"What I would say is like, I do listen a lot when I listen to other shows if I listen to Rogan or somebody that thinks really good, I try to pay attention from self improvement standpoint and try to pick up things that I think that they do well. Even like when that interview went out when Oprah fucking interviewed Adele, Markle Meghan Markle and prince, what is it, Harry? Will you marry? Harry. Harry. And everybody was going crazy about how good of an interview were. I remember I went through a watch that like two or three times. I was like, all right, I want to, in that standpoint, I want to try to pick some shit up. So I think you can probably try to get better at it, but I don't know, because Trent, I remember our first guy Alex Schneider Jan's like, that's probably the first interview I've ever we've ever done, and it's just, you kinda just like, I think this is how it's gonna go. And then you just and it wasn't, it wasn't a disaster. If there were two mes in that room, it would have been a disaster. 'cause the ability, what I've noticed is the ability to be thinking about the next thing while the person is talking about the last thing that you ask them, that is the gift. And I do not possess that. I'm always focusing on every single word and then when they're answer ends, I'm like, all right, now what do we do? I will say that's the biggest challenge for me because I always try to have another I always try to have the next question ready, but also you don't want to sacrifice or skip out on what they're saying because if they say something really interesting, you want to try to follow up or you want to obviously digest what they're saying so that you could bring it up later or reference it or whatever. And I will say that, especially early on, that was a big weakness of mind that I'd be so fucking nervous about making sure when they stopped talking that it's not just dead silent that sometimes I wouldn't listen to what they're saying. And it's interesting. It's an interesting thing. These are the things that I think about because that's Scott Eastwood interview is a different interview than we normally do. Yeah, it's just a couple guys getting thrown into the wolves and trying to survive..

"Apparently shot 61, I think Monday. So that's part of the world playing really well. He's in Arizona. He's an ASU guy. I think he really wants to win this golf tournament. So a lot of signs are pointing towards John rom that's easy to say is the betting favorite. Britt, way to go out and Riggs. Well, you, that's what I'm hearing. Riggs you set off the top, you mentioned that Brooks Koepka won this term in last year, and that is true, but this was Jordan Spieth's term at last year. That was everyone's main takeaway last year. That's 61 on Saturday. That feels like so long ago. We've come, there's been so much that has happened with Spieth in terms of his golf game, even since then, that like, that is what's cool about this tournament. It's like, yeah, there's a guy. There's a lot surrounding it, right? Like there's the 16th fold. There's the partying. There's a bachelor parties. There's the defending champ, but then you can have a guy like Jordan Spieth pop up and really like rekindle his career. Like, that was the, that was the turning point, and then he had, obviously, a pretty damn good after that. I think he's up to 13th in the world. Obviously had a good finish at AT&T should have won probably, but that's that's the type of stuff that can happen and there's gonna be a lot of eyeballs on this tournament. So like viral golf stuff like that almost always happens at some point during this tournament. Yeah, you're right. That was when that was when it really was Jordan Spieth is back. He pointed me around 17 and made that put. He pointed across the guy on the ground and had the whole thing going so you're right, Trent, that was remembered Brooks Koepka. I mean, it really didn't feel like it was broke koepka's tournament until he hold out on 17 with that little chip and then I was like, oh fuck, he's gonna kinda win this whole tournament. I walked by Spieth yesterday he was signing autographs. I didn't really know what to do. I don't know if I'm supposed to try to say hi to that guy and he was just, I was inside the ropes. He was kind of, there's a little area between the putting green and the actual driving range where a bunch of fans congregate in speed's great with fans so he was kind of interacting with fans. I think he was sitting on a grassy, but either way, he was like there with everybody. Maybe taking selfies. And it was just me and him. Like inside that ropes for probably 50 yards..

"Not being able to drink the trailer. I don't like this idea of a younger version. I dunno. I still like tom hall and did a little bit better. My friend thought he did a little bit better than i thought he would be. But i still don't think that he was the right fit for that. It was not the right fifth rent. Let's put it out there. I sit down on the friday show. I've been saying it for a long time. My friend i was still the biggest scott eastwood fan in regards to this at thought he was a perfect fit at those a perfect match for age right look right mannerisms right characteristics. The only thing that he doesn't have is his own name as star to front this type of film could have put it as a series on a streaming service and sony would still made a killing on it. But i assuming that tom hall on played the game or just had some sort of affinity for the game that i wanna do. This is a project. That's how it got all governor. He's hot right now. Man with the spiderman. And i know but i'm not happy about my friend. It just doesn't seem like a good fit and then marky mark who at one time was pitching to be a nathan drake years back one of the many iterations of this movie. How it's gone through production and trying to get made. Yeah he was actually wanting to be at the nathan drake at one time. Probably could have been a better nathan drake at that time but it's very questionable. I'm not understanding why they just don't choose a better path but again w- i'm gonna keep my eyes and ears somewhat open. I am going to support it. i'm gonna watch it. We'll see what happens there but you're gonna go at least check it out right. Yeah i mean. I'll i'll definitely watch it know my wife's a big tom holland fan. I'm sure we'll watch it at some point..

It can be a very good business philosophy, depending on the legality of what you're talking about. Like I have heard stories about from both of you about how somebody has been in the building interviewing with either another station or another thing, And you guys just wouldn't grab that person. That is to me is the most beautiful thing. I mean, so like if behaving badly, is kind of your on brand for you? Yeah, I know. Director Rod Lurie on 'The Outpost'

"The new movie the outpost. It was the most downloaded film of the weekend, and it's an immersive experience. It's about an outpost in Afghanistan at the base of this valley. If you're just joining us, it was sort of a bizarre placement of this base. But what happened was there was a Taliban insurgency of massive proportion and the director of the film Rob Gloria's is talking with us. This was a true incident. It was chronicled in a book by Jake Tapper, and then you brought it to the screen. Yeah. Jake Tapper released that best selling book in 2012. It was great. You know, when I When I first time out to do it, I called Jake up and, you know, he just wants to talk movies. So I want to do is talk about politics. So we sort of have to divvy it up every time that way. Have a conversation just because you mentioned politics I want tojust also know this is not a political film at all. I mean, really like there's no, no, it's not Pro War antiwar, pro GOP Anti GOP Pro Democrats. Cetera. There's none of that. No, it's about it's about. We really focus on the eight dudes of lost our lives and the two living member to living survivors. By definition, They're living survivors who received the Medal of Honor. One is Ty Carter, played by Caleb Landry, Jones and the other Is Scott Eastwood on DH. He plays staff Sergeant Clint Roma Shay and And that's really worried for what it really is A chronicle of what happened in the battle and sort of the events that led up to it. I would tell you more than anything else. And you know you've got Orlando Bloom and it also it's funny that one should you know, Should you give everybody best haircut and the you know basic Army. Whatever that, you know, Whatever you call it, you lose track. I guess I'm trying to say of any celebrity in it all. It's all very immersive. How did you know that was clearly a desire on your part, too? You know these battle sequences and just the feeling over time is that we're actually there at the outpost. Well, you know, the one of the things that I did mark is that I shot most of most of the film every scene in one long tape in the battle sequences, things on these long, I think really fluid takes And so you know, there's you don't think you're in a movie. I don't think you don't see cutaways. You don't see You know Scotty's would shooting his weapon and then cut a bad guy going down. It's you know, it's all in the long fluid. Um, uh, shots and as a result, I think that you're you're deeply embedded in every scene. At least that's what we were. That's what we're going for. Well, All the reviews were saying the exact same thing isn't very well reviewed film. But I have to ask you, though, from a filmmaker's pinpoint as you're doing that all in one continuous shot. You have all of these things got here got bullets everywhere and you got stuff blowing up and you've got, you know, guys running this way and other people running that way and people climbing over, you know, I mean, there's a lot to choreographing end in one of those things doesn't happen. You gotta retake it again. Oh, so like, you know, that's exactly right. So we've got special effects. I mean, you already laid it all out on the special effects the actress to get it right. And I remember there was this one really, really magnificent Take That we did, and kid Landry Jones, who zeal just hauling ass hundreds of yards, and we're following in the hallway with the, uh you know this one camera and the camera operators exhausted when it's all done, but everyone we nailed it and everybody's cheering and high fiving and tight. Carter. The actual Medal of Honor winner is there and he's hugging and crying, and you got it exactly right and then our military experts Guy named Jericho Dem and comes up and says, No, no, no, no, no, You've got it all wrong. No, no, It's a mess back guy that I was holding his weapon like that doesn't look like one explosion. Supposed to look like I said them. Come on, man. It's a movie was okay. Well, if you want every military guy in America and the world elastic find, Okay. Let it all up again and do it again, You know, And that is the thing you you have to be loyal to story and also to the look of the film as He said before the break. You know you are connected to the military sort of in your own personal history. And obviously a lot of military people looking on this movie. Well, well, you know we've gotten look, I wrote an article today in the deadline and what I said was, it's really difficult to know the metrics of success are But to me how the veterans have reacted to this has been like, unbelievable. And and you know what Marc, also how the families of fallen reacted to this. That was really freaking way. Show them this movie last October, we flew them in the moms and the dads and the brothers and the You know the wives and the kids, and we don't know what they're gonna say after work, you know? The actual soldiers that were there, looking at the worst day of their lives depicted on screen. And these families are looking at their loved ones dying on screen. You know, a couple of people afterwards and you know, I I didn't realize they swore so much. Ah, but there was really in the end, very gracious. And they hugged us and they loved us because you know they're They're boys. They're men and their sons there. They're going to be remembered forever now and You know, That's not something every soldier gets. So you know, I know it sounds corny, more But you know, having been a soldier that is really it was really, really important to all of us. I think it's happened. The capper was a wreck that night, and it's really interesting to watch it because that guy's such a cool cookie when he's interviewing generals and senators and governors and ripping them new ones, and you know who he is, But you know, on a night like this It was a flop Sweating. So was so was I, but it was It was pretty amazing night. I mean, you have to. You really are trying to honor the memory of people and you're trying to honor those who fought so valiantly and the movie, I think does that with, you know, without knowing the history as deeply as you do, Obviously, I just I was riveted by it, and I think it's powerful, both emotionally and in every other way. The movie is called the Outpost. Rod Lurie is the director. It's got Orlando Bloom's got Eastwood mentioned Caleb Lander Jones as well, but it really transcends any kind of one performance. I think it's really one of those films that I was blown away by. So congratulations. Really nice job, Rod. Thank you, Marc. I I really really appreciate appreciate it. it. Thanks for taking my call to take a page out of writs book. Finally, I've been calling for two weeks. And I know you have the smack often everything's all respect for that. But let me preface my call by saying that As a L, A Dodger and L. A Laker fan living in the Bay Area. Nobody wants The seasons to start back up or to get going more than me because I have to listen to the Giants and Warriors fans here. Especially after the Dodgers fell flat. Why? Well got cheated twice, but Onda Lakers would actually tie Felt picked for the most rings ever. But I'm kind of tired of you and all these athletes complain about the bubble and this and then trying to find all these different excuses. You have the option to opt out. I was I was in the army. And when we got deployed, there was no option. Opt out. So these guys complaining about Oh, I'm going to be, you know, away from my family for 23 months. Hey, At least you know you're going back at some point I left For six months. I didn't know if I was coming home. I didn't know when. Because you're not going to get some tail for three months. Relax, you'll get over. You'll get all the hell you want, especially if you win a ring at the end of the season, you know? We don't have that option. Like I said, So. How is them saying? Well, we're going to get exposed to the virus while we're there. Hey, I could have been shot and never came home or came home in a box. If you fall off the safety protocols that are put in place and you're not doing something you're not supposed to. In theory. Once you get to the bubble, you should be faith. At least that's my opinion. I appreciate that, Mike. Nice job. Nice to have you on him, like, Thank you very much for your service to your military service. Here's the thing. I mean, Fighting for your country and risking your life. Is one thing. There's nothing like that. That just set that aside. That's the ultimate sacrifice. And I'm so glad that the men and women of our armed forces do that because most of us aren't And none of us could do what we do, if not for that. So thank you for your service in terms of athletes and them trying to decide whether or not to go into the bubble. I understand that. I mean, this is not as easy as it sounds. It really isn't. It's not as easy as saying. Yeah, well, what do you have to do? Go to a hotel? Stay in the hotel. Leave the hotel. Get your work in. Go back to the hotel make millions of dollars. How hard can that be? There's more to it than that. You know again, they are being asked to leave their family for weeks. If not months. I think that's not a small thing. And there is a virus and there's a concern about that, too, especially in a hot spot where they're trying to restart the MBA. I think I think the players deserve a little more credit than that There is risk involved. Not the risk that you had to endure or except for sure. But I don't think it's a case of millionaire athletes stop crying. It's the cove it there is some risk, but not the kind of risk I tow deal with fair enough, But there is risk. Right Cove. It's no joke. Everybody rushed back in because everybody got confident, not everybody but in those areas and in those states, where it was not taken seriously. And people did rush back in and they got confident we sought Spike up yet again. It's a really thing people. It is killing people, lots of people hundreds of thousands of people, so it's not a small thing. I respect that. That might not be the easiest decision. And if somebody decides I don't want to do it. And here's why I don't want to do it. I don't want my family. I don't want to put myself at risk. They're certain social issues that require my attention Right now. It doesn't feel right to me. I'm not going to do it. If that's your decision. I respect that. If your decision is well, actually, it's probably safer in the bubble than it is outside the bubble, and I could make a difference inside the bubble. And frankly, the money is a real thing. Economics or really thing I'm going in there. I'm gonna assume that risk. I respect that, too. I think what I'm getting at also and again. No disrespect. To Mom and Mike in the service that he performed for this country and thank you very much again for that service. I think it's.

"While taught Scott Eastwood is on the wells cast today a easily the best looking guest we've ever had on the show. I gotta say that's right. That's right I WANNA do some rapid fire questions but I I wanted to ask what is what is something that people wouldn't believe about you like where where there's some things that people just don't know about Scott That I would gladly sleep in the back of my truck if I didn't have a hotel room. Yeah you mini group in Monterey for a little bit so I assumed you surf in Carmel. Bill and then you went to Hawaii assumed you serve there. I was like looking at some of your instagram Videos and stuff is still big part of your life it is. Yeah Yeah it is. It's a it's a good part of my life. It's very healthy. Part of my life I credit a lot of surfing to To like my direct happiness just being being by the ocean being Being able to travel to exotic places all over the world and experience those those experiences and being the saltwater it's a it's a really positive thing. There's a video on instagram. That I think you guys surfing. Maybe your paddle boarding. I'm not sure and it looks like it doesn't look like a couple of ORCAS show up underneath into show up. We actually. This is a really stupid bonehead moved but Me and my buddy were in in Mexico. We were down in behind. Hi and we saw them. And my buddy said you think we could panel out to them in time as they're passing by and yeah we probably could you try and so we tried and got out there and and the weirdest thing about that experience was my buddy. He'd Watched Finding Nemo a few times. Yeah he thought he could speak whale. I was watching it. I was like is he doing the Nemo Right. He did the name of the thing and I told him he's an idiot and I turned out to be the cause it worked. Yeah and and sort of loss for words He did they. We didn't get out there in time. They had passed by us. Yeah and he did the Nemo thing and he called him back really call them back and they came back and they just swam around us and we'd just literally just you know them. Did you touch on the really wild. They're not danger danger. There's a human's are they. I think they are smarter than we know. Yeah and I think they can do whatever they want. Thank you know. Look where I'm I'm on one piece. He's so I'm happy. Are we going to re post that video on the walls gas instagram is bonkers faust. Going through els like is this real because I think you see your face I was like maybe this is just a random video of some surfers at you like took but I. It's amazing that was actually. It's so cool rapid fire questions L.. Let you go you're ready. rapid-fire clashes the Scott Eastwood Number One. I Kiss Eight years old. Well you remember her name. nope wow that's hurtful.

"Obviously like Mike and I. I don't want to harp on the patriarchal thing of this but there is a your dad is known as a as a great actor actor but now I feel like he's almost pivoted to this direct to`real hierarchy is. Is that where you would like like to see your career go as well or is it like an all encompassing entertainment. I don't know I don't know I don't I'm not ready to direct. Yeah it's a lot of As a Labor of love especially when when you're first starting out I think as as a director got to get people to believe in your movie. Your vision you gotta go raise money. You have to go through all the things that I've gone through an an an added on top of that. You have to get people to believe that you can do it better than an established guy so. I don't think I'm ready to do that. Quite yet. But we'll see a man might direct a movie and be like a love this. Oh my Gosh I love this more than than acting not on my movie and they hate us. Yeah I mean you're you're kind of doing the self-deprecation thing which I do a lot as well but to be fair. You are very talented actor. You've been in some very big movies. I mean suicide. Squad is huge Asia Pacific Rim. I had forgotten about invictus Of all these are big big films of all of these films. uh-huh which one did you love working on the most and I get this question a lot and it's an impossible question the answer it's it's like asking a parent. What could they like them right? They're all they're all you know. They all have great experiences. They all have their ups and their downs. Yeah Some experiences are much better than others. Yeah and I think you'll learn something From each of them. Every time you do a movie. It's kind of like a little mini summer camp. Yeah they all have their own life force you meet different personalities from people And you know you find that you find out that there's people you'd like one hundred percent WanNa work with again and again and you WANNA WANNA do thousand movies with and there's people you Never WanNa work with the kids and that's just people. That's just life right. I mean you just go through life and it's the same thing as To sort of it's hyper concentrated to Spending a lot of time with people that you don't know all of a sudden for a two and a half three months four months months That's a that's You know There's GonNa be personalities that clash. Yeah I won't be a jerk and ask who you didn't like working with but I would like to know who are some of your favorite people to work with I've got a long list as far as as far as directors I've been really lucky and on that list of people You Know I. I've gotten to work with directors like Oliver Stone and George. Tillman junior and In the mean goes on and on of people G- really great directors. I'm drawing a blank right now. Oh Yeah Clint Eastwood. He's on there somewhere. I heard already him but I think there's a lot of a lot of people that I I really admire. And and unless I'm working on a film right now with Guy Ritchie who it's it's been an incredible experience yeah we're shooting in here in. La So yeah what about in terms of like co stars ars and fellow actors who are some of the best people to be around on sat with The best people are the nicest people. Yeah the they're just you know the the most down to Earth I don't know if I need to get into names but there's a lot of really nice nice people out there that don't go to Brunch. Yeah and they're super professional show up and do their job and and are nice and ungracious to everybody and not just the actors you know the crew People that you'd never know their name and and you might not ever know their name but they're a gracious as everyone has to get up in the morning and show up and and do the same job you know you're there for the same. You know time you're doing it altogether. It's collaboration yeah So anybody the answer is anybody who he doesn't think of themselves as more important than anyone else. Yeah I mean I. I've done enough TV shows now to know the importance it's of crew and it's weird because if crew you never see obviously and that's the kind of the point but let's say you're called call. Time is six six thirty. AM which socks you know. That means that there was someone that was setting up lighting at three thirty. Am You know like there are are all these jobs that people don't even think about And without all those guys and girls wouldn't work doesn't happen you you know I mean I think that's an have also been on enough sets where people are divas and assholes else do those people and as a person who's had I've had a radio since I was a kid and I always produced in myself so I was like Parr talent and then also effectively crew. Yeah yeah it absolutely. There's nothing worse actually. There's one one thing that's worse than the diva who's an ass into like the lighting guy to come on. What do you want to do? The only person that's worse is a person who's rude to their waiter. Have you ever been on a date or with someone who's mean to their waiting like really lay. Just slip out the back door on. Yeah and then. You're in trouble by proxy because they they may they can mess with your food. Now I'm hanging out with Scott Eastwood on the walls cash right now. You have a clothing clothing. Line named Made here brand dot com socks shirts. Hats boxers officers. How many times you've been asked boxers briefs question a lot? Yeah I won't do that. I won't do that to you. I remember doing radio super a young and And we had a list of ten questions never to ask. Yeah and that was number one less sir and of course the prep that I got was like an boggles. Every it's not gonNA happen MADE HERE BRAND DOT com. They got a Promo Code Right now. Wells twenty twenty percent office is perfect stuff for the holidays or just for anytime really What made you want to do this? I mean What drove you into the like the clothing world? That's a good question. I didn't really see myself going to the clothing world but I have a business. This is partner who who really came up with the idea and You know he pitched me on it and I said that's a really good idea and I would like to see more clothes and more more products made here in America. Yeah I'm American. Manufacturing is something that used to be a massive staple in our country and to see that all shipped elsewhere is Is Is a shame. It's the antenna jobs and and and it kind of goes back to you. Know how we were when we when people lived in small communities with each other they would trade goods. Yeah you know that's how you use. That's that's that's how it was based on it was a trading society and the bigger the world gets more you know we just sort of outsource those things from farther away place because of economic reasons And I just think it's it's really cool to to support people that are that are here and we have amazing manufacturing in America Erica and why not support it and why not bring more products back here and and and in so doing so you know more jobs but what do you think the reason zip purely financial driven that things are being sent elsewhere. I think yeah I think so. Yeah I mean why would we if it if it the cost more. We wouldn't do it do it there. Well it's really cool And I also love the I guess the sustainability of it with the recycled materials. Some stuff. Yeah it's really important. I mean we have. We have a massive problem with You know with With single use plastics. Six and You know unremarkable goods So that's something that I really wanted to be a part of the solution right. You know you ever ever needs closer running stuff and so How can you package that and and and created so it's not you know it's it's It's good for the environment early. It's it's it's Sustainable yeah the websites made here brand. Dot Com. Promo Code is wells. Twenty hanging out with Scott Eastwood Sweat. Who's literally apparently done everything at this point now getting in the clothing line which is very very cool renting a quick break and when we come back I WANNA do kind of rapid fire questions and then.

I really want to try that a ton of things. I mean there's a there's a ton of stories and movies that That that I wanNA tell and that I'm currently trying to to tell and working toward that goal as writer producer like in not writer but producing. Yeah an acting and maybe one day directing. Yeah Yeah Ben Bullen here co host of the PODCAST CAST stuff. They don't want you to know ridiculous. "There you know it's Then people could be really yeah to each other that we were talking. I was talking to Kate. flannery about it and yeah I remember doing brunches. Did you ever work a brunch. I'm sure yeah the idea. The brunch crowd is the worst group of humans. That has ever been assembled together yet because probably a lot of them are are like. Is this Sunday let them hungover. Yep Right so they're they're just ansi the in their this at their low they're either super hung over and just mad at the world So then of course by proxy. They're mad that you yep they are or they are like vapid way too much energy getting wasted on bottomless samosas and by proxy Z.. Rodeo or and I I did this when I was in in Nashville so there was a big church crowd that would come in and so they feel so good about themselves and what they're doing and they went to church this morning that they are by proxy horrible to you because they can set they breast reset on like Being they did there good thing now that can be an talking. You know that. Sound like fun now I I think it's so cool that you that you did that. I mean like you you come. You're coming from the entertainment family but still you were like no. I'm going to. I'm going to work these jobs going to kind of pull myself up well. It wasn't really wasn't a choice wasn't like if I probably had the choices ETA said. Oh no sure I'll do whatever you know I it was it was it was by necessity. Yeah that's that's that's sort of how that worked. Do you remember. Remember like the first Gig you booked Some small roles in some small movies. Yeah I don't remember the It just it just ice. Yeah I started having some things happen I was also it was also kind of mood lining I did some modeling work was able to you know. Get some chicken scratch that way and and kind of keep keep the whole dream alive. Yeah do you remember if there was a moment where you're like. I think this could work. I think I think I can make this happen. I still wake up everyday everyday. I hope I helped this could work. I don't know yeah yeah is there. was there a film or project that you worked on where you're like. Alright we're there now No the interesting thing about about about it is you know unless you're a writer or someone who's so talented that it's undeniable can create your own screenplays your director you you. You're kind of in the business of of being at the mercy of the other people to hire you for their projects. Yeah and that's all you know. I mean I put a lot of credit. Mostly just you know probably my reputation of just showing up and working hard and not Not Definitely not the best. So it's it's it's a reputation thing like hey you know he's good. He can do the job. Yeah but yeah. You're you're a little bit your little bit powerless in that in that way. And so that's that's That's not like that's what my favorite position to be in. Yeah in my life and I think that sometimes is why It emits so tough for for for actors because every time you do a job then reset Right then you reset. Then you're all of a sudden you're unemployed. Yeah and you know I mean it might happen As you Kinda like get closer to the layer cake of you know the the top of the Food Pyramid at I think that for for the big big big league megastars out there that that is less and less concern But everyone everyone.

We Got Dad hats to do you go dots we gotTa Talk About Your Dad in a little bit so I don't know if anyone told you what the the idea of this show is origin stories. I'm just like kind of obsessed with how people get to where they are. Everyone knows the story of when someone becomes famous because then all of a sudden they're in line life. With how the Hell did you get to that. Point is what's interesting to me. And it's a blueprint for a lot of people that want to be in the entertainment industry or we have a lot of athletes or musicians on. And I think it's very interesting now for you I have a weird connection with you and I don't think you know it but when you walked in your like have we met before and so maybe we have. I'm not sure You grew up in a little town called Monterey California And I grew up in a little town called called Monarch California. Oh really yeah Your father is a obviously Clint Eastwood. He owns a golf club in Carmel. Called to hey ma Of which my father is a member nice and I used to play golf so I was on the high school golf team and I used to play golf with your dad every once in a while because your dad was cool enough to be like a private clubs very nice but your dad was up to be like the golf team and come and play here for free and sometimes he'd come mouth us and play and it was so cool. Yeah so your dad is one of the nicest guys in the world. I've gotta say this. I've been in radio since I was sixteen in years old. My first radio state radio show was for a high school called Stevenson which I actually didn't even go to school there but they allowed me to do a radio show there and my favorite movie to this day is your father's direct to`real debut. It's a movie called play misty for me where where he plays a radio. Dj in Carmel. which actually is a real jazz station that still airs there? Yeah And when I was in College Doing Radio Your Dad's character on in that movie. His name's Dave garber and he was like this bad asked Jazz. Dj that was trying to make it in the world and San Francisco. And I used to do a jazz show in college and I would by the name Dave Gardner and no no one got it the reference but I would play jazz music from like midnight to three on Saturdays and my thought my hope hope was that people were just doing the sex listening to my trail of your father From an amazing film called play misty for for we sell. That is our connection. My brother actually went to high school. I think with your half sister Alison So I mean there's a weird connection here so yeah yeah welcome to the show man. Thanks for having me. That's a good story And what school. What school did you go to? I went to Paul into the all boys school in Salina. Oh okay that's probably okay. We didn't really know each other. So I WANNA start at the beginning so you grow up. You grow up in Monterey Carmel or have Appel Beach I'm not exactly sure your living But you were only there for a short time right like at some point you moved away. Yeah I lived in Hawaii With my mom for ten years. Yeah yeah something like that from like six to sixteen five to sixteen or something some eleven years And and then yeah then. I came back and I went to high school. I finished up high school in in California and then and then I moved then and I went to college and then went to Santa Barbara City College Okay and which by the way is nicer than UCSB it is. I remember my my girlfriend rand went to UCSB and all my idiot friends went to Santa Barbara City College and we were like we're partying partying over. There aren't a UCS Ya yeah. I was I was one of the idiots who into the city college but it was. It was pretty good and then Loyola I well I went. I only went there for about a year And I sort of like I realized said Oh man I I got I gotta get going with my career. Yeah At this moment I was i. I remember a member like so clear. It was I was out to lunch and run into a friend that had recently graduated college and he was doing doing the same thing I was doing. He was bussing tables at a restaurant and I was like Oh man. Well Shit I better get going then an and like figure this whole thing out in parallel and so then I moved Allen and And you know try to chase the you know the entertainment business. Yeah And then I went to college to continue to go to college. I went to Santa Monica City. College and Eventually I went to Leyla marymount amount after several years and I ended up graduating from there. I was I was my college experience. Meet your father or is I mean I guess he's probably I don't know if there's a ranking but I would assume he's in the top ten greatest actors of all time. I don't know growing hang up in that environment. That household. Did that seem something that would be conducive to follow in his footsteps or was there apart growing up of when you were like I want to do something completely different than that. I think I always really liked movies. I didn't know in what capacity capacity. I wanted to be involved in movies. Yeah but I was really liked him But I don't know if I ever thought I had to do it It it just sort of fell into it sort of said okay. Well let me give it a shot. And let's see if see if I can do it. Yeah and I was SORTA sale. Like I'm Kinda like a like a walk on player. Okay who's like just Kinda able to get it done and do it you know not. I'm definitely not the most talented guy in the room. There's a lot of lot of talented filmmakers and actors and artists out there but I was ever able to cobble together and and kind of figure figure up figure out a path. Do you get like advice from your dad like growing like but I was like my fiance comes from a line of actors right and their and she's an actress and their advice to her was do not do this. It's going to be so hard. That's pretty good advice. Yeah it's pretty good advice. I mean like you said that before. I've given that advice. But what would your dad say that what he was like. Listen I don't know man it's GonNa be tough it's it's just He might say that he might not you know it depends on when you catch them. It's the thing about it is. There's a lot of timing in an luck involved you have to be you have to be able to do it and be talented. I think but There's a lot of really really talented people that that maybe never the name maybe never achieve sort of success they want or or dreamed of. Yeah but I think if you're if you're if you're okay with you know knowing it's it's sort of their some lock in timing of other you know you could do it and maybe it works. Maybe it doesn't I WANNA go back to you said that at some point you were bussing tables. Yeah I love the facts so weird. We've had had this string of guests on who have talked about their life in the service industry so much so that we've thought about changing the podcast idea of just talking into celebrities about working the service industry because for whatever reason it's the common denominator It's a job that pays relatively relatively well. The hours are flexible. So you can kind of like still go to auditions and still work on things and th and everyone is in is working on in in in the art community in that in that world. So were you just Like a busboy. Or did you do Rio. Waiter a host of Barton's you do all those all those all those jobs at one point in time or another yeah Valley Park cars. Yeah it's also kind of flexible one. The clock end for four to six hours. And do you shift. And then then Going to pursue other things. Yeah what was your biggest biggest pet peeve of working in the service industry dealing with dealing with human. Yeah.

"Who are they gonna do though because they feel like a lot of Batman villains are kinda lame because apparently they're talking about the penguin and having Josh Gad on that. And then mate what the Ridler all these guys are kinda lame. You need someone who can be dark kind of in the same way that twisted the joker into it. They listed him. Yeah. The joker in the Batman series is like moving into other before getting married. Just like, you know, we're comfortable now. Like, we're going to see if this really works. And then if it does we'll take it from there. They just do Mr. freeze or ooh to to face could work. But how did they introduce that? So I'm so tired to face. I'm just tired of Harvey dent. I don't think the Harvey dent characters all that interests not to face either a never going to face guy. And he was I can't say I don't like saying objectively for movies, but fuck it. He was objectively the worst part about dark nine. Yeah. The weight. Yeah. I know like you went through a really traumatic event. But the way he just one eighty on his entire belief system of thirty six feet from the joker. That's all too. It's it's chaos. You got a point. Yeah. I know it's a comic book movie, and that's nitpicking. But I've never really been like really down with the Harvey dent character because he's always just I never really cared about the Gotham city politics as much I'd like to go deeper into the Alfred Batman relationship who who's going to be Alfred in this though, they're gonna get what's his name Jeremy Irons back like a coming of age Batman. We're just. Yeah. Just like have Alfred and Batman and. I don't know how you do that. Because now I'm talking about seems kind of boring, and honestly, that's kind of the LEGO Batman movie dip, it did the most of that never seen in the entire bap and cinematic universe. Good. Good question. Those who do they get to play right troll in this one because they need Rachel nece on the needle love interest. There hasn't been a love interest while well, it does sound like there's going to be a younger, Bruce, Wayne. That's what they're now saying entertain. Want a young? I don't wanna younger Bruce way is this going to be an origin story. 'cause I can't do that feel like we're past that now. Yeah, I bet they don't do an origin. And I bet they don't do like, Tom Holland young. But I I bet it's going to be like a toddler Batman like a Scott Eastwood age. Ronnie, actually, Scott Eastwood might be a good if he'd beefs up a little bit might be a pretty good pick for Batman squad. He was right flag. Was Joe Kinnamon? I don't think he was in suicide squad..
