"Enjoying it? For many years we have Some spaghetti squash growing in three or four my speak, um, sort of egg shaped and but they're in their Pio yellow color right now. When do we know? When when do we witnessed? How do we tell with it's time to pick them? Okay. The mainly they are a late fall. Ah, product for you. No vegetable. And a lot of people pick up too soon, But even if they do, they still are spaghetti. I my favorite way to do that is as the powdery mildew starts taking the line away that that is the time to pick them. And they last, you know up to four months off the line, so there's no big rush of harvest harvest to a table kind of thing like you do with less zucchini or something like that. Okay, That sounds like my kind of plant have our time with it. Okay, Coach. Thank you. Thank you very much Walter for the call. And thanks for listening because I really appreciate all my listening audience. Okay, everybody, We do have some lines left open, but we only have about 10 minutes. So if you want to jump in, now is the time. 1415 then ate away 5600 before I was, you know, got into tomatoes. I was talking about strawberries. And the thing with strawberries is they are, let's say a three year proposition, so if you divide your bed into three separate areas And you could do this, You know, like you have mint one pot or two pots or three pots or something like that. And you put your strawberries in the ground from you know the bare roof strawberries that you can get in from the most nurseries. That'll be in January, February and you make your bed and put a lot of good stuff in it. Uday like chicken manure, for that reason, because it does is a slow kind of thing, along with the alfalfa pellets. And that would be the first year so map out of third of the area where you want to eventually have strawberries. And so they'll produce strawberries. Pretty so you know, a little bit. And then eventually They will start putting out runners and things like that. And what you do is you take those runners and put him into another bed. That will be the following year. So you have one year in this one bed and then the second year will be in this one bed in that second years. When you'll get the maximum production and in the third year it will start to decline of the various will get smaller. So if you're doing this on 1/3 3rd 3rd you will always have. You know a bumper crop on the second and the third year and it'll start to decline. After that. So many people puts robbers out. Think they're a permanent plan in their bed, and there Really not. And if you watch it down in the strawberry fields in Santa Cruz and all his other areas, you're going to see where they do that Almost every year. They put the new plant in the fall or whenever Well, probably in January. February, Yeah, early late fall, and they will do that, and they will have all that good stuff going for them. So the strawberries if you do that, You will always have prime strawberries all the time and one of my favorites, and I did this. When I had the nursery. I would put strawberries and February January February You know, hanging basket. It was really fun. One of those moss basket. You know how to make those And they're beautiful and the sort of nice because then I would have hung it up on my ports right outside the kitchen. So if I wanted strawberries on my cereal in the morning, I just go out and harvest a few and throw him into my Nothing. Of course it was all organic, so I didn't have to do that. However, I would also remake that must basket Asian every fall from the little runners that wood coming out of the parent plan, So it was really a very fun thing to do. So you might want to just think about how to do that. With Strummer's I get some also. Ah, question this last week. What I don't have a call. I don't have. Ah, Who are they? Okay, let's go to Sue and Elsa. Brandi. Hi. There soon. High above God is good to hear your voice on the phone. Okay, there a long time Since I talked to you, I have Ah, Eureka limn tree and have a wine barrel. He's been in there 14 years. Yeah, I understand that. And I'm wondering if I could take it out and refurbish the soil and everything like with chicken manure like you could do is plant and put it back in. There are it's too late is no. August. You're OK doing I would do it right now. Yeah. I think you'll be fine. Today. Three o'clock would be OK. So I can put like chicken manure and music, same soil or put new soil or Well, what I would do is the soil that's in the container. You know, I would be very careful because you know you gotta worry about what its root bound. I'm sure s. So you take it out. You cut the roots, you know, Take that circle off. On Ben. Aah, Uh, cut those off and then put it back into new soil. Now the old soil can be resuscitated by putting chicken manure and all the other good stuff for planting mix and that would work. So do that and mix it all up and then put it back in the container. Okay, then do do to him the roofs off a little bit. Oh, yeah, because it's about to get it out 14 years. I think it's the last live show. We went to back out in the Out there in the surrender or somewhere that you had about 14 years ago. Yeah, no plan. Okay. Okay. Good to hear for you. And what you're doing will take care. Well, so far so good. You got it. Okay. I think I have another call. Who is it? Okay. John is in San Jose. Hi there, John. Hi, Bobby. Yeah, I've got a pineapple guava and I've had it maybe three years, and it's now for the first time giving starting the show fruit. I don't want to lose that fruit. What kind of feeding and watering schedules should such a plant? I know their unusual should they get Okay. They're also John, A very hearty plant. So you're in San Francisco or San Jose. Let me think about that a little bit right now. I would give it. Yeah. Liquid fish emotion. Okay, but only because that will only do that has strength on the fish in motion on DA. I would water maybe twice a week. Okay, That's what I've been doing. So, um, also again, azalea that's dying, and I never pruned it in that cause it to die. How old is it? Jon? Um, about a year? Oh, no, it shouldn't be dying witness dying. That means that the water either the water is not getting into the root system over the root ball is just on the ground. ER isn't in the ground, but it is very slight Hill, and I think that's why the water's not getting down there. Yeah. Okay, so I would that I would cultivate around it before you water. So that the water will go into the plant roots rather than that, And I think the watering problem is what you got. Yeah, I think so. So just kind of like, make almost a moat like saying and use that here's another thing you could do is dig a hole on the up side of the hill for the watering. And you could dig that down next to the root system and the water go into that and eventually absorbed into the root system of the azalea, and I think you'll be home free and clear. They dig a hole on the upside to water down into the root. OK, never heard of that. But okay, Well, now you have. Yeah, Right. Okay. Thank you very much. Bob. John. Thanks So much for listening All of these years. You've been Okay, let's go to Mickey and Nevada..

Coronavirus update: Mexico
"Cove in 19 death tolls of Spain and France to join the U. S. Brazil the UK in Italy in the top five deadly isnot breaks The U. The day after Mexico overtook the cove a death toll of France to join the five countries in the world. With the heaviest losses to the pandemic. President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador addressed the nation. To blame the media. Hey, sis In the end venues in Mexico, Yes. He said. Stay home gave thee in Gaza Gate up in Gaza for Colombia and Mexico is Corona virus Response coordinator Dr Lopez got became an overnight celebrity by hosting our long press conferences each evening in an unscripted and easy to follow style that inspired trust and one public approval. But the strategy he leads has been a mixed bag. In a country where roughly half of the population lives in poverty. The government did not provide direct economic stimulus checks to tide over citizens unable to work. Many self employed vendors and small business owners had little choice but to try to make ends meet. Mexican leaders also opted for an extremely limited testing policy. Mexico has one of the world's lowest per capita testing rates and the highest rate of positive cases per test. One out of every two people tested for the virus in Mexico has a result showing they are infected, not even report it moment on any task force leader. Lopez got ill has repeatedly rejected calls to increase testing, saying the sentinel method of monitoring samples of symptomatic populations. You have to perform illness in order to be believed His results took more than 30 days to come back. They were positive. Despite minimal testing rates. Mexico has a formidable accumulated backlog. Mexico has repeatedly blown past official predictions regarding the outbreaks. Peak response later, Dr Lopez got till now says the first wave is likely to end sometime in October. Task force members have publicly expressed hope in developing herd immunity while building up hospital capacity to handle caseloads. The United Kingdom initially floated the idea of a herd immunity approach before medical experts pointed out that massive preventable loss of life the strategy would entail. Currently, the UK ranks only behind the U. S. And Brazil and covert deaths. The broad and vocal medical consensus to debunk heart immunity has been lacking in Mexico. And progressive voices that tenaciously questioned. California reverses course from reopening amid virus surge
"So today we're dealing with new restrictions. California Governor Gavin Newsom announcing his implementing new state order orders to slow the surge in cover 19 cases across the state caper case. Tim Lance has the details. The governor says there are now 19 counties being more closely monitored by the state where Corona virus is flaring up. Sacramento is one of the 19 so he's ordering that select businesses end indoor operations in restaurants, wineries and tasting rooms. Movie theaters, Family entertainment, broadly defined by guidelines that we had previously put out zoos, museums and card rooms. In addition, he's recommending the county's cancel public Fourth of July weekend events. Now he's not closing state beaches. But we are modifying our parking facility operations in closing them to traffic throughout the Southern California region, as well as parts of Monterey County, Santa Cruz in through the Bay Area and up along the north Coast, Although up to cinema just go to kfbk dot com to see A list of 19 counties and watch the full briefing by the governor. Rob Garnet One More Wave
"Welcome back to the coastal. Athlete. Program I'm your host. Shep today. We are joined by very special guests. We are joined by the record surf operations a US Navy veteran. Therapy advocate, a waterman, a good friend of Joe and be good friend of mine, because we're all part of the one more way, family, Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome to the show Rob Garnett Rob. How're you doing? Then fantastic thanks for having me am. Champ and Danny Danny met you before but SHEP. We've talked a couple of times on the phone, so it's cool to be some of the zoom. At least on Zoom. Danny is our producer, and so he's going to be helping out doing the editing and mixing the episode down and things like that Joe is going to be joining the podcast just a minute. He was transitioning from from pork. Chop actually up to his apartment. He's coming back doing some surf therapy sessions. My guess would be out of Pendleton or something like that. As usual on Wednesdays, Joe is on the road living the mission so rob. Before. We get too deep into asking you. Questions I just have to ask when it came time to transition out of your career in the military, did you? When did you know that you wanted to get into surf therapies specifically? And when did you know that like this was going to be a special moment? I. Think when I was so I retired from the navy and two thousand fifteen and so that was kind of win Wave, actually becoming nonprofit, and so I had a couple of buddies Alex and Kyle. We can talk about later. That were trying to get going. They've been doing it kind of. guerrilla-style for before getting official, and so I kind of knew about it before retiring. And then it kind of kicked off. For ME I. I was volunteering here and there with more ways. I had some other gigs so right when I retired I started doing government contracting jobs I did that for a couple years before spending a lot more time volunteering than later coming on. As employees. So, Joe I just ask some general questions. Trying to do is cut those questions and stuff at the back, so feel free to take the lead, and you have the floor sounds it sounds like you talked a bit about something about diving for the navy and then sports. Now we're talking about why I came the navy. Sorry to repeat it, but. I came in hoping to be Navy diver. I've been a commercial diver for about six months in Galveston. Texas after drop Nettie. Collagen thought that'd be a good transition and When I tried to join the navy, they said the Dow closed and that they dove at butts that I should go try that. Sounds like a good idea and so. They had me take a job. That would allow me to go to buds. became a parachute rigger, so I went to school i. By Mos got my. Parachute rigger on. And then off to buds I, not really no one else doing. My parents were hippies so military people. No one wants to be joined. The Navy so really did not get into. So I imagine was a little bit of a surprise to show to buds. Learn what that school was or. Just just the suffer faster not quite ready for nicely. I imagine imagine that's quite interesting. SUFFER FEST! I also can imagine that doing the work that you did. Know you and I kind of a little bit of your background. I've imagine that really helps. Set you up for the mission at one more wave and getting on top of things and getting things moving. You maybe talk a little bit about that. Of maybe some things you learn from the Navy that you apply now at one more. Share just. Learned a lot towards the last couple of years at Miami my time in the service. How can help people in much really from? I've been injured several times while on active duty at spent time at the. At Naiko which I know, you're not talking about for jokes. The National Intrepid Center of Excellence Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic says Maryland runs, and so I started my treatment probably. This is probably two thousand ten zero five years before I retired, and so I have a lot of time to spend time with other folks that had had you know whether it was PGA s or All the kind of things that were happening to people are not super physical, but burying paxil sleep issues, and so I got exposed to lots of different therapies, and I just knew man. This is can't wait to spend more time doing this. And, so I was really excited because I learned all these things in the navy, but how can help other people at learned a lot about the va have across his work for compensation took care people how some days are better than others. Some states are Oracle, and and what? I didn't realize. Your percentage rate affects how you get treated to I was treated well, but I'm on a different ratings on people's. It's tough so I definitely learned a lot, you know. Early on about how to help other people do this and it really as you've seen Joe out. Watch people's faces. When you get to give him some equipment whether it's a board or a boogie board or people that have had nothing. He's got a wet suit like our friends in. Santa Cruz just the amazing transformation that happens. Not only from equipment, but from the community that step we all share the Melcher that we love. Not Picking up cigarette, butts or cleaning off the flight deck, but you know going out von and be talking a little trash, each other encouraging each other and just share. That shared experiences is powerful so. Yeah I definitely can attest that shared experience than to be fair. No ship Naidoo usually pick up cigarette butts, but easily on the beach and they drive us nuts, so that's why. It's quite funny. Were you a surfer before you've got out of the military and got with one more way? Has. Started at middle, school on off and then did it alter the teens long morning. And then took several years off and then kind of into it later on, so yes. We're always at the beaches, kids. We're always bodysurfing. Trying to collect fins like my friend Joe Against. Debbie me and my fin collecting hoarding abilities. That I have for quite

"Slash ulta you're tuned into keeping up with the coronavirus here on KCSE Santa Cruz we are just talking about microbiome and we had a question texted and and it says I've been cooking a lot with vegetables and also making a ton of smoothies with all sorts of different fruits and vegetables does that still support my microbiome if it's blended yes absolutely smoothies are a good way to get those extra vegetables an instant snake I meant to you know because sometimes it can be hard to get lots and lots of vegetables and a meal so blended that is there any way to consume vegetables that won't support your microbiome you can click is there any way that it's going to be harmful no no I may not land areas froze and I just want them there yeah okay cool if you do have further questions about this our phone number is eight three one four five nine four zero three six I think this is the point in the program were gonna transition and talk a little bit about the way that we are adjusting to the pandemic and we're kind of just talking about how it doesn't seem like anybody's really there was maybe an initial I don't know I think people took it a little bit seriously in the beginning yeah definitely at the store people are wearing masks I mean that's kind of my gauge I don't know about you I did see somebody walk into the store today without a mask and I went up to my manager and said I don't know if this is so much a problem as entertaining that somebody actually for concrete now because how could you forget it everybody else is going on and my manager did ask that person to put on a mask yes so we do supply them at the at the front of the store whoever's watching the door gets to him amount of people to forget and there is a customer where I work who refuses to bring mine every time well just takes one of ours while juicing yeah there's a lot of reasonable and can we just also say that if you are a person who wears a disposable mask can you please not thrown on the floor on the floor outside inside in a forest in a parking lot what is this about we could there are so many Instagram accounts already of just people's pictures of Michael loves and masks laying around everywhere the newest form of letter that's not cool we already have to use something extra please three so people are adjusting but at the same time hi there at the same time there it seems like there's a bit of push back right now like you were just on west cliff and there are a ton of people who seem like they're from out of town definitely and not definitely lots of people not wearing masks in groups of more than five six seven eight people which there isn't really you know any limit on not necessarily other than ten now and people seem to be completely ignoring the beach closure well I guess it was after five yeah we were I mean they were running right at five but a doubt on his people who had downloaded their app yeah I mean five seconds ago right yeah I was just kind of parked and a little bit worrisome though I will say that it does I was unable to get data from a month ago today which is what I was attempting to deal but I do think it was probably about a month ago today that we were exposed and that sounds about right to me and at that time I think there were about a hundred and fourteen cases in Santa Cruz County and today there are a hundred and eighty six or there have been a total of a hundred and eighty six but a hundred and twenty eight of those are not recovered so that leaves fifty eight people in the county known in the county with co bed which is significantly lower than I thought we might be up by now so it does seem like things are working yeah and I think back to them microbiome thing just for a second be interesting to see how different counties are doing based on like both health trends and stuff like that things like hell is not doing so hot and help trans air quality all the things that affect our health and they pretend to be the healthiest so who knows but yeah I heard their lockdown is continuing I think it's and extended until July maybe further which is quite honestly what I anticipated might happen here and I'm kind of surprised because now we're in like the later stages of phase two yeah there's a lot of rock this evening or stores are re opening businesses can do curbside pickup even if their retail of any variety of store not just restaurants and things and then the U. C. announced kind of misleading lane I'm gonna read you a little bit of an article about what might happen for you see schools in the fall to the article is from as for mercury news and it is called coronavirus university of California campuses will open in the fall in the politician no publicado says and I was going to review a few blurbs from that so Janet Napolitano announced at the university of California the every campus will be open in offering instruction this fall despite the corona virus outbreak that has shuttered most campus activity across the state and this is really misleading there's a lot there's a lot of language that doesn't quite make sense because it's not not exactly what's happening so it goes on to say the question will be how much of that instruction is in person versus how much is done remotely in Nepal Tana added during remarks to the UC board of regents Nepal China indicated that each UC campus will be required to meet system wide thresholds for covert nineteen testing contact tracing and isolation before being allowed to open once the standards are met campuses can consider whether to maintain fully remote instruction in the fall or return some portion of their students to campus and a decision is expected in the middle of June and quite frankly eyes as an employee of the university aside from a volunteer at KCSE this has been very vague and there has been a lot of talk about whether waiting this length of time is simply to get students to continue to roll in the fall when they might not otherwise if they're told that they cannot come back to campus because a lot of students would consider taking a leave of absence so they don't have to pay certain fees I have already heard that their their campus fees associated with students tuition and fees and this quarter students have had to pay them even though they're not on campus well he doesn't really seem fair however for the summer and anticipated for the fall that will not be the case hi so long as students are not on campus again in the fall hello Hey yeah I don't know exactly what's going to happen as as an instructor I have been asked whether or not my class needs to meet in person or not and half of it can be done remotely in the other half absolutely and can not because it's teaching radio it's being here in the studio and teaching someone to operate the board and you can't really do that from six feet apart nor can you do that remotely you can't we can program remotely we've done an incredible job getting a lot of our programs online this quarter so that students can create radio from wherever their students on the east coast there's a student in Texas there's people everywhere making radio for KCSE remotely but that's not really the analog way of doing things and that's what we prefer to do around here so I think they are taking into consideration how they might best serve students and whether meeting in person is the way to do that while factoring in safety so can't teach welding over soon he definitely cannot teach something overseas so are we gonna be wearing masks and gloves from much longer are we just gonna wear them every flu season now what's what's the vibe I think that this is gonna be you know part of the routine for awhile at least a lot of countries do that already and I think that we've gotten pretty used to to using our PP here whatever you call it yes P. A. personal protective equipment so I think it could be a part of the normal free flu season from now on so a lot of gloves and masks to where I stopped wearing gloves at American I had a an angry customer this week but my view is that as long as you wash your hands and use sanitizer it's just as effective if not more than using the gloves which you'll have to change every five seconds anyway especially if you're texting all sexting going around touching everything in the store yep in the world this evening all right we have to get out of here we have one last Sunday we have a lot of people texting and right now we appreciate your tax if you have any final notes as we and this show please submit them at three one.

"Santa Cruz it is our fifth week of this program schedule so we've been running this program for five weeks now brought you a merry out of topics to the airwaves last week we talked a lot about love in the age of code red and I think we wanna just recap that really quickly and maybe expand on some things that we've noticed over the last week what's what's been going on I had kind of it a new experience at work this week earlier I was working and I was doing door duty which consists of counting people out of the store it's really really difficult and a customer came up to me and said Hey I just wanna tell you I think you're really pretty and it took me by surprise of course because I am wearing a mask that covers two thirds of my face very good point and I just stared at him and kind of laughed and said how do you know he it's a great question but at the same time if you well we've been talking about this you can generally tell when somebody's attractive even when they're wearing masks so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility but maybe not I had an experience where somebody hit me up on a dating up after a long time and was like Hey I was feeling really lonely and came across one of your playlists through your profile and it made me feel better and that was the I mean a big ego boost as a DJ but then separately a really cool way to connect with somebody in a way that I wasn't really expecting to because those aren't necessarily ops that it takes to press hastily contrary to one of our listeners last week who wrote in and said that she is an experienced online dater and she at seventy two seventy three somewhere in there has somebody who's using it now comes and visits in her yard and she found the love of it made my heart sink a little bit and I was super slow I don't think that'll ever be that confident on a dating app to be able to even foster a relationship but literal arm's length link reaching out my arm as you can see it they are just exploring different ways that people are connecting still and then we had one other experience when we're on west cliff yes and we were we were posts jog just kind of dancing out the the feels and somebody kind of laughed at us and when when you saw stance saying and asked if we that was our work out and we can kind of laughed and said no and he disappeared for a little bit and as we're walking back to our card to leave he just came up and was like Hey wanna wanna hang out which is something that's not technically acceptable right now yeah you can't really hang out with people in this moment especially not strangers and just the details of that is totally in as are undefined so unless you know that you're gonna be outside on somebody's patio from six feet apart or you know there's just a lot more digging that you kind of have to do I feel like somebody also this week asked me if I was willing to do a high five yeah I've been getting a lot of like a hug requests or yeah hi five requests some of which have turned down because I'm not gonna yeah I remember you turned one down the other yeah the somebody asked me do you do you do hugs right now and I said I'm kind of hugging one person and she's across the studio for you right now sorry so I'm trying to actually limit my contact because I do come into contact with a lot of other people through work in ways that I try to be conscientious of but it's hard but love in the age of covered if you have any stories you can text us eight three one four five nine four zero three six would love to know how your how you're coping with this moment what is making you feel less lonely and less isolated or if you have any good coronavirus pick up lines we would also love to hear those because we're trying to understand how people are flirting through this I mean it's been two months essentially flirting with her face covered it sounds ridiculous but it's that's where I'm at right now yep and potentially will be if former how long do you think I don't know but I'm not really ready to accept that yeah somebody said that to me yesterday we're gonna be doing this for a really long time did they specify how long they thought he thought that it was going to be for an hour until fall at least yeah and I just can't imagine I mean I've complained about this before on it but both of us have to wear masks for eight plus hours a day at work and it's funny when a customer will come in and say I can't wait to get this thing often we we I mean we have like panic attacks every time we go in for the first time and we're not used to wearing it or not it's not restrict your airflow it's it's caused a lot of anxiety for me just because I can't breathe and then I start hyperventilating which is not fun doesn't make you any less fearful that you could be second moment either but yeah we are healthy so we're grateful yeah if you if you have any covert related stories CPAS cheating or otherwise eight three one four five nine four zero three six is the number it to hit us up on and we're gonna talk a little bit we're gonna have it do a hard pivot right now toward thinking about things that you can be doing especially since we think we're not gonna be able to be in contact with people up for the foreseeable future I mean I I'm kind of under the impression that it's going to be through the end of this year that we will at least be wearing masks if not social distance energy rules fresher throughout the rest of the not that will be a shelter in place for that length of time I mean we're already in phase two the calling it for her re opening certain businesses but I anticipate that it's going to happen awhile longer I am under the impression that most of the UC's and most universities are going to be online for the fall as well that's what I heard and in schools too mmhm so that is another indication for me that this is going to continue so while you're biting your time we're gonna get into a little chat about farming here in a second or gardening for those of us who aren't dealing with lots of acres we have a phone call on the line so we're going to play a.

Well we'd like to eat food all the time but if rates go to Santa Cruz restaurants eat food and then talk about it and share experience with you. Have you seen any new restaurants? Ernie old restaurants so I did hear on the Grapevine And it was from a friend. We both who lives on the wayside. She said Splash on. The warriors changed hands. She says someone. The new owner is someone who owns some other restaurants on the wolf and she was a little her. I guess the scoop on the west side. She's a little miffed because she has a gift certificate by on the wolf and she wasn't sure if they will honor us. Oh so a splash in the work. But now it's still special work but with somebody else I think so. I don't know if it's going to change names or if it's closed I don't know was it like used to be Gildas or not. I think Gildas is still there And I don't remember which ones so choose on the wolf Tuesday night. You can pack for free. I did not know that yes well. It's like locals night. So a lot of places love restaurants on the wolf. Have you know a a you know? Four appetite for meals for only fifteen dollars thing. I mean for choices for fifty dollars because it's repacking so they call that locals night. Okay maybe we should hit. We talk about all the restaurants who just GONNA end. That will be three hundred pounds as going to take US fifty years full. Have four hundred podcasts. Under our belt if we can fit out the new belt what about you. Have you been any sort of close rope? No but I did hear that. Whale city bakery went for sale at the end of February. Is that the one Davenport at is the one. I love that place. I love sitting out there on highway. One just watching things go by and then after having some breakfast stumbling across the street to the beaches and bringing the dogs down there and running around a little bit. I love that place. I've been there before. Also in there were like a triathlon. And they up there they turn around at a jail in Davenport right and then come right back down pass wheel city bakery so that's always a fun morning to go up there and it's a nice dry from Santa Claus at ten miles. Yeah it is beautiful well. I hope that they sell it for what they want. And that the new owners keep everything that everyone loves. So too yeah. They have great baked goods. Great coffee good breakfasts and you see a lot of locals and tourists there too right. I have been there before when a bus of thirty five. Three people land there and not my FAV- better hope you've ordered when they arrive so I'm exertion. We call sort of stepping out of staying in so stepping out is when we go to restaurant without the other person and staying in is when we do a little food experimented home. So did you step out or experimented so I've stepped out but I can't remember where I went to obviously wasn't this place. And then excuse me no experiments so latest stat and talk about what we did well. It was Brenner Week so we wanted to go to another place that had burs right so I chose. Mel had said which one she didn't want to go to and so I chose a couple of choices all that had to burgers now. I didn't do any research so I found this one could Abani Saleh's and it's the old BACCI cells so it's INSA. Now St it down by on the WAY TO COSTCO. So it's in that whole industrial area and botchy cells as always have been a couple of years ago and Ukulele Club meets there and I think it's the oldest restaurant in Santa Chris. Oh Wow so. We had two choices. I'm like hey let's go there and we generally tend to eat early. 'cause now goes to sleep. She gets up really only so So we we show up and there's no sign that says Bonnie nowhere it was like what's the address so we looked at the address and it was their address on bodies and this three bungie signs like yeah I call the cell. Signs of the bodies is nothing. That's his money so we know so. It's really wages sort of it's an. Oh It's behind an old house and sort of behind underneath an old house. Saleh right so you walk in and is the first by a couple of people at the Bob this low Bat Tanda. Maybe that was a kitchen but not sure right and then you walk through and in the bedroom which is where the Ukulele club me and using that where they used to have the botchy courts they had the bungee cords. And I think I've been to a show there and you said you'd been to a show on the front. It was just in the front part. Yeah so we walk in the back in these another little bond is about tinder and there's someone on stage singing. There's a little band of his one woman tapped up saying yeah right and the music and these people sort of sitting around and they all look like they're in the sixty And it looks like we've gone into a private club and I don't think anybody had food on the table there. There was no food. People were drinking and people had to pay run but it felt like there was a private club. We got into the knitting club. No-one at tap dancing club and it was very it was like this weighed five so we serve. No one acknowledged us. Yeah so we're like okay. We're getting this vibe. No one had food. We names kitchen. We didn't see menu. Yeah we did as my starting. Maybe we used to go the other room for so we go into the other room and the batting tours in the front room is now in the background. But she's looking back to the front so we don't even see the same people sitting at the table. No sort of kitchen or maybe that was a kitchen. There's a little chalkboard that says Burger weaken. Has the two boobs listed and her hands are making a sign the size of a cell phone right now no. It's a tiny little sign. Maybe to cell phones put together. Tiny little sign in the vibe is so bizarre. We just really bizarre bizarre. We just like left. We were there the day drinkers. And we're interrupting the whole flow of the tap dancing. Not Welcome there so I think if someone come over and said Hey. Can we get you anything or a week? I would have stayed and watch those right but it was just as we'd five. Yeah and you know no sign so we were out of there and I'm curious if anybody knows why they advertise as Rabbani. When there's no sign anywhere saying Rabbani or anything like that or if anyone has gone a week oh gone to eat it all. Yeah just really drop us a line at Santa Cruz and kitchen at gmail.com. Yeah we would love to hear from you. Live to uncover the mystery. Yes but the whole thing was weird and win not spring chickens are selves. Yeah this is sort of a bizarre vibe. So okay wait do we go. Yeah so we we left and nobody stopped. Oh wait help you Yeah it was bizarre so we thought about it and we're like we WANNA play. That has more than two burgers and it's Berg Week. So where do we end up Mel Burger? They'll be gone vision. Inveigh lots of bogus burgers and pizza and salads but they probably have fifteen twenty Bogan. Oh man they have a giant menu hint menu drop menu. It's probably what nine or ten feet tall. Yeah Oh more I think six or eight P Y so it's you walk in. Well it depends on where you walk in what they call. The front is what is called the side But then three entrances. They have to Baz actually so they had one made by. So where we sit behind you so you can sit at the bowery. You can sit at the tables. It's very much a you order at the front. Sit Down they bring you food and you leave what I love is when instead of giving you a number. They gave me a little card. It has I had Johnny Cash David Bowie. Oh Nice cash the little prisoner number on the Front. I think it was his mugshot. And the side view. David Bowie didn't have no shot though. No no no. I think it was actually David Bowie. So it's very It's you know you wait. You Order you sit down. They bring you your food. I mean if you want a drink order the by bringing you food they did have a quote Unquote Special Burke Burger Week. But it wasn't a special burger on the menu all the time which was a Burgh between two donuts. Yuck I know the guy in front of US order. That did he yeah. Ooh I wish we would've seen gone by. And then you could order side and you got Sweep Janet fries and the coleslaw choice at the fries will co flow and the bogus. Were around ten or eleven dollars each one and we didn't I didn't get anything to drain. Did You Burger? Did you have oh? I had the the Salmon Book. I think they call it. The Pink Berga Salmon is paint so I had the Pink Program. Hit the coastal. So the Burger was it a skim sound. You know they go to Steinle source that. I'm sure it is but it's basically just a frozen burger. They took out of the freezer. And they shove it on the grill and then they put it in the so. It wasn't like Oh my God. This is a great deals like a fresh salmon. No no it wasn't. I was a Salmon Burger. And you know what is really the only way you can have that many things on a main issue yeah is do frozen durenberger week especially during buckling but feeling this is not because of Boga Week that were there. We bumped into someone. We knew I'd actually friends of yours. I see them all the time when you see them and so they will between going through you know they were going to something of the university and they are on the way to something downtown so they stopped for a burger and it feels like they kind of place where people stop in or they bring the kids or the college students of the age of twenty one thing right or having a pizza. It's right on the corner of Bay mission having a pizza having a solid. It's definitely It say casual kind of place. It's got the concrete floors. It's got the black wall a lot of black in there black in there and steal seats right. Salem Wood Sates Over a pacing was fine and the Burger King quite fast so I knew what I had. What did you have? I had to land slider. Oh yeah they're a little lamb little three inch burgers on a COUPLA bonds and a couple of bites. They're done. They were delicious again. Caramelized onion white cheese Just slimy and tasty and plate worthy platelet worthy okay and then I had a couple of your fries and they would delay. Were good because I've had sweet potato fries before on the site may not there but I did you serve. How can you be normal fries? You can miss up normal rising up sweet potato fries so yeah me if I ever end up in a place like that because I've never got bad. I've never seen sweep dated Friday. I didn't love some mine was like Tampax and yours was. I don't even remember. Probably twelve bucks so we didn't get any dessert. I don't know if they even had deserted sparkling water. Oh yeah that's right and I just had the regular water from the tap or whatever it is So what was this for you The Burger was a plate liquor. I am dreaming about that. Really Lamb sliders. Yes for since we went there. Wow isn't a shower just the other day thing it now. Where should I go to lunch today? I The landslide irs. So I'd enemy for like years ago and they're memorable then so I'll definitely go back and they have..
