"Hell of a show lined up for you this week. Of course are gonna get into the facemask apocrypha last week that we did that. Yeah i think we've got some new stuff in the stack. I actually got some pretty good florida man stuff. Oh yeah we've got some stuff lineup for ya. Yeah we got like a political nonsense of core and got california man yet another simpsons prediction. Come true yeah. We got a lot of good stuff to cover tonight. That's for sure jokes. A good one folks as usual before that happens. Why don't you give us a call in our hotline. Eight one three nine. Oh six nine zero nine nine or email us at the war on morons at yale dot com and last but certainly not least. Leave us a comment down below in the chat. Let us know you're here either way we want you be a part of the show but but only if you're on the approved list here if i got a picture of you next to next year number and isn't that how this works now around the only again all right well. Let's get into the staggered stupidity. So i already alluded to this earlier. So let's start things off with the crazy situation going on in florida. Where miami beach declared a state of emergency last week over spring breakers on completely out of their minds. why emergency Who yeah the sunshine state of emergency so turn that caravan around head back to honduras or whatever. The spring break is cancelled. Why me in very very funny. I don't know i'm trying to make that joke. Lamb and of course the media trim paint this as a cold thing. Because that's what they do. Everything's gotta be you know evidence how florida we were really trying to make dissatisfied. Being bad happened. Santa cova thing. There are literally hordes like tens of thousands of drunken revellers crowding in the streets. So they're saying like oh the superspreader event. All these people not wearing masks champ raton florida. Didn't you see the super bowl. It's been like that in florida for well for as long as i can remember. That's the thing that's not why they call the state of emergency. They'll call god they call the state of emergency because of roving gangs of aggressively can get the senate's out aggressively twerking hood. Rats running around beating the shit outta random people and then shaking their bare asses over their victims. Like fucking ricky. All the things i thought you were going to say that was not even in the realm yacht even in the room. What the hell. I knew we were pretty much. In a post apocalyptic society at this point. I knew that but honestly mad. Max did not prepare me for what the fuck that just. What are working and beating. People know what i was told. There'd be zombies and instead we got ghetto tour gangs. Maybe in four night dances. But how do they do the the floss. Or whatever delays can you merck somebody and then torque over their dead body in four-night night. I the worst hearts a fortnight and halo and we're actually implementing them into society. Apparently it's gotten completely out of hand. I mean people are just wrecking miami. Beach wrecking south beach. The whole fucking city. Unlike the nice parts of the city to the stats. Shame because honestly. There's a lot of parts of miami that you could rack and it wouldn't look much different. But why do you think they're not in those parts from those parts. These are people that i mean you saw all summer. Spring break there. They got an excuse what they got. So yeah there's something like ten thousand arrests People have been destroying property smashing up cars. They're like dancing on top of people's cars and shit dude from fucking two live crew. Remember that like The rap group from that from the eighties got in trouble for a okay. Well you didn't miss much. He's out there and he's just like he's like he's like oh you guys are just being racist you saying black people can have a good time. Ten thousand ten thousand arrests people Beating the living shit out of random bystanders. I mean. I don't know. I mean. I guess we're also saying that like cannibals can't go out and have a good time. I mean you know you put a human being on a spit. People are going to have a problem with it. I'm sorry well. I mean i got some questions i mean. What's your level of privilege. There's there's been like a rate it's insane it's out of control and and people are trying to turn this into Corona virus super spreading intellects. Let's get our story straight. It's are we gonna get outraged. Because these people are super spreaders be shutting their homes and like punished for being bad people in not wearing masks like demonizing them or are we demonizing the police. Who are trying to get them under control because they're just black people trying to have the time to that narrative they did. They did the second one. Yeah they're they've already said already they're gonna come back. We're gonna come back memorial day weekend. We're not gonna be intimidated by you. Guys shutting the city down and do point pepper balls. This is this is about the culture and it's basically a blm protests without a reason this time they're coming. Congratulations them might miami beach. Screen break is already terrible. I mean it's a good time. I not to be fair. I mean a lot of them are probably college kids. They're not exactly smart people. Well mean Guess what kids e can get drunk on fucking natty ice or whatever in your dorm rooms without having to worry about. But he get the trash beaten out of your by random strangers and talking the be ten people in a cheap motel room in fucking florida. Yeah i mean just stay at home. It's better you know. I don't i don't think you're gonna win the hearts and minds of with with that addie eyesafe. Oh no. i don't think that. I don't think that's way them but i mean beca college student they. They like shit many ice at home. I'll pretend on t shirts. i'll. I'll sell a bunch of t shirts. These fucking kids ever getting money together. All right well at home. i think that'll be a big seller. Meanwhile while in my in idell beach actually so a little further north of forty three year old woman was hospitalized after being rescued from a storm drain hiding from the spring spring breakers. Now no they hadn quite taken over. Delray beach palm beach. County is not exactly a affordable destination for the college crowd but according to wpa ec went for refreshing dip in a canal found behind her boyfriend's house. If you're familiar with the canals in palm beach county They do not look appealing or refreshing. So this is off to an odd start. While she was swimming in the canal she surprisingly as far as we know did not encounter in alligator on but she did spotted mysterious doorway near the shallow part of the canal. The canal the canal. It can now. Is this by chance. You feminism now because it sounds like you're talking about like basically a fucking sewer. We'll.

"The night at work out for nikki says i watched a documentary curious. George created it was surprisingly good only question. What the hell was all the strange talking in the last minute before. The alan cox clip the screen is black and it sounds like some strange pig. Latin or is that a secret love language between him and douching. I haven't seen it. But i don't know deity you know what that what it is. I forgot to rover to watch it. Criticize i knew. I needed twenty. I didn't wanna watch it and stop and forget so. I needed twenty five minutes. I could not find twenty five minutes to watch it. Just not i will this week. That is a promise you promise them. We'll try my balance. I promise i started. I don't have twenty five minutes right now. And i don't wanna miss something so i will Let's see here. Ken writes rover. Welcome back once again. My wife got me. The new rover's morning glory sweatshirt for christmas. I have every single one. That's come out from the very beginning. We had a covid style. Bonfire christmas gift exchange with the family. I happened to have my arm. G sweatshirt on underneath by santa suit and especial santa cova mask. I thought you would enjoy seeing other. He sent in a picture all right. I guess it's his mask with the santa beard. Attached good suit yeah. Owning one of those suits the cool like a red. It's like an actual suit out santa suit like a traditional but an actual red button-down suit that a business guy would wear with santa claus heads on it or something Jody writes boy. Do i miss you guys. I hope you're back on monday. Here's a picture of our horrible grandson. Bang jan how you say that. In his new. Ram g. t. shirt his a little mohawk the kid jeans and boots. Yeah yeah here's like a full outfit. I don't think he walk every day as wearing the i don't put my pants everyday punk onesie. That's a cute kid ben. Jan is that right b. e. n. j. or perhaps it's french never heard of that or it could be a misprint. I don't know sh sherry rights over. I'm loving my new armed sweatshirt. it's really comfortable. I'm also looking forward to the rmc plus show tonight. This was back from when we did a bonus show. I'll tell you some other. She is in her rover's morning. Glory sweatshirt. I tracked a lot of packages and i saw the number of undelivered packages dwindling down every day. But i have never seen anything. I don't know what in the world was going on for the past month at the post office. I ordered something for my girlfriend. Let's say end of november mealy ships and then just nothing. It showed up after christmas. Maybe even in between christmas and new year so full months sure of just sitting somewhere. I things i have not arrived yet. I watch some of these packages when people say oh my i know we. We shipped out a lot of stuff on december third. That was a big day and a lot of people go. They've they've i haven't gotten my stuff yet after a week or two. Okay but a lot of these tracking. 's this is the weird. I don't know what is going on at the post office. A lot of tragedies it will take know package printed december third december fourth Arrived at post office awaiting acceptance three days later accepted and then it just goes dark. It sits there. It will sit there. Sometimes i've seen packages sit there for three weeks. And then they just pop up somewhere sometimes. Not even where they're supposed to be but you know sometimes they just pop up and then they'll wherever they pop up and new jersey or whatever they'll sit there for a week and then eventually they'll be delivered i i. I don't know what's going on. But i was watching some news stories where they go someplace. The packages would and then like The post office as we can't take these sent them to totally different post offices in illinois or indiana or something have it sit there for a while so they they can process it just to send it back to where you are. It's crazy. I have a tracker tax me and it shows me the map of where everything is. It's just been sitting. I have one thing. That's sitting in a hub. That went the wrong direction. It's crazy. I think everybody's ship your christmas gifts. Everybody bought online. So that's why weren't they overloaded. The post office also the postmaster general. They put new weird postmaster general that got rid of the sorting machines from per guy and he did it on purpose to slow down mail in voting. It's not it's not a big secret. They did that on purpose of the complain about the votes. And now everybody's right after the election. Yeah all the christmas stuff happens. Well then i then due to those too yeah Who knows how many people are out. And i i. I used to work for the government state government. Not the federally ever. I'm assuming they have some sort of union of postal union. So if you've been within an eight hundred yard radius of someone with covid you probably have two weeks four and teen paid quarantine time that aikoff come back to work for three days and then oh i was my grandmother. Now you have to quarantine again for another two weeks i. I don't know for sure. But i'm guessing that's what's some of that stuff is happening. Same rights i purchase all of your merchandise. So when you came out with the by at my daughter is too old and i don't know any one of the small child so i had to improvise. I hope you enjoy the pictures of my cats. Trying on the onesie with the greatest jail are saying. I poop my pants everyday pucks. There's his cat wearing a jeffrey pooped pants once he does other to. Just do that. My cats and that one's e.

"How to christmas if i asked you to. Tell me about how you do christmas. I bet you'd start telling me about family. Traditions decorations scheduled for opening presents. Typical attendance at church services and stuff like that right now. You wanna tell me about the lights. You've put up in the midst of the pandemic in who can't travel to see whom and we are so far afield. We can't see the baby through the pine needles. But before i send you on a guilt trip which is just too easy to do. I want to ask more thoughtful question. How should we do christmas. If we want to have anything to do with the founder in my not so humble opinion anything we do regularly can get distorted by the familiarity which loves to breed contempt. Christmas comes around every year whether we like it or not. But why why is this something. We're celebrating or is it. When i was a new christian i went through what i jokingly referred to as the jehovah witness stage of questioning every tradition which is not explicitly commanded in the bible. Just because something is a tradition. Doesn't make it go to right right. If you've ever been willing to talk to a jehovah witness knocking on your door. They will explain. Why birthdays and holidays aren't worth celebrating. They may have a point. So why is the church determined for two thousand years the wrong in the holy in holy day for the birth of jesus and we like and here what can we do to put the holy into our christmas. How can we learn more about the one. Where celebrating. How can we teach our children and grandchildren. In such a way that they don't fall prey to the consumer a secularists the cynical communists or the grasping pagans in the midst of their winter festivals and chili sauces. They answered this question. We've asked back. Dr perry downs a former professor of christian education at trinity evangelical divinity school the alma mater of your host. He's real practical a foster parent over thirty blessed children and just real enough to be worth listening to welcome back to church shirts and dr perry downs. Thank you john. I really appreciate being here with you. Pair you know. I like to jump into theory. But let's just to. Which your favorite christmas memory i have to. I think i would share with your one is Just from my own childhood in that is the the wonderment of krista christmas morning Because it was all about senate and presents you know i remember getting up in the morning and seeing the tree always presence and our family tradition was. You could not open anything until parents got up and then we had to have breakfast. And then we'd come back and have to sit and look at the tree at how beautiful it was looking at all the presence of i. Finally we just do that to drive us nuts. You know we wanna do is a double backflip into the presents under the tree. We rotated around took them one at a time. But it's just it's really such joyful memories for me of my childhood in the northeast right so you probably had snow and stuff like that during christmas. Yeah i dropped. Grew up in connecticut so we would. we'd have snow quite quite a bit and so it was. It was quite quite magical The other memory though i have is With the foster kids we had twin boys. We got a two and a half years of age and Were the home been in into a half years so they had zero stability whatsoever and in fact what we did when we got them you know we forgot how in the world that we get control of his and we decided on one rule we've had one role of family and that was it and the rule was you will never guess was. We don't bite each other because they did all the time. And so my wife had The hand puppet with big teeth and the puppet would bite her on the arm and then she her finger at the pump and say no no no in this family. We don't bite and that's we'd hear them. You know. find doing that to another. No no no family. We'd don't bite and so that's how will you know. We had to do to get control of the first christmas. They never seen anything like it. and They came down christmas morning and saw his presence and set them. We gave them their gifts in the first gifts that they opened with with were rubber boots. They'd never had boots was wintertime. And so we got him boots and they went nuts over the boots. Put him on over there. Pajamas wanted to go outside. Walk in the snow and we couldn't get them back to understand you have more presence dolphin because that was beyond their comprehension but you watch the wonder and the joy those little guys you know it was. It was amazing. And i'll tell you now that they both have masters degrees ones working on his phd. Wow yeah and they came out of health. Isn't it hard not to in with a church context and that's what we deal with. Church zand the whole church and the fact that oftentimes it hurts. And i think one of the things that potentially can hurt predicted you utah in a conservative seminary. And there's the issue of those saying you know Santa's iffy i mean santa's getting in the way of the message of christmas and that has really such a divide because there are people who are here that and just roll their eyes and say you are really a freak. I mean really to even ask that question How did you deal with with santa in christian household when you're teaching other people how to teach about jesus. I can go on for a long time on this. But alex tell you that what we do. We really wrestled with that. Because there are people that said if you teach your kids santa's real and then later on they find out he's not real then they're gonna think well jesus. Is it really either. Well i think that's way too simplistic i think. Kids are pretty good at sorting. Make play from real but what we did with. My kids were little. We told them one time that we have a game that we play at christmas time in santa and we pretend that santa claus comes and brings presents and stuff and it's a really fun game and so that's what we did. You know we just. We pretended but we never reinforce it. After that we just talked about. You gotta get to bed cassandra's coming tonight. And they threw themselves into a loved it but knew in the background. It really wasn't true but as as kids got older i got we develop a tradition. Where i got really. I used to get grumpy about santa cova because it made such a mess. There were all these stupid presence. And all this wrapping paper you know. So i try to talk santa ana not common talk said. Try to convince anna not to come like started with signs. I'd make up a sign in now. No reindeer on the roof. You know no presence here. And meanwhile the kids would make other scientific. Santa welcome you know and stuff like that and it. Just escalated escalated escalated until finally One year we had we had adopted our thirtieth lost child. So my kids are all you know. We're we're in graduate school. When we adopted her new exist by that point for san diego then sorted that went out to but.

"How's he going to keep a job when he needs to have his diapers changed. He's gonna wear diapers to a job. Although i guess there's a lot of elderly men that are wearing diapers possibly to a job. But it's it's quite possible this guilty plea. It says here puts an end to a strange criminal. Saga that came to light in two thousand nineteen when the louisiana state police arrested this guy d. s. for convincing a series of women to change his diapers d. as had posed on babysitting apps as the brother of a man named cory cory he claimed have had mental and physical disabilities. He convinced the women to treat corey. Who is actually diaz himself as if he were a child okay so he put an advertisement on an app saying hey. Please take care of my brother. He has emotional and physical disabilities. It's actually him. they show up. He pretends to be the brother quote. Corey to get his diapers changed at the court. Hearing it says here to women spoke of their sense of betrayal when they found out that he did not suffer from the disabilities that claimed one of them said. I used to believe that almost everyone in the world was inherently good. In this case i was wrong. Oh the loss of your innocence right here in a court case. It's a shame that you had to lose it this way. Yeah we all believe that the world is inherently good in the very beginning of life and then you live long enough. You see that most people are just shit and i'm just calling it like it. It's a big disappointment when you when you live long enough and you realize that there's hardly anybody who's inherently good but thanks for playing try again. Diaz lawyers said that he did suffer from some mental health and substance abuse problems. He described his actions as a response to childhood sexual trauma. Great yeah we all have look at. We all have stuff in our past. Most of our childhoods aren't so great. It doesn't give you the excuse to trick women into changing your diaper. You weirdo now. This diaper changing situation seems like a sexual fetish. Am i right. it's a sexual fetish. There's so many strange fetishes you remember the genitalia mutation fetish that i covered in a story when a guy agreed to get castrated stranger at a hostile i think the diaper fetishes somewhere around there but not to the extreme and what a strange thing to trick people into doing. I mean it's a brilliant plan to get someone to come over your house and change your diaper. But i mean you could have used. You could done something so much more fun. Like had them come over and feed. You cheesecake something like that. That sounds like a great time. Santa claus infects dozens at an aged care facility. The corona virus pandemic continues to wreak havoc in europe. As you know and now a man dressed up as santa claus is found to be behind a worrying outbreak. in belgium. there are now seventy five cases linked to this elderly care home in the belgian town of mall just days after the quote superspreader. Santa attended to spread some christmas. Cheer will spread some more than christmas. Share the man was dressed as saint. Nick it says here. He attended the home last weekend he went on to infect fourteen staff members and sixty one residents my goodness. This guy is a superspreader santa. Please don't come down my chimney. santa. I don't want you the mayor of mall vim cares told the belgian media that it was a very dark day for the care home is it'll be all hands on deck during the coming week. It was made with the intent of course but it went wrong. It has been a very dark day for the daycare home. It is a very great mental strain to bear for the man who played saint. Nicholas that day as well. As for the organizers and the staff. Why didn't you test saint nick before you let them in an elderly home center. I don't understand that at all. What did you show up. Oh he's wearing gloves and a beer. That's enough protection. Come on in buddy. What is wrong with you. You gotta protect the elderly. An aged care facility. These are very very vulnerable locations. You got a screen. Everybody that goes in there. The family and of course saint nick. I don't care if he's saint. Nick he's a saint. You gotta take his temperature. The aged care facilities says masks were worn by the residents and the staff but the photos later showed that that was not the case. Initially they said that the rules have been followed but then straightaway receive photos from the families of residents where you can see that. This was not the case. People were not wearing masks with the santa taking photos with the santa maskless were some of them sitting on his lap. Oh no you sat on a superspreader. Santa's lap disastrous. Thankfully everybody at the home that has the corona viruses suffering only mild to moderate symptoms and healthcare workers from antwerp province. In red cross employees have been sent in to bring the outbreak under control. Well who's gonna take that santa under control. He can't be going to homes. Christmas eve is right around the corner right. This guy's not allowed to go out into the world and spread it around. We got testy santa. This and while we're at it. Test the easter bunnies as well. I don't want to easter bunnies coming around hiding eggs. That have this. I'm very worried about the holidays. These days as you can tell of course stories like this are just adding to the santa anxiety that the children are already fearing already experiencing as i covered in a previous article. Santa cova anxiety is real. The cdc needs to do something about this or otherwise..

"Degree in. Are you. I'm doing pretty good, so we're ask questions that will help potentially start thinking about purpose. First Question I have this. What's most important to you in your life? For me I would say it's the people I surround myself with people that inspire me and they will always support me people that make me feel while and make me feel loved in good. How do you? Define purpose what purpose to you. Purpose Wow When you find that thing that makes you like yet. This is where I needed to be this is that was the gaping hole and it's full now. I feel like that is where purposes. I guess that's how you can define purpose yeah! Go to that. Are you in your purpose? Right now, yes. I definitely feel. I mean I am not the biggest fan of quarantine because they don't get around all the people that do inspire me. But I do feel like getting on the phone people and Always giving it my all. That is purpose for me to be respectful inclusive kind. Yeah! That's my purpose. In our households and the African tradition of Santa, Cova literally translates to mean to go back and fetch it like Oh. Hey, what does it look like to help someone in need? What does it look like? When challenge arises, do you falter or do you support? And even though now the language we use the Buzzword we use is purpose. That wasn't really the language in the household. It really was around responsibility to give back. Adrian Michael Green is an author diversity trainer and the Director of school success for Project Wave Finder an organization, helping adolescent strengthen their identity and sense of meaning in their lives. For our show Adrian Michael, spoke with one of his former students and try to science based practice designed to help young people, explorer and gain focus on their purpose Adrian Michael thanks for joining us on the science of happiness. Deeply, excited to be here especially during this time of challenge and difficulty. For this time that we have together, thank you. You work on, and you really have devoted your career to one of the hardest problems in society, which is focusing adolescents on their own personal purpose. I'm really curious like. How did you get to that focus in your own life? How that developed? Just been inherent to say okay. Let's sit down and figure out. How can we navigate difficulty and not just difficulty, but in the midst of this world we live in your responsibility is to do good in school. That was like just being in our brow of Hey, your job as a young person is to go to school and get an education, and that's been the mantra and the the black community always of Hey. Education as a practice as a form of freedom education has always been that vehicle always no matter who you come from your beliefs, ideologies, but I think. The surrounding atmosphere there isn't that space and I think that's the challenge. We are not just today, but historically how can we provide questions? We call him big questions and the sad thing is. They're not big. They should be you know the ones that you're asking and riddling off to all people every day, because even the students. Berkeley when we use the work of way finder with them. They're like. Wow Nebraska. ME. No one has ever asked me these questions. What kind of question questions like what are part of your identity? You know what is your story? What can you learn about yourself from other questions like what matters to you? And why do you care and those kinds of questions are part of the practice you chose to do for our show. It's called talking with teens about purpose, which is pretty much your job. Can you walk us through it and practice? Is You know a five to forty five minute conversation with a young person about purpose and. Six questions that will lean into their life, and you know what's interesting is I chose to? Write out the questions and sent them to a student, and the student responded, and then we jumped on call, and when I tell you that was the the most powerful. Experience. That I've had lately. I'm not just saying it was. It was real, so that's simple. Questionnaire really jumpstarted. Something's special. So who did you do the practice with? Jaden Moore who was a sophomore at Colorado Academy in Denver Colorado, where I used to be a teacher. And I hadn't talked to Jaden in two years. I taught her when she was in seventh grade. I think we've talked for about an hour and a half to be honest I said. CAN WE JUMP ON ZOOM call? And then about a few days later we engage in this really beautiful conversation that just reminded me of the importance of face to face, even though through zoom right now face to face, communication is so not just healing, but important for both parties. If you were to look back at your life. How you want to be remembered granted say you live a long long long life. What do you want people to say about Jaden more? I would like people to say that. I gave my heart in everything that I did I loved everything that I did and I would also like to be remembered as the person that try their best to be fair, but to also not pass judgment on other people. I think most special parts were how gentle she is with herself, and knowing that this is her sophomore year, and she herself is trying to navigate what it looks like to be at home by yourself in terms of like yours, your school experience and still be connected to your peers, and still do your class work, and still be a great thoughtful daughter. You know all these things are happening in real time for her and the way that she has been navigating. It hasn't been inspiring to say the least. What were some of the questions that really jumped out at you? In terms of producing really good conversation. I think one that stands out. The most was the question that. Sparked around. What does it mean to have a good life and be a good person? To be a good person, you have to be truthful to yourself. Always be willing to learn more. Experience More to. Step over people's shoes and to to be selfless. You have to stay true to yourself if you wanna live life to the fullest. Dating where does your drive to stay true to yourself? Come from. I was bullied a lot in lower school. Actually and I would try bake my way out of everything all the time. I remember it very clearly. And in middle school I was like I'm not doing that anymore. I'M NOT GONNA. Keep letting myself do other people expected me. That's not how I, WanNa live..

"The reds continue their series at Dodger Stadium tonight. And I think this is a very very appropriate program. Who in your estimate is the greatest Los Angeles dodger. Of all time. It's tough. Lot of great players. I'm gonna go. I'm gonna have to go a sandy Colfax your. Yeah. There was a year. And you look at sandy Colfax at first the first game I ever went to a dodger game Santa Cova pitched against one merit show. I think it was nineteen sixty six went was my dad, and he actually had a no hitter in the seventh anyway had to leave the game because I had Eric, but what I had an ear infection. It's a long story, and I left my sweater at the game. And my mom got upset with my dad, and I thought they were going to force. But it just to call your mom about it was because that's what our costs. Obviously it was.
