Outbound I can now I think you're going to be diverted and Arizona avenue if you're not going to take that up to Macarthur boulevard and then take Macarthur boulevard out into the free state of Maryland on the rest of the district roadways. We appear to be in good shape. Maryland, there's a work zone westbound 50 coming off the bay bridge heading toward Annapolis, the work near sandy point state park, and it takes you to bay Dale drive, and it's a right lane to get mine. And then there's I 66 in Virginia with the multiple work zones westbound in 5 different spots mind you between Leesburg pike, which is exit 66, and suddenly road, which is exit 47. Yes, it's 19 miles of roads where at some point you're going to be down to single file traffic trying to get through all of the work that they're trying to do on the expanding I 66 project. And then eastbound is you've got your own set of headaches after 28 cerebral heading to the fairfax county Parkway, the left lane gets by and then east bounders before and after route 50, right lane gets by, the I 66 express lanes, the transponders should be active if not, they're going to be soon. We'll start with a little good news coming out of Virginia right now. That's kind of hard to come by, but here we go. Southbound sadly road, after balls Ford road to crash, now cleared so nice, quiet lanes now, south of I 66, each direction on sadly road. That is the good news. Now we get to I 66 and it's not good there. In many, many delays through many, many work zones westbound beginning at about Leesburg pike exit 66 and not relenting until after you get past the day until you get past suddenly road. Everything westbound is really jammed up right now with at least a left or a right leg getting by, follow the leader to get around if you must drive this and if you don't have to don't or find another route to get around, route 7 and route one 23 or route 29 and route 50 some combination thereof to get you from the beltway all the way out as far as bonanza is. East boundaries you've got work here 29 Centreville with a left lane getting by and then you've got the work zone before and after exit 57 for route 50 and that should be a right lane to get by. I 66 express lanes between 29 gainsville and 29 centimeter are open and they may be charging for them now. They were scheduled to start tolling sometime around midnight or sometime on this Saturday the 24th and you will need an easy pass or an easy pass flex to negotiate those lanes between 29 Gainesville and 29 in Centreville. On 95 the northbound work before and after film with the right wing getting by there and then north bounders after Quantico exit one 48 or check that before aquatica, exit one 48, it's a right lane blocked by the work. Beltway traveled, the inner loop between route 50 and I 66 down to a left lane to get by and then after Georgetown pike, the inner loop loses the right lane all the way to the GW Parkway for work, Maryland, the work zone off the bay bridge, westbound on 50 heading toward Annapolis after sandy point state park all the way to bay Dale drive. No relief inside, however, after nutley street heading toward the capitol bellway should still be a left lane getting by. Extra caution on the merge from southbound nutley street onto eastbound 66 because I believe you still have no merge area there. It's going to be right into traffic and that's always very dicey. Crash activity on three 95 northbound should be relegated mostly if not completely to the right shoulder before seminary after that you are good in Maryland. On the capitol beltway, the outer loop works zone after river road should be two to the right getting by. Quickly back to Virginia, our interloop works on after gallows road heading toward I 66 there picking that one up. Now, but it is still at least one right link getting by until the cones disappear. Back to Maryland, now two 70 northbound, the crash was near 28 and was over on the right side and clear what remains there. They were looking for a new crash northbound BW Parkway near 100 with caution for what may be lurking in the darkness. The work zone continues coming off the bay bridge westbound heading toward Annapolis after sandy point state park, single right past the works and we are also working near davidsonville road where they were blocking the right through lane plus the off ramp at exit 16. The inner and outer loop in Maryland or fine actually no reported delays earlier issues we had on 95 northbound, mostly resolved one still unresolved we understand is going to be north down 95 before one 75 had one go off the road over on the left side and had some officers there to figure out how to pull that one back up onto the roadway evidently. On 50 across the bay bridge two lanes in each direction to it from the shore on what for many is the last weekend of summer at least for Maryland school students it is. On westbound 50 coming from the bay bridge heading toward Annapolis, the work after ocean oceanic drive and sandy point state park right lane getting mine. And then after Annapolis, as you get closer to exit 16 for davidsonville road and route four 24, the right through lane and the off ramp blocked by work on the Virginia side on 66, all your works on still there is a little sluggish getting through the works on westbound before you get to one 23 right side right lane I should say getting by extra caution on 66 east bat as you make the merge from southbound nutly street onto eastbound 66, there is no merge area there because you had to truncate everything because of the work zone. Now up on two 70, a very slow now headed north of route 80 urbana passing the monocacy and headed up toward 85 Bucky's town pike. We should be getting by the work so in single file to the left and again you may find one or both of the ramps off of two 70 north to 85 block now as part of that work sense, so we're keeping an eye on that have not heard yet from the front line of that has been confirmed. Traffic and weather on the 8s and when it breaks over to rich hunter in the WTO traffic center. All right, for the moment, works on demand in place eastbound 66 between route 50 fairfax and nutly street, single file right get you buy, still no visual evidence that they have started to pick that one up. They are picking up the work that was between nutley street and the bellway blocking just a single right lane. They are backing up and getting the barrels out of the roadway, so that one's out there for a little while longer 29 between sudley road and bull run post office road looks like there is still out there for the moment they're alternating traffic through that paving project. Now, over on the eastern shore, westbound 50 just after the light at four O four, again, the crash involving the jackknife and overturn track the trailer remains, but traffic does get by to the far right using the sort of the on ramp from four O four to go west on 50 and also the right shoulder as well. They occasionally stop traffic there as they're cleaning stuff up. There is a good deal of debris out there so they're gonna probably be out there for a while, but again it is westbound and fresnel traffic volumes light enough, not causing a big headache yet. Beyond that you're in good shape getting two and across the bay bridge, the paving between sandy point state park and bay Dale drive in the process of clearing from the left side so you should have all lanes open soon, but keep in mind you are dealing once again with rough pavement there and also a lot of dust getting kicked up so be careful. All right, traveling north then on the Baltimore Washington Parkway, the authorities are out with the crash northbound on the Parkway on the ramp to the outer loop of the bow by may have that ramp shut down temporarily as they try to sort things out so again you'll have to continue north on the park where you can not exit onto the outer loop and ran from southbound to the outer loop is open. Now if you're traveling on the Parkway itself between the Baltimore Balboa and the capitol bell you look good and inside the beltway no worries there as well headed down toward the district mine. 50 again, you've got the work sense. First on the bay bridge, westbound span blocked eastbound carries two way traffic, one lane for each direction I traveled, delays there have been brief, then it's the paving milling and paving between sandy point state park and route to Ritchie highway where you're down to a single rat lane through the construction, and then finally westbound the exit ramp that takes you to four 24 davidsonville road, that remains closed as a result of a work done as well. Three 95 north into the district passing west Potomac park and headed around to a point just beyond the third street tunnel, single file left get your body works out, keep in mind the exits to go to main avenue Southwest and into the northbound third street tunnel both of those are blocked as part of the work. 7th street, no access to the northbound lanes of three 95, that are on ramp, closed as part of the work as well. Updating the situation in Maryland on southbound 95, the last of the three convoys that were stopped in the area has started to move again. Southbound 95, they were stopped in the three right lanes near one 98. Now they have gone on the move and they are pulled over to the right shoulder before the exit for the inner county connector, Maryland 200. So while you're going to get the distraction with the flashing lights from the police that are there and from all of the vehicles in this convoy on the right shoulder all the travel lanes have been reopened so that delay should ease no delays on southbound two 70 where they were no delays on northbound 95 in Virginia, passing the fairfax county Parkway where they had been both of those groups went on the move. Now we also have the delay on eastbound 50. The delay on eastbound 50 in Maryland is before Whitehall road trying to get into sandy point state park. The ramps are backed up to sandy point, the roadways around sandy pointer backed up. They have not reached capacity yet, or at least we haven't heard that they have, so you should still be able to get into sandy point in that delay eases as more time goes on. We also had a report in Virginia north libro at one 23. There had been a down tree in the roadway so expect the redirection. Of course, numerous closures in the downtown area are trying to get downtown due to the 4th of July festivities. So just be aware that you're probably going to come into some road closures if you try to drive around that area, your best bet is probably just to take metro, which is open till midnight. Well, in Maryland, if you're en route 50, this is eastbound 50, the delays are back near bayhead road after cape saint Clare and saint Margaret trying to get to sandy point still seeing delays getting into sandy point state park they are still allowing people into sandy point state park if you've been wondering that we have not gotten word that they are at capacity, but saying you're going to find that backup where you at a slow crawl once you get past there, if you're not trying to go to sandy point, it looks good across the bay bridge in either direction. Now we are hearing from several callers about several different convoys moving through the area when you do come upon them. They are crawling barely moving in the lanes that they are in and that is starting to cause a bit of a backup. If you can get around to do it, if not, just pack your patients to be behind them as they drive through the area right now, we're seeing a little bit of a delay on southbound 95 where they're approaching the exit to one 98, southbound two 70 is also a little slow after three 70 passing shady grove road trying to make your way toward 28. Those colors there were reporting that they were across all of the lanes causing the very slow backup behind them. Also reports of a crew along southbound 95 in Virginia but not really seeing any delays there. Now we also have the closures downtown. This is northbound three 95. You can not access lower 14th street. You can't access the 12th street expressway, southbound can not get to main avenue, so numerous ram closures there on eastbound 66, a lot of road closures in the area, also hearing reports in Virginia, north Lee wrote at one 23 or chain bridge road a tree has come down in the area, watch for redirection. At jiffy lube, it's their job to keep you moving, visit the new location and only Maryland at the intersection of Georgia avenue and route one O 8. And remember, that's a job for jiffy. "The traffic center now and Rita Kessler. One spot that we're seeing delay is this holiday morning is going to be on eastbound 50 or back at cape saint Clair. This takes you all the way to the exit to sandy point state park, the park opened at 7 people were already waiting in traffic was already backed up before 7 o'clock. So if you haven't made your trip out to sandy point, you may want to wait a bit and see if they still have the capacity. We will let you know once they do reach capacity, but that is a solid backup from cape saint Clair to sandy point. If you do manage to make it past there, like that's not where you're going, then you're going to go across the bay bridge with no problem. The westbound span of the bridge looks good as well. And no problems on westbound 50. Trying to head to the beltway. In general, any of the state parks that you would normally visit today are probably going to be incredibly full, very early. So plan accordingly. Now we also have 95 in the Baltimore Washington Parkway, running well today between the beltways. Two 70 know reported issues in Virginia eastbound and westbound 66 in good shape outside the beltway inside the beltway you're going to find the ramps from eastbound 66 to the east bounty street expressway to independence avenue and a constitution avenue, all those ramps blocked off for the district's 4th of July festivities, other closures for this include. Northbound three 95 ramp to lower 14th the ramp to the 12th street expressway, the southbound ramp to Maine avenue, southbound rock creek Parkway shut down at Virginia avenue, portions of independence and constitution are closed off a lot of those numbered streets are closed off as well a good idea today if you're going to head downtown is to take metro, which is open till midnight. President of Young Democrats of Maryland found dead
"A search for the missing president of the young Democrats of Maryland has come to a sad end. 34 year old Joseph Kitchen was found dead yesterday in his D C apartment, and police are investigating. Family members say Kitchen was last seen at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis on August 11th as they tweeted news of the death. They also asked for privacy. Kitchen worked at the Washington School for Girls, and the school is offering counseling for students and staff. The young Democrats of Maryland, which kitchen lead for eight years, wrote on Facebook. Joseph has been a passionate advocate for young people in politics, a mentor and a dear friend to all
