Reparations May Be Given to Blacks in California
"During his now infamous trial, January 6th defendant, Jacob chansley, AKA the Q shaman, faced some very hefty sentences. These included a 5 year prison sentence and a fine of up to $250,000. In law, such fines are levied as a form of restitution in order to compensate for costs such as damaged property, medical bills, resulting from personal injury, or even to pay an opponent's legal fees. The concept of reparations is that it is a form of punishment that can also help to repair the damage that was done by the accused. It's important to note, the government can not find you with reparations out of the blue. You have to be guilty of a crime. It's good the Chancellor wasn't ultimately hit with the full amount as a quarter of a million dollars for most people can't be raised easily. People work their entire lives and still can't save that much money. It's such a large amount that even someone as gullible as judge Lambert, a man who genuinely believed the Q shaman was somehow the breath from destroying America's democracy forever. Thought the penalty was overkill. Lately, there's been another shaman in the news, only this shaman has two ends, shaman Walton is a member of the San Francisco board of supervisors. A body which voted unanimously last Wednesday to approve a plan to give $5 million to every eligible black resident as part of the city's plan to make reparations for slavery. The plan was a way to go before final approval, like every other member of the board, shaman Walton wants to see it through. He says, quote, we have to stay focused and stay together as a community, he says. Because now it is a 100% more prevalent that we can not be separated or divided. Let's stay the course. Because a $5 million payday for me is almost here. It might be pertinent to point out that shaman Walton himself is black. And something also tells me he will be included among those deemed eligible for the payout.

San Francisco Reparations Plan Proposes $5M for Black Residents
"On to another part of what we call basic stupidity out of local government. This week, we saw San Francisco, not the bastion of conservatism by any means, but also not the bastion of common sense. The San Francisco board expressed support for reparations in X upwards of $5 million to every. African Americans who were living in San Francisco. So a whole lot of money. Now here's the interesting issue. There's no way they can pay this. Yeah, they can't even afford to get the homeless people out of there to area. I mean, and here there's an interesting take. There's a former Black Lives Matter and this is a story that I saw earlier in the week from the Russo. It was a, he used to be part of Black Lives Matter now. He's with prager and Dennis and all those guys. But he may make the point, it's really interesting he says this, what he's basically saying, and he said. This is just virtual statement. Number one, nothing's gonna change, okay? Because there's no way they can pay this. And it really the concern and I've heard this from others in the community that it perpetuates a victim mentality. It perpetuates that, yes, the reason you're part lot in life is because of something that happened a long time ago and you've never recovered. So we're now gonna make you whole. And everything will be fine. James, you and I both know that just simply giving money to someone does not make them hope.

Nancy Pelosi surrounded by members of the California delegation, remembering her dear friend as a pioneer. Her legacy will be a long one that we have all we will all be inspired by the first female president of San Francisco's Board of Supervisors. She was on the verge of quitting politics altogether when horror struck. Her colleague Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay officials in the country assassinated in San Francisco City Hall. In an interview with CNN, Feinstein describing the moment she found his body. I heard doors slam. I heard the shots. I smelled the cordite. He whisked by. I walked down the offices supervisors and found Harvey Milk. Put my finger in to get a pulse. It was the first person I'd ever seen shot to death. Milk in San Francisco Mayor George Moscone both killed that day. Feinstein announcing the tragic news. Both Mayor Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk have and killed. "Out of California, here's a headline. San Francisco to consider $5 million reparations check for black citizens. And not only the $5 million, $97,000 a year for 250 years. So to this caller, Robert, the answer is, we're going to make you set for life. You don't have to achieve anything other than you were born. Because that's what Robert is arguing. I don't know why I can't play that, Dan, it's the second time. Let's try again. Yeah, well, that's more appropriate. Let's try to get Robert in here. I'm Mike. I'm Robert, man. To save that black folks are not still suffering from slavery. It's ridiculous man. He was coming for the eggs in the new. We never got it in black culture situation has never changed. I'm for reparations, but I think black folks need to come together in the sidewalk reparations. It should be. America was built on the backs of slaves and black folks who still in the same condition they were in the beginning. Black folks are still in the same condition that they were in in the beginning. Again, that's a serious guy. He picked up the phone and I, and again, I respect his honesty. I don't even know, I don't even know what you do with that. He's able to recite a bunch of talking points that he's heard, America is built on the backs of slaves. America was built on the backs of slaves. California wasn't a slave state, but that doesn't matter. America is built on the backs of slaves, blacks are still in the same boat. They were in at the very beginning, were lynching and murdering and enslaving black people in March of 2023. People believe that evidently the San Francisco board of supervisors means that they believe that and if and when this day occurs, boy, are we going to be in big trouble? And incidentally, here's an interesting text from South Carolina on the MyPillow text line, brought to you by my pillow, where for a limited time, buy one, get one, two of the MyPillow two, the brand new newly designed MyPillow from Mike lindell. Mike, people are going to lose their minds. When all these white people with black ancestors start getting their reparations. I got a thought for you to consider. People are going to lose their minds period. When hardworking, Hispanic, Asian or white Americans, witness this government making multi millionaires out of people who have no other qualification. Other than having been born, oh, people are going to lose their minds all right..

"Let's get your reaction to what appears to be unfolding in California. The San Francisco board of supervisors signaling their support for a $5 million per person reparations payment for residents in California. 806 5 5 mic, James is in San Francisco right there in the middle of it all. Hi, James. How are you? I'm doing well, Mike. I'm calling from your favorite city. You got it. You got it. Well, what's it like living in San Francisco with all this madness around you? Well, you're talking to a one percenter Mike because I'm a native. An army veteran. God bless you. And my parents were born here, and I was born here. But what kind of irked me was that last caller, tell them us how America was built on slavery. You know, these buildings in LA, San Francisco, Chicago, New York. If you look at the pictures, they were riveters. Iron workers, brick workers, engineers, not slaves. And this country still being built. You look at the roads across this city, mostly Hispanic mind you, but hardworking Americans. Not slaves. And you know what, Mike, when this is all said and done, and everything's paid out, there's still going to be crime, not satisfied. Well, that's the question, James. I mean, and that's the question of the other person was asking. So if we start making multi millionaires out of black Americans, because why stop in San Francisco, why is it fair to give only black residents of California millions and millions of dollars in reparations payments? What about Ohio? What about Florida? What about New Mexico? Go down. There's 50 states in this country. We got to make multi millionaires out of every one of them. Here was Jesse watters last night, addressing this on his program on Fox News channel. No money more problems. That's how they do things in California. They see a problem they throw money at it. That's it. Nothing changes. So are you homeless? Here's a monthly allowance. Are you trans? I'll double it. Need to shoot heroin in a public bathroom. Let's build you a $2 million toilet. But nothing comes close to reparations in the San Francisco reparations committee. Got a whiff of the spending. And that was demanding $5 million to every black resident, $5 million. In a city and state that never had slavery, ever. And the people are singing for it. But it's no mystery. Just check the history. I've been working on some cases and involved a lot of spirits oh. What's going down down? In this town, the black population is going down. I'd sing for 5 mil. I mean, but 5 mill isn't enough. The reparations crew also wants you to pay off all their debts. That means credit card mortgage. Student loans. Also, if you owe back taxes or any taxes wiped. And they want to guaranteed salary of a $100,000 a year for the next 250 years. I guess that means when you die, you're a state, keeps getting paid. Also, if you want to buy a new home, all new homes in San Francisco cost $1. That's right, a dollar a home if you're black. And there are no limits on how many homes you could buy. You could get a home for less than a happy meal. Sorry, the people have spoken, and they want reparations. Now, again, people look at this as a joke, Jesse is responding the way a normal person would respond. This is insane. It's comedic, it's not serious. It's not real, but it is. It is. Look at all these headlines. San Francisco board of supervisors, signal support for $5 million reparations..

There's Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins is described as a group of bipartisan U.S. female senators. It's not bipartisan. It's a couple of rhinos in a room full of Democrats and Kamala. Vice president cackles is in there too. And it's just a creepy video and they're all waving at the camera. They're all happy and they're all drinking wine or whatever they're doing. They want us fighting. They want us hating each other, this is what they want. This is all they want. And they'll get it with this. They'll get it with this absolutely. And I think we ought to be able to acknowledge it. That's what it's all about. It's about creating as wide a racial divide as humanly possible. No normal person thinks it makes sense to make somebody a multimillionaire. Essentially winning the lottery because of the pigmentation of your skin. Hate to break it to you. Nobody living in San Francisco in March of 2023 is impacted by slavery in any way, shape or form. Nobody. Everybody knows it. Everybody understands that. The race hustlers understand that the San Francisco reparations committee understands that they all know it. It's not about facts. It's not about logic. It's not about truth. But it's also about creating racial division. So I don't know what we do about it. I mean, because I don't want to be part of the racial divide, I want to love my fellow man. I want to appreciate Americans for their worth. I don't care what your skin color is. All men are created equal. I believe in the American Dream. I don't believe in this kind of divisiveness. So I don't know what the answer is. But do you think I'm right when I submit to you that the goal is anger and racial divisiveness. That's why they're doing this. Focus on excellence not racial and gender divisiveness. Florida is raining in the diversion equity and inclusion campus racism. In California, it looks like they're headed towards paying billions of dollars to black residents, making many of them multi millionaires over slavery. Last night, San Francisco's board of supervisors voted unanimously. To accept the plan from San Francisco's African American reparations advisory committee. That would pay out a one time 5 million dollar payment per qualifying person. Now, I've told you for years, there's no way this is going to happen. I can't believe this is even potentially a thing. Residents must also meet at least two of 8 other requirements. Among those requirements is that the resident is personally or the direct descendant of someone incarcerated by the failed war on drugs or is a descendant of someone enslaved through U.S. chattel slavery before 1865. Now, again, in normalville, I'd say to you, there's no way this could happen..

San Francisco's board of supervisors is meeting Tuesday to review a proposal that those over $5 million east to qualify black residents and reparations as a way to make amends for slavery. Let me just tell you all this and I hope this is very clear. There is no making amends for slavery. There is none. I don't even to be honest, I don't even think there needs to be. I honestly believe this with my whole heart. You know, slavery was wrong. Slavery was normal back then. Today, it is the most barbaric thing you can ever imagine that somebody's enslaved. "I want to be clear about this. That the controller is not necessarily a policymaker. Okay in the sense that the controller can't say you know we wanna do this specific thing with housing policy. That's really the job of the legislature and the governor. The controller can say once. You all have made that decision. Let's make sure your living up to your promises. Let's make sure that you're actually doing what you say you do. So whether it's in law enforcement issues or housing or water which is another very big issue. These days thinking about how state tax payer money is being spent. That is going to be my purview in my job and that's something i take very seriously. Well the you've got the policy unlock. Let's talk about the politics. That's going to be your biggest challenge here. You know in running as republican california. None have won statewide since two thousand six. We got some questions. You're going to be asked. Let's let's go to You've often referred to trump on tv with me and elsewhere. This is a bit of a light on policy. Did you vote for him. In two thousand sixteen or twenty twenty. You know. i understand. This question is going to get asked. I understand why it's getting asked. I'm not gonna define my candidacy through the prism of the former president. I'm not going to define the prism of any politician. I'm focused on california. I'm focused on the future. And that's really what i want to talk about in this campaign. What i'm gonna do is controller. What my ideas are. That's really in my mind. The question i'm most excited about about addressing going forward. Do you not gonna say whether you voted for trump or not. I listen i again. I am not about looking at the past. I'm about looking forward. And what i'm going to do as control. What about You wrote policy for governor. Romney and marco rubio and they they have policies on many issues that are to the right of where most californians are. Yeah and you're going to be asked about this. What about where on abortion rights. Because you may want to audit how much the state spends on abortion like. Where's lonnie on. Add on that. Yeah you know that here again. You know i want to go to this distinction. The controller is not a policymaker the controller is about enforcing the laws of the state and to the extent that those are laws that exist. Now those laws that will enforce as controller. I have no interest in changing the law in in in in in any of this regard. So i think it's important joe like there's all sorts of questions that people will wanna know answers to about all sorts of different issues. I think part of the challenge in our politics now is that we don't focus enough and often enough on. What are we asking this person to go do and are they qualified and ready to go do that job. That's what i want to focus on. And so i want people to be very clear that the controllers responsibility is to ensure we all understand where that money is being spent. And that's the job. I'm going to go do. Not you're likely opponent in the Should you make it through the primary primary or actually in the primary would be malia cohen. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted unanimously this week to recommend historic status to a Diego Rivera mural at the San Francisco Art Institute. Here to explain is KQED, Sarah Hodgkiss and Sarah. This was initiated because the Art institute is considering selling the mural which could fetch up to $50 million to pay off a big loan. Yes, and what the borders Supervisors did on Tuesday was began the process of landmark designation for this 1931 mural. Now the Planning Department and the Historic Preservation Committee will weigh in and write about the historical significance of the mural, essentially creating a dossier about it. And then the supervisors will review that once again and decide finally how to vote. So what is the significance of this mural? So it's just one of three Diego Rivera murals that we have here in San Francisco, and the Mirror's name is the making of a fresco showing the building of a city. So it portrays some of the historic figures that are linked to San Francisco history. And it also depicts the industrial workers who actually Built the city. San Francisco Bans Facial Recognition Technology
"This week. The San Francisco board of supervisors voted to ban the use of facial recognition technology by police and other city agencies. The stop secret surveillance ordinance was introduced by Erin Peskine. He says the technology is inaccurate and invasive last year, the American Civil Liberties union tested, Amazon's facial recognition product and found that twenty eight members of congress were incorrectly identified mostly people of color. Supporters say the technology will have fight crime, but opponents call it and overreach here now to discuss this are Jennifer Lynch surveillance, litigation director for the electric frontier foundation and Tricia Sadan city hall reporter for the San Francisco, Chronicle nice to see you both, Jennifer, first of all, can you explain how facial recognition works? How do you go from, for example, a camera at a separate station to having that technology? Identify you. Sure, while so face recognition uses an algorithm to. Measure various aspects of your face and compare that to faces and face templates that are already in a database and based on the percentage of, of similarity between your face. The face of the database, the face recognition system will identify you as a person in the database or not, and given where we are today society. There are cameras everywhere, so Tricia. What was Saffire CISCO's new ordinance do? Exactly, yes. There's really two aspects to this law. So the first one on that supervisor earn Peskine had proposed with that, it would just not allow our city agencies to use facial recognition technology. So it's important to note that SAP says that they don't currently use the technology, but this would bar them from acquiring it in the future. And then the second aspect of the law that hasn't gotten as much attention as yet right ban. Is that the under this ordinance the our city departments will now have to disclose exactly? What's our technology? They are using. And that can be anything from license plate readers to body cameras or anything like that. And they would also have to get approval from the board of supervisors right for venture surveillance technology purchases. Right. So I would have to once disclose everything that they're using the border, supervisors can look at that. And, you know, in theory, if they don't like what they see on one of them, they can go, and then prohibit them from using it in the future, and any sort of any future technologies that they do want to acquire you're correct. They need to they need to get approval and Jennifer, as Trish just mentioned, this Cisco police department and the sheriff's department say they don't use facial recognition technology. So why the need for a ban at this point? Why do you support it? Well, I think we're right at the cusp of same face recognition rolled out in law enforcement agencies across the country were already saying that being used up in Oregon systems have been purchased in Detroit and Chicago and New York. So we're right at a point where we really need to sort of lay down a Mark and say, we're not going to allow police departments to even acquire this technology because we shouldn't be experimenting on our citizens in the United States to see if this technology, even works we already know how it's being applied in other countries like China, and we don't want that to happen here and let me understand this as well. Because even let's say, for example, San Francisco police department doesn't use technology but could they partner with a third party like say Amazon, for example, to somehow still able to have access to facial recognition well under the way that we're currently written? No they can't partner with Amazon. They can't acquire the face recognition through a third party. The only sort of loophole in the in the ordinance would be if they somehow received face recognition identification from another source without going out and seeking access to that. And how accurate is this technology Trish? Well, that's, that's the question is, we don't exactly know, yet, like the report that you'd mentioned before were with the had put out where it misidentified twenty members of congress. I mean that does bring into question you know, it's obviously an emerging technology in wash. Should we put in the hands of our law enforcement? But then you hear the other side where you don't really hear anyone saying this is this is the solution in this is the perfect thing that we should be using. But you hear people who were against it outright ban being, we'll why don't we just create a framework around how it's us instead of just banning it altogether. Because in some cases, it could be useful crime solving tool if it's uses a supplement rather than the only thing I think the problem with that, though, is that we already know that face recognition doesn't perform, as well, people of color, and women. And so if you're talking about a criminal Justice system, that disproportionately impacts people of color, where mugshot databases are made up disproportionately with African Americans. And they are targeted by law enforcement more frequently than other racism episodes, face recognition is going to have a disproportionate impact, and will miss identify people for crime. So I think it's a real, but yeah police departments. Like Detroit, New York. Right. And they say we should this technology with the utmost care and caution. And we do believe that we don't use just the technology itself. There's human intervention involved to make sure that this is used properly does that give you comfort. No, it really doesn't because we know that humans misidentified people who they don't know at even higher rates than face recognition technology. So I think a lot of people think, well, if I just had an officer look at the image verify the image after the fact that will sort of negate any misidentification through the technology, but that just doesn't happen. What happens is the officer identification reinforces the misidentification that occurs through the technology so Trish. Do we know how many law enforcement agencies nationally are using this technology right now? I don't know if there's a definitive list, but there, definitely are some examples. So Orlando, for example, has they've used it in some capacity Dallas as well. And then one of the first law enforcement agency to use Amazon's fish recognition technology was Washington county, I'm in Oregon, and they also there Cherif had come out with a statement saying that we don't use this as only form of identification. We also must have a human human intervention, as well cases where it has been used effectively to. So there was one, high provoke casing, the terrible capital, capital gazette shooting in, in Maryland at a newspaper there, where police were having trouble identifying the suspect the regular means such as fingerprints than they did. They're able to use a federal database to be able to match with the with the suspect and then they're able to successfully apprehend. The suspect in that case in there have also been misidentification Serra just had a pretty. Terrible misidentification Sri Lanka bombings, where Brown University student was misidentified through face recognition, and then her picture was put out on social media, and she was targeted by people all around the world as being one of the bombers, let me ask you this. We live in a digital age where massive data. Breaches seem to be happening, more and more places like Facebook, for example, and other big tech companies the for many people when you talk about facial recognition seems to hit a nerve, that's different from those scenarios, even though we're still talking about personal data here. What do you think? That's the case, Jennifer. Well, I think face recognition is different because we are faces are exposed whenever we're out in public, whenever we're talking to anybody. It's very unusual for somebody to cover up their face, and it's very difficult to change your face. So if your face ends up in a in a database, it's very different from having a driver's license, number or credit card number social security number. Taken as part of a high security breach. You can change all of those numbers, but you can't change your face. Very and I think there's also more of an emotional appeal to it and it's easier to wrap your head around the idea of your face being used in, in certain ways rather than like biometric data or, you know, things that you click on the internet, like, it's, it's much easier to them the idea of having your face at their rather than other parts of yourself. Yeah. We know that federal lawmakers are not paying attention to. There's a house oversight committee on this meeting on this next week. So thank you both through being here. Jennifer Lynch electric frontier foundation. Also, Trish, the Donnie with the San Francisco
