Just think it's still I I I just don't like. I'm not a fan. And have a prediction, because here's the thing. We don't even know if it's actually going to come in August like. Yeah, there's DC outfit yeah. Hey Dude it's not a fact yet. There have been other act yet, but like it's the it's happened happening. There have been other events that have made way more sense for these games to be revealed, and they have not happened so just because DC phantom is happening doesn't mean these announcements legit happening at this event, and who the fuck knows Sarah. Barrett in their press release. The the Rock Steady Bang Games and all that and I've been following waiting to hear the announcement I'm like I've kind of lost hope, but also I'm a little confused now and you can help me out, so is this so we think this is what they're doing. Instead of just another strata. Batman gave us that we're we're out with. From rock steady, yes. That's always kind of been the conversation I. Think Rock steady after. You know it was. It seemed that they wanted to lean off doing Batman Games. Can Be Montreal. We're the ones that are taking up the mantle of Batman Yeah. That was the rumor awhile back, which still has not been confirmed. Yeah and that's. That's that's been a that's been part of like kind of the mill for a while is that they were not doing anything Batman? They're doing something else I know there is a rumored superman game at one point in the they might have been working on and then I have been hearing things about suicide squad I think for like the last couple of weeks. Dislike doesn't super surprise me. it actually kind of excites me. Jessen the aspect of like. I was less excited at the idea of them, working on a superman game, and Greg is going to try to find me and kill me right now for saying that but just because I don't know, there's a way to make an interesting and good feeling superman game, but the idea of making a video game that centered around. Like very talented mercenaries who are out to kill very powerful superheroes like Superman and stuff I think that's a really cool setup for a possibly like. A lot of interesting flights throughout that game, so and and that's and that's the thing is like while. Yes I will miss the rock steady era. Of Batman. Games I totally respect like if they wanted to move on from from Batman for a while and so I'm I'm totally down to see what the suicide squad game is all about honestly. Y-, here's here's what I think is important. Question then is so if Montreal. worn rose Montreal's working on. In the spirit of the ARKHAM Games probably taking that same type of Gameplay to heart right probably try to do their best job with that type of game. Then what type of game would that make this you know? Is it just GonNa be these characters this story in the same game, but because that doesn't add up for me would. Be A bit. Are They GonNa take the the Marvel Route? Are they going to go? Do something crazy like that? I mean I think that is like the marvels vendors route might actually be what this lines up with because I I believe there had been rumors in the past. Pertaining to what rocks said, he's working on that. It is actually I. Think this is I was actually heard something. That's a long time ago I. Talked about it was like a like a op kind of game or like a multiplayer game in some senses, so yup, it could be like Marvel's avengers. That's about to come out, but with suicide squad, which sounds like a very strange game coming from rock steady I personally don't know how I feel about that..

I've got a lot of done with about ten different islands in the middle of it of different colors and different things in all eventually. Have to kind of knit them altogether. But I can't sit and do wish I just have to Walk by putting a couple of pieces and then keep going right. Spend all my time doing that. Yeah we're about to get into Greece and this is GonNa be a fun. One go next so before the before times. I wanted to watch homeland but it was like eight seasons of a show. It was daunting it was like. I'm not going to too much to catch up with. I don't think I'm ever going to watch homeland. But then lockdown started and it started watching homeland binging. It and I'm in season. I'm halfway through season three now and it is a ridiculous show. Where too much stuff happens But it's so addicting and good and so well plotted out and so like even the whole Carrie. Claire Danes plays a character named care. Even though Kerry can be very irritating and over the top. It is well acted and it's a really good-looking show. It's I I really am for it. I've I've been sanity cornering homeland for the last few weeks in recommended I loved homeland was very big Fan. I eventually had to drop off on that. An House of cards once Trump was elected. Because I would watch those shows and be like they have a better president than you have in real life and it made me to sad to continue. Yeah that's that's fair that's fair. I'm looking forward now. I'm looking forward to a time when we have a different president. A better president. I mean we could literally elect. It's ASPIRATIONAL TV. Yeah Yeah I'm looking forward to it after November. We're going to. We're going to have a better one mega you want to go. Yeah so my sandy corner. I'm guessing no one has said this yet is the last dance we were talking about it a bit off air before. It's not a perfect documentary but it is deaf and I hated Michael Jordan. Like hated this man my entire life. We have the same birthday I was like so against him and now. I'm watching the documentary and I'm like he's funny. He's hot he's charming. He's right people say mean. Guess what I mean to were mean in the same way so. I'm really loving sad that this is the last weekend and I know this weekend. He's going to beat my beloved Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals in going to be tough but unloading that and also the origins podcast less. I think you would like He. Does he has a whole season about sex. In the city and every single one of them minus control is interviewed and talks about the inception and the Ark of the fashion. And it's just really fun. I listened to long cooking and I am writing down. The last dance is so fun like I was saying. I think like look yes. It is not a perfect documentary but right now what. America needs is footage of the Nineties Bulls played over ninety hip hop back with everything was better. But we didn't know it. Everything was better except fashion because everybody was wearing brown all the time every at fat Brown ties and browns suits and it. Just you know Brown headbands on the women and it just never. It wasn't quite wasn't quite working for me fashion wise but the night. It's such a dip into nineties style like I've I yearn to be in Chicago in Nineteen ninety-two like visser. I Like I want to be there. It's it's such a fun. It's a fun place to be an escape it okay. Well that's the show for this week. Thanks to Molly Ball for talking to us about her. New Book. "So that's helped me. Yeah old sitcoms from like not old but like from fifteen years ago or less sometimes are a fun rewatch because sometimes. They're really shockingly poorly aged. Sometimes it's like Whoa. This isn't like how I met your mother little Other ones like Mindy Project. Maybe aged a little bit better but a little bit better. Yeah how about you? Have you been watching listening to anything? Particularly Great The two things that have been getting me through. I've been watching a lot of Bob's burgers. It's love just seeing a family. Go through little tiny conflicts and having sweet endings is really making my heart. Feel better and I love all those characters The other thing is my partner and I started listening to bad blood on audible the story about Elizabeth homes very good which I I was like obsessed last year and listen to the drought and did all the like documentaries. And now I'm I'm I'm ready to dive back in and get even more details and the other thing only because it's a new book. She's a friend and also a friend of the pod to AMI's Sam Irby's wow no thank you. I've been thumbing through this and it is so funny. Adjust came out and she's awesome. She's like funniest one of the people in America. I think so funny. She's coming to get that she also has IBS Eliza. I know that I know my okay. How ravaged I am like in terms of my socialization from being in isolation all the time. I'm like you should be friends. Your butts have the same problem. You'd be surprised it really is a common. It's A. It's a convening factor. I I've been reading quite a I just finished. The new N Que jemison book the city we became. It's really good. It's like high hard scifi fantasy. It's great but the thing that I've been listening to a lot is there's this woman in bat for lashes and she had an album that came out last year called the lost girls that is like a concept album about vampire girls in Los Angeles and it has. It's like really like night in L. A. Cool vibe to it and it's like it reminds me of like driving with the windows down during the summer at night. It's really really cool. And it like is really listenable album. Love it all the way through so lost girls champion adding love bat for lashes. Adding it new album is like a true. It's true to form like she definitely is like she's doing it. She's still doing it. So great it's great okay. Well that is all the time we have for this short Friday edition of Hysteria. This is sanity corner but I I want to introduce a new segment that we're going to do next week. So here's here's how this came about so this girlfriend from college. I'm sure all of you guys have a group of girlfriends from college and we have this giant ass techs chain that since isolation has been really blowing up because everybody is at home and has time to text all the time now. A lot of my friends from college have kids and a lot of their kids. They're at home with their kids for the first time during the school day like in a long time and their kids are getting a little squirrelly and a every single day we'll be. We'll be texting. Oh we'll we'll be texting. One of my friends will be like. Oh sorry one second. One of my kids like Pete on the other kids homework and it's always just like child shenanigans and I'm not a parent but I have a lot of friends who are parents and so in honor of the fact that a lot of parents are stuck at home with their kids and kids are weird and exhausting. We're starting something called the parental vent line. It's for parents who need just thirty seconds to vent about your weird ass kiss so if your kids are acting particularly wacky or like cabin fever every strange or terrifyingly STOIC. We want to hear it. You can record a thirty second voice my mind your phone and you can email it to hysteria a crooked dot com and next week. We're going to play some of our favorites. And if your kids are weird enough we might just call you to chat about it because we're bored too so parental vent line force memo to HYSTERIA CROOKED DOT COM. Let's see what happens with that. Should be fun. Okay let's get corner Eliciting want to go first shore so on my my march of craftiness is started by learning how to decorate a cake. Because I need things that just take my mind away where I have to be focused under small things on then. I started drying flowers. That's going pretty well and so this week. I'm starting knitting. Oh have you done it before? We'll see how no no no. I got the starter kit at Joann Fabric. What are you gonNa make first a scarf? Probably Right No. I think I'm GonNa make a little blanket for Midge. The cat because she's so small. I'll feel very accomplished and I won't have had to do a lot okay. Knitting is a good thing. When you've just given the cat just the ball of yarn that will that will also be involved cure in. That's also part of it at sea. It'll be a whole instagram story. Just Watch out for cure and always with the practical but less funds solution just trying to save time trying to save time more time to stare at a wall. What's your sanity sustaining behavior? I've been watching a lot of old movies like just old movies that I haven't seen I some moonstruck. Which is I think for free on Amazon prime right now and it's fantastic. It's great it's very funny. It's very charming. Nicholas cage is actively actively terrible like. He's so bad his acting so bad. There's he's got this weird hand. He's very melodramatic. Share is like phenomenal thing. She won an Oscar for Olympia. Dukakis is in it she's fantastic. It's like a warm sweet charming uplifting movie where like everyone's amazing Nicholas Cage is so bad that I paused the television and like rewound to see if the performance was different. Even though it can't be different 'cause it's the same movie you can't you can't change it out. It's like literally what you just watched so the man yeah. I haven't seen that moving along time but it's so good and Nicholas Cage is characters just like I feel like his motivation is like the directors like okay. You're too horny to live go. I feel like he was in his own movie. I feel like he was in his own seat. I was like I do even looking at what anyone else around you is doing. Great Hugh even paying attention to the other human beings. I'm not because on. Nicholas Cage my hand I I. I'm one hundred percent watching this tonight. Brought up without question. I have not been able to watch anything but I am genuinely. I am amplitude. Shares Reaction Nichols case. She's like literally you can see on our officials. Like what the Fuck Are you? What is and then? She's been that's also her character's reaction. It's really well written and charming and it's delight it's it's a delight and there's a lot of old movies like that that are that are really a kind of delightful films that. I haven't had a chance to watch a lot of our free right now so or like like included in your subscription to. You know where you don't have to pay extra as a great tip. There's so many old movies that I just haven't gotten a pass to me by and then it was like but there's too much new content. I need to consume and I just never watched them. And that's like that's a great. That's a great tip my sanity corner this week is. I'm not great at staying in touch normally but I've been making a ton of effort to reach out to people and talk to people. Olis' I've been talking to you quite a bit. I've been talking to my family quite a bit and my group of Friends from college. I feel like we're closer to each other's daily lives than we've ever really been since college and so that's kind of a cool way to stay sane also like there are some people like I T- I talked to my brother for a long time yesterday and it felt nice to just sort of like vent feels good to just frustrated or angry or you're worried or anything negative you can just kind of vent it and it feels better to feel it with somebody else than it does to just feel it by yourself so. I think reaching out to people that maybe you oh I've also been keeping in touch with with Akilah Hughes. We facetime the other day. Oh it's like it's just a good way to just be like. Oh Hey you know what a great way to keep in touch with people who I think are great and who. I don't normally make an effort to reach out to all the time. So that's my sanity corner. All right so Karen Melissa thank you so much for stopping by today thank you to Senator Maisy Hirono for facetime ing with us. Which was crazy and thanks to all of you for listening. Please stay healthy. Stay safe and stay sane and there will be more hysteria for you next week. So with Dr Anne. Hysteria is a product Crooked Media Carolina. Reston is our producer. "How about Korn minus cord ni-nice is fine. What about that scene in big when he eats like a corn on the cob? I love that instead. That one's good. Oh my gosh. My college roommate. One of my college roommates was equally opposed to baby corn. Also a Mexican American released. She was just like fuck baby. She was so aggressively anti baby corn. It tastes like shit. And I love going. It's not good. Besmirching the good name of truly does. Authentic scented. Okay. Julius up bring us home. Okay. So my Hilton today on is cancelling people on the internet is stupid. Blue should not be canceling people on the internet. Unless it's Tommy Laurent because. Because she has shown a pattern of disrespected inappropriate behavior. Yes, that is a from the office memory. Glad office, but canceling people in our, in it's dumb. I was once cancelled Zane that pizza is better than tacos. Which is another hill, owls, Iowa then everybody came out and they're like you're cancels what the nose wheel, cancel you, and I'm like, I, I love pizza. And, you know, people need to give some grace to grow because we're all growing we all make mistakes. We're all just human beings on this earth, trying to make the best that we can out of it. And so let's give people some grace in except county except time because again daily again, she has shown a pattern of disrespected inappropriate behavior. Yes, her, she showed up to one of Megan's comedy shows one time she raised her on what which city. Manhattan beach. She lives down there. Well, she laugh I go and Fox News, sometimes don't cancel me for that. Sometimes I do it and she was coming out of the city when I was coming in. And so I got to hear her mess up like twenty times. And I was like, oh, Hugh, mess up so much. That is actually provide me, some comfort go through that style. Which is always a favorite, but don't cancel people internet, stop it. It's, it's silly show. People grace, let's be better human being. Yeah. I think cancel culture can at its worst. Rob people of growth. Yeah. And it's a kind of cynical thing to do. "Of your Android. Mcdonagh fans are tweeting but like signing their tweets show are also, by the way, I feel like I mean, like I appreciate it as a stand for years and years and years, I still am one to a certain degree. I always felt like that a strength, Madonna fans that even the most hardcore had a bone to pick with her, like, all right. At that moment, you had whatever VM as a hate it or whatever. But because that's what's cool about her. She's like a provocateur or whatever, but I feel like within this era and the past couple of years. And maybe it's combating you know, like the ageism and stuff that happens with her. I feel like that sort of I have a bone to pick with her or like being able to be rational as a Madonna fan. Sort of jumped out the window, right? You end up defending all these other these other stupid gripes that people have about. I mean, I feel like once you had to start defending her like caller her son. And it was a slippery slope. And you lost sense of reality. Right. All right. Well, do you have a keep it you can comply to if you want, I do I do keep it. You know have a. Have been pressing on my soul.
