"Ron to be out there live and the Senate still slogging through that covert reveal relief bill that we talked about last weekend last Sunday. The number four fighting a lion, I They'll be here in town, taking on the number seven Buckeyes. That game is gonna be at the Schottenstein Center at four o'clock. Then the blue jackets. They travel to Dallas later on tonight, or they actually have traveled there now, But they're gonna take on the Dallas Stars. Puck drop at 8 P.m.. All right, let's get to it. Saturday morning Open voted your calls. It's all about what you want to talk about. An 8 to 1 W T v N or 1 816 w tvn jump right in and Nick. Good morning. Urine 16. W T V n Good morning, Bob. Thanks for taking the call. You know last Saturday you were talking about. You know why they put so many items on a bill showing me one item on the bill and I want to address that there yourself. You're right Education only be one item on a bill and then that's how it should be, but that, but it's not. Witnessed firsthand in our state legislature. The Ohio House was voting on giving the president at the time it was Clinton says 20. Plus years ago, they were gonna give Clinton line item veto on a bill Now the vote was taken place in one of the committee hearing rooms in the State House. I don't remember which committee it was, but But the committee was taking comments or testimonies. If you will, from those who wanted to express their opinions now, when it was my turn. I urge them to vote No on the line item veto because it gives the president legislative authority and power and that's not. He's not supposed to have that That's unconstitutional. There should be only one item for Bill and then I said If you say Well, there are so many bills that they have to put several items of bill to that I I said 90 95% of the bills are unconstitutional, and if they eliminated those, it would be really easy to put in one item on a bill. And when it was time for the vote, they all every one of them voted for the line item veto, even though it was unconstitutional. Now I just shows what they think of our Constitution as their instruction manual. How's it unconstitutional? I'm curious about that. Well, the president's not supposed to have right now. Yeah, Legislative authority. That's why we have this set different different branches of the government as legislative supposed to make laws. President can't be making Lawson but you're doing the line item veto. He's essentially doing that because he puts the ones he wants him and that's it. That's wrong, because we did. The Congress is supposed to do that, but they're also supposed to follow the Constitution. And do you, uh, What it says to do on when somebody's unconstitutional. It shouldn't even be brought up on account. That was a line item veto any different than a regular veto. Well, because different items on there so the president can say OK, I'll okay, this one, but I won't okay, that one All OK, this one, but I won't okay, that that's that's what it does, And that's that's wrong. It's not something he shouldn't have that power to do that Congress has that power or state Legislature, You know, they have that car. Not the president of governor, the governor, but but you know that they they all did because 92 95% of the studio that the budget that that it's all unconstitutional and they don't they don't care. They just they just take, uh they just take what they wanted. They just throw in our face. We're gonna do what we want and and And it just shows the locality where the people who state Legislature in Congress and I guess I know why they don't call the Constitution is because the Constitution is for people who know how to think. And people in government don't know how to think They only know what to think. What Israel tells him now. Our founding fathers knew that the Bible was the authority for government. And in that hand the Bible second Samuel 23 3. It says he that rules over men must be just ruling. In the fear of God. Those people don't have fear of God. They do what they want to do. But anyway, that's what I got, Bob. Thanks. All right. Appreciate it, Nick. Thanks for the call 8 to 1 W TV and 106 10 W TV. "For those 80 and older You are seeing big venues like Ohio State's Schottenstein Center, for example, transforming into this massive covert 19 vaccination side. Meanwhile, for the first time in at least three weeks, the number of new daily coronavirus cases in Ohio drop below the 5000 mark. Oh, and by the way, No one over the weekend, winning those big jackpots for the mega millions and the Powerball. So the mega millions jackpot Tonight 850 million with the cash value of $628 million. Jim Ryan from ABC is joining us right now, Jim, What are you playing the lottery? By the way, Did you buy a ticket? Ah, yes. Yeah, New York is collecting all the money. All of the whole news operation has cooled. It's money, at least on the radio side, and, uh So we'll see what happens. Normally, I don't but you know you get involved with your offense and you try to participate Be a team player. And so that's what I'm doing. Yeah, well, good for you. Good luck. By the way. I do not buy those lottery tickets. Chip Reid for babies. He is with us. This morning, I news ready or 6 10 W. T. V and Jim, You've been working on the story of how Cove it has prompted people and push them from one area of the country and they're flocking for jobs and another part of the country. Exactly And this little reflected, you know you don't help Brandon win. The CDC wants to look a flu numbers every year. They want to see where the trends or where people are catching it and where maybe there isn't such an outbreak. Well, they look at the sales of things like thermometers and to see the benefit and the drug stores out there and they put together a big map based on that's pretty accurate. Well, This is kind of the same sort of thing. You hall, which rents obviously trucks and trailers for people to move one way rentals generally. Looks at its numbers every year to see where trucks and trailers were being rented and where they're being checked back in. Azan indicator of migration trends would see where people are going and where they're going away from Tennessee is the top spot your according to U Haul up from number 12 last year. You will be, I think, presumably because of more cost of living. Housing prices are pretty reasonable. Second place was Texas and third places Florida fourth place. Hi. Oh, yeah, It was Number seven now. Europe, but number four there. I doesn't surprise me. You're based on a Texas right? Dallas. Is that right? So I've been hearing a lot about Texas. Two people flocking to Texas because of this. Yes, right And generally texted is either number one or number two. That's why the population is growing toe 30 million within just the last two years, And this year it is again number two guy. Think Brandon that this year the numbers might need an asterisk behind them. And maybe they're not such a great indicator of why people are moving in or moving for work. It could be that they're moving to these places just because they like living there. Because you know a zoo. You know, people losing their jobs might find another job. And if they're working off site there telecommuting. They don't have to live in the place where they're working anymore. So it could be the people simply want to move to Tennessee because of the lower cost of living of scenery for for whatever reason. Even if they work a job in New York or in Florida. Wow. Interesting. ABC is Jim Ryan. Thank you so much for that enlightening story this morning doesn't surprise me is but Tennessee, though number one. I was a bit surprised by that. But Texas and Ohio I kind of figured that would be in the top three or four. So, Jim, thank you. He's already going. Okay. Clinton, Hillary Clinton. Did you know she had a podcast? Yes, she is suggesting now that Russian leader Putin may have known about the riot in the capital. So she did. This podcast spoke with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in our podcast about the riot at the capital earlier this month, and she hinted that Russian President Vladimir Putin May have been receiving updates from the chaos from President Trump, Check it out love to see his phone records to see whether he was talking to Putin the day that the insurgents invaded our capital. But we now know that not just him, but his enablers his accomplices. His cult members have the same disregard for democracy. Do you think we need a 9 11 type Commission to investigate and report everything that they could pull together and explain what happened. Do let me again to your point of Who was he? Behold into it. As I've said, over and over, as I said to him in that picture with my blue suit right as I was leaving, But I'm saying the missile was pointing Rudely at him. With you, Mr President. All roads lead to Putin. I don't know what Putin has on him politically, financially or personally. Like what happened last week was a gift to Putin because that's who wants to undermine democracy in our country and throughout the world and these people under unbeknownst to them, maybe our Putin puppets they were doing Putin's business when they did that at the incitement. Of an insurrection by the president of the United States. So, yes, we should have a 9 11 commission, and there's strong support in the congress to do that. Hmm. Look, I wouldn't be surprised one bid. I mean, if your China or Russia, you're going to do anything you can to infiltrate and try to get all the information is possible. I could little bit of a stretch. I think with what Clinton had to Sander Bod Guest? Yeah, especially when Pelosi says, I don't know what he has on Trump would Putin has on him? Why? Why'd stretch it? Final last full day in office for President Trump Today it wasn't seeing are heard from yesterday. But first lady Melania Trump tweeted out nearly seven minute long farewell video looking back on her time in the White House, and we'll get some of that audio for you. Coming up after our conversation with the governor Because today's a big day it's phase one b of Ohio's Corona virus vaccination program. It begins today You're gonna have facilities like Ohio State Schottenstein Center, transforming to do up massive covert 19 vaccination site, but catching up with governor to wind. We caught up and asked him about a ton of different things. One that included the vaccinations itself, and one of the things that we were hearing about a lot is this vaccination shortage and we asked him where we're at on that? Well, it's a real shortage and we frankly or a real looking at these when we're able to move to these different ages, so we don't have anything to announce yet, but Just to give you Brandon idea. The good news is this week we start 80 and over. There's about 425,000 Ohioans, who were 18 over who do not live in nursing homes. That gives you the kind of the universe and why don't we start with 18 order is where was you know the old yard? Highest mortality. Once you're over 80, the mortality rate is exceedingly exceedingly high. We start with that group. But next week we only have about 100,000 vaccines for that 425,000 people who are just in the 80 and over and then when you drop it to 75 79 65. The time you get to 65. You've got about two million people or 65 older. So at the rate we're getting this vaccine. You know, it's gonna be a long, long time even before we get You know, people 65 older. That's what I said. That's two million people, and it's gonna take a long time to achieve that. So ages is clearly The biggest indicator of death. 87% of the people who have died in Ohio have been 65 years and older if you go down to 50 and older You're covering, Probably 97% or something like that. So age is the best indicator of of needs to be protected. Um, there's you know, and so that's what we're working on now, but we're I just want to make sure people understand. We're putting out every every dose that we have as quick as we And I just was on the phone with our leading hospitals and later on. We'll talk to all the hospital CEOs today and you know they would love to be vaccinated. More people are pharmacies would love to be vaccinated. More people are primary care physicians or health departments. Have about 700 places this week where people can get the vaccine. But those slots filled up. You know, just exceedingly fast in some cases, and in a matter of hours, people had reserved those Those positions, So it's a scarcity problem, and we just don't have enough. We hope And in the weeks ahead. Those numbers that we're getting in will go up. We would hope that sometime in March will get a third vaccine coming online. Johnson Johnson Way hope and that's that. That's only one shot. So you know the Madonna and Fizer that we have now available. It takes two shots. So if you you know, that obviously means that You know, everybody ends up getting two shots. And if you if Johnson Johnson comes online, that's only one shot and they're so you know that doubles, Uh, you know, with the amount of that they'll be sending out so so that's exciting, and we're looking forward to that. That's definitely efficient. I'm excited about the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Governor If you wouldn't mind pulling back the curtain a sec. Let's rewind bite and president elect Biden had said that he wants the rest of the stockpile vaccines to be sent out. And that could be maybe day one he thought going into office within President Trump last week said already done it, where we're sending all the stockpiles out. But then it was reported outlets like The Washington Post that there is no more stockpile. It's it's gone. It was already sent out. You've been in talks with the Biden administration about fast tracking more doses. What's been said so far about this, Aziz. You have just described. That was a roller coaster week for us. Sure, we thought Oh, okay, there are send these these these these out. And Look way worked with the Trump Administration will now working with them, but also with already started working with the incoming Biden administration and had calls Look, we're gonna have a good working relationship with them. But there's no there's no magic stockpile. It looks like that that is there what we do hope and what they believe. You know is that we're not going to go down any week. We're going to continue to have the same every week and that at some point it's going to start edging up. And then we hope it edges up even even more so. You know, we're optimistic. But for our listeners has got to be frustrating. You know if you're out there and you're over 80, and you tried to sign up for this week, and you didn't get signed up, I would just urge you tow. No one opens up again for the next week. It get back in there and try to get signed up, But it's really frustrating for you. And I can tell you is very, very frustrating for May. There's nothing I would like more than to be able to push out millions of doses of this vaccine, and they only have 100,000. You know that for our people eight years of age and older this week is just frustrating. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is with us this morning. I do is ready to 16 W. T V and governor if you're a snowbird, and we know there's plenty of snowbirds in Ohio that go to Florida, for example. You could, in essence, get the vaccine there, right? Well, they are and I've gotta last You know we were that's best. That's great. If you could do it, I did see some news stories where we have some Floridians. You know who lives down there 12 months a year were pretty upset because Ohioans and others or write you? No, but that's Florida's decision, how they how they do it. And, you know, we certainly do see Oh highlands who are getting vaccinated down there. Good to know. Governor DeWine eyes, a political geek and one that knows your background. Well, studying you. You come from a long line of Family businesses. I don't have to be the first to tell you how badly our small businesses are hurting at this point for multiple different things, but this curfew that continues Any idea when this could be lifted? Well, here's Yeah. Look, here's here's our what happened? Um, we were being urged by a number of people We had. Actually, people trump White House doctors who came in and told us you know, you need to close the restaurants and bars on, but we did not do that week we compromised and putting first we had in order that Stopped alcohol with a 10 o'clock that was liquor control at my request did that And then we wait switched over to a curfew. The challenge is not The bar's fault. It's not the restaurant's called But the challenges were in winter. You can't really do outside dining very well. Right now. Indoor dining you Camp were mask when you're chewing and eating and eating your meal, and you can't really were masked when you're drinking. And so inherently, Um, you know, this is just in more dangerous proposition. And I know people say, Well, what's there between 10 39 30? Well, it's not a whole lot, frankly. But this was a compromise. This was a way that we hope to keep these businesses open but also cut down on the number of hours of of exposure. I mean, we're looking at spreading all how At his flatten out, but it's at a extremely high level, you know, you think back in the in the spring, you think back in the summer. We did not. We're not even close than to the amount of spread of the virus every every every day that we're seeing a number of cases than we are today..
