occur. If it does here, that would be miraculous. It's never occurred in kind of like the auto workers union, saying, Yeah, we care about the cars. We really want the best automobiles made possible. Uh, yeah, right. It's the same thing. Same principle. Unions are designed To protect their members. And that said, the other point that that's interesting is these I just Went through my head and out the other side fragment. That's okay. Let me continue with what's on the blogged. Denver's giving out a bunch of tickets for expired plates. Did you see this? So the D M V has been throughout the last year and a half here has been either completely log jammed and people can't get any service. They finally get caught up. Then they get logjam begin well in the beginning or end of January. The D. M V sent a note to all these counties the city's saying, Hey, look, we're way behind getting license plates taken care of. So give out tickets at your discretion, meaning cut of people a break right. So three days after that the city of Denver is written 3000 tickets for expired plates. In three days. So obviously they decided to, you know, hone in on this potential revenue source of about $650,000. Well, after they got called on it. They're going to nullify those tickets. But if you get a ticket for an expired plate because the D m V is so backlogged that you can't get an appointment, Please fight it. Because I don't think governmental incompetence and backlogs and logjams should be your responsibility. And it's lousy. That government is using governments logjams in confidence to give out tickets to people. That's crap that made me mad. So the North Carolina lieutenant governor, his name is Mark Robinson, Dave. Mark Robinson. Is black. And he took issue. With an editorial cartoon. That was written by an eighth grade social studies teacher. And in it, he called the GOP the clan. Let's just say Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson took offense at this any absolutely ripped it and everything behind it to shreds. It is interesting when Democrats hurl the KKK analogy, and I'm thinking to myself. You do know who started it, right? I mean, you do know who kept it going. Was not Republicans Spoiler alert. A new suitor shows up and he's absolutely right. I mean, do you think this Weld County Wyoming thing might have legs, Dave? I don't know how long the legs are. I don't know how strong the legs are, but it might have some legs. It's gonna be very interesting to see how this sort of unfolds not just for Colorado. But there are other counties and other states. That are very unhappy like there's a bunch of states in eastern Oregon that want to join Idaho. So we start realigning counties that are on border areas. That could be a very interesting situation. Tow watch. Governor, Pulis decided Tonto erase a gay person's identity, which I find super cool. Richard Grenell was the first Cabinet official who is also openly gay. He served under President Trump in the director of national intelligence role. Now Pete Buddha judge has been confirmed as a Cabinet member, and everyone, including the governor, are congratulating him on being the first openly gay Cabinet member, and he's not He's just not now they're contorting themselves. Now David's the first openly gay Cabinet member to ever be confirmed by the Senate. They're adding that cause rich was, you know, he didn't have to go through the confirmation process because he only served in an interim capacity, but he served But don't worry about that. Governor Pulis next time someone says you're the first openly gay governor also not know he's not. I disagree with him politically, so he's not right. Just run them. And when they say openly gay does that mean if you were a closet gay, you don't count. Correct. Yeah. Yeah. So you're eliminated. What do you think about his unity speech because it seems to me that well there there was room for a little bit of concern particularly if you come from the conservative part of the political equation as we seen the rug pulled out from under parlor. We've seen President trump blocked from twitter Indefinitely facebook as well other social media platforms as the cancel. Culture reigns supreme. And you have to wonder if The democrat definition of unity matches the republican definition of unity in terms of freedom of expression and free speech. Well and i think the term unity needs to be understood that in order for there to be unity there needs to be compromised and so far. I've seen no compromise. I've seen the very first day of office. Sit down and you know. Hyundai hundred mask mandate and cancel the pipeline and handful. You know get back into the paris. Climate accord there has to be compromised. I don't wanna president on his very first starts right now. Executive orders that cancel the previous presidents executive orders. It has an obviously nothing to do with policy and everything to do with so i while his unity speech was great and his speech. Was you know everybody's like all excited. i'm going to reserve my excitement until i see just exactly how much unity there is. i just. Unity requires compromise. And from everything that i have seen from the from the democrats and controlling colorado the democrats in control across the country and now the democrats in control in the united states. I mean and and so we wanted to try to pump the brakes on those trying to use their code with that being said we did a appropriately from pumping blake brakes on the on the code. We will Have the second reading on that. Code on february twenty-second today. As a matter of fact we had a larger working group. Today we begin with a smaller working group. And we're gonna get down into the nuts and bolts of of solar code with soda developers with utility scale providers and with landowners as well and and. Joe biden made it very clear that he supports banning new permits on federally managed land and waters for oil gas and coal concerns about climate change and threats to air and water quality now. Needless to say it's a pretty dramatic change from the at trump administration which prioritized. Us energy dominance rolled back or stream lined rules and policies as a burden on energy development. And you have to remember. The bureau of land management which is part of the interior department manages drilling and mining on public lands. Roughly thirty six percent of colorado is federally. Managed lands and energy development occurs on both private and public lands in colorado colorado. By the way The seventh. i've seen the six but we'll go with this piece out of the denver post. The seventh biggest energy producer in the entire nation. Western leaders network made up of more than four hundred and fifty local and tribal elected. Officials asked the administration in a letter tuesday to freeze new fossil-fuel leasing on public lands but kathleen gama president of the western energy alliance.
