You could say that In that time they were the Beatles before the Beatles you had, like five or four All Stars and Peter Lawford or three All stars. Peter Lawford enjoy Bishop together. Yeah, for that long making that kind of a mark in the world that among the people they drew on and got elected President John F. Kennedy. Yeah, you know, they called Kennedy was so involved in them. They called the Jack Pac. And Frank wanted to be that president maker. You want to be that power maker? And Frank from the audience was introducing Kennedy and get him involved. Eventually. You know, Jack was there to collect a million dollars in cash the Bob guys to take back to his dad to support his campaign and the world was watching the world like They were so magnetic onstage when you have Frank and Dean and Sammy and you know they had writers. I mean, this was not. It wasn't an eye and a limp. It was they had done Sherman, whose daughter was a distributor cap to Latinos. This is amazing that Gilmore girls, right? Don Sherman wrote the act. They put it together. It was a tight act, and people said that they go to the eight o'clock show. That's why would like show it was the same show. They were doing the same act, but You'd better look, you never know it right? You never know it. It was all thought of to be spontaneous. Now. You spoke mostly to Joey Bishop. Uh, tell the story. First of all, you know of how Joey gets replaced in the rat pack. You know, Joey worked all his life to get to 25 years to get to this high point. He gets his own TV show and that he was doing Ocean's 11. He's doing another right those rat pack. Doing, Sergeant three. Frank calls him up. Frank. His son was kidnapped in Slate 63. He went through this really rough period. Kennedy was killed and he was he wanted to slow down so he didn't want to work one weekend. And they have the killed Eva Labs that him and Dean on the peace with Mobile. Gee, accounted for Chicago. Hamza. Joey, I need you to fill in for the weekend. "Of JFK and all of that. Maja Seymour Hersh's book Cash. What was the name of that head Camelot in the title, But boy that that was a book that just kind of ripped the Ripped the facade of what Camelot was all about during those Kennedy years of 1000 days, and before and even after just ripped the facade of that off. Was it called the end of Camelot? I think Seymour Hersh. So that's that's an excellent book, too. If you're interested Sinatra, there's a lot of Sinatra their book about Kennedy, obviously, but still pretty interesting. All right, so Joey Bishop Joey Bishop, He was a member of one of the most iconic show business acts of all time. You know the Rat Pack Vegas Sands Hotel. He played the top night clubs of the day. East Coast West Coast, Chicago, Joey Bishop had his own network television sitcom he hosted the Tonight Show more than 200. Times Guest hosted More than 200 times. He was a star of his own late night talk show that ran for several years, apparently pretty good in that role. He also hosted the Emmys multiple times appear to more than a dozen feature films as a star. Countless TV shows as a guest star. And apparently according to our next guest, apparently one of the most hated men in show business. Let's welcome the author of This brand new book, which I recommend Richard Alerts minutes here. The book is Deconstructing the Rat Pack. Joey, the Mob and the Summit, Richard. Welcome to Double The L, Sir. How are you? Well, I appreciate how are you? I'm doing very well. Thank you Aside, mentioned my listers. And they know this from listening to me. I'm a big Frank Sinatra fan. I like Dean. I think Sandy was immensely talented, but I never understood Joey Bishop's participation. And I wonder what they all happen to Joey Bishop. He just dropped off the scene now with this book. You can tell us. Why apparently, number one. The Ram pack wasn't four guys. I'd love to get together and party with each other. It was some sort of market employed by the Sands Hotel. Correct. Yes, it's what the two things there are five members, and the reason they got together was if the Franks natural 9% of the Sands Hotel and the Al Freedman, who was the PR guy? And the guys behind it. Who really mobsters. Guys like motel, It's and Carol Cohn and Maxie Diamonds. They all wanted to make put Vegas of the master of natural way. No. Vegas was a visitation place from Los Angeles, and they wanted to put it in New York and Chicago and Miami. They wanted to draw people from there. So what they did was they came up with a plan. Both Franks in Apsara and Frank was working with deed Mark in the movie called some Some Broad. Ain't Sammy Davis was just getting back to health. He had lost his eye and say that just that crank it helps them nursing back to health. Joey was the opening act for Frank Sinatra. And the reason the reason he was the opening act and I've heard this musicians I knew a couple guys who play the Sinatra on and off for years is that he wouldn't upstage Frank. He was a perfect opening act like a glass of milk. Eggs. That's exactly if you know he he didn't want to Don Rickles or a second green or Buddy Hackett the suck the air out, so he just warmed it up perfectly. Frank walked out. The crowd is ready for him and Joey did the best great job. From fruits of habitability mansion. Both of frown Prince is real cynical, Real sarcastic. The frown Prince. How many years did you know Joey Bishop? No, probably close to 20 years. Did you like him personally? Because it's not a flattering book. It's Ah, you know, it's a kind of a scathing book on Joey Bishop. Was he a buddy of yours? He well, he was a Philly street guys. He came from South Philly Tough Street guy worked in Chicago. A lot of the shape of reading a lot of clubs. But Joey was he had a warm up to him. He he had a feeling that he was the the spoke the blue for the ransacked and unfortunately Joey did realize that he was with Frank Sinatra. Indeed, Mark insanely. It was junior and all the films Joey looked up, You know, you like to be a part of it. And the great thing for Joey Woz. It rubbed off. Joey got his own situation. Comedy was all talk show He was big for 10 years because He was part of this wreck back. And why did he get? Why did Frank sour on him? Because obviously, when Frank was done with Joey Bishop, that was it kaput. You know, you never bite the hand that feeds you and Frank. You know what, Frank? That no matter on one time, tell me if you have a friend Frank as a friend. You don't need another friend and Joey was asked by Frank to fill in forever at the Cal Leave a lodge that Franco part of Frank. It started just kids after the in a lot of personal problems, and he asked, going to fill in for for a gig at the county of majority of mall. These demands I want 50,000 for played really 50,000 for the appearance. I want a private plane and I want this and freaks that's so angry cause here's all he did for Joey and put over the place to make him a superstar. And Joey did that woman and the trace really resented it. Not showing off. And Joe you're supposed to play Guy gives Border Robert the seven hoods. Yeah. Peter Falk at that party was possible it out. Did you wrote a book about Peter Falk? Don't you? I did. I wrote Peter Falk slates. That guy. Thank you. For Peter Falk was such a great actor. Frank loved them. And Frank Frank from Peter told me a story that Frank he went to Frank once and he said, I have He's just I look, I can't do it. Rob is the seventh foods like hired to say it all that breaks and let me see. Let me see your script. You looked at the script. He ripped out the three pages ago night after saying Oh, you mentioned the mob in the title. Deconstructing the Rat Pack. Joey Bishop, The mob and the summit. This is Richard Landsman. How does the mob play? I know about Giancana, Sinatra, the Villa Denise. Most people Chicago understand the connection, but it was the mob essentially who bestowed Frank Sinatra 7% of the Sands. Well, he got 9% and mobile Gymkhana was part of it. But it was from the East Coast with Meyer Lansky and had lucky Luciano and then on the West Coast, there was Mickey Cone. They all had cost money. If Theo Vegas and they'll have their piece of different hotels, so they wanted they want. They decided they needed entertainers We could bring in the road gamblers..

"Who doesn't love the rat pack the coolest cats ever the Rat pack and here. Is a little bit from the leader of the Rat Pack. Yeah, to be you. It had to be alright. Richard Alerts Hman terrific writer. Hey, want some really good books. One of my favorites. Favorite books. He rose beyond Columbo. The life and Times of Peter Flock Love that book. He's got a new book out called Deconstructing the Rat Pack. Show Me the Mob and the summit. All right, Richard. Good morning. Morning, Michael. How are you? Great. Great. Good to talk to you again. So I gotta ask you. You've deconstructing the rat pack here. So where these guys Martin Sinatra, Sammy, Joey Bishop, were these guys mobbed up where they controlled by the mob. You know, Frank 09% of these Sands hotel and the mob while it? No, they just was a destination point only for Los Angeles. They wanted to put it on the international map, and they and they had a blueprint. The blueprint was to get Frank and candid, chooses buddies and have this great summit. And motel. It's handled the and Carol Cohn and not Meyer Lansky. Everybody has their money invested in all these places, and they wanted to make it big. So Frank came up with the idea What his was one of the great PR guy's toe to really do a summer 28 days straight at the Sands Hotel and with it, he brought Gina's buddy. He had just Sammy had a car accident. Sammy was a good president. Is Peter Loss would have brought him a script for Ah. Movie called Ocean's 11. So included Peter Lawford. He wanted a cozy up the Peter Quill. Peter's brother, Long was John Kennedy and then jellyfish. It was was the opening act for Frank Sinatra and and get Frank brought the idea to shoot the movie the same time that they were doing ocean State the same time they're doing the 28th Day summit. And those 28 days did two shows a night and then, during the game, he shot the movie and foot 220 rooms at the Sands Hotel. They have 35,000 reservations. Exploded. Las Vegas So, Richard, let me ask you. I mean, we've all seen the Godfather and there's the singer at the wedding. And you can tell that you know where the Godfather Marlon Brando, Vito Carly on controls this singer in your research for this book. Was Sinatra controlled by the mob. Or did they respect him? Enough That they you know, just gave him his distance. And, you know, we're friends of yours, but we don't have to put any pressure on you to do anything. Yes. You know, all the guys work for for my boners, but Sinatra's definitely not controlled by the mouth. He was a businessman. He knew his business. Um, and he they respected that. And the British guy who was closest to the marbles. Joey Bishop even testified at the trial for Mickey Cohen, where Mickey Cohen had murdered a Bantam and Ron Delhi's restaurant in the Los Angeles So, you know, crank. They respected Frank respected his talent, and Dean just went his own way. He just worked for the guys, but that was it. You know, these guys, of course, were known for being the ultimate partiers and thank God there was no social media to capture it all. But all kinds of stuff was going on behind the scenes. You all have their wives. Their after made brick was with Sami, Uh, self petition Kennedy was with Peter Lawford. Jeannie was with Dean Martin. I mean, they were not out partying. They're doing two shows a value. They were filming them up during the day. And they you know the myth was there out party than that. Girls, and you know that their morning five business been trying to make a lot of money. Well, the thing about Dean Martin was we're talking to Richard Alerts. Hman. Hey, wrote the book. Deconstructing the Rat Pack. Joey, the mob and the summit. Now, the thing I always heard about Dean Martin and I get this from Sammy Khan's widow. Good friend of mine, Tita Cahn. She says that you know, the joke was Oh, Deena's drunk all the time, but that he really was not a big drinker. Is that true? Yeah, he needs to drink. Tina Martin told me he used to drink Apple. Just the stage. Demons told me One time he had a party at his house, and he went up at eight. And 8 30 at night. What was watching Westerns on TV, and when the noise came to out of this house He called the Beverly Hills police report of the party and got it rated while he was up watching Louise on TV. You know I was watching and in anticipation of your coming on. I was watching some of the rat pack videos on YouTube. And the person that really popped out to me was Sammy Davis Jr. Like what a talent and he just explodes off the screen. Yeah, no heavy had such talent. Unfortunately, body of work in film is not great. And but his When you saw him on stage, he just was a multitalented could dance and sing yet charisma. And you know, it was frayed. Dean and Sammy that just exploded the ram pack. Uh, I got to know Joey Bishop who thought he was the spoken the wheel of the Rat pack. But Joe. He was just like you to be there because these were the great talents. So, Richard, I gotta ask you before we run last question here, Sam Giancana. You bring him up. You've delved into this. You've looked around the Rat pack was closely identified with John Kennedy. The assassination of John Kennedy was Sam Giancana was the mob. Do you think involved in that in any way? Well in the book, we tell the story of a billion dollars in cash. Joe Kennedy arranged for Jack intended will be to rub off of the ranch pack of those 28 days. We did. Look at what your fiction. And that's saying Peter Lawford talks about Sami Bath showed him a billion dollars in a satchel and was given to John Kennedy to take back to his father from the guys like Mambo Gymkhana. And from boat Day lips and from Meyer Lansky so they would keep the heat off. And when Bobby Kennedy went to prosecute Mobile Gioconda That's where the serious, you know, there might have been some live involvement in the assassination. Interesting stuff. Check out Richard Lurks Mons book Deconstructing the Rat Pack. Joey, the mob and the Summit. Great stuff. Good to talk to you. Take care, Richard. Thanks so much. Well, you know, I'm not a conspiracy theorist kind of person..

I'm Dave player Frank had a special relationship with Dean Martin for over 40 years while their friendship grew, so did the bonding between their two famous families. While Frank encourage daughter Nancy and son Frank Jr to launch singing careers of their own. Dean Martin was no different. His daughter, Dina Martin, first appeared on the Dean Martin Show in 1966. She was a frequent guest performing in musical and comedy numbers with a wide array of entertainers, including Frank and his family. I asked Nina Martin, how being surrounded by Sinatra and her famous father influenced her in her stage show in Vegas and the world of entertainment. His legacy has, you know, let me let me put it this way of the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. You know, I am. And that's probably why I was named Deena Dean within a Deena Martin because there's so many things that I I do of my dad's, and it's not something that I've, you know, tried to rehearse or anything like that. It's just there. I say it's in my DNA. And now when I get up on stage, and I'm doing my shows, and I have fabulous musicians, of course, all the time, great arrangements and I do have a sense of humor that my dad had because I remember watching him when I was a very young girl. At the Sands Hotel in the Copa room, and I'd be sitting like in the front row ringside, and the announcer would say. Ladies and gentlemen, the Sands Hotel is proud to present the star of our show direct from the bar Dean Martin and my dad would walk out. He looked so handsome and he would sing and he was funny and you know in the audience should go There he is, And I knew right then that that's what I wanted to do. Well. "A tiny bit of personal responsibility and make it less difficult. It's written for a four year old Gerry in Shannon days attending out. It's not Difficult to do it correctly. Now on K F I f I am 40. Conway show Mark Thompson is with us. And Mondo sent me something pretty cool. There's a there's a Internet service out there where you can gamble. It's called Bet, MGM And if you bet a dollar You could win $100 worth of betting action if either team hits a home run during the World Series. That's a lot, but it's but it's sort of Not what it really is meant to be right. Like when you go to sign up for one of these online casinos, they always give you putting 500 bucks. I'll give you $400 with a free play. You know, so you have $900 over the action. You know, there's always incentives. Sure, Teo, So there's just a play to get publicity for MGM Bet happens to work, right guys like me. We'll talk about on the air. But its only available in 1234 and five states. If you live in Colorado, Indiana, Nevada in New Jersey or West Virginia back because it's legal in those places, too. You can gamble online. Yeah. Is that crazy? That is crazy. It almost want it almost. It's almost enough incentive to move to New Jersey. You know you across the river from New York. So what brings you to New Jersey? Radical Jones? Yeah. My wife thinks they've got a problem, but I don't know. I just don't think there's a problem. I just want to get to a place. Where wasn't such a big deal for me to wager on sports. Well, it's like when when people moved. We talked about this on the air before but when people move to Vegas You all. They always have to tell you why they're moving. Like, you know, buddies moved to Vegas right now. Well, the thing is, we're going to face all the schools are great in the waters Grade is less taxes. Cheap standard of living. And they, you know, like, if if someone says they're moving in Colorado, they don't have to explain why they're moving to Colorado. When someone moves the Vegas they have to take the stink off the fact that they're moving because they got a radical monkey on their back and they can't shake it. Yeah. How? How often do you down on this trip? I always find that you go, Mr Bo. I'm almost never almost Never. Yeah. If somebody says almost never. I never go there there every day. By the way, speaking of this, and I made a note to mention this to you. And you may have already mentioned this, although I think the news just broke today. The Palazzo Hotel and the Sands Hotel. Are likely going to be sold by that. Sheldon Edelson, who's the huge? Really? Yeah, He's a big by the way Republican donors well, big trump guy and Republican donor anyway, he's a huge casino magnet. And he's going to let two of those properties go. Wow, That's amazing. They say that there's $6 billion on that $6 billion of revenue. And those too. Is that right? So what is the plaza on what else? The Stardust and the sand sand. Start us is going to start his property. There's new hotel being built on the starters property and you know, it's really cool if you if you Google Stardust, the Stardust Hotel. The last picture of it there was taken, you know, by Google, or, you know whatever it was. It was the last show that was there. One of the last shows that was there and it was My dad and Harvey Korman. Oh, that's super cool, Super cool. It's up on the bill. Big huge billboards on the stardust. I'll check that out. And just because I like our show to be, you know your show that I'm here. I like to be accurate. The company that he runs Edelson is called Sands Corporation. The hotel's He's going to sell our the Venetian and the Palazzo. Okay, And he's also going to sell the Sands Expo Convention Center. Okay, so that but to be pure about it, and they're going to sell $46 billion, so that's the story. Wow, that's incredible. I don't get a buyer, right? Yeah, it's just a Vegas right now is in a very tricky spot. It's unclear of when Business is going to come back. It's unclear when live entertainment going to come back. It's unclear when you know you can have a casino that's going in any way resemble what it was pre covered 19. It's very uncomfortable time, probably as an investor to be getting into these things unless you've got really deep pockets. Well, we talked about this last night on the program. You know, we're paying in this country, especially because of our diets, You know, you know, we eat with shovels. You know, there's a lot of Asian countries with chopsticks. And I saw this. This Asian woman woman that wrote at Mosen the other night at the It's the Asian restaurant in Morocco, and she was eating with chopsticks and she was eating very tiny bites of noodle. Tiny bite a shrimp, tiny bite of chicken. Tiny, this tiny there's Danny. Danny. Danny. Ah, little Ah, little spinach, right? And then the guys next door were eating with spoons. And they were just you know, the two white guys. They're just shoveling it in night, just shoveling food into their mouths. And I think there's something to that, you know, take a little tiny small bites because there's a lot of Asian people want me to stereotype. Who are are not obese. And I think obesity is what's what's really hurting us in this country. Especially when it comes to Cove it you're actually right on. I mean, I think we're getting at is by extension. If you walked around Las Vegas, you'd see a lot of People in those carts. Oh, yeah. They're in those cards because they know things got a lot of hand, right? I remember seeing one of those fat guy in a card and he was driving around. A Sizzler buffet. Night. If you're in a fat cart, I think buffets air scratched from your future. Well, covert Strat. Scratch them for you. Anyway, now, right? I mean that buffet into a drive in, Sir, Could you move the car from other people Want to get Teo? It's crazy. All right. Well, very good. Well, you know, Look, we enjoyed ourselves. You know, this country had a nice run for a long time. Come 100 years and now we gotta pay the price for live on K. If it's not one Thompson born out.

"Still lean <Speech_Music_Male> mean <Speech_Music_Male> and in his vocal Prime. <Speech_Music_Male> And it <Speech_Music_Male> shows <Speech_Music_Male> in these performances. I'm <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> not a massive <Speech_Male> Elvis Presley <Speech_Male> fanatic like <Speech_Male> some people I know but <Speech_Male> I gotta say I <Speech_Male> absolutely loved <Speech_Male> listening <Speech_Male> to some of these performance. <Speech_Male> I could picture <Speech_Male> myself sitting <Speech_Male> in the showroom <Speech_Male> at the international <Speech_Male> taking it all <Speech_Male> in seeing <Speech_Male> Elvis on <Speech_Male> stage. I'd <Speech_Male> venture to Guess that <Speech_Male> basically <Speech_Male> nobody listening <Speech_Male> to this podcast has <Speech_Male> ever <Speech_Male> had the chance to actually <Speech_Male> see Elvis <Speech_Male> perform live <Speech_Male> in Vegas, which <Speech_Male> means this is <Speech_Male> about as <Speech_Music_Male> close as you're going to <Speech_Male> get to the real thing. You <Speech_Male> need <Speech_Music_Male> to check <Speech_Male> this set <Speech_Male> up Auto out Elvis <Speech_Male> live <Speech_Male> 1969. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Music> <Music> All <Music> <Music> <Music> <Music> <Music> <Music> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Male> right, last but <Speech_Music_Male> certainly not <Speech_Music_Male> least. We <Speech_Music_Male> need to talk about <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> the wrong pack <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> live <Speech_Music_Male> at the <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> Sands. I <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> honestly <Speech_Music_Male> don't think it gets <Speech_Male> any more quintessentially <Speech_Male> Vegas <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> Than This <Speech_Music_Male> Album. It <Speech_Male> was recorded <Speech_Male> live in <Speech_Male> September 1963 <Speech_Male> in <Speech_Male> the Copa <Speech_Music_Male> room at <Speech_Music_Male> the Sands Hotel, which <Speech_Male> let's <Speech_Male> be honest as a legendary <Speech_Male> venue <Speech_Male> in and of itself. <Speech_Male> The core <Speech_Male> of the Rat Pack is <Speech_Male> here for this album. We've <Speech_Male> got seen <Speech_Male> Martin. We've got Sammy <Speech_Male> Davis Junior <Speech_Male> and of course <Speech_Male> the chairman <Speech_Male> of the board Frank <Speech_Male> Sinatra <Speech_Male> is on board for <Speech_Male> this one the <Speech_Male> album plays <Speech_Male> a little <Speech_Male> bit more like a <Speech_Male> comedy <Speech_Male> album then <Speech_Male> a serious <Speech_Male> live performance <Speech_Male> album, but <Speech_Male> to be honest <Speech_Male> that's <Speech_Male> half the charm of <Speech_Male> it. There's tons <Speech_Male> of ad-libbing on <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> this album. There's lots <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> of banter <Speech_Male> Bob. <Speech_Male> Queen Frank and <Speech_Male> Sammy and Dean <Speech_Music_Male> and <Speech_Male> and lots of <Speech_Male> involvement <Speech_Male> with the audience in <Speech_Male> this show. <Speech_Male> It's very very <Speech_Male> cool to listen <Speech_Male> to Dean Martin <Speech_Male> Sammy Davis jr. <Speech_Male> They are <Speech_Male> very obviously <Speech_Male> the funny guys <Speech_Male> on this album handling <Speech_Male> the comedy <Speech_Male> side of things. <Speech_Male> Well Frank <Speech_Male> Sinatra as <Speech_Male> expected <Speech_Male> blasts out a <Speech_Music_Male> serious <Speech_Music_Male> musical performance <Speech_Music_Male> wage. <Speech_Male> There is something I do need <Speech_Male> to touch on with this <Speech_Male> album something <Speech_Male> you need to keep in mind. <Speech_Male> If you're listening <Speech_Male> to it. The album <Speech_Male> was recorded <Speech_Male> in the <Speech_Music_Male> early 1960s. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> some of the humor <Speech_Male> that pops <Speech_Male> up in this album <Speech_Male> would be <Speech_Male> considered <Speech_Male> Politically <Speech_Male> Incorrect <Speech_Music_Male> by today's <Speech_Music_Male> standards. <Speech_Music_Male> So <Speech_Male> as with <Speech_Male> other content <Speech_Male> from that particular <Speech_Male> month, <Speech_Male> As <Speech_Male> with other content <Speech_Male> from this <Speech_Male> particular day and age <Speech_Male> you really <Speech_Male> kind of need to keep that <Speech_Male> in mind when you're listening <Speech_Male> to it. I <Speech_Male> know when I listen to it, <Speech_Male> they were a couple of bits <Speech_Male> that popped up where I kind <Speech_Male> of went. Oh, geez, I <Speech_Male> don't think <Speech_Male> you can say <Speech_Music_Male> that you <Speech_Male> can't <Speech_Male> say that anymore <Speech_Male> 1963 <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> when this particular <Speech_Male> performance <Speech_Male> was recorded you <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> could it was <Speech_Male> commonplace again. <Speech_Male> I'm not saying that's right. <Speech_Male> It's just something <Speech_Male> that you need to kind of <Speech_Male> keep in mind when <Speech_Male> you're listening to <Speech_Music_Male> this album <Speech_Music_Male> song <Speech_Male> wise <Speech_Male> music-wise took <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> everything you'd expect from <Speech_Male> these performances <Speech_Male> is here Frank <Speech_Male> does <Speech_Male> an amazing version <Speech_Male> of <Speech_Male> the song Drink <Speech_Male> to Me Only With <Speech_Male> Thine Eyes he <Speech_Male> throws in a few funny bits. <Speech_Male> He changes <Speech_Male> the title of <Speech_Male> the song. I love <Speech_Male> Paris too. I love <Speech_Male> Vegas does <Speech_Male> some of his own lyrics in <Speech_Male> there. It's a blast <Speech_Male> Sammy <Speech_Male> Davis jr. <Speech_Male> Steps in does <Speech_Male> some amazing impersonations <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> performs the song. <Speech_Male> Lady is a tramp, <Speech_Music_Male> which is <Speech_Male> amazing. <Speech_Male> And of course Frank Sinatra <Speech_Male> comes in hits <Speech_Male> everyone with his Classics. <Speech_Male> I only have eyes <Speech_Male> for you <Speech_Male> and the required <Speech_Male> Vegas classic <Speech_Male> luck <Speech_Music_Male>

"Moment on the stairs where he breaks down. It starts trying here. You're so you can hear me. Gamma-ray and it was just one of the greatest nights but that showed you carl that gentleman who just talked about Carl reached out to everybody else and we we all of that to all of our friends. Keep reaching out to say. Are you okay because he was going to the toughest time of his life that I. I said I said it earlier. You know. You just got a fucking show up. It's the simplest thing most people go you know. If you need me that wash shit I mean I guess it means something to a point but if you really care just fucking show up and we knew he needed a good night right sharp. Guy Fieri broke down Dan crimes and look you need it. I think he said something like that. You needed a good night. They all came through the man. What did they surprise. Ob I've never I've never seen your blubber before we got him blubbering south. GotTa be wondering it's no I like it. I I like it outside of Shelley and Guy Fieri and Duff Golvin and all these guys come to my birthday party was like Rocco Rocko Rocko Dispirito yes. I was bang him having a good time. I it's too much. It's too much for me to the process. It's much full room of people I got you better. Thank you WANNA say how the world this is really the world the fifty and they're gonNA be left before. I give mine nine Carl. I gotcha left before I could give mind it was it was that was that was it's a lot for me even for me. It was awesome see like that. I'm not even joking rather see no real shit yeah. I'm a real dude lately about a bullshit dude lately fan of real shit but your cigarette he called me and you call me into rocks like a random Sunday afternoon. He's going city because he he wanted to tell us that it was all going wrong and he was getting a divorce and so but he's real cool about it so he shows up and we're laughing and watching football and we're just drinking. It's like three thirty in the afternoon and he was trying to get you to come but you obviously family he had hot yoga he was snorting ginger and his peers heading swan on his lap while snorting ginger so it's just me as you're on and somewhere in that we can't it didn't seem like he didn't know he was going to say it. Just seemed like a regular hell broads. We're watching football. It's not who cares Camila but we're kind of me and him are looking to each other and going this is kind of weird so they finally lost it all aimed at an intervention on me and so they he went home previously and he was on the phone with guy about some other business stuff and but he's walking into the house and the door opens and there she is with her mom and dad and their Lila started laying into him like not about ugly party and other than and we're just tired of you and we never really liked him. We're going to take all this money. You get out of here and he's telling I think I'm in the middle of intervention here but not an intervention about to slow down They're tired of me. Get out get out get out so he immediately turned around and got out and came to the city and found us and so held it surrogate two hours and screaming and then it was on after that after getting a divorce I got the dog asked us. Get it all down. She's career butthole whereas wake daydream episode and he called me after we got fucked fucked up in ribbon and we're wandering around went to great greats Papaya. She called me the next day because all that stuff about her ass. All you got to cut it out remo within then but then when he was when he was doing the switchover the the call yes. This is the story of the callback to tag to Marie. There's a tag for the parking lot and he wrote on it. Marie you really need to bleed your off lady. He was on he was with the with the parking guy and she gets it and he goes okay. What's she's screaming impounded the ticket and do you remember. I I think it was the day the daydreaming episode we're walking up the sidewalk and he's getting his last shots in because the whole divorce is going down with lawyers and and now they're just fucking Texan each other back and forth and Carl his game was Straw Straw. He was great. He was real why repeat at half the ship trust me. The final licks brule. I I wouldn't want a divorce call. I was talking to some of these guys and we all took a break in grabbed the drink and it goes to your point. Carl never wanted to be a bother author. Never wanted to be in anyone's way rarely showed that he was bombed out and depressed. Rarely I mean there was a couple of times in a bar somewhere. He would share some shit with us. Ag about the divorce thing that really got to that day. I'm glad we were because they said what. Maybe you completely a little bit off but when he finally goes I'm getting divorced. We were looking at Gerry like I knew there was something because he was kind of just a little too much the squirrel just kinda rambling around that's normally snipe. AC- advocating squirrel okay. Nobody knows sugar. Thank you know that would be flying with Carl Carl's fucking square the story that when he was a kid and George and hammer in the park near where they live and they're like kids so they're like you know whatever thirteen and eleven or whatever that age and somebody they gave him a basketball for Christmas so Carl Georgia over in the city park wherever there little neighborhood over in Jersey Newark somewhere I right right and the bullies come and steal their basketball and so like five big dudes are really good at basketball. Come and take the new basketball from the two idiots who are clearly not in the basketball and so George. Let's take it and Carl gets really mad and so he finally he runs he runs into the middle of the game steals the basketball back so now all the other dudes are Jason and they're planting some trees around the perimeter of the park so they're kind of like you know they still have the saplings and the fucking ropes so as they're catching Carl clowns up one of these trees but it can't hold his weights. It's already kind of got the ball you got. The ball in the biggest mean is due to scrapping at him from down low right and so the fucking tree breaks Carl and the tree in the bowl land on the bullying breaks the bullies collarbone so now the rest of the believes get mad and run away because this they're immediately aware something fucked up. There's a broken bone booker scream. The meaning is screaming so they have to Carl. Everybody goes home. They get the ball. That's it so oh the old tulip ever movie that sit on the bench and watch everything in the park for fucking thousand years you know eighty years old the next day when Karl comes back. They're like you're a disgruntled the they call him the score over the next three. Retali- this nobody knows that I got. I got one of these day eleven weeks at sixty days of this shit we're sitting there. He's The recliner Jerry and I'm on the couch. My God damn liberal because I know not to talk to you in jeopardy Felix Yeah No I. I do have one only because and again I met Carl through VIC. Can you guys you know like a year and a half ago. This past may my girlfriend Lisa angry woman so she's got two daughters one of which just graduated from Lehigh University. "And he was and Frank was kind of in his career was in awhile period but then he kind of had a revival in the late sixties with the the songs like my way and and when he got an Oscar from here to eternity that that that that was that was known to keep his career big that was back in the fifties he but he did become he still be was a big big Vegas Vegas Starkey we went to see you went from this he was a long long time at the sands hotel that was his hotel in the fifties and that's with the rat pack and so not too is big but then he had a fight with the sands hotel and he moved over to Caesars palace which is the big new hotel in the late sixties and he was a big big attraction there for years even as you know as Elvis was was it was big in Vegas Sinatra was still a big draw to Sinatra fought with those at the sands over his markers that his I. amply markers when Howard Hughes took over bought the sands hotel view how to use it come to town in sixty seven and bought up but Joe tells and he kind of instituted a new kind of what sort of hard headed call corporate kind of Eden what is so let's so much free standing he he was really watching the pennies and one of the things was that the big stars there got markers you know when they gambled the they cancelled with the hotels money and they never paid the markers back if they lost the only cash in the chips with Frank Sinatra what a great deal but once Hughes took over suddenly that policy was no more and Frank Sinatra asks room markers to gamble and certainly the answer is no well there was a big blow up but the fans and the result was a little fight actually effect and another it too is capped teeth knocked out the the next day he quit the sands and moved over to Caesars palace now when Elvis came back in a big way in nineteen sixty nine he looked good right he wasn't bloated or fat or anything like that he really worked hard to get in shape he was down to around a hundred sixty pounds I think and he looked really good I mean he was he at first appeared you know the set up for the Vegas show was his nineteen sixty eight December nineteen sixty eight comeback special on NBC he hadn't it was his first TV special that he starred in and this was his kind of come back to TV after after being away for quite a few years and this was the show where he was in a leather suit didn't he was sing in his old songs and he was singing new stuff and he was just look great the show did great in the ratings the critics loved it and that's with commence colonel Parker and Elvis that it was time to come back to life performing into that sort of set up the biggest engagement but he was he was just as good looking as if he ever was he was in good shape although it when you hear the recordings in sixty nine you hear how out of breath to get that to stick and and he but you know he's never affected his voice because he just had that his voice was so powerful and it didn't seem to bother his voice at all he was he might as sounded a little winded when he was talking but boy once the music started he it was all there is a clip on YouTube with all the singing are you lonesome tonight and he's like forgetting all the words well that's the famous songs that the famous number you played a are you lonesome tonight earlier that's wonderful song and old fashioned old song it was actually the one song the colonel Parker after Elvis to record because it was colonel Parker's wife's favorite song so he recorded that I think is sixty or sixty one and he performed in Las Vegas and he put in that first engagement and most nights he would perform that song and one of the last night it's not that he forgot the lyrics he purposely change the lyrics to make a joke and he he cracked itself up he started laughing he sounded like he was on drugs yeah well I to me it sounds like this the guy you know you get into a laughing jag sometimes yeah and stop he was just on stage and he could not stop laughing and it's I think it's a great moment I mean it's very if you could see it on YouTube and some people you know think it's terrible but to me it's really L. was just having a little fun and and justice you could just I kind of identify with you can't stop laughing and then he says the it's kind of charming I think you'll see his band members were looking at each other going what we do they might have been but I I I love hearing that watching that clip was he a nice guy and he was always generous yes he was one of the things I discovered in talking to a lot of people who knew him who worked with them a part of a circle is that everybody else everybody liked Elvis and they've had some problems with his drug use later on and and he he had a temper and so forth but he was basically a very nice guy he was he was generous with his friends he gave away things he was he was good with people he listens he when he was a good listener he was a reader he he he was a guy who cared about people and I think he was modest about his fame I think he was always a little insecure about his fame and so I think you know he was the case happens up grounded for a long time I like to say that you know with all the same then everything was gone around it's amazing he stated saying as he did for as long as he does quite an an extraordinary person we're gonna come back and take phone calls with you next on coast to coast AM those of you who have questions jump aboard if you've ever met Elvis or saw him.

"In los angeles and they do two things they chase down dissidents and intimidate them or or kill them and they steal technology but they are right here so this this should not be surprised so the north koreans are familiar with singapore this is not some you know mystery location they know singapore extremely well they they admire singapore they like sing singapore's orderly nature they love the fact that the the population's very prosperous and successful they don't get out of line they don't speed they don't jaywalk they don't graffiti they don't pee on on the sidewalks the north koreans feel very comfortable in singapore and the city say state of singapore which is the very firm us ally and so whatever comes their unease about singapore being a tight us ally is the fact that the north koreans can operate in in singapore because it's very orderly so at in singapore where we're land is at a premium there is a hotel these the marine partly the marina bay sands hotel and casino is owned by sheldon adelson you know sheldon adelson because he is a billionaire republican donor in las vegas guy develops hotels in vegas and i forgot the list of hotels that he has but he's he besides besides steve wynn he he's one of the major resort developers in vegas and also he he works all around the world so in singapore he has this marina bay sands hotel and casino it's three towers each tower that are there in in column so it looks like three greek columns right and they're about forty fifty stories each and then spanning across the roofs is a long wide garden rooftop area where there's there's bars there's casino gambling all this looks like a great hotel i mean i'm i'm not an architecture critic or else i'd maybe go off on something else but it's it's isolated even in singapore it's a known quantity and and it can it can be secured now what's going non in singapore right now is that the us army special operations as well as the united states secret service the cia and the fbi are all converging under a single unified command to host this meeting and this part of the reason in all likelihood.
