You do it. But it's shouldn't be a prerequisite of you get books play somewhere obviously the some raves event happened that you have to kind of do the thing is part of the deal about imagine is being an actor. You shouldn't be involved in the safety procedures stuff and the set because you have enough things to worry about of performance. I remember your lines should be focused on that. "Idea of what investigators have learned about the fatal shooting on the set of rust last week so far most of what we have learned officially has come from court papers to support warrants that were filed in the case in which Alec Baldwin accidentally kill the cinematographer on the movie rust but today the Santa Fe county sheriff's department and county district attorney got to meet with reporters and share what they've learned the DA Mary Carmack old wise tells the Associated Press that the probe is still in its early stages that suggests we will not be hearing any bombshell news such as whether criminal charges will be filed he says the investigation is nowhere near the point where decisions are being made about filing charges and that prosecutors will not act until the probe is complete meanwhile

"330 in this state ties, a record 29 Santa Fe County, but 1/2 of the 330 in Burnley, L County and the mayor down there, Mayor Tim Keller. We all like Tim got a tough job. But he says we always want to start nice, but with those kind of numbers would I mean if those were the numbers in rear Reba Counting those that the numbers in Espanola would your attitude change? Would you be standing outside? Low saying Go back to your car? You're not welcome until you were a mouse. I think we will. In fact, we have been saying that already. So people do come in without masks who say you haven't and I think I think we have to be very realistic, though about where these numbers are coming from his well and and B isn't information lead as possible. In other words, Assed faras. I know and I may be wrong, but most of the transmission is happening. Under under close quarters. Okay, we know And it's happening. Parties or get together is a gathering places like that. So you're against this. We have to You're you would like to see the restaurants open up. We're a restaurant guy. You run arrest. Do I am way we do run a restaurant. You know we're tourney. Buy this right? We want employees to feel like they can come to work and be in a safe environment. We want our guests to come in and feel like they're going to be in a safe environment. So just me personally as a business person, we are spending and investing quite a bit of money right now. To include outdoor seating. And maybe even, you know, double our capacity because that's what we have to do, because I personally think that this is going to take us well into next year. So if anybody thinks Oh, if we just wear a mask, it will get over with soon. I think we're fooling ourselves. So we need to really look at this with a long term lens and figure out what's going to be best for the greatest number of people in that population for the greatest amount of time. Mayor vest Manolo Javier Sanchez is our guest. Although the scientists say, the doctors say the experts say of 80% of the population were mass, we could be reducing this to a buy a significant amount in six weeks. That's right. I think what we need to concentrate on is exactly that in combination with what I said a little while ago, which is if we were masked while we are together, confined in our backyard in our living rooms or when we're together, I think that's where we need to place the greatest amount of focus. It's not just, you know, hanging around, Ah, Wal Mart or lows or something like that. I think What we don't know is that we're bringing it to our homes to our households to our baptism, parties, graduation parties and those sort of high volume. Places where you are, um, made into contact or put into contact with the virus. You know, it's all about devolution. So stay as far away as you can for the shortest amount of time as you can. I don't want to put words in your mouth Mayor. But are you saying that it comes down to zip codes? And in Santa Fe County, the worst zip code is where I'm sitting right now and where I live, 87507 That's the worship code in this area because And most people say is cultural because it's a poor part of town. It's the Southside part of town. A lot of families living together. A lot of families who get together. Don't wear mask. They hang out together too close, too close contact together. Is. I mean, that's part of the problem in Espanol as well, right? You know, it's part of a problem around the world. I said this from the beginning and I think you and I had also sort of talked about it. This virus is certainly going to effect disproportionately people of color. Going to affect disproportionately people who live in close quarters with one another. There's certainly an education gap about the need to wear a mask or not wear mask. What is this virus even all about? All of those factors truly add up to a situation that is going to continue to separate the has from have not if that's how you want to put it. Goingto continue to separate people of color, gender, a lot of different issues that we really need to look at..

"A lot for the week little bit again yesterday but down a lot for the week will be on the show if you mean email Richard at Santa Fe dot com joining us now Santa Fe county commissioner district to enhance the commissioner good afternoon good afternoon Richard all right we will talk to people about today what is your message today to the people of Santa Fe county commissioner I send out a newsletter yesterday that I want to share with people and let them know that you know we're in a transitional time in that we need to take advantage of this transitional time and start to think about how we want our planet and our lives will continue after this highs that were and how do we want to transform for the better how will you turn your life for the better I am going to continue to work hard for my constituents am I getting give me am I getting that a exactly no some good okay okay great I I hear a little bit of feedback on my end so how I'm going to transformed my own life just make sure I have a garden make sure I continue to work on the principle that I have believed for the past fifty years which is that climate change is real and that we need to work for making a better planet a better environment for all of the okay all right right here at all I agree with all of those I I thought you wouldn't I want to share my email with people it's a campaign HA and SEN at Santa Fe county and the M. dot gov and they can send me an email and we will share with them my newsletter that keeps them abreast of what the county is doing for them you know that was the other thing the county passed a really progressive birthday resolution right before we went into this corona virus and when we come out of it on the other side you are going to continue to plant trees and bushes just like we planned to April twenty second Earth Day Eric gay all right so they'll be delayed they'll be delayed until probably June July at least we all hope that our guest is enhanced and she is a Santa Fe county commissioner from district two okay Mister I asked the mayor this earlier and it you know it it's it's a tough call we know from from state estimates state officials health officials and it's not just that obviously got just a New Mexico thing it's it's a national thing that the the worst spread the word death toll the worst positive testing for corona virus is still ahead of us how do you see the how do we balance the message of stay home wear a mask stay away from people don't cop in people's faces do all the right behavior how do we balance that along with with the business interests the economic interests that we have to have commissioner well we are I I'm a I'm formulating okay announcer but out one of the things we can do is does essential businesses local businesses that are still working like were unity resource community farm right I'm sorry those are the kind of places we can support New Mexico is a very world date and so we have a lot of small businesses I agree we need to help them with this small business administration loans that are available should any of them that complex why for that it's really important but looking at our small businesses are thinking how can we help them as we move through this okay enhance it is our guest is Tennessee county commissioner ours what do we do it commissioner in this time of of a health crisis well what's your heart what's your what's your focus be our priorities be in terms of housing and taking care of the homeless we should make sure that they are bad which is a really important part of keeping them healthy and but many many communities have put the homeless and hotels in different places like that the city is much more have a much more stronger our homeless population but we are working very closely with them our community service department at Brett let Brad run by Rachel o'connor is working with kera over at the city so you know we're in communication we're talking about how we can work together our Santa Fe county has three and it's county absolutely all our city of Santa Fe and as you work and so we have to reach out to all of them are in aspen Yola they have this pathway shelters that are we tried to get money for through the legislature but that didn't happen but they're still serving people up there and so were still working to write them in ways that we can are all of our budget is going to be cut all of our income it's going to be slashed it might we might not feel at this minute but what's important is our keeping our employees employed three and taking care of the people that we can take care of so that we can come out of this on the other side to even be stronger you're doing all of the Santa Fe county commission meetings I would assume virtually via zoom more okay where where you're in a modern way back okay we we had our commission meeting on Tuesday via web chat okay tell people to go and they can also watch it on YouTube or listen to it and watch on YouTube all right let's take a break and I want to come back and I want to ask about that meeting and the closing of the juvenile detention center as well as the county detention.

"In Santa Fe county and this is something that I think those of us who've been in the early childhood world I've always known the importance of child care but given the current circumstances and the fact that we desperately need health care workers and first responders to be able to go to work and know their kids are cared for and safe in a good environment it's just becoming more and more clear to everyone in sort of a naked way how important child care is and Connie is a five star center they've put in place a lot of measures to make sure that everybody staff and families and kids will be safe but the good news is there there is child care available for the folks that need it how do they register well they can go to the United ways website which is you W. S. F. C. dot org for United Way Santa Fe county you W. S. F. C. dot org and you can click on Connie or covert nineteen and there's also a slider on the front page that is the issue saying that it's available so you know it should be pretty straightforward and then there's been an easy form that they can fill out and the staff at Connie will be in touch and this is all starting on Monday folks have been working around the clock to open new classrooms there won't be more than ten children in any classroom and they're taking from six weeks old so infants to ten years old so there's a big range and nearly learning center Connie has generally been well it's really been a pre K. for a long time so this is been a big adjustment that the staff there has been really busily making and figuring out how to do hyper sanitation to do drop off and pick up outside so that everybody safe and and really just taking extra precautions the staffer all in scrubs which are washed nightly and E. yeah it's it's it's good news for folks that needed and and you know they really taken every precaution to make sure that everybody can can stay healthy but you know for those of us who are fortunate enough to be able for to work from home I think it's just a relief to know that that some of the health care workers you know if in the unfortunate circumstance any of us need to go to the hospital you want to know that that person's not distracted by worrying about this kid and I know in in some of the healthcare communities they've been struggling with this they've actually been having some of the nurses rotate you know you'll be doing health care home care or childcare on this particular day they have no training in a but they have also have no choice because they have they have they have staff who are out because they're sick and they need staff so they have to have childcare so actually people are not trained in child care doing trucker exactly and you know that might work for a little while back his highly you know child care is something that people are trained in working with kids is a really special skill and you know when the folks at Connie and and there are also still some jobs available but they have been hiring temporary staff in order to expand the capacity and an open additional classrooms and you know people are getting trained up but it's amazing actually how many people do have the training out there who have come forward from the community for some of these temporary jobs so these are professionals are professionals at working with kids just the.
