"schofield" Discussed on Behind the Steel Curtain

"And a bunch of other things had to happen for the north play offs. And we were there and they won and then all those other things happen and the only they didn't need absent or make. The playoffs was for the chiefs to beat the chargers. And we listened to that game on the chiefs. Everybody the whole way home and by the time got back my parents house we got there just in just in time to see the chargers win after chiefs blewett and ride suck up and all that stuff but my dad going kept going to games. It was something that we did We went the the next year we we went and saw them play tampa sat the exact same seats. Unfortunately that one didn't end as well But then later that that season my wife. And i went to the last game of the season. And then i had already had tickets to the playoffs. I was able to get them because of the time we bought him. No one thought the steelers are going to make the playoffs and they went on that really nice. Rhonda won four straight games to to to not just make the boss but the host a playoff game But we all might remember what happened with the steelers had to call on a running back off the street to start the in the playoffs so the next year was when i got my season tickets and my dad was the first person to go to me to a game With season tickets and it was the home opener that year. It was where they they beat up. Pretty bad on the forty niners was brian. Cheesier had like fifteen tackles. He was all over the place and then got a stinger in one hour like all i hope he's and then he missed the next several games. But it's something that is always important to me that my dad and i kind of bond over are very stuff with the steelers. My parents still come to my house to watch the super bowl every year. I've shared an article in the past about what it meant to me. The last time the steelers win the super bowl. My parents came to the house but my mom had just learned how to walk again from or she looked. She lost the use of her legs due to an autoimmune disease and had to learn how to walk again and walked in my house in order to watch the super bowl that year but even the even the last year that i was going to games my my dad because of getting older and moving around just said you know what i think. I'm done going the games. His last one was the playoff game in two thousand seventeen but then he took twenty eighteen often than twenty nine thousand nine hundred to me. He's like you know what. I've never been to a monday night. Football game let. Let's go so we went to the dolphins game which ended up being a pretty fun fun game to be at but with me. It's always been those experiences that i've been able to share with with my dad. It's always something for us to talk about. Every time he comes to visit arrive. I i'm at his house to visit our first conversation generally goes steers towards the steelers. Of course he's always asking why i think about with with self with now writing for the website but it's always been something one of those things that that we always know that we can share and having no experiences experiences the first time going into heinz field with my dad is field one time before and that was in two thousand four with my wife. Got me tickets for the day after christmas. I told that story before More she got for four. Christmas was for the day after christmas. But i haven't been to heinz field since from two thousand and four to two thousand thirteen so that that was a big deal to go and experience that with my dad. He'd been steelers games in three rivers. In fact my brother's been to gain you know went to a game with them and everything. But it's just that that special bonding thing about the steelers you know are a lot of presence we give each other has to do with the steelers and and everything else it. It kind of is just one of those things that when when all else fails you know that that is a special bond that you have so i'm so blessed to still have my father with me And i appreciate all those moments that we've had what it comes to the steelers that it's it's things that i'll never forget it and that's why it's also important for me to pass the same thing on to my kids. I've taken my daughter to two different. Preseason games now because that's what she likes to do. The kids generally don't watch football with me on tv because daddy's working and they care really they they. They know that. I have to focus so much on the game and now mike and i occasionally my son will just come and just sit and not say a word I know my my my my second child. My son he's he's excited to go to a game with at some point but we actually went to the last home. Pittsburgh penguins game Before their season gut shutdown with covert and in in twenty twenty and. That was something that was that you know. He likes football. He also likes the hockey. I think he wanted to do something special that his sister had done before but now now he's talking about being his turn to spend some time with dad steelers. So that's the steelers will always be a part of my life when it comes to fatherhood because it's because both of my dad and the in a at our experiences we've had with the steelers even when my dad is a kid took took me to practice at frostburg state university where washington had their their training camp because the steelers for coming down for the day for a workout and when the steelers had some players that came to what i was younger but eventually being my high school to play the faculty and basketball for a fundraiser. On carnell lake lakers one of the steelers and taking us to that and almost every opportunity we could do something steelers. My dad grabbed a hold of that. And what i got older. And i could take those opportunities to do something steelers with him. That was really important. So it's always been about all of football but then it's really taken to the next level with the love the steelers so If my dad this. I want my dad had no. I love you dad. I love our love for the steelers. And i can't wait to talk to you about the steelers any chance i can and for those of you that maybe you maybe you don't have that relationship with a family member where they share your love for the steelers anytime you.

Rhonda second child brian next year fifteen tackles two thousand mike one hour last year twenty eighteen four straight games Christmas super bowl Pittsburgh penguins two first time forty niners monday night both twenty nine thousand nine hund

"Edition of the Patriot speed podcast Evan Lazar Alex Barth arrested box with Mark Schofield. And it's very deserving to have Mark on here with us. We are going to talk quarterbacks per usual whenever I have Mark on we usually Deep dive into the QB's. So obvious going to get into the draft QBs in the second. Justin Fields drive all the way down to Jaime Newman and Davis Mills and Kyle Trask and all those guys as well. But before we get into the nitty-gritty of it we did want to discuss quickly just the Jets trading of Sam darnold to the Carolina Panthers and this trade apparently came together when the Jets were like Justin Fields is pro day at Ohio State with Carolina there as well and I think Carolina took one. Look at Justin Fields is throwing session got his proteges. Like this guy's not making it to us at 8, right and and then they decided to make this move for Sam darnold. So that's where things stand right now. It's the Jets. I think we can basically shot in Zach Wilson at this point in New York and we can maybe get into that a little bit too. But just Mark your initial reaction to the Jets giving up on Sam darnold and be just shared Patriots fans. I don't want to use the word worried cuz I don't think anybody's ever truly worried about the Jets but does Zach Wilson moved the needle at all for you? Because to me it kind of feels like a trading Sam darnold for a younger Sam darnold at this point. Yeah. I mean, there's definitely some of that Evan. I mean I think with respect to this trade Carolina was looking at it like if we could sit at 8 and baby get Cuba four or five in this draft. We might not like that quarterback at all, you know potentially could before it could be Justin Fields as crazy as that sounds to me, but look a dog After again or Jeremiah or today saying that it's Matt Jones at 3. Which again? Okay. So Carolina was like look, we're not going to roll the dice that he's going to be there will take some sort of agency over this decision off and we'll go get a quarterback will get a year or two out of Sam darnold. We can build around him if he works out great. If not, we'll have to reset the quarterback decision two years from now and if anybody could sort of fix Save Arnold aside from just getting them all from Adam gase. Maybe he'll Brady can do it. So I understand it from Carolinas perspective. I think as far as Wilson to the Jets, um, it's a scheme fit, you know, you see the production company had from his sophomore junior year. It was in a lot of those outside Zone boot action will flourish and hand McVeigh system, which is going to be running. So the ski if it makes sense, I mean, you know, you say Sam darnold I say maybe there's some Baker to him. Yeah, either way..

"A lot of kids coming on that. Don't have dads in coach to step in and beat a dead demeo figuring their life but that problem that we could fix we get a all people we could fix. Men just need to step up. Yeah i couldn't agree more kid. Also what is it like for you to have your dad in your corner here at your fights and be with you in this process. What's it like to have him by your side during this is good because it's like Ever somebody that really cares about you in your corner. You know somebody. I want you to excel in is not there. Just earn a paycheck. You know he's there for your well being and It's kinda like having like a best friend is like if i'm feeling you know low nervous. Whatever i get like a little lecture. I how good i am or whatever so it's good for my confidence in you know also just having a a role model there to support you. Yeah very cool i. Why did you initially introduce your son into the sport of boxing at such a young age. What was your interest in introducing into to the game to the sport. I learned from my dad in so it was always passed down. But it appoint Homeless so i had to figure out what trade could. I teach my son how to play basketball. "Joining me now. First-class father floyd scofield. Along with his son. Floyd kid austin scofield. Welcome to first-class fathered owning. Thank you find whiteness all right. Let's start off here where you please hit the losers with a little bit about your background and what you do. I'm coach. i've trained professional fighters. That's what i do. Currently at the moment. I'm sick out a single parent. I raised the son by myself since he was two years old I do a lotta own. a company. Traffic financials that guide people in their investment. So it's a lot of layers to me on stuff. Yeah dat dat. All the way. Kit austin hit the listeners. A little bit about yourself real. Quick here okay son On a professional boxer. Three in austin texas. And i'm just a you know a normal teenager. China look for greatness sport so yeah well said all right floyd how many kids do you have and how to becoming a father kind of change your perspective on life and ask seven kids but floyd is the only one who i have full custody of the kids. It change your life a lot a whole lot. It actually teach you about yourself as you go through the process they help you grow is apparently this is a person. Yeah very well said. Then kit austin what would you say. What would you say are some of the top values that your father instilled in you growing up always to have respect for your elders. You know never take anything for granted and you know anything is possible you can achieve anything you set your mind to ages stare a nice humble young man you'll achieve greatness a lot of good things also really good stuff and what it like for you to watch you saunter professional. May i would imagine. It's gotta be difficult at times to separate yourself. Father from coach to see your son getting punched in the face. I would imagine can't be a great feeling as a father. What is it like for you to watch your son. Now excel in the sport and term pro. His not nerve to nerve wracking for me because he'd been doing it since he was eight. We've been at a hundred and sixty four amateur fights so i actually got to see high handle himself but i'm still scared to. Death is apparent but have confidence that he'll do his job and he'll protect yourself. Yeah we well. So i would imagine so i got four kids myself and i mean one of the things that i got to allow our kids to fail and put themselves in difficult situations and sometimes that can be difficult to watch them. Go through it. But it's something that they need to do and kit kit. Also what was what was the big. What was the age that you were drawn into boxing. What's kept you motivated to stay in the sport for so long here. It's her pro. On as that as far as i can remember ajamian box probably about five in my living room in for hours practicing stepping forward inside side nabi in the living room four hours just all i needed was my favorite show. And they're doing it in on. I believe that's when i fell in love with the I think i like the fact that you have to work hard for you to work hard and get get what you want. Not just like having a given to you. So that's like about boxing. Also yeah very cool. And then floyd what would you say What type of disciplinarian are you as a dad here and is that different than the discipline style. You grew up with. I think blowing up on floyd in adding really disciplined for him because he was a good kid but you know when they get teenagers about that thirteen fourteen than they want to try to bucket you know. Could they feel in their manhood so like any other appear. Shake him up a couple of times but raising a man you gotta be you gotta be strong because they get eight they feel data may but we don't want to put our hands on each other it because that's not cool but he got his mind talk sometimes he got south just about to get into it myself. My oldest is fourteen here. So i'm just about to head all that fun stuff myself on this end and then Turn it over here to you now. Kid austin i know the whole world's upside down here from the pandemic we've obviously had a very difficult year across the entire span and wall all professions. What has it been like for you. Have you been able to stay in the gym. How is you. how's your boxing. Career been affected from the pandemic career. hasn't really been affected. 'cause like safer if the gym where the gym happened to be close. You know. i'm still here. Shadowboxing in liberal. Pushups situps doing myths outside. So you know we had to go through that phase for about a month or two but you know. Our boxing gym opened back up. And i've been able to stay in the gym twenty four seven if i wanted to but i mean it affected. Some fights were fights had to get canceled because they couldn't go through with the shows. That was a little frustrated. But besides that you know. I was able to stay in shape and the chemo monterey really good stuff and floyd one of the things i talk about on my show a lot is the fatherless crisis that we have going on in our country got so many kids that are growing up without a father or father figure in their life. And that's why. I love to see the connection. You have here with your son. I've had teddy atlas on the show. Buster douglas they run gyms and they see a lot of kids coming into their gyms from fatherless households. They find that. Father figure in the sport of boxing through trainers for coaches to us. Find that yourself florida. You seeing that as boxing outlive for some of these kids to find them. Father figures yes. But before i get into that i want to thank all fathers out there in all the steps fall. Is that stepping in for aid. Could sometimes we. We don't get appreciated in ashes. Wanna tell you. I appreciate your office. I know how tough today's out there.

"Let's open up now. Getting to some of these specific guys that have have caught our. Who's the first guy that you want to talk about. Well just looking at the giants history They have a thing about drafting senior bowl. Mvp so i got asked about killing monde. Exactly why you'd ask that. Give it that history. I think what's interesting with monde He's a very high variance type of prospect. Like you could see an flashes whether it was a senior bowl or even throughout the season drought his career in college moments. Where you're like okay. I can see how this could you make it in the national football league. I could see why he be fascinating. Prospect and my team should be intrigued by as well very sort of. I'd say common poised under pressure times You know if he's blitzed. If there's a your breakdown he seems to handle those moments well. He responds to pressure the pocket from all angles extremely well but the problem with has won a variance problem with them as one of consistency for all those high flashes there are low moments for all those good moments. there are struggles and you even saw that during the week. We saw that from an interesting quarterback prospect one three cbo process you four dak prescott. Prescott had a bad senior bowl. We got i wanted to. That's week not impressed with prescott. I wasn't impressed but then showed out of the game and that speaks to his competitive toughness and it might be a similar situation with monde. Where you'll practice week has its ups and downs. His career had his ups and downs. But in the right situation he could really develop into a high end backup spot starter and maybe if you hit a home run on maybe. He becomes a star quarterback in the national football league. So i think there are reasons to like him but it's that lack of true consistency that i think will hold him back. We'll see him slide today three so our listeners might be aware of this. I'm a pretty big notre dame fan. I actually cover notre dame on a different network. And i gotta ask about in book. Because i've watched him throughout his whole career winning his quarterback in notre dame history the there are some notre dame fans and alumni. who think. He's joe montana. Which i think we can all agree here that he's not joe montana but i really do believe he's going to turn into a very very good backup quarterback some of the names that i really liked for him are like a younger version of colt mccoy or trace mcsorley. Hearing one that. I've used a ton is eastern stick. Just somebody who sticks on a roster really smart a good leadership type guy who he will. Keep your team on schedule. He's not going to create huge splash. Plays he doesn't have a huge arm but he can do things within your offense to keep things moving. So you're not completely screwed. Come the event that daniel jones is injured. So what are your thoughts on the book and do you think he could be a good fit for this team. I think so. I think i think joe a lot. The names you just mentioned. They're call mccoy ob trace mcsorley. I think those are very good. Comparisons for where ian book is and what he could bring to the table. I mean what. I talked earlier about. Having somebody your defense can go up against to get ready. I think he checked up on day one because he does have that athleticism. And i do think that when you start thinking about what for rookie quarterback's athleticism is one of the biggest things to have in today's nfl. Because you know. The days of the oddest quarterback the days of the light. Tom brady battleship. Pocket quarterback are fallen by the wayside. Unless you have tom. Brady's elite feel and footwork for the pocket. You're sitting duck back there so you have to have the ability to extend an escape with your legs and book has the ability to play eleven on eleven in the run game because of your is a quarterback matters is a huge bonus for nfl offenses of book has that and again the sort of leadership qualities that you bring to the position. This is a this is not a snap to finish position. It's a film room to finish position like there's so much that goes into play the quarterback position and book from everything. I've read about him for over and have been told about. We saw unforeseeable week because he's one of those guys that got a little bit better as the week went on which speaks to that coach. Billy element egypt's those boxes as well. You know a lot of people have said like you know. Spot starter type. A lot of people said deal on an upper end of the range drew brees. I don't know if i'd go that far. But i do think that it sit here right now would have shocked me of ten years from now. He's still in the league. Absolutely not you know could be called the co two point. Oh absolutely love people say well. We've got cole mccoy. Why bet on the mystery box and he a book. Well because i think he has the elite of better athletic trade sue ham than cole mccoy at fits the motto game better at so if you draft him as your qb three for this year with an eye towards eventually being that back better backup option. Bench ledeen an upgraded cole mccoy plus with a potential to just for you if the starter daniel jones goes down because of his athleticism and his athletic traits. I think there's a positive to that. There's a plus to that. So if they draft ian book around six round seven something like that. I think it's a very good pick. I know we were going to talk about backup. Quarterbacks guys towards the end of the draft maybe developmental prospects. But there's just one trend. I've been seeing over less two weeks or so that that i've got it bring up and that is mack. Jones talking about the draft network has been listed. forty third on their big board So far i've seen three very recent mock drafts by big outlets of one was deemed burglar. the other Obviously todd mcshay. And then i think chad router all of them had the top fifteen with usually with washington trading up to get him trading up to fourteen to get him. So is that. Just recency bias. You know he's. He had that good week at the senior bowl. And then use the basically the last quarterback standing out of the college season or are there things there that maybe the league sees but some of us on the outside just aren't seeing I think from media outlet perspectives. Part of it as recess you buy as part of it is the senior bowl because i think evaluators of the media wanted to see him outside of the jalen devante smith nausea harris offense. Like can't he's sort of be an effective quarterback what he doesn't have potentially three first round picks outside of and that does up. I've got alabama fans in my mentioned. Say all the time in my dm's all the time saying why joe burrow qb one in first pick overall it. He had all those weapons. Why is at the same happened. It would match on. So i'm hearing it from all angles right now. You mentioned oh does the nfl like more and this is a good moment to bring up the fact that people that are going to be making these decisions have mortgages to pay of bills debate..

Should the Patriots replace Cam Newton with Jarrett Stidham?

"Think this is where we need to start because it's where everybody is starting when we talk about the Patriots and where we're at with Cam Newton right now in terms of the Patriots quarterback of the here-and-now home and also maybe even looking Beyond here and now to the 2021 season even and here in New England you turn on Boston sports radio, and I'm not trying to pick on those guys, but there are definitely talking a lot about Jarrett Stidham and the possibility of benching Cam Newton for Jarrett Stidham. I think they're crazy. But that that's a topic for another day. Mostly I want to focus on what are your opinions right knee about how cam is playing and how he can obviously improve from objectively. What was a very bad game on Sunday against the Cardinals whether you're a chemist and or a cam hater. Yeah, and it wasn't dead. A game against Arizona and Arizona. First of all, I think you have to remember that Arizona's defense is a lot different than Houston's defense. It's a lot different than Seattle's defense back in week to that Houston game. That's you know game those were two games with Jim actually got the passing game going and you felt hey maybe they could put together a passing game that could actually be effective Arizona see on their athletic. They fly all over the place Isaiah Simmons budda Baker. Like they have guys that can play they have some different things and they certainly they were putting an egg nine guys in the box of times. I'm sure having you saw that as well. I know you have from some of the work you've done they were basically dare in New England like go ahead. S game by throwing the football and it looked like they couldn't, you know, they got a couple breaks at the end with a missed field-goal and Isaiah Simmons penalty then put them in position to win, but they didn't win that game because of the passing game, but you know, that often said, I think we all have to sort of take a step back and realize a couple of things one. You mentioned I studied quarterbacks. Each week at USA Today. I have to do what we call a QB camp where I put up five of my quarterback videos of the most notable quarterback performances. There are some weeks friends. It's hard to find five good quarterback package, which is league-wide It's just tough. This is one of those weeks like you might get Baker Mayfield than that because there's just not great quarterback players Patriots fans were spoiled from two decades of Tom Brady where we took the best at the quarterback position weekend and week out but then when you take a step back and you don't have that and you see guys like, you know, Derek Carr and his high variance play or Baker Mayfield in his high variance player. Look at Carson waves, I mean talk about somebody that's regressed. He's regressed all the way back to his senior year at North Dakota State quarterback plays tough. And right now we have a quarterback. That's high variance. Well, that's one thing. I think we need to remember the other is this he came in late in a strange year in the midst of a pandemic with no training camp more minimal training camp. No minicamps. No OTAs, no prestige. James be tough complicated offense to run that has so many different moving parts. You've read The Playbook, you know, Evan every road has like six different variations. I'm trying to do is hard. There are some play books that are easy. It's like oh, yes, this makes sense Bruce Arians Playbook. It's kind of easy. Nothing really changes Josh McDaniels doing the Patriots Playbook. It's like quantum physics for me. Like I I can't figure it out. And so to try to do that in the midst of all this is difficult. So with that context, I think you know, if you want to get into the home Jared versus cam debate. I don't really think there is one because as you pointed out this week on Twitter Bill Belichick has seen Jarrett Stidham now for almost two years. He's seen him every day in practice if Jake was going to be the answer to what fixed to what else is Patriots passing game. Yes, he would play him but he's not so that tells you what you need to know about Jackson them. I was on Jarrett Stidham home. Right before they signed Camp. I remember I wrote the peace and said look Jack said it was a planet quarterback everybody and I'm so glad I snuck in at the ad. Well, look if they could get can do it for cheap short not be great. But Jarod said it was a planet like two weeks later. I signed Cam Newton Cam right now gives them the best chance to win games. Is it through the passing game most weeks? Probably not, you know this week might be a get right opportunity. But if I you know, if for the 2021 season, I still think canvas done enough to earn the chance to win this job with a full complement of training camp preseason, all that stuff of the engine needs to get better at Short of the mechanics break. Absolutely not do they matter. Sometimes they actually do but right now he's the best shot they've got week in and week out to win games.

I am just forget where where you're writing cuz you always write it like 10 different places and I have to keep track and then I have you on the podcast and look like an idiot when I say the wrong one and this is perhaps routine. You can listen to all my podcast with Marc and it's the exact same thing me saying Mark, where is it again to a doctor now? It's it's better that all data and evidence of this for me when I sometimes like write something down like wait, who am I ready this for? Do I have to edit the intro that I just wrote Because I think I'm writing from one place and it's actually article for some place else. So well, the point is is that Mark is absolutely everywhere. I'm sure all of you off. Do you follow him on Twitter as well at Mark Schofield? Why Dallas Cowboys' Andy Dalton will seamlessly replace Dak Prescott, for now

"To win all this great stuff courtesy of Miller Lite the only beer of the Dallas Cowboys. We're please rejoin on Cowboys Beats by Mark Schofield to touch down wire part of USA Today and Thursday. Let's start with Mark you specialize in evaluating the quarterback position. So let's start with Andy Dalton and give me your 2020 evaluation of Andy Dalton. Where is he off quarterback hierarchy and how much of a drop-off is between he and Dak Prescott. Well, I'm sure you guys I won't even give you the choice. I'll do the good news first the good news here for Cowboys packages that he still might like now, I'll be the best quarterback in the NFC East partly a reflection on how everybody else is played because Washington quarterback situation is a mess Django Jones doesn't seem to be quite have put it together yet and caution. Once while a good quarterback has struggled this year. I mean I've struggled around him Lane Johnson has hurt historically once has struggled without land Johnson in a life. And so almost by default you can make the argument that and you talked to might be the best quarterback in the division. Not a flip side of that is it's a bad division, which might mean that Andy Dalton could still get you to the playoffs and get you a dog. You titled ready in 30 is a drop-off Jack Prescott. I think that's an acceptable fact. You don't think anybody will push back on where Eddie Dalton is right now is he's a quarterback that he can still run most probably eighty-five to ninety percent of your offense with you. Just let it go enough that some of your plays that you have in there for Dad, press God to take advantage of his athleticism may have to check out of the Playbook there might be some more quarterback designs ones that you probably don't want to use just because now if you lose any. And you're really in trouble so you probably don't watch them too much dance you the vertical passing game you saw that on the throat of Gallup at the end of the game when you needed a play that was a tremendous reading program and adult and they showed him to High coverage. They spotted two age Hai. He saw the signal coverage of Galilee through a great deep-ball so you could still run the bulk of your Elf and she had made so it's not a full-on panic situation. I think if you're doubtless because of all of the song How did circumstances regarding this division right now? You can still run your offense and Main competitor with

"No, thanks with all those pics and third I will be floored because he just wage. Screams Patriot to me like the accuracy the decision-making like the stuff that they value at the position that we know like, you know Belichick there was 91 or 2001 or 2011. I think you still values that stuff. The one thing that might give me some pause is the hand size and I know that sounds silly off and the first people to make fun of hand size Twitter but some dining experience. It's an issue for December and Foxboro. Like it just is like and you look at okay been playing and the SEC not a ton of weather games, but you throw on that Kentucky game that was in a monsoon. He couldn't throw the ball like so that there is one of those instances where you know, when I talk about hands as I use the example from last year Brett Rypien and Drew walked both of whom had not his hands while you put on their film and with lock he's thrown in whether there are there are a ton of fumbles in dog. Market you put on ripping. He can't throw in snow fumbles in the park yet. There are times when it matters and I think that Kentucky Governors is an example of somebody that with smaller hands it does factor into the equation. So maybe if they do look at that that might be the one thing they might say. Yeah, I don't know about that. Otherwise, I think he's a patriot the weird part about it is is that from is in my mind at least really good at the ball handling thing. I you know, I think the ball off and play-action Jet sweeps all that kind of stuff. What put Jake Fromm on everybody's radar what he was playing as a freshman it was that little ball flip at the pocket right truck back home of the ball and was like, oh my God, this is crazy. This so cool. You don't get to do that. If you don't have ball skills. I mean, yeah it is. It is interesting that you know that it's a great point that you brought it up because it is we don't really account for the weather and for the elements as nearly as much as Bill Belichick does sometimes bad guy. It's all over it when comes to that type of like birth. Swear to God I there are times when I fancied myself a bit of weather nerd like I'm looking at my bookmarks right now on my my Google Chrome and I've got all sorts of weather like sites and forums and stuff like that. I swear I'll go into the New England one before Patriots game and there's like a counselor. I'm like, that's Belichick right whether you go east cuz he's always with them meteorologist. He knows weather and wind direction and stuff. Yeah. I'm sure it matters because a game last year. I think it was the Giants Thursday night or where the forecast said. It was supposed to be like a monsoon..

I mean, I think if you take the medical stuff in strip it away whether you have Borough one or two one like you can make sure Is for either one of those guys at the top of board. I mean, I have Borough one to it, too. When I watch too. I see a quarterback that does some things very well. I see a quarterback. "People aren't even gonna. People are not even going to be able to explain Troy. Troy Aikman's gonna feel like Bradshaw does in about twenty years, Brad Schofield's now like a caretaker, not not a gunslinger a caretaker for a great franchise. That's what Aikman's gonna look like in twenty years when you start stacking up the stats and you realize that Troy Aikman in fact, you bet you guys can find someone funny in today's game that would represent Troy Aikman's career numbers because Steve Smith's are better than Michael. So Aikman had thirty two thousand nine hundred forty two career passing yards his his high for a seat. Season just to kind of highlight what Dan's talking about here is thirty four hundred forty five yards. That's his high for a season. Troy Aikman's considered one of the best quarterback to ever play football and he was over twenty touchdowns in a season. How many times once wasn't that twenty one time one time at twenty at exactly twenty not twenty one. Now he had twenty three one season. That's the only season he went over twenty. Think about that for a second one sixty five for his career. Troy. When we're gonna look back in like Bob greasy like Bob greasy, handing off are throwing the ball seven times a Super Bowl looking at Andy, Dalton career right now is a better completion percentage in Troy Aikman and he's already surpassed them and touchdowns. Mike, I'm telling you when I'm watching on Sundays the precision, I'm watching on Sundays the past, the Kirk cousins through to tie that game. In between two converging defenders on a double team, the precision that you're watching on Sundays. I'm, I think Mike. If I put a nineties football game on the television, if I feel like if I tell do you think I'm right about this. If I take even one of those guys like Dan fout and I put this game on television in the eighties or nineties that we're going to be looking at it and saying my God, these quarterbacks are so imprecise because we've gotten so used to these quarterbacks throwing into these absurd windows where six, seven guy you're throwing into his back shoulder. That's not. That's not how guys were covered forty years ago. You had guys running all over the field wide open. You can objectively look at these sets and say, Andy, Dalton is a better quarterback than Troy Aikman who's all Famer better? Touchdown interception ratio is already surpassed. Men touchdowns better completion percentage. What's just rings? Yes, it's rings. It's the Andy. Dalton has never wanna.
