"This is become before the Senate soon and the failures of the former chair for well documented now why any Senator would want to thumb his nose at parkland families is beyond me. But I judge not lest I be judged. Well, that was something and a lot to unravel their Jen for governor Rogers Santa's first state of the state address yesterday afternoon in Tallahassee. Well, were we knew he would cover a lot of topics. I didn't think directly he would speak about, you know, the suspended sheriff Scott Israel from Broward County, but he certainly did. But there was also a shot directly at or at least kind of like a mandate directly to the senators, but being that, I'm pretty sure he's an attorney, and maybe Stewart can help us there because they think he's part of the Jag court brunt dissing, the judge not lest I be judged comment. I think was his way of getting out of it. Stuart Kaplan who is Scott. Israel's attorney was that like his life saving line, or do you think what he said definitely tainted the Senate? Good morning. You know, I I say if there's any doubt that the removal of Scott Israel was not politically motivated. I think everybody has their answer. I quite this. As you guys have been talking about the Corey Jones trial. That's now soon to be in the jury's hand. The defense attorneys were to walk into the jury room when they're taking a breaking saying if you convict this guy, you'd be snubbing your nose at, you know, work, if you quit this guy, you know, you you you taking the capture you captured your audience who's going to render a decision, and basically, you know, tainted them, and I think he's a Horford educated lawyer who knows better, and I think his conduct yesterday was reprehensible we have brainstormed since the statements were made yesterday to figure out what if any options we have to go before the special magistrate figure out what we can do at this point. Okay. Stuart let's take a couple of steps backwards because there are a lot of people who are just waking up this morning going. Wait. What's this thing in April? I know the deal, you know, they know not all the particulars of what's happening here. So let's break down the nuts and bolts. Of it here. So coming up in April. What's the date when apparently the Senate, and you know, the legislature is going to take up the case of the former sheriff, Scott, Israel, what taken a couple of steps backwards here. Sure. First of all there is a special. Magistrate was appointed pursuant through the Senate, mainly j Dudley. Good dach-. He's going to act as a quasi-judicial officer or referee. We're both sides are going to have an opportunity to present their evidence as to whether or not on behalf of the governor the suspension should be sustained or from my perspective as to whether or not the removal was improper and knock found based upon neglect or malfeasance or the neglected duty. And that he should be reinstated that special magistrate will hear all that evidence. And then render in a pinion a recommendation, which will then go..

"Morning is flying by more news from Karen coming up in a couple of minutes, which you agus. So when now Senator Rick Scott was governor of Florida when he first started he said, we don't need this gubernatorial airplane, I have enough money to fly my own private jet around state, right? What was him that was him? So now that governor onto Santa's is flying all around the state is very very very busy. Ron do. Santa's get things done baby. He's been flying any small prop plane seized by drug smugglers. It's the one that crept out when he was trying to come and fire suspend Broward sheriff, Scott Israel. Oh, no. Great that thing now. Well, that's what state lawmakers you're talking about. Oh, no. Yeah. That's not good to make an emergency landing because of mechanical problems on the third day was an office when he was headed to Broward County to Scott Israel. It was the first time he's ever had to use the oxygen mask that drops from the ceiling. Can you imagine? I would never get back on the plate Naples two days ago. He flew in that thing, I wouldn't get back. No, he's he needs a plane. I'd be more than happy to support that as a tax payer. So these up. It was there before President Trump has given a hundred thousand dollars of his salary to fight alcohol. And he would he said, I don't need Air Force One. But you know, these rich guys get into office and to get rid of all the expensive bells and whistles this is like, thanks. Rick. Really? Crappy plane he has like he's a drug seized drug playing. Wow. Prop plane. He's not even in like a Lear. Wow. For gulfstream. And especially of all governors. Emmy, we all you know, he's the do Ron here. He gets a lot. He's traveled more throughout the state than any governor. I ever remember buying a used Gulfstream five what happened to the one? The Rick got rid of anyway that we're coming up. All right..

Let's just fly over on our private jets and go watch Hamilton and say that it's for oh, we're here for this pack 'cause they're so fundraiser there you can just went over to watch the play. Let's be honest closer to home new governor. Rhonda Santa's who is probably the busiest governor in US history. Speaking of history. Boy, he's gotten a lot done. We know that the news conference happened on Friday suspended, Scott Israel. Well, now, he's got another announce becoming a Miami today. They don't say exactly what it is. It's going to be in south Florida announcing something. Yeah. Ten o'clock. This morning has got a big press conference. So maybe he's going to announce another member of the Florida Supreme Court could be like he did. I think he has done more in the first week that he's been in office than all the other governors combined in their whole in their whole realm. I'm like, okay. This is like I mean, he really when he said he's gonna do something. He did it or you're not kidding. And all the stuff we don't know about I found out from a friend of mine who works in the in the prison system. Apparently, he fired the head of the prison system. Good replaced him. I don't know if it was just a one at one prison or the whole prison system, but he's like firing people left, and right and replacing them like people, you wouldn't have, you know, everyday contact with the Queen. Swamp. You like that so many, of course, can I I kind of felt bad for Broward sheriff or former sheriff Scott Israel because y'all knew at three o'clock that the scientists was showing up in Broward to relieve him of his duties, and then it's plain breaks down. So the scheduled the press conference so six o'clock, and if they can your Scott Israel now, you're gonna wait another three hours before you get can't ex- socks make him sweat in the sun. I'm thinking, you know, what that was a fake mechanic was gonna ask you. What are the odds that they actually may have made him sweat it out a little why not? I probably would be just as evil to be honest with you. But that's that's the Italian coming out. And then just that press conference though, he just dropped a hammer chase. It was dishonest is on a roll and not only that. But this too on the social Justice angle of things. So there was a big case. Apparently, it goes way back here and the governor is issuing posthumous pardons for four black men accused of raping a white woman back in forty nine. They called the grove land for this is what the governor had to say about that. Can I right? The wrongs done to them many years ago. I hope that it will bring peace to their families and their communities. I am confident that the people of Florida would not want this injustice to happen. Again. There's another one for four black men falsely accused of raping someone seventy years ago. Wow. Imagine being members of that family, and then waiting all these years for that to finally come through guess, what do you say better late than ever though, right yet? So so true. He's also announcing executive order securing billions for the restoration of the Everglades along with the blue green algae task force which he created in my part of the world in Morton county. He also got rid of the Okaloosa county school superintendent accused of abusing special needs students. Oh, I remember that case later, she's gone. Wow. And then, of course, Scott Israel, and I mean, he's really he's done so much in the first week. It's like, wow, I wouldn't want to be around him. If he didn't like you do. Do Ron Ron and he just after every press conference. It takes out a pen. Next on the list. What else do we have to clean up around here? New sheriff in town. Wow. Wow. Holy cow. All right. Well, this is proven every single day and some kind of a challenge, but but really now this bird box challenges. It's weeding them out you can't fix stupid. So they have all these challenges going on. Now, the whole bird box thing where you make yourself blinded with a blindfold we've seen people crashing around in schools and escalators now they're doing it on the road. Come on. How stupid you have to be a teen in Utah did this Jenny proceeded to pull beanie.

"Explains a lot. Yeah. While you're alone. Right. Exactly. A thin Lizzy chicken asleep. All right. So here's what's going on as far as the big stories. Obviously the speech from last night. The Trump wall speech there's a lot to talk about with that before I get to that. Because there's a lot of stuff to get into. I see that governor Ron the Santa's. Our new governor is probably I'm gonna guess what would you say in terms of betting person? Do you think sheriff Scott Israel is still in the job winning the week or within days? He's gonna get canned one way or the other. The census was I guess he was at a press conference a news conference in Miami today. And this was regarding Scott, Israel is is future. And the census was we'll do do it almost like a Trump thing. Like, we'll see kind of a thing. He said all I can say the people south Florida is I shall return very soon. And he left so I guess he went to another meeting and probably sat down with someone and was talking about the fate of sheriff, Scott Israel. Now a lot of people in this area. I've been calling for his dismissal since they parkland massacre, which was almost a year ago if you can believe that. Yeah. Wow. We're about a month or about a month away from when it happened. And the fact that the ball was dropped a number of occasions natural in terms of that particular situation, but also leading up to it leading up to Nick crews, and and the cops being called on him a lot that was not done correctly or properly in terms of the Broward sheriff's office. Anyway. So the question is is he going to be suspending him or is he firing him. And he's not giving any information. But he, you know, it's one of those we'll say, well, apparently, Scott Israel has informed the people he works with that. He expects to be suspended. I think he said he hopes. He hopes to be suspended is that we've you either suspended where you're not gonna suspend the what? I mean, if he does suspend him that he's gonna fire him. I'm sure. Yeah. Rather be suspended. Well, also, he would say Scott Israel is hoping that he suspensive? That's what I'm saying Ralph and fires. Well, okay. Because it sounds like, you know. Like, hey, I hope will suspend him. He'll do whatever he wants to do with them. I have to think that this suspension will probably happen for a week. And then they'll have another discussion. And then Scott Israel will be out by the end of the week. Apparently, Israel will fight it as best he can with his lawyer and all that stuff. So what are you gonna fight the bottom line is you didn't do your job correctly? And you know, you're incompetent in this people underneath you. I mean, obviously you were at the school. But the people that you had working for you drop the ball. I mean, there's no way how else can you describe it? They they pretty much failed at their job. The job was to go into that school and save those kids as many as they could. And they did it and you got a guy who's to collecting a hundred thousand dollar pension. Scott Peterson who really dropped the ball. So there are a lot of questions that need to be answered before this guy makes that decision and I'm sure he'd since he's doing the job. He's got to follow the proper protocol. You could just walk in and go all right? Do you swear swear about? All right. Congratulations. Governor scott. Fired. You gotta you know, he's gotta make sure that he goes through the the proper protocol before he does, but Scottish you will be gone. He is not going to be the the sheriff for the Broward County sheriff's office. I would say. At the latest this month the end of the month, but probably within the next week or two. All right. So I believe will time to get into this. Why don't we do this? Why don't we take a break? And then we'll get into the Trump speech from last night coming up barsky radio.

So that's this federal suit is going to dictate what happens to sheriff Israel as well. But if they you know elected or not if they find wrongdoing, they were replaced officials, all the tablet all the special. Elections. We've had across just depends of the federal judge decides it's unconstitutional for the governor to do. So they're elected, you know, we'll see it's kind of an interesting situation that's going on there. But yeah, the governor not wasting any time that amazing. I two orders of business. I two things he mentioned in his speech. Good on his promise. The FOX headline. It was interesting because they broke it, and they were confident with it backed off that a little now, it's like Israel suspended, Mark. Santa's office actually contacted Fox News. No, we have not suspended him Iran yet. Yeah. Big the sheriff, are you suspending goes. Nope. Oh, how horrible is that though is Scott is writing for the drop? Right. Because you know, it's coming. Yeah. Yeah. Well that more coming up..

"Proud county sheriff Scott Israel, telling members of his command staff that he expects Florida's new governor to suspend him over his bungled handling of the parkland massacre last year governor to Santa's hinted at the likelihood of a suspension Monday saying he was weighing possible replacements. But because they love the people on the inside the president said it's immoral for politicians to do nothing and not protect the American people. "Weekdays noon to three AM seven ninety KABC. Welcome back to the Ben Shapiro show. So there's a piece of breaking news that really is fascinating. And telling about how the media cover the issues, and I focus a lot on the media on this show because that is how people get their information. And it really does impact. How people think about the issues case in point do you? Remember all the way back to the park shooting that happened last year when CNN did a town hall events that was basically the hour of hate from nineteen Eighty-four George Orwell where we just got a bunch of pro gun people up on the stage Marco Rubio data. And then people booed them and yelled at them and screamed at them and talked about how they didn't care about dead kids. And meanwhile, Broward County sheriff Scott Israel who presided over a garbage force that allowed people to be shot. Well, his officers stood outside and did nothing. Scott Israel stood there in grid. Right. You remember this? And if you said, it's got his role did a terrible job as the Broward County sheriff Scott Israel, did not prepare his own people. That's got Israel had helped put into place a. Policy that allowed the shooter parkland to walk free, despite the police haven't been called dozens of times Scott Israel, sat there and he was treated as an icon, including by some of the parkland kids, eventually became national heroes people like David Hogg, David Hogg. He's now going to Harvard on twelve thirty SAT David Hogg who is being given all sorts of extra credit for his activism. Good for him with the activism at twelve. Thirty SAT does not get you into Harvard. David Hogg said at the time it to question. Scott Israel was a serious problem that the Broward County sheriff was not responsible gun ownership writ large that was responsible. It was the hundreds of millions of Americans who own guns. Those were the people who are responsible for the parkland shooting in some way, it's got Israel's had the same. If you attack me it's just because you don't want to look at your own complicity in a school shooting. Even though you personally, we're not complicit in a school shooting. Well, according to the Miami Herald, it appears that the Broward County sheriff, Scott Israel is now preparing to pack up his office. Oh surprise surprise. The two-term share the object of fierce criticism criticism over BSO's handling of the parkland massacre tilt his top commanders he will be removed from office by governor round. Santa's sources have told Miami Herald the census was sworn in Tuesday morning had not made a formal announcement of a possible suspension. Israel's discussion with staff about his ouster was first reported by Miami New times apparently Israel was in his office at the public safety building in Fort Lauderdale working on Tuesday, but not for long. His lawyer says the governor has not said anything to us indirectly or directly as to whether or not the sheriff is going to be suspended. But Jeff bell the union chief said Israel told his staff on Monday, his ouster was inevitable. We know he's telling everyone at the public safety building his going to be gone said bell who's at the swearing in ceremony in Tallahassee on Tuesday. They're bunch of possible replacements. Israel is vowing to fight any effort to strip him of his office. But he's going to lose his office as well. He should he says that mistake for made in the response to the shooting, but they weren't serious enough to warrant a suspension or move. From office. Like, you know ignoring all the school warnings not putting enough officers. They're not training his officers to actually go in apparently telling some of the officers to stand down allegedly not responding strongly enough with police to the dozens of phone calls put in about the shooter. A state panel investigating the massacre released a four hundred fifty eight page report last week, it detailed how the killer. We don't mention names of school is on this program was able to shoot so many victims inside the freshman building and Marjory stoneman Douglas, high the committee blamed security, breakdowns and a lack of training on the part of Broward. Sheriff's deputies some of whom took cover outside the building instead of promptly charging inside to confront the shooter as officers from neighboring Coral Springs did the report listed a number of other failures by BSO and the Broward school districts. Those other BSO problems included outdated malfunctioning radios, which prevented rescuers from responding more quickly and possibly saving lives. According to the report, the shooter was able to escape the school grounds without the police doing anything, of course, now faces thirty four counts of premeditated. -tated murder and attempted murder and will probably receive the death penalty early on Israel proclaims. His agency's handling of the tragedy. A success? He said that he did a wonderful job. He said, Mr President, these are the leaders they lead swat teams. They lead staging areas. They lead command post, we are the best. But then it turns out that that was a bunch of nonsense sheriff's deputy signs of the school Scott Peterson. So cover outside rather than running toward the building. As the shots were being fired later. Bodycam video showed another deputy in leisurely fashion sorting through his trunk for his bulletproof vest, and then crouching behind his car for several minutes as shots were heard in the background when CNN's Jake tapper Ascott, Israel, whether he would have done anything differently that could have changed the outcome. The sheriff said, quote, ifs and buts, if it's and buts were candy and nuts. OJ Simpson would still be in the record books. Scott Israel, now, he's going to go, but not not until a year goes by it, which everybody knew this guy was brutally incompetent terrible and his job but said the right political things and so was treated with kid gloves by a lot of members of the media nationwide. Justice Sonning Justice, Donna stuff, so Scott Israel, on his way out speaking of which one of the beautiful things about being a democrat is a means never having to actually perform your job, Scott. Israel's a lifetime democrat never had to perform his job. Speaking of lifetime Democrats who never have to perform their job. Jerry Brown of California is on his way out when I say lifetime democrat. I mean, the Jerry Brown has been around since the earth began to cool Jerry Brown was governor of California back in the seventies. He is governor of California or was it until five minutes ago. His office has now been taken over by the ridiculous. Ten doll- Gavin Newsom former San Francisco mayor most famous for not cleaning up San Francisco and also not doing anything as Lieutenant governor. So his seller record in California. There's a piece in the New York Times today that is just beyond parody. It's by a woman named Miriam Poel it contributed opinion writer, he's the author of a book called the Browns of California, the family dynasty that transform state and shape the nation A, here's how this puff piece goes, so we're not gonna actually review Jerry Brown's record. I live in California. Jerry Brown's Manet garbage governor. Hey, the we haven't taken on anything like the stomach levels of debt that the state of California now suffers from we haven't taken on the fact that CalPERS the pension system in the state of California is unfunded and that supposed- percentage return on CalPERS investment there. They basically said that all the money they put into the retirement funds in California that those are going to appreciate it like six or seven percent if I could get my investments to appreciate it. Six percent six or seven percent. I'd put them in CalPERS effect is he's incurred enormous liability. The fact is crime has gone up in the state all we've just had a lot of police departments. Falsifying those crime statistics for the political benefit of Democrats across. The state, but the homelessness problem in California is just as Astor areas. San Francisco has been taken over by the homeless people shooting up in public on streets of San Francisco. Human poop, every two blocks in San Francisco. My home city of Los Angeles is covered in excrement. My home city of Los Angeles has been taken over by seventy thousand homeless people would live on the streets of Los Angeles who are creating a public health problem and also do not have a right to live on the streets and also many of whom are mentally ill and drug users who should be living on the streets for their own good. The state of California has made that easier. Crime rates have gone up property, violent crime rates have gone up where they have been properly measured the state of California plays a little tricks with their stats, and what they like to do a lot of these cities is they just pretend they can't do it really with murders. But they can do it with all sorts of other crimes, they will just downgrade particular felonies, they'll say that a a violent felony is actually just a misdemeanor. They'll just keep downgrading the stats to pretend the crime didn't take place. Now, you don't care when you're punched in the face and robbed whether the police call it a felony or a misdemeanor, but the police care, whether they call it a felony or a misdemeanor sometimes their state funding depends on it. But all of this is to be ignored, Jerry. Brown's actual record is to be ignored. We cannot pay attention to his actual record crime is up. According to the Los Angeles Times ally of Jerry Brown's back in December of two thousand eighteen so less than a month ago. The state of California recognized that California had basically botched on crime and analysis by the Marshall projects in the LA times down the California's crime rates remain near historic lows, which is an easy way of saying they're actually increasing since they reached a store low several years ago, but overall crime spiked in both two thousand twelve and twenty fifteen years that immediately followed two major statewide measures aimed at decreasing the number of people in prison. Those jumps were mainly driven by increases in property crimes. Particularly theft of motor vehicles, California sites wealth percents increase in increase in violent crime from two thousand fourteen to twenty seventeen as opposed to national downward trends in violent crime, the violent crime rate in the forty nine other states during that period increased three percents. It was quadruple. Well that in California. In two thousand fourteen that was the year the California voters under the influence of governor Brown approved a ballot measure that reduced sentences for many low level, drug and property crimes. This is why I'm very skeptical of criminal Justice reform. I don't think that letting people out of prison is a very good solution to stop and crime. California's property crime rate fell slightly in the last two years. But some of that is because people are just not reporting it at the police department level rate of property crimes in the nation drop by ten percent since two thousand fourteen but it's two year two percent higher than it was in two thousand fourteen in California. I love this. The LA times says there is no simple explanation. No there really is is a really simple explanation. Jerry Brown a bunch of people out of prison. And then threw it on the local police departments and told them that if they didn't falsify their stats basically that they were going to pay the price at the ballot box. Maybe they'd beat the funded. Maybe he called them racist. That's the way it works in the state of California. The reason I bring all of this up is because in the media having to be a good governor does not ever cross paths with being a democrat..

This is what everybody's been asking all day and the president's going to be making a speech to the nation from what I understand not a very long one about eight minutes is what is expected and it's going to be at eight o'clock our time exactly eight oh, one thirty. I'm told the thing about this president versus Obama is that he tends to be on time. Whereas, you know, Obama would say I want thirty minutes at nine o'clock eastern nine forty. He's still wouldn't be there. But be that as it may what is he going to say. That's what everyone is asking. We're gonna get into it with our experts a little later in the show. But my question to you is do you think the president should declare a national state of emergency in order to build the wall? Would that be a way to get around congress to get the job done would that be a way to get around congress to at least give him bragging rights that he tried to build the wall? If congress does indeed or the judiciary does try to stop him later. This is one of the last campaign promises the president made. And I think he wants to go into next year an election year with a clean slate. Saying see I did this this and this. Your thoughts.
