Well, you brought her in, so I I was like I got a call, it yeah. Well. I got some stuff I got stuff that we can do in my defense. I've been Hor showing all week. I haven't even really been able to post about it on social media because that's how busy a horror show is, it's literally all week long days start at five am and usually don't end until about seven or eight PM, and then I also have horses at home to take care of and such it's been. Been, a lot and I've been lucky to get in an episode or two of lost. You know what I'm saying I hear you well I got a bunch of stuff so great. We talked about this show. I feel like months ago, but I never got around to watching it. It's the show servant. It's a young couple who has a kid, and they hire a nanny and the nanny comes and come to find out. Out, the kid is dead and they have a doll and the woman hasn't liked a accepted that her son died, and they've got like this like very real looking doll and the husband's like. Hey, listen you. Guys got to kind of play along with the nanny in light. Until we get through this Kinda like snaps out of it. Here's the tag terrifying. Philadelphia couple is in mourning after an unspeakable tragedy creates a rift. Rift in their marriage, and opens the door for mysterious force to enter their home. Servant don't Apple TV. It's Lauren Ambrose. I don't know if you remember she was from can't hardly wait. She was the red headed girl. What's that key can't hardly wait a Jennifer Love Hewitt movie. You love some Jennifer love. Hewitt back in the day. You Brunette Oh my God. You don't understand she was. She was at the top of. The list when I was in high school for? And now she falls on instagram and like. Yeah I know it's the crazy anyway. She was Louis, which by the way you've been seen, hardly wait. Yeah. Moving Okay Jennifer, Love Hewitt Ethan, embry plays Preston Myers. He's Great Seth. Green is in a he's just are Kito. That's a fantastic ninety s fucking high school thing anyways. Servant is an m night. Shyamalan Ding Dong Ding Dong thing. And there's API. Yeah, there's twists and turns and weirdness, but here's what I love about the show aside from the fact that it's really creepy weird like what's going on here. The husband is a chef. Okay, he's like a personal chef and a lot of the show is him cooking. It's like a part of the thing you're watching like come hungry man good like what he's doing. He's doing it. Oh! Ron Weasley from Harry Potter. He plays the mother-in-law. The husband has it's amazing wine cellar, so they go down the wind, sailor and him Ron Weasley, drink, wine, and talk about like wine and stuff as you're watching it and I would watch. I want I to join you guys. anyways phenomenal show serving the the ending where I'm like. Obviously, he's in tooth situation where you're like what yeah I do like him nice. Shamlan maybe I'll check it out. Amazing speaking ships. Your show beauty and the baker got cancel I. Know I saw that last night so sad. Yes, it wasn't tech after. I mean. There's good good and there's bad good. Let me have this bad good. Okay. Sarah. Sarah is devastated by this. Yes last night we were drunk. And she was like like. What happens like billion? BEEN CAN'T What a tragedy! Okay I got a reality show for you dude! Oh, I need a good reality so actually and I'm telling you. You might not aunt at first glance like this. Because, that's why I thought when I was it to Sarah Rouse. Like know if you're going to be into this as a boy show, but she's like in it with me. Have you heard of alone now? Holy Crap, Dude, okay, ten survival experts attempt to survive alone. The winner receives a half a million dollars so I'm on season six right now. was on Netflix have season six I. I gotTA figure out how to watch the other seasons. I thought you'd watch six seasons last week, and I'm like I'm sorry. Okay, so it's it's Kinda like naked and afraid, and like bear grylls, and like it's kind of like that survive, so it's it's ten survival expert like all of them are like. Hunters and wilderness experts and everything they get to bring ten items with them, and in season six. They go to the fucking Arctic. Bro, they go up north and they put them around this giant lake all around the lake, but they're not. They never come in contact with one another. They give them sixty pounds of camera gear, and they have to film themselves every single day doing what they're doing. In the Arctic last one standing wins a half a million dollars. Did he other ones die? Everyone's got like a sat phone in the beginning. There's a bunch of people who get sick. They eat something that's got bacteria or parasites and they get sick. And just like throwing up and they're like passing out, and so they pick up the satphone. They're like I'm tapping out. I gotta go. It's begin. It's amazing. Here's the thing that's kind of sad. You see them kill the animals that they have to kill to survive now that I know for so separated from food now you don't experience you know if you go hunting and you see an animal die. You've a lot more respect for it when you eat it then if you just go to the grocery store and. And, so there's a little bit of that, but while watching it someone who grew up as a duck hunter with my dad watching it I was like you know what I wanNA. Make a concerted effort to eat a lot less me. I don't need all this meat you know, but anyways you can get sick, but then then what happens is that these people fucking don't eat for like six on end because they can't catch a fish, or they can't snare rabbit or whatever they can't like bow and Arrow Moose. So, these just start will withering away. And then they have these like check with guys like the doctor will become and be like dude. You're about to go into Oregon failure. You have to tackle now and it's a lot of people. kind of going on crazy broke because like they are. The ages of these people would you say between twenty and fifty? Probably saying you fall in love with these characters? I'm rooting for this guy on route for this girl is chicks awesome and there's like there's to tell you. There's two tests people like the woodland..

"What they do is encourage exactly the kind of prejudging that you're describing here, assigning, everybody certain attributes because of the color of those, you can their sex, etc. The best comments though, was from one of these diversity trainers who said, I'm public radio, Minnesota public radio. Right. He said, well, you know, I mean suppose I a graduate with an MBA from Harvard, a young black man, you know, moves to Minnesota. Where is he gonna know how to find a good soul food for places that have jazz? Now magin if I were to make that payment of prejudgment. I'm on radio on air. I guess about almost crashed my car, I was supposed to do it in my car here. She is a filming that just because he's black. And I doubt that the average MBA from Harvard of any skin color as any specific food, liking music tastes. But they're she, they're that's exactly what she did. She didn't even see what was wrong with it, John, thank you, as always for the for. The for the phone call. I'm looking at Sarah rouse Twitter feed. Oh, yeah. It's, it's a cesspool. There's, there's a couple of white people always pick whiteness. White people have done everything to make my life miserable. Yet, I'm supposed to not hate white people. "This is David again from wine finder dot com today. We're doing another wine trader Joe's, again seems to be a good place to find an expensive wines. And the wine of the moment is the Grifoni nineteen sixty seven so Scott twenty four teen. There's a lot of numbers in there. And I will try to explain all that the first number that comes up is it costs five ninety nine which is kind of crazy for wine that is the two thousand fourteen vintage trader Joe's has been selling Grifoni wines for a while we done them on the web sites since. I don't know since the beginning two thousand nine I mean, we've did the the discount sixty seven for the two thousand eight vintage along time ago. Our just revisiting it, and there's a few things to know here. The nineteen sixty seven in the name refers to the first time this family made a super Tuscan wine in Tuscany and super Tuscan doesn't sound like a talion name. And here's the story behind super Tuscan wines because it's kinda interesting. It's one of those wind stories make a wine taste better. And this is way back then in Italy Chianti was the wine most popular wine, if you thought about Italian Red wines back then you thought of Chianti Santeuil in Chianti Tuscany region. And they were all the rage for a long time. And then it started to fade in other Weinstein detail over and in Italy, there is a DO C D O C G, which is the wine board who sets the rules and regulations for each one of their different regions. In California, the ABA's, and they are strictly boundaries. No one tells anyway, what to do other than some labeling things inside those boundaries in Sonoma County is this and insights and Oma county. There's no Moco st-, and it's that region by the coastal mountains and there's Russian river. And there's that region and dry creek, and whatever, but that's all it is. It's the areas now in Italy and also pretty much everywhere else in Europe of these these these DO CDC, jeez. The council's tell people how to grow the grapes how to make the wine hump in some cases, how many bottles to produce. How they kept to produce a worthy grapes can come from how they blended how much oak they get into detail and back in Tuscany, and where the Angelov as he was growing. That was starting to be a problem, the sand Jove AC wines, the Canty wines. They had a boom and like most booms the boom played out. And they were they weren't selling as much wine as they used to. And I'm going to take a sip because I usually can't get more than three minutes. Taking a here we go. And the rules and the regulations of the region didn't allow them to do anything other than what they always had been doing. So group of winemakers decided these are some of the high end vineyards high in I end. Wineries in us Guinea, they're going to try something different. And they blended Sanjay Basie with some French grapes. Bordeaux grapes. Sarah rouse from the Rhone. And just, you know, just to add that it's it's a brighter wine wasn't as heavily ocht as the counties were and they sold like crazy. The problem is they didn't. They didn't go by the standard of the DO DO C G. And if you don't go by their standards, you are rated a table wine, which in Europe table wine isn't thought of ERI nicely in California and Washington and Oregon there is no different categories from two buck Chuck to screaming eagle. They're all table wines. It doesn't matter. But in Italy. And you know, it does matter. So there was a problem. These wines are flying off the shelf is super Tuscan wines. And it got the name because it's about the same time as the Super Bowl, and you know, superman was jumping out of the comic books in the movies. It was a super kind of time, and that's a super cut in name for a super kinda wine, and they were so like crazy their table wines in for the D O C D O C G G Stanford guaranteed is the highest rate in Doug nation Italy. Having a table wine outsell there. Otherwise was kinda like why are you promoting the the expense of DO CDC g winds of table wine is and for the wind stores like most wind collectors knew what was going on with the wine, and why it was a table one. But you can't charge a lot for a table wine. So what they did is they came up with a classification called the the time of I g t and now it's GP. The European Union standardize all the regulations across the board and the change the names of everything so GP wine, which is a wine that is of the region, but doesn't conform to the rules. And nowadays, you'll find tons of wine to do that. And what that does is the traditional wines will keep being traditional and keeping the high standards, and it gives the winemakers a place where creativity where they can try something new, and they can sell it could be popular gives them an outlet. A so it works for everyone. And this is a two thousand fourteen wine for five ninety nine five years of bodily age on a five ninety nine wine is kind of crazy. I don't know how they do it. Because not only do they have to sit in for five years. They have to ship it over here. Then asked to get all the trader Joe's stores, and everybody's making money Smith be a wine they may three cents because by the time everybody else takes their cut. There's nothing left, and it does not taste like taste. Not bad. It's a really good everyday want it soft. It's smooth. And that's not a bad thing for five ninety nine one. It's got some bright flavors, and I'm gonna take another sip. Because I think it was three minutes ago. I took the other one there you go. I'm I'm gonna schedule.

"Welcome back to American billiard radio today is Thursday, April fourth for this episode. We have a conversation with the new owner of hard times billiards in Sacramento, California. Oscar Dominquez Oscar says that ends of April fifteenth he'll be taking over ownership of the room. I do want to send a thank you out to hope. I don't butcher this. Michael Rangel, salmon, Mike, sent me a note suggesting Oscar for an interview and Oscar was of course, very willing to sit down and donate some time to us before we get to Oscar though, we've got some results we've got some champions. David al-qaeda won his second world pool. Masters title. It seemed like everybody was watching the stream on Facebook. And I do I did see a story today that metro put out that talked about the kind of numbers they saw four. Or streaming of the event they they had quite an audience. The files were crazy David's opponent, Alex Kazakhs five zero lead. Eight five lead race to nine al-qaeda fought back to eight and Kazakh has had the match in hand failed to get shaped from the eight to the nine. I mean for the couple people left on the planet who haven't seen it Katie came with an amazing shot. Not really like you had any alternative feet kind of had to come with the shot that he did. But you gotta feel for Kazakhs had a great tournament. He's been so close in a couple of different events recently. And of course, with his talent, we know that he's not going to continue to be on the doorstep for long. He's he's going to get back to his winning ways. It wouldn't be American billiard radio, though, if I didn't speak out on something that I feel strongly about and hey, it's my show. So I can. One of the players in the twenty four player field at the world pool. Masters was girl Strickland. Now, I've talked about Earl before and my feeling is that URL is like that. I hesitate to say crazy uncle in the family because Earls not crazy Earl is outspoken. He's opinionated. And you know, we all have that member of the family who people say, you know, he he says what he feels and he comes right out. And you know, exactly where he's coming from. You doesn't keep anything hidden. Well, that's a real look rose. A great player. He's he's champion. He he's Earl I mean, the only other player that that you can say something like that about his Efren. You know, you don't have to describe him any better than than just saying. He's efren. So Earl is Earl all of his titles everything. He's not going to win the world pool masters. I'm sorry. The the kind of talent they have out there. He's not going to win it. So it seems to me that when he's invited to that tournament. He's not being invited. Because he's a threat to win the tournament. He's being invited. Because he's going to give you a sound bite. He's going to say controversial things. Can we give that arrest? The guys on multi time world champion multi time. US open champion. Sure. He's opinionated. But come on. We don't need this. We're trying to make the game better. This does not make the game better. I don't believe that. There is anyone who is not a pool fan who is going to read the comments he made or see the comments he made on video and thank. Wow. That's amazing. I've got to go watch pool right now. It's not going to happen. So what are we accomplishing by poking fun one? We set him up for it. I mean. If you set somebody up to make comments, you're not accomplishing anything by making fun of him when he does. So I I would just like to see. And then again, this is my personal opinion and nothing to take away from the event. The event was great. I've been to. Event after event that matching puts on and no one produces a tournament. Like they do. They are absolutely the top tournament promoters out there, and they do more for professional pool than quite a few. You could go so far as to say they do more for professional pool than any other company in the game. So I know it sounds like a bash on them. But. I just I just don't see what we're accomplishing by continuing to bash Earl so all right hug it off my soapbox. Another big tournament that took place over the weekend was the super billiards expo that was a Roy's basement showcase two of the players that play for Roy's basement. That's aerial Francisco. James Arandas won the diamond ten ball pro Players Championship and Christina Koch won the women's nine ball pro Players Championship Christina played Karen core in the finals, which is no big surprise. It was also great to see Sarah rouse e in the field. Sarah finished in third at loved see Sarah get back into the game. It's it's not as we will talk about with Oscar. We're not at a point in the game right now where it makes financial sense for a player who has stepped away from the game to come rushing back into it. But again pope flea that will change. As usual at the super billiards expo there were a number of other events. Jonathan Pentagon won the pro embar box championship. Phil Davis won the amateur open. Bobby Connor won the open seniors event for players fifty on above fifty and above is open seniors. Oh my God. I mean, I could play on that Ed Mattis shown IQ, I hope I got that. Right. Won the super seniors division, which is sixty five and over. No, I can't plan that one just yet. Rachel Lang defeated Michelle's Jiang in the amateur ladies event and the twelve hundred juniors Peter Jack coop. Zach positive I got that wrong defeated Kyle Ye in the finals and in the fourteen and under Nathan children's defeated Ivo Lincoln in the finals. Other big news, which I guess you can say, it's big news. I kind of think it's in the category of meanwhile, water is wet. They announced that Shane van boning and Schuyler woodwork as well as as coach Johan we'll be back for the Mosconi Cup as if anyone questioned that Shane and Schuyler Johann would be back for the Mosconi Cup. But it's official out there now. So we know two of the five players. One of those five players is probably not going to be my guest from this show, not because of any lack of talent. But just because of him having other priorities, I give you the new owner of hard times billiards, Oscar Dominquez.
