Russell shines in return to Lakers after trade by T-Wolves
"Although LeBron James missed his second straight game with a sore left ankle, the Lakers used a late run to beat the warriors one O 9, one O three. Dennis schroder had 26 points. The difference in the game was the third quarter as the Lakers outscored Golden State 34 to 26. Center Anthony Davis had 13 points and 16 rebounds. We've been a very terrible third quarter team and this is one of the better third quarter teams in the league and we knew that I think we were down two and a half. We want to come out and when the third quarter. Jordan Poole scored 29 points for the warriors. Ryan leong, San Francisco

Louisiana State Treasurer John Schroder Discusses the ESG Movement
"Treasure. Let's slow this down for Pittsburgh steeler fan USC Trojans out there. ESG stands for environmental social governmental. And it's policies that corporations put in place and say, we're not going to harm the environment. We're not going to invest in socially left wing antitheses. And the governmental processes of these organizations, we're going to reform ourselves that we are in step with the local app. It's just woke. ESG is short for woke. So what we're doing right now, when I was, I praised Alec yesterday because a year ago, this nobody even was talking about this yet. And those treasures have different financial obligations across the country. I handle all debt for the state. I invest billions of dollars in trust funds, so I started with what I can do and what I can control. And I started and I'm going to say this on your radio show this morning and I have not said this publicly anywhere. It would have been working on move in $600 million out of BlackRock. Because as much as they want to infringe upon Louisiana, what they want, Louisiana, why shouldn't Louisiana have the same right to pick and choose who we do business with? And look, I've been drugged through court that I can't do this. I can't do that. This coin is single sided and I don't like it. And as this ESG thing grows, it's good to see legislators and treasures sitting in the same room yesterday, talking how are we going to fight against us because it's typically when you look at the makeup of Alec and you look at the makeup of the SOF membership, you know, it's not New York, it's not New Jersey, it's not California. It's not where all the number and mass is off. So they want to stuff this stuff right down our throat. Not on the coast. It's Iowa and Ohio. Yeah, Louisiana and Mississippi. And everybody in between.

"Change by tomorrow, but nevertheless, I think that's an indicator of the growth that we've seen and really how far we have come. So very, very much appreciated again. That was a big moment for me to sit there and see that and recognize that absolutely absolutely incredible and yeah, I'm so thankful and humbled by everybody out there who's been watching our shows and our programming. All right. Enough of me being sappy. Let's talk about some of the news. Dennis Schroeder, what is going on there? As of right now, Dennis schroder is still sitting out there as a free agent, of course, Lakers fans remember Dennis schroder as the guy who turned down $84 million from the Los Angeles Lakers. That's what's been the rumored turn that down two seasons ago, mid season that was going to be an extension thinking he could potentially get more in free agency and then the money dried up in free agency. He wound up having to take a taxpayer mid level exception deal from the Boston Celtics. They didn't enjoy the Dennis schroder experience that much, so they wound up trading him to the Houston Rockets. Now he sits as a free agent still, here we are getting closer to the end of July, the free agency frenzy has come and gone. Dennis schroder is still sitting out there. And he had an interaction today with LeBron James on Instagram in which Schroeder finished it off by saying we should run it back, something to that effect. Talked about running it back with LeBron. Suggesting that he would like to come back to the Los Angeles Lakers. And I think it's an interesting concept, right? Because on the surface, when you first hear that, you first hear Dennis schroder would like to be a Lake or again or dentist Schroeder. It's putting that message out there on Instagram that he'd be interested in and potentially returning to the Lakers. You think, no, let's not go down that path again. Remember, shooter had his chance. He said no. On principle, you don't want him back. But talent wise, Dennis schroder is better than a minimum player. Now, is he a pure point guard? No, absolutely not. He's a score first, second, third, fourth point guard. That's just what he is. And there is some skill set overlap with Kendrick nunn, for sure. Schroeder is, you guys may remember, I called him a bunch of times during that season to optimistic pastor, where he made passes where he just kind of hoped that a guy was going to be open. Certainly didn't have a great feel for that part of the game, but he's extremely quick. It can be pretty feisty, defensively, even if the advanced metrics didn't show him to be necessarily a great defender. He put in a lot of effort on that end of the floor, which we don't always say about every single player. So he did put in a lot of effort there. And he could score the basketball. If you have Dennis schroder, I think it really came down to this. If you have done a schroder as your starting point guard,

"Normally, if you interview 15 people, you're cutting it down, but hey, I guess they're being thorough. And they're processed. Yeah, I mean, that's the thing. If I'm a jazz fan, I'm looking at this and I'm just saying, great. Because it doesn't hurt you. To interview all these people. And you want to leave no stone unturned. You don't want to find out, oh, this great candidate was out there, but we just didn't bother to interview him because we only wanted to interview 6 or 7 people or something like that, right? So it makes sense. It also makes sense from a relationship building perspective. We talked about this in terms of the draft about bringing in as many players as you can, even if you don't have a pick, where they're projected to fall because you want to start to build that relationship a little bit that may become a factor down the road. Same can hold true for coaches. So I think this makes a ton of sense. Even if my headline didn't. Yeah, no, hey, I'm not going to pick on you too much for that. You're the one right. So you took that work off my plate, so I'll take it. All right, let's move on to let's look at the Detroit Pistons. So they are expected to bring back Marvin Bagley. Of course, they made that trade mid season to get him from the Sacramento Kings. So not a surprise that they're looking to bring him back. But what is surprising is that they are pursuing Dennis Schroeder. Ayton will get to him in just a second, but Dennis schroder has potentially a cheap option on the point guard market, you know, I don't know what Schroeder's market is really going to look like this summer. Obviously didn't have the market that he was hoping for. Last summer, and then started off the season with Keith's Boston Celtics. They got treated midway through to.

What a couple of twists that we've seen over the last couple of days. And you know what? What really struck me said is that we heard about this obviously after Jacob Blake and Kenosha and 2020, that was the year where we heard about this. And the media convicted him on day one. They made fun of Ricky Schroder and all the people who stood up for Kyle rittenhouse that they were just a bunch of white supremacy. Even the president himself, Biden called him a white supremacist. Do you know what really struck me? And I'm almost embarrassed to admit this because you know I keep up with the news like crazy. Yes. As I was kind of going through as this trial got underway, what was the last week? Probably. I was just going through and just refreshing everything in my mind. "Yeah, you know how much love? Yeah. So wrapping up tonight guys final thoughts on tonight's game? Shooter night was enjoyable. Don't get too comfortable with that. Moving on to Cleveland. To me that the crazy part, we didn't really talk much about it, but I just mentioned it kind of passing, but there were two and a half games out of first place in the east, which is crazy to think that they could just basically put together like a good week of basketball. And all of a sudden, everyone in the east is looking up to them as opposed to where they were like a week ago. It's crazy. Yeah, there was sitting at the bottom of the division. And now all of a sudden, you know, look where they are, but obviously it's still early in the season and I'm gonna say to Dennis schroder don't get too comfortable, right? Don't think that. Well, jaylen's going back. And you know what that means. Yeah. Wow. Especially when jaylen was back. So I'm just afraid he's going to say, oh, and so Jalen goes back, you know, yes and no, right? Especially because it seemed like Cleveland, you know, their backcourt is they don't have to really defend these guys. Just slow them down. But for the most part, I think there's a good chance we see the other shorter or just trying to help people out and try to a lot of the what we saw right before Jalen went down, you know? The only thing is that I just want to get that ball out of his hands a little sooner. That's my only thing. He's not always out there trying to get his, but he holds that ball for quite a while. It's kind of like 2012 rondo in a way. Good things would happen, but it was like, damn, ray John, are you going to hold the ball? No, man. Damn. The worst, the worst Schroeder is the one, that's what the number one comment we get in the chat is Schroeder just dribbles the ball for 18 seconds. That's the worst Schroeder. The one where he gets it and just goes a thousand miles an hour towards the he is just lightning fast. Aggressive Schroeder is great. It just puts such pressure on the defense. And it's just something that we haven't seen that nobody does that on this team. Nobody did it last year. Jalen does it in spurts, and when he does, it's great because he just goes by people and you're like, do that. He's on cruise control. And then he kind of disappears or goes in and out sometimes, but he has games when he's doing it and you're like, oh my God, do that all the time. Schroeder's the only guy does it at will. He's so freaking fast. And yeah, it can be sloppy. He threw a couple passes to nobody being out of control, going on. But as Jimmy said, everybody on this team is the something something experience and that is the Dennis schroder experience. Getting a 38 points, but you're going to get playmaking, you know? And he's going to make stuff happen. He's going to get aggressive, so. What do we get clear? We're going to get we're going to get an experience. What are those games, right? And could we get a knee Smith experience maybe? Probably not. My final point is, listen, when it comes to Dennis schroder, the haters are going to hate. Players are going to play. As long as Dennis rotor just keeps. He's just going to keep playing his game. And I'll leave you. Any win the Celtics get with jaylen Brown off the court is a good win. Who starts when Jalen's back? That's two. Who's the point guard when.

"The other guys, 20 what 5? So I don't know if you're right. 25-23 going on and off. It's just so typical of young talented players is that they begin their careers establishing themselves establishing. What's my game? How do I, how do I fit into the NBA off? You know, what can I do to impress people to show them who I am? Blah, blah blah, blah blah. Well. And the next stage is once you get comfortable in that is, how do I apply this to winning right off, and they're still young, and now it's 124. Turns twenty-five in October. So the time has come to for them to, they should be there now and he and he, this guy thinks that irritating wage is benefited from this Association of the team that that watching and listening to, to Garnett, you know, talk about skill sets, you know, blah blah, you know, and, and at the idea, the next stage retains to be more, not fewer. Facilitator, but a more, you know, you know, I'm aware of guy with it and you saw some nice passes, he made. Hi. You know he's got his ever bomb virus. Yeah, and and any Olympics and so he thinks he's going to benefit very much, Mr. Celtic man. Should be excited. Yeah, I mean again, I think unfortunately Tatum has been labelled a score and that's kind of what they needed from him. So much over the last few years and now. It's it's that ability to expand your game. Right? And he's shown it in spurts, but I think you're right. I mean, this Olympic experience, hopefully will will take him a little bit more and understand a little bit more and and maybe some of the criticism that came out of last year of them not winning will teach these guys a little bit more of you have, you know, what may be okay with where we're at individually. Right now, we've proven ourselves, we've still got more to go, but we've proven ourselves to, whereas now we gotta win, like, we gotta work together here and make each other better and wage. You know, to me if they do that, then there's team that a lot of people have written off for this season. You still might have. If you've got you in the top 20 players in the NBA off a chance. You should have a chance to go, you know to the Eastern Conference Finals, right? Like how many now Milwaukee's got three of the top probably 30 players off right now in the NBA, right? You would say between Yiannis Middleton and and holiday, right? So you're you're missing, you know, that's the one thing you're missing with a Celtics right now is you don't have a third guy off right now and and I don't I'm not ready to put Dennis schruder as a third guy. No, no, so we, we enter into dentist router and interesting offseason or interesting going back to the moment. Do you think people are going to making this a, you know, a match up either or right? It's going to be because it where people, but I mean, I'm just in my research for the draft, there were people that were touting green wage as much as or even more that said, well, we we might we might have people thought somebody could have been the number one. So, I mean, they're going to be paired up cuz I'm going to say, I mean the big thing with Jalen green table. Slayers people just didn't know anything about him, you know, hey, right. And the g league and frankly, anybody who goes to the G League, the office manager is clear for college, over the over the G League. It's it's branding, not part of the advantage. You can't counting ham on 15 times or promoting the money. SPN. We're tailing off and Jonathan. Comingo were Anonymous coming in to this, drop by fans, Not by NBA people, put my fans, every GM, new jail and green. And in fact, I talked to one GM, maybe a wage before the draft who was drafting in the, in the lottery. Not at one or two, and they said, listen, if it were me, I know this pressure to take Katie Cunningham because, you know, what, you're going to get with them but not jail. And greens, upside is so high and you watch him even in the summer league, Bob. He's so electric. Athletically, he and he's got that off. Confidence that Swagger. He shoots it, much better than anybody, figured. That's the biggest difference. And, and I think again his gear just that, that that extra gear that he has to be able to explode to the basket. I heard Mike Schmitz who I, I love, he's my favorite. If you're going to follow anybody with the draft follow ESPN's Mike Schmitz. She's dead bodies everywhere. And he had a comment that I kind of scoffed. But the more I think about it. He said like one day Jalen green could lead the league in scoring. So give me a reminds me of can you is there a comparison? Just you know, like I mean, he's got like he's a bigger Donovan Mitchell like, you know, he's just, you know, people want to compare me to Zach LaVine. I just don't put a lot of stock into what happens in the summer league. Bob, bottom line. You gotta be careful. It's it's almost textbook Fool's Gold sometimes. And there's so many different thoughts. It's an interesting. Tool nearly judge, but not the donkey cart away, you know, but the idea and sometimes, it's just beneficial to the young coach that they put in charge of taking misses as a young players as using that. You normally that's the norm, right? One of the assistants gets, gets the coach but now I I try not to get carried away. I go back God as far back as the early eighties phone. Dennis Schroder Signs $5.9 Mil. Deal With Celtics After Rejecting $84 Mil. From Lakers

"That they like our plan is to wait out the market versus. How much of it was like our plan is to not do anything. That is going to limit us and then we'll just sort of see how the the chips fall beneath It's it's worked out well and and either of those things are also completely reasonable ways to operate through you know, an offseason with the resources that they had. So I think that that's been been good management. The thing that I find a little bit interesting is that I don't actually know if this is a situation where there is a ton of opportunity for him like compared to others, you look at the team. We know that Satan is going to handle the ball a lot. We know that they've sort of said that smart is still going to be $1,000 and probably the starting point guard. Josh Richardson can handle the ball, pein Pritchards look, very good and in in the very limited summer league stuff, but we'll also look like an NBA player last year and he's sort of a point guard down and so I don't know how much of an opportunity there really is, for like Dennis Schroder to run the offense and and be the sort of focal point other than for, you know, pretty limited Benjamin Ryan. That's near is the Celtics for an opposition. You right now, he's already signed. I signed the deal. I'm getting the reports right after that I don't even remember from who so I'm apologize for earlier. It said sort of said like they haven't made them any promises and birth. Being a starter or anything like that and of course, if they're offering Marcus Smart Seventeen million a year and they're offering die shooter, six million a year, for one season, there's an obvious understanding there that like they believe that smart a better player and so you would understand that he would be ahead in the packet or so, actually, but you get the point that I'm getting like I don't know real opportunity to do sort of what he would have done in Oklahoma City, a couple of years ago where it's like wage, you're going to be playing some of the time with Chris, Paul and Shay, but you're also going to get these minutes where you can sort of, you know, do your own thing. And I don't know if those minutes will be all that, that prevalent here, even if there is a need for shock creation and and on. Like there's going to be times when he's on the floor with Jaylin and Nesmith and whoever in the front court and he and he is handling the ball and and playing as a, you know, a real point guard. I'm just saying that when the team is fully healthy, it's not like there's 25 minutes of game where they're going to hand the ball to the dentist router and say go run things, right? And I think that's interesting that even in that situation they were still able to get them for six million dollars just cuz there's nothing. Is out there for him and, you know, the music stopped. And there were, there was one share left and so you take it, right? Get your point right?.

"I don't know that Luol Deng gave up anything really in his buy out with the Lakers but it wasn't. It wasn't a bio, wasn't it a wave and stretch they waved them a stretch but I think they they were going to try to negotiate to buy out and he was just like no I'm not going to do that cuz he knew he wasn't going to get paid. Probably somewhere else which is why? Yeah, why wave and stretch happened. So I'm sure those numbers will come out eventually, but it's not, it's not it's a case-by-case basis. It changes depending on the player, Also we have more marks dying quotes about data router which branch piling this poor man. He said quote I don't know where he got the idea that he was going to get a hundred million dollars. When players do that, they generally have a feel of which team will actually do that. That's true. That's true. Players. Usually have heard through the grapevine. Like, hey, this team wants me and they're going to pay me this much. It appears that sure did not have that. Yeah, Dennis sugar, Spencer Dinwiddie, perfect example. He said, he said with magic foresight. I know three, four sixty is out there for me. Don't worry about that. What did not get 362? Like not surprising. He knew exactly what was out there on the market. I have Joe from YouTube with the Super Chat asking, where do we see the Lakers Landing seating wise? I'm going to say, third, just two bacon. That they're going to rest them guys. What do you think, Ron Yeah I mean I think they'll have home-court advantage in the first round for sure. I don't know if they'll be a one I just don't think that's important to a team like this. But how much do you really think LeBron? James Russell Westbrook Carmelo, Anthony. Trevor Ariza like how much do you think they're fighting for a 1 seed they're just fighting to get to the playoffs, right? So I I would assume like three four makes probably not for cuz they probably want to avoid whoever's one. But I would imagine he makes a lot of sense. Let's I agree with that. Let's when obviously I do cuz that's lines up with my with my pick. Oh, here's an interesting thing. Brenda Willis, do you think won't try to sell schruder? Because he knew teams were not interested. Like maybe he was doing a favor to an agent. Like we have seen more of that from loads this year than I think we have in years past where he's, you know, like he mentions Duncan Robinson's podcast and stuff like that song. Had been hyping up some stuff for people. I do Wonder because Woods was very high on like, like Dennis Schroder knew he was getting more than four years, eighty four million and that's why Did he well then where where's that deal? What happened? Right. So that might have been a favor right to somebody. I mean you see it on every month or Shams tweet announcing a player's deal, it's the deal and then there's like one or two sentences hyping up the player. It's like this play player X wage incredible from Beyond The Arc. And as a defensive stopper, this past season, and it's like, well, you already signed the contract, you don't have to keep doing this like,.

"Say money. This is what I said we were talking about this earlier Trevor. I said that if the Knicks had given Dennis Schroder the, the same exact deal they gave Evan Fournier. Yeah, forty years 70,000, I would have said, you know what? That was a worthwhile gamble. You, you, you lost six million but that was a worthwhile gamble. Well, the Nix decided Evan Fournier is better suited for that money and bought a. I honestly, I don't know that Evan Fournier is a better basketball player than Dennis Schroder. I, I really think Dennis orders better. I just if he had gotten for 478, I would have said that was a worthwhile risk to take going for that hundred but morning and just blew up on Team USA, they'll tear. So I think that, that might have been part of it. Like, hey, this guy just just did something fee before nije. Yep. Yep. Hey, Patty. Mills will be a Max guy. By the way, Team USA is playing. And what about half an hour? Now, Alexander playing Australia, Alexander Camacho from YouTube. The Super Chat is a realistic to Thursday. Sign-and-trade for Eric Gordon for shorter. I think that would be perfect for this team. Yes, in terms of like what's that say? What you're going to say? I'm going to life. Recordings contract. Just yeah, please do. But I'm going to say yes in that I don't think the Rockets would care about parting with Eric Gordon but I'm going to say no and that I don't think the Rockets would care about getting Dennis. Sure. Like what is why would they want him? I don't I don't see that they're already paying John Wall, a ton of money to be their point guard. I don't think they want to go pay money to Dennis Schroder to be. Also bought a pointer. Oh my God. Yeah. So so they actually the money isn't as bad as I thought he has two more. Guaranteed years left at 37 million total So it's 18.2 this year and 19.5 next year and then a non-guaranteed 20.9, the year after that. So that would not be picked up obviously else would I do that. Sure. But it kind of leads me back to the same thing of like what is Eric Gordon's place on this roster. I mean he's supplants probably Wayne Ellington a probably Malik monk in the rotation, but I don't think he's the plants THD and I don't think he's the plans. Kent Bazemore. Yeah, if I'm doing a sign-and-trade on the Lakers, I'm looking for a wing. Yeah I'm looking of wing player. Anyone Andrew is Camille from from YouTube said way too early prediction for the first wave of buyouts midseason, midst of free agency isn't even over and we're talking mid-season break don't I don't?.

Mason & Ireland
"schroder" Discussed on Mason & Ireland
"What is your most irrational fear. That's also coming up mason ireland seventeen. Espn i'd so we've talked a lot about this. I've heard from people who say you've got to explain it a little bit more deeply so there is there are substances now. That major league baseball pitchers are using. That are sticky that are tacky that feel really like glue almost That they're using to increase the spin rate of their pitches so in revolutions per minute the spin rate has gone up and that is being traced to illegal goop being used by pitchers. Now michael wilpon our friend from From pardon the interruption was on yesterday. Listen to what he said about the goop and the baseball's damn coal spin righties rate. Is i don't care you know. I don't care about whether people spins i. I lived in era. I played little league baseball a try to get people to teach me how to put stuff on the baseball. How to carver did all that stuff. Little league high school. Yes i did it. And i think a lotta pictures did it. And i don't think that coal should be somehow singled out and he. Oh he the guy hundreds of pictures of done this one hundred and forty year history of major league baseball and so i find it a little disingenuous that anyone should take the. I'm hoping he gets away with it. Major league baseball has gotten so pious so high and mighty. I loathe this. They know what's happened in that sport. Fourth century plus live with and like the to one games better than i like to ten eight games anyway so now i hope everybody. That's a weird take. Well i think what it's based in is it's been going on for really long time and they've never done anything to stop it. It's funny it's like sign stealing it. It's gone too far right. And so now they've got to get a handle on it and so from this point forward i think they're going to disallow it. Start cracking down. I think it's next week. Wow i wonder if it'll affect trevor. Bauer start on saturday. I've heard interview with jeff passan. And he says that that baseball he said if you talked to any baseball person. Yup that works for a team that covers the sport. They'll tell you that the game is broken that you you tend to defend baseball all the time. And he said even the people that work for teams now won't defend it. He said there are more strikeouts than anything else. There's no in the games. The game baseball is broken. It is bad product right now. It is not. I don't disagree with that. I mean a lot about what needs to be fixed. And what was the thing that i said two weeks ago. I said one thing they need to do is crack down on pitchers using illegal substances. That's one of the reasons why ofensive production is so low right now. We want more action. It can't be a zero sum game strikeout or or homerun. It can't be like that anymore. They've gotta move runners along. They've got a string together. Hits and one way to do that is to crack down on. What pitchers are using pitchers. Have too much of an advantage right now in the same way that hitters had too much of an advantage during the steroid era and so what what. Michael wilpon is no. Yeah they've done it for a long time all that stuff but it's tilted the wrong direction. It's now tilted more towards pitchers than it is towards hitters. that's why is hidden to forty or viewed as successful right now right. I would challenge wilpon if he were here. Say this might secure solution to fixing baseball's problems to do nothing. Just let everybody keep doing what they're doing you can't that's the worst possible thing they could do is nothing. The game is broken there. What did i read that stat. That theo epstein came up with the other date that the average time between hits is like four minutes forty six minutes that there's no player movement. Nobody wants to see strikeout. Strikeout strikeout strikeout strikeouts. It's not it's not fun to sit there and watch that so they've got to put action back in the game. I don't blame him for what they're doing. I know some pictures are gonna get embarrassed but let's go. Let's get this stuff out of the game. Give the hitter's a chance and go from there. Let's should the deterrent being other words. What should the penalty be if somebody gets caught. I think the for immediate ejection. Yup and then. I think a ten game suspension ten games so ms start pitcher mischief starts right if if you do it again. If they're second time offender you get twenty five and if you do it a third time you're out for the wow that's like a steroid. Crackdown fifty one hundred banned for life. This is this would be ten twenty five out for the year. By the way last night somebody points out amazon spider tack. They do sell spider spider tax. So doesn't need to come from some special supplier. You can just order spider. I don't know how far down the rabbit hole. You want to go here. But there was an angels clubhouse guy. Yeah they used to concoct us kind of like a part time chemist made his own junk you made his own goop and he would make it for pitchers around the league and they would reach out to him and say hey. Can you make me more goop. When they'd come through anaheim he'd give him a bottle of it or a bag of it or hover you. Hi how's it. And he was fired by the angels for doing this yet. Every team was asking this guy for stuff and after he got fired they were still asking. Oh yeah and by the way that's where the garrett cole thing comes from he was one of the guys that was getting stuff from the angels clubhouse guy so justin burland they were getting stuff from the angels clubhouse guy who is inventing this magic sticky goop that was being used on baseball's with great success in trevor. Bauer originally came out and said hey. It's really weird. That people go to the astros and all of a sudden their spin rate goes way up and as it turns out they had the proprietary goop. It may be now that the dodgers have caught up. But the everybody's doing it argument unlike what. My mom used to tell me all the time. The everybody's doing it argument is actually a good one if they're not cracking down then they're continuing this problem and you're right john the game. I won't say it's broken. I still watch an awful lot of baseball. But i'm a baseball fan. But it is less appealing to casual fans than for example. The nba is too casual fans and the nfl is too casual fans. Baseball fans are always going to be baseball fans. I'm one of those but but people like you. Who are more. Your it's weird. I'm with the lakers. The way you're with the dodgers ran. I always stop and watch dodger game but outside of a dodger game. I'm not watching a lot of baseball right. And i will always watch baseball. I've no issue with it but don't always watch the nba. Now that the lakers are out of it. I'm more of a lakers fan than i am an nba fan. I'm as much a baseball fan. As i am a dodger fan so baseball rides all the time here on. Mlb league pass. So i've always got games on but it depends on who you are but if you want to attract casual fans and let's face it that's the most important thing is to get fans who don't always pay attention. How do you grab their attention. How do you sell the sport. what are you selling. If there's a problem with the product and there is right now it's harder to sell it. It's much harder to get just a casual fan to turn on a game. If it's just strikeout strikeout. Strikeout homerun strikeout strikeout strikeout..

"They don't win, then they are in the play in tournament and they don't want to be there. And especially now that the Clippers most likely are cleared out of that three seed. Now, I will say if Portland plays hard and beats the nuggets and the Clippers that beat their report I want to say it's okay, see tomorrow night, then I would invert things and then that would push the Clippers back to 3. So that's where it gets a little bit complicated. If you're Portland, I saw a lot of people on the Portland, side on the Portland, side of things from Portland media wage saying, Don't win before the Clippers. Lost to the Rockets saying Portland Trail Blazers tank. Your game do not win against the Denver Nuggets. We want to be 7 cuz we don't want to see phone numbers because the Clippers will be the 3 seed. So that makes it a little bit interesting. If you're Portland in that if you decide to go for the win and the Clippers win money and they're playing at the same time as well. They beat OKC. Then your ceiling your fate into a first-round match up with the Clippers. Again the Lakers can't be in that position because Denver would have to lose, get them. It gets very complicated, very quickly, doesn't I hope I'm explaining this so that everybody can understand what what's going on there. But in any event it's going to be fascinating to see how this all plays out do the Nuggets. Play all their guys, do the Lakers play all of their guys. I think they're going to take a wait-and-see approach and see how the brawn and everybody else is feeling after today's game. I think that they can use as my age. Time out on the court together as possible. Like I said, this is seriously the second game that they're starting. Five has played together this season their second game in a 78. What's 72 Game season? They've.

"Turnovers, not bad, not bad for LeBron. Somebody said she doesn't look good. You know what LeBron he looked like he was kind of taking it easy out there. He looked like pre-season LeBron which how ridiculous is that LeBron? Puts up twenty-four seven and eight on 50%, shooting for the field and we're saying he didn't look good. That he looked a little bit a little bit off. LeBron looked a little bit more Rusty than Anthony Davis, which makes sense. Anthony Davis, has played a lot more recently than than LeBron has. So I think that makes a lot of sense off on those still showed flashes and we saw why he is such a major major difference maker out there on the floor. I was excited just to have them out there. I'll say they also had moments where you can tell that the starting wage had only played one game. One game together before this before this today, and there were some moments where they looked confused where they looked out of sync. And again, that's to be expected. And the hope for the Lakers game that they can knock off as much of the rust as possible before that happens. Questions and comments guys, coming in, I am going to be reading these as we go. I've got someone named demon child and a Halloween name there from you. She said I want the Clippers. Well, you can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes just might find you get what you need. Look it up. Look, the Clippers, it's not going to happen. Now, it is impossible for the Lakers to play the Clippers, in the first round, will not happen because the Clippers put on that epic tank job, run government and I broke this whole thing down last night, you guys can check that out on the Lakers Nation, YouTube channel, but the bottom line is because the Clippers tanked that game like crazy last night two degrees off that we haven't seen it in a while. In terms of taking, wow, that that was an epic tank job by the Clippers, they wanted. No part of seeing the Lakers in round one and they guaranteed that they will not pass by dropping that game that I didn't think they'd be able to lose. I didn't think they would be able to lose to the Rockets. They found a way and they got that done. And so the Lakers are now not going to see the clippers off and round one. So that's where we're at Niko Ortiz? De Vera said, we'll Denver lose the game intentionally. Yes. So long Thursday, the other piece to this, the Denver Nuggets were pushed up to the 3 seed by the Clippers losing, which is not where they ideally want to be. I'm sure they would rather be in the 4 spot, but here's the thing, if the Denver Nuggets win tomorrow, no matter what the Clippers do in their game, if the Denver Nuggets beat the Blazers tomorrow, they will be the three six and most likely play the Lakers. That's what would be happening. So, the Lakers if they lose tomorrow, they're the seventh seed, that's it. If the Lakers win back the Nuggets win, then the Lakers.

You guys probably took me enough anyway but let's go. We're going to do. Yes, somebody just commented podcast live. That's right we're still going to get to talk about Lakers basketball. That's the important thing here. So the Lakers do get the win over the Indiana Pacers they get the win, 1:22 to 1:15, love that because it sets up a massive, massive day tomorrow. Guys, I cannot tell you how excited I am for tomorrow. It is going to be Madness, there are so many different playoff races in the NBA that are undecided. At this point, including the one that that the Lakers are in. We're going to be doing a lot of scoreboard watching. As we're checking out the Lakers take, on the New Orleans Pelicans which should be an exciting game in its own, right? But for today's game Beyond just thought that they got the win and what that means for the playoff race. The other important part of this was Anthony, Davis. LeBron James, Dennis Schroder all came back and that's phenomenal. It's so important that these guys get back on the 8th floor, with a little bit of time in order to get this done in order to to get some Rhythm so they can be ready to go for the playoffs and life. When we talked about these guys, I thought for the most part they looked pretty good, A little bit of rust. I thought Dennis Schroder through a decent part of the game looked more Rusty than LeBron Jersey. A d. That's that's what I saw. I saw Dennis Schroder. In fact, I was commenting a little bit with the guys from Lakers nation. And I said, Dennis Schroder looks, kind of, like eighty percent of what you normally would be and run government. Thought you said, he said he is probably being a little bit optimistic. He looks more like 60%. And you know what? I thought he turned it on a little bit at the end a little bit. The answer to Thursday. We got going 349 shooting fourteen points tonight for assists one board. Remember he was out due to Covent protocols out with that 10 to 14 day, period was what he fell under. So we can make assumptions with that in terms of what exactly was going on. But again, nothing official, but he did. Look at look at a step, slow out there. I thought I thought that he looked a bit Rusty, looked a bit slow. Hopefully, that's something where it just takes them. A little bit of time to get his legs, back under him, and get going again, Anthony Davis on the other hand, looked phenomenal, particularly physically, not first, half a d was going off. Jerk nine of ten from the free throw line, getting to the line at. Well, nine of 18 shooting ten boards, five assists, two steals, 28 points for Anthony Davis. Love that. He really got to go and and then you had LeBron James, 11422 shooting. How's that for efficiency? Both LeBron and they do shoot 50% from the field. LeBron had had 24 points, one of four from Deep. One of those that deep 3 though was late in the game to help seal the win 7 boards, eight.

Lakers Defeat Cavs As Buyout Market Heats Up
"Got a win and it was a good win. It was just a solid win where they got it done with defense 102 eighty-six. They get the double years old friend Larry Nance Jr. For the Cavs. My goodness, 17 points ten boards five assists nice outing for him. Great to see great dude, Larry Nance Jr. But it was the Lakers who really stole the show in the second half Murphy Flores coming up big for the Lakers 13 points. Don't normally see him in double-digits five boards plus a block three of seven from Deep kuzma only four points, but eight boards and seven assists again finding ways to log in even when he's not scoring so you gotta like that they're from him but 17 points from Dennis Schroder probably the story of the game four steals seven. It says five boards for of 10 shooting out for of Sorry 7 or 12 shooting my screen skipped a bit. They're seven of twelve shooting one of two from the three-point line two of two from the free throw line for steals seven turn off, but he had the ball in his hands pretty much the entire game whenever he was on the floor. He had the ball. So I guess we'll forgive him from that. But is he going to get paid? We need to talk a little bit about that cuz I'm getting a bit nervous about the job situation. And then of course Montrezl Harrell, ho-hum. Just doing Montrezl Harrell. Thanks 24 and 10. Come on mantras ten or fifteen shooting. Imagine. If you shot better than fifty percent from 3/4 of a table. I'm sorry from the free throw line for of eight from the free throw line tonight. That's not going to get it done. But seven offensive boards 10 boards and seven of them are on the offensive end just more amazing stuff from my name is Harold gotta love that.

Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat Remain Engaged In Kyle Lowry Talks
"Today's trade deadline. Now do seven hours away outs. Lawn of the name watching closely. We're watching closely as kyle lowry. Look so listen won't is reporting that the lakers are actually asleep routine to get him in the east to get him out there with the lakers in the east though it appears it's the sixers and maybe the miami heat in that mix. So here's kyle lowry on. What likely was his last game with toronto last night it was kind of weird tonight and not knowing what the next step would be just with. You know understanding that there's things that could possibly be done On the front of me and then other guys in our team and normalization. So it's kind of weird. I'll be honest with you but you know it was. It was great to get a win. it was great. It felt good to be out there. And you know i. It would have been of course. Of course it would have been crazy or if it was in toronto. I'm assuming i i would. I would think but It was it was different tonight for sure. I mean who knows what's going to happen like i'm not knows what's going to happen but it's definitely for sure different. All right we got crisper sar joining us now for sorry good morning which contender would benefit most from adding kyle lowry. You said the three philadelphia. Miami and the lakers less. Toss out miami. Because with or without kyle lowry. They're not winning the east much less the nba finals. They're just they would improve. No doubt were not enough. They wouldn't be good enough all right. So i'm tossing him out. I'll go to the west. The lakers this would be huge because in addition to bringing a championship pedigree more leadership. Defense toughness kyle lowry. Bring three point shooting. And they're lacking in that their twenty second in the league in three point percentage twenty-fifth if three point tips. He's any thirty nine percent or seven threes a game in toronto this year. Dennis schroder playing well but only hitting thirty two percent of his three point attempts so lowery would really feel a need for the lakers.

James had a bit off of an off night and we have to remember of course Dennis Shooters still out and not going to miss two more games. They are really struggling to get offense going without him. And of course Anthony Davis out as well and he'll be out for at least the next four weeks or so, which will take him out all the way through a little bit past the old star breaks up the Lakers clearly struggling clearly undermanned and we got a lot to talk about because there's some rumors popping up about what the Lakers might do about it and some people that they dead Try to bring in so a lot to break down joining me tonight. It's a big deal to not have him out there because of what he brings in terms of the skill set his ability to get into the paint his ability to run the offense. You can just see it when LeBron is not on the floor. I mean, you're you're you're hanging on the edge of the cliff and you're just praying that your drink it doesn't give out and you just tumble over the edge. That's what they're doing right now when LeBron's not on the floor, it's like it's like Frank Vogel is just constantly watching the clock one. Can I put it back in yet? Can I put them back in yet? Because any minute that LeBron is not on the floor the Lakers offense looks dead. Lately lost because they don't have anybody that can really be a threat off the dribble. They can get into the paint and do anything from there. And and so it's a bit of a mess. They're just trying to hold on for dear life reminds me a little of the Lakers bench Squad last year except right now. You don't have Anthony Davis to help claw you back into games either. So it's that's certainly a challenge and Dennis Schroder is going to miss two thousand more games. No, he did test negative for covid-19 will do to contact tracing he is out for two more games. So this is going to be a couple more games where the Lakers have to grind it out without some really key pieces here.

Los Angeles Lakers go in short-handed and fall to the Brooklyn Nets
"Lakers dropped the game to the Nets got blown out was not pretty wind up losing this one. It was 109 2098. Ouch out not good. We're going to break down exactly what happened and put a little bit of context into it. What does this mean for the Lakers moving forward now that you've lost this was a game that a lot of people look forward to a lot of people had this game marked on their calendars did the Lakers maybe not and there's a lot of different things for us to to get into here the team didn't play. Well, there's no question and we'll talk a little bit about that. But I think where we need to start is that the Lakers were down two starters and yes, it's fair to mention that the Nets were also Down Kevin Durant. That's a giant loss. The Lakers were down Anthony Davis age. A giant loss. They were also down Dennis Schroder and I thought that was a bigger loss than he would be on most nights because the Nets defense is so poor. I think schruder would have had a very good game tonight. Just living in the paint getting to the rim creating Havoc. He would have made a difference out there for the Lakers certainly, but unfortunately was not able to go do to contact tracing with all the cobit stuff going on. So, you know, that was that was definitely unfortunate. We certainly didn't get the kind of finals preview matchup that people have been thinking we would get from this game because you're missing those star players. I don't think we got a very good representation of who the Lakers are as a team. I also don't think we got a great representation of who the Nets are because they're so different with Kevin Durant, but we did find out that the Nets love to shoot lots and lots of threes and make a lot of them tonight. Let's finish the game shooting just 46% from 3, but that doesn't tell the whole story. They were 50% or better for almost the entire game. It was until the end that they dropped off doing a great job generating open Thurs. And the Lakers Defenders were struggling to get out there and get a hand up and they were knocking them down. Joe Harris ridiculous 647 from 3 for 21 points. I said, this is a pregame video game. But one thing that they couldn't do was allow another guy to get going if Kyrie gets his points if James Harden gets his points you're going to live with that you're going to try to make life as difficult as you can on them, but you can't allow another guide to get going in and this game Joe Harris certainly did again dropping 21 points and then you gave up 15 to Timothy Loma Carrboro 2015 points to TLC not great. They're from the Lakers side of things LeBron. James had to pretty much do everything 32.8 board 7 assists 33 minutes glad that he only played 33 minutes. No reason for you to burn him out in this game when it was clearly won. The Nets were going to win especially once they got into the second half LeBron 146 from three three of six from the line, okay? One of the only other guys in double-figures was sixteen and ten. So we got a double-double Montrezl Harrell with ten points. Nobody else really did a whole lot out there. Nobody else did did much on the offensive end. You had nine points from k c p but just 145 from 3 West Matthews who started and played some shooter 144 shooting o of two from deep in 24 minutes Mark assault eight points did shoot for 3:00. So I'd like to see them in four to five threes a night did shoot for hit two of them. So you'll take that but the Lakers on the night shooting just 27% from 3 that slide from behind the three-point line at one point. They were third in the NBA in 3-point percentage and they have dropped dramatically since then and in fact last game they were up just about forty percent from three against the wolves and that was the first game in a while they'd been even better than league-average from deep and that's usually about thirty-five thirty-six percent tonight shooting just 27% That's with me rounding up. That's not good enough that will not get it done 6 a.m. Turnovers on the night as well. That's not a good sign either pretty much everywhere things could have gone wrong for the Lakers. They they really did ten offensive rebounds compared to 8 to the Brooklyn Nets. The brake pads are terrible rebounding team. That was a place where the Lakers needed to dominate 24 free throw attempts for the Nets compared to just 14 for the Lakers each and every spot along the way where the lake she really needed to win that particular area free throw attempts 3-point percentage turnovers, the Nets came out on top and because of that they won the game and wanted thousand Ali so I wouldn't be taking your questions and comments, but I guess before we get into everything. How much do we really take away from this knowing? There's no Anthony Davis knowing there's no Dennis Schroder knowing that the Lakers how many times tonight did we see the Lakers throw out lineups that we've never seen before with five men groups that literally have not played a single minute together yet. Not played a minute. That matters and I know we get some people who say it always but you can't make excuses. You can't you know, you have to go out there and win every single game. I'm just telling you what happened in the game. We saw the Lakers defense breakdown thought that was the Nets offense was really good part of that was the Lakers energy wasn't there part of that was also that they were playing an unfamiliar groupings and defense being something where everybody has to be on the same page. You get defensive breakdowns like this when you throw a line up together add necessity, I don't blame Frank Vogel here. You have no shooter. No Anthony Davis your entire rotation changes and you're winding up throwing out these kind of bizarre lineups out on the court and that's going to create defense of break that breakdowns. It's going to lead to open looks because you guys aren't used to knowing exactly where they're going to switch off their defense of responsibilities are it's a tough situation to be in and so I don't want to make excuses for the Lakers energy. I think they should have played with more energy with more Pace should

A tonight for their first meeting of the year with the defending champion. Lakers head coach Michael Alone thinks this year's Lakers team is even better than the one that knocked about the playoffs last year. In the bubble, we lost 4 to 1 in the Western Conference finals. I felt a couple breaks here and there. That's Erie's easy have gone to 67 games, but they went on a woman and with LeBron and 80 kind of shouldering the heavy load of that team. So I look at it. It's pretty much the same group and then they went out and added with you obviously mantra as Dennis Schroder and Marcus Soul. Three terrific players that I think Even make them more dangerous this season and there were less nuggets at the Lakers tonight.
