Don't sue me NBC. Here's the rest of it. I know in your time when you were at SNL, I can't, oh, but wonder, is that dynamic with Lorne Michaels similar at all to a dynamic with a gene cusino? Do you feel like he was a mentor to you in the way that gene is a mentor to Mary? Well, I think Warren's way more successful than, you know. And you know, Lauren's like, you know, when I first got in this, you know, on Saturday Night Live, yeah, you do kind of look up to Lauren, but I also, I think I was always someone that kind of tried to keep my distance a bit too like I would ask him questions that pertain to work, you know? And then at the after party, maybe you would ask some questions. It wasn't until later on that I was at the show that I would be like, okay, what was the first season like? I remember one time it was like one of those moments where you went, I can't believe I'm sitting at this table right now is him and Steve Martin and they were talking about comedy albums. And they were just two fans. Talking about Nichols and May and early Lenny Bruce and bob and ray and just fans. And I connected because on my Llama fan, you know? It was like connecting on that level was really exciting for me, but I really respected Lauren. I really respected his opinion. But it wasn't as sycophantic, I think, is Barry's relationship is with cousin, where he, you know, he's like a father to him. But was Lauren, it was never, you know, mister Michael, can I, you know? I think one time I remember I wasn't doing well on the show, I thought, and I remember going into his office and saying, what can I do? You know? I go, what do you need for me? And he said, I just have a big cast. You're really good at impressions, you know, and you're putting impression pieces up, but they're all people who are dead. And I'm like, well, I like old movies. He's like, okay, you've gotten some of those on, that'd be nice if you could do impressions of people who are alive and maybe your age. But you know, it was more of that stuff. I didn't want to kiss his ass, 'cause I felt like, oh, everybody kisses his ass so I was just, you know, it was kind of more of a, what do you want, coach? Okay, you got it, you know, and then run off. Is it hard to sort of transition out of SNL world and into back into the industry at large? I don't know if it's hard to break the rhythms of SNL after it's been a part of your life for so long. It took a bit, you know? I mean, the nice thing was I was making, I was acting in a lot of movies while I was at SNL. That was helpful. But definitely going in and doing Barry and then doing documentary now. Like, documentary now was a great show because it was a nice bridge between SNL and Barry, you know? Where it was this kind of is still kind of sketchy, you know, where each episode was its own thing. But it was very cinematic. I didn't rely a lot on capital J jokes, you know, hard jokes, you know? Like there's a difference between performing on live television show and acting. Acting is much more interior. It's feelings, the cameras in your face, but it's a different thing on SNL. We're performing. Doctor now, we were acting, you know? And then in Barry, it became like real acting. And there was another movie I did in there called skeleton twins where I got to act and then that so it was like stepping stones out of SNL to vary, I think. I mean, I imagine SNL brought you a certain level of fame and notoriety, but like the success and the very changed your sort of level of same or how it sort of impacts your life at all. No. Not really. I mean, we're location scouting now, and every location we go to, people have no idea what to show is. They were always going. It's called, I mean, today we were looking at a house, like I go, so who's Barry? Like a journalist will come hang out with me and we'll go into a coffee shop and they'll be like, oh, no one's. They always seem disappointed. They're like, they're like, no one's coming over here. Why didn't you have any coming over here? Pester you. So I have something to write about. And I'm like, I know, dude, no one like no one cares. No one cares. A Darcy card used to be our nanny and she's somebody that gets completely people run up to her and love her and my kids, she came to my daughter's thing at my daughter's school and people just lost their minds. Kids are running over, whatever, and my daughter was like, dad, I thought you were like famous. My kids are always asking me like, so how do you know that person? And Seth Rogen, I worked with him. I'm an actor and it's like, oh, okay. Before you go, I just wanted to get back to asking about Barry. But to ask something else about this season, just recent season that it got so dark and I'm just wondering, again, if you knew that at the start or that was sort of like the process of writing or in some ways, like how much darker can the show get moving forward? I don't know. It's funny. People always talk about dark it is. When I go, hello guys, it's dark. It's because someone has told me it's dark. But I fits the stuff I find interesting,

"Career, something you feel like you still really draw from? Yeah, I mean, I think the best thing was just the amount of hard work the crew puts into things and no. I mean, knowing what all the departments do and who all the department heads are and how each department works was invaluable from being in terms of knowing how to work on things and as a director, what they're going to want, you know. We just had a props meeting today for season four and it's I can preemptively know what they're going to ask me about in each scene. And what they're going to want to know. So but then I think also it's like the directors and people I liked were the people who treated the crew as respect, you know, and was kind of one with the crew and knew what the crew was going through. But if you worked on something where the director was a lot of fun, I was a PA off and on, not the whole show, but off and on the first Spider-Man. Sam Raimi was just the best. He was so cool and chatted with everybody and everybody's name and how's it going guys, yeah. But you know I remember being a PA on that and just like loving going to work man because it was like I got to watch Sam Raimi work like Don Burgess shot it and he was cool and like dick warlock was on that movie. It was a stunt guy. He was in jaws. Do you know what I mean? Like you would just hang out with these people and get these stories being a movie fan and just being like, this is such a cool business and what a amazing job and that's that Sony and that's where we do vary. So it is crazy for me now to have an office there. And have two stages with my project there is never lost on me how lucky I am. But do you feel like was this your goal? Is this where you envisioned yourself then? I always wanted to be directing, yeah. I mean, from a very, very young age, as I watch movies and I would notice who the director was and the writer and that was always what I was very much interested in. But I was never someone who sat at home going. I'm gonna, you know, have two stages at Sony and my project and all this stuff. It just never occurred, you know, I'm from Oklahoma and just the fact that I moved to LA is like, holy shit. This is massive, but I wanted to make movies. I wanted to make a thing that I wrote directed. But I think on some level, I always, in my head, it was always going to be like a small thing, which I love. I love those movies. And then just because I was on Saturday Night Live and they were like, do you want to go have a meeting at HBO? And then during this meeting at HBO, it kind of came out, didn't think about it. I just said, oh, I like to direct the pilot. It was like with your rejection before. I was like, no. I would like to direct the pilot though. And Alec Berg bless him was like, I think he could do it, but he's looking at me like, can you do it? I was like, no, I'm going to do it. I'd like to do it. And

If I told you, Trey, you can watch football, but you can't hold on to your remote control. Could you do it? Well, Paul, I could, and I'll tell you why, 'cause I got a big screen TV in the middle in two 35 inch TV. But I can tell you what. There's not a chance in the world, I could watch football on a Saturday afternoon or Saturday night without flipping channel. And I mean, I'm watching games, I don't know anything about, but we're all watching the same thing and watching the scores. And I remember last year, I was watching the end of a really good SEC game, and then I saw that NC state was about to be Clemson. I mean, I raced over there, then I raced back to the SEC. What Did Mike Rowe Think He Would Be When He Grew Up?

"Show. I'm interviewing Mike Rowe, who has a show on TBN, at least they tell me, because I have yet to see it. But it's called the story behind the story. It airs Saturday nights at 9 p.m.. Now, Mike Rowe, you saw in between the commercial break or whatever this was. Your friend and mine, Matt crouch, came on and told me off camera, everything might just said, is wrong, this whole thing is his idea, whatever. And I'm not surprised to hear that because you're a humble guy, you know, when I ask you who you are, you tell me your parents and stuff. That's who you are, and it's why you're likeable to some. But I keep thinking that you, all the shows that you've done, including this one, there's a through line. And it's you. It's your appreciation for people and for jobs and for that kind of thing. So I have to ask you, when you were a kid, where did you grow up? And what did you think you would be doing in the future? I grew up on a little farm in Baltimore, Maryland next to a genius named Carl noble, who happened to be my grandfather, I'm going to stick this back in my ear again real quick and begged to be grandfather was Carl noble, the genius, and you lived next door to him, okay? Carl noble could build a house without a blueprint, right? He was that guy. He only went to the 7th grade, but by the time he was 30, he was a master electrician, plumber steam fitter pipe that the guy could fix build, repair, fabricate anything. My assumption as a kid was that I'd follow in his footsteps. The handy gene tragically is recessive, so I did not get the requisite skills necessary to fulfill my early dream and upon his recommendation I got a different toolbox and got into this crazy industry and began working. Dirty jobs, many years later was a tribute to him, so too was the micro works foundation, which I'm pleased to say is offering another round of work ethic scholarships. If you're viewers are interested, they should apply for one of those things. We give away a million bucks a year.

Mike Rowe Has a New Show: 'The Story Behind the Story'

"Mike Rowe, welcome. Eric, what a pleasure to be here with you and you're literally dozens of viewers. I can't wait. Uh, yes. And isn't it sad that you have to come on a show this low rated to pump up your show that the barely exists? Now listen, pal, I've had it with you. I'd fire him. Is it really going to be like this for 25 minutes? No, no, he couldn't be. He couldn't be. We would die. Here's the issue. Here's the issue. I like you so much. My love language is to make fun of people in public. That's how you know I like you. I like you. But let me like you back. Let me just say to the audience because I believe there's a couple of people tuning in, that the reason I'm talking to you today is because you're launching a show on this very network. It's called the story behind the story behind the story behind the story behind the story. It airs Saturday nights at 9 p.m.. That's basically, that's like, that's a big time on TV. A lot of people are going to watch your show. Don't get nervous. But I think it's just something. Here's my issue. Got it. I want to know about this show. But before I ask you about this show, don't do me a favor, do my audience for most people know who you are. But if somebody says to you, Mike Rowe, who are you, what are you known for? What do you say? I'm dying to hear this. Oh, son of John and Margaret. One of three boys, the oldest. And not necessarily the most successful, but certainly the busiest. You may know me from shows like dirty jobs. Somebody's got to do it. Returning the favor. A podcast called the way I heard it, a foundation called micro works, various and sundry endorsement deals with all sorts of corporations that will ring a bell. And that kind of thing. With corporations in the business. You're not a great artist like Al sharpton, like going to companies and telling them. No, not like the Al sharpton and I are often confused. Not exactly like

"Were you at The White House correspondents association dinner on Saturday night? I was not now. I won neither. I wasn't invited. I went 6 years ago and said, this is really, this is the regime. This is the gathering in of the over class. And I'm using that advisory. It's just the permanent government. I don't think it's a deep state, like turkey has or like Russia has. I think it's an over class. And they get together once a year and they celebrate their over a class Ness. And it's not very classy, but it is dominant. You did not hear much about the founding values that you would see held up at restoring America. So my question is, who is going to write for restoring America? 'cause you can't to go to that dinner is almost to take you off of Tom Rogan's radar, I think. Well, you know, obviously, I think one of the issues here, you know, people like to go work with some are examiner, racist, of course. There are some great reporters, but that group in Kellerman, I think, look at The White House press briefing room, right? That it does pervade. So we're showing America it is a work in progress. What we want to do is just build up some of the top thinkers in conservative thought, both on the kind of think tank side, but in media. We've had politicians already senator Rubio's written for us and Andy McCarthy, I hope, is going to be starting writing for us a Deborah so on some of the social policy areas. John Bolton, got a piece. So really what we want to do is just try to attract these thinkers and say to them, what are my key pictures is I can pay, I can pay people to do it, which they deserve for their time. And secondly, I'm not going to edit you and my colleagues are not going to edit you excessively. We want you to make a robust argument and feel free to kind of run with it. Again, because what is the central plank over restoring America as idea? Free debate, dialog discussion,

"Just wanted to ask as I've gotten more and more involved in politics and watching podcasts. I listen to two or three podcasts today. Option times. How do you keep your heart from getting hardened and wanting to be Jesus flipping over the tables, but like 24/7. Yeah, well, that's a great question. I'll give you a biblical answer to it. Last July, I was having a very difficult time. So with this. So I do three podcasts a day. I do three hours of radio a day. I spoke at 330 places last year on the road. We have 250 people on staff, got to raise a bunch of money, plus I got to deal with all the fun people The New York Times trying to destroy my life every single day, right? Amongst other things. So it's a lot, right? And not to mention, not exactly an uplifting news cycle, the last year and a half, right? It's just another kind of awful thing that one of the other. And I was talking to a pastor friend of mine in New York City. I was telling him this. And he just asked me, said, are you honoring the Sabbath? I said, no, I like I'm kind of doing a Sabbath ish thing, right? Kind of very, you know. And he said, you should really consider it. And so I did. And so every Friday night, I took a Jewish Sabbath. I turned my phone off completely. I'm unreachable, unreachable by the world. And from Friday night to Saturday night. And so I started doing it. It was really hard at first, but I just do it religiously, regardless of where I am. No one can contact me. No one can. And I just read a take notes, whatever. And it's been an unbelievable blessing.

President Trump Explains His Endorsement of J. D. Vance

"I want to play for you what president Trump said over the weekend. He had a big rally Saturday night in Ohio. Delaware county fairgrounds. And he was there on behalf of JD JD Vance. Now, JD Vance was a never trumper. He trash talked Trump early on, didn't want him, didn't like him. Listen to how president Trump explains his endorsement of JD Vance in the Ohio Senate race. I'm very pleased to introduce the man with by far the best chance to defeat the radical Democrat nominee for the U.S. Senate. This November. And you know what? You know what? He's a guy that said some bad about me. He did. But you know what? Every one or the others did also. In fact, if I went by that standard, I don't think I would have ever endorsed anybody in the country. They all said bad, but they all came back. But I will tell you, he was tough, but the others were tough and they all, a lot of them said, some really bad things. And ultimately, I put that aside, by the way, he's been like incredible in the last period of time, long period of time. And so have the others, for the most part, I guess in all cases, the others. But I have to do what I have to do. We have to pick somebody that could win. And this guy is, he's tough. He's smart. He's a former marine. He's a Yale educated lawyer, a great student, you know, went to Yale, got a law degree. He's a great student. He's a fearless maga fighter. He fights like crazy and he loves Ohio and he frankly, he's a great Buckeye. So what I'd like to do is ask JD Vance. Come

"Movies will forever change and how they use guns and criminal suits, civil suits, and lawsuits will be filed for the next 5 to 6 years. It's not funny, but it is kind of calming. It's not funny at all. But when you stop and think and go, wait a minute, Alec Baldwin is responsible for putting people on this movie who were scabs and in doing so, he put someone in charge who wasn't ready for the job of ultimately loading a gun that he was gonna fire. So yes, you have to blame him in a large sense. I'm not calling him a murderer. You wanna say it's manslaughter? Yeah, I totally understand that. There was no criminal or evil intent. But the blame has to fall somewhere and I think Hannah Gutierrez read and this guy hauled the first AD or fucked their careers are ruined and Baldwin's career is gonna suffer for a long, long time. You know, Hollywood liberals, they love Alec Baldwin, we know this, and if anybody can come back from this, he can because of all the backing he has. But Hollywood liberals, they rail against guns, yet they make movies with guns. They hate cops yet they use security gods on private details. They hire inexperienced armorers and assistant directors and they neglect safety trainings and protocols. They overwork their crews, they generally have little respect for proper gun handling on their sets. And what's happened at that New Mexico ranch is going to be known as a very harsh and cruel lesson for all of Hollywood to have to go through. But tough shit. It had to happen and it's happened. Let's see if they change their ways. But boy, these people weren't paid for three weeks. They couldn't get the right lodging. The COVID-19 protocols were all messy, so they walked off the set. Ultimately, that's on Alec Baldwin's shoulders. Even before the gun was fired, he was fucking up. You know why? He was in a hurry. Low budget movie on to the next thing on to the next thing. I'm a tough guy. I'm an alpha male. I'm combustible. I know

"Nothing happened that day thank God. But the prop master or armorer who gave that gun to Alec Baldwin have you seen this? seen this winter? Some typical. Oh, God. Multi tattooed, heavy set check, piercings, all over by. It doesn't look the part of anyone you'd want in charge of the workings of a handgun on set. But she's the daughter of a man who's always been regarded as the best armorer in Hollywood. Now this gun armorer and the assistant director who gave this fatal gun to bull and have been identified, she's had a Gutierrez, she laid out three prop guns on a cart outside the filming location, and the first AD, Dave halls, grabbed the gun from the cart, brought it inside to Baldwin, unaware that it was loaded. But he shouted cold gun before he handed it to Baldwin. And that's, again, that's the phrase to signal to everybody in the cast and crew that this going to save to fire for the scene. That's what is known as the right protocol on a movie set. So you can blame Baldwin all you want, but when you get the good word from the prop master and the first AD, I guess you could check again as the final actor holding the gun, but Jesus Christ, you know, you're being told it's safe and if I'm Baldwin, I'm not sure if I'm gonna say, I want this checked again. I don't know. And knowing the kind of hurry he's always in and knowing that there was a lot of shit on that film set that many, many workers walked off the set, you heard that for me for anybody, they brought in scabs to work the rest of the shoot. This same gun had problems in October at misfired. It was a problem with the gun last week. So Baldwin and maybe not just him, but he's executive producer. He brings in other people from outside the union to do this shoot. This low budget movie.

"Never aim at anyone and always treat the gun as if it's loaded. But we don't know what the shot was yet. What was he asked to do in the script? Was it one of those shots which I've heard it may be with a camera is shooting right down the barrel of the gun in which case there is typically a sheet of almost bulletproof glass. I forget the name of right now, but they placed that in front of the camera lens. And if he was supposed to pull the trigger in that type of shot, well, that would explain how that live round went right through the cinematographer's chest and entered the shoulder of the director behind her. But we don't really know yet because the media, if they have asked that question, they haven't gotten an answer yet. What we do know is that there was a live round in the gun. And remember, there is no such thing as prop guns, old guns are guns. I've handled guns three times in the 9 movies I've worked in. It's pretty much a lot. That's the third of my anyhow. I fired them twice. Once I used the shotgun to fire into the trunk, we were doing a short film, which was really funny called script fellas, which opens up in the same way Goodfellas did with Ray Liotta driving the car, De Niro in the passenger seat, and Joe Pesci in the back with the great Frank Vincent dying in the trunk. And when he starts banging around the trunk, they pull the car over. And it was me and Al sapiens. I forget who played Joe Pesci sounded just like him. And we basically did imitations of that scene. Seeing word for word line for line, the same car, the same lock, the same shot, the director stole it and did it exactly the same. And I'm the guy who fired the shotgun into that body in the back in the trunk. Along meeting took place before that. I was gun safety. I remember it was cold. We did it in apple Orchard. I wasn't even in LA, maybe a year. I hadn't known the land yet, where we were, but man, that meeting was so goddamn important. I'm thinking, all right, it's blanks. What the fuck's gonna happen? I didn't know all these things could happen. I mean, I know about John Aaron pets and Brandon Lee. And I'm like, I'm gonna do a show on John Ericsson tomorrow. I knew about that, but still, it wasn't gonna happen to me. I'm not even aiming at him. I didn't even tell the left. I'm not gonna kill the guy, but whatever. It's a long meeting. And I remember the last time I had a gun, that was wielding an unloaded shotgun that some hostages I took in a diner and a film you'll never see, I can't find it.

"Explodes, working girl, beetlejuice, talk radio, and the list goes on and on and on. But I saw how he walked back then. And then having had the luck to live in the same city as him and eat at the same restaurants as we grew older. I got to see him often at Nick's games where he yelled like a regular Joe from Long Island. But you could always see the passion. He always seemed in a hurry to get somewhere. I interviewed him once on the phone and we got to talking about his being with Kim Basinger. And I said to him, I have a cardboard cutout of Kim in my office right now. She's in the nude, but your hands over her breasts. It's that ad she did for people for the ethical treatment of animals. And he loved it. He laughed. He said, I got the real thing right next to me. We may not have beaten you in football, but I got the girl, man. I got the girl. He was a ball breaker. He is a ball breaker. He's a fast mover. And as much as I hated seeing him do that awful impression of Trump on SNL, I can at least balance it against all the great film work he did over the years and how he was always a great SNL host for that matter. I mean, for a very long time, if you were a guy, you wanted to be Alec Baldwin. Even when he got ugly with the Kim Basinger divorce, like I said and he said those harsh words on the phone to his daughter. It hurt to hear that. But it sure showed you how bad the voice could get between two people. Even when he made a mistake, he was teaching other people a lesson. But then he rebounds and he marries at the time, many of us felt another beauty, damn. He hooked another one. Who's this hilarious? Who is this chick? So young, so gorgeous. I mean, now we know what to be a phony, and we've come to denounce his protecting her bullshit airs and outright lies. But if you were ever in a bad spot, you'd kind of want his unwavering spirit with you. Wouldn't you?

"It's why there's no wonder a guy like chuck zito, the vice president of the hells angels and a man with more than a couple of horseshoes up his ass, knocked us both out in the back room at the same strip club on different nights. Now that night had I hit my head right after his right hand smashed me on the button by my chin, if I hit my head and died, then that horseshoes luck would have run out on old chuck. But his tough associate Johnny C, caught me and let me down easy on the cement floor. Now, Alex Baldwin and I never had a fight. But we had words as far back as 1983. I'm studying with my acting coach and New York City, wonderful old Russian woman Mira stover taught Monte cliff, you know, talk Brando a bit, but mainly Monte cliff and Baldwin was one of the actors who'd come to Mira's class to stay sharp to work on a particular part or a scene. And then, you know, he'd mix in with us newcomers, the up and comers, the nobody's. The nobody who believed just as he had that they too could be a somebody. Because at the root of all this anger and combustion is what really is with Marlon Brando delivered in the backseat to Rod Steiger and on the waterfront. Remember Charlie milloy Rod Steiger doesn't look. Can I know how much your way? Slick, okay? When you wait, one in 68 pounds, you were beautiful. You could have beaten Billy Kahn. And that skunk we got for a manager for you. He brought you along too fast and Terry malloy, the beautiful brand on the back seat. It wasn't him, Charlie was you. That night in the garden you came down to my dressing room and told me kid this singular night we're going for a price on Wilson. You remember that? This ain't your night. I could have taken Wilson apart. So what happens? He gets a Tyler shout out doors and a ballpark with a leg. One way tickets to palooza though. He was my brother, Charlie. You should have looked out for me a little bit. You should have taken care of me just a little bit so I wouldn't have to take them drive to the store then money. I have some bets down for you. You saw some money. You'll understand. This is everything guys. I could have had class. I could have been a contender. I could have been somebody instead of a bum, which is what I am. Let's face it. It was you, Charlie. A lot of us in that class felt that way and acting was a way up and out from whatever weight we felt we were under. I know I'm getting off the point and listen. So Alex sat in one day in the class, the class was fucking $10 a day. We $10 for three hours of acting with an amazing coach. Three hours, ten bucks. Just your

"But as usual with the left leaning mainstream media, they're telling you the Hollywood version. The Hollywood version of the Alec Baldwin story is that the actor killed a woman with a prop gun and a blank and therefore he's not in full. The true story is that Baldwin shocked two people with a real gun and ultimately did not follow safety rules. Now, there are all sorts of pieces of bullshit in the middle. There are a lot of negligent things that happen between the gun being loaded and then being handed to the first AD and wait till you hear about the girl who fucking loaded this thing, boy, what a loser. And then that first AD handing it to Alec and allegedly yelling Cole gun. Which is to say not loaded with real bullets. The media version is the crew made a mistake and gave the act of one live round of ammo that shocked two people. The factual version is no one knows what was in the gun. And on top of that, the term prop gun just means a gun. A gun that is being used in the entertainment industry. But, you know, most people think all prop guns are toys or fake models. They're plastic. No, no, no, no. No, this is because as usual, not many people in the news business bother to check or ask or investigate whatever the hell they're supposedly reporting on. The Christ's sake, if I had global when I was a reporter, well, I would have been that much better. These people are just flat out lazy. How many times do I have to say the news media is filled with schmucks? I have to say it all the time. It's the same thing as telling your kid to be careful when they take the car. Or when they sleep over a friend's house, or any other time a parent, meaning one of us who has had more experience in life has the duty. And honor to remind them that, hey, you don't know this shit, but our time here is very fleeting. It has as much to do with luck as it does genes diet or exercise you name it. I always felt lucky as a kid, always. I escaped my lion's share of bad shit. And my mother would remind me, boy oh boy, you got a horseshoe up your ass this big. Don't push it, mister. I still feel the horseshoe up there somewhere. I know it's there. Now, horseshoes up the ass. I'm not necessarily hereditary. So I always tell my kids even when they're doing the simplest things like crossing the street. Hey, look at me. Head on a swivel. Where are you? Where you going? Chin up. Rock out. Look at me. Roxie, hey, you know. Much of the terrible situation that occurred at that New Mexico ranch where they were filming the movie rust, which you'll never ever see because it won't be finished. Where that young promising cinematographer was killed from the bullet fired from Baldwin, this all clipping avoided is some people could have remembered to be careful. And not only that, but tell other younger, inexperienced people on the set, hey, be careful. Chin up. What are you doing? Where are you going? And also, if Alec Baldwin didn't also grow up with a horseshoe up his ass too, it might be different. But I know he did.

"So I take the whole check. Thousands, here's a check for 18,000 from E for international royalty. Cash it. You cash it. Let me walk around with fucking 9 ten grand in my pocket. I'll go outside and spend two or three. I just felt like, okay, I know why I work the way I do. It did something to the way I walked into a room. It did something in the way of war a parish pants or a pair of shoes or jacket. I can't describe it, but it did. I'm lying if I say it, and it did. A swagger a style, when money is just numbers on the Internet stand back at you in an app. It don't mean as much. And as a result, I think that's why life has become much more important than those numbers. I don't carry around a lot of money in my pocket anymore. I'll have to carry anything. I make Harry 20 bucks in my wallet. And the rest is just credit cards. Matter of fact, it's not even a wow. Just holds credit cards. But I know the number in my head, I know what I got every month. I kind of can figure it out. I watch it go down like we all do. I don't want to take the foot off the gas and, you know, when I can hit a little harder, I know. But the real payday, and this end of this show, the real payday in this job is when I get done and I feel like I nailed it. When I feel like I got good wood on the ball, and I know the sound of that immediately. It's like hitting a home run. Those of you out there that have hit a home run that really connected with the baseball. You know that feeling. Good wood on a ball feels the ball feels like nothing. It feels like you almost hit a cotton ball. You can hit a ground ball on the bowl fell ten pounds. A home run the ball feels like an ounce. It's so sweet. That's what this show is like for me on some moments when I know I got one good swing at the ball. That's my payday. Like yesterday. Yesterday was one of those moments talking about Tommy Deluca. May not have been a great moment for you. I'm not saying that you should think the same as me, but for me, that was a good moment for me. I got good one in the ball. But either way, that's my payday, not the numbers on the screen, the letters from you, the quotes, the messages, the text, the emails, the people tell me they're gonna drive by beeville, Texas, and pray for Tommy. There's so many things you people do for me in the day. I could not be luckier. And I can't imagine doing that doing this. For close to 60 years, like Charlie did. And feeling like he must have felt every day. Wow, what a great feeling. To know you're doing something in so many people like. You're not, you're not a 100,000 fans screaming in an arena. But I hear you and I see you and it's an all day thing. It's an all day love affair. The morning Patreon comments, the midday Facebook, the later day Instagram, the emails, the text of taking look at this article AJ and what's happening with Kotlin, AJ, that man, your old part of this show. Now for crying again, but you are just as important as I am.

George bust had retired, and he was asked, how come you're not rich? And he said, well, I spent a fortune on women in wine and betting and the rest I just wasted. And that's the way I'm thinking my rock and rollers live. I've hung out with Steve Tyler. I have one out with even Tom Jones. I've spent nights with those guys and many others. Billy Idol. I know all these fucking live. I know what's put in front of their face, man. Not by the night by the hour. And Charlie watch just love to go on stage. He loved the lights. He loved playing, but he did say that night. He absolutely hated to leave his house and tour. It took him weeks to pack a suitcase, couldn't stand the idea of walking out his front door to leave his home. To go play. I can totally identify with that. Because I never, ever enjoyed going to work when I was a married man because I was a Lola or Jennifer. I didn't like leaving home. I didn't like getting home late. It really fucking bugged me. Again, unnecessary effort. I'll clean it up. It bugged me, man. You know, when I was single, New York City, daily news, New York newsday. At E in LA, I couldn't wait to get out of my house and hop in a cab or hop in my fucking Cadillac and get to the daily news or newsday or the E. Newsroom. I loved it. I love that energy of people and ideas and young and beautiful women and young guys and especially New York. I loved feeding the city. I love being a part of that engine that runs the city and gives it its beat and its heat and its momentum and its power. That's what newspapers used to do. Before the heroin kicks in, and we're talking, you know, he told me about being younger with Mick Jagger and McKenna lease on a place, a very cheap place. We have a 20, 21 years old. They all lived in and basically they paid nothing. They had a tin cans. Everything you could imagine, very poor, bunch of blokes, right? And they kept playing Muddy Waters music because I had asked him, how did you learn to drum? I was friends with Tico Torres at that time, the Bon Jovi drummer. I'm fascinated by drummer. My father told me about gene Cooper and Buddy Rich and I feel like I could have been a great drummer. I really feel like I had that rhythm I never get into it. My mother said, you know how fucking loud that's gonna be a drum setting this out, that's all I need. And then I have a drum. I took up the trumpet. And I was good at that too. Either way. He said they played Muddy Waters all day long, and then Mick tried to get trolley to like Elvis Presley and Charlie wouldn't like Elvis and he found that very funny and then eventually he found that Elvis was not Miles Davis or Fats Domino who he would have preferred, but he said, you know what? I did understand the genius of all this Presley. I got it. But what's more amazing to me about Charlie Watts? I don't have a brilliant story from that night, just that he was there.

And Tom and I have kept in touch over the years, like crazy. I mean, he is my oldest friend. It's insane. 54 years and we still talk from time to time and we act like literally no time has passed. Nothing's changed. We can bring up a story and miss pisco is 6th grade class when so and so set on a pen and it went up for us in the back sofa. We were in this advanced class in 6th grade this instructional new thing that our fancy teacher Gail pesky invented. And basically, in her school, her classroom was, it started in 5th grade, and I was there for that year too. I had it for two years. She was a head over time. She said, I'm gonna give these kids the curriculum for the year. And they can come into my classroom and do whatever they want. But they know what they have to give. They know what they have to finish and what they have to hand in by certain dates. But I'm not going to be up the rest. I'm going to show you that these young children can do this kind of thing. And they can work together. They can help each other on a project that can help each other run book report. I want to see the cooperation between young minds. No one had done that. And we were like 20 handpicked kids. I don't know why we picked Todd and I matched up. And we were great. We flew through with flying colors. It was great to just sit back. There was a fucking sofa in the back of the room. This is 1974. Sulfur is in rooms. Now that didn't happen in classrooms. That's why I said that girl said in a pen because the salt depend went through the cushions of the soul and I figured the Kathy Hoff maybe, I don't know. She shot on the pen and went up her ass. Could you imagine this? Okay, anyhow, big tangent.

"And his mother and father literally had no say. If Jerry said, open house at my house, Saturday night, bring your own beer, it was open house. His parents had absolutely no say. They were a little Italian immigrants and Jerry just lorded over them. And every time Jerry threw a party, he'd have these two big cans that we had to put our beer caps in. He insisted on it. It is crazy he was. There was no beer capsule out on the lawn in the backyard. Not on the patio. You put the beer cap in one of the barrels. And when I tell you these barrels, these big drums were a filled up of caps. I ain't lying. Every two or three weeks has gotten a little bit house. And his thing was, Jerry had this big old oak tree in his backyard. Jerry lived in the north side of the tracks. North of Utah, north of util drive. It was a different type of west Iceland. I live south in the traps like Mike. We lived south of montauk, south of sunrise highway. As you win more south, there was more money because the canal and the bay, the great south bay in the hospital and the library. Everything was there. Not that we had any money, but you know, I might grow up with some money. His father did very well, but we didn't. But we just barely survived in this bucolic neighborhood. You go north north of sunrise highway, now you're talking about the kids, you know, leather jackets, dung to be jackets, they smoke and play handball, they smoke weed. Jerry is one of those kids. Jerry would at the beginning or middle of his party when he thought it was right. He would climb this giant oak tree. I'm talking 30, 40 feet in the air. Easy, easy guys. Easy. I got 50 year old tree. First, he would put on shirt after shirt after sharp until he had about 8 layers of shards, including a coat. It didn't matter if it was July or December. He'd climb this tree, he'd like, he'd like nailed some planks of wood so he could step up it in the beginning, and then he just went up the limbs like a monkey.

"And how could I not want to tap into that? If I just keep telling you about Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker or Kanye West making getting mad at a record label because they released this record donda too early. What is everything going to do to your heart? I mean, what's that gonna do? So sometimes I need to be fed and I don't do these things on purpose, but the story comes in my head. I want to tell it to you. It made sense wrapped around the dead wonderful marines. And it reached you. And for that, I am very grateful. Because you'd be surprised some of the shit that gets said to me online that I race because, you know, I used to go bananas over this shit, but when people just say stupid shit, I don't care anymore 'cause they don't know me. I mean, sometimes it gets me. But I did a little thing on Facebook yesterday. I did a video of tootsie chasing a tennis ball, but not coming back with the ball. I played sex with her. I throw the ball, she runs the ball, she comes back with nothing in her mouth. And I mean, I made a joke about that. I talked in her voice. You know, someone sends me a message. You're obviously drunk. Go back and sign. Meanwhile, this video has made it like ten 40 in the morning. Just playing with my dog. And whatever. So the positive things I get from you guys far outweigh those idiots who when I search them up had like three followers and I don't know who these are just crazy people. They're crazy people. They don't get the show. And that's cool. Talking about Tommy Deluca, it made me think of some other amazing people I went to school with. And I promise there's like two or three gossip stories at the end of the show that are fun and we'll have a good time. We'll laugh about fucking Hollywood. One guy that I wanted to talk about, the absolute opposite of a wonderful guy like Tommy Deluca, straight a student, two sport athlete, Annapolis, scholarship, fighter jet, you know, drove a Corvette as his graduation president, just amazing kid. Then we had this kid named Jerry Sam pone. Who was a wrestler, that's all he could do. He was a fighter.

"So what. We're drinking we. We've got one share tonight. That was bringing to the panel. I was trying to remember the name of it but besides suicide squad. They're like yeah. That's not actually the official title. The team. it's a task force x four x so get killed in honor of that. We've got from ardent so varies because local like richmond specific arden's ip a x. As an option for us keeping in theme and locally as well i will say well. Here's the thing. I'm very picky with. Ip as this isn't ruining my life like my phd where it's so hop heavy. That i can't handle it. I drink this. It's not something. I would order myself. Necessarily it's it's just okay. Yeah i would say this is the first team to aside squad violated is a man like you're excited to meet them like it. It's not a bad time. You're really excited to see their interpersonal relationships and stuff but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter to the plot that's as downfield about it. Oh giving my pensions. Where i like. Ipa's i this would not be my go-to for an a low ab iba. That is if i were to go to support local in richmond. That's what i wanna say. Sometimes my i get entertained by watching when the hobbit will introduce things and you hate it and talk down to it so it's kind of hoping that the local business. I won't do that because when you all both like it. It's calm kind of disappointed with the best way that i could approach. This is that there's nothing bad about this beer. No it's not. It's not so heavy that is going to ruin your life after one beer. You could have probably multiple and be okay. it's not as fruitful fruit focus. I like my as but i liked that lighter. Welcome here that's right. You brought that shit bez right at level but this is this is this is more that that more traditional west coast west coast on it. But it's not handed. It's not like a dogfish head kind of approach to the heavy and you know what's crazy is it has the only two hops are listed on the can are the two like staples now for the style of ip. That i bring here from other places. Okay i'm yeah these two. I've these two hops sitter and mosaic. Yeah they're like they're like made to be married in celestial Granted this isn't as heavy as some of the as far as but i mean there are places seven point one which is not. What else is seven point one that has Falcon smash and that is local to and it. Is it like curb. Stomps also like coca cola. But i'll drink pepsi and by that is that is not accurate. Compared to this is like it's curves. Thompsons beer harrigan. Sorry i'm saying you gotta gotta gotta have some versatility there. As far as like. I like a lot of stoute's. But then i pick the best out and that's all i drink that i would say if you have Ex you're not going to have a bad time. No no. I didn't mean a fine. It's what you know what you're really groundbreaking especially with how many breeze and richmond are doing. Ipa's right now or ever thing is the thing to do is i have. I have definitely strong feelings about One big libary that almost only does ip and how much suck and how much nobody is mentioning how much they suck. It is the one that that's something that you wear on your wedding day with the whale on the same page. Nothing it's not. it's not a horror it like. This is a great intro for somebody especially like it's not offensive. Actually getting in our illness it is. It is solid is just i m a boozy bitch and i admit that. And so that's where my opinion comes from. Real opinion factual ping. Is this a solid drink. This is a solid drinkable. It's a session. Ym it really is all jokes aside. It's a session like those that do like the whale like i. That's a personal fucking. That's that's what. I fucking love about both like the conversation about this movie that we're going into and also beer in general is that everybody's tastes are very different. The first suicide squad was way better than this one. And i'm like you're insane. Person stand you. I am so fascinated by the snyder. Cut people who review bombed it at. I think that somehow should have been an extension of the original movie. Their original movies a chore to watch it or i'm confused by the people that fucking hate this movie like you know. I've seen a few posts in like. Oh what was that. I'm like do not see the same accidentally. Watch the first movie and didn't rise because this this one is legit. I look a little closer to actually. It says twenty twenty one like if you were confused. Hbo the original says twenty six thirteen or seventeen respond with the one with harlequin. Yeah got it now. I like this one actually says when you go because i started watching it yesterday it twenty twenty like it's it's you're watching the right one watching this one was a weird experience for me because it has problems but the pieces are so much greater than the problems in this one that it's absolutely delightful. Oh yeah it just plays like a like an independent movie. In my opinion it does not play like a big studio blockbuster because the dialogue really point how like it goes through it literally it. I i said it's like scott pilgrim meets. The boys meets super is the best way to put it. What a dozen have is harlequin breaking the window of fucking fashion shop to get a person going. We're bad guys. That's what we do diminishing your character to a level of a fucking shoplifter but what it does have is as soon as she spends the whole day with this like the most powerful person in this particular country where they're trying to find starfish alien she fucking spend a day with him. She gets that dick and then she murder up. No she gets her. Ron saw yes then. She murders him so on board with the fucking empowered post joker fucking bat shit insane harlequin. This is the best. That's harley quinn. To me that is the best. I've never quit attached to jokers hip. I've always dug harlequin when she's been on linda's too cool to be just a side note to jokers. Cain aside bitch this clearly they want they want. They wanted to often the first one as a side interest not interesting aside relationship. The harlequin has ever had is fucking poison. Ivy and not joker. They gave the movie. Please ask for a punisher. Seeing the did they gave her where he gave you the shocking jail hallway see differences. And she's over being a fucking ball where you know we're frank castle is just. I'm killing the fuck do you and your new. She's like you're next. Oh you there. Like having fun as she's murdering the fuck out of so many people so they give him some in show like when it happens and daredevil season two when franks jail and he has that hallway scene. There's a moment where. Franks like split second thing but you see you see. John burnt all go. Like no right. And we're just going to go into. There's a scene where like she's kinda like it's kinda like cutie at first and then when she kicks the door open it's like that was her moment. Where the same thing as frank face like here we go. And she's just kicks the door open and from then on she's.

"Slash apathetic enthusiasm every Monday to. Every Monday. Sat TV's last apple. There were there were a couple of the skits last little bit about snl on on here I thought it was I thought it was interesting. There were forced to do this this. This video Webcam, type comedy, and they did a good job of of using it as a kind of like. A themed they themed at around that A good handled pan full-time like zoom. Zoom being awkward or. The. You talk about the sports this the sports announcers being bored. You didn't get the you didn't get. There's a sketch like that as well Oh is there. Out to go back out and we'll tell you that the zoom sketch with to ladies from the office that are like the older ladies that don't quite understand how to use zoom. Spot a lovely. There's a lovely woman that I work with she. She is a receptionist who joined zoom calls weekly for a staff meeting. She is a delight but. How how that sketch resonates with me and not just with her but with just multiple people in the office who all have different levels of competency. It's it's terrific. I love it. I love it did did you did you get the the one with Mikey day where he is a live streamer a- Gamer? No I'll have to. That's That's a that's a good one. He's like hey. Time to play call of duty warzone I've I haven't played this one yet guys but I'm Gonna I'm GonNa, give it a shot. And so it just it just progresses from there and it it's just it's like spot on. But No I. Saw I saw the Bernie Sanders. Special Message I saw the zoom call I saw the drake song one. I saw working out with repeater GINSBURG. That's against burn. GETS AGAINST BURN So, yes. This solid stuff on the oldest now. Yeah. Yeah. It does all that stuff going back to it reminds me that we. It's Kind of went the there was like a LIA legends skit a couple of months ago or or whenever was that it? It was so niche that I think a lot of people don't. Get that that is a real thing for some of those. Yeah Right. Yeah. Like a Mike Yeah, no I I completely get what what's happening here. In Blake my mom and dad would be like is that what is that Brentwood? Is that? So yeah it's I. Love when those sketches get through right? Where like somebody write something that is so now like that, but it's still still manages to get through the week of all the rewrites and cuts and things like that, and you get like a a unique little little commentary on something that you you may be in a small group of people that understand what they're talking about. It is now time for a puppet up up up up up..
