Biden Draws More Viewers Than Trump in Town Hall Ratings

"Joe Biden slash George Stephanopoulos. That town hall in the ratings, Something is wrong. So when we look at last night conspiracy you had get cute on Biden and Stephanopoulos and that town hall. Beat Trump. By what a couple of million votes. Viewers. Sorry, couple million viewers that this I am not so so and listen, I watched a lot of Biden last night and I also watched. A lot of trumpet was on the five o'clock hour here. You and I were watching and monitoring. And the Biden stuff was absolutely boring. Doesn't mean that it was bad. I'm just saying it was really boring. And like, if you want to see a show you should have put NBC on yesterday because the Trump Savannah. Guthrie was interesting. It was compelling. It was much better television and Trump lost in the ratings. And what I mean by that is he hates to lose in the ratings, and if he's losing in the ratings to the most boring man in the world, Joe Biden I don't. I don't think you're going to do well on election night, Mr Trump, it is. It's a telling sign it before people Chad want to watch the boring Than the actual show The Trump show. Here's the thing, too, with Trump. I also think people are just over just everything, not just trump. I think people are sick and tired of watching the media fight with them all the time. They want to go out. They want to go vote and get it over with. By the way, we could vote some of the media out. I'd like to do that, too, because it does at times feel like I like I can't. I just don't I don't care anymore. I don't want to watch. Somebody yell at him argue and they get cheered by people on the left of the way that she took it to him. And at the same time, you know, you look over there. And Stephanopoulos is like, how you doing, sir? And it's just like it. How did you think Stephanopoulos did with Trump in the town? Did OK, So it was really the difference between Stephanopoulos? Well, that that was who was asking the question? Because Stephanopoulos all he did was really facilitate. Hey, it's Nancy from, you know Philadelphia. She wants that these She's an undecided voter. Well, then we found out with that one that they weren't really undecided voters the first time with Trump on DSO. Well, that was that was something a little bit there. At the end of the day, you pretty much have made up your mind that that thing is shrinking every single day the amount of undecided amount of undecided voters that can sway this One way or another. Here's the thing, Chad. I was talking to a buddy of mine who's a big trump supporter. And I said, So. What do you think of last night and he just I can hear him on the face shaking his head. He goes. What is this stuff with? You know, he still doesn't answer the white supremacist question Well, He's putting out this conspiracy theory that seal Team six didn't kill bin Laden and Joe Biden, then killed them fake the whole things. It's because he's that's out, sweetie is and skills that this wacko conspiracy driven cult. That is out there that Trump continues to talk about Retweet and play dumb that he doesn't understand what it's about. And my buddy who's this big Republican big Trump fan, he goes. I don't know what the hell that guy's doing. I don't get what he is doing. He's blowing it, and that's not me saying it. That's a friend of mine who he doesn't like Trump Dude, He loves trump. Okay, He loves Trump, and he just looks at this stuff. And he says, I wonder if I'm the only big Trump supporter out there that's looking at this man. Just completely collapse in front of our eyes. "A separate event on NBC news, president Trump told moderator Savannah Guthrie, the pandemic is almost over. It's rounding the corner and we have the vaccine is coming, and we have the therapy's coming here on Capitol Hill. Republicans are hoping to confirm Amy Cockney Barrett to the Supreme Court by the end of the month. Biden was pressed if he would try to add more justices to the high cord if Democrats with the election, But don't voters have a right to know where they do have a right to know, understand? I have a right to know where I stand. Before they vote, President Trump was again asked to denounce white supremacy white supremacy. He was also questioned on his Twitter activity. Specifically his retweet of a fringe conspiracy theory that Biden orchestrated the killing of Seal Team six to cover up the fake death of Osama bin Laden. Put it out there. People could decide

Trump and Biden spar from afar in dueling town halls

"Let's talk about what happened last night president trump and former vice president biden making their case to the American people are on Dueling town halls. I was sitting there with my remote going back and forth back and forth both events focusing on the trump administration's handling of the global. Pandemic. Do, you support herd immunity as a strategy essentially just lucky. The Cure. CanNot be worse than the problem itself we did the right thing we were expected to lose two, million, two, hundred, thousand people, and maybe more than that. We're at two hundred, ten, thousand people. One person is too much should never happened because of China it happened because of China and you have to get that and understand that there's a presidential responsibility to lead and he didn't do that. He didn't talk about what needed to be done because he kept worrying in my view about the stock market. He worried if he talked about how bad this could be unless we took these precautions precautionary actions then in fact. The market down and his barometer success economies the market. Joining us up right now is political strategist and pollster Frank Luntz who watched the duly town halls with a focus group of sixteen undecided voters. Frank. What was the upshot? The upshot I've been trying to figure this out for the last couple of months? Why are these people still undecided after all this time after seeing all these different events and watching all the ads and I can answer for you right now They are nervous about trump's persona and are nervous about Joe Biden's policies, and that's what's holding them back. It's not that they can't see difference between the two candidates they see a tremendous difference. But the difference is an aspects of things, they don't like about each candidate and they're trying to decide which is more important to them. The fact that they really don't like Donald Trump as a person. Or the fact that they are really scared about what you're biding might do if he became president. Based on that assessment though as you talk to them and hear their their thoughts. Do you walk away from Matt Feeling like they're moving in one direction or another based on these events or anything else? Frankly know that they cannot decide and that they will not decide and that they're going to wait until Election Day, our history tells us that in the end if they haven't decided to support the incumbent that they end up to one supporting the Challenger. For Donald Trump the only way he can win at this point and frankly he should have done this debate it was to mistake van cancel it the only way now with this state dividing the way that they are with. So few people undecided is that he would have to win every single undecided voter and then win over four five percent who were leading to Joe Biden right now, that is a very tall order when you only have one more debate to come. To show you a couple of clips get your feedback on them. Last night president trump spoke about the economy during his townhall where Savannah Guthrie interviewed him take a look at this. We are going to have a phenomenal third quarter which will be announced on November. I just prior to the big November third day we're thinking this year red wave, but we're going to have a tremendous announcement I believe I mean we're gonNA find out but GDP is going through the roof. If we don't have somebody that raises taxes and quadruples taxes, which they want do and kills everything our economy's going to be phenomenal next year. was that an effective argument for your independence? No no, it was not. It's going to be phenomenal. It's going to be tremendous I. Guess you can applaud him for coming up with words that have three and four syllables but that's not what these undecideds are looking for. They do support they remember the economy before covert and give trump a lot of credit for that but they want to know the details how can he do it again? This current circumstance and they don't want these generalities they want to know exactly what he's going to do. They're never going to endorse him in his persona. They'll like how he attacks don't like the dish business that comes from him but did you appreciate his job and they appreciate his success they wanna see that he's going to be able to do that one more time. So franken next week, these two candidates are going to have their final debate together. Terms of approach if you were advising both candidates, you would be telling them what I be telling Joe Biden to repeat again and again. there. He goes again, you just the same line that Ronald Reagan used to remind people of what they're tired of and to remind people that there is simply frustrated and anxious and the quite frankly exhausted from this campaign. And for Donald, trump and I'm sure that he will not do this I would say look I would I would apologize to Joe Biden for that first debate I'm being very serious now I would apologize to him for that first debate and acknowledge that not everything has gone as planned but remind people that we did it before we did it again he's got the proof he's got the evidence did he knows what to do that it worked once and that it can work again I want to say one more clip. But before we do that, what do you make of all of the votes that are coming in by mail? As you're looking at the different tallies around the country, are you convinced that those are in? The prevailing wisdom is that people voting early voting for Biden do you believe that's the case I do and I'm doing a significant amount of polling on it right now, and by the way Andrew I hope that you can show the focus group because the one thing that's been very frustrating to me as upholster is that we're hearing from people like me and we're not hearing from the voters themselves and I think that that is constructive thing that could possible viewers frank let let's do. Let's do that right now because you you ask your Focus Group of sixteen hundred voters about the economy and we have a clip of that and I want to show it. With. Let's roll it. Trump had an opportunity to speak to undecided voters. He specifically mentioned the economy and what he says over and over again is it's GonNa be Great. It's going to be better than ever it's going to be. We're going to get right back to where we are and Thurs euro substance tobacco

Trump lies at town hall

"Stage, not with the same inquisitor. Let's take a look at what happened with those town halls with KCBS political analyst Mark Sandalow joining me now in the KCBS Ring Central News line. I suppose you had to be a true political junkies. Go watch both of these mark, especially here because and then recording one of watching it later. Yeah, I tried stand toe watching both simultaneously. No way. You have to be a lunatic to try that and a little tick to do what I did, instead. Which is I watch one and and then the other. This was not just two different networks and Canada, Canada too different. Universes. I mean, it's you know, if you like police shows Biden was sort of NC I trump was a cop. It was on Cove it alone. I mean, covert alone, the president said. First boy said he couldn't remember if you got tested before the last debate, which I mean that was the rule of the last debate. In fact, he was hospitalized a few days later, but he said he often get tested every day, and he just couldn't remember if he had that day. He said that you know the lockdowns across the country are aimed at hurting him politically, that he's been pretty pretty much ahead of the scientists on this all the way. But he didn't want to warn everyone in dire terms because he didn't want to panic people, But he figured he saved about two million lives. The most remarkable thing, he said on covert, I thought was twice he repeated. A mangled way of looking at a misinterpreted CDC report twice yesterday, he said. 85% of people who wear masks, get Cove it and let me tell you what otherwise would have 300 million cases in the country. And you know what it was, And he said this earlier in the day, too, when he's referring to is a CDC study that was even looking at masks, but it looked at a couple 100 people for other symptoms. Of the couple 100 people who had Cove it, they ask him questions and of those people. It turns out that 85% of them had said that they had worn masks at some point in the period last two weeks. The idea. The president still spreading the idea that mask might be bad and not good for Cove. It isn't pretty big contract to Biden, who said if you were president, he would certainly look into some sort of nationwide mandate, if possible, both for masks And maybe even for a vaccine. We go step further on that 85% thing That is, ah, line of B s that has been spread by distant disinformation sources for weeks now, mark and you can go anywhere. Just follow the CDC threat on Twitter and look at some of the poster and you'll see this put up there by people who've created stories around the look legit. It's totally false as you just pointed out, And so obviously this is the echo chamber in which the president is gathering the information he uses International Forum. And I mean you could again you can create Echo chambers that convince you that you're a war between the states and Mexico is a good idea or that tariff between us and China. Those are policy debates that required judgment. This is simple math and common sense. If 85% of Americans who wear masks head Cove it we would have over three. We'd have heard immunity would have over 300 million cases in this country right now, which clearly is in the case. The president did it again. On another question. He was asked about queuing on this. Ah, this conspiracy or into group that believes that there is a tonic pedophilia ring run by Democrats and the deep state that President Trump has been sort of a hero by fighting back against them. So Trump was saying Trump, who did renounce white supremacy last night. I would ask you not renounce. Q and on, he said. I have no idea what that is. And then Savannah Guthrie was saying, Of course he did. I mean, you you know what that is, And you've been asked about this before. You haven't read anything about it, he says now always heard that they apparently opposed Peter pedophilia. And he opposes pedophilia is well, thiss goes on. He sent a tweet out, which suggested that Osama bin Laden might be alive and the Joe Biden was somehow responsible for killing Navy seals to hide the fact that the entire attack on Osama bin Laden was a front Asked about that last night, he said, Oh, no, no, no, no, He's not saying that's the case. He's just retweeting with somebody else put out there. And they was. But service president states If you re tweet something, don't you think people will believe you? And he said, Look, that's not for me. That's not for May. I just put it out there and you decide again. We're so far outside the bounds off normal debate, lower taxes, higher taxes, you know, Obama care or more privatized insurance. I mean, these are the kind of things that most debates will be made up. Not shouldn't be a headline that the president renounced white supremacy, which certainly was one of the headlines last night. Mark Sandalow are KCBS political analyst live from Washington. And now the money watch Report. With

Recap: Trump's NBC Town Hall And Biden's ABC Town Hall

"Town halls. Last night, ABC News George Stephanopoulos posting Joe Biden, the former vice president of the United States, now the Democrat nominee for president, Donald Trump. Meanwhile, the president of the United States was on NBC with Savannah Guthrie. Yes, There was no debate last night. Yes, it was cancelled by the debate commission. Yes, Steve Scully, the guy who was supposed to moderate the debate. It turns out, he lied about being hacked on his Twitter account. So his life isn't going too well right now, but we still got a debate. Savannah, Guthrie and President Trump were debating one another for almost the entire town hall. They were just cats and dogs all over each other the entire time. Very little time for voters toe get a chance to question the president of the United States. Although there was a funny moment. 27 listen to this woman. She's a Biden lead leaning Supporter, writes that she's leaning towards Joe Biden. Her name is Paulette Dale. And here's what she had to say the moment she had a chance to question the president of the United States question. Evening, Mr President, I have to say you have a great smile. The guy's hands. You're so handsome when you smile. Thanks. Mom was totally fan Girling. She was She was like Backstreet Boys, just like boy banding all over again, you know I don't think she's voting for Biden. I just have this hunch again. There's another producer who I think lost a jobless. There's a lot of unemployment to based on the town hall last night. It's still funny. And by the way she was being attacked, of course, like because everything is the next potential crisis. Everything's all out war. You're never allowed. Teo. You know, you give comfort to the enemy. So just You have a great smile. You should smile more. I love your smile and being destroyed for that. Well, that's a big thing on the left. You don't tell her where I'm tired of being constantly told that I should smile more because you never tell menace smile more that That's a thing for the For the women on the left. Yeah, well, maybe she was two birds. One stone She got in there last night, and it made it Was added a couple of men to the smile equation, adding President Trump to it. Oh, and last night. Also Joe Biden remember facing off against Stephanopoulos. This was a tough one cut 40. You know? Finally, Finally we get to the issue of Hunter Biden in a national setting. Here's that moment last night. That's right now it didn't come up at all. We've sighted and Garfunkel were there. How did I miss this? Nobody. Simon Garfunkel in the entire 90 minutes. 30 different question. Town Hall. Joe Biden doesn't get a single one about the newly emerging evidence that he appears tohave corrupted American foreign policy to the benefit of his family's financial interests. Not a single question about this last night, not a surprise. But ABC. Throws in with on overwhelming effort by the media and the big tech companies to suppress an important story that the New York Post has been breaking every single day for the last couple days. No, it was. It was just so amazing. And I'm glad that I watched them separately. Just because for me, I don't have the ability to just pay attention. Both. I'm afraid, miss something. So, Watson separately, I will say, though. A job in town hall. I just started playing a game on my phone because they would ask a question. And Joe Biden would start answering the question. And then he would meander through a whole bunch of different topics. Everything that was going on in his head. He would meander all over the place. I was waiting for the big giant, you know, Biden Gaff which wasn't there didn't happen. I'm just gonna float this and I could be 100% wrong. So this is just a thought that has gone through my head last night. He He was just talking so much. I thought somebody put him on Ritalin. He was just just going and go. He was taking like Barack Obama length to answer a question. Yeah, they say that he stayed for 30 minutes after the town hall and kept answering questions. He kept talking forever. ABC never heard that footage released it by the way they should. If he have cameras and a microphone on him. We should see the footage of his Q and a with the voters after that thing was done last night released Joe Biden. I do want to get to this. This. He was asked about court packing last night. Cut 45 with George Stephanopoulos. Here is here is his new answer on court packing. How about that question of expanding the court hears what you said exactly one year ago tonight at a Democratic debate, he said, I would not get into court packing. I would not packed the court. That's not what you're saying Now is the nomination of Judge Barrett Reason enough to rethink your position. What is the nomination and what I wanted to do? George? You know if I had answered the question directly, then all the focus is beyond what's Biden going to do? If he wins instead of on? Is it appropriate? What is going on now? And it should stay. This is the thing that the president loves to do always take our eye off the ball. What's his state? One of these, Peter suggested is and there's a number of constitutional scholars have suggested as well that there are at least 45 options that are available to determine whether or not you could change the way in which the court lifetime appointment takes place. Consistent, arguably. With the Constitution. I have not been a fan of court packing because I think it just generates what will happen every whoever wins. It just keeps moving in a way that is inconsistent with what is going to be manageable. So you're still not a fan, but I'm not a fan of Don't say it depends on how this turns out. Howie wins but how it's handled how it's handled. There's a hostage crisis. You don't play by my rules on packing the court how it's handled. What does that mean? We know how it's going to be handled. There's a vote on the 22nd. She's going to get confirmed me how it's going to be handled. He? That is about the clearest indication he's given yet that he intends to pack the court. Yeah, he said last night he is open to packing the United States Supreme Court. And it depends on how it's handled. He's got the gun to our heads, he says. Go ahead. You want me to pack the court approve any Cockney? Barrett put her on the Supreme Court. I'll do it. That's the answer he gave in his own marble mouth, Joe Biden Way.

C-SPAN suspends Scully after he admits to lie about hack

"So last night fence we had the two competing town halls and Joe Biden got a two hour town hall. President Trump got a 40 minute town hall because the 1st 20 minutes of his town hall were spent arguing with Savannah Guthrie, who thought she was there to debate the president. But what last night was supposed to be was supposed to be nice to be a town hall with both candidates on the same stage, which could have happened last night and should have happened last night. But that was a goat rodeo. And so it didn't happen last night, thanks to the council on the presidential debates. S so instead, we have the two competing town halls. Now. C Span's Steve Sculley was supposed to be moderating that town. Holly's has been one of the moderators of the town hall That was supposed to happen last night. And the whole thing fell apart and part of this whole thing falling apart. You know the president was was the president, you know? Could he be there without being a super spreader they were calling on Biden's campaign, you know, apparently didn't want in there. They only wanted him there. If he was encased in like the boy in the plastic bubble like John Travolta, you know all these ridiculousness, but Steve's going one of getting caught up in this Because President Trump criticized Steve Scully as a never Trumper And Scully tweets at Scaramucci Anthony Scaramucci build Trump aide Should Scaramucci Should I respond to Trump? And everybody is thinking. Oh, he meant his put this editor a D. M. He meant to message right scare a Scaramucci directly, but instead he tweeted it out. And that, of course, caught everyone's attention. So in response to that, Scully says, My Twitter account was hacked, and we all laughed at it because it was like the third time. He said that his Twitter account has been hacked. And every time it happens, his Twitter account goes away. And then it comes back once the controversial wait. I'm sorry. There were multiple times that he did that. Yeah, there was more than what there was more that I have. No, it's okay. I didn't. I just didn't realize that okay? Yeah, he's done a multiple times hilarious even worse. Yeah, so so his account goes away, and then it comes back. So that's why I think a lot of people were a little little suspicious about him, saying that his account was hacked yet again. Well, turns out he could not keep up the lie, and he has admitted that his Twitter account was not hacked, he said. I falsely claim that my Twitter account had been hacked. So he has now been suspended as the political editor Force C span after he admitted that his Twitter feed was hacked. And you know what part of me feels like. Okay, good for him. He admitted it. How many of these people especially on the left will ride that denial down into the grand and into their graves? Because they say, Hey, it worked for joy Reid. So it'll work for me and what is left. Do they just deny and double down on denying double down and then they dare you to continue to come after them and most on the right, Just go OK and they walk away, but that didn't work for Steve

President Donald Trump in Miami, and Joe Biden in Philadelphia, Participate In Dueling Town Halls Instead Of Second Presidential Debate

"The presidential race took a new turn tonight for the first time ever. The Republican and Democratic nominees held nationally televised town hall meetings at the same time, making their pitch to voters in Miami. Savannah Guthrie of NBC News Grilled President Trump about a New York Times report that he owes unidentified creditors some $400 million. I don't hold money to any of these sinister People has been going on for years now. Russia Russia, Russia turned out to be a hoax. But it turned out to be that Hillary Clinton Democrats who we're dealing with Russia not make its all home, so I would not mind it'll saying who it is, but it's very small when you look at vast properties like I have, and they're big and they're beautiful, and they're well located. When you look at that the amount of money for $100 million subpoena. It's extremely under 11, and it's leveled with normal banks. Trump also defended his decision not to release his tax returns, slanting and ongoing. Iris on it. Joe Biden answered questions in Philadelphia, George Stephanopoulos of ABC News asked him if he would pack the court. Increasing the number of Supreme Court justices. If Amy Cockney Barrett is confirmed, you are open to expanding the court. I'm open to considering what happens from that point on, you know, you said so many times during the campaign all through the course of your career. It's important level it is George. If I if I say no matter what answer I gave you If I say it, That's the headline tomorrow. It won't be about what's going on now. The improper way they're proceeding. But don't voters have a right to know where they do have a right to know what I stand, and I have a right to know where I stand before they vote. So you'll come out with a clear position before Election Day. Yes, depending on how they handle this fight, and says his decision will hinge on whether there is in his words really live debate on the floor of the Senate, but he says he's open to looking at options. Trump arrives in Miami for fundraiser, town hall; VP attends 2 events

"Where the similarities ended. President Trump took questions tonight in Miami is NBC hosted his town hall, while Joe Biden was in Pennsylvania at a town hall on ABC. Is correspondent Chuck Sivertsen tells us the moods and tone were differently. Town Hall events in Miami President Trump first questioned by NBC's Savannah Guthrie about when he first tested positive for covert. Did you tell her? I don't know. I don't even remember. I tested all the time. The president says he does not get tested daily. Did he have pneumonia? And I just all I know is I felt good The following day, I felt really good. Did the doctors ever tell you that they saw pneumonia on your lungs? But they said the lungs, Irv, you know a little bit different a little bit, Perhaps. On ABC Democratic challenger Joe Biden Question by voters in Philadelphia on Cove. It is the presidential responsibility to lead And he didn't do that. He didn't talk about what needed to be done because he kept worrying, in my view about the stock more taxes. Trump Tax cuts about 1.3 trillion Of the $2 Trillion in his tax cuts went to the top 1/10 of 1%. That's what I'm talking about Eliminating not all the tax cuts. The candidates talked about the Supreme Court, the economy and race relations, among other topics. Meanwhile, Pamela Harris has tested negative for covert 19

Trump says he'll accept peaceful transfer, 'but I want it to be an honest election'

"Challenger Joe Biden took part and dueling town halls tonight, held at the same time on different networks. Trump told NBC Savannah Guthrie. Now he says, he will accept a peaceful transfer of power should he lose, and then they talk about when you accept a peaceful transfer. And the answer is, yes, I will. But I wanted to be an honest election, and so does everybody else. This is people around the country participate in early voting, and his Senate

Highlights and Key Moments From Trump and Biden Town Halls

"Joe Biden were supposed to be on the same stage tonight for debate number two when that fell apart. Candidates took part in separate town halls. Mr Trump took questions in Miami. As NBC hosted his town hall. Biden was in Pennsylvania on ABC. The covered 19 pandemic took center stage for both men. The president found himself in a testy exchange with Savannah Guthrie of NBC as Faras. The Mask is concerned, I'm good with Master. I'm okay with this and tell people where miss, but just the other day they came out with a statement that 85% of the people that wear masks catch it, So you know, that's what I heard. Biden criticized Mr Trump's response to the pandemic, charging the president put the economy before public health. It is the presidential responsibility to lead And he didn't do that. He didn't talk about what needed to be done because he kept worrying. In my view about the stock market. Biden accuses the president of mocking mask where the words of a president matter No matter whether they're good, battering different they matter when a president doesn't wear a mask or makes fun of folks like me when I was wearing a mask for a long time. Then, as you know, people say, Well, it must be that important. Mr. Trump also took aim at the affordable Care act or Obama care over and over again when asked about his own plans to lower healthcare costs. The president said he would, in his words implement much better healthcare under a much better price, and he pledged to protect people with preexisting conditions.

Trump's Town Hall On NBC To Overlap With Biden's

"Not gonna happen. So President Trump and Vice President Former Vice President Joe Biden, his opponent in the election campaign, will hold competing town hall events tonight on competing television networks. I'm joined Live on the KCBS Ring Central News lined by KCBS political analyst Mark Sandalow. Will, the president shouted himself Will Joe Biden tell him to shut up, man? I mean, how's this gonna work? Those are good questions standing in some ways, it's refreshing because both sides will certainly get out what they want to say without having to do the back and forth. So this is actually I mean, it's eight o'clock on the East Coast. Which means five o'clock for Californians, ABC News and George Stephanopoulos talking to Biden for somewhere on 90 minutes, Town Hall setting in Pennsylvania on NBC at five o'clock. It'll be Savannah Guthrie talking to trump with Florida voters, they say for an hour, but I'm guessing that Trump will want to go. As long as a CZ Long's Biden. I mean, Trump obviously has a lot more to do on the new polls out today show Biden with fairly substantial leads in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, even in Georgia. It also has him up in Florida. Dead heat in Ohio up in Arizona this This is something that you know the president needs to shake up if he's going to win election. I mean, the only the early prediction. I'll give you this. The president tomorrow morning. Almost guarantee it will say, Take a look at the ratings and he'll say this before the ratings even come out, But he'll probably be right. He'll say. I got a whole lot more people watching me than Joe Biden that shows you that, you know, I'm actually the Poles are wrong. I'm way ahead with the elections are not decided, of course by TV viewership. And the president is very good at creating an audience and live TV and for those who are turning on the television to see the equivalent of some of the potential for a car crash or something exciting happening. I think there's no question that Donald Trump is more likely to be the more lively and newsmaking events. You could measure

Trump's Town Hall On NBC To Overlap With Biden's On ABC

"A second presidential debate scheduled for tonight. And then the commission on Presidential Debates canceled that after the president contracted covert 19 and then set up a virtual format debate, president said, and not going to do it wasted time. So what you have tonight in the red corner is President Trump on NBC at seven o'clock and in the Blue corner, former Vice President Biden on a B C. I'm joined now by San Antonio. First news National correspondent Michael Bauer. Michael tell me, Is it just me, or is this just silly because it appears that it wouldn't be productive for either. No, You're absolutely right. This is not productive and by the way, not productive for anybody who's on the fence about their voting right now, either who I don't know, maybe wanted to see a couple of candidates who were going to try to challenge one another. Instead. We're getting another 90 minute town hall from both of them, which we've already seen. We've been there. We've done that. So it doesn't make any sense. And at the end of the day, you want to talk about a waste of time. I'm going to be watching one of these 90 minute town hall live while DVR ing the other one and immediately after the first one's done, Go and Watch the second one. That's 180 minutes. You want to talk about a waste of time? You could completely make that work together. We're in essence, looking at what the virtual debate was gonna look like anyways, just on different networks here, So it does seem like a waste of time. But as you aptly pointed out, this all comes from The definition of President Trump's positive Corona virus test that we could not clearly defined as Faras when the last negative test was before positive one, which may have allowed for an actual debate between these two D'oh than the virtual debate the president shut down then, when they canceled it, Joe Biden went over to ABC, and they gave him a town hall in the last 48 hours. NBC decided to do the same thing for President Trump at the same exact time, and that's why there's a huge backlash against NBC. Right now. They're the ones forcing this on us at the time when Joe Biden has got his town hall so you could have adjusted it by an hour earlier later, or you could have done it on a different day. But you decided with the exact same day because you wanted to make this about ratings. Absolutely And clearly and frankly, all we're going to know maybe the 1st 10 minutes, Charlie, and I think that's being optimistic. You'll have some answers for news stories in the headline like The Post Story about charisma for Joe Biden. Whether or not he gets a question on that will probably happen in the 1st 10 minutes. Trump on whether or not they kept secrets from the American public in regards to Cove it while warning donors over the Republican side, the things we're going to get bad that might be asked in the 1st 10 minutes outside of that, it's going to be everything we already know from a platform standpoints. There's nothing new to see there. And at the end of this, if this comes down to who had the higher ratings, that's who we should look at his winning this particular round of the presidential candidacy. That will be so 2020 for people who don't know the moderates. Savannah Guthrie, the moderator in Miami for Trump, George Stephanopoulos, the moderator in Philadelphia. For Biden. Town Halls are the questions Don't come from the moderator. Correct. They come from the audience. Yeah, you might remember about a month ago, President Trump had one while he was in Philadelphia with George Stephanopoulos. And you have people that were there in the hall that we're at least at least told everybody that they were independent voters who hadn't made a decision on who they were voting for. Yet Yet at that time, President Trump still managed to interrupt those people who are asking the questions on the people who left that hole so that they left feeling that President Trump I had both its light to them on a couple of different occasions, so it didn't necessarily go well for him. He has a great history with the town hall format himself. It will be interesting to see how that plays out here. But you're right. This is all whether or not the questions are theirs themselves. That they've written up or whether it was handed to them on the way up to the microphone is unclear, but it will be asked by the people of the audience. Well, now that we know the sacrifice that you're making, Michael the fact that you're going to watch one DVR the other one haven't decided which one you're going to watch. In which one you're gonna DVR. It will be a coin toss three shots of tequila that I'm looking at that tonight. Charlie

Contact tracing, temperature checks and masks: airline industry outlines new norms

"Now to the high anxiety in the airline industry and the devastating prediction today. From the CEO of Boeing Tom Costello calling the threat to the airline industry. Grave the prediction from Boeing. Co Two savannah. Guthrie today sent shockwaves through Wall Street and airline offices. You think there might be a major. Us carrier that just has to go out of business. Well it's I don't WanNa get a t to predictive on that subject but yes most likely you know something will happen. When September comes around Dave Calhoun did not say which airlines are most at risk but with few exceptions every airline is flying less than ten percent full on September thirtieth. The federal government's Bailout. Money comes to an end. Airlines are already warning that as many as one hundred thousand employees could be laid off if passengers don't return in large numbers. You don't know who has what how clean things have been at least on the plane. Flying in a covert and post covert world expect airline and airport facemask requirements six feet of separation while lining up airport health screenings. A new scanner checks for elevated body temperatures at Paine field in Washington state. Now three hundred forty-six airports nationwide are calling on the TSA to check every passengers temperature at security the TSA so far not embracing the idea. We have to make certain that those who choose to travel by air make it through the airport and feel as though they are as safe as they were if they were in their own home. "For America. Buck Sexton is back. Why didn't you walk away? Now, I wish I would have walked away. I didn't want to be disrespectful to Mr. Phillips and walk away. If he was trying to talk to me, what do you think that looks like I see it as a smile saying that this is the best you're going to get out of me, you won't get any further reaction of aggression. And I'm willing to stand here as long as you want to hit this German my face. There's something aggressive about standing there. Standing your ground both strategic ground, and it was like a staredown. What do you think of that? Now when you think about that moment. Oh, I would say, sir. Phillips, head is right to come up to me. I had my right to say there. Our school was Leonard by the African Americans who had caught us all sorts of things. Savannah Guthrie is a classic mainstream media hack. Nothing. You know, she looks the part. She sounds the part. She's played the game at NBC or whatever. And now, this is somebody that we're supposed to take seriously for reasons. I don't know doesn't have any expertise. Anything wasn't a great wasn't a great journalist and a newspaper doesn't right doesn't, you know? Just she's a she's a TV presenter, basically, an actor. And she obviously takes the most popular center view. She can on any issue. Always. Right. And I've seen enough of her stuff to know. This is your stick. It's it's like the Matt Lauer schtick who she used to obviously work with NBC. This is what these broadcast news hosts do they try to find a way to seem like they're being fair. But it's always always a little skewed isn't it to the other side always pretty clear that they're really not interested in being down the middle. And you saw that in this in this exchange. I mean, she's saying there's something aggressive about standing your ground. Why is that aggressive if somebody walks over to you, which is what Phillips did remember this is Nixon who is coming in highschool student who was captured in the most clear footage of of him is a close where he's with this guy. Phillips. Why is Nick Sam have is he supposed to run away because guy walks over to him and starts banging drums face. That's so it's so it's not isn't that an interesting way to think about this the way that savannah Guthrie frames this first of all she's talking to a fifteen year old kid gave now doing a national news interview. And and she she's don't aggressive for you to stand there. Now, I think people would would argue that it's it's insane to think that he's supposed to run away. He didn't mean this man any harm. He wasn't he aggressively did the guy walked up to him drama displays and he just looked at him aggressive. You might say it's defensive which I think is understandable in the circumstances. But to suggest that there was an aggression in this. It's it's bizarre. Really? I think it's a very strange thing for Guthrie to ask him. But you understand she's she's trying to make sure that her mostly live audience thinks that she's representing their view of how he should be questioned. Well, I wanna know when Phillips is going to be asked any questions, and I wanted to win the black Israelites who were present will be asked questions. Where's the oppo research on them? When when do journalists ask the adults, including the adults who were yelling anti gay slurs racist slurs threatening the students and just generally acting like maniacs. And everyone knows that the black Israelites act this way, I've I have heard the black Israelites up close and personal. Have you ever? Have you ever heard them Brandon? I'm assuming probably many times just in the video store. So you've heard them, right? Yeah. On the street in New York there they sit in Times Square, and they yell crazy things that people really belligerent nasty things. So wind, but when do they have to answer any questions about their conduct? Why do we take this position Wisey the assumption automatically that it is, you know, Nick, San men's issues his problem that he has to be the one to deal with this who's the fifteen year old kid, but there's there's more of this. Now, there's more of this. Where Guthrie just makes it quite clear as well that you know, there there's some of the responsibility here is just the Trump support that's part of this play three. They weren't wearing that hat. This might not have happened or it might have been different. That's possible. But.

"Priority. They would love to talk to people in the state of Utah about your Senator Mitt Romney. But it is Nancy Pelosi day if you've noticed the media, and you've noticed the quivers and Denise shaking and brow. Wiping in the sudden fits of excitement is Nancy Pelosi is once again to be speaker of the house they've invited. People Nancy Pelosi day, bring the kids. Well, you know, the ones that are alive and have survived et cetera being them, we'll have a barbecue of kind of a stem grown fake meat products grown in a laboratory kind of soy tasting tastes a little bit like chicken, but the rubber variety and we're going to celebrate America. Nancy Pelosi's America well to be precise. Now in North America. We don't want to get to jingoistic on Nancy Pelosi day or. As they've now issued a correction really what we ought to look at is the land mass north of South America that'll be our celebration for the day, the north bland mass north of South America. So all of this around the woman whose daughter now, I don't I'm as I'm a father, and I don't know that this would be the praise at want for my daughter, and maybe you, parents, etc. Maybe give your feedback on this. I have thought long and hard about on the day that I depart this earth, hopefully to go to the Lord I envisioned being there with my daughter, and my wife is a hold my hand. And they say goodbye to me, and I have not envisioned looking at my daughter and having her say dad, I've always admired about you that you will cut people's heads off. And they will not know they're bleeding that has not been my aspiration as a father. But that is in fact, what Nancy Pelosi's daughter has says about her she'll cut your head off before, you know, you're bleeding that's high praise from daughter, but isn't that divisive? And what does this mean, by the way for Mitch McConnell and President Obama if? If you were to advise them, what would you be telling them to do because there's some realities in the operating realities is now with the house of representatives run by the cold hearted hands of Nancy Pelosi cut your head off before you're bleeding. Are there deals to be made? Is there anything that we should do or could do in terms of dealmaking? They don't tend to give the president any form of victory as it relates to a wall. That's very very clear and the sticking point for them. It's nothing to do with money. We all know that I've seen the pieces. Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. Fiscal restraint pay as you go as nothing to do with that. The fact of the matter is this would be very much as a listener to my local show said like Chuck Schumer having a grand a thousand bucks in his pocket, and you ask him for something like a buck fifty to go get a Cup of coffee or a couple of bucks for a Cup of coffee. None of its financial, and they all know that. But the operating reality for Nancy Pelosi something else altogether. She is being flanked on her left in. This is interesting. So you have the fake socialist who's going to go up against the other fake socialist, one of them young and a frac- Brooklyn one of them old am demonstrably corrupt. It's Alexandria or cost you TEZ going up against Nancy Pelosi Cortez's says that she is not going to bow down first round. She's gonna take what is this symbolic vote against Nancy Pelosi and on something this actually decent pays you. Go. Your pays you go legislation. Simply means you gotta cut a little bit to spend a little bit. And it is a sign of the times that in the democrat party. You are able to now watch this young upstart pretend Brooklyn, I her dad was actually the CEO is on architecture company was an architect NCO. So the hardscrabble upbringing head to go down and be a bartender to make ends meet that didn't happen quite as much as she'd like you to know. But Nancy Pelosi now has to deal with this left. Flank and. Folks are getting upset. They're getting concerned kid we deal with Nancy Pelosi. Well, let's take some examples from history we've dealt with it before I was part of a team who ran against her. We ran the fire Nancy Pelosi campaign, and I got to confront her staff when we sent them fleeing from the internet that campaign was so successful because she had so unlikable I'll tell you a little inside information out of Washington DC, I chatted with a congresswoman who was on the floor. When Nancy Pelosi was voting for an abortion Bill. Do you did standing in the wings getting ready to vote for more money for abortions? She was feverishly crossing herself. Now, I'm not anybody's judge professor, a priest. But I don't know that crossing yourself feverishly vote for more abortions is the way to go. But the media wiping their brow fits of heavy breathing. Unable to control their thoughts as they envision of Pelosi. Congress. On NBC is it Samantha gun Guthrie or savannah Guthrie? I don't have a TV. So I don't know. So rely on us. Samantha or savannah, savannah Guthrie savannah Guthrie on ABC talking to Nancy Pelosi. NBC you're probably the most powerful women in government. Pelosi says in the United States. Yes, got three. Yes policy. That's true. Guthrie? Do you think about that? And think about what it means. Do you think about that as a personal accomplishment and Pelosi sits back and triangulate and calculates and things. And no, I think of it as responsibility, I don't think of it as an accomplishment, I think of it as a real responsibility. And how we go forward, and what that means in terms of the lives of American working families, and that's more. This doesn't break a glass ceiling. This is breaking a marble ceiling in the Capitol Hill, the United States. No, I don't think it's quite that momentous side note true or false. This is the first congress in which a woman will be seated who married her brother and lived with him for eight years this false question. And if that's true, how is that not made the media? And if that's true is Nancy Pelosi. You're going to be asked about that. Now in a go forward basis. What you wanna do? Well, look number one is stopped the wall because it is. Core promise of the president United States. It is what he ran upon when he came down the stairs. That's what drew the attention. He stepped on a line and stepped on a button that none of the other Republican candidates would ever do. We'll talk later in the show about professional Republicans ye- what that means to me. It means people who if you were to ask them. What do you do for a living say, well, I Republican what's that mean? Well, that's that's what I do. I republican. So what are your principles? Well, it's about Republican. Well, you conservative. Well, if that's if it's say Republican. Yeah. If it's something else, I'm a Republican Trump has been an antidote to that to professional republicanism. And there are in Washington DC little tiny whispers that this Mitt Romney thing. It's time to go. Right ahead and Nancy Pelosi to put in the minds of the American people this choice, but Pelosi intens investigations Pelosi intends shutdowns of the Trump agenda Pelosi intends to do what she can to try to get a personal attack levied against her by the president she intends to drive or draw him out that way and in terms of policy. Does it matter or does it Mitch McConnell sometimes has in his heart? This knee. The American people she made rich cross out on edge Pelosi. We things we can do to move forward. But they're always deals that we ended up not liking, for instance, so-called criminal Justice reform, Bill not high in that. I know the president signed it. Maybe he sees things in it. I don't see I think we're letting the few too many people out of jail, but he had the details. I didn't have the full details. But it ends up being these things that if Nancy Pelosi Mitch McConnell get together. Then we got to turn to the president. So what do you do in that place? If you're advising how do you advise the president to proceed and the media can't hide themselves CNN CNN on their front page. I took screen shot of the graphic Trump's presidency is about to totally change. He's going to face a new level of opposition. He hasn't yet seen. So we have not seen opposition this president who has been opposed more than any president in history has not seen opposition. I failed to believe that another thing. The Democrats intend to do is go after the tax. Returns to the professional Republicans. Some of you want to see the president's tax returns. I happen if they deal. Let's let's go full transparency. Let's do that such repression. Republicans are you afraid to come back and say, oh transparency. That's what you want to tell you. What why don't we do something? We can do right now today. This instant why don't we go ahead and release all the details and all the names on the congressional sexual abuse slush fund? Why don't you? Give us the details on that all of the abusers. What they're accused of. And how much money we spent because all that takes is a signature from Nancy Pelosi since we're gonna go full transparency and wall work in the debate this Bill about tax returns and ten years of prior tax returns. Why don't we do something else? You can all do. What are we disclose? The details of the work your family members have done where they've drawn down a couple hundred grand on your packs running a couple hundred granted per year or three hundred grand per year. Why don't we see an accounting of the work? They actually delivered to these donor. Owners. Why don't we get that transparent? And while we're talking about transparency. Why don't we go ahead and take through some of the records of the attendance of board meeting you and your family have had were you suddenly ended up on the boards of companies and industries about which, you know, little let's have a look at datas the American people. Let's go full transparency. And let's also do this. Why don't we go ahead and release all in any reports on Russia in how the investigation went about? Why don't we go ahead and declassify any and all of this information since you would like to go full transparency aimed at one guy. This is something I'd love to see the profession Republicans. Those are the people who Republican for a living stand up and say we're ready to play the transparency game in the Romney timing. Right next door to Pelosi taking a seat. Look, I can believe that mitt is a good guy in his personal life. And I know this in my judgment. He's a cardboard cutout of a man. He's kind of our Hillary Clinton in a way, he's not corrupt. But I don't think he exists because he's really just a walking amalgamation of the polls Stott Herman in for Rush Limbaugh on the EIB network will get back into your calls. Being interviewed so you can tell in that moment that Omarosa is. Savannah Guthrie is getting under Omarosa, skin oh. Yeah and. Let Omarosa is going to do, the same thing she always does and try to take back. The narrative Yeah I think. You made this point off the air in it is so absolutely true she's a reality television. Star and. She can she conducted herself in that interview with savannah. Guthrie as though she was a reality television star yeah That entire I don't know if you've, got a chance to see she. Was also on meet the press on Sunday because she she rewarded this. This woman is I mean surprise yeah nobody is surprised Omarosa recorded conversations with the. President United States, with the chief of staff and presumably all sorts of people she was. Like the producer and director of a reality show starring herself now everybody is doing, this, thing and by everybody I mean all and we don't you know this we don't. Get into politics so we don't even have to get there but you guys were going to talk a little bit about it because I. Mean She's a celebrity the president has a celebrity you can't. Not talk about it because this is some stuff so think, about it you've. Got this woman, who has made. A, name for herself. Being a bitch I'm just gonna, say that's her schtick yeah and she, and where is it like a. Badge honor to think that she was going to behave in any way. Other than just presumes that you think I'm an idiot or that anybody involved with. Her or viewing. Her is an idiot and what I love is that in the last, you know since the news broke that she was writing a book wash it gosh Learning on the president of the United, States that, bitch These everybody's Pearl clutching is just delightful to watch because what do you expect? This woman is a dumpster fire in her own right and I think that she is getting unnecessarily people attack, her in a way, that, they're not attacking other people and it's only because well I think there's, a number reasons we're not going to get into them but I think one. Of them is because, of her role on the apprentice, so what I mean the president United States like like she's just he with the Server But people get all up in arms about her and it's like you guys That's her job her job she was only there to be drama somebody she's. Now she did exactly what? We what we should have expected, her to do what did my. Angelou say and then Oprah said it again you said, my Angelou said it and then, sometimes Elizabeth reset that because they say it somebody shows you who they are believe them and all we, saw of Omarosa until she was appointed to this position, was reality show star who was a pain in the butt reality show. Star who was a pain in the butt by the way she was on Oh gosh the show that. I loved on VH one the surreal life she was, on that show she was rabble, rouser was on celebrity big brother and I say I did not watch her when she was on apprentice, or on that other show but I watched a little, bit of when she was on celebrity big brother and I've watched her In the fall like in the last few days with this. Whole fallout in talk about her book and I'm like I think she's playing, a wonderful game absence I'm sorry, but. I think that she? Is beating people at their very own game and to like sort of just write her off as like oh she's just a celebrity whatever what was her boss what's the people. That are around her that are like putting knives. In her back are people that are just. Ticked they're checked that they didn't play, the game that she. Played she because look what she did for herself. You you can judge it morally go for it we can talk about that. For days, but nobody's gonna listen she's a master manipulator and that. Will, not change and that's how she's made her entire career. And she's still doing it now there's I what I'm saying is. There's an evil genius to it yeah and I, don't think she's like the worst person ever you'll see all these people sort of trying to tear, her down you don't have to like be friends with her but I think she. Survived and she, took an opportunity made the most of it And now she's gonna make some money I'm just saying you don't have to judge You can judge her, but don't judge her for something you're. Not judging other people for player the game Who said that my Angela yes that's actually actually I think it was Oprah okay when we, come back. Elizabeth Ries is bringing all the dirt from Hollywood with. A dirt alert on mytalk one zero seven one It's project down, and dirty reveal week here on mytalk. One zero seven? One?
