And he's around like clinically. He was dead other workers jumped in to save him and they're able to bring out. Rescuers ended up resuscitating him and he spent some time in the hospital before running. Back and going back to his family he lived through it which is absolutely crazy he literally clinically died and was resuscitated. And after this experience it changed him like he went back to his family with renewed devotion and with his wife ludmilla. He had two sons his sons eventually got married and sergei with constantly talk about his sons and daughters in law especially when they had his grandchildren he would frequently babysit. He would constantly be visiting and then he taught them how to change diapers waddell babies unfortunately shortly thereafter. He began to experience a constant cough and some minor throat pain. It was discovered sergei.

In dropbox. that is causing problems. And so i have had to quarantine my writing computer from any kind of network access. So that's all of the work that i do doesn't get messed up the only other computers that i have our laptops were running the betas. And so that's why. I'm talking to you from the beta right now. Yes so our last episode was the thing that finally clued me into. Hey buddy you've got some problem in your system and you kept texting me. Like where's the file. And i kept checking on my writing computer which is also the podcast computer and seeing files there. It says uploading. It should be with you any moment. Mike but as are increasingly frequent messages conveyed to me. The file was not showing up. This always happens when. I need the fall quickly and i didn't need the fall. Quake clay after. I lost episode because we were under a time. Crunch because i wanted to start editing straightaway which is one of the worst things you can do like with the way the island is show that we just had the conversation no enlist literally going to listen back to all of it immediately which is like ours saw. It's nice to have a couple of days. At least which also i will say like i feel like it fits better like after a couple of days when i come back to that episode and the only as some of it kind of refreshing. I've also like my brain has been working on it a little bit more. And i find that i'm able to immediately. No departs that. I know didn't look in a way that i don't get that off the for some reason. As far as i was able to reconstruct his incident is that i keep a local copy of all of dropbox files on one of these one of these giant pegasus things. That's under my desk. In one of these like we can hold fifty terabytes of data kind of drives stay spinning drives us. Ssd's i dunno. They're those funny shaped other drives. I only seen server stuff. I don't actually know if they're spinning drives on the inside or if they're ssd's on the inside to she'll pakistan they sing. Make any noise. It does. But it doesn't make spinney hard-drive kinds of noises makes electrical kind of noise. And so i'm going to guess they're solid state but i don't know for sure but so precisely you've now identified. Where does the problem began because it does make noise. I've wanted to have it outside. The acoustically separated writing computer. Which means that. I need to run a wire from the pegasus to the computer but of course i also have a standing desk and so i set up the situation so that the wire could reach the standing desk with stuff. Great really good really good stuff. And this way the pegasus drive could be outside the little recording booth. That i've made and also i could raise and lower the standing desk as long as i was using the preset memory heights for the standing was the issue with having your massive storage solution the cable for just under slight tension constantly. We'll stay with that problem. That wouldn't issues well and it hasn't caused any issues my entire quarantine ear. Yeah but fuck for our last recording. I was attempting to redo some of the wires behind my desk. And while i was doing that i thought oh i need a little bit more space under the standing desk while working here. And so i- press the button and right out popped the cable now dropbox running at the time and just to give give people a sense of the scale of the thing. I check this morning and i have twenty terabytes of data in about a million files in my dropbox system. That's a low terabytes. It's a lot of terabytes. it's a lot of files obviously. That's partly because i'm sharing documents with the bunch of people and like people that i work with and so there's like there's just a ton of stuff in there but what happened is after the cable got pulled out. Well i plugged it back. And i thought hopefully nothing bad happened but obviously something bad did happen. Because dropbox started to re-index the entirety of those twenty terabytes and million files. So do you have. I just wanna make sure. I've got this right. So you have this stuff on the pegasus drive and that's going up to dropbox as well. You know it's all in dropbox. What's on the pegasus drive. The pegasus drive is where. I have dropbox folder. I've told that dropbox folder. Ooh everything seemed locally right. Okay and then on your machines. You're doing that like download during the selective sinking thing. You selective sankoh. Do you use the same thing so well. I'm chump slightly changing the way. I work now because of this very problem but previously i was using selective sync where you can tell it. She needed to calm down twenty two days as after she vanished Sherry papina turned up one hundred fifty miles away from her home she was found in Yolo county around four. This is near county road seventeen a female motorist Chris Allison Sutton called police upon seeing a frantic woman roadside waving what she believed to be shirt now. Keith Sherry has never made a public statement statement. She is never she's not even appeared in public at all about this and the sheriff's office the Shasta County Sheriff's Office. They've only really addressed any of these circumstances regarding Sheri's ordeal possibly because they feel they've been forced to because of Keith's public statements we'll present what he says what key says and then we'll address. What if anything thing we actually know to be true so I'm GonNa paraphrase some of this stuff the follows but this is what Keith told old twenty twenty about Sheri's release? He says that she was bound that she had a chain around her waist. She had a bag over her ahead. He says he can't remember if it was her right or her left arm that was chained to the chain but one of her ours ars was chained to the chain and then the other hand was chained to something inside the vehicle and to be clear the interviewer wants to clarify and says this is to make sure that she didn't jump out of the vehicle to which he says yes now. He says at some point they hey cut something to free her restraint that was holding her to the vehicle then they pushed her out and they drove away Sherry had one hand hand free and took the bag off of her head and at this point. She has no idea where she is. She runs to a house to which she doesn't. I'd say she says to him that it didn't look to be like a good idea so she then ran to another building but couldn't get inside the building and that's when she chose to run to the freeway and how far away is she found from her actual home a hundred and fifty miles so quite a distance yeah and he goes on to tell twenty twenty that she's you know she's screaming. She's Coughing Ping. He says that she's coughing up blood and screaming trying to get people to stop you know get a vehicle to stop so they can help her but she tells him that she thinks that because of the chains the chain wrapped around her that maybe people thought she escaped from a prison or or escape from somewhere that you know the she was a bad person and maybe that's why they wouldn't stop so so she purposely tried to hide the chain to try to get somebody to stop and eventually we know that somebody did stop why I guess she was severely beaten as well aww she had a broken nose and she had bumps. It seemed like all over Faso that this could be an you know. I don't know if there was any dried blood blood or what the bruising situation would be but that that could startled somebody the twenty twenty broadcast they played a radio transmission that that summoned the ambulance to the scene where Sherry was found. You can hear radio chatter but what what I heard in there says attention station eight unknown medical problem. It's going to be north on. I five female needs medical attention. She is heavily battered attard. It's going to be some sort of assault now. Keith after the phone call he rushes to the Woodland Memorial Hospital this to see his wife Life Sherry. He says when he got to share his room he was horrified. He told Good Morning America quote nothing could have prepared me for what I was about to see upon my arrival at the hospital nor the details of the true hell I was about to hear my first sight of my wife in a hospital bed her her face covered in bruises ranging from yellow to black because of repeated beatings the bridge of her nose broken her now emaciated create a body of eighty-seven pounds was covered multicolored bruises severe burns Red Rashes and chain markings her signature long blonde blonde hair had been chopped off she had been branded and I could feel the rise of her scabs under my fingers and quote the Shasta County Sheriff's office well their information has been much less detailed than that of her husband and authorities actually expressed frustration that Keith revealed so much information to the media right because this is ongoing investigation so he says that her her injuries the way he describes it. This is pretty severe stuff right. Yeah the the thing that would kind of go against that is is this regarding the severity of her injuries. Sherry Pechiney was released from the hospital and went to a hotel hell with her husband that same day right and this according to the sheriff she was treated for her injuries and released just as someone would be see if they had sprained an ankle. That's what the Sheriff said Yeah but the Sheriff did say that they were were ecstatic to report fort that Sherry did she was located and had been reunited with her family right in but to be on the side of Keith and his wife look at some of these brutal. Oh cooperative and courageous in the intense and traumatic interviews with investigators he said Sherry reported the following. She said that she was abducted by two Hispanic women in a dark colored. SUV with large rear windows she had no other description of the vehicle goal and she could not identify on any video surveillance footage taken in the area around the time of her abduction note that the sheriff's chiefs office never came out and said that Sherry was definitely abducted while on her run we know that to be believed to be the case ace by her family beforehand all right. So what else have we done. Sherry only gives the officers a let's say vague description seven of her abductors right and she went on to tell police that she avoided looking at them so they would not beat her and that her head was covered for or some of the time that she was held captive and we don't know how dark it was in this place or anything yeah yeah there again. We have vague descriptions of everything because we're hearing this. This is what Sherry tells the police and this is what they have chose to release to to the public. She says that one of the women note. She says that she was abducted by two women one of the women had a long curly hair are thin eyebrows and pierced ears. She had a thick accent and she appeared to be between twenty and thirty years old about five foot put five inches tall suspect number two according to Sherry was older. Maybe forty to fifty years of age about five afoot seven and had straight black hair with some gray she had thick eyebrows and pierced ears both were armed with handguns John's. She said that the kidnappers drove for about two and a half hours non. Stop on the first day. The kidnappers spoke Spanish most of the time the female captors were the only two people with whom Sherry had contact with for the duration of her captivity but Sankoh confirmed this she was bound with this restraints when she was found and Jackson the other officer said that Sherry had been branded on her right shoulder older after and appeared battered and bruised they they actually think this branding was something like actually said something yeah yeah. The description I read was that the brand appeared to be a message rather than a symbol but whatever it is. It's unclear what it what it's intended the to be. I think they know what it is or at least the the rumors that I heard is they know what the messages they're not releasing that to the public okay I I had saw that it was illegible. They couldn't make anything out of it but I don't know that to be true so I don't Wanna I don't WanNa steer anybody the wrong the other way I mean that's pretty creepy that somebody would brand you and not just brand new with some symbol but some type of message Sherry told investigators is that she was not sexually assaulted. we do have investigators. That Dick did confirm that Sherry's hair was shoulder length when she was found now. I do want to point out that a lot of people suspected Sheri's exceedingly long hair was actually extensions that were may have just been removed. the the thing here to give the best description to those out there listening is that when she was found her hair was not what I would call short. It was just shorter it was it was shoulder length at the time now Sherry told detectives that just before she was released she could hear her captors. Having an argument it followed by a gunshot she said the younger of her abductors then took her from the room where she was being held captive drove her down a winding road and dropped dropped her off near interstate five a be on the lookout immediately went out for a dark colored SUV with two Latino Tino women but everyone acknowledged that in California that description well it didn't go very far on the day after Sherry was found her sister held a press conference and she was reading a statement that was prepared by Sharee and Keith

Ukraine president's party leads ahead of parliamentary vote
"In April laniers Alinsky swept victory in Ukraine's presidential election it was a curious case of life imitating art misters Alinsky was the comedic star of show called Servant of the people I mean which depicted a regular guy swept into the presidency with a message of change once in power misters Alinsky wasted no time guy over what's going on in his inaugural speech. He said he would dissolve parliament and hold early elections. The vote will take place on Sunday on the ballot. This time is Mr Zielinski. Namesake Servant of the People party polls suggest it'll make a strong showing he needs it too if he's going to make good on his promises to Ukrainians frustrated with the old guard some of that old guard must be voted out of parliament in the Ukrainian system. I coalition in parliament so despite his victory presidents Alinsky has had pretty limited room for maneuver. He's been saddled with essentially okay the par Shankar government his efforts to make progress in terms of lawmaking have been stifled and so he's been restricted to sort of symbolic steps and I think he wants to take the real lovers of power but I mean can he what what sort of political influence dizzy hat I mean I I understand. He's a good sort of figure for people to focus on but do you think he can gather the political will he needs so if the polls are it'd be believed his party serving of the people is polling somewhere between forty and fifty percent some even in thinking might be able to gather pure majority regardless of whether they crossed the fifty percent threshold or not hill likely have the largest block in parliament and the dominant position in whichever coalition he chooses to form and in part it is a reflection of what people have seen in him so far he's made a series of sort of symbolic steps things like canceling a military parade and instead paying bonuses to servicemembers reducing the number of the presidential staff announcing plans as he had promised during the campaign to move the presidential administration from its old imposing Soviet headquarters. These are things that have signaled to voters that he's serious about change and so far Ukrainians are choosing to believe but I mean the single biggest thing they went to believe is that undue influence on the government by all the guards and the like will go away I mean does he presented credible chance of that exactly and this is the rub as always in Ukraine where the political system is under the grip of oligarchs. Mr Lansky has faced questions about his ties to one oligarchy in particular eager Colombo ski who was the owner of the T._v.. Channel on which Mr Leonides comedy shows ran in recent years when you take a look at the list of candidates for his party it seems to be a real l. sort of grab bag of genuine young reformers and political novices looking to make a mark for the first time old friends and associates from his previous life as an actor and folks with some questionable ties including two oligarchs so the parliamentary list is in some ways manifestation of Lewinsky's desire to be everything to everyone and the question will be if Mr Zelinski does manage to gather a parliamentary coalition and form government. What kinds of laws will start to push firsthand? How directly will he challenged the oligarchy interests? It's still largely controlled Ukraine. So what exactly is he planning to do to address those concerns. There's a potential prisoner exchange in the works and that would be certainly a signal of positive movement and perhaps assign that the two leaders are engaged in a more constructive dialogue than in the past but at the same time Lansky will have to fight off horses domestically who will accuse him of being too nice as it were to folks in the east of getting to engaged with Putin and that will present challenge for him going forward and so all told what chances do you give him move overturning public opinion of reading the government of undue influence of stabilizing the economy of normalizing relations with Russia. What what odds do you give success in terms of the symbolism? He's already had some big successes his figure his person in in and of itself represents a new Ukraine a post Soviet generation or generation that didn't make its name and it's money in the murky division of assets after the fall of the Soviet Union the Ukrainian populace at large already beginning to have a more rosy outlook about the future about the direction of the country the downside is that if he can't fill that shiny new form with the content of governance that could be real disillusionment and he'll be up against deeply entrenched interests and forces throughout out the bureaucracy throughout the economy throughout the state know how to run this system and how to work this system much better than the former comedian turned resident.
