"We do live in a little bit of a New World now it's going to be interesting and people notice that the NBA has suspended their season right now mark Cuban said that you know above of the of the owner of the Dallas Mavericks has said this does not mean it's the end of the season it's just suspended as of now you and I were talking about well how far out with the suspension you know how far out with the cancellation of public gatherings go you what right the furthest in a year when I was looking at the one of the N. County where San Jose Sharks play bans mass gatherings due to coronavirus rates

"Well in Santa Clara county I mention the breaking news they have canceled large gatherings of a thousand people or more in Santa Clara county that is relevant to the world of sports because the San Jose Sharks of course play in Santa Clara county the S. A. P. center is right there in San Jose Santa Clara county where they hold their home games so Santa Clara county banning all large gatherings of a thousand people or more the mercury news the San Jose mercury news originally reported earlier this hour that all events at the S. A. P. center have been canceled for the rest of March but but the issue is they have then retracted that reports the mercury news again this hour reports that all events at the S. A. P. center have been canceled for the rest of March the San Jose Sharks have three home games scheduled for the S. A. P. center but over the last few minutes they have retracted that report from their story and it's very important that in times like these that we pay attention to the fine prints that we pay attention to the wording large gatherings canceling large gatherings with thousand more people that doesn't necessarily mean that sharks games will be canceled it means that fans almost certainly won't be allowed to sharks games at the S. A. P. center but the games may not be canceled the San Jose Sharks in the NHL could still decide to play those games without the benefit offense so we may see it in action in the coming days and for the rest of March the San Jose Sharks or get up three home game schedule at the S. A. P. center without fan of three of which in the month of March where again all large gatherings of a thousand more people have been bands bands by Santa Clara county so we're seeing this happen and obviously a decision like this cannot be made lightly there are vast economic impacts for things like this I mean you are canceling again large gatherings a thousand people or more so to talk about the San Jose Sharks that's three home dates where surrounding businesses bars and restaurants don't get any bounce from the sharks home games at home crowd that is three home dates in which vendors around the S. A. P. center do not get any additional revenue they'll have nobody going to their astonishment have nobody parking up for examples anyone runs parking lot near the center not affiliated with the sharks I've not been to a sharks games I don't know the exact layout but everywhere in the country of course has different vendors around parking lots of bars restaurants in the area that's not happening it says so even so the economic impacts

So I wouldn't be surprised to see them respond in a major major way. "I guess it doesn't much matter. Right. So I think that again, I think that, you know, Saint Louis to me they gotta do one thing better for sure let's stop turning the puck over the neutral zone and be better in their own. And they've got a clean that up. I mean there was three or four plays that led directly the goals for the San Jose Sharks. We absolutely have to clean that up. I have to be more strategic strategic with their approach to dealing with Carlson and burns, and you know, I'll be curious to see if they do change that strategy tonight. But you know, I can see certainly Bret Hedican around the shorts a lot. He works for the team. He's on the broadcasts. And you know. Yeah, you got Joe forton, you know, as long to you got Jope Avello who's been dinged up. You got Carlson who was at injury issues, all your. Long. I mean. Yeah, there's some concern. But you know, let's face it teams that go on to win the Stanley Cup. They usually don't have an easy ride. We have to battle through a lot of things. So you know, there's sharks team it's not too far removed from a trip to the final a couple of years ago they've been knocking at the door for a long time. There are a lot like the capitals where last year. And so, you know, I just think that you always have take a smart approach to your phone. And so we'll see what the blues tonight if they try to think a little different. No, you just brought up a great point that we've kind of reiterated during the course of our conversations this year of the similarities between the sharks and the capitol right teams that you just changed over the period of time, the the the sharks looked like a team that could be the could win the Cup early. And then what's wrong with the San Jose Sharks? And then they got hot. And then what's wrong with the San Jose Sharks? And next thing, you know, they're when the cub the capitals were kind of the same way, you know, once they got past Pittsburgh, it seemed like they were kinda kinda got things going, but then they fell behind. Three to two Tampa had come back and win game six and seven. So there are similarities where don't just when you think the sharks got figured out. They dip it and they come back, and maybe this will be caps two point. Oh with the sharks team. Yeah. You know, the capital to is like, you know, I think he guy for that team. Was nets often. He's somebody that was a more. Recent addition to that group, and you know, he has been a key guy for them, and then San Jose and their case, you know, Meyer and hurdler or wore recent acquisitions than they may be more important that group now probably they are than than than certainly like a guy like Thornton. And maybe even propels you at this point in terms of driving play from shift to shift basis. So, you know, it's an interesting comparison. We'll see how things go I mean game to obviously, the sharks have been good at winning games one at home and the first two rows they've lost game two and each of the last two rounds, and obviously Saint Louis has been a good road team. So I would expect their big push back from the blues tonight..

"It became a two-goal game. And that's something the blues really couldn't come out of in this game here tonight. Another thing just stood out the San Jose Sharks. Just really made an impact on this game. The blues really couldn't get to their game. Because a couple of really key elements as seem as they brought to the game. First of all it was a diesel simple flips every time almost the defense minister. San Jose Sharks. Got the puck not necessarily is a tape to tape path. If it's there they'll make it for the most part when the walls are jammed the middle's damn they just do nice area pass. It's about a twenty foot in the past rights, and it was on the forwards are reading it. They're going through a speed that for the Saint was Blue's really could not allow them to stay in any sort of pressure in the offense of zone, and then on the flip side sale sharks? They meet simple chips. They made simple chips for the key behind those chips work haven't speed haven't speed through the middle of the ice. We saw all night long constantly pushed up back on their heels, and you mentioned a curbs turnover just some sloppy turnovers in this game here tonight, mostly by the defense that we saw Colt break with one the hurt him out for transit on the I heard him a funky little bounce off. Vince, then skating Johannesen stepping up in having a turnover on Joe Thornton led to the Bank also careless play with the puck. And this is the San Jose team that when you make mistakes they're gonna make you pay their skill. And that's what they did here tonight. Right. What are some of the positives? Are there positives? You take out of this. Well, I think the big positive for me is the Tyler Bosak line is still going. I liked him in the second period. I really liked him in the third period they had to really solid shifts in the offensive zone. It's the blues third line. There was such an impact in the Winnipeg Dallas series. It doesn't look like they're slowing down Robert Thomas. It doesn't look like he's slowing down his speed. It looks great. You see his youthful energy is useful legs that pushed the same Jose Sharks? Defense back all night. He actually contributed to the at goal that got the blues with into at the end that's a huge positive for me. I love the idea and the attitude of Craig brooding coming out in that third period down by three goals to go back with door Bennington to me like you said that's a statement right there in itself, you're going back with the starting goaltender. We're not throwing in the towel. We have a chance to get back in this game. And you know, what the blues really takes another positive third period. I loved that there appear. They won the third period. This has been a trend team for a very long time. I don't think every game series going to go. The blues are gonna be going into the third being down by two or three. So that's the good news in the fact that you're winning third. Periods is still a very positive trend for this blues team. All right. What do you have in the Bud Light three stars of the game and a hard hat award winner? Well, it's a clean sweep for the sharks. Unfortunately, pavonis ski number three with two points number to cure. He had two goals in the SIS and team. Oh, he was a back breaker here again tonight, two goals and one assist per team Meyer. He's my number one star hard hat. I'm going to go with Robert Thomas just spoke about him. His speed pushed the defense back all night. I thought that was a huge line here for the blues here tonight. It's great to see that. There's no hangover our lack thereof hangover for them from the Dow series into the San Jose series. They are a line that is a threat. They're working together sent takes playing with energy. All good signs, Robert Thomas and that their line. You know, I look at the top two lines of the Saint Louis blues Joe. And I mean right now your top line news. Maroon Bosak and Thomas. I'm I'm curious..

And we'll see we'll see what the what the what the scans show went in. With therapists say we have this photo of you. And I shared it a couple of weeks ago you at the San Jose Sharks game. I mentioned last week like you went out and did your own open workout like you really get the art of promotion, and it's not gratuitous. You just understand that? With prize fighting comes going the extra mile promoting yourself getting people emotionally invested in your story. And you have an amazing one of this particular store you at the sharks game. What was it all about? How did it come come together? I want to put it up there. Again, that's the ambition party. And in my management, always tells me be careful to step on anyone's toes, and that type of stuff get people upset, but that's that's really where I come from. That's my angle for that area. "It wasn't ideal. But we'll take care of it now because the fights taken care of do you need surgery. I've got some games coming up. I I hope not I hope I'll be all right. And we'll see we'll see what the what the what the scans show went in with the therapists say, we have this photo of you. And I shared it a couple of weeks ago you at the San Jose Sharks game. And there's the photo right over there. What was this for and how did? Do you get involved in all of it? You do great job of representing people. Again. That's the ambition part in my management. Always tells me be careful you'd want to step on anyone's toes, and that type of stuff get people upset, but that's that's really where I come from. That's my angle for that area. Is you know, went to connected with the people doing doing unique things and being proactive for your own brand and for yourself. "While the San Jose Sharks were looking for their sixth straight win tonight hosting the Winnipeg Jets was a wild first period. Five goals scored total sharks with two jets with three. But as crazy as the first period was second period was just the opposite knows scoring and till it was almost over Donskoy lays it in Alabama, plenty of time to make up his mind and sends it on a back end right back. From NBC sports, California. But the jets Nikolai Ayler scored two goals late in the third period. And Winnipeg wins five to three Ehlers getting a hat trick with three goals on the night. Vander Kane and Pavlovsky scoring for the sharks for Pavlovsky. It was his twenty second goal of the season sharks came into the game tied with Anaheim for second place in the Pacific Division, three points behind Calgary. Tampa Bay beat Calgary five to four and a shootout. So Calgary gains one point they now sit on top of the Pacific Division with forty seven points. Anaheim lost in Boston three to one. And the Winnipeg Jets now are all alone on top of the central division with forty eight points alight night in the NBA just one night after setting a new NBA record for most three pointers in a game with twenty six the rockets lost to the heat in Miami one. Oh, one to ninety nine James harden scoring thirty five for the rockets, but the worst part for Houston. The loss of point guard. Chris Paul he left the game in the second quarter with a strained left. Hamstring rockets coach Mike dantonio said Paul will have an MRI tomorrow. We'll miss an undetermined amount of time. The only other game Dallas visiting the clippers Dallas lost one.

"The blues hosting the San Jose Sharks. The pre game at six thirty the face off at seven o'clock right here on the home of your Saint Louis blues. Hey, hey, y'all John Hancock in for Charlie Brennan, as we are every Friday, my partner, Michael Kelly is away on assignment in Mexico. And joining me right now is one of the great members of the United States Senator man who focused his leadership on getting rid of the waste in the federal government. He was a great Senator from the state of Oklahoma until he retired. He now serves as the honorary chairman of open the books dot com. A transparency group that posts online how to save tax payer dollars. Senator Tom Coburn welcomed the Camelback, sir. Good morning. How are you doing great? My buddy. My good, buddy. Matt panel just got elected Lieutenant governor in your state did fine. Young man. He's a great guy. He is a great guy. Well, there's lots of waste out there and our federal budget annual deficit in the national debt continue to spiral out of control. What can be done? Well, a lot of things, but you know, until you change the culture of Washington. Nothing's going to happen. If we keep sending career politicians. People who've been in politics before and want the position for their own ego. We're not going to solve this because nobody pays attention. I see here's what I saw. I saw people who wanted to be there for the position. And then I saw very few people who wanted to be there to actually fix our country. Yeah. And it doesn't mean they didn't want to fix our country. But it became secondary to maintaining that position. So one of the things we did with open the books is we passed the transparency Bill myself and President Obama while he was in the Senate that required the federal government to publish at all. And they're kind of backsliding on that a little bit in the last years of the Obama administration and this last year of not publishing all the bonuses. And all the salaries which they're supposed to but transparency is a wonderful disinfected. And so what we need is American people to understand that about one out over five dollars at the federal government's fans is totally wasted. About six hundred fifty billion dollars a year. I mean, it's it just seems ridiculous. You know, it wasn't too many years ago, I guess a decade or so ago that congress decided that they were going to get rid of the earmark. In a lot of people thought that would solve the problem. But there's still a lot of stuff getting funded. That's just ridiculous. It is. But remember, it's the irresponsible nature of the members of congress. They write bills appropriation bills. And then give the the give the discretion. China collectible eurocrats on how money's best. And then they go around back door and talk to the bureaucracy and say ended here. So so the fact is is congress doesn't do its job very less than ten percent of the members of congress in both parties. This is not partisan to me at all. Aren't interested in the long-term problems station our country. Which no country where we sit today has ever survived where we are in eight hundred years of economic history. So it ought to be about stopping sending career politicians putting term limits on. So they can only serve a certain period of time. And then go home. Limiting the federal government is real role and changing the commerce clause back to what it was intended. Which is what gives the federal government's power to tell people in Missouri. We'll tell you how you spend sixty percent of your state money, and that's what's happening today. So it's fixable. But you know, as long as we don't have people I'll tell you one of the great surprises and great comfort for me was Mike Bronx. Yeah. Because he he didn't have one got a little bit of political experience in the state have. But he didn't care. His deal is let's fix our country. And let's not play the game anymore. Let's go out and make the hard choices. You see? Here's the other problem. John is politicians don't wanna make hard choices because that may cost him some votes. So rather than make a heart? Joyce they'd just push skip. It. Yeah. There's a lot of that is going on Senator Tom Coburn. You term limited yourself voluntarily you decided that you were going to serve what two terms in the US Senate. And that was it. Well, I did I actually less left two years early because I became came convinced that the US Senate is not gonna fix. What's our problem? Doesn't matter who's controlling. And the US house and gonna fix our problems. We as Americans are going to have to fix these problems. And the way we do that in my opinion is through article five convention estates. What we put back the balance of power. That's no longer there where we actually go back to what our founders thought is the people that ought to be deciding most things. In political bodies closest to them. And if you think about the shift of power away from the states to federal bureaucrats who were never elected and they make decisions without any consequence to them. But under consequence to us. Things need to change. The way to change that is send people who aren't politicians to watch. It. We are visiting former United States Senator Tom Coburn from the great state of Oklahoma. It was nineteen in the early nineteen eighties. President Reagan develop something called the grace commission report and their job was to kind of go through government. He really hadn't been done on a systematic basis since the Coolidge administration where were you went through government line by line by line and eliminated waste and that they had some success with that. If we had that kind of an effort today just off the top just wasteful spending. How much money could be saved in the federal government four hundred billion the first year. Wow. That's almost forty percent of you know, what it is. So the government accountability office. It puts it puts it out every year. And if you if you add up those studies, we when we when when I forced this transparency Bill, I also forced the government accountability review every program at a continuous sequence. Every year they come up with about one hundred billion new and stupid stuff wasteful stop for fraud. So at least four hundred billion the first year at least three hundred billion the second year that's seven hundred billion at two years, and at least two hundred billion the third year. So so now all of a sudden over over three years, you're getting four hundred billion seven hundred billion nine hundred billion trillion dollars over three years, then we're at just over a trillion dollar annual deficit right now. No, it's going to be one point three four this year. Fed has already said they're going to be in the treasury has already said they're going to borrow one point four trillion dollars this year. Here's the thing that your listeners out of each concerned with. When we go to sell bonds and T-Bills we published what we're gonna do. And then people bid on it. Right. Yep. Yep. So ten years ago less than ten years ago. The number of people placing bids was three point eight times what the amount of money was. In other words, there were enough buyers have cell by three point eight times what we were offering. What it is today? I'm point six. Wow. So when that gets to zero or less than zero where people don't want to buy our bonds. It doesn't matter what the fed does. Because then interest rates are going to be controlled by people who want to loan us money. Not by us. The long term implication of the debt load that we're carrying you think about the just the chunk of the budget edge each year that goes just simply to service the debt is mind boggling, there's gotta be a day of reckoning out there. How close are we I don't think anybody can tell you that. I don't know what I know is is unethical to continue to do what we're doing by both parties. Because what it does? Is it steals a future from our kids? Well, there you have it on that note, you can learn more about this organization. Go to open the books dot com. You can sign up for their weekly newsletter. Sign a petition to your legislator. We've been joined this morning by the former Senator from the great state of Oklahoma, Tom Coburn. Senator thanks so much for joining us the river electric Kessler. God bless you, sir. Take care. Bye. Bye. All right. Jim Acosta he's out there. He's had his little credential script by the president of the United States talking about that CNN reporter, not everybody's happy about that. And our next guest would be counted among them, Dan. Shelly was the executive director of the radio television digital news association. He joins us next to talk about this Jim Acosta situation after this on camera. Robert here. Robert, somebody burned down, my she shed, no one bird done, your, she shed, Cheryl, all really Victor. Because my she sheds burning up in the backyard.
