Several San Jose Sharks Teammates Don't Want Evander Kane Back on the Team

"Craig, if you can believe that. I feel like that. We've heard that before. Somewhere with Evander Kane surprising I don't know. I guess you know what? When? When he had left to San Jose. I You know, like, okay, so I always kind of wished the best for players. Always do you know if if a guy's got off ice issues or whatever you hope that he can figure it out and You know what I mean and grow from it right? And when he went to San Jose I thought Was good for the same as that he was gone. Um, thank Yeah. But I also thought when you know when he lands there, and Joe Thornton picks him up and brings him to his house. I think, Okay, this is going to be a a new turn for Evander Kane here because he's going to have you know a good mentor there with Jumbo and Other good leaders that they had there in San Jose. And I thought, you know what this could be beneficial for. Um, So here's to hoping that You can you can sharpen up. You know, And then here we are. And so, so Kevin Kurtz has been on our show before yesterday was reporting that Players. On San Jose. We're talking about How they don't want him back. Says the team was trying to trade Kane earlier this summer, a source says, confirming a report from the daily face off. A big part of the reason for the team to pursue a deal was canes strained relationship with many of his teammates, according to several sources, According to one source. The frustration with Kane stem from the general disrespect of team rules such as being late for practices and games. And zero consequences came, which caused ripple effect with other younger players, added the source. According to another source, it wasn't easy dealing with him this season, so We'll talk about another

"Ca all right great indiaas. Grain drags anything from arthur. Arthur wants to know if we think that should be miked up more just to provide more transparency and better policing of the game now. We saw a trick the other night. Right leaps game awaiting simmons was going over to question. I guess it was a non call I can't remember who the referee was remember. No i want to say. It was eric for latte Said it was for latte but he covered his mike right now and guys. That doesn't always work. By the way people in studio audio say can cover your mic. All you want it. It doesn't it doesn't stop it. Stop it from going into the arena but the audio people and if if if there's a key open the mike is opening scatting on television so anyway. More or less. Live mics with the referees. Less and the reason so is that in a way. This reminds me of remember when knew. Shane went forty-five feet. Offside and the officials missed it. And then they blew up. The offside rule now nobody understands it right so they they took a small problem and use dynamite on it so we all know what tim peel said. And we all know about the officials management of the game. Why do you why is it more. Transparency of wayne. Simmons goes over to eric for latte tells them the weight the f. Op burlap tells him to beat it. Now they get into an argument and then they leave. How does that provide transparency. Because it doesn't all it is you wanna know more about what's going on what it a part of the game. That doesn't matter the real issue if they want more transparency in the game or better police the game and we've talked about this extensively to overhaul the way. The standard is applied to the game. That's the way you make the officiating better. Not by hearing two guys tell each other to half off. All right sean. Wants to know. Should marc andre. "Away like. I can't even really imagine but it does that. Is that a driver designed guys. That's something you aspire to. Oh yeah like unfortunately for awhile with mental health stigma the way it was. I thought my dad just it. He didn't love me but as we know he was sick. He was mentally ill taking his own life. So i use that as motivation for a while is like i'm gonna show you the man i'm gonna be but once i figured that out and i can look back in. Hindsight is twenty twenty. My mom is the emotional driver for sure. She's like she's gone from at ten when i was ten. She didn't know anything hockey now. She's like a hockey scout. She'll go to games just for fun. She's like hey. I noticed this system. I noticed this. I noticed this. You got to do this on my mom. Who are you like. You know the game better than all these idiots that comment on my instagram posts. So it's like she's she's unbelievable and she doesn't take enough credit A humble natured person in trying to do this mother's day thing for her this with tsn The special on her and she's like. "And i'll wear that all day but that's one hit in four years junior and seven years of pro now but i'm not a dirty hitter. So with that hit. They give you the major for interference. Do you hear anything from the league or your team. In the aftermath of that do they do get instruction. I hit six guys in eighteen years three of them by accident. But like do you get instruction out of that. Yeah so in this case it was a george. Give me a call and just saying hey you know. Obviously you're you're putting a target on your forehead. I said that on a podcast. I'm okay with that in. I know that's the way it is another gonna watch everything i do and i just said you know. Just be careful. That saw it's borderline late. I was able to talk about it because it was through the shoulder. And i think he's he's right about that and so yeah it's That's my game. It's like what would you. It's hard to pick and choose when to finish a cheque right like Obviously i can look at myself and say maybe there's nine minutes left in the game. Do i need to do that. But it's hard when that's my my game mentality all the time but i don't know it's it's every case is different but yeah a little instruction and a little bit of Maybe just i'm just gonna learn and get better as i go here. I'll get better at it. So curtis a couple of weeks ago brandon tannen. I've got a five game You know we talked quite extensively about the and in the aftermath of that. Sidney crosby said it and i mean when when somebody like that says it carries great weight. He said it would be nice to know what's legal hit in what's not is at a relatively common thought. Do you think for me for me. I think it's not i. I'm quick to judge things. I see what and i'm like. Yes or no because i know i play this role in and i'd get on this for so long but i think i think a lot of guys don't know i think i think you're right but him saying i think that is indicative of what a lot of guys think. Physi- saw the divide after that hit in no way shape or form. Was that hit dirty in any any planet in the universe So i think there needs to be some more Maybe clarification But that's part of the game. That's that's hockey. You have to know who's on the ice. You have to know where you are. I think shane. O'brien was talking on them missing curfew. Podcast Chose to take an extra step to get across that red line. That's that's his decision. That's him putting his body on the line for his team. And that's what players do every single shift every single night. What makes our game special. So you're going to pay the price for that. I talk about all the time. I'm i played this role. I have to pay the price for He wants to go over the line. He already laid out malcolm with a clean hit early in the game. He's gotta know that tana's gonna try to gamification when you say play this role. It's not an easy roll. There's an there's less less of the big boys around in there than there used to be. So yet your role takes you into the wake of ryan raves and curtis mc dermott who is a son of an old team mate of mine mean..

"Toronto and i am you impact of the team or you can analyze both teams of you choose. Are we at a place. of course. they're they're taught contending teams in their division. But wouldn't we're paying closer attention out around the league. Do we still see the holes in the lineup. And maybe the maturity level of the group not being there yet to classify them as taught contenders over. I think a toronto's a little bit better than edmonton. I think there are a little deeper. You get you get past the big boys in edmonton and you kinda search. And on and i think you can see the dave tippett searches too because he moves those bottom. Six forwards around a lot will is gotta devon shore. And he's got a tyler. Innocent donahue is in you know. They've tried mcdavid together with dry sidled Part they've gotta find some balance to that. But but i don't think toronto's better setup to have more depth through the top of that lineup to the one wild card for me has been mike. Smith has been phenomenal. really. I mean the. The oilers circled back to smith after they took a couple of bigger swings and free agency and there were times when he looks like he stepped on a banana peel. But man he's big. He's athletic he can he fights like oh battles and he is given them top rate goaltending and i i think that's a a plus for edmonton so far that they probably didn't think they were going to have and in toronto. Is it fair to question the goaltending in in toronto purely because of the health right. I mean jack. Campbell is being managed now just to make sure they maintain is good health. We don't officially know what the heck is going on. With with freddie anderson but it must be more than just a nagging muscle strain or something along those lines so for a health perspective. There could be other reasons why. He question toronto's goaltending is at an area. They need to look i well. We don't have the information right. So but the the most concerning part of that whole thing to me. Obviously anderson's not right. He hasn't skated. I think it's march nineteenth. He was last on the ice. The fact that you're managing jack campbell makes.

"That might lump into protection problem for seattle in just a few short months and so the the rental guys. I think their prices are gonna go up because the good teams are gonna if they want to add a player now they they might have to pay a premium for rental. You're one hundred percent right i. I'm actually at a touch on this. On insider trading your ryan francis. I mean we love ronny francis season. He's an interesting guy but he goes about his business sleuth like like he's just under the radar doesn't want to be in the media doesn't wanna do any of that stuff but exactly what you said is what's happening already. We shouldn't be surprised by that. But you'll let's say let's assume and we're gonna talk with nashville coming up here but matisse heck home all right we reported last week at three pieces are required so you wanna first round pick you want an elite level prospect but ever that is i want a third element to it right all of a sudden near that team. That's giving those three pieces. It isn't actually three pieces. It probably more like four. Or maybe even more. Because maybe one of the pieces that you've had to include in this trade was a piece that you felt more comfortable exposing right so francis might be drawn to that he will now is looking at another piece that you don't want to lose so you've got to give him something not to take that guy which is which is really what vegas did exceptionally well and they. So they parlayed it into draft choices and extra players It's going to be really interesting. The one I would say the one handicap the crack and have is that everybody just watched vegas do this. Yeah so. I felt the george mcphee and kelly macrame and gained the system. They knew the system better than the other general managers and by the time it was by the time it was over. Some teams were looking for their shoes. Because kelly george had them to. Well i gotta talk to ronnie at some point but you'll mccrimon endured split the league right fifteen and fifteen. You watch these fifteen. i'll watch. These team will compare on all the way through. Then towards the end will will do some crossover workable. Make sure we've got it covered. And i assume that the crack are doing the same. You could probably expand on that. But i'm not sure that wouldn't get you in trouble. I will say this. And i'm not even kidding. I walk into cameras office and she closes her computer. I i'd like to look over shoulder. I've tried and i can't get there so when you talk about the ron francis sleuth light stuff. Yeah yeah. I think it's i think it's permeated. I think it's everywhere you know. Who else is like that. Is ricky all check. Who has ron's ron's assistant general manager. Ricky's a lawyer Eddie all checks other and you try to talk to ricky about a player pretty soon. You're talking about the weather. You don't even know how where you started. And ricky's given us. How Joe Pavelski chose between Stars, Lightning after leaving Sharks

"Many years with the San Jose Sharks, Joe Pavelski last summer was an unrestricted free agent. He visited two teams in free agency. Tampa Bay and Dallas. Podolski, of course, signed with the stars, but he knows the lightning well. No, they're deep teams. They have good team, speed and skill on, you know they have some good defense and a great goalie over there, So there's their team that has something to prove, as well and You know, that's what I think it would make a good measure. With players like Pavelski and Corey Perry, Jamie Benn stars have a nice mix of veterans and young, rising stars. Now this is the first Cup final for Dallas in 20 years, actually it back to back years, 1999 and 2000. Tampa Bay lost to Chicago in 2015 in the Cup final and then was so close to getting there but heartbreak for the Lightning in the Eastern Conference finals in 2016 against Pittsburgh in 2018 against Washington. They lead those Siri's three games to two. They were a game away from the Stanley Cup final on Lito let it get away, and they lost both Siri's In seven games.

You know what that's the that's can be the. Only option that can be the only option are my kids can probably 'cause I was over the house. They could they could make a basketball mash, the amount of power cords around their place, and could weave baskets Stevie with them. And I can assure you when my daughter gets home for university for the summertime. We suddenly have a major shortage in the house of power chords for the iphone, where's my power card, please? I get the power cord someone. Can we get a good one? Like the one that lasts for more than six months for God's sakes, God, those things cheap did. They make them all at the dollar store. They're awful. We should launch in. We've got lots to get to on the sports side of things. The Rb computing web poll today is a pretty simple. One is the San Jose Sharks re-signing of Eric Carlson, a wise decision. It is an eight year. Deal said, it'd be worth over eleven million dollars and I'm going to have to go with. No, I think I wanna say this with the caveat and that I want the player on my team. But we're talking about whether or not this is a good contract. And there are three reasons I say this because he's just turned twenty nine she's going to be thirty seven when the deal is done so that in on a young man's game. That's concerned. Even if all things are equal, right. Then you got the health. He said surgeries, galore, yet the Matt cook stopping on his achilles. She had surgery on that. He had surgery on his ankle and had hunks of dead guy's ankle, rammed in there. And now he's just had surgery on his groin a couple of weeks ago, and that's grind problem that kept him out a lot this season. So to me, that's a trend. And every time you have surgery, then you heighten the chances of some kind of reoccurrence or if some brand new injury because, you know, you're doing things differently putting maybe your weight here instead of there. And so these are concerns for sure. And his game is always had flaws in my opinion. If he has the power of his team has the puck. There's no defense in the NHL I want more out there. But if my team doesn't. Have the puck? I mean every defenseman gets burned. But this guy gets burned too much for my liking he's on the wrong side of the puck too much for my liking wrong position too much. Anyway, keep it in context. I do want the player on my team talking about whether or not I want this guy for eight more years at eleven million dollars a couple of things Steve, maybe maybe he should get the dead guy groin. Re, you know, done when dead guy, ankles, maybe the dead guy groin to fix them up. That's gross. Would you get a cadaver crap from cadaver put into your body in a second? It would be an improvement on my shit. I'd go and I'd be an upgrade pal. That would be. Stuff. I go going by the waist. Why do I keep getting tweets from people saying they wanna thank my brother? Paul. What is that? Oh, I don't know. Raining blows down upon you. Wow. Oh, that's from from from yesterday's show. I guess as we speak. No. Yeah. My you're supposed to be popular is supposed to be getting, you know, people should be complaining about Paul. That's terrible. Now thanking him saying where's that person been all our life? We've been listening all he wanted to do the listener. It's terrible. Two things Steve two things on these big signings or resigning, or whatever first of all, you said, if you have to have a defenseman with the puck attacking you'd want. Nobody else but Carlson. Correct is what you said. Well, that makes them worth to go already you're talking you want the best puck moving defenseman in the leak. It's gonna cost you money regardless of his other flaws, regardless of it, that day is I don't even bat an eye. When I hear this signing of a guy like Carlson, and he's getting eleven zillion dollars a year. It doesn't I don't even flinch anymore. I don't even flinch I, I would I'm more apt to go to what's, what's the term of the deal. How long has it? You know eight years well. There's absolutely every reason in the world of this guy can get an eight year deal why he's staying there in San Jose. The money only is an issue when it comes to how it relates to the cap, really, because all these owners are Jillian airs and so they're going to spend the cap certain teams. And it's just a matter of, you know, is this, a wise move to have so much of the percentage of your cap devoted to one guy like the right now, the sharks have five guys that Carlson burns, Vlasic Kane, and he could sure his in there as well. And those five guys are now at a stage where they're almost half of the salary cap for next year. They better be affected those five guys and that's the way the game is moving. You know, pay your core of but seven players pay. Everybody else minimum wage roughly, but this is a there's a lot of money to invest in terms of percentage of the cap. And that's the only reason I think at this stage that the. Money is truly meaningful because for the average Joe like us, this is very abstract. Once you get beyond a, you know, two or three million dollars. It's ridiculous. You know, the that, that was the big talk to write about the cap. This is totally people saying, this is totally going to change the whole game going to change the whole sport hockey when this gap game on people know what to do and Bubba I dunno. So guys got a cap and they signed a guy for eleven million. What's burns gonna may? What's that guy making, you know, he's fantastic? Hockey player, these Ardian eight think. Yeah. Cayenne, what's came gotta be around the same? He's at seven the cap thing. I dunno. I it's like there isn't even a cap anymore. To me, they're signing guys over there is though. But you know what? The owner Steve, I never understood. If I was of owner in the NHL, even with this, the whole idea is to have a cap so you couldn't collude, you know. Right. You couldn't you couldn't run amok care with with for the obvious reasons you have this caps. If I'm these owners at these Jay GM meetings, and stuff like that executive meetings with the NHL. I would be getting together and going boys. Why, why don't we why don't we lower salaries a little bit? Can we get together on this? You know what I mean? We all for one here little, you'll do the masonic handshake and go knowing get signed for more than five million. You know, everyone's stuck for more than five years or for more than five years or something. Yeah. You know, I don't. That's, that's what I'd be pushing for if I was older. Well, that makes sense on the surface. But when you dig a little deeper, you realize, okay, these guys aren't just partners who could. Yes. Get together and get costs under control, and collude sort of illegal, but they could do that. The reality is, they're not just partners though. They are competitors financial competitors and competing in the sport. They want their team to win. And there's an eagle right with all kajillions mares. You've MC lot of golf tournaments and you've hosted auctions, and you've seen the wealthy guys that bidding and bidding and bidding, sometimes, I don't even want the thing that's up for auction. But it becomes an ego thing it's more money than you think a pissing match. So a little of that to all of this, when we talk about salary caps and things, and that's what the cap is all about. Basically the cap is the owners attempt to save themselves. From themselves because without the cap only the strongest would survive, only the richest guys would win Stanley Cups. So here's the results of the poll. It is, again, the question are computing, web pool is, is this a wise decision. Is this a y signing eight years eleven million dollars more than eleven million dollars? They say for Eric Carlson, and seventy one percent say no at this stage of the game. They do not believe it is a smart signing..

"You sure as hell better show up in game six and Jose? And you know what sometimes being on the road in that kind of situation actually takes the pressure off a little bit. So I wouldn't be surprised to see them respond in a major major way. But how'd say what's going to be hard school be real real hard to take one against Saint Louis in their house in a closeout situation in a game six? With an opportunity to play for the Stanley Cup finals. I hope so. I had the stakes are high stakes are people. Wants more game six game sevens. The hell was it more? "I guess it doesn't much matter. Right. So I think that again, I think that, you know, Saint Louis to me they gotta do one thing better for sure let's stop turning the puck over the neutral zone and be better in their own. And they've got a clean that up. I mean there was three or four plays that led directly the goals for the San Jose Sharks. We absolutely have to clean that up. I have to be more strategic strategic with their approach to dealing with Carlson and burns, and you know, I'll be curious to see if they do change that strategy tonight. But you know, I can see certainly Bret Hedican around the shorts a lot. He works for the team. He's on the broadcasts. And you know. Yeah, you got Joe forton, you know, as long to you got Jope Avello who's been dinged up. You got Carlson who was at injury issues, all your. Long. I mean. Yeah, there's some concern. But you know, let's face it teams that go on to win the Stanley Cup. They usually don't have an easy ride. We have to battle through a lot of things. So you know, there's sharks team it's not too far removed from a trip to the final a couple of years ago they've been knocking at the door for a long time. There are a lot like the capitals where last year. And so, you know, I just think that you always have take a smart approach to your phone. And so we'll see what the blues tonight if they try to think a little different. No, you just brought up a great point that we've kind of reiterated during the course of our conversations this year of the similarities between the sharks and the capitol right teams that you just changed over the period of time, the the the sharks looked like a team that could be the could win the Cup early. And then what's wrong with the San Jose Sharks? And then they got hot. And then what's wrong with the San Jose Sharks? And next thing, you know, they're when the cub the capitals were kind of the same way, you know, once they got past Pittsburgh, it seemed like they were kinda kinda got things going, but then they fell behind. Three to two Tampa had come back and win game six and seven. So there are similarities where don't just when you think the sharks got figured out. They dip it and they come back, and maybe this will be caps two point. Oh with the sharks team. Yeah. You know, the capital to is like, you know, I think he guy for that team. Was nets often. He's somebody that was a more. Recent addition to that group, and you know, he has been a key guy for them, and then San Jose and their case, you know, Meyer and hurdler or wore recent acquisitions than they may be more important that group now probably they are than than than certainly like a guy like Thornton. And maybe even propels you at this point in terms of driving play from shift to shift basis. So, you know, it's an interesting comparison. We'll see how things go I mean game to obviously, the sharks have been good at winning games one at home and the first two rows they've lost game two and each of the last two rounds, and obviously Saint Louis has been a good road team. So I would expect their big push back from the blues tonight..

"Yeah. Especially on this show. Well, I mean, they show I'm done it. We talked about it years ago on the old show. Right. I mean, it's the nature of the sport that we we do tend to talk about things at the end of the day. Don't have any really meeting in the game. It's just something. We're used to when I from the fan's perspective. I always thought it's better to wear white at home. You could see all the different colors of all the different teams when they come in. Whereas when you were guarding home while you see the opposite engine always wearing white. Does it really do much for me? But I digress. It looked like the sharks added all figured out. Right. They flip the switch. They get Belsky back. They get Carlson back. They they beat up on bagels in game. One all all's right with the world. And then they lose the next two games giving up combined. What eleven goals so with a real San Jose Sharks stuff forward here. And I'm getting suspicion over the last two that maybe they are what they are even the sharks are an inconsistent team that maybe a little bit closer to what we saw at the end of the season that we all thought we were gonna see at the beginning of the year. They are up and down the short. Now that are crept into things with blast. The in out who is a important piece of the puzzle Ryan Carlson played well in game one. But there's been kind of abysmal defender. I mean, I I don't know how to say it. I mean, he's he's always been a light defender, and he is not defended very well series. No. I know that's not what he does. But you have to you have to be a credible defender in the postseason. You can't be just that light defender in the postseason. They're taking advantage of that. Now, maybe he's still dealing with whatever you know, injuries that he's had the last half of the season. And that's certainly a possibility. But you know, he's been on the ice for a number of goal against which doesn't help the San Jose Sharks. And you know, Martin Jones it's been a struggle. You know game on it and have a lot of shots of the first period. Ten shots for Vega. They had some shots and third period of game. But he giving up goal. "I'm Ron future AL and we've got baseball coming up. We've talked a little bit of baseball ready. We got baseball coming up with Fran Reardon next hour. He's the new manager of the aviators the Las Vegas aviators playing at the Las Vegas ballpark right now. They're playing a game up there. They had batting practice today. So the first media day out there, they oh they showed the food some of the food prianti. So there's no and then a few other places. I don't know if some of the other places, but it was just Meatball subs and good stuff. Some hotdog burn my mouth. I I like smoking you want those I guess especially in a public. Intestines quick those. But some people do. Things like that. So it's it's a yet mixing the ballpark's between foo foo food and real honest to goodness ballpark food greens and protein in there. So they go, and you know from food go. Okay. I know we also talked a little hockey we're gonna jump right into it right now. Jeff Sharples Las Vegas guy who was here with the Las Vegas thunder for years and play to the NHL defenseman with the Detroit Red Wings, and Jeff Sharples. You're you're in Canada right now is that you're out of the country. The country right now, but happy to be with you on a low, Susie. Down there. It's a little cooler up here. The great white north. And now what you guys are what we're used to in Vegas, but it is beautiful nonetheless. So when I heard hockey I had to call perfect. Well, Suzy's a big nights fan Suzie winter the night's game to this year, not to brag also to the thunder games back in the day. Thunder experience you little young. We were all little younger back, then Jeff weren't we? So great experience and Suzy new hockey at work in Vegas. Oh, the thunder was great. It was awesome down there. And a lot of reminiscent T Mobile's reminiscent to the Thomas and Mack. And a lot of ways with the energy, the noise and. The people you talked to around the league. It's it's, you know, it's incredible. And it just carries on and here we are getting ready for your to the Vegas Golden Knights and they're in the playoffs and got a hand your give them credit because it hasn't been easy. But they got there. And they're extremely dangerous in my view. Disappointed that we don't have a Stanley Cup yet. Taking so long. We we better get in line with. Tick. Yeah. Funny. The other night it was there with Detroit. And of course, I'm torn when Detroit comes to town. Thank goodness only come once a year, but we had friends in from Detroit. And it was a lot of fun to to go to the game. But you could tell we didn't get off the nights then get off to a good start. And you could just hear the murmur like what's going on where we're supposed to everyone knows Detroit's down in the standards, and we're just supposed to walk over these guys and Saturday night, we're supposed to have a great time. And you know, we've talked about it throughout the year. How difficult the league is and the recipe for success at Vegas is booth up over the first two years they've been league is unprecedented. But you know, even a team might be Troy that's having an off year show the other night that you know, it's not easy. Anybody can come up and bite in. And I think it shows just how great the night have been. And everybody in the organization has been phenomenal players coaches, Gerald manager coats. And of course, Mr. Foley. And I think the way that they've made a show as well. As hockey has really brought us together. I mean, my boyfriend is from Detroit, and he's like, yeah. We don't have ice girls that come out get the ice every two minutes. There are many. I know. Well, the other night our last night when they played Edmonton is able to watch the game up here and on the Canadian feed, and it, you know, every commercial break like the local fans are used to see, you know, the strip while you got the blog yellow, and they got the fountains, and then you know, they make even the Canadian broadcasts made it like that this is the place to be. And then they did a little thing on how the nights are handed out at lunch boxes now with the biggest tonight's globe on it. And they get a little Dicker champs, and they get this and get that in their in their lunch box. So it's really a grassroots separate effort to get from the ground up and the community and you're right. It's been wonderful. We up all terrific people in our community service industry community people always giving and for you know, the nights to come in have the success. They've had it just helps the gel, and of course, with you know, everything that happened last year. With October one and the night took the torch, and they started running with it. And and everybody's got behind them. It's a great story. I mean it sports. I can't think of a bigger story especially in NHL since maybe Wayne Gretzky got traded. And and you know, the team story, I think the nights may be one of if not the biggest team story in the history of the league and that over one hundred years, so that's that's pretty special and as a kings fan, I sort of like that Gretzky trade that sort of put a smile on my face, but we get Jeff polls on the line with us here. Former thunder player former NHL player with the Detroit Red Wings with Suzy draining. I'm Ron few trial. And we're talking some hockey right now as we get set for the Stanley Cup playoffs. The the night's have two more games left in the regular season. They play Thursday here against air Zona and then Saturday against the LA kings on the road and then the series begins sometime middle next week. Against the San Jose Sharks. I want you to size this up. Jeff, the San Jose Sharks. And the nights know each other. Well, they played in the playoffs last year nights beat this sharks in six games. And they've their last game had a few fights in it. And if you browser Joe Thornton went added with Ryan Reeves they were going to stick the stick and badly. What what how do you see this matchup between these two pretty good hockey teams in the NHL? Yeah, they're both grown. They're both. Really good teams. You know, I had a cat. In the pre season and actually had a chance to watch some of the practices. And I was, you know, talk about them for just a moment. But I was amazed at how they are with their forwards and they have so much skill upfront. They're dynamic, and of course, then they make the trait for Carlson, which, you know, along with Brad burns and work ethic, and just you know, Braun and Corey Dillon, you know, these guys that's five, you know, everyday NHL defenseman, and you could put more than one of those guys in the superstar category. It looked like it was a match made in heaven along with Martin Jones who played you know, he's played in some big games and got them to the final few years ago. So they look like they were kind of when I watched them. I thought they were the consensus. But I in the Pacific give Calvary full marks for what they've done, son. They not unlike Vegas is add their bumped this year. But. If I was looking at data off to a rough start got it together to you know, quite total little bit. And then last night, they look a little bit more like themselves. Four or five games to me. Like they play two periods of hockey. They didn't get off to the best starts. But if you were to compare the teams looking at them, and what you see is you see very, very even teams. You've got ten ten players to play for the thirty six players the nights at over twenty goals. You have six players. So the twenty goals ten players for the knights have double digits more than ten goals twelve for the sharks. I think if you series up there's you know, there's a bunch of things we could talk about but one of the things for Vegas to be successful is going to they're going to need their speed when they're quick through the neutral zone the middle of the ice. They're they are really tough at five on five. It's good as anybody and their power play. Been hit myth. It's not so much the percentage it's the timeliness of the goal. And you know, and then if Vegas is getting us speed on them, which I think they will it's going to be really important for San Jose to to capitalize on the power play. And then you know, the big one is done for them to success in the series. They're going to have their goalkeepers. They're going to have to because we'd expect Mark under flurry to be back. And he been one of the top one to three goals in the league this year. I mean, certainly talk five I put them in the race. And and I would say, you know, he's right there with ski. There's some other goals that have had great years too. But. That's the recipe speed and power play timely goals for Vegas. And and then on the short side, you know, special teams same thing, but they're going to need some stops and to get by vagus flurry. And now you've got that situation. Max legacy has been sent back to the Chicago wolves. They didn't mention flurry. But you gotta assume that flurry then is going to be activated. Whether he's going to be ready to play on Thursday night. Don't know it'd be nice to see if he can get a little bit of ice time just to start getting fresh again and see how things go, but but you gotta have flip flurry. I say flurry at seventy five percent is going to be better than not having flurry. But still you you wanna you wanna have your goalkeeper hundred percent for the playoffs. Absolutely. And you know, if you look at the stats VC teams. I mean, we're at eighty games San Jose event. Couvert tonight nights are all, but you know, the the get go shots against per game. You know, everything the only thing that kinda sticks out to me. The power play percentage. She's a little higher day than it is for Vegas. And you know, that's why I think if they if they can get the timely goal that's going to be huge. But if you look at the goalkeeping, I mean, flurries ninety one and a half percentage, both the so big goalkeepers are under ninety, you know, mountain Jones straight up against leery about a half a goal game more that he's allowing me. And the other thing is is he's Mark on the flurry. I mean, everyone in the league, you know, knows this guy he at eight shutouts this year. He's second in the league and even milcome sue ban who came in and finally got a chance to play. And I thought you know, he had he he's played. Well, I mean he's over ninety saves percentage, which which is huge is goals against as under under both Jose goalie. So, you know, Malcolm, sue badness it's been good for him. And he got a big win last night. He's made some huge saves. They weren't some rough times with him. But that's the expect. That he's he on goalie, and you know, it's sort of it comes down to it. Obviously you'd have to give the edge in goal to Vegas. That's not to say that Martin Jones is capable of playing very well played very well on T mobile or this year. But I would have to say you're going to give me a goal in the Western Conference or in the league. I'll take mon- Marc Andre Fleury. He's the only one I know I'll take him. Another one couple of Modi's Carey price in Montreal who happens to get into the playoffs. Look out. He's capable of doing..

"The act after loss. Well, the consistency has been amazing for Henrik. Now, obviously is a byproduct of being able to win games in three on three overtime in the shootout. But still a lot of the guys that are his his peers have the same thing. But he's been consistent. He's never been hurt for a tremendous a length of time the teams that have beyond been perennial playoff teams until recently. But it is an amazing streak and tremendous and he's gonna waltz into the hall of fame. There's no question how he acts after a loss. Listen, he's a guy that wears his heart on his sleeve. I'll bring up Martin Brodeur because they were peers for awhile play in the same market, and and mardi obviously has been compared to Henrik in back and forth. You know, Mario? He's play. Like nothing bothered him. A Hank plays. You could see this head to the sky after a bad goal body, language wise, he wears his heart, honestly. And sometimes that could be a bit of a detriment to him. But overall, he cares as much as anybody that I've ever seen. He takes losses very hard. And I've seen the losses. Fuel him. I don't have a stat in front of me. But just in my mind's, I can tell you that he always seems to play at his best after games in which he played poorly or was pulled like you almost guarantee that he is gonna come up with a stellar effort a game after or night after he was pulled. So you know, how strong he is mentally to be able to do that. Calvin who was our residence, San Jose Sharks? Fan says, hey, what's your thoughts on the shards picking up Halley before the deadline felt it would make the team stronger in any way? Of course, you know, death is always important. He says also I read an article that they are thinking of picking up Miller from the ducks. I don't see that helping us at all. And giving up a coming goalie for him seem stupid to me if we trade anyone should be Jones and bring one up again, I don't know the depth of the golden you probably know more than me as far as the guys that they have down there. I think they're combination of Jones delve done a great job there. I think Miller is a guy that is probably past as prime but still somebody that's been there. And he's done that he's played in. I'll ton of playoff games. He's played at an elite level has played internationally. So I don't know if it's a case of San Jose just wanting to have that kind of in case something happens. Insurance. And I'm not sure what they would give up doubt. Obviously be part of the assessment will say, but I can't really say enough of what they have down on the farm of what they'd have to give up to save. It's a good thing or a bad thing. But if they're itching to do it, they must know something that other people do not about their go to goaltending. Overall Jones has been to a Stanley Cup. Final went within two wins of winning a Stanley Cup final. Now as far as Michael Haley concern. I saw him a lot in Florida, right? He's not a tremendous point producer only twenty points in his career in two hundred and twenty nine games. He's been a minus player, but on a lot of bad teams. But he is somebody that that does get some shots on goal. Big presence penalty minutes..

Stephen Curry to auction off 'Moon Landing' shoes for STEM education

"Conspiracy? Yeah. I I got a pass on that. I mean, let let's be real the moon landing happened. Okay. Just like nine eleven happened. Just like the JFK assassination happened. There might have been a second shooter. There that one I'm not totally sure on could have been a little action on the grassy knoll, bro. But my point is conspiracy theorists love to run rampant. With this stuff. And if you actually take the time to research this stuff, you will realize in pretty short order that. Yes, the moon landing happen in this is to be the bigger part of this story, though is that curry he's just too cool. Man. There's nothing he can't handle. You know what I'm saying? Like, he just does everything the right way. And how about the fact his party in Oakland that he's throwing so cool. This morning fans lining up around the corner to try and get tickets. It was the the the curry party Friday night at FOX theater in Oakland. So incredible man Steph curry just throwing that parlay for Oakland. That's curry baby. That's curry. There's nothing he doesn't do right. Except it shuts down the stretch against the rockets, and when you're up by twenty or you have a six point leaving the ball the minute eighteen left other than that though. There's not a damn thing that Steph curry doesn't do right. All right. Good stuff. Margus coming up next, title, San Jose, Sharks hockey, my friend. Jamie Baker

Bill Belichick won't put Khalil Mack in Lawrence Taylor's class

"That's happening in forum is because they traded Khalil Mack in. Why are we talking about Khalil Mack? Well, we're not trying to rub it into raiders fans. I wanted to talk about Bill Belichick and what he said about Khalil Mack today. Of course, the bears are playing the patriots on Sunday and Bill Belichick. Ironically, enough won't put cluele MAC in the same classes Lawrence Taylor. Well, of course, not Lawrence Taylor is one of the three greatest defensive players in NFL history. He might be the greatest defensive player in NFL history. Khalil Mack has a long, and I mean, a long way to go before he can even be remotely compared to Lawrence sale. You know, Lawrence Taylor has also Super Bowl rings rings, plural. So for Khalil Mack. Sure. Is he a terrific player right now in the NFL? Absolutely. Is he one of the top three or four players on defense in the league right now. Absolutely. Should he be murmured in the same sentences Lawrence Taylor? Oh, hell, no. And of course, Bill Belichick was the D coordinator for all those teams in New York with the giants. So of course, he has a special affinity for for Lawrence Taylor. He helped get the guy's career off the ground. And you know, part of what may Bill Belichick and attractive head coaching commodity keep in mind, you know, he was under that Bill Parcells coaching tree is players loved a man and Bill Belichick wasn't always this sullen hood wearing callous unfeeling strategists. Meaning it was always a little. I'd say blunt he wasn't always Mr. Congeniality, but he definitely used to show a softer side, a little more, and you know, as you get a little older, and you care less. What people think that tends to happen when you're a head coach, it's a little different. You got to kind of keep your cards close to the vest. Bill Belichick has embodied that. And that's why in an era where today's NFL and really in professional sports. You have to be the players coach, the friend. I this stern disciplinarians don't really make the great anymore. But that's why Bill belch exponential to last because he wins, and he still has the respect of his locker room. All right, San Jose Sharks. Have been struggling

"Talking a little sports and the mets did take a six five lead your redbirds batting in the bottom of the tenth on somebody go deep there for my metropolitans jay bruce jay bruce there you go you got that triple in the second inning but they left him at third base he did that with nobody out so he figured you know what i just put it over the wall this way i don't have to worry about i just tried around the basis naturally you're smiling so you must have a guy on bass no de smirk over here i'm happy for other sometimes you know you're not happy and you're not happy if you read birds are losing but it would be poetic justice if the mets win while you were that stan musial jersey here at the game ends yeah it's beautiful number six that's nice that's a great term and but it would be nice for you to go up in flames right here is then that's hopefully can close things out the bullpen always shaky familiar in these guys i did buy hi it's like back in the day john franko don't don't watch just just hope to see you next to it when you're in the lead vegas golden knights going to take on san jose sharks played really well in their sweep of anaheim your take on this series you gave me the prediction you think the vegas golden knights in how many i think nights and six and boy is tough series i give the sharks a lot of credit i like our chances to win game one however if we don't win game one i think we at least split at home i hope we went to of course i do but i think we split at home but here's the shocker i think then they go to san jose and they beat them twice i know you sent me that i'm like really and then you had an old then would think they're coming back to game five in vegas to clinch it and again the knights have been predictably unpredictable or unpredictably predictable i don't know how to put it but the lose game five either way you confuse me so i know i know take.
