And i would say for ten years. We kept trying to figure out what happened. Suzanne and her family. We looked everywhere and this was before the internet. I traveled a lot. Every city be doing consulting workshop. Been i'd find a phone book and look for david. Briggs suzanne starbuck donna briggs to try to find any of them not realizing that most of them have changed their names until the internet came and shannon found on find a grave the grave of daniel store doc suzanne youngest son the one that my had adopted and from there she was able to piece together where they were in what their names were. Obama says social media companies 'are making editorial choices, whether they've buried them in algorithms or not'
"Truth decay. I see that happening on a number of levels right now if you turn on different news organizations. They're not delivering news. They're delivering disinformation. Depending on who you're watching and that's really growing spreading and then i just land flatly on facebook where i feel a growing number of americans get their information there and that's truth and it seems to me to be very dangerous. It is very dangerous and you know he has President obama has very specific words for social media companies. He says they're not to blame entirely for this truth. Decay as he calls it. They're not to blame for every ailment in our political system but he says that the time has passed do for them to start acknowledging that they're not as they often argue. They're not just the phone company right That they're not just carrying messages back and forth between people that that embedded in their algorithms story choices. That's the way he put it to me. I thought it was a very good way to put it That that that the that facebook and other companies are sorting information and pushing certain kinds of information and repressing other kinds of information. And so you think that they play a civic role that they're not playing now and but but that's an accelerate as he says are something that exacerbates A deeper problem. Which is cultural norms. Right and in his book. I mean one of the interesting things. His book is that he traces his gradual awakening that something different is occurring in this country and he puts the You know he says. Sarah palin is the first indicator of this in two thousand eight hanes Crowd size not not to harp on crowd size. Which is an issue. We always talk about these days. He he saw mccain's crowd size. Saw palance crowd size saw that. She was appealing to a different kind of emotional impulse. native is Resume and said something is going on here and only later did we all realize that left unchecked An accelerated by social media and by another media ecosystem. You know this. This needs to This leads to some serious problems.
Barack Obama's new memoir 'A Promised Land' discusses rise of Donald Trump and marriage with Michelle
"A- promised land. That's the title of former president obama's new memoir remember. This is just part one. Because he couldn't get it all written in time so he split up into two parts but we are starting to see what he is writing about in this book and cnn obtained a copy of the book and my colleagues jeff zeleny and america and others poured through it and one of the big headlines that is emerging from the former president's memoir is how directly he deals with the issue of race and the rise to the trump era in other words. Barack obama who doesn't really talk about his race and its impact on american society. All that much really addresses in this memoir. He's very being. As the first black president sitting in that oval office he believes allowed millions of americans to be spooked by that and that was something. Donald trump understood that there would be millions. americans spooked. That black man was present united states and exploited it and played it to his political advantage. That is what obama thinks. The whole birther controversy was about he thinks that palin sarah palin being put on john mccain's ticket in two thousand eight was the beginning of this of taking what were sort of fringe off the read corners of the republican firmament in the country and bringing it front and center and that his being the first black president allowed that to happen because there were people like donald trump wanting to exploit those very racial and racist fears. I many in this country. It's just a fascinating. Read to see obama talking in these terms but this comes out at a time where we're seeing. How race played into this year's election. And the here obama talk about this in a way that quite frankly he hasn't talked about before is pretty fascinating.

"Have 6 to 8 months. My men for your closing statements. Okay. All right. All right. Well, then, I guess there's only one thing left to say. That's a great line. Woody Harrelson has also played Joe Biden. We have a clip of him to see you. I am so excited to be here. Mr Vice President, So I always thought Jason Sudeikis was agreed. Pretty good fit for that role, but and you know, and what really makes it is the dentures. They put in like these a really thick, thick veneer dentures into their mouths. And so J s O. I was surprised that Jason isn't going to play and I was talking about Randy yesterday. I'm like, I don't know how they got to Jim Carrey. But what happens if they're like I feel like playing a president on SNL is a role of a lifetime. And also you have a job for four years. Whether you want it or not, You can't turn it down right? Like Do you think Alec Baldwin could turn down playing President Trump, you know Comes to you and Alec Baldwin doing solo. It's like he's He's kind of phoning it in now. You know, I I thought, you know, Saturday night Life is hilarious. I think it got a lot better in the last couple of years. But, man I just got tired of it was like the same bit every week with without Goldwyn. Well, it was also the same with President Donald Trump Every week. There are only going after what was actually happening. Yeah, but but I thought it was, But it wasn't I guess The thing was, it was repeating the same joke over and over to me. We get it. But and there may be in some nuances of what Trump was doing at the time and made because I supported Trump like Anna, But you know, the better the president picked on and I think it's funny. And I never get all that worked up on boycott it like some people simply because whoever's in office they're gonna lampoon but they seem to be a little kinder to Barack Obama. I think that was you know, there's a race element there. Barack Obama didn't really put himself in the same Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, right. Right. Right. Right. Sarah Palin has been navigating that. Yeah, but like Tina Fey, just Trust Sarah Palin. That was fantastic. Oh, my God is sometimes that I'm like, Is it Tina Failures at Sarah Palin? I can tell that it was unbelievable that that I'm around people lose their mind over there going nuts. You know what? That was funny, I think maybe just because it's you know, you're right. You're repeating the same stuff, but it's like, okay, Allah, Paul. Okay, great. But I think I'd be funny because I saw Jason Steak has come out as bite. Not they would really, really strong at that. Andi. I wonder why they go. Jim. Jim Carrey's impression must be much much better, or it just could be that it's not that much better or it's about the same or worse. But you're getting Jim Carrey on the show. So that's a that's a big get. I haven't seen anything from Jim Carrey and so long as a girl that like was obsessed with Ace Ventura, Pet detective. I'm excited to see him back on television, and I think he'll probably crush. I mean, obviously, they do the make up. They'll give him the wig will give him the teeth. And I'm wondering, I'm really excited to see him and they'll be back in October. Okay? All right. Good. Ah, what else? You got any I want to touch based on two things. One of these. The Salvation Army is starting its annual holiday fund raising campaign earlier than ever, And they're calling it an attempt to rescue Christmas. So facing increased demand during Corona virus pandemic, Americans have suffered high unemployment. We all know the deal. They're so instead of those little red buckets being out right after Thanksgiving, that's kind of when they start to put them out. They're putting them out right now. So you'll see that And if you're in a giving mood, it's a double edged sword because your girl ran out of quarters to do laundry at the beginning of the pandemic when they stopped giving them out. But if you do have extra coins on you and you feel like giving to the community, you'll start to see those on Biff. You could support charity efforts Now's a great time to dive into that. Yeah, I think that's a good idea. I have not seen the buckets out yet. I'm like, Look at that and go Wow. Already doing Christmas, But I get because of Corona virus. You've got it. You've gotta make up for We're like a revenue loss. I understand that it makes sense. In the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade is also happening this year. 94th Edition happening on Obviously Thanksgiving Morning It will obviously be very pre produce. The event is going to be solely television, allowing millions of New Yorkers and the nation to safely watch it obviously from home, and I'm truly wondering, like, Is there going to be a big peanuts balloon traveling down like Broadway in New York? Or they're going to film this kind of similar to how we did our fireworks like out on a random location. What's his green screening when I guess so, But let's go with the green screen. You could get the show, so they're going actually. Is this going to like, Come midday. You'll see just a random Saturday like a peanuts balloon travelling down the road. Just really wondering how they're going to execute that. Here's Clifford the Big Red dog, right? Yeah. I don't know why, but but you do all of the You know you did You do that, and I know you missed a crowd and everything there, too, And then it's said, And the thing is the last couple years because we usually go to see my wife's folks and I never get to see the parade and I watch it. But you know your cooking your your Thanksgiving bird getting ready for football and you have that on the background. Absolutely absolutely. And it's Yeah, it's just like a memory of part of the holiday, But I was really wondering the execution if they ran the one from five years ago what anyone noticed You're right. You're right. Right? Like it's also very play. We got some balloons. There's really nothing new. Okay, here. SpongeBob. That's great. Here's al broker on the street with some people go where you're from here. The rocket ho. I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio. Yeah, Okay, Here's a rocket. All right. The Deer Park marching band. Great. It's like, okay, it's just just do that. Yeah, I You know what? I'm here for it, and I'm just glad it's happening. We found out with the fireworks. That tradition on television can still be executed and still be just this fun something did you notice with the Bangles playing tonight? By the way, have Dru cooking tonight or no. What's happening tonight?.
Revenge, Best Served Loud
"With, arguably one of the greatest opening riffs and Classic Rock Barracuda was written by Anna Nancy Wilson together with Guitarist Roger Fisher and Drummer Michael Derosier. It was written at a time when there was friction between the band and their label to put things mildly. The song appears on the album little queen their first album with CBS. Portrait. Records. They'd left their old label mushroom records after a contract dispute and mushroom was none too happy. Because according to mushroom heart owed them a second album. They not only sued the band for breach of contract and try to block the release of the CBS album but released magazine an album made up of songs that Hart had recorded but didn't think we're good enough to release as well as some live recordings needed to get it up to album length. The dispute dragged on and eventually the court decided that heart was free to sign with a new label but mushroom was indeed a second album. So. Heart went back to the studio to rerecord remix edit and re sequence the magazine recordings in a marathon session over four days. A court ordered guard actually stood nearby to make sure the master tapes weren't being erased. Heart eventually came out on top. As not only did the album little queen outsell magazine by a wide margin. The debacle gave the band the distinction of having all three of their albums on the charts at the same time. The court case wasn't the only reason. The Wilson Sisters in company were mad at mushroom records. After the first album became a million seller mushroom took out a full page ad in rolling stone touting the band's success using the headline million to one shot sells a million. No problem so far. The AD looks like the front page of a tabloid newspaper and included a photo from the Dream Boat Anne album cover shoot. The caption read. Hearts Wilson Sisters confess it was only our first time. Implying the sisters had an incestuous lesbian affair. Shortly. After this ad appeared a Detroit radio promoter asked an Wilson where her was. She assumed he meant her then boyfriend band manager Michael Fisher. But when the reporter clarified, he was referring to her sister Nancy and was understandably outraged and retreated to her hotel room to write. When she related the incident to Nancy to was outraged and join an in the writing session, contributing a melody and bridge. Nancy puts suitably angry music to the word to complete the song comparing the sleazy side of the Music Biz to a dangerous ill like fish. The song became an enduring classic and Barracuda remains one of the band's signature songs. Vera Khuda was test to another incident of severe irritation for the Wilson Sisters at. Against in two thousand eight. During that year's presidential campaign the song was used as the unofficial theme song for Republican Vice President Nominee Sarah Palin. The ALASKAN governor had apparently earned the nickname, Sarah? Barracuda as a high school basketball player for her competitive nature. The day after the song was played at the National Convention Anna. Nancy Wilson issued a statement reading. The. Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song nor would they have been granted that permission? We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music. We hope our wishes will be honored. Their wishes were not honored. As the Republican campaign pointed out, they had obtained the proper performance rights to the song from the record label and were under no obligation to get any further permission to use it. The Bar for performance rights being somewhat lower than the bar for commercial or video rights. With no legal recourse. The Wilson Sisters retaliated in the media telling entertainment weekly. Sarah Palin views and values in no way represent us as American women. We. Ask that our Song Barracuda no longer be used to promote her image. The Song Barracuda was written in the late seventy s as a scathing rant against the soloist corporate nature of the music business particularly for women. While, heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song the RNC. There's irony Republican strategists choice to make use of it. They're. The. Songs Co writer Roger Fisher was also anti Palin but he saw things differently telling Reuters. He was thrilled that the song was being used as it was a win win situation. He explained that while heart gets publicity and royalties the Republicans benefit from the ingenious placement of a kick ass. Song. He added that he would use some of the proceeds in a donation to the Obama campaign and thus the Republicans are now supporting Obama. See Kids. There's always a silver lining if we look for it.
Joe Biden leads President Trump in national poll
"His past week the Democratic National Convention took place this coming week Republican convention will be happening as well and with both of these happening, we are firmly into the general election. But what do the polls show about the state of the Presidential Race Joe Biden continues to maintain lead but that is narrowing and while Biden, has his supporters. Voters are really more united opposition against President trump for more on what all the polls are saying right now, we'll speak to Stephen Shepherd politics editor. At politico. We got a boatload of polling over the past few days leading into the two conventions here and but it shows is some slight tightening from earlier in the summer when Joe Biden was up routinely around ten or twelve points in the polls over president trump that now averages out just seven or eight points in a number of those polls tightening slightly one poll tightened a lot more. But that looks like more of an out wire a couple of polls actually showed Biden's lead. Widening those look a little bit like out lighters overall, it shows a slightly tighter raising. You're absolutely right about this being the kickoff really for the general election, we have the two party conventions. By the following week you first absentee ballots and a swing state North Carolina, go out to voters in the mail the week after the Republican convention. So we're talking about really the election is as we are going to know it in this sort of pinned era really being on our once we. Get through these conventions and it's GonNa be interesting to see because usually when we have a convention that party gets a bump and with the Democrats Convention being virtual and who knows how exactly how the Republican convention is GonNa play out are those bumps going to be comparable? Another thing that we're seeing is that or Joe Biden it's not necessarily hey, we support Joe. Biden. We Love Joe Biden. There's some of that but most of his vote is coming in as opposition to president trump. This is something that I think. We've looked at over the course of the past few months where you see a relative enthusiasm gap when you ask people how enthusiastic they are to don't folded ended it president trump's supporters and. Whether it's in parentheses or on social media are very active here his rallies or about him horror. So Biden, it is more about for his voters seems to be more about kicking out the incumbent president and NBC News Wall Street Journal poll out on Sunday Fifty, eight percent Biden supporters said there was more about opposing trump just thirty six percents that it was about voting for Biden for. Trump voters, seventy four percents they were voting for trump because they meant it as a vote for trump only twenty percent of trump voters they meant more as against Joe by. So you have this kind of asymmetry where go Biden's voters are enthusiastic about voting. They're just a disaster about voting against president trump not necessarily copilot and it'll be his challenge over the next couple of months to keep. Those voters in the fold one point I wanNA make on Convention bounces is Democrats as may recall or initially supposed to hold their convention in the middle of July five weeks ago. The idea was having an earlier convention would give them momentum through the summer carry through the Olympic Games would have been in the early part of this month would be ending right around now and that would set. Their nominee up well, even going into the Republican convention. In late August, obviously, they put back hoping that they could buy some time and still have an inverse invention with that didn't happen. We're stuck with these back to back virtual conventions and I think that's going to blunt both the virtual nature of the conventions, and also the timing factor Republican convention begins just four days after the Democrats conclude. Limit what kind of momentum each party I think can get out of this four-day infomercial that part looking to put on over the next couple of weeks. What kind of bump did the naming of Kama Harris as the running mate for Joe Biden? What kind of bump did that provide I know and the first forty eight hours they got forty, eight, million dollars. So the fundraising part of it was kind of their but polls, what were they saying about it? Well we see only a few polls conducted after Joe Biden named his running mate and they're pretty consistent with the polls that were conducted right before earlier last week. So I don't know that it changed the race a lot but what we saw is overall voters telling pollsters that they approve of the choice Joe Biden made arguably a safe choice choosing an experienced candidate who has exposure on the national stage voters got to know her during her presidential campaign in twenty nineteen CBS News of a Washington. Post. CNN. SRS sound maturities practices choice to that's not uncommon majorities approved of John. McCain's choice of Sarah Palin in two thousand eight in the first days. Obviously. Whereas well with voters over the closing couple of months of that campaign. So it's not unusual for there to be enthusiasm around the right after it's made the Salads or Democrats and for Kamo houses to keep that going the her momentum going through the convention this week, and obviously the other key moment for her and for Vice President Mike Pence Day or debate in early October

Wrote a surprisingly gracious note of advice to the California senator on her Instagram Page. Oh, but what a difference a week Fox News makes appearing with Tucker Carlson ahead of Harris is speech last night on the Democratic National Convention, Sarah Palin predicted that the media would treat the Democratic ticket like a delicate piece of China. Compared to the way She was treated in 2008 when she was running with John McCain on the Republican ticket. You know, looking back. Is there anything I could have done to get the kind of coverage that Kamala Harris is getting now? Is there. Well, I would not have prostituted myself in terms of changing any of my positions in order to garner better press, she said. She went on to suggest that she would have gotten a lot better coverage. Had she come compromised her convictions, seeming to imply that Kamala Harris has done that now. She didn't have any specific examples. And, of course, Tucker Carlson didn't say. Well, how has she? How has she reminded Harris has more Positive things to talk about. She has more accomplishments. She she's done stuff. No one's out to get you Sarah later in the report on things that here's what Sarah Palin said. I wrote it down, and now I'm giving it to you said Dumb things. That's that's how that happened. Later. In her interview, Palin lashed out at MSNBC's Nicole Wallace. And Steve Schmidt, both of whom worked on McCain's 2008 campaign, but have since turned away from the Republican Party under Trump. There was a lot of sabotaging going on, especially at the end of the game there, she said. They were wolves and chief's clothing. Well, that's first of all. They they they Caution McCain not to choose you as his running mate, but he did it anyway, because you know, he's a maverick. And then when he did, and you kept screwing up on, and they kept pointing it out. That's that's when the and they both said it was a nightmare. Having her as a vice presidential candidate. It's funny people bringing out Sarah Palin. It's like they forgot right wing and bitter, cling and proud slingers. They forgot how Screwy. She was with a party of Hello. Yeah. You're your own Sarah. It's your own words, you know. Unfortunately, I would say as I listen to those quotes again. She's speaking directly to a segment of people that I hear those words and go. Yeah, well, I read a whole opinion piece about how The reason we got Trump was because we made Sarah Palin okay, and it was because she was chosen to be the vice president nominee could do that job, so it made it OK. And so that's how we got Trump could be. How about you Quit making things up? Coming up in a moment? Boner Candidate number three. OK, we'll make the gays invisible. Joe Biden says voters 'ain't black' if they support Trump, then apologizes
"You have a problem figuring out whether you're trump and you ain't black it don't have nothing to do with trump. It have to do the fact. I want something for my community. I would love to record van. You're saying he still hasn't shown you why you would vote for him. Specifically a black woman. Running me is necessary especially after the day when we see a black person voting for trump. And you know trump is the modern allowed people in this country. That does make you question how much that person cares about his people. So I understand the statement shop from a from a whole white male. Joe By some fallout from that tense interview between Joe Biden and radio host. Charlemagne the God it comes as Biden has acknowledged the next stage of the vice presidential. Vetting is about to begin. And so we thought we'd call on two of our own colleagues who have quite a bit of experience with that process as we debut a new segment on our program the powerhouse players with ABC News Contributors Republican Chris Christie and Democrat Rahm Emanuel they will offer insight and analysis like nobody else as the two thousand election ramps up and rum. Let's get right to it. You heard it right there. Joe Biden putting his foot in his mouth. He apologized for being so cavalier. But where does this go from here? Well first of all I think what it does is obviously influences. The vice presidential selection. Everybody that tells you. A dozen isn't being honest. It has an impact on a weight on the scale etc and I think the Biden campaign credit for mealy jumping on it and try to Deflated everybody is united in the party with a single goal of beating. President trump. I would step back though and say violated a simple number one rule. You have to project that you're gonNA earn every vote fight for every vote just like you're gonNA fight for this country and what this said underneath was. I'm going to get your vote no matter what I do. Because the other guy's worse than me. And that violates politics one on one but Chris. The trump campaign was immediately out with ads. Criticizing Biden does that continue sure. Of course it doesn't and here's the problem Ramadan. I've talked about this before. The Biden campaign should do everything they can to keep Joe Biden in the basement and stop talking because as soon as he starts talking he starts to create problems. He's in the phase of the campaign right now where it's really a referendum on the president unless he turns it into a binary choice and by doing things like he just did. He's turning it into a binary choice and rob complements the Biden Campaign for defusing it. They've had plenty of practice in trying to defuse these things and they're gonNA play anymore. I suspect in terms of the impact on the vice presidential pick. Though I hope it doesn't impact it because if it does he could take himself down the McCain Sarah Palin route which is not the place he wants to go in my view. This is a first. Do No harm pick for Vice President Biden and run by was already under some pressure to choose a black woman as a running mate. He says multiple or under consideration. Does this increase the pressure? In the likelihood he will choose a black woman. It adds weight obviously To that effort and I think you know I believe in I think you have to look at the history of Vice President. Used to pick a vice president. One do no harm to balance your weaknesses whether it's geographic or ideological when President Clinton picked Al Gore. Jason Southern Moderate Tennessee Arkansas. He Changed The paradigm from balance to partnership. And I think you look at it. It's not like George Bush had worry about Wyoming or president or Senator Barack Obama had to worry about Della Gore's electoral votes. They answered a political part of the equation. But they also added a partnership Element I think in the end of the day the most important vetting after you get to the final three will be president. Senator Vice President Joe Biden. See this person. His partner in making these critical decisions and that to me will be the element that amounts. Because when you look at Sarah Palin she did not fulfil John McCain's message themes and who he was as a character and it became apparent to the voters. This was an impulse. Joyce real choice of a partnership and Chris Biden has committed to selecting a woman. Does that box some in? Was that a good idea. Well listen it's his call right and what it does is it eliminates about fifty percent of the population. But that's his call. I think that you know here. It's even more Stark Martha and Robin mentioned. One thing that I think is very important. Joe Biden if elected will be seventy eight years old with a history of some health issues going into this. The American people are going to be looking a little bit different than a partnership. They're going to be looking at this person to say. Can I see this person as president even more starkly than they do with a normal vice presidential pick? I don't think anybody was worried about Barack Obama prematurely dying office. I don't think anybody who's worried about George W Bush in that regard and so looking at this choice. He needs to look at it that way as well given Senator Biden's vice president binds agent so of his history. I've gone through this process twice myself and being vetted and the partnership matters significantly there's no doubt but also that person has to be able to see you but more importantly the American people in this instance has to see that choice as someone they could see as president of the United States that in the next four years.

It may not seem like a sport. But what is a sport a sport is game? True. And the kids are really good at video games is the first thing that's ever happened in history where if you get under a certain aides say under thirty. Every single person does video games like in the past. You'd have. She reads a lot. He never reads this one likes movies, this wink, climbs trees when it comes to video games every single human being under the age of thirty loves video games. Plays video games. There's never been a phenomenon like this before. So. Yeah, you're saying, hey, they're sitting on their behinds, and that's not a sport. But a sport is a game. And if you're really good follow me with this. This is good for the country. If you're good at video games. You're probably going to be good at navigating those drones that kill the enemy. So it's all a big setup for the future protection of this great country of ours. We get these kids. We haven't played around in the game. Kids are learning to kill. I don't care what they'd everything is fine. So what's going to happen? So it does seem silly. But it's not as silly on second glance because it's a game. Kids are good at it. And now you'll have kids weren't that bright who are good at east sports on campus rather than just kids your bright doing other sticking ball sports. Can I get a scholarship before a paper? Boy, really good at Nintendo has got to be something that's competitive. Whatever these competitive games against that dog. That comes chasing me down the street. I've ever played anything. I never liked video games. I have no hand eye coordination. I've never liked to even back in the day in the early eighties. When I was hanging out with my crew and to play video games, you had to go to a bowling alley, arcade. And they all loved playing, you know, all those games. Now, just sit there and talk with them. I would never play never enjoyed you used to play NASCAR on it sucks. That's a virtual simulator. I've never I never played the game. He didn't race. There is a game you can play and you try to become champion. He gets row fees. I tried that for one day. Get the car out of the garage and race whatever's around me that's more like that's more like just a simulator. I'm not. And I wasn't that good at it. I was better. I'm better in real cars on real tracks. The stomach issue. Just doesn't work only one person in this room is actually ranked in a video game, George. That's. Where you were ranked in Madden. What was your highest ranking? I right now only the top one hundred thousand players ranked in the world. Okay. And still ranks. I'm like forty one thousand forty one thousand. Yeah. Hey, can we get this is going to be a really large foam finger hand? But I need one that says we're forty-one thousand. It's going to be a lot of fingers. It's gonna be a very large foam clan..
CNN's April Ryan and Fox's Mike Huckabee Have Twitter Beef
"One time GOP presidential candidate and Fox News contributor. Mike Huckabee has clashed with a tweet by CNN's April. Ryan after she criticises daughter White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders on the heels of the Muller reports release the controversy started after Ryan called for Sanders firing. In light of special counsel, Robert Muller's claim that Huckabee Sanders misled the media during press briefings, no Ryan said, there's a lack of credibility, and you have to start lopping off heads to watch my copy reminded, folks. Well, especially in light of the fact that Sarah Palin got pilloried because she talked about targeting races now targeting races in politics means that you pick out races that you want to win. But she was said to be trying to incite violence, then April Ryan who's supposed to be an objective journalist is not objective journalism. How does a person sit there in that space at the White House press room claiming to be a reporter and a journalist and have such over the top opinions about the White House press secretary who does. Yes, happens to be my daughter, so sure pops a little sensitive about it. But I just think that it was outrageous and CNN, of course, never called her out. Neither did the White House Correspondents Association. That's. It's not the kind of comments that should be celebrated among journalists. It's ridiculous Huckabee. The Fox News contributor was speaking there on Fox News

"That sounds sexual did a version invested. With sounds just like it's not though, it's bony Swedish this. German. I'm sorry. Having been a disco aficionado in my day of dancing on the disco floor this song sucks. Well, I mean, it really wasn't for your listening pleasure so much as it was tied to will not see kind of funny. Well, why why did you decide to go with that? Tom. Well, we're talking about Russia. Yes. We've been talking about Russia for the last several years now and nothing to do with Sarah Palin being able to see her kids now on this happens to coincide with the remarks made yesterday by Rudy Giuliani who may not realize for twenty with Saturday and not Sunday when talking about whether or not American political candidates. Presidential candidates should be receiving Russian information. I believe sensuous Easter Sunday when he made the appearance is on the many talking head shows as personal attorney for the president in these matters that he had just too much wine from the Eucharist chalice when he received the Sacramento earlier in the day because the guy was like half in the bag again. In fact, we'll play the cuts, but as well high Tom Madison Square gone into great facilities provided to us in order to do this world. So all of you here today, I have to say, very nice. Nice. Thank you, nj dot dot com. And by the way, Rhody would that l'audace you could use a little in chase dot com. He's really showing. But yesterday, he was like all the talking head shows. I will deal with what he said that made headlines. There's nothing wrong with taking inflammation from Russia. What a hypocrite, but why is any candidate any candidate in the whole world in America would take information negative source from a hostile foreign source who says if even a legal who says if you will then does the information turn out to be false, by the way, the information that was gleaned and disseminated every newspaper printed, it why did Washington Post print the information that came from a foreign source when they knew it was hacked now when he was speaking his nostrils will like all flared up. His is what it is about ruby. Now when he talks his eyes get used the only thing I've ever seen that is equivalent. If you've ever been on a hunt with hunters. I never have been on a pheasant hunt after our. The dog finally gets a fashion, you know, out of the bushes. Oh, that's right. They don't haunt his eyes. Get all big in oil excited wounded site to cycle the time. And he goes on to explain why there's no problem accepting information from Russia. There's nothing wrong with take an information from Russians. There's nothing wrong with taking came from. It depends on where it came from your assuming that the giving of information is a campaign contribution read. The report carefully report says we can't conclude that because the law is pretty much against that. Do people get information from this person that person wouldn't you would have accepted information from Russians against decline against against the candidate? If you were running in the press, and I probably I probably wouldn't I wasn't asked. I would have advised that excessive caution don't do it. I'll give you another thing. You're saying you're saying there was nothing wrong with doing. I mean, there's no crime. I'm not talking about crime. I'm talking about morality. Yeah. We are because he's the president of the United States that may or may not have. Been buoy by illegal behavior. Stolen records. Look apparently nail Rudy is holier than Trump. Could she said and he was running for president brief period before he crashed in barn. He would not have accepted the information. So I guess he's more of a moral guy than the president. And I guess the, but here's the thing if the Trump campaign immediately should've said, no we are not going to accept any information from a four a hostile foreign entity. And the next step should have been calling the FBI. That's what should have happened bullets offsets not arguable. Let's find out from Miami listeners any problem in the Trump administration. What she'd made the Trump campaign accepting information at that time rather rather than make a phone call. What happened was an Email was sent by Trump junior about twenty minutes later, saying if it's what you say, I love it. One eight hundred eight four WABC that's one eight hundred eight four eight nine two two two. Now the. The deeper issue for me is I remember when Donald Trump was out on the campaign trail, and he was lambasting Hillary for in her response to question. Constantly failing to remember certain specifications, states times places persons meetings, this that everything else, and he really took it at task over and over and over again when she was interviewed by the FBI she claimed she couldn't remember important events thirty nine times. So she really didn't remember that's a problem. And if she did remember, that's a problem. So all of you, all of you who criticize me all the time because I criticized the president just I want you to record this because it's it's an unusual occurrence. Here's the thing with every politician all the way up to president every single one of them has done the exact same thing, they say one thing back in the day and they completely contradict it when they take off. And this is not exclusive to President Trump. A lawyer will tell you the end if you are going to answer that question in the affirmative your implicating shelf. So I would suggest that you have temporary. Am nisha. Right. And at the time. Trump was criticizing her for doing that. The problem. The problem is he has to do it now too. Because it was probably the smart thing for him to do thirty seven times in his written response to questions made by Muller's team. He indicated he couldn't remember he couldn't remember thirty seven times. So Chris Wallace, your friend. You actually supported him last week. I attacked him being Trumper. You said no he's not he went at Rudy, and they had a brawl over that very issue. Because when I ask you a question, you say that they gave you gave the president gave them everything they wanted. I understand you're saying they didn't never liked testimony. Let's look at the president's testimony by sir. Time eight thirty seven times he said and written answers. He did not recall. My goodness. Wait a minute. You say two times. Okay. Here's what when Hillary Clinton did that during her investigation. Now that just sort of started. Then Chris Wallace is relentless and Rooney jazz loses. It you got thirty second problem for Hillary Clinton. But it isn't for Clinton was guilty on the line crime. She did crush she did crush the cell phones. She did who made you got us. You said about Muller. I'm not got about more. I'm just the.

"Sarah Palin back in the news today. Really? Yeah. I hadn't thought about her in quite a while actually probably true I interviewed once a couple of years ago in person. Yeah. And she very nice lady. I mean, you could disagree with her politics. Present yourself. But I just found her to be Elizabeth this way, my wife was pregnant with our first kid at the time Cameron, right? And she got on the phone with her. I said, hey, gene, somebody wants to talk to you real quick. 'cause like my wife called her as we wrapped up and pounds. You know, taking her mic off and everything on my K. I gotta I just finished interviewing Sarah Palin. And and Saragossa. Oh, is that your your wife go? Yes, she's pregnant you've had a couple of kids from from what I've seen. So maybe give her some advice on the phone with her for like, ten minutes like advice that was kind of cool. Oh nice. She took the time out of her schedule, and she got to speak with you. I mean, that's really nice some people fake it and some people. I think she's a genuinely good person. Not ten minutes. Faking. It right. Exactly. That would take a fake would take thirty seconds. Right. Yeah. Make sure you get these diapers. Now, they're having a conversation back and forth. Yeah. So go figure so yes, he's back in the news back in the news. She sat down for a an interview with good morning Britain. So wasn't it here? It was over there. And she was talking about the McCain funeral and back in August. And what you said was really kind of surprising. I'm glad that he's willing to listen loops I was kinda surprised to be publicly disinvited to the to the funeral. I think that that was an unnecessary step. They didn't have to embarrass me and embarrassed others who it wasn't just me. It was other good people in our campaign back in two thousand eight who were very very loyal to Senator McCain and worked with him in for him for many years, and they weren't invited to the to the funeral. So that was all weird. You know is all I don't know. I hope I hope that doesn't happen to other people. It's unnecessary. It's kind of a gut punch right said, it was a gut. It should be right. She member. She's I know she was governor of Alaska, but that's still national obscurity. No one knew who she was. I remember I may remember exactly where I was when I heard that it was going to be Sarah Palin jersey shore. Yeah. And I remember how it came about right? Did you do you? Remember how it came about? Do you? Remember, it was a complete surprise. They they kept the ladonna completely. They introduced at a rally. I want to say it was in Ohio. Trevor the producer looked at up to see if I was writing, and then she did a speech, and it was very good. And you're like, wow. Who is this this could change everything right female, young attractive, a fighter all these things. And obviously it didn't work out because with that fight yet and Trevor confirms it wasn't an Ohio rally where where she was introduced. But then financial crisis hits in September a month after she's on the ticket. And no candidate Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump. No one is beating Barack Obama at that point. Because you're the party in power. And then you've got to own the financial it wasn't even exactly I it was it was basically like the worst thing since the depression. So. Yeah. A lot of things are going against her. She had some flubs, obviously because again flagged right to be in that spotlight. But again, she was always loyal to McCain. Right. And she never said a bad word about him. No. And he's not the type of Republican that she likes right? She likes more tea party more populous more Trump which came after right after all after she ran with them while she ran with him. She was very loyalty. I'm an and she was until NAFTA. Sure, right. Some point. She never did. And I got the feeling that that his funeral. You know, what I'm not going to bash America passed, but but whoever was helping to control it, really politicized. It. You know, I wonder why they did with heard though, what b because it why not just include her. Did they think that that would make it political to include her? Well, I mean there there are politicians left everywhere. Right. Have been such an obvious thing to right thing that right because one of the things look whether you like her or not what McCain did in nominating her as his running mate was really history. It was historical dose. So okay. Didn't work out that well, but still it was a really neat thing to do. But if it wasn't he let's say it wasn't historical. She was your running mate. And she was your running mate. Right. So yes, she gets invited to so. So that's just on a human perspective and historical books. All of that. I don't I don't really understand. And what she says to you didn't have to embarrass me. An and and there's also part of what she said here disinvited, which means leads to think that was she were they invited originally invited. Then the invite was Paul. Exactly. Right. The way that what she said it. I, you know, I do these things called uninvite s-. What are you need? Well, it's it's where you invite somebody to something. And you know, they can't come. But you get credit for the invite. You are horrible. So single me who was not the nicest guy, perhaps in this regard. So sometimes I would know maybe a girls plans in advance, right? Let's she's going away for a weekend 'cause I tended to date within like this circle. So to speak where people kind of knew each other. Actually being related. The point is that let's say I knew a girl was going away for the weekend. She go to Boston for a friend. And and maybe I wanted to go out with this girl. I like Senator an Email or text or like, you know, maybe call by Kay. I got front row Knicks or I got Broadway tickets to this or whatever knowing that. She couldn't say, yes. But knowing I would get credit for asking. So then the following week. She would go out with me. And then it would just be like a night out at arby's or something like that. But the point is the uninvite very successful. Just horrible. Meanwhile, now carbon is a b why because I want to have a final four party at my house next, right? Yeah. Okay. Fun. It's a Saturday game start around five thirty people bring over their kids. Wife's Mr. says, I don't care. Right. All right. All right. And you want to bring whoever you want I invited twenty people. Yeah. I am over twenty not one person can come and I'm hearing some crazy excuses. But they're they're all right. Just can't believe that this is going to be my future. One of my friends says I can't make it because I have my daughter's softball game at seven o'clock. Okay. I'm thinking in early April in jersey, seven o'clock. It's an inside. No..

She just sashayed out there on stage at her blacks, shiny suit. I walked to my television. She had like three para lucielle ball lashes on. I was like, oh, I love this woman. I think we need to do this. There was definitely resemblance between Lisa and and Sarah Palin. They're both brunettes with bright eyes who acute glasses Sarah Palin was getting a lot of attention at the time for being a hot mom, but no one was saying mill fout loud. "So you must be okay with the Schultz idea. And I don't say that as know forget about it. But look I'm come from. Somebody says what's wrong with more competition is better not less. Do you think it would be healthier for our system if we had four or five parties four or five I think I think that's fine? You know, I think that that's sounds like the two major parties you feel like don't serve this. Well, yeah. What about like six or seven though like how about like 0 plus one like why don't we just like have though many of them? You know, we've lost sight of some very basic truths here in this country. One of them is that becoming a member of congress does not really mean anything about a person's ability intelligence or skill. It just means that they ran a political campaign in one district of hundreds of of congressional districts across the country, and they happen to beat the other guy. They beat the other guy and then one other guy after that. That's all it means. There are a lot of people, and I'll be honest with you of both parties who are in congress that are not impressive that I have interacted with and particularly like, and we should not feel like oh member of. I know if you're listening to this show chances are, you're one brilliant. Well, read handsome, beautiful and just full of life. That's all true for people. Listen to the show, but you also are probably a little cynical about politicians because I'm cynical about politicians. Mostly from my experience in seeing what they do and now in DC dealing with on a daily basis. But I just think it's funny though, Calcio Cortez. She's waxing philosophical on the very structure of our political system and people are taking your seriously. I would like to ask her some basic questions. I will ask her at some point. Who are the three authors of the federalist papers, for example. I'd be really curious to see if she could tell me who are the authors of the federalist papers that would be or even just who's the primary author of the federalist papers if she's gonna tell us how many political parties we should have that. That's not a fair questions to get a sense of her of her knowledge is too much of a Gotcha question. I remember Sarah Palin. You know, it was you know, who's the who's third line for the throne of, you know, listen though, or something I mean, I it was like what and Sarah Palin. She doesn't know anything. She wasn't. Yes. It wasn't exactly letting the world on fire where the knowledge either I'm not gonna pretend, but it was very fair for them to go after Palin for the media governor Palin on just a lack of fundamental knowledge about certain things in the world. But Okaz you Cortez the excuse the absence of knowledge and they elevate all this, honestly, all this Bs. They elevate all of this talking points garbled together, a left-wing claptrap, and it's just it's just left wing kind of boilerplate mixed with the the verbiage of the community organizer all that equity and diversity and inclusion it's really this other way of of talking that people who come from the political left they've adopted this, and it's because it's a way of appealing to people's grievances to their sense of. A victimization and and their emotions without having to assert anything that can be challenged on a more factual basis. That's why you can assert whatever you want about oppression. I can't prove that oppression. Does not exist in the way, they say it exists. I can only debate the concept with them. But I can't say. So that's the realm where she likes to talk. That's the area of of most of her focus discussion because the moment that she gets into the numbers and the reality they have to run all this defense for her and say things like, well, you know, she's right? She might be wrong with the numbers, but she's morally, right, or whatever it is about that. Here's another example, you know, she gave us interview to Chuck Todd. Chuck Todd is kind of a. There's a part of me. That's like there's nothing impressive or interesting about Chuck Todd, which is true. But this part of it almost respects the game. I'm like, how did this guy become a thing? Wha-? What did this guy do to become somebody who's going to be running the show paid millions of dollars has scraggly little goatee and his kind of as little voice and just does liberal liberal standard left wing? Exactly what you would expect on his show night in night out. You know how? Anyway, there's a part of me just to somebody else in the business part of me. It's almost respect the almost respect the con, but he's talking to her last night. And then we can take her speaking yesterday morning. So last night yesterday morning, the first part of this clip. And then last night, I just want you to hear. It's almost like she has. No, she's just making it up as she goes along with no idea what she's talking about Blake clip one. Are you prepared to put on the table that? Yes, actually there. Right. What this requires his massive government intervention? It does. Yeah. I have no problem saying that I think one report the rights as. It does very straightforward question. Massive government intervention. She talks about rebuilding all the structures and the green new deal proposal. I'm not making this up. I'm not taken out of context. Rebuilding every building in the country. I can't even tell if they're serious about high speed rail to Hawaii and two islands, I'm assuming they know that's so stupid. It's my butts all of it is so stupid. It's mind boggling, so how do we separate out? They believe it. You're kidding me. Do they really I think it's possible. I think they've I think they really believe it. I think that's the difference. Like, you know, all the stuff is nothing didn't saying this stuff for thirty years. But I do think the difference now is I think they actually believe it when I see them on TV. Don't you? Oh, they believe the green stuff. I just don't if they believe that high speed rail can get so Hawaii, but Geraldo dust. Mazey Geraldo smarter than Okaz you Cortez. I don't know what to say. She's like, I don't think you're gonna trade a Hawaii lady Makasi credentials. No. We'll totally get it like with the bridges and stuff and like floats. Maybe instead of asking her about the federalist papers, maybe ask them work. What basic question of Hawaii? Hawaii is. Oh, man. There's a lot of this. I it would people think that it's mean, but there's a part of that would want to just say why don't we we should subject? Some of these some of these people that were told they're so brilliant to like a very basic man on the street tests. Like what what the the different late show that will do and see how they do. I think people's minds would be blown about the the lack of core knowledge that Okaz you Cortez has for somebody who's in is in. And by the way, she's not alone. I think I think their minds to be blown by maisy Hirono. I think their minds it'd be blown by a whole bunch of folks. Listen publicans in there to who just are not. Not very knowledgeable about about a lot of things. But anyway, so so she said massive government intervention clear as day could not have been anymore said. And then here's what you said later on that same day play the rest clip. Mischaracterize what we're doing as though it's like some kind of massive government takeover. Okay. Well, which is it. She's very comfortable with massive government intervention. But it's mischaracterizes some kind of massive government takeover when we talked with intervention. That's government action to direct institutions where people or things to do something that strikes me as a takeover. So is she confused about what government invent interventions or does. She just contradict yourself later on of the day because she realizes that. There are a lot of Americans out there who don't really want to be told and don't really want to hear that the answer to the problems that faces this country is just putting more stuff in the hands of the government that as we know is already on an unsustainable, financial footing and messes up stuff all the time the stories that.

"Five on talkradio. Six eighty W C B M. Mm. He's holding the line for America. Buck Sexton is. So you must be okay with the Schultz idea. And I don't say that is freaking out about it. But look I'm come from. Somebody says what's wrong with more competition is better not last. You think it would be healthier for our system if we had four or five parties four or five I think, I think that's fine. You know, I think that that's a sounds like the two major parties you feel like don't serve this. Well, yeah. What about like six or seven though, like how about like 0 plus one like why are we just like have I fell many of them? We've lost sight of some very basic truths here in this country. One of them is that becoming a member of congress does not really mean anything about a person's ability intelligence were skill. It just means that they ran a political campaign in one district of hundreds of of congressional districts across the country, and they happen to beat the other guy or maybe they would be the other guy and then one other guy after that. That's all it means. There are a lot of people, and I'll be honest with you of both parties who were congress that are not impressive that I have interacted with and don't particularly like, and we should not feel like oh member of. I know you're listening to this show. Chances are your one brilliant. Well, read handsome, beautiful and just full of life. That's all true for people. Listen to show, but you also are probably a little cynical about politicians because I'm cynical about politicians. Mostly from my experience in seeing what they do and now in DC dealing with on a daily basis. But I just think it's funny. You know, Okaz, yo Cortez. She's waxing philosophical on the very structure of our political system. And people are take your seriously. I would like to ask her some basic questions. I will ask her at some point. Who are the three authors of the federalist papers, for example. I'd be really curious to see if she could tell me who are the authors of the federalist papers that would be or even just who's the primary author of the federalist papers if she's going to tell us how many political parties, we should have don't you think that's a fair questions to get a sense of her of her knowledge of a Gotcha question. I remember with Sarah Palin. You know, it was you know, who's the who's third line for the throne of. Lissa tho or something? I mean, it was like what an off Sarah Palin. Doesn't know anything. She wasn't. Yeah. It wasn't exactly letting the world on fire where the knowledge either I'm not gonna pretend, but it was very fair for them to go after Palin for the media after Palin on just a lack of fundamental knowledge about certain things in the world. But Okaz you Cortez the excuse the absence of knowledge and the elevate all this, honestly, all this Bs. They elevate all of this talking points garbled together, a left-wing claptrap, and it's just it's just left wing kind of boilerplate mixed with the the the verbiage of the community organizer all that equity and diversity and inclusion it's really this other way of talking that people who come from the political left they've adopted this, and it's because it's a way of appealing to people's grievances to their sense of. Victimization and their emotions without having to assert anything that can be challenged on a more factual basis. That's why you can assert whatever you want about oppression. I can't prove that oppression. Does not exist in the way, they say it exists. I can only debate the concept with them. But I can't say. So that's the realm where she likes to talk. That's the area of most of her focus and discussion because the moment that she gets into the numbers and the reality they have to run all this defense for her and say things like, well, you know, she's right? She might be wrong with the numbers, but she's morally writer, or whatever it is. It's about here's another example. You know, she gave his interview to Chuck Todd. Chuck Todd is kind of a there's a part of me. That's like there's nothing impressive or interesting about Chuck Todd, which is true. But this part of it almost respects the game. I'm like how did this guy?.

"As you now. We hold and I use this term loosely the leaders of this country to account. We don't care what party they're in. We don't see party. We don't see party. I'm a registered Republican only because I want to vote in the primary in Florida, but I'm not a Republican. This is not a the Republican party. I know there is nothing. I like about these people whatsoever. And I've been ripping all of them for a very long time. The media and the left. I watched the last three days as the media kissed the Royal? Of this Alexandra Cossio Cortes. She is one of four hundred and thirty five congress people. Representing her district. I believe it's the Queens New York. And remember how I told you when Sarah Palin came out how the media destroyed her. Well, for some reason the media is just kissing this woman's. You know what? Treating her like God. Like the end all be all like the answer. The solution. The best of the best. But she's a liar. You know, how they complain about Trump lies how I complain about Trump lies. Well, this woman's Aligarh a bold faced straight into your face liar. She was interviewed by a man in front of a bunch of people that were really love her. That if we don't do something we're all gonna die in twelve years. If we don't pay for it. That was a words if we don't pay for it and climate change were all going to die in twelve years. Now in case, you don't know about fourteen years ago. Al Gore said we were going to be. Who knows? But he said put in ten years the world was ending fourteen years. So why would this woman a new congresswoman come out and say, we're all gonna die in twelve years unless we pay up for climate change. Why would she lie like that? You see this person? Who was interviewing didn't ask the most important question. And then you ask a follow up. The follow up with simply be what would we die of? And then she would say, oh, well, the the water and icebergs, and the weather, and we're gonna die of the, you know, and then then the next follow up question. How do you now in twelve years? How do you know? And the next question you say you want us to pay up or we'll die pay up for what? We give you money. What are you going to do that? We don't die. Whether you're going to change them. What tools are you going to use the change the weather that we don't die? But they don't ask why because they kiss her. But I've never seen anything like it. It gets worse and worse and worse and worse a simple question away. What do you mean we're going to die in twelve years now? What are you going to die in twelve years? What's going to kill us? But you want money. Okay. We'll give you money how much money do you want? And how we gonna stop all this from happening. So she lied. She's no different than anybody else in politics. Now. She's a liar. Forget the money part. She's in the playbook. The playbook is create a frigging crisis and tell the world how much money you need to fix the crisis and get your idiots the follow you while the other side yells at you. I'm not going to yell. I'm just going to ask a simple question. What do you need the money for and how you gonna stop us from dying? And what are we going to die from

She got people motivated, and this something that, you know. But you just can't take for granted to a politician because first of all you have to have your name out there. The first of all you have to generate an emotion within the base that you're trying to attract as did that. Alexandria. She's doing it now. But once you get a message down once you learn more. She's very. For her sky is limit in the in the political world. I think she's extremely dangerous. I to come in about this morning. Talking about the the the people was overdosing this place where the mayor fry has been drug. And when you put them in an environment where those rules just doesn't work because they don't want. They don't want rules. They won't anarchy. So let's say, yeah, you're right to an extent, you're generalizing, and there's going to be exceptions. But, but generally speaking, there is some truth to that that that when you say, it's a culture, you know, there are people that choose to live that lifestyle because it enables them to do the things they want to do namely heroin. To his comment about a Cossio Cortez. I don't think she's going to nail down what she's would appoint. Or or a message to me? I am still of the opinion. I I'm still of the opinion that right now. She just becomes another Representative flash in the pan. Am I just another Representative just another vote goes along? She's just going to be a reliable democrat vote in the house, which is what that seat has always kind of been. Yeah. You know, and and hopefully, she'll just get sort of bogged down in Washington, you know, what Washington will tame her. But if she doesn't, you know, she continues to sort of ride this culture personality train, then yes, she could be extremely dangerous and a few years, plus a few more seconds of this and. "Crucial part because it's gonna show you how the the sixth circuit completely mischaracterized the facts on appeal, which which may foreshadow what what happens, but but the court says Moore over after the audience members took matters into their own hands. Mr. Trump allegedly stated, don't hurt him. If I say, go get them. I get in trouble with the press. Presumably if he intended for protesters to be escorted out by security personnel Trump would have instructed the intervening audience members to stop what they were doing rather than offering guidance as to how to go about. And and there was there's another sort of disturbing argument that was made at the district court level abandoned on appeal in which Trump says that in response to the negligence claims that that these folks were trespassers. I, I want to highlight that not because it's an issue in this case, but because it is part of it disturbing trend. And again, we try and highlight when it's true on both sides. This is a disturbing trend almost entirely on Republican politics to declare that their campaigns are not open to the public and are in fact only open to supporters. George w. Bush did this, John McCain. He didn't do it so much at his events, but but Sarah Palin exclusively characterized her events and and vetted folks from showing up who were who were hostile. That's a. Core of American democracy is that your campaign events should be open to the public. And so I just wanna fly because I've never seen a campaign take that position in print. It's a sidebar issue, but it's something that that I think is is really, really disturbing anyway. So court goes through that and then says, because we found that this states the facts that could plausibly be viewed as stating cause of action under the incitement to right. Then we have to look at the affirmative defense of is this protected by free speech. And notice that that question sits in lexical priority, right? Like if you have a first amendment right to do something, it doesn't matter if the thing that you have a right to do is also against the law. It means that the law can't touch you in that circumstance. Right? But it does mean that you have to affirmatively establish that you have that, right? Right. So the burden shifts to, in this case, the Trump campaign to to defend. Their conduct and, and here the court will apply a case that away listeners will find familiar. It's one we've talked about a number of past free speech episodes. This is Brandenburg versus Ohio, and this is the three part test for incitement to riot right that is, which is also what we apply hate speech cases. Number one, the speech must explicitly or implicitly encourage the use of violence or lawless action to the speaker must intend that the speech will result in the use of violence or lawless action and three. The imminent use of violence or lawless action must be the likely result of the speech. And so Trump argued that unless his speech fell into that narrow category, the first amendment and he would be right, would bar any effort to enforce the law..

Is connected to this and then he, killed himself so what? Was it that led this this thing to. Happen and that is the. Big question that, looms he was upset at losing as I, said he was a, participant was attending the. Competition took his own life but the exact motive nobody knows for sure the The FBI is on, hand ATF agents etc there, are a lot of people that are trying to figure this. Out and piece it, all together including. He was from. Baltimore they're trying, to piece something back back in Baltimore as to what could possibly have happened and how he you know how he got to Jacksonville and the weapon, and all that kind of. Kind of stuff and. Of course as these things go would a rehearing oh it was a nice guy not so nice. To kill innocent people at a video, tournament and as I? Said multiple pull fatalities it was shocking and. It happened I guess about. One thirty in, the afternoon on a Sunday when cops were, called to shooting at, Chicago pizza was the. Mall restaurant hosting the tourney And when they came they, saw three people that were dead including the gunman so three. People eleven more we're, taking a local. Hospitals nine with. Gunshot wounds to, injured while running because people were running they were locking themselves in places and again it goes to that whole motive thing as what could that possibly The what would drive him to to do that and and that's all. Happening and of. Course video gaming, is incredibly incredibly popular the tournaments are all different sizes and there are people who are gamers who make millions of dollars the Jacksonville event was a regional. Qualifier for the October final in Vegas top prize for that. Twenty five grand and, its players really train hard for this, they're considered professionals. As I said five figures. Can be very common and, this is streamed live and the audience on twitch can reach up. To three hundred eighty million people. On twitch, streaming you could hear the gunshots in the background and the the Yeah there was a guess, at one point there was a razor red laser dot briefly that was on a competitor sweatshirt before the camera angles switch back to. The, video, game and then those dozen gunshots rang out was, that, competitor hit or not. There were people, who were in the room who. Said they heard this pop sound, the seemed it was gunshots and they just thought to run there. Was another gamer who said he was just eighteen setup bullet hit him in the thumb and he tweeted out life can be cut short in the second. I'll never take. Anything for granted, and that was it they you know he ran down the the street so they're trying to piece it together and figure out what a possible motive could.
