"Only 173 cases in Burnley. Oh County. It's a only still lot, but it is way down. 173 and Bergoglio County and only 751 cases across the state 22 additional deaths. Here in Santa Fe County. Yesterday. We had 50. Which is down but we're still higher than way higher than we should be for Cabinet. So that was yesterday. The numbers have been steadily declining in New Mexico. Today's numbers are even lower. Today's numbers. Cause I mean, our our reason for some optimism. But we're still expecting A post Christmas and post New Year's spike. New cases today. 628 26 additional death still too high. 628 additional does 161 Burlington County so they went back up. Tony Ana County, which was over 100 yesterday on Lee 48 new cases down in Las Cruces. Which is way down. Here in Santa Fe County. Also, the numbers have dropped substantially. Only 38 new cases today in Santa Fe County. So those are good numbers. Will they bounced back up? Yeah, we're in the yo yo. But as long as they keep you know the floor He's getting lower. It's a good sign. Keep going down. In the total cases today only 628 total cases statewide still too many deaths. 26 additional death. Um Looks like none of those were here in Santa Fe County. There were some young people that's a male in his thirties in in San Juan County. Nothing about underlying condition. It does happen. So.

"Wheel Chance a snow. On Saturday. Keep your fingers crossed. We Desperately need this note. 2020, probably the drys year on record, at least that drives here since the 1942. Ranchers, farmers in the eastern part of the state talking about return to the dust bowl days. That ain't cool. We can't have that. Alright on Wall Street today may have the election of course today. Two Senators. United States enters in Georgia Be interesting to watch. The polls closed at about five o'clock at five o'clock our time. On N. George. It'll be interesting to see how many results come in this evening. If we know anything we know anything by Friday. And then how soon will they be seated? And then, of course, we'll have tons and tons and tons of lawsuit and Allegations of fraud and probably threats to AH, election officials. And Georgia, says state of affairs. Alright on Wall Street today ahead of the election that Dow was up today 168 points down up 1 68 today finished at 30,000. 392 the S and P Today up 26 to 37. 27, the NASDAQ Today of 120 of 120.5. 12,819 all three indices up pretty sharply today. Trading on Wall Street ahead of the special elections actually one regular election in one special election. Today in Georgia. A lot on the line, to say the least. Doctor Winnie Johnson. The bottom in the are so I got this email and you know, Rob, it's not that I don't trust you. But I need to. Ah, trust but verify. So I put in Ah called a Santa Fe County because I You know, I don't want Oh, insinuate anything wrong or make allegations or give give the wrong information. So I said, if I'm wrong Here's what I'm going to say. If I'm wrong, Text me real quickly. And the person said Well, okay. Also, it happens fairly often something Here's the the email I got during the break a little while ago. That this is the current situation in Santa Fe County. Now I have had both of these people on the air Patrick Morella several times, Patrick was the Santa Fe County treasurer. Patrick had been for two terms. Term limited out. He had been the treasure. His deputy was Jennifer Munson, Iris. According to Rob. And according to my sources. This is all true so far. So then Jennifer Munson auras. His deputy. She ran and won. And is now the Santa Fe County Treasure. And she appointed Former boss Patrick Morella. To be the deputy treasure for Santa Fe County. And apparently Patrick had run for State office lost that so this was Plan B to get appointed. And, uh Rob, who send me all this information via email. Said that basically he will run The office is he was term limited out and then when she is term limited out Go back so I guess the question is, Is this true? Several questions? Is this true? We know it's true that he would turn living it out. She ran. She won and then appointed him to be your deputy. And then Secondly, Is there anything wrong with that? Or is a good government. He hired somebody who had at least eight years in the job. Knows all the ins and outs. Those all the information. So it's a good hire. It'll make the Santa Fe County Department or the Santa Fe County treasure more efficient. Is there any county ordinance against this? Is there any state law against this? Is there some kind of ethical problem with this? Is the cronyism. Assume that Varela's in the months and ours are not related, so it's not nepotism. So anyway. An anonymous person sent me this information. I made up the name. Anonymous person sent me this information. So I don't know. Is it true? And if true, is there a problem with it? This is a really smart move. Or is this some kind of? I don't know. Kind of smells bad kind of cronyism. Which there is never cronyism or nepotism or Petrone system of government at all levels in little Old New Mexico. Right? I don't know. I mean, I don't know I have the answer. It seems like anyway, it seems like Patrick landed on his feet. After being eight years of the county treasurer and then Nearly ran for state office didn't do that. Then win and So this was plan B Plan B worked out. I don't not have the don't really even have an opinion. I'm you know, In some ways, it could be a really, really smart move. Good for the county, which is which is good for everybody, right? They have a good County Treasures office with really, really experienced people, or else is just like a man. Once again, the same old same old governance. In New Mexico. Let you to make up your own mind, all right? All right. We'll take a time out and we'll come back and we'll talk with the doctor. "If you need to go down to that building to make an appointment, you will have to go through a covert free screening and have your temperature taken. Before you can come into the building. But Santa Fe County has really, really focused on the services that we provide to our constituents and to our residents, and we have stayed open as much as we can. Especially that building because it is so person focused these these air the one on one, you know when you have a question, or you have an election or taxis and all of that stuff, those those are the offices. You will have questions. Going to the other thing that we've really implemented to avoid you. One on one contact is much of what you need to get done can be done digitally. It could be done on our website at Santa Fe County, and in back of it could be done telephonically. All the numbers to all the departments are listed on our website, and we also have a chat feature online. So when you log on To our website at Santa Fe County and m dot gov. A little chat will pop up and there is an actual person taking care of that chap Monday through Friday from 8 to 5, and we can help you in Who do I need to call or what do I need to do, and we will point you in a direction and there's so much that we can do. Online and via telephone so we can avoid having people come into the building and just really avoid that density of people being together. All right. If you need to get hold of Carmen Lean the heart it is chart. At Santa Fe, County and m dot Gov. You can go to the Counties website and in the search for little bar put in small business grant and it'll come up. You can apply all the application all the dues and don't everything there. Online at Sanofi Counties website. Nice story today in the paper. I know if you saw it, I think it might have been in the new Mexican about our incoming county clerk, Katherine Clark. Um, yes, it was great. I'm looking forward to working with her. I'm looking forward to meeting her and Geraldine did a great job with this historic election. Yeah, that we just went through. So that's quite a way for her to go out. It's definitely she's going out on a high note. But yes, we have a new clerk coming in and a new treasure coming in sweltering Probably to stay healthy. Thank you. Thank you. Take care yourself in the family. All right. 23 minutes after three o'clock Friday afternoon..

"330 in this state ties, a record 29 Santa Fe County, but 1/2 of the 330 in Burnley, L County and the mayor down there, Mayor Tim Keller. We all like Tim got a tough job. But he says we always want to start nice, but with those kind of numbers would I mean if those were the numbers in rear Reba Counting those that the numbers in Espanola would your attitude change? Would you be standing outside? Low saying Go back to your car? You're not welcome until you were a mouse. I think we will. In fact, we have been saying that already. So people do come in without masks who say you haven't and I think I think we have to be very realistic, though about where these numbers are coming from his well and and B isn't information lead as possible. In other words, Assed faras. I know and I may be wrong, but most of the transmission is happening. Under under close quarters. Okay, we know And it's happening. Parties or get together is a gathering places like that. So you're against this. We have to You're you would like to see the restaurants open up. We're a restaurant guy. You run arrest. Do I am way we do run a restaurant. You know we're tourney. Buy this right? We want employees to feel like they can come to work and be in a safe environment. We want our guests to come in and feel like they're going to be in a safe environment. So just me personally as a business person, we are spending and investing quite a bit of money right now. To include outdoor seating. And maybe even, you know, double our capacity because that's what we have to do, because I personally think that this is going to take us well into next year. So if anybody thinks Oh, if we just wear a mask, it will get over with soon. I think we're fooling ourselves. So we need to really look at this with a long term lens and figure out what's going to be best for the greatest number of people in that population for the greatest amount of time. Mayor vest Manolo Javier Sanchez is our guest. Although the scientists say, the doctors say the experts say of 80% of the population were mass, we could be reducing this to a buy a significant amount in six weeks. That's right. I think what we need to concentrate on is exactly that in combination with what I said a little while ago, which is if we were masked while we are together, confined in our backyard in our living rooms or when we're together, I think that's where we need to place the greatest amount of focus. It's not just, you know, hanging around, Ah, Wal Mart or lows or something like that. I think What we don't know is that we're bringing it to our homes to our households to our baptism, parties, graduation parties and those sort of high volume. Places where you are, um, made into contact or put into contact with the virus. You know, it's all about devolution. So stay as far away as you can for the shortest amount of time as you can. I don't want to put words in your mouth Mayor. But are you saying that it comes down to zip codes? And in Santa Fe County, the worst zip code is where I'm sitting right now and where I live, 87507 That's the worship code in this area because And most people say is cultural because it's a poor part of town. It's the Southside part of town. A lot of families living together. A lot of families who get together. Don't wear mask. They hang out together too close, too close contact together. Is. I mean, that's part of the problem in Espanol as well, right? You know, it's part of a problem around the world. I said this from the beginning and I think you and I had also sort of talked about it. This virus is certainly going to effect disproportionately people of color. Going to affect disproportionately people who live in close quarters with one another. There's certainly an education gap about the need to wear a mask or not wear mask. What is this virus even all about? All of those factors truly add up to a situation that is going to continue to separate the has from have not if that's how you want to put it. Goingto continue to separate people of color, gender, a lot of different issues that we really need to look at..

"We have also they also reported six new deaths hundred and thirty nine new cases six new deaths Santa Fe county has five new cases the most well fifty nine new cases in McKinley county and that is the Navajo Nation McKinley county San Juan county twenty five new cases in San Juan county fifteen nine new cases McKinley county only fifteen and burly okay honey lots of parts of the state are doing well and doing exceptionally well with the exceptions of McKinley county San Juan county and Sandoval county and those are mostly tribal cases and six new deaths that's the latest from the state health department all right back up to towns and Christina or tens and Danny Mackey Danny let's let's switch over to you first are you still with us yes Sir running a campaign right now he can't he can't do rallied you can't do day to day this is your first campaign season I would imagine during the pandemic correct and it said trying one and that's exciting I'm like Kurt Christina is a hard worker and so she's been making tons of phone calls finding new ways to make sure she read that we reach out to her voters your text messaging through email blast so everything through technology should change from door to door the old school way to retract knowledge he do you have do you have a team Christina besides Danny do you have family or friends or volunteers to help you with the phone in the tax demand and setting up you know cameras in doing virtual town halls I definitely have a remarkable group of friends and supporters and folks who are reaching out to me all the time to join the campaign to making phone calls we've got lots of folks making calls every day and that has been so helpful to me I also have a group of folks that are really giving me the information that I need I have for seventeen years I've been a conservation plan know a lot about land and water that is my expertise but over the last several months I have been really learning about the other things that affect our district and for you I don't know I don't have all the answers but what I do have is total commitment to getting the answers from the people who are experts and I'm surrounding myself with good people basically kitchen cabinets on behavioral health on early childhood especially as it relates to adverse childhood experiences thank you the other issues that affect our community Danny you're the campaign manager do you tell your candidate focus on your strengths focused on land and water in your experience and you know relate to the people of towns and the surrounding areas on those issues and cultural issues that she has is that she is strong in I mean that's the passion that they bring forward like Christina with her strong background in in land water and our natural resources but she also has the two little girls that gives her the passion such education so she has that that coming and her life experience so when we talk about what you want to run afoul of what you're running for it's that passion that drives on that fire to keep them going and it's exciting to work with somebody like Christina can she shows that passion again you know kind of describe to us real quickly here district forty two district forty two is house county so it goes quest into the house pueblo into top discount of towers and then PR school area yeah it does not include Arroyo Hondo and that's representative of us at the end of a district okay so we weren't running what are you running on what you know what were the top top issues top things on your website when you talk to people and telephone or texting what do you what he talked about absolutely climate resiliency that is that I I think one of the biggest issues and everything that you can connect to that the others will that affect this district or even finding good jobs that pay well that help you support your family affordable housing and I think all of that is related to how we treat the land and our water how we make decisions on planning how do you make investments in our community around that both of those it doesn't think it is a big issue for me but but other things that have come up to like for me that has not been been part of my thinking is is behavioral health detox how that affects our community eight in making sure that the front line workers are trauma informed an asset based trained so that they they're working with use the teachers that are working in our schools doctors you know these these are folks that that are working in vulnerable communities that have trauma and that has an impact on the decisions that they make in their everyday lives right there I will say that you know overall like I'm running on how to uplift our community out of pot list our community out of poverty the culture of tiles is is a complex one from towns pueblo two there's two key resorts in the and the artists colony and the and the old great history of of the artist colony I'm it's it's a very diverse and very diverse in income and aspirations in education right related you know and I think that that policy must reflect that celebrating the tradition of this community you know from the affect that tradition dealership positions of power hello instead the lantern light that brought the artist no we must celebrate all of that but it also needs innovation and we need to think about what what investments might come into the community so that we can provide medical the nineteen shown issue is is showing some of the cracks right all right and it tells you about a couple of I would imagine broadband being one right what that's actually he you know pretty good here we've got gum remarkable folks you know that there's always always room for improvement for everything but but arsenal coop has and the other providers here have have done a pretty good job spreading by broadband throughout the county we need more of it but they've really are somewhere in the crowd where the cracks have been noticing job the tourism based economy Jacqueline yeah the gig economy education getting getting the young people that the technology that they need so that they can use their education online I think that there are cracks in our behavioral health system you know what kind of yeah that kind of event really well at this pandemic is is really exposing that that that the trauma that people are facing and the lack of help that they have we back with Christina or tails and Danny Mackey he is running for New Mexico house of representatives in district forty two and Danny is her campaign manager.

"In Santa Fe county and this is something that I think those of us who've been in the early childhood world I've always known the importance of child care but given the current circumstances and the fact that we desperately need health care workers and first responders to be able to go to work and know their kids are cared for and safe in a good environment it's just becoming more and more clear to everyone in sort of a naked way how important child care is and Connie is a five star center they've put in place a lot of measures to make sure that everybody staff and families and kids will be safe but the good news is there there is child care available for the folks that need it how do they register well they can go to the United ways website which is you W. S. F. C. dot org for United Way Santa Fe county you W. S. F. C. dot org and you can click on Connie or covert nineteen and there's also a slider on the front page that is the issue saying that it's available so you know it should be pretty straightforward and then there's been an easy form that they can fill out and the staff at Connie will be in touch and this is all starting on Monday folks have been working around the clock to open new classrooms there won't be more than ten children in any classroom and they're taking from six weeks old so infants to ten years old so there's a big range and nearly learning center Connie has generally been well it's really been a pre K. for a long time so this is been a big adjustment that the staff there has been really busily making and figuring out how to do hyper sanitation to do drop off and pick up outside so that everybody safe and and really just taking extra precautions the staffer all in scrubs which are washed nightly and E. yeah it's it's it's good news for folks that needed and and you know they really taken every precaution to make sure that everybody can can stay healthy but you know for those of us who are fortunate enough to be able for to work from home I think it's just a relief to know that that some of the health care workers you know if in the unfortunate circumstance any of us need to go to the hospital you want to know that that person's not distracted by worrying about this kid and I know in in some of the healthcare communities they've been struggling with this they've actually been having some of the nurses rotate you know you'll be doing health care home care or childcare on this particular day they have no training in a but they have also have no choice because they have they have they have staff who are out because they're sick and they need staff so they have to have childcare so actually people are not trained in child care doing trucker exactly and you know that might work for a little while back his highly you know child care is something that people are trained in working with kids is a really special skill and you know when the folks at Connie and and there are also still some jobs available but they have been hiring temporary staff in order to expand the capacity and an open additional classrooms and you know people are getting trained up but it's amazing actually how many people do have the training out there who have come forward from the community for some of these temporary jobs so these are professionals are professionals at working with kids just the.

enemies of marketing the beauty of Santa Fe county absolutely is that coming later no no we're that's part of it now that is part of Sanofi no absolution from edge would it to Espanola so we have some beautiful areas I mean it's not very diverse city center it's huge farm lands down and you know down more you already to have salute way all all the way up to Espanola so I and we have what five different up well blows also within our district so it's a big chunk of New Mexico so all of that is included in Santa Fe county do you also help out the elected officials like the assessor like to treasure to also get their messages out about taxes in valuations of property and deadlines and all that do your job it well I'm I'm more of a supportive role okay they're they're they're very very open to talking to the media to getting their own information out and their elected officials and and they get to do that but yes I am there to assist them if if I can commissioners as well absolutely well the sheriff has is on PO cracked he does yes that's one reels okay so he is the only other PO within Santa Fe county besides yourself besides myself okay it what you like working for the county with Scott cotton and we're getting all of that done has been really really exciting now that the cool thing about your job corps Molina is is it if you want is different every day it is different every day and then I'd not only handle handle this kind of promoting it I also take media enquiries and do a lot of research on what's just happening answering questions if someone has a question not just from the media but if there is a constituent outdoor resident that has a question I'm I'm here to answer see hard or chart at Santa Fe NM dot data may county and I and I got got go yeah chart chart easy to remember all right I always ask the candidates for either city council or can the commission of the county commission seems to be more open to having joined medians is it is have you ever heard a valid reason for the city and the county to not really be sharing resources sharing ideas working together on everything is seems to be a lot of them want to tear from turf kind is doctor for fear comes to I think that happens in a lot of city county relationships but we do work with each other you have to work inter governmentally us if we have the the eighties absolutely the city is right in the middle of the county what about the accounting manager and the mayor after their deliberations right have been established they've known each other for years and they continue to stay in contact with each other and and they're very respectful of each other space you work for the city of Albuquerque did they have issues were with working for burly out Kenny with you know with the county commissioners I don't know about directly working with the commissioners but again there's always the some territory that needs to be claim to because a city is in the middle of the county of the county is in the middle of the state so there's all of those relationships that go along with the thought that the a fire department fire station up in north valley is gonna get name for can Sancho's of city council just recently passed that would that would make sense absolutely would probably be on the west side he was with that idea most recently accounts are on the west side right yeah county commissioner back and forth here and there yeah yeah over the over the name of fire station from the that's that's awesome I mean that that that that sounded a probably got something that they would do I mean that that is what you do to pay your respects all right project you're looking for two and twenty twenty what is on your plate and it by the way who's your boss Kenny manager Kenny manager you report to her I do is she ever you guys ever have one on one absolutely Molina bring me in five thought for twenty twenty five ideas you're gonna you're gonna pursue and twenty twenty I take the twenty push ups instead okay good idea but what do you mean what what are the main priority for the county in in this year yeah and in terms of communications we are still working on this communications plan so this was something that we started at the end of last year including Hutton the of the videos that were working on again re branding nine and just tried to lasso all of the different divisions together and and departments together so we all work together as one one Santa Fe county now the old logo was the was the pizza slice corrected now when I have now we have the the the pot the three boxes and there and the church it's not the church this is actually the old county building one of the printer right and in the mountains and in the mount with the river yep that's the new logo that is the new logo on it says Santa Fe county nice N. easy people get enough people getting used to it how do I like the pizza slice well how about this I like that I like it yeah simpler yeah I I yes it's it looks newer looks moderator it is very very easy to read it's easy to understand and I I like it we've got we've got a lot of positive feedback from it there's always someone who's not very happy about things but that that that's neither here nor there it is everybody everywhere so but you know overall people have been very very welcome to it they like the colors they like the feel of it and so yeah I that this is I'm very very proud of what would help you how is your record in terms of responding to every request a pretty good at that I I don't have to you don't have no I don't the all of the efforts go through the county attorney county attorneys on yes for the P. I owe the police department yeah he sends isn't yes yeah yes some you get to keep up on the it was they just had to pay what the reporter like four hundred sixty thousand dollars from the Martinez administration not respond to the reporter pay all their legal fees it did upset me though the trip still Nike the spokesman for the governor's office after they agreed to pay after Michelle along Grissom's office of agreed to pay the foreign sixty thousand dollars in legal fees to the reporter Tripp said well that could be a teacher or other services it's not either or trip first of all it's a requirement its requirements so get risk management to pay it that's an insurance policy this is not coming out of the education budget right am I right you're you're gonna take the fifth I can tell I am going to take the fifth I I can't be kind of pissed me off there I mean so so let's write a law that whoever does not respond whoever's responsible has to pay the damn thing no I I think it is responsible to understand the law and that is number one is that often reporters fall happening government we do have to do that now the other thing is it I've worked on the other side so I worked in the media I am very very responsive to reporters I tried non suggestion just receive all along a media it later and I'm not once it's in the realm we we are very good at our records custodian is very good of responding saying yes we receive this because I get him all day long I'm copied on all this so I do get to see it but it's it's not my responsibility respond but if a reporter calls me just like if a resident would call me I'm going to respond to them and try to get them the information as quickly as possible that's your job now that should be that job that is my job and we're not all under side of things and I understand that frustration as well trying to get some answers and I I think one of the once you stop answering questions then you found guilty yeah and even if you're not in the easier thing is the quick hiring Paul Kennedy as as the attorney but that's not your job all right let's get out here get back to your job it which you are still enjoying I have been on the job how long year now almost a year I was getting was may or may right I was here right after I immediately I ran to you immediately when I got here and we had we had breakfast at the hotel at the cafe del plus a cap that you're right okay that is for well I'm glad you're on let you work in an incentive in enjoying certificate I like it I wish I wish it wasn't so cold trident yeah well it's winter time no it happens every.

"City, Santa Fe county, Santa Fe film office how you been senior outstanding. Thanks for having really outstanding. Good. How come because life is good man. It's nice to be alive. Well could be pretty good. It could be, but it's not be fine. So I'm sitting here in the studio. Looking at union watching golf or doing the one, we just do some commentaries sports commentary, when do golfer, golf commentary in the whisper of that that'd be fantastic. Right. It's gonna break rate to just saying you know who's the best at that right now. No notable gay nota. He'll notice healing killing Eason so good golf channel and on NBC. He does you know, new Mexican as you don't know him Navajo, you know, former Stanford teammate of tiger. Woods. Who's about a tiger out is like tiger will be gone. Tomorrow. Notice still on the course. Folks like that. Like I said life is good. Right. Life sucks. All right, film, film film what he was doing last year here. You brought in a young man, who was going to the film digital department at UNM, and he was on your shadow shadowy, new around, and he was a hoot. He was a hood. He was nervous as heck. And, you know, not going to say a word it's going to sit here quietly, but we join out, and he was great. He was fantastic and here the podcast with him not only with him with his parents happy. They were super happy. He was thrilled. Now he's changed his major. He's going from film and digital media radio. At a young lady here, the other day seventeen years old. Staying in go to school living here for while hopefully for longtime from Afghanistan and English pretty good lives in Kabul, desert attorney, a not in the provinces. So anyway, long story short, Richard. I said, when you wanna be when you grow up, she said, I wanted to be an attorney light, my dad, and I wanna be ready. She goes, you just do that push that turn that anybody can do that did. And I thought she was like really, really shy and not so much place. Once you start once you start Oakland. Everybody wants to do radio. I love radio. I it's funny you say that because as coming over here, I was like on the film and TV guide visit, but I love I'm much more veracious consumer of radio than I am of television. For example, are you? Oh, huge, huge. I consume much Maurilio than I do probably any other informational or or entertainment media. Let that be a lesson kids let that be a lesson. Exactly. There is hope. All right. So that was the last time you hear since then you into airland. How come I was over there part leaf for work, and partly for pleasure? And tells about the work part, the work part is, as many of your listeners know one of our biggest competitors. And one of the biggest global centers of. Production is the UK right right next door. And was it for them to have game thrown if it wasn't for them? We have game of thrones. Exactly George are Martin had his way and be shooting at his house, and drag dragons, Dand, and the UN to learn or, or Alami. No, I wanted to almost at the invitation of the Irish film commission because with this whole Brexit thing, coming up a lot of production may be not as certain that they're going to be in, in the UK as they were before the UK leaves the EU it's going to be a big problem. Long story. Short pinewood. Yeah. I mean, they're not gonna go away, but the vast amount of they do more production. It would be less attractive to big producers. It's less attractive, more problematic less certain, etc. They move on to Hungary or Romania, or Ireland or is going to be part of the UK, right there. It's just right across the Irish Sea in so they're like, okay. What do we do about sound stages? What do we do about incentives? How did you guys create your training program? It's cetera et cetera. That kind of stuff is what they were what they were interested in. So they're looking at the same way, we looked at it fifteen years ago. Yeah, exactly. Exactly getting started getting futures. Clean good industry. It's clean. It's good industry. And we could get a lot more of it. They were kind of the, the afterthought, basically trader. No, no, no, no, no. We don't competition with higher. Trust me, like helping Zona also want some help over there. You know, Colorado. Don't do it, don't tell tell me about the internet. Don't tell them. On there. So anyway, you know, it was very nice and, you know, so I was over there for eight nine days and then had a nice touring my family's from there on my mom's side. And so went to the old family pub in colonie, which is still there were they drank or that they own that they own. And they drink there, too. Yeah. Exactly. Fill open, still open. And you know, it's just a classic tiny Irish neighborhood dive pub, you know. And it was great. It was great. And everywhere you go the thing with pubs and Ireland is they all have these huge collections of shoulder patches from police and fire departments in the United States because the old stereotype so many cops. Right. So everywhere you go there, every single dozens and dozens some cases hundreds of currency. If you go there near a cop, that's it. That's exactly what it is. I'm sure you get a free pine or round for your buddies. Every time I go there. So I made it a point. You know, I went from Dublin all the way over which is on the east coast, all the way to the west coast, and then down south cetera to see how many New Mexico. Yeah. Police departments. Fire departments Danny. Oh yeah, yeah, not a lot. I mean, you know, most of Santa Fe, TD Santa Fe, FD Santa Fe, fire department NCA Santa Fe, PD one New Mexico. Stay, calm takeoff, Albuquerque. PD. I think I saw I saw Roswell plenty which we'll get to later, which is really easy to see because it has a green alien on the floor on its four exactly. And it's got a laser holstered the laser true. Yeah. It's all true. But anyway, so it was great. Great LaTour, little fun, did a little drinking pints had a few Guinness went to the Guinness brewery, which they call the Guinness storehouse. It's the number one tourist attraction Ireland. I'm like, come. I know. But you're thinking how stereotypical how cheese ball can that be? It was amazing. It was amazing. Everyone is a Domus. It was gonna go to Trinity College and go to. Go to the Guinness storehouse. Yeah. Weird coastline with with the big rocks stick out close air. I did that. Yeah. That went to good for full of iron. So that's what they say. That's. The other. Okay. So here's the last thing about Ireland and I don't know if it's because Guinness has part ownership in this. They've got a co marketing thing whatever the to number one selling beers in Ireland, Guinness, of course, which is ubiquitous the other ubiquitous beer is cores light of all things everywhere that you go, right? There's the Guinness more different. And the course. I guess you can make a black town without enough. He considered a traitor. You know, speaking of traitors, you know, they're not gonna high-risk car. Yuck. All right. Did you learn anything that we can use here in terms of film? Yeah. We need an ocean and a few more castles, that would be cool as a wall. Big old Hayden's wall big old, Hanes will exactly. All are they gonna shoot is Cortesi gonna shoot the Scotsman over there? Or is that a New York crime story? I don't know. I know every star in the world as we have a film coming here with, with a lot of stars called the comeback with a most. Holy Larry's plot ever, it is. It is Robert deniro Samuel L Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones. Yep. Deniro need to middle name. I just realized or initial at least it's about a over the hill filmmaker who's gonna make a western so we hires an over the hill, western act, you're hoping he'll die, because he does a lot of money to the mob. I think the mobster is Samuel filmmaker is, is deniro and the over the hill cowboy is, is Tommy Lee hoping he dies any collect the insurance. Great one isn't it? That's crazy. That's like Pulp Fiction meets no country. For old men meets taxi driver, all in three barrels of monkey to Estrada whatever that, that great film that Tommy Lee did with Leon helm, ISM linemen. Yeah. You know, at Tommy Lee, I told I told Tommy Lee that was my favorite favorite of his films looked at me goes, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. It's a great film in leave on fen tastic in it. He's done. I think after Jeff bridges, he's probably done repeat business. New house here. Maybe he has a ranch here. I just don't know about why should I? Yeah. I mean you know, he's Tejano. So he's right next door. Maybe does. I, I don't know. I think when he making. The one where his son was a military guy that they shot of V valley, villa. He was here and brought a bunch of worse. So he could train when he went when he wasn't shooting Charlie's. Theran Tommy Lee, great film, great film, really dark hardcore. All right. So we did talk a little bit about film in that first segment. We'll talk more.

"What's your sales pitch for for young people coming out of high school or college or looking for job, which is good reason worked for Santa Fe county sheriff's department while I think I think Santa Fe and general's a big bonus Sanofi's a great community. Great communities a family. They have good schools, and and great people here. I think the community support slam forcement, and and that in in general is a is a good recruiting tool. And so the sheriff's office is headed in them in a great direction in a positive direction. We want to keep up with technology and and. Be I guess policing in the twenty first century. So the sheriff's office has always been a great law enforcement agency. I think it's gonna it's gonna get better. With my leadership, and the people that that are working there. And so Santa Fe county police to be do you are you recruiting in and signing every day or do you have cycles? Like SAP does were signed now in the inner the kademi depending on when the classes start, right? We're we're we're kind of subject to win the win the basic academy classes start they have to a year two or three years so based on those. But that doesn't mean we don't we don't start you off you get hired. There's an F to your program. He put you on the streets right away. We start your training. We don't necessarily wait for the academy some agencies. Do you want to lock them down? But we we get you. We get you on the job training immediately. So, you know, if you're interested in public safety, you're interested in law enforcement protecting and serving the community of apply to Santa Fe county. We're testing twice twice a month. All right. We got a lot to talk about if you like to speak to the sheriff four two four hundred sixty. I'm sure he'd be happy to.

"And look at some of the opportunities, we have there, and and also Santa Fe county website HR. They have the posting applications and things like one of the things I forgot to ask you about is is are we making any progress when it comes to intoxicated when people drinking and driving have you seen numbers around the holidays through through the Christmas season that that season. Of course, every time we have something like saying Patty's day, I'm sure there's guys are out in patrol as well have you seen any improvement? No, we we have seen. We've actually touch on that, Richard. We've we've reorganized our DWI unit. This is substantiated so stench substantially substantially smaller. Sorry. And we've identified the best hours to identify DWI's to be out on patrol for DWI. So we've moved their schedule around to hopefully, make an impact when we've seen that. Statistically, people are driving an intoxicated and the hours and the and the DS at they do and so hopefully that'll make a bigger impact. But you know, we're out there patrolling if you're drinking and driving you're wrong. So you don't want to run into the office. Once again, you know, you have to cooperate with from from Santa Fe with PD with the suitcase with k with all the agencies because you know, people could be coming down. Right. Heading this way from anywhere or up from anywhere. It's a it's a team effort all all law enforcement surrounding. Does the tech still work where you can text DWI? You can that's that. Actually, I believe is a state program goes to the state, but your best bet is to call the nonemergency line. If you're seeing something right in front of you swerving somebody swerving or that, you think is intoxicated call the nonemergency line. And then we'll we'll put you on the line with the with the dispatcher, and if you're following them, we'll get behind you and stop him. Once again, I I wanna thank you because I was really really hard to see these behind Senate Bill.

"That's a nice service being offered by NBD ex-president. Genesis sarah. Oh, of course, they've been in New Mexico been doing business in New Mexico for over twenty five years. It is a great company NBD expressed at eight fifty drive or NBD express dot com. All right food policy council. We have them in once a month to talk about a wonderful organization. Doing great thing for many people food, scarcity through food, insecurity, farm-to-table issues food testing food preparation food canning food, preservation doing all kinds of really cool things and Pam ROY is here today as from food policy council. Pam good afternoon. Thank you. Richard. Welcome to the new year, right? Yeah. Already. We are. Indeed. All right. Give us give people who might be new to the food policy council. New to my show kind of the overview of what the food policy council is does. Thanks, thanks for Jews, actually, the Santa Fe food policy council was established actually ten years ago. And it is a joint body of folks that you'd like at like, you said working on food issues food security farming, so really focusing on also how our farming and ranching community benefit us here in Santa Fe county and city also beyond so in the state as well, and we focus on the policy issues. So we're not a program. We're actually agencies and organizations governmental in a way that. Yes. So we have folks from we have members on policians litter city staff county staff and a nose at large which are actually are identify. With various sectors in the comedic agriculture economics around food arrest. Our, you know, food do you have a chef chef our coach or co director is Davidson slumbered from Harry's roadhouse, and they're just super and he is a rockstar is really a phenomenal co-chair thirteen members who basically appointed. But as we like to say that everybody in Santa Fe Santa Fe city county can get involved and can come to the meetings. They're open public meetings. And they're usually at the at a kitchen angel kitchen angels on filer and people can get involved by working on committees. Where most of the work is done. Exactly. And that's where the fun fun. You know, there's a lot of we do a lot of really in depth work. And we do we focus on what's happening here today. Sherry Hooper is one of our policy council numbers. She shared food depot. She's executive director. They're they're working with wealth. They've taken Connie Ellum entry school with United way and created a whole kitchen service for after school meal, and it's gonna be some summer meal programs as well to meet the needs of our young people in Santa Fe and their families back up here. So cherry in the food depot are teaming up partnering with United way Santa Fe county at used to be called Connie elementary, which is now United ways Santa Fe county their facility, and they have a kitchen there. And so they're gonna be preparing meals and feeding kids who need a meal with and they're gonna start heating about five hundred and that is at like after school meal parameters partnering with big big brothers makes program. Yeah. Yeah. Exac- or boys and Girls Club. I should say numerous other ones, and then we've been discussing as policy council, what is that broader need and mayor MIR Weber asked how can we end childhood hunger in Santa Fe in the short term. Wouldn't it be in? So. If we look at that bigger issue that is part of not only ending hunger. It also really is about poverty in our community. It's about people who have other needs beyond food, which is housing all kinds of things. Right. So we bring those aspects into the conversation. So back to how relevant what food depot and United way or doing. They're partnering also with Santa Fe public schools. So that we're able to make sure that young people in this in our community children and their families are have adequate meals that they're fresh. They're not just package meals that kind of thing and then starting this out slowly and building on it youth works is also doing some some work like this. They're all coordinating. But we found is when we start talking about how many meals are really probably needed beyond our meal programs in schools. So we are schools are amazing Santa Fe public schools fabulous. And Moriarty was in our county. As well. And Edgewood in those areas, they're also there they also have screwed programs in Stanley Stanley. Exactly exactly right down the road and in their schools. So they all serve school breakfast rose to the most of them do but Samuel public schools works on school breakfast. Of course lunch. We have an after school snack program. But we're fine is young people are going home sometimes needing a little extra. And so that extra after school meal or an evening meal are also relevant in this community when it comes to hunger in our community, and so the work in Santa Fe few policies. So you have that then you also have like you said kitchen angels on our board as well. Feeding Santa Fe as well kitchen. Angels really more focused on what's happening. People who cannot access a meal, but are homebound and might you know, might be able to get back out in community and be able to do more on their own. But right now need that. And they're just all those permits are just really really awesome. Well, we also focus on those. How do we actually we do through policy as much as we can and programmatic programs that how do we shift that from need to an is much knee? But people have what they need, right. Which is adequate food. You know, adequate ability to buy food and housing that is really really helps them out and we want everybody lifted in this community. And so that we look at the big picture. And then we're agriculture which about we'll agriculture food. And agriculture a lot of times, we don't put those words together. But it is both. And right. Our food comes from our agriculture sector, and we have such a vibrant agricultural community. And we certainly see it our Sanofi farmers market. They too are part of the Fe. Farmers market institute has a Chris Huston picking their executive director is on. On our on our counsel as well. And they make that link between. Grows was grown and where people can get and then beyond that. So this is where we work on policy work at the local level, and then the state and federal level all of us are focused on where all those tied together. So. I'm gonna bring the example because now our legislatures just started within this is the place to take a break. Oh break and we'll come back, and we'll talk about things like food and farm day. We'll talk about farmers market. We'll talk about legislation you brought in like I dunno. I page here has like ten bills that that have to do directly. And this is why we're hoping that Senator list of fannies could join us today because some of these bills are hers, and of course, she lives down kind of in farm country within the county and she lives kind of out in the boonies. We'll be back with Pam ROY from these food policy council. It.
