It's a healthy debate. And this is good for me to talk to people that disagree with me so i raised a point of view so i have this justification going on in my head while doing it but the way it makes me feel. I'm anxious. I'm angry protect your meant your mental health. You're physical health. That's literally have to do like jessica really good at this. She turns it off and she's like i feel so much better and i'm like you know that's a smart strategy. It's a very smart strategy when you start to find yourself because bad news. We are wired to follow bad news because it was beneficial evolutionary speaking. That's why even the three of us the four of us we can get together and one of us will start it off a. Did you see what happened today. And so and so and the next thing you know it's like forty five minutes of us making ourselves more angry. Did we used to have like positive. Hopeful message is out there. You know like like that. We're getting a lot more media coverage and publicity and there's nothing nothing i can point to an example of a leader out there You know really taking the reins with that trying to bring people together. Everybody is motivated to separate sick of that. Though they try to get my sports up blast away used to be safe. Eight is say baby. That's why i was so passionate about that a couple years ago. "Okay chewing on red man. It's been all morning up in the tree. Stand burgers and hotdogs live and for football like this that we're in a true sense. Okay tell me about the tree saying burgers and hot dogs living for football backwoods battlecry made with a duck call. Lots so simple. Like sweet ice tea. Here's recipe way drive trucks. Will you drink my whiskey and hunt deer. We say things like yes. Ma'am in howdy. Y'all laugh sounds better with the southern drawl. Ti top shabby with the roof. Yeah but don't you think it's fair rappers. People who copy rappers become corny and again at least the no no story whatsoever country this is actual ears country music mashed potato nothing like rotten ripe tomato bible belt to the core. We support our troops at wore grand our pre barbecue we support amendment to just about everything is a little better with twang bar. Abs lives right. I couldn't i couldn't dab heart is the is the part that like when you asked me you like that. Little is the one. Yes that fucking no saori. My point is there's no fucking story like it least sammy kershaw's there is a story we've set this up and there's something going towards the rail book and art. It's just the of the dumbest person who can afford to buy an album. Yeah that's accurate so there that's my answer all out. Yeah i dig. It hits for me to shortage you buy me. I think i. I guess i would just say like as i don't know what the history of when country music started like on honestly like from official timeline is it. Is it back in the seventeen hundreds or like modern like music. There's no there's no easy answer to that. I mean the structure of it and the instruments and then some of the ballads get date all the way back to ireland. But if you're talking about her but if you're talking about modern country music you got probably start with both hillbilly music and Black american black southern music and the Record companies split those two camps a lotta hillbillies and black musicians made music together and the record companies decided i think in the fifties to separate them as a business move. Yeah i was gonna. It's fascinating you say that. Because i was going to be like this seems like a reflection of corporate and just corporate entities squeeze out every three can little everything from everything and it's really gross because it doesn't leave. I mean so leaves the artist to do their thing but the guy was making fun of it on within the video he was like. I don't want to do this stupid. It's almost like eating or anything that song he wants to do. Something better he has to do it in order to survive this marketplace to chartres. Smart for this podcast. That's one way while we have you here to keep us in. What was the writing system that we agreed on bubbas..

Salary mccartney was the president's chief of staff whom i did not like the rally was like pulp concert. The crowd broke into chance. Kiruna lizards eventually. The woma speakers did the thing. Most of them accused the president of the world of being a lying cheating lissette which not true however they hailed mickey king. The feeding the people on a diet of truth and hotdogs lost the host announced a wise and widely travelled guess. The crowd went wild with cheese for the parents. Greetings fellow earthlings. Cost the parents as fluttered behind the microphone. My crew in. I have traveled across the universe and seen many things as the perfect said. "You talked about especially jonathan having to give up okay. What was apparently a very promising high school football career where he was going to be quarterback at freshman which is a pretty unheard of. And you know he had a girlfriend there so he's now having to skype with girlfriend and i'm sure that will quickly fall by the wayside is these things tend to do long distance relationships very very hard to Maintain although nick is doing a pretty good job of it. Just say well you relate to jones in that moment for the traveling go friend you know you you become best friends with skype zoom you name it yes go do what you gotta use it exactly. Yes so So you know. There's obviously frustrations so What did you guys make of the adjustments as the kids. Move into smallville. It set up on the kid. For jesse. I loved the the idea of you know. They're both adjusting like jordan. Can't even go to school. 'cause they're worried about him. Tick me off you know. Jonathan doesn't get the playbook and he's trying not to make a big deal about it but now he's behind you and he's already resentful. We already had a quarterback so that's just enough teen drama. You know then you kind of that. That's that's good for you know. It doesn't get bogged down in it exactly and right like my hope is This is a show that a family can watch together right right like like you know you. You can watch this and kind of joy that together in something for all ages. That is something that you want to have happen you. Will you want to see that. So i like that back and forth I i'm a little worried about You know Clark no longer has his daily planet salary in this world. We've not established that he is a professor. You know been a brilliant novelist or has written a lot of books. So he has an independent like in some continuities. Three lowest song other hazard saori but but they are trying to get the farm up and running so they can get right from the firm so one of the things that we brought up Back in the day of the old superman comics is. "Back and we're back. Hullo you're listening to to heart. Kito hero reminiscent of catsuit. We know toki theme of kasumi from dead or alive. Two for the dreamcast can by makoto. Zoe. again. Going through a whole other. Podcast where i play some planning game. Music i love fighting game. So much i did play love losing it. I did play a lot of dead or alive. I think i was the only one i really got into. Never never broke into tech in or virtual fighter. But i always enjoy or Really saw caliber. I always enjoy watching those competitions and stuff online but dead or alive to back in the day was what i put a lot of hours. Try to get better at just felt very fluid. Did you guys doing any like james of this calendar of fighting game styles back in the day or even presently fighting game player at gnc. Really i mean. I did the street fighter to back in the day just like everybody else. Yeah ever really got heavily into it more at the denver anything that yeah also a lot of really cheap talk on streetfighter. Style games from that era and stuff. And i think the oversaturation s- kind of spoiled. The genre genre for me. Oh i never really had the opportunity to play like the golden age of fighting games from that era like street fighter. Two and all that i played it but i didn't i wasn't really old When i was older. I played like soul calibre to on on xbox a bunch and that was a lot of fun. Sometimes it depends on like on the group that you're playing with Comeback we did play a lot of mortal kombat eight or whatever it was way. Too many pros sap the joy out virtually brings color test. Where's the competition. I'm trying to be one please. That's interesting to see how online competition this past year has really like the tire. Capcom cup for streetfighter is all online. Now i think yvo out think egos happening again Similar things are happening with yvo. Which is the biggest fighting tournament in las vegas and in the world Similar things are happening there that are happening to us so just not great management. So that's that's not good so but now it's important things. Things is growing so so large that that we can have these problems. So i'm looking bursting looking for a smaller smaller. Smaller groups so like local scenes are always awesome. Local philly scenes. Smaller groups means possibly wackier games. Making the cut. That's where pronounced wacky like fighters walk walk seven tournament. Pleased but when i think of this era especially on the dreamcast is when i really got into bullet hole in shoot 'em up games and so that's like one of my things for this year. I want us. I've been streaming on. Dvr and now i want to start branching out and start streaming Schumann's trying to with that. Because i think i've been. I've been trying so hard to crack the code of wettin people want these things. I do. Think you playing pool at the caliber challenger bring that back full circle that you do would be a good draw for full. I'm not good. Just play though. I play them. But i'm not good at your vote. One credit clear giga wing two. Yeah one time. One time when i had my seventeen year old reflexes playing that go way they don't go. I'll look if i'm not. I'm not rolling in the twitch dollars because no one wants to see a sweaty forty year old man. Planned instance dance. I don't want what they want with. Robbie the actually if you weeks ago big and like it's it's kind of think people white looking you partly sunny places so many interesting games. I think you could do one a week. Just to like some random like like title once a week just like see how far you can get with a way yuppie site to watch further puking employees. Thank god what's your final track. Well this one is also semi relevant to me in an odd way to bring it full surrounded round back for such. Wanna play this track on the show on is from the game yuccas dragon. And it's the sub story battle theme. I'll know who specifically composed but as he didn't showed me yuri fukuda. She hero elke in saori yoshida. Ask potential hits wonders. It's always disappointing. When you have a list of composers and you try to find the original soundtrack or something online and and it's not broken out..

"Mike Faron joins me here on CBS portrayal. How's your fourth going, Mr Parent? It has been great. So far. My wife bought me big green a fire that up for the first time We've been hanging out with the dogs and trying to avoid 105 degree. Ah, What did you put Ned? Big green egg. Well, we did a chicken today just because it's the first cooks you trying to do some simple stuff right? But Carl. I get bigger things plan, so I go home. Kearney out of Otto getting ready so you don't be I cook. So that's what we like to hear. And the question is, Will baseball cooked this year? Will we ever get this season underway? We've gotten a couple of reports over the last few days. Corbett 90 positive test returns. The numbers, I think can be a little misleading because they actually looked pretty good in comparison to what Ah lot of the overall country numbers are and all the players are coming in from all over the country, so but we're just going to continue to get reports on a daily basis. Early results, something you could be optimistic about my parents. Well, I mean, I agree with you. I think the numbers are a little misleading, not because they're out of whack so much with what it sounds like the national average is in terms of the number of people. I mean, it's significantly lower than what you had with them create testing. I think something like 5% of players. That tested positive there. But there's also 116 the number of people that would be tested that are in baseball. So I think for misleading because you know there are a number of players that and staff the tested positive before the intake, So I'm not sure that those air counted not all of the players that have gone through the intake and had the results. So the early returns weren't necessarily fully accurate, so I don't know that I would read too much into it. I mean, I don't think it's too bad that 1% is testing positive. That's you know, probably about as good as signed as you can get. But, you know, like I'm more concerned about guys like Freddie Freeman, who tested positive on Tuesday, and then we're went there whenever it wasn't. It wasn't feeling well the next day and now has tested positive. Unfortunately, he stayed away from the team. And so maybe he hasn't put them at risk. But it is worth You know, keeping an eye on that There's going to be basically a two day lag in some of these testing, and just because somebody test positive when the results are announced Tuesday doesn't mean that by the time they're there next round, with a results are announced on What Thursday and Friday at exactly we had our first major defection. A couple of nationals earlier in the week decided that they weren't going to give it a go. But today, David Price of the Dodgers said And he's given up all heck of a lot of money to make his choice and stay home here. He's all these players are in camp now testing some part of some negative. Ah, but others tests can affect people's decisions and the like. Is David Price an outlier or should we get ready to open up the floodgates? Yeah, I'm not sure we're gonna have a huge flood date either. I mean, I think What we've seen with the N B A. You probably know the numbers better than I. What? Victor Oladipo, I know just said that he was going to stay home and that What? Someone like eight players now out of the 306. So I make again if you can extrapolate that, you know if you end up with 40 or so players that that end up opting out, I mean, it sounds like a big number, but it's a similar percentage. And that certainly I think would be within line. I think there are a number of guys that want to play. I think there are a number of guys that probably don't think it's as serious as an issue as it is, so they're willing to play through it. And I think that there are others still have a lot of financial incentive to play that feel like they need to do that, for for their own financial burden for their family, and so I think it's it's a difficult decision. I think whether you stay in or you decide to out doubt I certainly don't fault David Price for acting out in the midst of a pandemic, especially with The number of positive cases that continue to rise, especially in the South and the West. So you know, I understand where he's coming from, and I think that's the right decision that he needs to make. To try and Stacy this year. I think you know the finding yourself in a position where you feel like you're saying that certainly that the best way to go, but I don't know it's going to be. I don't know that it's going to be a huge number. In the end, it will be bigger than 1/2 dozen We've seen so far. Don't know if you know the answer to that is when we both probably should I could sew. It came on me for having to ask this question. And I'm asking because I don't know the enter price ops out. No, he's giving up his salary. He was already Not going to be paid for the 100 came to weren't going to be played. But now he's going to give up his salary for the rest of the season, which I think is about $11 million some of which the Dodgers save someone with the Red Sox say because they were supposed to pay some of prices. Saori the here Does the contracts that does the year of the contract? Stay in place? If he helped, you know? No, you you lose service time, but not the year of the contract, so so, like it would be a bigger issue is a David price were at like, you know, like approaching free agency like Save Mookie Betts adopted head outfit out of season er side topped out of season he would not be in the service that would make him eligible for free agency at the end of the year. Poor ifs. A price was like nine years and 160 days of service, you know, full season is 181 that he wouldn't be fully vested in the 10 year pension..

I think you know the finding yourself in a position where you feel like you're safe is certainly the way to go. But I don't know it's going to be. I don't know that it's going to be a huge number. In the end, it will be bigger than 1/2 dozen We've seen so far. Don't know if you know the answer to that one. We'd both probably should I could sew. It came on me for having dances question and I'm asking because I don't know the enter price ops out. No, he's giving up his salary. He was already Not going to be paid for the 100 came to weren't going to be played. But now he's going to give up his salary for the rest of the season, which I think is about $11 million some of which the Dodgers save someone with the Red Sox say because they were supposed to pay some of prices. Saori the here It is the contracts that does the year of the contract stay in place if he had to know. No, you you lose service time, but not the year of the contract, So I feel like it would be a bigger issue is a David price were at light, You know, like approaching free agency like Mookie Betts, adopted head opted out of season started out the season..

Dollar wise, and that comes up next year, or maybe in the next few months, or maybe in the next few weeks as you start to get clarity so number five here is you want to get agreement on the top line items is once. You've done this once. You've kind of middle. Thing I a metal system around a little bit and prioritized and eliminated delegated. It's now what we want to think about. Is. Those top three thanks. And if you really have a great relationship with your boss, or you feel comfortable in asking this I would actually kind of ask tongue-in-cheek either way it say you know what if I could double my output on the top three. Is it reasonable to think I can get a big increase in Saori because I'm doubling the output on the things that really matter. Now seen that question asked that directly and get a Yes, by the way I've seen that question asked. One of our clients said to my coach. This is what she said she said. My Code suggests that if I kinda, get get a bigger impact on the top three items that you might give me a pay raise. She kind of laughed as she was not blaming the coach, right, it was kind of her. Careful TAC tact. poops careful, tactful way of bringing up the subject, but the answer she got was where your coaches right I probably can't double your pay, but I can significantly increase it if we can really move the needle on these things. She was pleasantly surprised and she did and all worked. So. I hope you get this. This is always doing here these this five steps this is it. These five steps is what we're trying to do. Here is do two things. Two critical things it has if you've done this, have just happened number one. You communicated to your boss. How much value at last year?.

"Even though it looked like Rutger bregman was very smart. He also called him a bunch of other things and the line that I think Roger bregman head. That was really amazing was calling him Tucker Carlson. Tuck the a millionaire who works for billionaires. And sort of just does their bidding doesn't talk about these issues about the wealthy being to wealthy. This is a big move. This idea of the well, it's gonna hit Silicon Valley people all kinds of people the wealthy being to wealthy and taxing them ASEA's one with Warren. I just talked to her advisers on that how do you look at that? What again, I look at it in the larger context of the Obama administration not punishing any of the bankers. I think that's a fair every. Thing is stemming from this anger that that was not resolved properly. Right. Right. And that this do you think it has it has legs or because there's so many of these proposals. Yeah, I do because now is an a majority of Democrats young gets. Okay. The seventy. Lots lots more people than you think this is recognized saying more people than you think. Well, they brought this on themselves by being pigs. I always say they're so bore. All they have is money. All right. You're you're fail. Oh my fail. Well, let's see. I wrote down lot of them gave you the split screen one. Okay. And also, I think Cuomo and to Blasi oh or fail because they couldn't present. They couldn't either negotiate this thing or present this thing in a way that could or save this right away. Couldn't make it work. Right. You know, 'cause in some ways it would have been nice innovators in New York, if it had been properly done, and oh, and I told you I think Trump has the fail when he talks about the press and goes up against a g Sulzberger is enemy of the people. Because every time he does that digital subscriptions, jump, right? Which is good. Which obviously Jesse smallest of. Yeah. Yeah. Talking about us. You know, if you're gonna if you're gonna stage, homophobic and racist attack. I guess you shouldn't do it with extras from your own show. Also, it might be a fail for the media. The police were just having a press conference chest is in the media because we're also eager to believe the anti Trump plotlines. Right. You know, and we have to be careful also in Covington. Yeah. Do you? Remember a long time. This is the this is the teen who they're suing the Washington Post over this. I'm not sure why they picked the Washington Post particularly over anybody else. But but they but this idea of jumping to conclusions. Yes, I would buy it. Also, you know, I was thinking while I was watching this press conference. I guess the reason he did it is because he wanted to bigger salary. So it would have been better. If you just read lean in. Vice the way to get a bigger Saori is to smile at your boss during souring. Yes, he's not gonna get any salary. It'd be out of salaries. Yeah. He's definitely a failed. It was it's depressing because you know, issues around people of color and gay people are very severe in this country for real. And so did to us that at and then added onto a Trump thing. Just was was just it's just I can't even think of someone who would think of some doing something that you know, that shell empires based on King Lear, and there are a lot of comparisons. These days with Trump in King Lear, you know, howling at the moon is so literal Maureen, I know Shelly bringing kipnes bring Shakespeare in. I think a win was these these documentaries about R Kelly and Michael Jackson and the new Alex Gibney one about Theorin knows. Yes, exactly. That's coming out. That's that's on the HBO. There's several of them. What do you think of these? I mean, they're all sort of finally. Telling the tales of what occurred the one on Jackson. I think is leaving Neverland. Well, how didn't look at these? It's interesting because my friend Maureen orth did some groundbreaking on my bed Jackson in Vanity Fair, you know, twenty years ago, and she would tell me the time about the vicious reaction. Michael Jackson fans, and she'd say it would be worse. You know, the next day..

"Not what they often appear to be like big threatening scary vents or absolute facts or rules that have to be followed. And you'll find great examples wanna heading graduate school might professor was describing a lemon in such great detail that when I pictured my mind. And then he said that Nelson we're biting into it. And we weren't we didn't have lemons in front of us, but my mouth salivated, and I felt all Saori that's even a word. But in a moment, my mind was in a state of what is called cognitive fusion my mind bought into my thoughts as a reality. My thoughts were the truth. My thoughts were incredibly important. They were orders. It was if they were wise, but my brain was just going to town with those images and thoughts of the limit my mind was views. So think about that. How often do you use to your thoughts back to those stories if we use to the I can't find a therapist? I don't even know where to start if you use to that. If that's a fact that's like that salary flavor of the lemon. Then what do you have to do? You know, if you're buying into that. Then you you're not going to go try to find a therapist. So what do we learn when we views from our thoughts? That's our goal. We're looking for defusion with perspective, we can learn that when we diffuse from our thoughts, we see them more just again as bits of language passing through. We get a whole bunch of thoughts. And so why are we choosing to fuse to the ones that we do? It's because our brain is trying to kinda keep us right where we are keep stuck. So what do we do step two of act of acceptance and commitment therapy or principal to expansion or acceptance? This is the practice of making room for the unpleasant feelings or sensations urges instead of trying to suppress them or push them away. Because we know that that practice of trying to suppress our thoughts or push. Away. Our thoughts usually bring us right back to making spill bad for even having them or feel in broken because they come back. I did a podcast long long ago. Talking about those darned unwanted thoughts. There's a really fascinating thing called on one thought syndrome, and the three tenets of unwanted thoughts syndrome are first of all we all have these unwanted thoughts. Irrational thoughts. He's inappropriate thought. See scary thoughts. He's violent thoughts. We have them again. That's just the perfect example of what our brain does. But the second tenant of inappropriate syndrome is just because we have those thoughts doesn't mean that. That's what we're that's who we are. That's what we're gonna do. If you're sitting there at the table when you've got a state knife in your hand. And you thought, you know. If I jam this end of the person beside me sounds horrific. Right. But if I was gonna say who hasn't had those thoughts, there's people Tony. I really haven't. But I've talked to enough people that they have those if you're driving on the road, and you think about what would happen if I just Rian my car off this way or the one that I always go back to when I'm on a high building or even four or five floors up at a indices suites hotel. Overlooking the atrium at those giant Koi fish that kind of give me the creeps specially the ones with the bubble head. I think man, I can totally jump right now. And then my legs get weird feeling, but I've ever done it. Nope. Haven't done it in. So we all have those thoughts because we have them doesn't mean that we're crazy. But the third part of inappropriate syndrome is thought suppression does not work. It's the old don't think about white polar bear right now. And I just did. So unless you're talking to like a ten to twelve year old boy who says I didn't think about one that's the way of brain works so expansion or acceptance making room for these thoughts in your brain. And then just accept them. You know, it's like these thoughts. I always think about a very visual person. In a visual learner. The my brain's stage minds stage that sort of thing. So I think these thoughts are walking around checking things out in your brain the truth is if you can just give them a little head nod lay. Hey inappropriate about thought..

Saori Nelson professor principal twelve year
