"Island's hard it's really it. I had to quit. Because i had a shoulder injury in shoulder. Your posture gets really intense. Hard on the body. You can pick up the cello right really. Yeah but at least you have to do this. You don't feel great anyway. I haven't done it. I'm making it up. Yeah anyway we're here with my kayla. Who are we to what's happening. And why are we here today. Licensed marriage and family therapist proud owner of a brand new practice. You just correct. Pacific coast therapy smokes. I know it's a big deal. It is a big deal. It's such a big deal. It's really exciting. Yeah and it's I this is like my baby right. What do business and now. I'm in the in the in the business of being a business owner. Okay so many things unpack here. Cider is just two cats and my mind. That's awesome marriage and family therapist path. And then i saw the business owner on the over here. Whatever you like what you want from me. I kind of asked him. Why have you call the two roads diverged in our our port. And it's actually kind of fitting 'cause. I've been listening to your podcast. And those are the roads that you cover like the pass that you cover is a lot of mental health and a lot of like leadership and how to support others and how to build people up but then also like how to run a business perfect. Well how long. I intersection along. Have you been doing the therapy side of things that therapy twenty fifteen outright two long road i mean i kinda wanted to have you on because i'm really proud of you and i was kind of curious. We should touch on therapy to. But i'm curious about how how it worked like. When did you decide that you wanted to have your own practice. And then once you decided that what what does that. Look like a lot of people. Listen to us. I think because they have an idea that they want to execute and that is that is something. That's really powerful for for me. Is you know empowering people to take those ideas get them out of the phase and put them in their reality. So that's my notes gradation. Now it's a great question. I it's like when does when do like from inception into reality. When does it start in. There's i think as a as a person. Sometimes you just are on this linear path. And you can only see the blinders on and you can only see like okay. This is now happening. And how did i get here right. You're just running around and you're like wait now we're here and it's going and it happened. I okay such answer your question i come from a family. That of business owners and my dad was an entrepreneur and he was a really important person for me and my life and he passed away recently but he I think he always was encouraging me to be as you know independent as i could be right and i always had that spirit of like wanting to be my own be my own boss to my own thing but also i think what really speaks to me about your podcast. Inured work as well just to kind of bring it back as you want to support other people not the party our mission. And that's what i wanna do as well as like. I'm really passionate about doing things. The right way and helping people on both sides so yes of course as therapist but also as a business owner supporting up and coming therapist therapists that are looking for a home to to work and to practice into feel supported and then it's called pacific coast air. When did you open open july. Okay cool so we're pretty fresh fresh cool however the clients that i have been working a lot of them have been with me for over. And just are with you really. Yes okay very cool and you remember. Axes santa cruz the whole time. Oh now i was actually so santa cruz and scotto since cleric but then i also the kind of beauty is with telehealth. You can declines from anywhere in california. 'cause that's where my licenses so as long as you live in california i can meet like i have clients in la. I have clients that live in the bay area and it's really great really our clients that have moved away for college and i still see them even though they were here and then they left and went down south or something i can still was that always how it worked with through telehealth now it was all in person with telehealth fits kind of expanded the field. I think you know and it's become people norm is thing. Their doctors their friends their therapists even online. It's it's really worked out and there is no difference in outcomes of therapy really an advocacy ads just as effective sexually really encouraging for anybody. Listening would be like. Oh well because i'm not going to be in person. It might not work as well. Huge is a huge win. Checking off big lebron therapy over the mazing and it's scary. It's scary for a lot of people. I think the real first session is like the scariest and then it's like oh okay. The therapist is a person. They're not judging. It's really amazing. What people Build up in their minds about what the what session is going to be like. Right like it's it's a at the end of the conversation right. I mean i remember feeling the same way. I like panicky going in like l. ing shy so anxious in a i think some of that those you recognizing that you've made a choice to go in and share stuff that you're not really comfortable sharing anywhere else and you're okay. I'm about to share this stuff. Even if you're not even telling yourself that i think subconsciously you're like i'm about to go do a thing at least if you're going to be hopefully what i would consider like is open and honest as possible. 'cause that's essentially what you know. A therapist is therefore is for you to share the whole big picture. Not just like what you want to share. Hopefully and i know you got to build that relationship. I remember being like i am i so about have a panic attack going into something. That's supposed to be anti panic-attack. Well i mean it's it's i think once you say the things that you've been thinking inside of yourself for so long and you finally say it makes it real and you can't turn back that's a good point. Yeah there's like that and then there can be after that session. There can be like buyer's remorse of like did i say too much. Did i share right and it. Can you know. It's like i let it out of the i open pandora's box and now it's all real and and so yeah. There's there's definitely a. I think a balance when somebody i starts therapy. I like to say commit to a month to a month and a half. That's like you have to commit to that that if you're serious about really wanting to go and you're thinking about going it's really great to get the ball rolling get that momentum starts to really sink in of course if there's not like the right match with your therapist you cannot hurt your therapist feelings. Just ask.

Oklahoma NAACP Files Suit Challenging Anti-Protest Law

"Lawsuit claiming a new anti protest bill approved by lawmakers this year is unconstitutional. The Oklahoma chapter of the ACP filed the lawsuit and federal court along with the National NAACP and the Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection at Georgetown University Law Center. The lawsuit argues the Oklahoma law was written to discourage peaceful demonstrations and that it violates the first and 14th amendments to the US Constitution. The law is set to take effect November 1st. It increases the penalties for blocking roadways. And grants motorists civil and criminal immunity if they kill or injure someone while quote fleeing from a riot. It also authorizes hefty fines for national organizations that coordinate with those sound guilty of committing crimes under the state's rioting statutes. The president of the Oklahoma State

White House Calls for State, Local Eviction Moratoriums After Supreme Court Ruling

"Advocates and court officials were gearing up today for what some fear will be a wave of addictions. Others, however, predicting it will just be a growing trickle after U. S Supreme Court action allowing the lockouts to resume. The high court's conservative majority late yesterday blocked the Biden administration from enforcing a temporary ban place because of the coronavirus pandemic. The action ends protections for about 3.5 million people in the US who say they face eviction in the next two months. The court's action does not affect the temporary bans on evictions placed by a handful of states, including California, White House Press secretary Jen Psaki said. The Treasury Department and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge today sent a letter to all governors, mayors and county officials urging them. To implement their own eviction moratoriums. President Biden would, of course, support congressional action to authorize an eviction moratorium, and the Supreme Court has now clearly outlined that as the sole way a moratorium could remain in effect now, at the same time, I think it's important to remember what our objective is here. Our objective is to keep as many people around the country in their homes as possible. Federal legislation is one way to do that. Obviously, the eviction moratorium we had have had in place and we've been issuing month to month is one way to do that. But the ER a funding that came through the American rescue plan, and it's going out to states is another way to do that, and we have asked, and we have put out today. The Department of Treasury and the secretary of It has the same impact right because it is preventing people from being kicked out of their homes. And these states have the funding thanks to the American rescue plan to get that done now, the other place that's our responsibility that we continue to focus on is working to eliminate any red tape that exists.

Route 66, the Mother Road

"From the first days we started working together. And i drove around a lot to gals in one thousand nine hundred seventy two green dotson roaming the tri county area like buzzing todd minus the corvette through santa cruz monterey and san benito counties in california we were doing oral histories and recording. Everybody who moved cowboys and fishermen farmworkers italian grandmothers. This was in the day of cassettes and as we drove around we always talked about how great it would be to document the roads inside roads. We were travelling so people could just pop in a cassette and listen to the people around them as they drove on through. We never quite pulled off that cassette idea on a large scale but when davy moved east for a while we decided to try the idea out on route sixty six. She'd be driving a lot so that was the start. It was the end of the road. It was the last days surf route. Sixty six as we were traveling. I mean just trying to follow it at that. Point was a you know you drive down. Affronted tro that was the old highway. And then it would just bottom out. And there'd be broken asphalt or cactus. So we're trying to get icon of people from each stretch of the road and mickey mantle grew up on route sixty six. He played baseball team. Known as the baxter springs with kids the scout for the yankees with dr along route. Sixty six looking for up and coming ballplayers and manel hits this home. Run across the highway. Congress Tackles Military Sexual Assault

"And institutional changes in the military that would target the growing problem of sexual violence within the armed forces. Critics and victims say the current practice of reporting sexual assault up the chain of command leads to the little to no justice for the victims and often exacerbates the problem. It's a recommendation from the Independent Review Commission on sexual assault and sexual harassment in the military, But I fully support removing the prosecution of sexual assaults and related crimes. British Travel Industry Urges Swifter Reopening of Sector

"Allow more quarantine free travel and provide cash strapped businesses with much needed financial support Hundreds of industry workers, including travel agents, pilots and cabin crew from airlines, such as British Airways and easyJet. Gathered outside the parliament in London. There were other protests, and Edinburgh and Belfast Simon Marx reports. Today. The growing anger of the travel industry over the British government's failure so far to loosen restrictions on international travel for fully vaccinated people from the UK and for fully vaccinated people wanting to visit the UK from overseas. Britain's airlines and holiday companies are holding a day of action on Wednesday. Calling on the government to take rapid action before it's too late to salvage the 2021 summer holiday season. The sands of Time are rapidly slipping through the hourglass, says Julie Low beside the chief executive of the Advantage Travel partnership. We have upset every part of the industry together, really try to in a united fashion make it very clear to government. The devastation has been caused offer an industry that's been shut down effective for 15 months, not also for businesses but also for people will have crew there. We've got different representatives of pilots will be coming along. We really need the government to listen to our society. 15 months an entire industries be shut down people losing their homes. People can't feed their family. We're at a real crisis point. And we need the government's who urgently look and understand at the devastation that's being caused. The British government says it is considering the possibility of giving fully vaccinated people more flexibility to travel. But only yesterday, the country's health secretary said it's too early to know how soon those changes might be implemented. Simon marks Washington. You're listening to the evening news on

"You new boots so tell our mass stellar mentality relation for dwarf galaxy so data said That is a mathematical relationship that you can derive more of an empirical energy american relations. People is led by one of my former students. He wasn't my phd student for new wrote this paper but he was my phd student before that at santa cruz in kirby led this paper and what he did was a team of us. We had a student who had contributed while she was a high school student. Should contributed to the altar on this paper. So what evan did. Group of us did in that paper to look at the chemical composition of stars in a whole bunch of galaxies in the local group. These are small galaxy that are orbiting andromeda small galaxies that are orbiting the milky way and we looked at the average chemical composition of stars in a galaxy on the y axis on the x. Axis was the mass of the galaxy that these stars living in and we saw very clear trend. This trend has been known about for a while but we saw we were able to extend this down to relatively low mass galaxies and we saw very very clear trend. Yeah yeah and so so so in conclusion. I want to ask you so you do a lot of work. In the eighty s galaxies and their composition of their progression any debt. gives us some additional insights into this nagging question of. What does doc matt red blood. Alcohol data is distributed indirectly. Yes what is our what we are doing here. In the studies of galaxies in the local group andromeda away and satellites is really looking at the assembly process. We're looking at. How galaxies get assembled and this assembly is mediated by the gravity of dark matter in these systems whether it's the gravity of the wolf galaxy that's falling into andromeda or the collective dark matter of andromeda itself we are looking at the gravitational effects off the dock matter because it's those gravitational effects that are moderating these galaxy collisions and mergers. It's moderating how much material is lost from galaxies during supernova explosions. So we are studying dark matter through. Its gravitational effects. Which is you know. The primary way in which people studied up matter in astronomy is through its gravitational effects Any of the techniques us any Any higher position of the mass of the star or that is not really needed. The mass off the stars that are yes. I'm just wondering so. Given if we have a higher position of the mass of the galaxy and mass of the stars but apps it gives us A better view as to how dark matter might be distributed but i guess the already have techniques to determine the masses. Will you know you've hit the nail on the head actually for these low mass galaxies. They are more and more dark matter dominated. That is When you go to galaxy like the milky way or andromeda they contained matter but when you go to these galaxies they are very inefficient Farmers of stars so that ratio of luminous matter. "Even that does a very small chance of that happening because the sun is in the inobound safai galaxy. The autism are likely to get often but The chance of the earth getting ripped from the sun are essentially zero and There's a small chance of the sun and solar system will become An exterior entity wouldn't be no longer be an interior star in the milky way galaxy. That that's an amazing thing isn't it Even though they look at the galaxy look at milky way you can see Millions and millions of stars but the space between them is so enormous. Been to galaxies collide. They're sort of going through clean through each other in some sense rate very much so the space between stause is vast compared to the sizes of stars. And this is something i i teach in. My introductory class at santa cruz is if you take the stars in our milky way and you shrink shrink. The milky way proportion at these with the stars are one centimeter in size. Each start is glass marble. That's one centimeter in diameter. That's the size of a mobile right as kids. We played last marble so one centimeter mobile. If you imagine this shrinking everything so that the sun becomes the size of a one centimeter glass. Mabul while the nearest son the nearest star to the sun would be three hundred kilometers away in ill down model. So they're like one centimeter model's separated by three hundred kilometers. So you can see why Collisions between stars are very rare when galaxies collide the as you said the literally pass through each other yet the collisions rare but obviously the gravitational takes is going to be huge accurately. These two galaxies will form is sort of combination galaxy or over a long period of time. Bread that is correct. It would be like a corporate merger to big companies. Come together a few people get laid off. That will happen. A few stars will get off and in this process when the two galaxies collide. In fact it's those few stars that get often from the milky way andromeda system that carry away energy that allows the rest of the systems to coalesce into a single big galaxy. And so so we have not the things to worry about a few billion years out by but still happen before the sun Sort of Son so it becomes a red giant happen much before it'll happen around the same time we think. The sun is about a middle aged star. The sun has been around for four and a half billion years in about four and a half five billion years. The sun will blow up into a red giant. That point it will blow up so much that it's likely to engulf certainly scorch the earth but likely in gulford So around that same time Are the andromeda galaxy. Would start to get close enough that it's distorting the shape of the milky ran really starting shape. The you know the predictions the coalition will last for a few billion years. It's not an instantaneous. Collision it be a few billion years between andromeda. I close approach and the to becoming one galaxy where you can distinguish the two pieces anymore. That process itself will last for a few billion years. But it'll start around the time. The sun is becoming a red giant. Okay and because of the gravitational force i would imagine this movement accelerated right. That's correct that is exactly so as we get closer and closer to become faster faster that's correct but the but the whole dance as you say kill going to take a couple of billion years try and so andromeda speidel galaxy as well it is is a spiral galaxy just like our own so you have to spiral. Galaxies merging so that case will be getting elliptical. We will get into the galaxy in fact when you have two galaxies that are spyros but they're comparable in size the kind of merger it's called is called a major whether to galaxies comparable to each other in terms of mass and size so they will literally destroy the structure form each will destroy the structure and form of the other. And you'll end up with sort of chaotic Set of Orbits chaotic is not the right to mathematically but a good way to think of it is the set of bees swarming around a hive as opposed to a marching band where people are going around on a plane and they're marching in lockstep so they're all traveling at the speed

"A very special guest the sports editor for the Santa Cruz Sentinel 23 time Associated Press sports editor award-winner Jim seimas, Jim. Welcome to the show off you drop. Thanks for having me. Appreciate it Jim and I have had the awesome opportunity of meeting each other in a couple of different capacities over the last year or so first. I met you as an intern for the pajaronian wage when I was reveley scholar studying under Brad kava at Cabrillo and then later, you know in my role of sports and Information Specialist at Cabrillo and you obviously still with the Sentinel we wanted to be on the show today because Danny and I are both making money in our careers as writers, you know, we do writing here and there and I guess you could say that we had an innate interests in people who not only right but also write for the Sentinel because we've had on Ryan Masters before a former Sentinel writer who body surfed at wage. Rick's back in I think 2006 that Joe is that the year that he at Mavericks something like that. I'd have to double-check his old writings, but it was early mid two thousand. This may be late home or remembering and Ryan was an amazing interview. He was really fun and we kind of learned our lesson that when it comes to having guests on the show, you really want to look for people who are comfortable using their words took a story and who have a lot of experience kind of funneling down their information, but for somebody like me who grew up reading Hunter Thompson and a lot of writers that came originally from a sports writing background. I've always had this this Romanticism if you will of of what a sports writer is and that was kind of pushed ahead by working for Tony Nunez who was at the time the sports editor at the potter onia now, he is the managing editor and you know working with you and meeting Julie and leading one and I guess it's really cool meeting these people who spend dead. The the bulk of their time living in sport and and kind of articulating and taking sport out and a big part of what I've tried to do during my time to Cabrillo is digitized r-sport make them available for streaming online. Mostly for the purpose of trying to let more people get a chance to a common experience that activity as we enter a world following this covid-19 Choice. It's not following yet. But has we live in this kind of post covid-19 world the time before fans will be allowed back to watch sports happen will probably come after Sportz get back underway, which means that people like us are all of a sudden going to be really pushed back to the Forefront and be creating this bridge to connect people with this activity that they truly love and care for or players or teams or whatever. So kind of from that launching point. Where where did you first get started as a writer and what made you decide that that way? Are you were going to you know, keep the bills paid? Was funny cuz I interviewed so many kids that are college committed and asked what they're going to major in and half of them don't know and I'm fine with that. But I and then there's other kids who do they knew in fifth grade that I wanted to be a sportswriter. Excuse me. I have some allergies here. So I, every now and then around fourth fifth grade page and initially wanted to be like the San Francisco Giants announcer and there's only two of them and I know like connection to baseball whatsoever other than being a fan and I kind of even figured out that age like hey there I you know X ball players are getting these jobs. You're not going to get one and then, you know, just taking radio television type stuff and you know if I had a face or voice for neither, so I just kind of jumped into you know, a fifth grade. We did a little writing project. Would that where we had our books published or bound at least and I can't remember it was unbeknownst to me boss. So maybe in a contest and I wasn't a very good writer, but it won an award and I was very happy about that. I still have that book in my basement. I would like to say it was probably like Game of Thrones before Game of Thrones happened, but far simpler only three pages. So, you know, I did my own artwork for it with you know, drawings and swords and blood. Anyway, that was awful. I was hooked. I obviously don't like didn't read recently like a large audience at all, but I have so much fun writing that I really enjoyed creative writing in junior high school besides that my writing was absolutely atrocious growing up all my papers were covered in red ink from the teachers and that kind of was like the kitchen me ask to like. Hey, let's let's try harder at this. Let's try and figure out how to construct a sentence a little bit better and and your thoughts and I'm specimens. I'm still battling today, but I remember I try not to be sports editor wage. Junior High and the junior high paper is pretty much all song dedications and this and that and very little of substance but I got beat out for that position and took still enjoyed writing and then I did I did a couple of years on my high school paper at Westmont high and Campbell. And again, I did poorly in this like a British literature class. So I actually took off journalism twice you're only allowed to take it once but I knew that's what I was going to go into and you know, so and after that I went to West Valley College in Saratoga and I did far too many semesters on their page Church went to San Jose State did far too many semesters on their paper. I wasn't really like set on graduating. I was having so much fun on each step. Excuse me, boss. So on each stamp learning so much, you know when you were

"Santa Cruz it is our fifth week of this program schedule so we've been running this program for five weeks now brought you a merry out of topics to the airwaves last week we talked a lot about love in the age of code red and I think we wanna just recap that really quickly and maybe expand on some things that we've noticed over the last week what's what's been going on I had kind of it a new experience at work this week earlier I was working and I was doing door duty which consists of counting people out of the store it's really really difficult and a customer came up to me and said Hey I just wanna tell you I think you're really pretty and it took me by surprise of course because I am wearing a mask that covers two thirds of my face very good point and I just stared at him and kind of laughed and said how do you know he it's a great question but at the same time if you well we've been talking about this you can generally tell when somebody's attractive even when they're wearing masks so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility but maybe not I had an experience where somebody hit me up on a dating up after a long time and was like Hey I was feeling really lonely and came across one of your playlists through your profile and it made me feel better and that was the I mean a big ego boost as a DJ but then separately a really cool way to connect with somebody in a way that I wasn't really expecting to because those aren't necessarily ops that it takes to press hastily contrary to one of our listeners last week who wrote in and said that she is an experienced online dater and she at seventy two seventy three somewhere in there has somebody who's using it now comes and visits in her yard and she found the love of it made my heart sink a little bit and I was super slow I don't think that'll ever be that confident on a dating app to be able to even foster a relationship but literal arm's length link reaching out my arm as you can see it they are just exploring different ways that people are connecting still and then we had one other experience when we're on west cliff yes and we were we were posts jog just kind of dancing out the the feels and somebody kind of laughed at us and when when you saw stance saying and asked if we that was our work out and we can kind of laughed and said no and he disappeared for a little bit and as we're walking back to our card to leave he just came up and was like Hey wanna wanna hang out which is something that's not technically acceptable right now yeah you can't really hang out with people in this moment especially not strangers and just the details of that is totally in as are undefined so unless you know that you're gonna be outside on somebody's patio from six feet apart or you know there's just a lot more digging that you kind of have to do I feel like somebody also this week asked me if I was willing to do a high five yeah I've been getting a lot of like a hug requests or yeah hi five requests some of which have turned down because I'm not gonna yeah I remember you turned one down the other yeah the somebody asked me do you do you do hugs right now and I said I'm kind of hugging one person and she's across the studio for you right now sorry so I'm trying to actually limit my contact because I do come into contact with a lot of other people through work in ways that I try to be conscientious of but it's hard but love in the age of covered if you have any stories you can text us eight three one four five nine four zero three six would love to know how your how you're coping with this moment what is making you feel less lonely and less isolated or if you have any good coronavirus pick up lines we would also love to hear those because we're trying to understand how people are flirting through this I mean it's been two months essentially flirting with her face covered it sounds ridiculous but it's that's where I'm at right now yep and potentially will be if former how long do you think I don't know but I'm not really ready to accept that yeah somebody said that to me yesterday we're gonna be doing this for a really long time did they specify how long they thought he thought that it was going to be for an hour until fall at least yeah and I just can't imagine I mean I've complained about this before on it but both of us have to wear masks for eight plus hours a day at work and it's funny when a customer will come in and say I can't wait to get this thing often we we I mean we have like panic attacks every time we go in for the first time and we're not used to wearing it or not it's not restrict your airflow it's it's caused a lot of anxiety for me just because I can't breathe and then I start hyperventilating which is not fun doesn't make you any less fearful that you could be second moment either but yeah we are healthy so we're grateful yeah if you if you have any covert related stories CPAS cheating or otherwise eight three one four five nine four zero three six is the number it to hit us up on and we're gonna talk a little bit we're gonna have it do a hard pivot right now toward thinking about things that you can be doing especially since we think we're not gonna be able to be in contact with people up for the foreseeable future I mean I I'm kind of under the impression that it's going to be through the end of this year that we will at least be wearing masks if not social distance energy rules fresher throughout the rest of the not that will be a shelter in place for that length of time I mean we're already in phase two the calling it for her re opening certain businesses but I anticipate that it's going to happen awhile longer I am under the impression that most of the UC's and most universities are going to be online for the fall as well that's what I heard and in schools too mmhm so that is another indication for me that this is going to continue so while you're biting your time we're gonna get into a little chat about farming here in a second or gardening for those of us who aren't dealing with lots of acres we have a phone call on the line so we're going to play a.

"To Santa Cruz and kitchen today. We are going to be reviewing Berga for Berga Week. I am Mel and I'm Andrea a couple of friends just like to hang out. Eat food at Santa Cruz restaurants. Well we'd like to eat food all the time but if rates go to Santa Cruz restaurants eat food and then talk about it and share experience with you. Have you seen any new restaurants? Ernie old restaurants so I did hear on the Grapevine And it was from a friend. We both who lives on the wayside. She said Splash on. The warriors changed hands. She says someone. The new owner is someone who owns some other restaurants on the wolf and she was a little her. I guess the scoop on the west side. She's a little miffed because she has a gift certificate by on the wolf and she wasn't sure if they will honor us. Oh so a splash in the work. But now it's still special work but with somebody else I think so. I don't know if it's going to change names or if it's closed I don't know was it like used to be Gildas or not. I think Gildas is still there And I don't remember which ones so choose on the wolf Tuesday night. You can pack for free. I did not know that yes well. It's like locals night. So a lot of places love restaurants on the wolf. Have you know a a you know? Four appetite for meals for only fifteen dollars thing. I mean for choices for fifty dollars because it's repacking so they call that locals night. Okay maybe we should hit. We talk about all the restaurants who just GONNA end. That will be three hundred pounds as going to take US fifty years full. Have four hundred podcasts. Under our belt if we can fit out the new belt what about you. Have you been any sort of close rope? No but I did hear that. Whale city bakery went for sale at the end of February. Is that the one Davenport at is the one. I love that place. I love sitting out there on highway. One just watching things go by and then after having some breakfast stumbling across the street to the beaches and bringing the dogs down there and running around a little bit. I love that place. I've been there before. Also in there were like a triathlon. And they up there they turn around at a jail in Davenport right and then come right back down pass wheel city bakery so that's always a fun morning to go up there and it's a nice dry from Santa Claus at ten miles. Yeah it is beautiful well. I hope that they sell it for what they want. And that the new owners keep everything that everyone loves. So too yeah. They have great baked goods. Great coffee good breakfasts and you see a lot of locals and tourists there too right. I have been there before when a bus of thirty five. Three people land there and not my FAV- better hope you've ordered when they arrive so I'm exertion. We call sort of stepping out of staying in so stepping out is when we go to restaurant without the other person and staying in is when we do a little food experimented home. So did you step out or experimented so I've stepped out but I can't remember where I went to obviously wasn't this place. And then excuse me no experiments so latest stat and talk about what we did well. It was Brenner Week so we wanted to go to another place that had burs right so I chose. Mel had said which one she didn't want to go to and so I chose a couple of choices all that had to burgers now. I didn't do any research so I found this one could Abani Saleh's and it's the old BACCI cells so it's INSA. Now St it down by on the WAY TO COSTCO. So it's in that whole industrial area and botchy cells as always have been a couple of years ago and Ukulele Club meets there and I think it's the oldest restaurant in Santa Chris. Oh Wow so. We had two choices. I'm like hey let's go there and we generally tend to eat early. 'cause now goes to sleep. She gets up really only so So we we show up and there's no sign that says Bonnie nowhere it was like what's the address so we looked at the address and it was their address on bodies and this three bungie signs like yeah I call the cell. Signs of the bodies is nothing. That's his money so we know so. It's really wages sort of it's an. Oh It's behind an old house and sort of behind underneath an old house. Saleh right so you walk in and is the first by a couple of people at the Bob this low Bat Tanda. Maybe that was a kitchen but not sure right and then you walk through and in the bedroom which is where the Ukulele club me and using that where they used to have the botchy courts they had the bungee cords. And I think I've been to a show there and you said you'd been to a show on the front. It was just in the front part. Yeah so we walk in the back in these another little bond is about tinder and there's someone on stage singing. There's a little band of his one woman tapped up saying yeah right and the music and these people sort of sitting around and they all look like they're in the sixty And it looks like we've gone into a private club and I don't think anybody had food on the table there. There was no food. People were drinking and people had to pay run but it felt like there was a private club. We got into the knitting club. No-one at tap dancing club and it was very it was like this weighed five so we serve. No one acknowledged us. Yeah so we're like okay. We're getting this vibe. No one had food. We names kitchen. We didn't see menu. Yeah we did as my starting. Maybe we used to go the other room for so we go into the other room and the batting tours in the front room is now in the background. But she's looking back to the front so we don't even see the same people sitting at the table. No sort of kitchen or maybe that was a kitchen. There's a little chalkboard that says Burger weaken. Has the two boobs listed and her hands are making a sign the size of a cell phone right now no. It's a tiny little sign. Maybe to cell phones put together. Tiny little sign in the vibe is so bizarre. We just really bizarre bizarre. We just like left. We were there the day drinkers. And we're interrupting the whole flow of the tap dancing. Not Welcome there so I think if someone come over and said Hey. Can we get you anything or a week? I would have stayed and watch those right but it was just as we'd five. Yeah and you know no sign so we were out of there and I'm curious if anybody knows why they advertise as Rabbani. When there's no sign anywhere saying Rabbani or anything like that or if anyone has gone a week oh gone to eat it all. Yeah just really drop us a line at Santa Cruz and kitchen at gmail.com. Yeah we would love to hear from you. Live to uncover the mystery. Yes but the whole thing was weird and win not spring chickens are selves. Yeah this is sort of a bizarre vibe. So okay wait do we go. Yeah so we we left and nobody stopped. Oh wait help you Yeah it was bizarre so we thought about it and we're like we WANNA play. That has more than two burgers and it's Berg Week. So where do we end up Mel Burger? They'll be gone vision. Inveigh lots of bogus burgers and pizza and salads but they probably have fifteen twenty Bogan. Oh man they have a giant menu hint menu drop menu. It's probably what nine or ten feet tall. Yeah Oh more I think six or eight P Y so it's you walk in. Well it depends on where you walk in what they call. The front is what is called the side But then three entrances. They have to Baz actually so they had one made by. So where we sit behind you so you can sit at the bowery. You can sit at the tables. It's very much a you order at the front. Sit Down they bring you food and you leave what I love is when instead of giving you a number. They gave me a little card. It has I had Johnny Cash David Bowie. Oh Nice cash the little prisoner number on the Front. I think it was his mugshot. And the side view. David Bowie didn't have no shot though. No no no. I think it was actually David Bowie. So it's very It's you know you wait. You Order you sit down. They bring you your food. I mean if you want a drink order the by bringing you food they did have a quote Unquote Special Burke Burger Week. But it wasn't a special burger on the menu all the time which was a Burgh between two donuts. Yuck I know the guy in front of US order. That did he yeah. Ooh I wish we would've seen gone by. And then you could order side and you got Sweep Janet fries and the coleslaw choice at the fries will co flow and the bogus. Were around ten or eleven dollars each one and we didn't I didn't get anything to drain. Did You Burger? Did you have oh? I had the the Salmon Book. I think they call it. The Pink Berga Salmon is paint so I had the Pink Program. Hit the coastal. So the Burger was it a skim sound. You know they go to Steinle source that. I'm sure it is but it's basically just a frozen burger. They took out of the freezer. And they shove it on the grill and then they put it in the so. It wasn't like Oh my God. This is a great deals like a fresh salmon. No no it wasn't. I was a Salmon Burger. And you know what is really the only way you can have that many things on a main issue yeah is do frozen durenberger week especially during buckling but feeling this is not because of Boga Week that were there. We bumped into someone. We knew I'd actually friends of yours. I see them all the time when you see them and so they will between going through you know they were going to something of the university and they are on the way to something downtown so they stopped for a burger and it feels like they kind of place where people stop in or they bring the kids or the college students of the age of twenty one thing right or having a pizza. It's right on the corner of Bay mission having a pizza having a solid. It's definitely It say casual kind of place. It's got the concrete floors. It's got the black wall a lot of black in there black in there and steal seats right. Salem Wood Sates Over a pacing was fine and the Burger King quite fast so I knew what I had. What did you have? I had to land slider. Oh yeah they're a little lamb little three inch burgers on a COUPLA bonds and a couple of bites. They're done. They were delicious again. Caramelized onion white cheese Just slimy and tasty and plate worthy platelet worthy okay and then I had a couple of your fries and they would delay. Were good because I've had sweet potato fries before on the site may not there but I did you serve. How can you be normal fries? You can miss up normal rising up sweet potato fries so yeah me if I ever end up in a place like that because I've never got bad. I've never seen sweep dated Friday. I didn't love some mine was like Tampax and yours was. I don't even remember. Probably twelve bucks so we didn't get any dessert. I don't know if they even had deserted sparkling water. Oh yeah that's right and I just had the regular water from the tap or whatever it is So what was this for you The Burger was a plate liquor. I am dreaming about that. Really Lamb sliders. Yes for since we went there. Wow isn't a shower just the other day thing it now. Where should I go to lunch today? I The landslide irs. So I'd enemy for like years ago and they're memorable then so I'll definitely go back and they have..
