Adam Schiff Complains About Kevin McCarthy, Asks for Money on TikTok

"Here's Adam Schiff, Adam Schiff, there's a lot of buzz about Trump being invited back to Facebook and they're all upset about that too. Well, apparently, Adam Schiff says, hold my beer. I'm going back to TikTok. He has or I'm launching on TikTok. Now, TikTok, that's ironic because they're trying to ban TikTok. The United States wants to ban TikTok because the Chinese are spying on us through TikTok. Colleges, government offices are banning TikTok, but Adam Schiff says, no, no, no, no, no. I'm gonna go to TikTok because that's where I'll complain about Kevin McCarthy. Hello, I'm congressman Adam Schiff with some troubling news. Today, Kevin McCarthy removed me from the House intelligence committee, all for doing my job for holding Trump accountable and standing up to the extreme maga Republicans. We knew it would be bad when the Republicans took over, but it's far worse than we expected. But I can promise you this, this is not the end of my fight for our democracy. This is just the beginning. Please join us and contribute today. Thank you. That contribute. I want to fundraise off being kicked over being kicked off the intelligence committee. This is flat out a skit from Saturday Night Live. That is that is flat out a comedy skit.

"It's the NFL, and it is on Westwood one. Yes, mister McGee. You want to review those picks from yesterday? Yeah, by double shock this week, San Francisco forty-niners, plus the three at Philadelphia, forty-niners are Fred Warner, in particular, is an old world linebacker, and he was covering CD lamb last week. To a lot of success. So we'll see how the eagles handle that. I don't think they're going to be able to. Willie, our House better is in full disagreement with you. Yeah, he's taking the eagles. And then I like Cincinnati. I got it at minus the two. So that means Casey Kansas City plus the two. And now it's gone to Bengals plus one. But I'm going to stick to my minus two. Yeah, it has gone up and down and all different ways. Okay. The classic shoe in of the Uighurs. Starting at three o'clock Sunday on your favorite NFL. Both games are Sunday. Yes, it was kind of surprised they didn't split it up. What are the logic is do they get more views on? I think people are conditioned to watch football on Sunday? Well, it's Saturday night too. I don't know what the logic is. I don't know if there is any logic. I think people will watch the NFL no matter what time it's on. True. But I would think they would watch more, just say. I agree, Tom. Thank you for agreeing. I don't know what the deal is. It sounds like a conspiracy or something. There's something going on. I just usually there are no dollars left on the table by the NFL, as you know. And I was just curious. Do you think this will be the last season where they play the championship games in one of the home stadiums? No. No, they floated it out there. No, no. They play all year for the home field. No. Okay. That's not going to happen. It was one of the rumors. Okay, back to

"Farrow in London and Tom keen. Is he in London or is he on his way to Manchester? I think he's in Khan, Genghis Khan. No, he's in London. If you paint with fair and ball paint, then you have to say London. That's how it works. Nobody says that. That's a Saturday Night Live. Thank good morning everyone. It's Friday morning live here at Bloomberg with futures negative 11 right now. There's a lot of interesting things going on. Some real nuances of accommodation is seen with a Bloomberg financial conditions index, and Lisa, I'm sorry, this is coming like a train. Brent crude, 88 65. That's a story underneath the story this morning. And you're seeing that in gasoline prices and you're seeing that with this question around how much that's going to fuel the ongoing rally that we've seen in energy stocks with a lot of people saying, we're just seeing the beginning of what happens with China coming back online. Yeah and off the radar today and a lot of thoughtful notes into the weekend about thinking about Japan within a Pacific and a global sphere as well. That's a sorcerer reading this week and what are the ramifications of one 25 one 20 strong Yan the flows, what inflation means for the people of Japan and their behavior is you look out to the Pacific Rim. That's another mystery into this year. As well as what the bank of Japan will do. Did you see the IMF come out and say, we highly recommend we strongly recommend that the bank of Japan normalize. Their interest rate policy and everyone so thank you. Thank you, IMF. I think a lot of people are arguing for the same. Just beginning to think about the spring meetings of the IMF, of course, have some leadership there we hope as well. Let's get some specific names because it hasn't been. Let's dive into it. Let's dive in. We haven't really gone deep into Intel, but I keep looking at 10% drop pre market. And it's not necessarily dragging down everything with it. You are seeing a bit of a sell off in micron and Qualcomm and the other chip makers. But Intel is a specific story that has to do with PCs and the lack of demand there. They gave one of their worst ever quarterly forecasts, partly because of the personal computer sales. You say, you think it's right now there are 54% off their 2020 peak, this is about the slowdown the granularity you're talking about. They love to say quarter to quarter Bologna. They're getting their clock cleaned on innovation and on technology with the Intel four tobacco AMD's cleaning their clock. That's my amateur take. You're not. A lot of people would agree with you as well as a number of in-house chip makers and thinking Apple. I'm looking at Hasbro also the toy maker saying that it's going to cut about 15% of its workforce after a disappointing holiday shopping season, perhaps because all kids just use their devices and don't actually play with real toys anymore. But I am wondering whether this is sort of the zeitgeist as to use your word Tom shifting out into a broadening of some of the job cuts that we see. BuzzFeed with a similar tone, those shares popping by about 30% because they said that they were going to replace a lot of their reporters with chat GPT and other artificial intelligence. So this is like Paul Sweeney land. We're going to do it with bramo right now. BuzzFeed's, let's be collegial. They've been, they bought me drinks once at the piano bar in Davos, which was lovely. BuzzFeed has been struggling, right? Yeah. So what are you going to lay off journalists into journalism? You know, they're going to personalize certain posts for people and quizzes and some of the content that they put out using some of the artificial intelligence. The reason why I find this interesting, BuzzFeed is its own story, but there's a broader question of what chachi PT and artificial intelligence can do. Did you see that chat GBT just passed the bar somewhere? I mean, the bar exam. The national, the medical national boards, which I tell people as the equivalent, like the CFA, they passed all three levels. Again, what am I going to be replaced by Chad GPT? And I say this, if it could do a better job, great. But there is this issue of what is this going to do to workforces in a new way that perhaps hasn't been established going forward? Got anything else? That's it. That's what I'm looking at today. That's it. Okay, well, there we go. I keep going, if you want to. Give me one more. Well, I am X. Let's go to AmEx. Because I think AmEx is such a different story than Visa. And Mastercard. Visa and Mastercard The spring time frame was that the treasury will increase its coupon issuance sizes because deficits are continuing to rise. I mean, that, of course, we'll have to wait and see because of the debt ceiling. But broadly speaking, I think there's a decent amount of supply coming into bonds, not just in the U.S. and the corporate bond world, but also in Europe in the first quarter. So there's a lot of bonds that out there to be bought. And that's why we were expecting perhaps a modest modestly higher yields for the market to be able to take down the initial supply. But that's not the case. It's just tremendous amount of demand and people are willing to lop up ten years around three and a half percent. How long will this last this rally this optimism that you see, pervading every asset class? You know, the data for the most part has been mixed, but on the positive side, you look at the data from yesterday that we got for the fourth quarter GDP. There's a decent amount of momentum going into the fourth quarter. And you're looking at an employment picture that's still extraordinarily strong, even though you're getting a lot of news about layoffs in the tech sector. Look at initial jobless claims yesterday. It was very, very low. That tends to be very good, leading indicator of the jobs market. So in this sort of environment, the market is actually, in my view, underpricing the risk of heights for the share we're looking at, perhaps two heights being priced in for the first half of the year. And then a cut being priced in as early as July or September of this year, which that's a trajectory doesn't make any sense in an environment where inflation is expected to remain high in sticky. I mean, look at what happened in Japan. I mean, we saw an outside sprint relative to consensus on inflation. So there's always a possibility that we do get those sort of volatile inflation prints in the market has to respond. And the fed has to respond in like as well. So what's the read through to markets? What kind of disruption will there be if the fed surprises to the upside, perhaps on a 50 basis point rate hike next week, but does indicate that they're going to go further than a lot of

LA mass shooting suspect kills 10 near Lunar New Year fest

"Ten people were killed and ten wounded at a Los Angeles area lunar new year celebration, setting off a manhunt for the suspect in the 5th mass killing in the U.S. this month. Captain Andrew Meyer of the LA sheriff's department says the gunman opened fire ten 30 Saturday night at a ballroom dance club in Monterey Park. When officers arrived on scene they observed numerous individuals, patrons of the location pouring out of the location, screaming the officers made entry to the location and located additional victims. He says, even though it was a lunar new year celebration, it's too early to know if it was a hate crime. That's too early in the investigation to know what the motive is. Myers says police are investigating another incident at a nearby ballroom in Alhambra to see whether it was connected. I'm Julie Walker

Message From AJ: Mourning Jackie Blue

"You've all known I've been very emotional the last week or so, and that was because my nephew Jackie was in the hospital with complications from diabetes and stomach ulcers and, you know, he just was having a rough time and he was released from the hospital Saturday I believe a Friday and Saturday night called rosalie in terrible pain and he was sobbing, he was in so much pain and she begged him to go to the ER go to an urgent care, you know, just go. Don't worry about your dog. Don't worry about whatever the fuck it costs. Just go. I don't want to wait 7 hours for a room. That kind of shit. And we hadn't heard from Jackie for 24 hours, and that's not like him. He is a 51 year old man. But he talks to his mom twice a day. And if rosalie was your mom, you would do that too. So when he didn't respond to our calls and our texts and had friends of his reach out to him, the only thing left to do was do a welfare check. That's something you don't want to ever have to do. So we got the Hollywood police to go to his apartment and after talking to two of his friends, we managed to find the number of the building manager who lives in the building, Jackie lived in and he called us back when he called us back to cops were already on scene and I was there when they informed my sister that her son has died. I mean. You know, I'm not myself, I'm numb. We're all out of sorts, nothing feels right. Watching TV, laughing in the comedy or anything. Nothing feels right. My sister's son has died. That's my nephew. When he was born, I was 9 years old. I was an awful at 9 years old. I mean, we took, we took baths together as kids. He lived with me two or three different times, both in New York and LA. While he was chasing his dream,

Every elite university has at its core, a contempt for every expression of Christianity. I know that many Christians do not be Mormons, theologically Christian. I have no desire to enter that issue. But it would be a little odd to deny that a church calling itself The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, has no connection to Christianity.

Rachel Bovard on What Makes Trump Different

"Joining us now is Rachel bovard, who wrote a very interesting piece of The New York Times. What makes Trump different from desantis and other Republicans, Rachel is with us right now, Rachel, welcome to the program. Thanks for having me. So Rachel, why don't you summarize the piece for our audience and we'll dive into it from there? So the piece really looks into what I think is the appeal of Donald Trump. And I think people in Washington, particularly establishment Republicans, and even sort of what I call a conservative intelligentsia, missed this. And this is exactly the dynamic I saw play out in 2016 and it's going to play out again in 2024 because people in leadership of the Republican Party have no idea still have no idea why it is that Trump won. And it is this visceral connection that he has with his base voters who trust him implicitly. And interestingly, Dave Chappelle honed in on this, I think, really well when he was hosting Saturday Night Live recently. I don't watch Saturday Night Live personally, but I caught this clip and I thought he articulated it extremely well. He said, look, I live in Ohio. You people have no idea why Trump is so popular there. And he said, Trump is what I call an honest liar. And what he meant by that was, you know, he pointed back to this debate that Trump had with Hillary Clinton in 2016, where Trump basically said, look, I know the system is rigged because I use it. And that was just, I think, distilled to its essence, the why people trust Trump the way that they do. Because he set out loud as a beneficiary of someone at the top of the system who benefited from how it's going to rigged and corrupt toward the top. He set out loud what everybody at the bottom has long suspected, which is that the system itself is rigged and because he benefited from it. He had tremendous credibility in pointing that out. And so people, I think, who vote for Trump really see him as someone who can not bend the system because he's been part of it.

"Movies will forever change and how they use guns and criminal suits, civil suits, and lawsuits will be filed for the next 5 to 6 years. It's not funny, but it is kind of calming. It's not funny at all. But when you stop and think and go, wait a minute, Alec Baldwin is responsible for putting people on this movie who were scabs and in doing so, he put someone in charge who wasn't ready for the job of ultimately loading a gun that he was gonna fire. So yes, you have to blame him in a large sense. I'm not calling him a murderer. You wanna say it's manslaughter? Yeah, I totally understand that. There was no criminal or evil intent. But the blame has to fall somewhere and I think Hannah Gutierrez read and this guy hauled the first AD or fucked their careers are ruined and Baldwin's career is gonna suffer for a long, long time. You know, Hollywood liberals, they love Alec Baldwin, we know this, and if anybody can come back from this, he can because of all the backing he has. But Hollywood liberals, they rail against guns, yet they make movies with guns. They hate cops yet they use security gods on private details. They hire inexperienced armorers and assistant directors and they neglect safety trainings and protocols. They overwork their crews, they generally have little respect for proper gun handling on their sets. And what's happened at that New Mexico ranch is going to be known as a very harsh and cruel lesson for all of Hollywood to have to go through. But tough shit. It had to happen and it's happened. Let's see if they change their ways. But boy, these people weren't paid for three weeks. They couldn't get the right lodging. The COVID-19 protocols were all messy, so they walked off the set. Ultimately, that's on Alec Baldwin's shoulders. Even before the gun was fired, he was fucking up. You know why? He was in a hurry. Low budget movie on to the next thing on to the next thing. I'm a tough guy. I'm an alpha male. I'm combustible. I know

"Nothing happened that day thank God. But the prop master or armorer who gave that gun to Alec Baldwin have you seen this? seen this winter? Some typical. Oh, God. Multi tattooed, heavy set check, piercings, all over by. It doesn't look the part of anyone you'd want in charge of the workings of a handgun on set. But she's the daughter of a man who's always been regarded as the best armorer in Hollywood. Now this gun armorer and the assistant director who gave this fatal gun to bull and have been identified, she's had a Gutierrez, she laid out three prop guns on a cart outside the filming location, and the first AD, Dave halls, grabbed the gun from the cart, brought it inside to Baldwin, unaware that it was loaded. But he shouted cold gun before he handed it to Baldwin. And that's, again, that's the phrase to signal to everybody in the cast and crew that this going to save to fire for the scene. That's what is known as the right protocol on a movie set. So you can blame Baldwin all you want, but when you get the good word from the prop master and the first AD, I guess you could check again as the final actor holding the gun, but Jesus Christ, you know, you're being told it's safe and if I'm Baldwin, I'm not sure if I'm gonna say, I want this checked again. I don't know. And knowing the kind of hurry he's always in and knowing that there was a lot of shit on that film set that many, many workers walked off the set, you heard that for me for anybody, they brought in scabs to work the rest of the shoot. This same gun had problems in October at misfired. It was a problem with the gun last week. So Baldwin and maybe not just him, but he's executive producer. He brings in other people from outside the union to do this shoot. This low budget movie.

"Never aim at anyone and always treat the gun as if it's loaded. But we don't know what the shot was yet. What was he asked to do in the script? Was it one of those shots which I've heard it may be with a camera is shooting right down the barrel of the gun in which case there is typically a sheet of almost bulletproof glass. I forget the name of right now, but they placed that in front of the camera lens. And if he was supposed to pull the trigger in that type of shot, well, that would explain how that live round went right through the cinematographer's chest and entered the shoulder of the director behind her. But we don't really know yet because the media, if they have asked that question, they haven't gotten an answer yet. What we do know is that there was a live round in the gun. And remember, there is no such thing as prop guns, old guns are guns. I've handled guns three times in the 9 movies I've worked in. It's pretty much a lot. That's the third of my anyhow. I fired them twice. Once I used the shotgun to fire into the trunk, we were doing a short film, which was really funny called script fellas, which opens up in the same way Goodfellas did with Ray Liotta driving the car, De Niro in the passenger seat, and Joe Pesci in the back with the great Frank Vincent dying in the trunk. And when he starts banging around the trunk, they pull the car over. And it was me and Al sapiens. I forget who played Joe Pesci sounded just like him. And we basically did imitations of that scene. Seeing word for word line for line, the same car, the same lock, the same shot, the director stole it and did it exactly the same. And I'm the guy who fired the shotgun into that body in the back in the trunk. Along meeting took place before that. I was gun safety. I remember it was cold. We did it in apple Orchard. I wasn't even in LA, maybe a year. I hadn't known the land yet, where we were, but man, that meeting was so goddamn important. I'm thinking, all right, it's blanks. What the fuck's gonna happen? I didn't know all these things could happen. I mean, I know about John Aaron pets and Brandon Lee. And I'm like, I'm gonna do a show on John Ericsson tomorrow. I knew about that, but still, it wasn't gonna happen to me. I'm not even aiming at him. I didn't even tell the left. I'm not gonna kill the guy, but whatever. It's a long meeting. And I remember the last time I had a gun, that was wielding an unloaded shotgun that some hostages I took in a diner and a film you'll never see, I can't find it.

"Explodes, working girl, beetlejuice, talk radio, and the list goes on and on and on. But I saw how he walked back then. And then having had the luck to live in the same city as him and eat at the same restaurants as we grew older. I got to see him often at Nick's games where he yelled like a regular Joe from Long Island. But you could always see the passion. He always seemed in a hurry to get somewhere. I interviewed him once on the phone and we got to talking about his being with Kim Basinger. And I said to him, I have a cardboard cutout of Kim in my office right now. She's in the nude, but your hands over her breasts. It's that ad she did for people for the ethical treatment of animals. And he loved it. He laughed. He said, I got the real thing right next to me. We may not have beaten you in football, but I got the girl, man. I got the girl. He was a ball breaker. He is a ball breaker. He's a fast mover. And as much as I hated seeing him do that awful impression of Trump on SNL, I can at least balance it against all the great film work he did over the years and how he was always a great SNL host for that matter. I mean, for a very long time, if you were a guy, you wanted to be Alec Baldwin. Even when he got ugly with the Kim Basinger divorce, like I said and he said those harsh words on the phone to his daughter. It hurt to hear that. But it sure showed you how bad the voice could get between two people. Even when he made a mistake, he was teaching other people a lesson. But then he rebounds and he marries at the time, many of us felt another beauty, damn. He hooked another one. Who's this hilarious? Who is this chick? So young, so gorgeous. I mean, now we know what to be a phony, and we've come to denounce his protecting her bullshit airs and outright lies. But if you were ever in a bad spot, you'd kind of want his unwavering spirit with you. Wouldn't you?

"It's why there's no wonder a guy like chuck zito, the vice president of the hells angels and a man with more than a couple of horseshoes up his ass, knocked us both out in the back room at the same strip club on different nights. Now that night had I hit my head right after his right hand smashed me on the button by my chin, if I hit my head and died, then that horseshoes luck would have run out on old chuck. But his tough associate Johnny C, caught me and let me down easy on the cement floor. Now, Alex Baldwin and I never had a fight. But we had words as far back as 1983. I'm studying with my acting coach and New York City, wonderful old Russian woman Mira stover taught Monte cliff, you know, talk Brando a bit, but mainly Monte cliff and Baldwin was one of the actors who'd come to Mira's class to stay sharp to work on a particular part or a scene. And then, you know, he'd mix in with us newcomers, the up and comers, the nobody's. The nobody who believed just as he had that they too could be a somebody. Because at the root of all this anger and combustion is what really is with Marlon Brando delivered in the backseat to Rod Steiger and on the waterfront. Remember Charlie milloy Rod Steiger doesn't look. Can I know how much your way? Slick, okay? When you wait, one in 68 pounds, you were beautiful. You could have beaten Billy Kahn. And that skunk we got for a manager for you. He brought you along too fast and Terry malloy, the beautiful brand on the back seat. It wasn't him, Charlie was you. That night in the garden you came down to my dressing room and told me kid this singular night we're going for a price on Wilson. You remember that? This ain't your night. I could have taken Wilson apart. So what happens? He gets a Tyler shout out doors and a ballpark with a leg. One way tickets to palooza though. He was my brother, Charlie. You should have looked out for me a little bit. You should have taken care of me just a little bit so I wouldn't have to take them drive to the store then money. I have some bets down for you. You saw some money. You'll understand. This is everything guys. I could have had class. I could have been a contender. I could have been somebody instead of a bum, which is what I am. Let's face it. It was you, Charlie. A lot of us in that class felt that way and acting was a way up and out from whatever weight we felt we were under. I know I'm getting off the point and listen. So Alex sat in one day in the class, the class was fucking $10 a day. We $10 for three hours of acting with an amazing coach. Three hours, ten bucks. Just your

"But as usual with the left leaning mainstream media, they're telling you the Hollywood version. The Hollywood version of the Alec Baldwin story is that the actor killed a woman with a prop gun and a blank and therefore he's not in full. The true story is that Baldwin shocked two people with a real gun and ultimately did not follow safety rules. Now, there are all sorts of pieces of bullshit in the middle. There are a lot of negligent things that happen between the gun being loaded and then being handed to the first AD and wait till you hear about the girl who fucking loaded this thing, boy, what a loser. And then that first AD handing it to Alec and allegedly yelling Cole gun. Which is to say not loaded with real bullets. The media version is the crew made a mistake and gave the act of one live round of ammo that shocked two people. The factual version is no one knows what was in the gun. And on top of that, the term prop gun just means a gun. A gun that is being used in the entertainment industry. But, you know, most people think all prop guns are toys or fake models. They're plastic. No, no, no, no. No, this is because as usual, not many people in the news business bother to check or ask or investigate whatever the hell they're supposedly reporting on. The Christ's sake, if I had global when I was a reporter, well, I would have been that much better. These people are just flat out lazy. How many times do I have to say the news media is filled with schmucks? I have to say it all the time. It's the same thing as telling your kid to be careful when they take the car. Or when they sleep over a friend's house, or any other time a parent, meaning one of us who has had more experience in life has the duty. And honor to remind them that, hey, you don't know this shit, but our time here is very fleeting. It has as much to do with luck as it does genes diet or exercise you name it. I always felt lucky as a kid, always. I escaped my lion's share of bad shit. And my mother would remind me, boy oh boy, you got a horseshoe up your ass this big. Don't push it, mister. I still feel the horseshoe up there somewhere. I know it's there. Now, horseshoes up the ass. I'm not necessarily hereditary. So I always tell my kids even when they're doing the simplest things like crossing the street. Hey, look at me. Head on a swivel. Where are you? Where you going? Chin up. Rock out. Look at me. Roxie, hey, you know. Much of the terrible situation that occurred at that New Mexico ranch where they were filming the movie rust, which you'll never ever see because it won't be finished. Where that young promising cinematographer was killed from the bullet fired from Baldwin, this all clipping avoided is some people could have remembered to be careful. And not only that, but tell other younger, inexperienced people on the set, hey, be careful. Chin up. What are you doing? Where are you going? And also, if Alec Baldwin didn't also grow up with a horseshoe up his ass too, it might be different. But I know he did.

"New Year's Eve. I'm sitting down. I have so many opiates in my system because of my bad back. I was taking, but I tell you 20, 30 purpose of the day, that is not a lie. I had a doctor named doctor small, who used to go to Studio 54 with Johnny boy, and we would go to his office and he would write scripts for literally as many as we wanted. Can you give me 300? Yeah, come to the office. I mean, that insane stuff. The bottles were like 7 inches high. All right. And I go, Jimmy ripp was there. Jimmy ripp was a Sessions player for the stone. Guitar player, cool guy. He played with the stones a lot. Not on stage, but you know, in studio. And Jimmy had some heroin. Jimmy had a little heroin powder and tinfoil. Listen, I get nervous of you thinking that way, but if you ever gonna try it, you would never use a needle. "I have a friend named Todd jasko. I brought him up in the past because of that stupid fucking that movie we were going to do together and then I took over Todd's role that little movie called bug knight that was done in one take. They were trying to beat Hitchcock's record for rope. And we did. But Todd had that role then I got it and it was awkward and fucking weird and we're cool now, but Todd and I were friends since kindergarten. Can I say that? Yeah. Kindergartners. We were just tights and 5 years old. And his dad always inviting me out. His dad Bernie yasko was a pilot. I think for American or Pan Am, he had to fucking wings on the whole thing. You know, you go to the house, you get wings. And they would ask me to go to Disney World every year. And I would never go. I was just too panic stricken to leave my home. I didn't want to leave my family. I was that wasn't my back. But what wonderful people? Wonderful, beautiful, Jewish family. That will do anything for me. And Tom and I have kept in touch over the years, like crazy. I mean, he is my oldest friend. It's insane. 54 years and we still talk from time to time and we act like literally no time has passed. Nothing's changed. We can bring up a story and miss pisco is 6th grade class when so and so set on a pen and it went up for us in the back sofa. We were in this advanced class in 6th grade this instructional new thing that our fancy teacher Gail pesky invented. And basically, in her school, her classroom was, it started in 5th grade, and I was there for that year too. I had it for two years. She was a head over time. She said, I'm gonna give these kids the curriculum for the year. And they can come into my classroom and do whatever they want. But they know what they have to give. They know what they have to finish and what they have to hand in by certain dates. But I'm not going to be up the rest. I'm going to show you that these young children can do this kind of thing. And they can work together. They can help each other on a project that can help each other run book report. I want to see the cooperation between young minds. No one had done that. And we were like 20 handpicked kids. I don't know why we picked Todd and I matched up. And we were great. We flew through with flying colors. It was great to just sit back. There was a fucking sofa in the back of the room. This is 1974. Sulfur is in rooms. Now that didn't happen in classrooms. That's why I said that girl said in a pen because the salt depend went through the cushions of the soul and I figured the Kathy Hoff maybe, I don't know. She shot on the pen and went up her ass. "Need to tell me Steve's father lived 36 more years? It blew my mind. He had his father 36 more years than I did. Do you think that doesn't make a difference in life to a boy? Wow. I mean, that's just huge. One night Chico had a fight at a big old open house party. Some rich kids named the chappies. The chappy's on the funeral parlor on west Iceland. Frederick J chappy funeral home. All our friends and relatives and parents were laid out there. It was down the street from my house. Well, when the bull on the weekends, the boys were crazy. When the mothers were the mother and father went away for the weekend, I wasn't able to fuck they did. They were rich kids. They drew parties at the funeral parlor at their home. Just imagine partying around a funeral. That's what we did. And. One night, Chico had a big fight with this guy. We barely knew named bob pacio. It didn't really is a year older than us. I didn't really know about him, but it was an insane fight in the sense that when they got in the clinches, bob bit Chico's nose almost off his face. I just make Mike Tyson look like nothing. Till the day he died, Chico had a scar on his nose. That went from the top down to the bottom, I believe right nostril of bob's mouth. And the fight got broken up, and Chico is breeding profusely and passio actually had respect for Chicago because he tied up with them and he clinched up and they went toe to toe for a little bit. Bob cassio was I mean, this guy bought past drove around west ice and I think he had a chevelle and he would play the music, the soundtrack to Superman. That's what he felt he was. And he was. Toughest motherfucker in the world. Because of that night when Chico fighting a chappy's house, past seal decided to side with us. Like I like you guys. She goes crazy. We fought his nose. We shook hands. And now that meant that bob, a year old in us, but had to fit, but I have to go back to school. He should have been graduated. He had to take a few more courses. So he was mixed in with our classes. And now we're Friends with bob pasio. And we didn't really know what to do with him because he just wanted a kick ass all the time and most of us wanted to get girls, you know, a fight now and then was fine, but not every fucking night, bob. So patio, one night goes to a party. We didn't want to go. We're not gonna go to that party bob. It was our friend Ricky German's house who lived down the street from me. Filipino family, the father was a doctor, Ricky, Peggy. A lot of Steven, a lot of nice kids, Filipino family. And. Steve Izzy and Maddie Chris, Matty Chris brother Pete, jumped bob pasio at this party. We weren't with them. So we couldn't have protected them. It was just a perfect time to jump bob. And they, I mean, I say they fucked them up. You don't understand. They beat them up with a wrench.

"And his mother and father literally had no say. If Jerry said, open house at my house, Saturday night, bring your own beer, it was open house. His parents had absolutely no say. They were a little Italian immigrants and Jerry just lorded over them. And every time Jerry threw a party, he'd have these two big cans that we had to put our beer caps in. He insisted on it. It is crazy he was. There was no beer capsule out on the lawn in the backyard. Not on the patio. You put the beer cap in one of the barrels. And when I tell you these barrels, these big drums were a filled up of caps. I ain't lying. Every two or three weeks has gotten a little bit house. And his thing was, Jerry had this big old oak tree in his backyard. Jerry lived in the north side of the tracks. North of Utah, north of util drive. It was a different type of west Iceland. I live south in the traps like Mike. We lived south of montauk, south of sunrise highway. As you win more south, there was more money because the canal and the bay, the great south bay in the hospital and the library. Everything was there. Not that we had any money, but you know, I might grow up with some money. His father did very well, but we didn't. But we just barely survived in this bucolic neighborhood. You go north north of sunrise highway, now you're talking about the kids, you know, leather jackets, dung to be jackets, they smoke and play handball, they smoke weed. Jerry is one of those kids. Jerry would at the beginning or middle of his party when he thought it was right. He would climb this giant oak tree. I'm talking 30, 40 feet in the air. Easy, easy guys. Easy. I got 50 year old tree. First, he would put on shirt after shirt after sharp until he had about 8 layers of shards, including a coat. It didn't matter if it was July or December. He'd climb this tree, he'd like, he'd like nailed some planks of wood so he could step up it in the beginning, and then he just went up the limbs like a monkey.

"And how could I not want to tap into that? If I just keep telling you about Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker or Kanye West making getting mad at a record label because they released this record donda too early. What is everything going to do to your heart? I mean, what's that gonna do? So sometimes I need to be fed and I don't do these things on purpose, but the story comes in my head. I want to tell it to you. It made sense wrapped around the dead wonderful marines. And it reached you. And for that, I am very grateful. Because you'd be surprised some of the shit that gets said to me online that I race because, you know, I used to go bananas over this shit, but when people just say stupid shit, I don't care anymore 'cause they don't know me. I mean, sometimes it gets me. But I did a little thing on Facebook yesterday. I did a video of tootsie chasing a tennis ball, but not coming back with the ball. I played sex with her. I throw the ball, she runs the ball, she comes back with nothing in her mouth. And I mean, I made a joke about that. I talked in her voice. You know, someone sends me a message. You're obviously drunk. Go back and sign. Meanwhile, this video has made it like ten 40 in the morning. Just playing with my dog. And whatever. So the positive things I get from you guys far outweigh those idiots who when I search them up had like three followers and I don't know who these are just crazy people. They're crazy people. They don't get the show. And that's cool. Talking about Tommy Deluca, it made me think of some other amazing people I went to school with. And I promise there's like two or three gossip stories at the end of the show that are fun and we'll have a good time. We'll laugh about fucking Hollywood. One guy that I wanted to talk about, the absolute opposite of a wonderful guy like Tommy Deluca, straight a student, two sport athlete, Annapolis, scholarship, fighter jet, you know, drove a Corvette as his graduation president, just amazing kid. Then we had this kid named Jerry Sam pone. Who was a wrestler, that's all he could do. He was a fighter.

"Nick over milkshakes. How would you possibly know that bananas going to be better than s'mores. I'm just very good at picking stuff. like your boyfriend. Wow sorry no. Fear did short stead. Good thing is we broke up so he's gone. Sorry no it's actually. I'm actually me and my girlfriend of six years just broke out. So i'm i'm sorry this okay. Are you seeing anyone else. I mean yeah but not really like kinda dating. But also i think i just wanna be single painting is. It's a lot each season of the show. You all delve more in deeper into anne's love live In that fran as well for that matter why was it important. You know for you In for the teen to explore kind of those aspects of the character's lives as deeply as you all did well. It's deeply attached to body image. You know a relationships really often defined how we feel about each ourselves and our bodies the way they look. And i think you know in the first two seasons annie's sort of kind of constantly breaking up or getting back together with this one partner and in this new season. She's she's having to put herself out there again. And i think for a fat woman. It's a different ballgame because there are sections of the population. Who will even consider dating you. Because you're fat and And so there's that kind of fear in approaching any person and so that's something we wanted to explore of like kind of the trepidation and reading signals. It becomes even more mixed sometimes when you have sort of a a difficult view of yourself And i think it's a great way to show personal growth. Just within the arc of the story makes me think of something you said earlier when you're talking about Balancing the the comedic elements with the kind of more serious dramatic elements. What were the conversations like between you. And the other folks on the writing team about the tone and and the the the kind of thrust that you wanted audiences to take away from what they were seeing on screen. I think early conversations. We decided we wanted to have a pretty ground tone partially because you know not entirely but a lot of fat characters that you see are kind of like extremes like cartoonish extremes you know where like especially in the romantic scene. I feel like it's a little bit of a miss piggy syndrome. Where it's like. She's going to jump on the man and crush him and that her sexual interaction and we were really wanting to give a fact character dignity in those spaces and keep her human. Keep it grounded and so we found a really grounded tone but comedy is also a huge part of who. I am in a huge part of pretty much. Entire ensemble is like a comedian some form so it was really wonderful. 'cause even in our serious scenes i feel like part of the rhythm of the show. We have a lot is like if there's kind of an intense moment often there's a huge joke at the end that's kinda gonna pull you out of it or or in big goofy moments. Something at the end of that moment might feel a little more grounded and it's a little bit of it's how real life is. Honestly i mean there are funny moments even at funerals and that's sometimes hard. I think i would. I was thinking of when you were speaking. Was you know particularly about the ways in which we've seen fat characters before as these extremes. The movie that immediately came to mind for me was orbit right which is antic comedy but like all of the comedy is about. You know the woman's size riot and and how how much of a issue quote unquote that is for other people around her and it is deeply in a lot of ways. It's dehumanizing right of people. You i often think about this with incomes to like. Lgbtq character sometimes particularly black characters. Were often only the comedic relief on. Yeah screen right and never have the ability to be fully realized you know people with multidimensional lives in things like that. And i think that is similar with characters as well. There are these tropes Characters are supposed to to fit in In when you start stepping outside of that it is. It is a super simple thing like you. You mentioned earlier but also in the grand scheme of things is is is radical or revolutionary by a lot of people's terms. Yeah and i mean. I think it's something that it's it's exactly what you're saying where it's like it becomes dehumanizing or or it makes people who are real people into caricatures and ultimately it's lazy writing it really is just lazy writing like sink a little harder you know. That's that's an it's not. A reflection of who these people are. Fat people are having meaningful relationships. They are having sexy sex. You know same with lgbtq characters. It's like it is. I think it's the great difference of having the people who have lived the stories in the writer's room and it changes things so drastically from then other people's perceptions which often are sort of stereotypes or or these cartoonish versions of of people that really probably have never existed right. Is there a an episode or like an onset memory that you know now that the series is over that sticks with you in out in your mind like particularly a great time or something that just you can't get out of your head when you think back about the journey of shrill. Oh gosh i mean. There's lots of really wonderful. I think the one that. I really remember that people ask me about a lot. Is the pool party fat. All fat babes pool party in the first season which was really like a very special experience because it was sort of like actually just attending a pool party surrounded by fat people who are all in swimsuits and living comfortably and it was really thrilling to be around and you know the folks that worked background that those two days they were they were kind of living at themselves. You know and like dancing and eating and hanging out between takes and i think the mood was so infectious. I mean some of our crew was like in tears at the monitors because it really just felt very free. That was the whole setup for me to tell you what my favorite scene is by the way. Which is i think it's from the first season. I think we have a clip of a portion of the scene in which your character anne Like a lot of women or black folks or other folks of color online is getting like harassed controlled by this guy and anne ends up finding the troll going to his house knocking on his door and.

"So what. We're drinking we. We've got one share tonight. That was bringing to the panel. I was trying to remember the name of it but besides suicide squad. They're like yeah. That's not actually the official title. The team. it's a task force x four x so get killed in honor of that. We've got from ardent so varies because local like richmond specific arden's ip a x. As an option for us keeping in theme and locally as well i will say well. Here's the thing. I'm very picky with. Ip as this isn't ruining my life like my phd where it's so hop heavy. That i can't handle it. I drink this. It's not something. I would order myself. Necessarily it's it's just okay. Yeah i would say this is the first team to aside squad violated is a man like you're excited to meet them like it. It's not a bad time. You're really excited to see their interpersonal relationships and stuff but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter to the plot that's as downfield about it. Oh giving my pensions. Where i like. Ipa's i this would not be my go-to for an a low ab iba. That is if i were to go to support local in richmond. That's what i wanna say. Sometimes my i get entertained by watching when the hobbit will introduce things and you hate it and talk down to it so it's kind of hoping that the local business. I won't do that because when you all both like it. It's calm kind of disappointed with the best way that i could approach. This is that there's nothing bad about this beer. No it's not. It's not so heavy that is going to ruin your life after one beer. You could have probably multiple and be okay. it's not as fruitful fruit focus. I like my as but i liked that lighter. Welcome here that's right. You brought that shit bez right at level but this is this is this is more that that more traditional west coast west coast on it. But it's not handed. It's not like a dogfish head kind of approach to the heavy and you know what's crazy is it has the only two hops are listed on the can are the two like staples now for the style of ip. That i bring here from other places. Okay i'm yeah these two. I've these two hops sitter and mosaic. Yeah they're like they're like made to be married in celestial Granted this isn't as heavy as some of the as far as but i mean there are places seven point one which is not. What else is seven point one that has Falcon smash and that is local to and it. Is it like curb. Stomps also like coca cola. But i'll drink pepsi and by that is that is not accurate. Compared to this is like it's curves. Thompsons beer harrigan. Sorry i'm saying you gotta gotta gotta have some versatility there. As far as like. I like a lot of stoute's. But then i pick the best out and that's all i drink that i would say if you have Ex you're not going to have a bad time. No no. I didn't mean a fine. It's what you know what you're really groundbreaking especially with how many breeze and richmond are doing. Ipa's right now or ever thing is the thing to do is i have. I have definitely strong feelings about One big libary that almost only does ip and how much suck and how much nobody is mentioning how much they suck. It is the one that that's something that you wear on your wedding day with the whale on the same page. Nothing it's not. it's not a horror it like. This is a great intro for somebody especially like it's not offensive. Actually getting in our illness it is. It is solid is just i m a boozy bitch and i admit that. And so that's where my opinion comes from. Real opinion factual ping. Is this a solid drink. This is a solid drinkable. It's a session. Ym it really is all jokes aside. It's a session like those that do like the whale like i. That's a personal fucking. That's that's what. I fucking love about both like the conversation about this movie that we're going into and also beer in general is that everybody's tastes are very different. The first suicide squad was way better than this one. And i'm like you're insane. Person stand you. I am so fascinated by the snyder. Cut people who review bombed it at. I think that somehow should have been an extension of the original movie. Their original movies a chore to watch it or i'm confused by the people that fucking hate this movie like you know. I've seen a few posts in like. Oh what was that. I'm like do not see the same accidentally. Watch the first movie and didn't rise because this this one is legit. I look a little closer to actually. It says twenty twenty one like if you were confused. Hbo the original says twenty six thirteen or seventeen respond with the one with harlequin. Yeah got it now. I like this one actually says when you go because i started watching it yesterday it twenty twenty like it's it's you're watching the right one watching this one was a weird experience for me because it has problems but the pieces are so much greater than the problems in this one that it's absolutely delightful. Oh yeah it just plays like a like an independent movie. In my opinion it does not play like a big studio blockbuster because the dialogue really point how like it goes through it literally it. I i said it's like scott pilgrim meets. The boys meets super is the best way to put it. What a dozen have is harlequin breaking the window of fucking fashion shop to get a person going. We're bad guys. That's what we do diminishing your character to a level of a fucking shoplifter but what it does have is as soon as she spends the whole day with this like the most powerful person in this particular country where they're trying to find starfish alien she fucking spend a day with him. She gets that dick and then she murder up. No she gets her. Ron saw yes then. She murders him so on board with the fucking empowered post joker fucking bat shit insane harlequin. This is the best. That's harley quinn. To me that is the best. I've never quit attached to jokers hip. I've always dug harlequin when she's been on linda's too cool to be just a side note to jokers. Cain aside bitch this clearly they want they want. They wanted to often the first one as a side interest not interesting aside relationship. The harlequin has ever had is fucking poison. Ivy and not joker. They gave the movie. Please ask for a punisher. Seeing the did they gave her where he gave you the shocking jail hallway see differences. And she's over being a fucking ball where you know we're frank castle is just. I'm killing the fuck do you and your new. She's like you're next. Oh you there. Like having fun as she's murdering the fuck out of so many people so they give him some in show like when it happens and daredevil season two when franks jail and he has that hallway scene. There's a moment where. Franks like split second thing but you see you see. John burnt all go. Like no right. And we're just going to go into. There's a scene where like she's kinda like it's kinda like cutie at first and then when she kicks the door open it's like that was her moment. Where the same thing as frank face like here we go. And she's just kicks the door open and from then on she's.
