"I use us. Pretty highly regarded for a little while naseem barn and ultimately found his way to the middle east where east statesman. And then you have a horse. That won a group one on the turf last year in a in england in oxygen so certainly a very fascinating raise but like i said. I'm thinking of different japanese jack. I'm gonna just a horse. That certain he's been unexposed to the highest level will come a group three win in japan in december. That was very very impressive. Run in my is just one. Four of his last six. He really looks sprinting. Dirk started his career on the turf. Which would which makes sense because he's buyer favorite jap easter crown winner. Dan was a group stakes winner on the on the on the turf but at the same time there is pedigree was gone west on the downside and all that to sunday silence on the side so it makes sense white likes the dirty took him a while to figure out about. That's what he was good at. He then really like. I said one did serve which we don't only isn't really concerned the after raise you know when we're talking about derby's but he's not always ran his best races going a left-handed turn Independent obviously they have their different track configurations than they have racist that are off wising clockwise and his best races have always come going going right hand at the opposite of what we're used to here in the us so that'll be interesting to see how he runs. He's also very talented. This is a very different track to be running at In saudi arabia. So i i don't think he's too much of a problem. You worked to run. Well i can certainly see that as an excuse on is also very quick a lot good gates beat in my also you know you might be the thorny inside of mature sky this year but i think he's very talented. He's won five of his eight. Starts going six furlongs team so lots of good reasons to like just insisted certainly going to be a big task. Considering he's never been exposed to these levels like liking the terrace cotton's ran against some of the world's best sprinters on multiple occasions and now the last race we're gonna talk about is obviously the big one the twenty million dollar Saudi cup and you know. I'm going to start off by saying this. I tried to look you know. Look towards the some of the other international horses in here you know just to give them some strong considerations but it really just looks like this is going to be once again you know. The americans dominated it last year. Running three of the top four spots In last year saudi cup and. i think that this is going to be a repeat of the two best horses in the race are americans. And i think you're gonna see one of the other. Three ron a top four efforts and you know for that reason. It's basically at least for me. It was pick your your favorite of the americans and It's very very hard to go against either charlatan or knicks go. I know eric from from talking to him pre show. He's going to try to do it. I'm not going to. I'm going to go with charlotte in the horseshoe. I think has been the most impressive Of the to you know. Obviously it's very risky to say that with next. Go given what he's done. Breeders cup pegasus world cup but You know looking at charlotte. and he's just so untapped and not to say that. Nikko doesn't have the ability to continue to run as well as he's been able to do but you look at charlotte and he's never been beaten across the wire interests. He does have the medication disqualification. But you know four starts four wins. All of them had been reasonably impressive And you know. I think that i would generally give him the edge. Know we're talking about a potential Speed with him and knicks go which is something that could be on the horizon but also it's not out of the question for him to let nikko go out for a little bit sit behind him and then be able to pick up the peace Not necessarily pick up the pieces. Because that gives it the wrong characterization but let next go do his thing for a little bit and still be able to to run just fine and get the job done there so i think that's what he's gonna do You know given that he is coming out of a very impressive Seven along race And he has been a winner at the mylan and distance I think that you know the two favourite charlatan is the one that i trust the most and i'm going to be picking him here and i can't blame you in in all honesty our to pick between the two too heavy favorite charlotte in next hour. Detroit as well Because it seems like he's always you know he's he's done best. Were going that those one term races. Now who's impressive. He was able to show. We can sit off. The pacing doesn't need to be on the lead. You let nashville. You know you know fly on front end saddling th off of him and blue buying what he needed so he's certainly going to be able to do that And for me. I also america all the way i think Now i'm not only i mean it is a little bit of patriotism but it's also you know what we have the best horse in the world again deny that some of these other horse are not that great so for me it was it was bombs away. I mean i just to moment. I looked. cpi's taught in this race. I feel like i. I really liked it and then i just. I didn't want to get away from him. So he was just a a gut instinct load for sightseeing for this reason for neon get abused. Wis sleepy is todd in this spot. It's obviously risks. You know he didn't run the grace. The the us ten links fine exco but hey you also to close it. At gulfstream in closing gulfstream is not an easy she he still came on and ran a really good forced from way out of the one for that picked up back to back wounded term. Mild in eight. It must be you know finds a national rate of the only opportunity. He's to get distance. He really likes but also around one turn when she really likes so all of that adds look at things he also has been able to come from off the pace in his last. Three races really viciously. There's going to be your lot of speed in this racing this attract that we saw last year with midnight these certainly does cater to horses from off the pace whether that the winning or running really well underneath so i really like that. I am not concerned. By the fact he is a local writer in the saddle for this race. It's it's more of just a concern. it's it's more just a okay. Well i can look at it from the sense. He doesn't know the horse. He isn't really acquainted with that but at the same time he writes at this track. You know radio so he knows it better than everyone else so doesn't know the horses. Well yeah but he he knows the track and i think that by via being advantage in that sense so bombs away the big one with sleepy. Todd and you know. Obviously we're gonna. I like the americans. Most looking at some the europeans are i'll just mention to uneven not even europeans. I should say non local or american horses. Mishrif was really good second last year in the saudi derby Closed really low. He also coming off a layoff and he also didn't seem like really get over the over the well. You know it's clear that turf is preferred surface. I think a lot of people are gonna try to fall into that trap. I'm gonna go against him and then military laws horse a writing in terms of to run really well he. He was really good last year early on he lost have been battle in one of the action challenges but he's been very consistent in his career In in dubai then he wanted for strategy al-maktoum challenge this year. Filing third quarters of very nice win The form is strong. Second round of the matching challenge won by the wholesale is third in that race so it keeps carrying great form needed. very talented. might be one that that runs out least underneath. I don't think anybody any of the americans This time route and with all that being mentioned. That's it for this week's episode against a very long episodes but a lot of stuff to get to We will be back next weekend. with recapping everything. That happens this weekend at the saudi cup and then we will have some very serious kentucky. Derby points action obviously will have the fountain of youth than those steaks down at gulfstream. Hopefully the weather is going to be friendly in arkansas and the southwest is not going to have to be canceled for third straight week But as that. We also have the the new edition to the point season this year. Which is the john battaglia turf way. So that's also an interesting race in its own right so we will have all that next week and good luck if you do this and we will see you next week. Have a good one..

"Soft whisper is one hundred percent the most impressive horse in the race based on her her body of work. You know you look at the uae. One thousand guineas. That was a very very very impressive performance for her and the horses sheep eat second just came back to win the uae. Folks are so you know if a horse who she beat by the amount of links that cheap by in that you a one thousand guineas and if you haven't seen that race i highly advise the go take a look at it because it definitely was a very very impressive reason. I think that you know if you see what that horse was able to do in the uae oaks given the fact that she was beaten by this much then. I think that that really does set a good pace ford. Four soft whisper There are a couple other horses in here that i did give some consideration to The horse who won the trial for the two thousand guineas i e guineas was was one that i did consider as well as they did. Give cowans some thought but As i looked at it more cowan just seems like He's going to be this year's radiates. Yeah i agree. Cowan does seen of its second rate in this field. He's not that he definitely can't see that he's been running some incredibly strong racist but at the same time you gotta look at. Who's been running. I know we did you know. Give senior boost or his his predator earlier in the show but the horses yoyo handle counters findings before mile cattle ridden. Same the smarty jones and the horses behind cowan in both of those races not too not too highly regarded On the derby trailer in stakes races in general citing talents. A safe bet against In i wanted to go golfing industries but there was a horse i liked better and that was mexico who acted jewish slight into the runner up in the uae. Two thousand guineas. He's won back to back races as i start in in in the uae was at. W i am. It was flat race but he's really improved With his runs at me don in with a little bit more distance. I've been really impressed with them. Consecutively you a two thousand guineas came to willie was a second beaten a neck by rebels romance while. I think it's going to be the likely second choice behind. Soft whisper But ruggles romance. I think he's i. I really had a lot of hope for rebels romance. I thought he was going to be pretty good on the on the derby trail through don but that last race clearly was a step back from his bronze In in on the all weather. So that's why. I'm going against them to lebron a really did second to him that day and then nasa killing his first start against stage company. That really. good second to to weep. So mexico's gonna run a good race. I really liked wonder mile form. He obviously loves the dirt And i just. I have a lot of faith in. He's really trying in the right direction. Software spruce doing pretty cool that might smith rise also. I thought that was very interesting. That he picked up the mount over. I know they have some some riders there right now that are going to be writing this weekend for four hundred dollars a net that you're looking for for this for this race so of very interesting to see mike smith on there but also kind of shows the confidence of the connections in this philly She beat nas. nasa is a name. We're going to hear in this country you know. While while he gets the chance to mention she was incredibly good in the u. e. yolks today. She was good when she was beaten. Set on links after flew the brain in the in the thousand guineas soap for software to have handled her. The way she did Certainly goes a long way. But i do just want to try and beat her Health the best horse to do it. And the next we're gonna move onto is the saudi sprint This is a a race that again is very wide open. I don't really think there's many horses that you can look at and save one hundred percent. There's a strong favorite And for that reason this is also the first race where i get the opportunity to not pick a godolphin horse. Even though there wasn't a godolphin horse in the race so You know not really much of a pat on the back myself there. But the horse that i went to was matera sky a who does have a lot of consistency throughout his career. When he's been running in japan you see some good races. He want he want a steak latte in his last. Start on november. Third normally layoff would concern me but You think back to last year He did run poorly in the breeders cup but off of the same lay off that he was coming off of from the breeders cup to the saudi sprint last year. he ran second in this reason realistically. I think the only reason you ran second last year was because he got into a speed duel with imperial hint. Early in new york central was able to run him down. I imperial hints not year so For that reason You know the left doesn't concern me. And i think he's going to be able to to hold on because he doesn't have to go through that much of a speed duel as he was able to do as he had to do last year. And you're looking some of his other middle eastern runs. He was second in the dubai. Golden checking in two thousand nine hundred nine matching. If it had been run last year he probably would have run pretty well in it as well so he does tend to do well when he comes over to the middle east. That's something that i like to see. In addition to the fact that you know he does have the consistency. When he's running in japan and i'm going to go with a different. Japanese forces isn't a weird race in the sense that it sprint races. Anywhere on the dirt. It's america america marylanders. Don't ever here. They're all either at home doing their thing. They're running in the in the golden shaheen. I may don nets so. It's interesting in that sense but that does give us the opportunity to look at some of these other horses like the japanese horses. I have new york central the defending champion. Who i think's could probably go to findmassmoney. Hanson and an expat. In switzerland switzerland was a newark. Central of former staff did more so switzerland..

japan mike smith two thousand last year One thousand guineas one thousand guineas switzerland one hundred percent Hanson november second rate two thousand guineas new york central first race today dubai Four soft whisper second choice lebron japanese

"Of and that's why i didn't picker in this year santa monica but obviously very longer. This was an impressive win She's bending consistent in her career you know. And she's had her. Her issue was d- queued for my believable placing effort. Tell margus dumber because of Baffert positive but now she's one three or for last four barron square or running. The was good given the circumstances in that very quick pace so she's certainly coming coming along. Wellness was by far her best career race. But it's gonna be interesting to see how sheet there's against the rest of the country. Obviously feeling her tradition is not in a strong police right now on they're not many greek phillies ramirez. Out there that that that v is moldy saw at the end of last year in billionaire sprinters senior. Now with a couple of those courses. Retiring so i think that she's going to have a chance to be competitive. Because the lack of talent i also think that her stablemates that ran second third or are pretty. Good too gold principle. You'll shoes second best on the day but she ran just fine. She's been hard knocker to hear who was worcester. is you know kind of. It's the same bill there so those are three really good phillies. In my opinion baffert certainly had a good hold on this division. Commune still around As for excuses hans low continues to be a. You know a pain in the side of of everybody. That has to pick her because she just you know. She's lost all sense of consistency. For fair maiden i do think she cheated unbalanced backwardness. The pace wasn't really. You know hot for her. That speed held up pretty strong and she was also inside. She looked uncomfortable. Wasn't able to get the trip. She got in the la brea last announce. Oh you know look for fair made into bounce back just find what may not be a win but she certainly going to be up in price. Next time she runs in as there's another pace meltdown certainly expected to be running. Wherever that may be. And the last race we're going to recap from last week and is also another kentucky derby points race This is. I actually did forget about this earlier when i talked about the the risen star stakes. Because i did think that that was the only point that we were recapping but i did Slipped my mind with the the rail derby than this also. This race also carries a winning. You're in for the preakness So markdown rob bauer As a horse who will be on his way to the preakness assuming everything goes well with him For the third saturday in may but you know looking at this fairly impressive win for him you know obviously not something that you look at him and say he's going to be a kentucky derby winner over but like i said fairly impressive for The circumstances he was coming from from out of it and he was able to run by. Giovanni co who. Eric talked to her last week and she has a lot of consistency with her. She's probably going to be a horse. Who who does some nice things in some grass stakes for three year olds definitely going on Further into the year. But you know looking with rob our Santa anita may lighten up a little bit with The fact that hot rod. Charlie's going to louisiana louisiana derby and concert. Tour is headed arkansas for the rebel stakes And presumably after the arkansas diary so santa anita did get a little bit later for him. Obviously he's going to have to compete with the two other baffert horses who remain medina's spirit and life is good but he's definitely a horse that you know he's run second Integrated one before That was behind. Get her number in the American pharaoh stakes so. He's shown the ability to run run well in in grade one. So i imagine that you know whether or not he waits the santa anita derby or is able to turn it back around and get get in for the san felipe bay. He's definitely a horse that you'll be able to consider a heavily towards the kentucky derby. He's got the he's got the ten points now he did have a couple of points Coming out of the american pharaoh but more points on the line so Definitely does not take it up as much as it would have to get him to the kentucky. Derby obviously wasn't a an exceptional. Ed handed called good fields on the derby trail. Because philly was kerr for us it was you know some some plotters from student bred horses southern california. It was just plain not good in terms of Getting your idea how he fits under betrayal but we saw what he last year. He ran really well. New american cheryl iran. a sneaky. Good race is really hate. When people use that term but he did he ran sneaky. Good race in the innovators to the last year. with his You know he was beaten a lot so we certainly know can probably hang with these horses and this was digitally impressive when he came from over ten legs out to win. This from last was a goal timed in a horse. This really cold himself through there it was. It was clear he was the best horse on the day even though he only win by a neck I i'm trying to get back on the dirt. I think no matter what he's going to be a horse at vets. You know getting points. Craton top threes Whether that'll be enough to make the derby whether that'll be enough to your new the connections competence tune for running in the derby. Show you acquire points. I don't really know that remains to be seen at the end of the day. He is closer so getting closer. No matter how good you are you're always going to be a little bit pace dependent into that always you know knocks you down in my book a little. I think he's talented. Horace but i think that it. Running style certainly prohibits it from being a atop horse on derby trail on because because he just is always going to have a lot to overcome. And then you know hypothetically you know two and a half months down the road and makes the derby. He's going to be having passed. Nineteen hundred horses to to win the race. So lots of those factors Roure.

Eric Roure Nineteen hundred horses last week ten points Ed Horace san felipe bay Craton Charlie philly three year Santa anita santa anita southern california Giovanni third saturday santa anita derby two and a half months arkansas

"Three in the in louisiana good horses on the planet simple dell like to run the all like to be consistent and none of none of the three of ran a batteries in their career. You know win lose or draw even bourbon when he was being too submission in the champagne last year so just tons of talent throughout man. Loon was really good. I didn't think he had. That animated think the distance at all and he. He obviously proved me wrong there and it's very interesting for for for mandolin if any is his pedigrees a little bit. More turkey You know if they can do anything. and then the the damn side you know damn by empire nature but she ran off all races over in ireland or she she did Run some races at a mile and a quarter but wasn't very effective in those races. So it's very interesting to me that he's still able to stretch stretch out to this distance and to me. I think he probably get them to get on my own. A quarter just fine based off this runoff physically. Actually if i'm gonna make a comparison reminds me a lot of todd pletcher audible from a couple of years ago. Same same sire there so Audible himself was pretty good at getting ten for long so mandolin. We're forecasting for the for the louisiana derby that's an extra sixteen mile and three sixteenths. I think you'll handle that. Finding proxy is gonna do great stretching. Bourbon i'm a little skeptical on his. His family is never done to raise the longer. They've gone seems like this might be around his limit which might be the explanation for for why he kinda got tired down the lane so if i was you know to rank them coming out of it i would go balloon proxy mnay bourbon and one other horse in the the springboard mile winner iran. Really good given that he had to close. He was way too far back in first place. An e finished up really strongly. If you look at the ground he was able to make up You know down the stretch discussion about final sixteen. I i really liked i. I thought it was good. I think he needs to get away from louisiana. He can use to go her. You know what i don't really know. These connections are kind of You know there's there's about a million there's you know there's an hour long story on why these connections can't running at their home tracks in new mexico right now but we're ever unit goes long as it's not as long as it's not a fairgrounds. I think he's the one that you you have to consider for his next career. Prep ezekie shown yesterday. He just didn't get the chance to you. Know showed up at a full level in louisiana derby. But i do really think that this earned the starts me and i do think that this risen star is going to be a productive for the louisiana derby and ford on history trail. And now the the next race of we're going to move onto the santa monica stakes. This is not a very enjoyable race for us to go back and look at but You know. I was saying this to eric and we said this before when a both of us have completely missed on races before. This is a big accountability. Show we believe in having accountability One were wrong so we're going to have accountability for this. So neither of us believe that the baffert top three was going to none. None of those three. We thought were going to win this race. Not only did a one of them win baffert ran one three in this race. So just a nicer. Stick it to us For for saying that that wasn't going to happen but overall i was talking to eric about this beforehand. And i'm not really sure what i think whether i think too highly of the any of the the horses in this race. You know Eric will i'm sure highlight reasons About fair maiden that you know why. She ran as poorly as she did. Those reasons are definitely very valid. But you know talking about the top three winners not really sure how highly i hold any of them but at the same time The sprint division for the the phillies is not really. There's not really much there so you know. I guess for lack veteran. These are probably horses. That are definitely going to pop up in races Further on down the road. I'm not sure if we see any of these horses. Go over to keeneland for the madison in april. That's obviously two months away so remains to be seen whether or not that happens with them. But you know just for for this. I wasn't really overly impressed by any of them. But you know the winner mirny Did get it done nicely. Visually she was the longest price of the three gets her. I believe this is her first win. Integrated steaks. I could be wrong in that. But i do believe that how this is needs. I graded stakes win again. Don't really think too highly of any of the horses coming out of here. Hard not to love I didn't think that she was going to run a huge race in here but she definitely was a disappointment. She's shown an ability to run a lot better than this so You know. I guess it's a case of her. Best razor definitely behind her. Yeah in jack. Jesse were correct. This was miniskirted stakes when because it was american. Feroz i American graded stakes on the dirt on. You've had his grade one winner. In harper slow group one winners in europe on the grassi's group group stakes winner in japan on the dirt. Visitors i in the us and conflict mirny to believe with this was the horse debt I believe i'd gone in entire week to sing. American was Everyone on you. And then she broker made by twelve or something at oakland on the dirt so i- fond memories of and that's why i didn't picker in this year santa monica but obviously very longer. This was an impressive win She's bending consistent in her career you know. And she's had her. Her issue was d- queued for my believable placing effort. Tell margus dumber because of Baffert positive but now she's one three or for last four barron.

"Welcome back to racing rundown episode number ninety six. Today we have a very packed show. The saudi cup is this week in the first of the the really big grade one races over really not just overseas but for the beginning of the year we got five american horses over there as well as some other talented forces from around the world as well as the other stakes on the undercard of that. We're gonna be talking about six of those races on the saudi cup saturday card. There's some good races that we won't be able to talk about due to time as well as picking up with the usual stuff that's going on here. Stakes cited a couple nice steaks once again. We do miss out on having the southwest due to weather down in arkansas. But that will hopefully next time. We'll be able to happen next week. We'll be able to have that race And finally get to see those three roads get their first start on the track. I'll also before we start off with the kickoff segment for this so we just want to announce it for the next couple of weeks There will be a change to the maiden watch segment. We're not actually going to be talking much about maiden winners on anymore. Unless there is a super impressive maiden winner that does warrant discussion. Because we've moved in toward the we moved in past maidens and now it's going to be allowance races and non graded and non points stakes races. That are the real focus. Go towards the kentucky derby so for the next couple of weeks we talk about horses at that level and for the first iteration of this Revised segment alternative to eric for that yen. Jeff said there's good good made in that that could possibly make a triple crown race for impact on on some regraded sale. Definitely talk about them but you know looking at last weekend. I was more impressed with a couple of horses That had already won their first races that we hadn't talked about on here and then There were any you know. Incredibly strong nagin winners either. So i felt like you had something we do. Especially because this. This could certainly have an impact on this year's kentucky derby trail. I'll start with the first horse. Coming from fairgrounds will odyssey recap fairgrounds in in their crazy Good card from this as we can but this horse actually didn't win in his allowance was second in it on. It was racy from that task. Saturday a two-to-one allowance race field with horses. You certainly are trying to improve their stock in potentially run interview. Prep next time like the louisiana derby or any other race that could be out there in the recent won't buy big lake. Big lake was actually be covered on the top day when he broke his baby son of american farrell who is a pretty good one he actually leading by six lengths when they came off deterrent only by half link. Because that's because the finished second was of course i really want to focus on. That is a tom. Inglis defeated to funeral broke horribly industries. He seems like he he has his head. You know don all the right places at the right time especially during his racist. So slow in. He was close from far back closing Wasn't overly easy at fairgrounds. This past weekend. Only a couple of horses were really able to to do it. Effectively of he. He came on really strong us about telling saturday bit at some points had a lot of ground throughout the only half like the be finished really really nicely You broke his maiden in his first. Start sprinting So obviously you know. He had ever excuse to not run. What would slow break. I to turn star. But he's doing really well In you doesn't remind you a lot of this horse but the progression. In in the fact that i know that thomas thomas can can not necessarily win a race like an allowance cannot win allowance and still have a worsen the derby a lone sailor from three years ago among the same weekend Finished second in an allowance race at the fairgrounds Trying to get to a derby points race. He ran second in that race was second best on. The david still found his way into the derby. Starting gate with his Prep races that followed in defeated defeated to me. Seems like a better horse Denman sailor at this point in their career. So for that reason i think he he could very well take that progression especially because he does have that really good closing cake if he breaks better. Who certainly Wins this race so to feeders. One to look forward to. I don't tell names did already mentioned the louisiana dirty as inex- spot for him if all goes well so certainly look look out for an in a month's time horse One stakes race to near a new york federal gander on on sunday at acworth. Fm nikki the vest. This was a very impressive. When one by was twelve lengths. Obviously he'd eat new york grads at snuff. Greatest thing in the world but us very impressive. He brian happiness front happy for segarra stakes winner. Pretty cool but also something something. I've been saying really since last fall is run. Happy run happy offspring because allow two people were were knocking. Run happy with all the ad campaigns and everything in fact he wasn't really producing early on in his in his career. At stud birdies babies. At least a lot of people were not making fun of him. And i saying I can't make that judgment because run. Happy himself took a while to find his find his footing. In look at ron hattie's pedigree a lot of those horses super saver desire. Is dan stein. It's all to to turn horses. The distance is gonna be unhappy is not going to be. He sprint sire. Babies are not going to be fast and they haven't been will nikki. The best has has proven that broke his maiden going vinyl audit up with another mile when he's gonna get better with more distance. Like i said he was only your bread company but he won't by twelve lengths is worst. That's gonna love getting out to to turn when he gets the chance in as long as he's sticking to the one turn mile should be fine. I think this is a horse. You know i am not gonna call him. You know a horse. You have to start considering on the derby trail. but he's going to be an open level Racehorse at grade state at the greatest stakes level in the near future sees very talented. He's obviously superior to new york reds enough. I think it's only a matter of before receiving against open company and at least running good races there. So now we're going to move onto recapping the stakes races from last week. And we're going to start up with the four from the fairgrounds in the first racer. We're going to get to Is arguably the biggest race of the weekend in terms of implications for this year It's kinda hard to say that On the same car that had a kentucky derby Fifty point preparation but the mineshaft featured the return of max field to the winter circle and a graded stakes race. The first time since last may not and this was pretty impressive win for him..

I just want to know that i'll ask you this two guys. What is it like to own a house. I live in los angeles. Unless you've got about a million and a half to your name. No that doesn't happen here. Well thankfully when you live out in the middle of nowhere like i do You don't have to have a million dollars. So that's that's positive. I like living in an apartment better if something breaks I just call a person and fix it and if the yard needs mode they mo- it so yeah. It's it's not a stressful. I now listen we. We are very lucky looking really nice house now. And it's listen it's overrated. Though i just be honest it's overrated. When we first moved to joplin we lived in a beautiful apartment complex. It had a pool and hot tub had a gym and had a movie theater room or it had storm shelter. You know it was great and then we moved off now so trust me. It's not it's not so bad magic. Don't don't don't don't be jealous. Best thing i saw today in this kind of goes along the jong lease are thought but farmer park starts tomorrow y'all remember fodder part that little track up in nebraska who carried the frigging sport for two and a half months last year. It was fun park. Will rogers and tampa bay downs in the middle of the week. Save in the freaking industry that episode of the magic. Mike show is the highest. Listen to show that we've done that wasn't about the derby or the breeders cup that is the highest numbers. Show that we've ever done. And i'm like i saw those numbers. That's how south right. Yeah it was. Yeah a it's a very stressful memory. But now that it all worked out. It's kind of a happy. So that's a crazy. You bring up the fact that i had just started working for you so literally a year ago. Today is when. I walked my boss's office and handed her my read printed off resignation letter that i had had typed for about a month. That's great so literally a year ago today. Because i've walked in. It was my six anniversary with the company and it was like congrats on six years. I said thanks. i'm gone. You text means here on coming to work for you as a great hurry up. There's something called it a pandemic happening. I'm not quite sure but hurry up. Come on over. Come right about it out yeah. It was stressful but anyway All right let's let's let's get into the show kind of what we're gonna do today. We're gonna preview the saudi cup and the this up and then now we're gonna do rapid-fire like we've been doing most exciting race Launch out of the week. And then you're you're lakhpat should up pick of the week or you know best best better. The week i guess is the correct way to say it. "All right here we go. We're back on racing down today. Episode Number Fifty. We got a lot of stuff to get to today. Three fifty three fifty point preparations on the docket for this week. In one hundred Fifty Kentucky Derby points up for grabs three more horses will be on their way to Churchill. Downs weekend. There's also a bunch of other stakes around the country this weekend most notably the grade. Santa Anita Handicap. So we'll get to all those book. I we gotta get to the action from this past weekend in Saudi Arabia and the conversation is coming up at. I've seen it come up in multiple different areas is about the winner of the Saudi. Maximum Security You know that is probably the most the Kentucky Derby incident and you know. I'M NOT GONNA come on here and you know say that the Saudi Cup has anything to do with the decision that was made at Churchill. Downs or anything like that or argue that the disqualification now because he's one twenty million dollars. Saudi Cup shouldn't happen I I am not gonNA come on here. Make that argument I just off you know really looking at it. It's unfortunate that happened because maximum security is really just such a tough horse. And you know there's not enough good things you can say about maximum security and you know that raise really showed that maximum security is one of the best horses in the world and obviously right now. The leader of the pack in the United States for older horse. Right now and be really cool to see this horse competing for your old year and you know depending on where he goes from here. Obviously you know. They already mentioned that. He's not going to Dubai. But just where MAC security goes from. Here I'm excited to see that. And what he has in store you know. I'm sure Eric will have some of his things. Say about maximum security. But that's something not lost museum. Fortunate -ness of the disqualification at the Kentucky Derby. Because you know this is a really really fantastic horse for sure. I mean he's slowly and steadily starting to shed that tag of being the Horse Sector disqualified from the Kentucky Derby even though it will always remember that way. If you were to continue what you did last weekend easily going to be more remembered as one of the better horses heading into this decade in this early part of the century the obviously he's now ten million dollars in earnings in at this stage career. It's only getting go go higher. It'll be interesting to see where he gets brought back. I met in. Saratoga is kind of the midseason point. Four the connections there But honestly I think he's already cemented. His legacy added great horse. Just you know like cigar did way back when of when he won the inaugural Dubai World Cup. Maximum security is going to be able to say the same thing for the Saudi Cup where he'd be a really good group of Horses. I might add Definitely was not lighten any sense I think every horse for the most part Ranta form in the Saudi Cub ibew. Probably the biggest surprise people contend but definitely not be By a quarter of a lengthy Iran. Huge She's also in so many other horses from the race but maximum security Kind of a rough trip was definitely a target especially for teas on Mutual Gustavo. Louisa has had to get created down the stretch. But you work down in that. Horses has tons and tons of heart. I don't really know I've seen a horse. Who Does Not WanNa let him worse by like maximum security does. It's quite impressive. How this works bears down to every time he races and I just think I I I think we all know. He's in pre twenty twenty if he stays healthy yeah. That was another thing that I didn't quite get that opening. Bid Is the fact that you know. Maximum security did all that won the race while Iran Ortiz was basically writing interference. I made the comment to Eric Baxter. Excuse jokers still out there kind of looked like a NASCAR and now you can say all you want about. How you know. Probably wasn't the best rider. You didn't have good character of Iraqis. I thought it was a good strategy on his part to do what he could to be. Maximum security obviously probably definitely in this country If he would probably would have been disqualified but I thought it was good on his part to do his best to win. Win The race. And try to keep maximum-security away because I don't think I if you run that race normally maximum-security just goes by with the rules over there. They run category One rules which unlike in America the disqualification rules are if you preventing a worse from running their best race. You get disqualified. There is. That's worse when when you run interference or not so if mutual Gustavo Iraqis does dat but the horse wins by Lincoln half. It's not a problem. Give what was within the rules so it was a good ride? Bhai Iran It was definitely a little malicious. I certainly Jason Service not lease with IRA. Teaser was on the first things. He made a comment about after the race. In the in an interview shortly after On national television I might add But at the same time that's I mean the races aren't one you know like a track meet where you can necessarily go between the lane. This horse racing and that kind of stuff can fly to an extent maybe a little over the edge. I think especially when acting security job inside. I really started to hurt an inside but I was happy that I read never intentionally drew contact although he was doing some blocking like you said NASCAR ask He never intended to make contact which I think was probably the safest thing and when he when he knew the horses about to go by he kind of backed off on trying to get through so are running more interference so while maybe was maybe a little militias It definitely was good race riding on his part all right so that. That's it for this stuff with the Saudi Cup Stripping back over Cross sees out before we get to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks preparations that you want to highlight a Horse Zulu al folk who is turning into his own. You know I will highlight at about this point last year. This is were bricks and more bricks and mortar was not not saying that Zulu Alpha is going to be the next bricks mortar. Or anything like that. But you know he could do similar things to where it's very likely he's going to do similar things to what bricks and mortar didn't very likely that this is probably the top tier force in the United States. This year. You know at this point last year. Bricks and mortar was a great one Winnipeg World Cup turf and and then he had a great to race. I believe it was either at fairgrounds are one of the tracks Louisiana so to this point Zulu Alpha grade one winner Pegasus World Cup turf now. He's agreed to winner The Mac Ramadan down at Gulfstream. This past weekend. I think Zulu Alpha's in for a really strong really really strong two thousand twenty Keep your eye on him. Come for race like the turf classic the Kentucky Derby Undercard. That's where I would him go but not saying Zulu Alpha is an expert in order. But I'm not saying that he isn't either into Rena. Bricks and mortar was able to have consistent success last year is because all the worst is behind him weren't consistent. I mentioned on the show last week. That Group of forces that Zulu Alpa was facing. He actually used to be a part of that group they never were able to consistently put together strong back. That rates it's bricks. Mortar took it to a new level. Easily able to string together back Multiple consecutive good races in a row. And that's what God in his horse of the year title. And if these keep going the weather going is do. The wealth is going to be able to do the same thing last year Even though I was Kinda surprised after neier introduced the Turks Trinity Series that no horse really emerged from that as premier career force and to be chair. I mean we see that with Dirt horses as well on the on the Derby trail. They don't always shape out after the triple crown trail to be good and that kind of creates inconsistencies in the handicapped division like we saw maybe back Towards the end of maybe before the end of two thousand seventeen that you're got stronger as it went on but nevertheless China look into Alpa. Maybe like an expert in order. I wouldn't be surprised because once again the turf division isn't strong and If I'm going to throw one out there vitality is probably the best grass three year old male out there And I know. The connections are keen. Distract him out so he could be wanted content we know. He has loads talent. So at this point Zulu Alpha is primed at least stay home maleter force because so far. There are no challengers within a mile oven.

"Eggleston Park beaches in-depth analysis ten stakes races on the card including that as we talked about the foreigner K. Facet didn't states and Saudi Cup the inaugural Saudi cover and talk about here the twenty twenty Saudi Cup Philip. Fourteen ran and let's see King Abdul Lee lease racing course also known in Saudi Arabia. So talked about on the Intro for quite a bit twenty million dollar purse Mount Eighth Race. This crazy attracted. We've never seen in all American. Horses are going under Mexico. City Mackenzie Mutual Gustav. Ib Zoo tacitus. Here's a fourteen gold dream tacitus What does that involve Paul North America Garner Gronkowski. So I mean that's a horse like that. Econ- forget about but Gronkowski midnight zoo maximum-security Mitchell greased Mackenzie. You're sobral great Scott had managed me of Of a member of the office. Production grants gotten magic. Want Kapito competing and my check. So so you do these five Americans but you also have horses like North America Gronkowski magic wand horses at new. If you fall racing. You're no stranger. D'you mean Gronkowski obviously wanted to buy. So I mean in the of course you magic wand who just seems like. She's runs everywhere literally around the world. And is this like itching. Each can't quite breakthrough and here. She is here now under now under so I mean it's an awesome. It's an awesome field It's it's it's it's twenty million dollar purse and I think it's GonNa live up to it. It's just a matter of what the hell happens. Well to me my love affair with maximum security really developed over last year. So I'm not going to go against him here. I think I think he's proven to be better than these horses. He's faced you know he's done it time and time again. I think the sneaky worsen. Here's Joe Guzzo. I think this horse has really turned into something Nice. I know the Vegas wasn't much. But he beat them like they weren't much and again. I'll go back to what I talked about on the Pegasus. Podcast I'll talk about it again. Muccio Giusto in maximum security really squared off in quite a stretch duel in the Haskell last year. Yeah and to me. That was when both words were really at their best input over their best efforts. Now maximum-security beat them. Which is why I'm Vicky maximum security but I made that point in the Pegasus podcast and it worked out. Maximum is still just looked like he was much better than those horses because he ran that type of race. Yup Now I think the big difference is you know. I don't really think this was the goal for mutual Gustav started the year. It just so happened the near and his way there. Maximum security has been pointing for this race. You gotta think he's going to be ready to go. You know the the big unknown for everyone in the race is how they're gonNA handle it being at this new. You know different country different track house going to play those are things we don't know maybe throughout card we can kind of get an idea but as we sit right now. I just have to think okay all things being equal. Who's the best tours? I think it's maximum security. Yeah I mean listen is a horse that other than you think about it. You can make excuses for every horse. But the Horse won the Kentucky. Derby get queued Pegs stakes was kind of a really the only kind of head scratcher of of the year? I mean of his career for that matter. The horses lost twice and one of them was a d. Q one was that Pegasus race. One time is he met crossed the wire I once in and you look back and you look what he did before that race in waste since that race and you look back and I don't even know that you draw a line through the he blows courses out like like look at any of his races. There blowouts so whenever we were sitting at oaklawn about a year ago When we MOTTOLA was running in that race against Whitmore. The you was D- Count what's please. Yeah we're inside. It's raining whatever and Matola and I said this is a horse if Iran's because he's one of those rates horses out the time what could have been with mottola because he's always he ran but you didn't know when he was gonna run how healthy he could be. Obviously he showed last year what he can do when he's healthy. I said if he's in a race you you'd better because when he's in a race you know as healthy and you know he's good enough. Obviously so I kind of feel that way next year. He's been a worse where he might run a race. Then you might point to raise and then he points to another race and he scratches out of that race. And then we're going to we'RE GONNA WE'RE GONNA fly away to Pennsylvania and just to watch him then he scratches that we and it's just like that's the kind of course he is right zooming. He breaks from the gate and he runs in this race. You GotTa pick him. I think that's just how I feel with maximum security. I think he's got tons of talent. And you're okay and then you look down this field. By the way era my part you get Gronkowski. Second Bio cub forget about thunderstorm But he's he's still ran So you almost we almost one but he he easy to forget thunderstorm So you look at task. Camp can't trust them. You Know Gronkowski. I think he's got a shot But again I can't trust them fully midnight zoo I think she. I think she'll run well but I don't think she's good enough to to you know definitely be maximum security. Mutual I think is a big threat. Mckenzie I don't I like but I don't know I don't trust distance. Is there ever been not interrupting but is there ever been a horse where it's more of like I never know what to do with McKenzie? I know like never been so. I don't have a clue what to do in a classy as source to classes runs in the biggest races all year and still take time like. I don't know what to do with this horse. I thought he ran a great race in the Breeders Cup. Eat for for a mile a quarter for that. He was fantastic. He looked like a winner for a second and then he's like well. It's as good as he could run. Exactly you know and so I just don't know if this is I. Think does the Horse of the BAFFERT that you would want but I just don't think gave him you know Magic Wand obviously a horse that I'd really like you know. Try and dirt and too many factors their neck security so. I think I think he's the one I think he's GonNa further prove a- as he goes how how messed up. The Derby was because really the Derby is was the start of just the total cluster. You know what of Twenty nineteen when it came to three year olds obviously the starting off with Omaha scratching And then okay. Maximum security and he runs awesome. He's d queued and then a discredited this trickle effective in of the whole year so I think the more he continues running the more we look back and say wow so he won the Kentucky Derby and ultimately finished seventeenth and country house. Actually one they took it over. Who's no basically retired slash dead? Maybe so it's like a good time in racing to be making a dent. Sorry I'm sorry he's not dead. He's retired so the country ever to make a dead child to country also for for saving my ass last year. He laid it on the line for me last year. He even had to help had to help. Make history to give me. That went to No maximum security. I think he just. He's a cool horse because he runs in so many different distances all year and mile you know what was the I think the one of those claiming races are the starter claiming one of those seven. Furlongs ONE Raises before now eight mile and a quarter obviously with Derby? So it's just crazy. I mean what he's able to do in. Root Wayne doesn't matter mount it's like if Israel to the mountain quarter. I wouldn't have cared visible mile. I wouldn't have cared. It took to him so dumb and took to the Cigar Mile Day before I sat down and I looked at that and said wait a second. This sources crazy good. Yeah I finally got on board and I got bored paces stakes which maybe I've well crap. I just jinxed him got state onboard with all the hassle and so But I was totally against him. I was totally against him. They Kentucky Derby. I'm not afraid to say it just because I didn't believe you were there for the Florida. Every my reaction did believe in so that was my fault. I still a little bit late but yeah I don't I think honestly I think this is. I'm excited to watch them. Run because it makes. The part of me likes watching him win. Which is be like you know what like this horse? Is You know what he could have been had he won. The conductor will stick quote unquote won the Kentucky Derby Good. He have gone onto to win the preakness. And you know what you've done and not that they can't blame it all on the decay because a lot of it's he good stay healthy you know. He couldn't stay healthy. And so that that has to be a factor when it comes into that but now I'm with you maximum security. He's GonNa keep adding to what he got. One point eight million. Well that should that should go up a little bit. After he finished fifth. It'll go up on the power no shit and that's the thing with these races other you know. Gronkowski's got to two point nine million in his in just because he got second Dubai last year. And so yeah you and. I are both on security. Thank you went. "Last time. And he's a horse that I think you don't have to question the distance at all one of the few in this race. That's the case for because he actually going farther than this in the mile and a half Greenwood Cup last. October beat a decent field day that included war story and Marconi of both a marathon specialists and since then adventure just held as good for him. He ran well to back in the Queen's county again last time the jazz will. He's the kind of horse it's always at the mercy of the pace just picks up pieces at the end but he's been reliably good for him. I think he's GonNa show up here it just a matter if he can get into the winners circle and he'll get pace ahead of him that he really needs another horse. That could take money in this race. That I'm not a huge fan of is the number to Patagonia just horse. That's pretty lightly raised. I think people are going to perceive that he has a lot of upside and he does but he also wants to step up in class and face the toughest field of his career. Last time out he caused a minor upset when he beat the heavy favorite communicator in an allowance race at aquit upped communicator was really impressive when he broke his maiden in the race before this but I think there's a little bit of doubt about how good he's turning out to be because he disappointed in this race came back next time to Oaklawn Park and was really disappointing at a short price. Think he finished tenth down there. So there's some question what. Patagonia was beating last time. He's going to have to run the best time formula speed figure of his career to compete against this field. And I don't think it's going to be that great of a price so I wanNA look for better value for me. I think this race where you can get a little creative. And I'm going to do just that by picking the number eight. Bluegrass cat smile. He's fifteen to one in the morning line and he does deserve to be a big price because he's he's gotta get faster to beat this field. He's a New York bread and we'll take a look at his last race where he beat. New York breads in an optional claiming race. This race was going a one turn mile and I always think that bluegrass cat smile isn't really add. His best around one turn especially going the one mile distance. I like I'm going to turn mile NATO little bit better. I think he struck me as a horse. Always that's this big long striding grinding type that's going to appreciate it more ground so this mile and five sixteenths might be perfect for him. I like the way he won this race. Bowling through traffic about the Eighth Pole to forge. Pass the leaders who really had all the best of it. It was a slow pace that he closed into here so I like the way that he did it here into one. Twelve time for a speed figure for that performance that number while not quite fast enough to win this race it's not that far off some of the main contenders not so far off. That should be fifteen to one. And he's run faster in the past. Also he's first off the claim for Gary Jaka some my perceived Atta the negative but Gary Siaka actually is pretty solid numbers off the claim. If you look Indira formulator over the past five years on dirt. I often claim. He's ten fifty five. That went percentages eighteen percent. And that's an Roi of over four dollars indicating the most people underrate these horses. First off the claim for Gary Siaka. I liked that. He's getting a writer. Search Eric Kahn cells. Been doing really well lately in New York. Just think he's GonNa Outrun his odds in this race if that's good enough to win remains to be seen but he's going to be value so. I'm taking a shot with the number eight bluegrass cat. Smile in the Bernardini steaks on Saturday at Act. Balancing it back to the studio time for best bet segment here on out of the gate. Criminal ski like something. At Gulfstream. My best sped is gonNA come from the greed three the very one stakes being run at Gulfstream. Park Saturday on the Fountain of Youth Card. It's a race against us to one fifteen race rating from time form. Us So at best. It's an average grade three for older fillies and Mares Looking through the past performances is the best latest re-signed form. Us speed figures. Just a one sixteen and that comes from a horse turning back two and a half furlongs. I shave around quite a bit for running a mile and a half so I think this is a reset looks ripe for an upset for a new face. In for that reason I picked queen of time. The three horse She shipped in from England. She's run time former time. Form Ratings Overseas. That can compete with this bunch. I with any improvement. She's getting first-time lasix. Which is something. I definitely like to see so. That alone would be enough for me to take a wager on her. What I think is going to be a bit of a price. In addition to that when I pulled up formulator and opened up trainer Graham motion stats. He does very well with these types. I you can see that he. He has an hour away of two thirty per two dollars. He wins over twenty two percent of the time with foreign shippers. And when you look at the lay off the source has been off over one hundred fifty days justed the filter to to change that in win percentage actually shoots up to twenty seven percent The payoff does dip down a little. Bit Z sources. Or maybe a little more little more well-meant but he this is like a horse. That I think is really set for a nice effort against the suspect group. So for me. My best bet is queen of the time in the very one stakes and my buzz about. It'll be accurate. Updates number four non winter one allowance. Race sprinting on the main track. I liked the number two hirsch in this race. A horse who you have to go back to early in his career two thousand eighteen. He ran really well on his first. Two career starts both of them sprints. He missed a lot of time. After that race he only managed three starts last year as a four year old. He did not come back to form in those races. He missed more time after that. He's been back onto off now for one start. He got one. Starting last month at a one turn mile. We'll get the stretch run of the race. Now he's not GonNa really be able to get involved behind a really impressive winner him come in wide from last year. He had real trouble at the start of this race. Bumped by the winner at the start. Lost all kinds of position and it just was last all the way and this rates but he's making a run through the structure. I thought that this sort of signaled that maybe hirsch is ready to get back into his really good form. I liked them cutting back for this race. Second off the layoff. If he can get back to one of the reasons he was running early in his career he could pull off a mild upset. Industries Nelson. I suffered from Hershey especially considering all the shenanigans that he suffered at the start. I like race number four brazen before Laurel. I like the number four devotion in motion. Let's watch his most recent start. It was as I lay off. That's the story of the sources. Career is career has been plagued by layoff lines. He caught a one to five favorite. He was on a hard chase throughout. And he's just GONNA pay the price over. A testing sloppy track can get tired at the very end of this race to finish fourth. But I think this was a good long opener for devotion in motion in the first. Start off the layoff and for the first time in this sources career is not going to the sidelines. After a race. He's coming back on relatively short notice. I believe the sources feeling good can stay close to the pace in here has not dealing with the one to five. Extreme who coincidentally is running and race number two and you can see how he did coming out of that race. I'll give the source of chance. I believe it's the second choice on the morning line. "Back down to the gate? Let's throw up the field for the Kentucky Oaks. Prep at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. Race number ten is the great to two hundred thousand dollar. Devonian Dale stakes three year old. Fillies going one mile for expanded stakes previews of all the major races this weekend. Visit Video Dot D. R. F. dot com or the daily racing form YouTube channel. The number six spice is nice. Seventy-five morning line favorite. Seven figure yearling purchase stepping up off a very impressive debut win at Gulfstream Park criminal houseguests and things to say about spices. Nice the development. Dale drew a field of nine. Including undefeated. Tunnel is shape. She's undefeated in four tries. I don't have a whole lot of knocks on her but she hasn't run particularly fast. Because of that. I'm going to look elsewhere in the horse. I think is clearly the horse to beat and the one that outrage or if she offers any kind of value is spices nice. She's Todd pletcher trained filly who she had a tough break. Last time in her debut she moved in traffic through the inside Moved up on the rail. It was a huge move. In my opinion she got a big speed figure. A one twelve much faster. Tono shape has ever run so for me. She is clearly the horse the beat and should be the favorite in here and a horse. I I'm not really very eager to go against this. Depends what kind of odd she is in. Show be my top selection. There is another horse in here. Byron EST who? She doesn't have the figures of even tonal shape. But she is I as all. These are just the three-year-old filly. She hasn't raced since November and she hasn't had a whole lot of pace in either of her two starts in time for them. Us PP's both racists have Boyfr- action. She was able to close into them nonetheless. I even once on a sloppy track last time out at Churchill downs. So she's two for two. She did run a ninety four time. Formula Speed figure at Keeneland in October. Which is actually compares. Well with tonal shape so she would be my second choice in here and I will probably play are in. Some exact is with spices. Nice and I'm just going to be against tonal as shape. If he beats me she beats me really like that. Debuted from spices. And I suspect she's GonNa get hit hard to windows here probably deservedly so still going to try and beat her with tonal shape in this race. Tunnel was shape is drawn to the outside impose number nine. She's four for four career. He's getting a grade three win here in the forest. This is off a little bit of a layoff. You're going to see. I read Ortiz. Get after her a little bit. She's GonNa take this thing over in. The upper stretches GONNA drive down to about the eighth pole once. She puts this thing away though what she's supposed to take her in hand let her finish it on her own. I just thought another good race. Even though her buyer went in the wrong direction here I still thought she ran. Well and going back over this distance over this track. She ran a really big race to win the hot hot eighty nine. Beyer speed figure that day. I like everything about this Philly and I like her. Getting back to the one turn mile. I agree with pretty much. Everything Craig said about spices nicer. WanNa use her and just about any kind of multiple race wage or but I do want to take a little bit of a stab against her with number seven buyer NASA perfect two for two in her career. Let's go back to her debut during the Keeneland for me. This race was sprinting. She's on the outside. She's a little bit green on her left. Lead most of the way down the stretch but once she straightens out she inhales this field and she goes onto a nice victory. She was much more professional. Second time out. When given an opportunity to stretch out to a one turn mile over a sloppy track at Churchill downs. She tracked the pace on the outside. The favorite snuck on through inside for opened up a commanding lead. It looked like byronesque had no chance to get that horse. She dug down deep and was able to prevail. We'll see what we get off the layoff. I think the sources okay might even more a little bit more distance down the road. Price should be right on the seven buyer. I'm terrified of the flatly. Favorite Spice is nice. Let's stay Gulfstream Gulfstream Park Mile wide open race field for the grade to go stream park mile race number twelve on Saturday. Three hundred thousand dollars is the purse for expanded stakes previews of all the major races all weekend long we cover every horse in every major stakes race heading over to video dot dot com or the daily racing form. Youtube channel time form. Us believes that the pace of this race will be swift greg calcium after spread in this race they got the winner but he's spreading with closers a big field of eleven for the Gulfstream Park Mile Pace projectors expects a fast pace. And frankly so do I. I don't always agree with the base projector. But this is one of those times where I do Pacesetters FROM THE PEGASUS METEOR MR freeze and Bodey Express. They cut back in distance but they both shown high-speed throughout their career. I think it's a bit of a tough post position for Bodey Express. I don't particularly love horses. That draw the inside in these one term miles out of long shoot. So He's a horse in addition to the pace. I don't like to post. I'm going to be against him because of that pace. I'M GONNA look for closer in here and the first one I'm going to talk about is Hog Creek Hustle. He's a horse. He's a grade one winner. He took the woody Stevens last year. He was a little bit lucky to survive in inquiry that day. It was a close call. That could win either way. But he has shown that he is able to close when he gets a good pace to run into. He is going to be a formidable book. Formidable foe in the lane his last three races which include the Breeder's Cup Sprint. Have all been at six furlongs which. I think are just a little bit short for him last time out. He faced the super fast. Bobby's wicked one and rates with absolutely no pace. It was only a three horse field so I'm not putting a whole lot of stock in that race and I do expect a big effort for from here. I think this mile is good The pace is going to be hot. And there's really nothing not to like that. Said he is not going to be my top selection in here. I'm actually going to go to a horse. Who looks very similar to him. I in high cow. High cow is a horse who is a no shy of being undefeated in his last four one turn races. He was on the Derby trail last year. One three in a row including the grade. Three Gotham when he got another one. Turn Mile where. He got a really fast pace. I can't blame the connections getting a little derby fever. Trying them in the wood memorial once again got a really hot pace was only able to get third that day but something went wrong in between there is. He had a long lay-off after that race. But I really liked comeback race in January at Acworth Duck. He didn't get up for the win against Raka a horse who actually heard him out quite bad at the end but I thought it was a really solid effort. He got a one seventeen time form. Us speed figure The pace was certainly not hot. That day it was it was anything but the early quarter is code blue and our time for US peas. And he's one that I think's really sitting on the top effort and it's GonNa be my top pick in here that said I. I also like Hall Creek Hustle as I said at and probably play the two of them and exact the boxes and if for some reason Hog Creek. Hustle went off at higher odds high cow. I would probably change my tuning. Go the other way but I'm definitely looking for a closer in here and how cre- custom an high tower the two I've landed on. I'm just like dragging this race looking for a big pace island front. I'm hoping that sets things up for the eleven Hajri Causal in this race on this is a horse who I feel like you have to try and get past. His last three starts on his page not that he ran poorly in those races at all but they were all six furlong sprints. I think that's a little bit short for this source. He's getting back out to a better distance for him in this race. We're going to go back and look at a great a great one win for this last summer. At Belmont Park this is a race On Belmont Stakes Day. Where you had to be on the inside to do the best. When he needed save ground early he got out to the clear and the stretch and he's GonNa come running into a big pace here and he's going to get it done at a big price to pull off an upset. He came back out of this race at nearly went back to back and just missing and the challenge organs. Also at seven furlongs Zero Toga. I liked this source that the one turn mile in a race with some pace and he's a price hoping for a little class relief. We'LL GET MR freeze over the Hump in here. He took on Tom's day tie in the Fayette. He took on Toms data in the Clark House. Day ties one of the better handicap horses in the country MR freeze far from embarrassed neither one of those races and then he ran here in the Pegasus World Cup and he ended up in a little bit of a pace duel with Bodey Express. Muccio GUSTAV SAT right behind a mutual. Gustavo has already blown to the front. But Mr Freeze gamely beats back Bodey Express. It was yet another close but no cigar. Finish FOR MR freeze but this is the kind of horse that I think is adaptable to the pace. Scenario considered mid pack and he has had success going to one turn mile in the past but a little drop in class. Gets MR freeze to the winner circle? Finally after a couple of Nice runner up finishes David Aragon of time form. Us spotlights the feature race at aqueduct. Then we'll be back with best bets Saturday time for SPA and I'm going to take a look at the eighth race on Saturday. Act It is the Bernardini stakes going the unusual distance of one mile and five sixteenths around the equitable and confusing. That distance might make things looking at this field. It's a pretty confusing group of runners. Because you've got horses coming in from all different directions. Hard to make comparisons a lot of horses. Who Haven't tried this distance before the favourite might be the number seven Lehtonen and made them the lukewarm three to one choice on the morning line. But he's going to be affected by the pace of this race. Let's go right to the time form pace projector and you see the number seven lay. Tony is predicted to be on the early lead in the in the early going but he could have some company upfront because the number four x bar also as speed as does the number five armament. Both these horses showed speed in their most. Recent starts so the writers could get aggressive in this race and that could make things difficult potentially on the number seven. Lehtonen moving on to look at Les Tony's past performances. He's been in decent enough form Jason Service in his last three races. He hasn't gotten back to that. Massive one twenty four time from USB figure that he earned when he be claiming company at Belmont Park back in October and his foreign might be going in the wrong direction. I think you can make that case looking last two races. Both of which have come over. This acquis Deauville in the jazz stakes. He wasn't fortunate to run into Mr Buff. Which if you've seen Mr Buffs last couple of races in New York. Nobody's beating in these days so lay. Tony was compromised by having to chase that horse but he really did fall apart at the end of that Chazal. Then last time Jason Service made the unusual move of running him back on just six days rest really typical for this barn and lay. Tony did not respond well to but fading at the end of that one mile test. He also ran to another good horse that day. Sir Winston He's not facing horses. Sir Winston Mr Above in this edition of the Bernardini up but still he's going to have to run a little bit better than those racists to beat this field. There's a question about how far he wants to go. If this distance is really going to suit him and you might take some pressure upfront. So I want to look for some better value in this race and I think you can make a valid case for the horse drawn right to his inside the number six adventist. He's actually the horse that ran right past Lehtonen in the late stages of jazz.

"Mike and International cast. Obviously Mackenzie is one of the more consistent American handicap horses in training for started the year. He's one of the classes horses in the field consists in his right to Dan. Thirteen of his fourteen starts. He has hit the exact He's exiting a racing Breeders Cup classic the last time we saw the replay that we can throw up right now. You're going to see him get tired here on the stretch and fade the second behind. Vino Rosso but this is a distance. That's really beyond his best. He's cutting back to the nine furlongs. Here this is a much better distance for him and he was running races. Basically throughout twenty nine thousand nine that would make a really top if he shows up and this race is a one turn mile and an eighth and make one of Mackenzie's better efforts. Last year was a tough trip. Effort in the Metropolitan Handicap going to one turn mile agree with Mike Mile. Quarter a little bit too far from. He proved his metal at Saratoga over the summer going a mile and an eighth. Let's your colleague Craig. Mcaliskey likes the world's richest race. The first running of the Saudi Cup is taking place. This Saturday it's a twenty million dollar race speaking run on the dirt at a mile and an eighth and because of that dirt surface. I'm going to go ahead and assume that at the racist going to go through the American horses and that's where I'm going to focus my handicapping. I have read daily racing form that that isn't quite as speed friendly as what we're general- genuinely used to here in the United States but it is still a dirt course and speed does pretty well and I think we have the fastest best horses on that surface looking at the graphic midnight and Tacitus. They seem just a couple of the others in here from speed figure perspective. If I was going to cut one of those to a break it would be tacitus. He he's the younger who received US four. We haven't seen him. Since last fall he was able to run one twenty five time form. Us speed figures so with any improvement just for maturing I he could jump into that one. Thirty range certainly be a contender but personally. I would have liked to seen a preparations out of him. I would be awful tough fast. I have him firing on all cylinders. First Time out so I'M GONNA look I'll swear on another horse. I'm not going to go with his Muccio. Gustavo he comes out and winning that Pegasus World Cup. Last time he did so pretty easily. Thank you won by four lengths at day. Got A one twenty nine form. Us speed vigor. But I don't think it was the strongest edition. That reese that we've seen. I was one of the weaker actually in figure wise. I think it was the weakest one we've seen and not just that the one twenty nine was week If you look at the interior piece figures in the graphic. I provided there definitely lower than while we're generally used the CNN top clays for top class racing You can see it looking just maximum security and McKenzie's races. How much quicker the pieces? So he's going to have to deal with something he hasn't seen before and it's just a step. I'm not willing to think he's ready to make the Horse I did sat on is maximum security. He's probably going to be the favourite. I would imagine in the betting pools but he is a horse. He simply the source. He has a piece advantage that one thirty one time formula speed figure last time was done winning this cigar mile. He did it beaten the Breeders Cup dirt. Mild winter spun the run that when challenged them up front wasn't able to get by and he simply put him away and ran away late so for me. Maximum security is the best horse. He's on his best surface. A mile and a quarter isn't isn't a problem. If you watch a replay the Kentucky Derby last year so a mile and an eighth is certainly within the scope so I just think he is clearly horse to beat and he's going to be my selection. I'M GONNA agree with Craig on this one. I did take maximum security at the end of the day. I just went with two favorites here. I think the Americans have an advantage going this distance on the dirt track and I just like maximum security is racist from top to bottom. He started out his career very cheaply but he looked like a good horse from that day and he just kept getting better from there. Let's take a look at his. Most recent start here. This is the grade one cigar mile at Atwood to close out. His three-year-old campaign heaters went right to the front here. Dan The horse. That's chase them around. The tracks ponder on his coming off a couple of big efforts and maximum security. Gave this horse no chance to get into the race. I really liked this performance. He felt like he was just getting better from race as a three year old. I think he fits really well. It's really just gotTA show up and run his race going nine furlongs against this field wonderful tactical speed. You know is going to be forward and again. I think this one turned nine. Furlongs is going to hit him right between the eyes. You saw what he just did. In the Cigar Mile going one turn at Akwa twelfth anyone's been following me on social media knows who I have to pick in the Saudi Cup because I've been touting Christ so barrel since everyone is career debut in Japan. He's six for six now after this win in the grade. One champions copious against weaker competitions down on the inside. This is a big Colt that I think likes to be outside of horses. One of his great strengths is making this big sweeping move on the turn and most of his raises. He's down inside underdrive. He's in trouble but once he gets to the outside of the pay center he is going to kick in the final. Oh one hundred fifty yards or so and he's getting away from this field at the end. This was his first major domestic test in Japan facing better horses. It's going to be light years more difficult from a class standpoint facing the likes of maximum security and Mackenzie. Kinda married to the source is going to be a price in this race. Worried worried that he could be outpaced early. But a fast paced. Maybe he comes with a big run at the end. That's barrel putting his undefeated streak on the line. If not him. We all get mutual goose DOA chance as sort of the now horse at a better price than his American counterparts. Let's go to Gulfstream Park. The major race on a star Studded Card is the Fountain of Youth and Important Kentucky Derby Prep. What's the field for the feature race on a ten stakes racecard at Gulfstream Park? Running fourteen overall. And the finale on Saturday afternoons card is the grade to four. Hundred Thousand Dollar Fountain of Youth Stakes. Three year olds on the road to the Kentucky Derby for expanded stakes previews of all of the graded stakes races at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. Plus lots lots more visit video dot dot com or the daily racing form Youtube Channel. It'll be up by Friday afternoon. Mike Big and bulky field could cause problems for the three major contenders breaking from the outside very short run to the first turning Gulfstream. Yeah the all three horses drawn to that. Three four outside post seem like they want to be forward in this race so somebody's GonNa have to send if they WANNA make near. We'll how that all plays out this pace go get heated though could get heated criminal. Kaczynski kind of likes. The horse could be close to the pace. However that doesn't draw towards the treacherous for outside Lets Craig Likes the Fountain of Youth through a big field of eleven and predictably the pace project or thinks that pace will be hot. It's not a big surprise with a field side's big but that is going to be counteracted a bit by the short run to the first turn at this mile in sixteen distance a Gulfstream. I generally favors speed and outside and inside positions we do have three horses that that figure to take a good amount of money in the field that have speed but have all drawn outside. That would be shot ski at Indian and chance it. I'm not saying they can't win from out there but I think it's a factor you certainly have to be aware of and you should demand a little extra value if you WANNA take a shot with those likely favourite dentists moment your all's well. He got the five posts so not too far inside. He's not a. We need the lead type He. He's run well in the past from just off the pace He's a horseshoe has had some issues in his four starts I. he lost the rider in his debut. In the Breeders Cup he went to his knees at the start but when he runs his racy certainly a tough customer and I definitely think he's the horse to beat that said. I am going to try to beat him. And that's going to be with a horse named as seen on TV. He's a horse. Who comes out a chance at twin? In the Muccio Macho man over this same oval. That was a one turn mile that day as seen on TV. I think is going to get better with more distance. I think he had a bit of a trough Tough trip that day there was a stewards inquiry. I think it was an objection into the stretch run but for some reason they didn't actually look at much of the stretch run where as seen on. Tv was heard out really strongly at the end by chance but the results stood. But that said I think it definitely had an effect on the result. I liked the more distance for as seen on TV. I think he gets a good post and I think he's the horse. The beaten is going to be my selection in the Fountain of Youth. I'M GONNA give Dennis's moment a chance here to step forward in his first daughters at the Rio I know he's the morning line favorite in this race. He is exiting a very disappointing race. In the Breeders Cup juvenile last November. He did have an excuse that day stumbled very badly at the start and then just failed to pick his feet up. There were a lot of horses who didn't show up that weekend at Santa Anita. Not all of them had the excuse to this source did though he really stumbled badly prior to that. A huge maiden win with the ninety-seven Beyer speed figure a grade. Three win around two turns at churchhill downs where he does dominated two year olds with a ninety Beyer speed figure. I realized that there are some questions. Yes the answer in here and I know he's GonNa be short price but I'm giving us a chance to rebound here on his best. Dennis's moment is one of the top three year olds in the country coming off the layup and he should get the right pay set up and I think he's just found a great spot to kick off his campaign one a little bit of a better price. However I landed on Indian for packed. Biancone third star of the form cycle. Let's go back to his last race. At Gulfstream. They wrote on the right way this day. They got him to the front. Tis The law. The big favourite the champagne winner from last year. Kinda got bottled up in behind horses. It didn't matter to the law is one of the three year olds in the country. You put at Indiana way at Indian miles the best for second. This risky mcflurry faster. Speed figure perspective. I don't believe at Indian needs the lead. He showed that in his career debut going five furlongs on the turf rallying from well off of it brick from the outside post. They gotTA use his speed. I'm okay I'm hoping to draft and behind shots. Maybe in the second flight and come with a run from a mid pack trip Nicole Rousseau's pedigree pick segment focuses on the Saudi Derby on the Saudi Cup undercard. Then we'll take a break lots more handicapping to come on out of the gate everyone Nicole Russo coming. T- for out of the gate and I want to take a quick peek at the Saudi Derby with an international field of three year olds going about a mile on the dirt. Now this race offer Kentucky Derby points however it's not out of the realm of possibility that some of the international horses could move onto the UAE Derby at may don next month following. The Path is some of the older horses who are intended to go from the Saudi cop to the Dubai World Cup. I'd also have to think the North American based horses here Billy Batts Rowdy. Yates could come home and try a US preparation. So let's take a closer look. Billy batts interesting to analyze from pedigree standpoint as. He's making his first start at dirt. He was a game run-up to structure last November in the Breeders Cup juvenile turf which you're watching now came back to win the baffle on turf at Santa Anita now billy batts by the versatile cities. Zip Sire of many outstanding turf-cutters but also dirt runners such as champion sprinters.

"Grace could sit out really well for him. He's my third choice. I'M GONNA GO BILLY BATTS. First Rowdy eight seconds and I will make a prediction at this point. I was just looking over this And looking ahead toward the jury. I will make a prediction rowdy. Yates will be in the Kentucky Derby this year whether he wins or run second in the UAE Derby that prediction that. I am comfortable at making now rowdy. Yates will be in the Kentucky Derby this year. Not saying that he you'd necessarily run well. But that will be a prediction that at this point all be comfortable to make Moving onto the race that a obviously everyone's excited for the Saudi Cup at the rates that I'm really looking forward to is the Saudi sprint. Which will feature the return of imperial hint a you remember. He was scratched before the Breeder's Cup sprint. I think he would have a very good chance to win that race. And then Last amount he was stirred in the Mr Prospector. He had an absolute Payton. There was absolute pace meltdown in that race with him in the late X. Y. jet. I think this is definitely be a better spot for imperial hint again. The seven furlongs is not the best a distances. Four imperial hint coming back down to six furlongs definitely will help him. A lot in this spot and There's not really any horse that I look at this out. Say That that horse would be particularly better than imperial hint. I think that this is a spot. That imperial hint is GonNa come back off and Get get a win going onto what I think could possibly be his final year. I don't know purely has been around for a lot but Adeptly sentimental story at least for me to see him come round. How the Nice Twenty twenty. Maybe maybe finally get that Breeders Cup win. He's definitely the class of this group. I've never been impressed.

"He seems to dislike goals remains. He's now a win win in a second they're both At a mile or a mile and sixteen. So He's definitely one that's on the improvement. Probably been the most consistent over the last couple of races out of this group. So I'M GONNA go. Hi Column Top to Fatman Second. And I'M GONNA KEEP MR freeze around four third and those closers are going to be coming late. I have a lot of feet hog creek. Hustle is ready for a big year but a one where he's going to pick up a lot of good paychecks for places and shows and great ones in grade Jews but he's GonNa come running late but Just at a track like this. There's no guarantees will run day. So now we're GONNA shift all the way over halfway around the world for the inaugural running of the Saudi Cup. And obviously it's as we have seen over in. Dubai when you get these bigger races that bring that the American Dirt Stars over American distanced stars. You always got to have an undercard full of some good races and there are some. There are some recent in Saudi Cup. That are under Carter definitely worth paying attention to. I'll let air get into the the Nausea Motor Motors Cup that net so I race in Saudi card. That will be on at about a for for Erica. A nice solid five in the morning A little bit more reasonable in the morning for me but some of these people are going to be some early post times early warning races. Jack yesterday told him at least. It's going to be good practice before you buy when I have to get up just as early so I'll be used to it by then But starting with the I'M NOT GONNA say the entire.

"How he left his mark every single race. Pretty much in America run every day will probably have an offspring of AP at some point in their bloodlines. He'll be there just quite incredible And the best part is is that even though he's not here On the Earth physically we are going to be able to see his his offspring. Maybe not direct offspring but Multigenerational offspring coming still on the race. Track for years to come and they're going to live on through the likes of constitution happen. Tell he's done in the breeding shed and so many others so truly a great loss but he's not gone yet. Yeah and that is one thing that you didn't mention his I was able to got a couple of Compliments on this. I was able to actually find most of the old. Ap and erase footage for some reason Usually don't have too much luck with finding stuff like that but I was able to pull it down off of all the all the places so also got that in the background so once again a loss for the industry but ap all in all in every facet was phenomenal. So on a bit of a lighter note GonNa get to get into the risen star two divisions of that race to horses on their way to the Kentucky Derby Mr Mom away from the first division and modernise from the Second Division. One horse that did not and I don't want to obviously start this by going at one works but one horse that did not perform was ano- door. I was not one that was particularly fond of the decision to take him away from the Elkin Rail Derby and go down and try to win a race. It fairgrounds that there wasn't really much of an indication that he would do particularly well in. But you know that's what they did and it ultimately didn't work out for him but Talk about Mr Automo- I think very solid win by Mr Mamo. He turned back a couple of really tough challenges. Enforceable ran a good second in that race but Mister mom really stamped himself as a horse that's going to be on the Derby trail Definitely for a trainer. Brad Cox who who at this time? He needs someone like that. Yeah I mean I won't get to detail about the race because we have a lot to talk about but I texted Jack. He was either the morning over the day after. Because I had it made my takes yet Or the day before it's us me and I told him My my pigs for the president. Who was Mr Mum and Moi was.

"All right so. We're back after a unseasonably long delay once again We ran out of allowance time so we didn't. We weren't able to have a show the week of the rebel. Excuse me not the rebel. The southwest stakes so we got a couple of. Derby preps from the past couple of weeks to talk about in addition to looking at some nice state's racist Gulfstream. We Got Kentucky Derby Points. One Horse GonNa Punch their ticket to the Kentucky Derby this weekend another Horse GonNa Punch their ticket to the Kentucky Oaks on then. There's a couple graded stakes races one on one on grass horses at Gulfstream this weekend and in addition to Gulfstream. You've got everything with the Saudi Cup so But before we get into all the horses I want to just give Eric one opportunity to kind of give you his brief thoughts on one of the real sad moments that has happened recently in horse racing. And I if you're not aware if you've not checked out the video that I made on this already I would definitely suggest. Check this action. We're not gonNA spend too much time on this but if you're not aware champion Sire Racehorse. Ap Andy passed away this past weekend. So very unfortunate loss for the industry. He was thirty one so he did live a full life but again always said to lose so shape and horses. So I'll give you eric an opportunity just to give your thoughts as you weren't able to do the video with me on You know the the legacy of a PhD and just the type of horse that he he was dragging encourage. Everybody listened to go back and watch that. Video of Jackson was very detailed ing when a lot to Apd legacy on and off the track very well done But.

Who's the Champ?

"Bobby? A halt of the New York hot list is our first guest of two thousand twenty here on the gate now. The horse that won the Breeders Cup dirt bile beating Omaha beach is spun to run and he will be facing Omaha beach again in the Pegasus World Cup. The first major race of two thousand thousand twenty but maximum security will not be there and code of honor will not be there. Maximum security is waiting for Saudi Arabia. The world's richest race the Saudi Cup in February. It's very tempting to make this a political discussion. I'll only do it to the extent of saying with what's going on in the Middle East right now. How do you think that is going to impact whether trainers bring their horses over for the Saudi Cup and or the Dubai World Cup in March or maybe they take a look at that Pegasus again and say maybe we ought to just stay here that that's a very hard question to answer? Ah It's hard to understand how people feel I will say this. I am confident in saying that the people especially in Dubai. We're ruler of the country behind that I think they're going to bend over backwards to provide security and take care of the park I I would hope the same thing's going to happen in Saudi Arabia race and then just not become a outer tech or anyone but that is a question question that you just can't answer. I think it's very hard. It's an individual decision to a Lotta funny. I understand when people go play a lot of people who have no dog in the adviser to come up with answers of morally questions. And what they're gonNA do when not to you. Gary West was all set to run his voice Independence when it was nine nine billion dollar I. He was happy to take the fourbillion winter. Share the person. Just go to the Middle East but when you cut the first out of nowhere to three billion winter I'll get one point five billion something like that and you have just wants to you know once in a lifetime could easily win ten million dollars and probably turn around that month and win a twelve million dollar right I. It's hard because this is an expensive sport and as much as these people arrested of of money that goes into this so You understand it as of now. I haven't heard anyone saying they're going to change their mind about going. I'm sure people are a little bit nervous but I mean let's be frank. I think anytime you over. There is probably reason to be nervous. So it's just an individual decision and I wouldn't chastize anyone. Whatever they they decide because it feels like them? That's their call. It's not it. I make my own decision on my life. You make your own decision on your own life and I think that's the way it goes. Oh by the way. I think you're under selling the Saudi Cup. I believe the purses twenty million dollars. Well it's ten million the whip you get ten billion but it's it's one that that that's what I'm saying he gary West is looking at it. I will get sent. Don't get out of the home and billion dollars if I say in that term so you can when you look at it now. You basically have to win the Pakistan that in line with at one point I for share of the first compares to the ten million that he will win. Take home for winning the Saudi Cup where he will be the favorite and a one term mounting great definitely. I Dunno betting Saudi Arabia. But I know American pools. He's GonNa behavior and you running for stabbing tons of money. That's a pretty compelling nonetheless in the Pegasus World Cup you do have. Some horses is with some credentials including higher power. The Pacific Classic winner. We mentioned Omaha Beach. roadster for Bob Baffert is aiming toward the Pegasus. And you will be there. How do you see this first? Major race of the year shaping up that force right now in training maximum very doubt after that case to be made then Omaha Aubenas bunch of wrong especially violent eight might be the second and third bout with McKinsey right there with them so when you get fun to run and Omaha Beach I think he got a pretty darn good race. I mean it's interesting possibilities. Are the horses doing nominated at the box He's done. I'm very well. This is of course. A lot of people east might have remembered with Chad Brown Barrasso. And you know he was good you know. He got coming up. In the minor spot that West to John Adler Verona's ray thing all of a sudden. He's winning all these steaks and eat it. You can't east to Churchill even lost or any blocks. We'll see if he's going to be the ones that they decided to send into the race. It'd be a good one back wizar- people know this story. That fifteen thousand dollars who ran against maximum security and the world's most famous Amos. Sixteen Thousand Dollars Eight lamer and it'll be in there. I think it'll be a big competitive fourth. It doesn't I think have the superstar. One runner arrogate powerpoint chrome Omaha beaches in that category But it's interesting. It's good to get back into talking about racing and Bobby Hall. Nobody better to do it with so. Thank you so much barry. Thank you always chat that with you so when we come back here on the gate. The site of the world's first million dollar horse race is short on dollars and short on time time to secure them. Welcome back to win the gate in July of two two thousand. Nearly twenty years ago Churchill. Downs home of the Kentucky Derby purchased Arlington Park in Chicago for nearly seventy one million dollars. Arlington's owner Dick Duchossois had closed the track in one thousand nine hundred ninety eight and nine hundred ninety nine saying that he could not compete with other gambling businesses. The opened again in May may of two thousand presumably with the knowledge that a sale was coming at the time. Churchill was in something of an arms race against the stronach group. When it came to buying up tracts the idea was to create networks of tracks for simulcasting and cross promotion of races and Events in nineteen ninety nine Churchill bought calder race course in Miami and Hollywood Park in California and then bought fairgrounds in New Orleans in two thousand and four? This was meant to counter the STRANA group which began its buying spree in nineteen ninety eight with Santa Anita then they added Gulfstream Park in Florida. Both major Maryland tracks Laurel and PIMLICO as well as golden gate fields and Portland Meadows and Oregon stronach versus Churchill. Wasn't exactly the Cold War. But the battle lines had been drawn it it seemed that Churchill was the first to blink Churchill dumped Hollywood park like a hot potato in two thousand five just six years after buying it. Churchill said at the time that California has forsaken racing and its needs reports came from fairgrounds in two thousand thirteen that the turf course was too dangerous juris to race and that the track had been poorly maintained ever since the churchill purchase at the same time Churchill was trying any maneuvering possible to get out of its obligation obligation to operate racing at calder. Eventually the STRANA coned Gulfstream Park worked out a lease agreement to run the calder meet in October and November this year. Two Thousand Twenty is the final year of Churchill's obligation to lease the meat after which it may convert the track into a shipping logistics center. Or something like that.
