"You k. I'm with my senate. Division not like the eagles are a juggernaut of a team danny cents. Turn into danny dime there one in seven right now. We made some bad statements this morning. That might be the worst. But what did they make the playoffs. Though at one in seven days what if how because they just go on the run in the eagles start just play like the eagles one in seven to play. What do what do you see the way they played the bucks. If he doesn't throw those picks in they hit and he hits any hits a running back on a little out. Put it in overtime. They might win that game. They playing good football. They just got turned a corner in eagles. What are the eagles gonna show like what eagles are going to show up. What are you doing. I'm not arguing with you. Don't wanna seven izhar. there's no question about it. They should be looking to next year's draft but anything can happen. They've lost games by four three to regain except for the niner game where they lost by like twenty five every game they have been in the nine team a seven hundred nineteen in division. What did they run off enough to be seven and nine mathematically feasible. But i mean they have been near though the close a lot of games they just daniel. Jones has thrown for eight picks. Nine pixel ready in eight games. I don't think that they are going to the playoffs. But what if they do over. Let's have some fun when joe forton bar gambling guy joins us. I'll ask him. What are the odds that the giants could go one in seven to the playoffs right. We'll ask him. We'll have some fun with him when he joins us one in seven to the playoffs. Okay back to reality. Partic- west russell. Wilson is good enough to consistently make up for the seahawks defensive deficiencies i think they. It's real But their defense is slightly getting better here every week that they get back out there. They're getting a little bit better a little bit better. Jamal adams has not been the lineup. The last several weeks. They'll eventually get him back. Carlos dunlap was traded to add. Some pressure brought over to add some pressure to the defense to get at the quarterback because they clearly saw with Mary was able to do to them. When he put the ball in the air but yeah wrestles certainly can make up for deficiencies on the off on the defensive side of the ball. Well i think those pieces coming back that changes the conversation around about their defense. 'cause jamal adams is a beast. I mean he. He is legitimately a beast. I think brussels numbers will average out but in game scenarios. Yes he can carry them from time to time. But i think deepens that actually pan out when it's all said and done let's fly through these last two and if c north the bears are good enough to make this race with the packers. That's statement. is that a strong statement or write statement or wrong statement right statement. I think it's real. You know it is just one of those two weeks ago. Nick foles beat tom. Brady and the first thing we've seen well then they went out later stinker now. We're off of him again now. It's should they play trubisky. We don't know which green bay team is gonna show up week to week so i don't see how you can automatically council chicago. Bears out of the equation of making a strong run to win the division. I just don't see how you do it just quite yet well about doing. I'll cancel i. I said before. I think this was not a real situation. I think the bears are a great defensive team. Offensively anemic at times. And i said they will lose three in a row. They lost two in a row. Now they're going into tennessee. We'll see but i think at tennessee. I'm sure when. Joe comes on a show foreign ball. They are favored in this ball. Game all right last one. Of course tennessee ended. The tom brady era in new england. Of course he's the bucks are. Nfc south question. Tom brady tampa. Bay's defense can keep playing at this elite level keyshawn israel. Yeah they could keep planted elite level but the other key other teams within the conference. I'll start to play better as well. They'll separate themselves these four teams. You'll start to see who to really teams or between the green bay. Packers the seattle seahawks as well as the tampa bay bucks in the new orleans saints. I don't see base slowing down at all. I think the best defense in the nfl. And i think they're gonna keep going as simple. Those are declared if statements that symbol. Wanna give a shout to the wringer. It's as simple to log onto the website. Checkout that article if you want. They gave us some good stimulation this morning to think about every division in the nfl. By the way. Joe foreign mazari gambling expert. If you're unaware we have once a week and he'll be new he'll be on tomorrow morning at eight ten so we can ask him. How a one in seven team can end up making the playoffs and how you can make money doing that. Indeed the giants play in new jersey and they would be living on a prayer indeed key if you could go from one and seven to the playoff municipal because being from jersey. I want every song it'd be like. Bon jovi bruce springsteen stuff like that. That's that's on me and the chairman of the board frank sinatra. I hope those three guys from new jersey. I really really hope those three guys are from new. Jersey cannot afford another mistake ottomans. Let's go to sports center and then back to more cowboy doc..

Cata well as zoom is because they say bon jovi new jersey to hold this. I'm going. I'm like yeah i don't know i don't have this in my car plant and listened to on the radio. You got it in your phone. I'm sewer playlist. yes exactly now apple platelets. We jumped on a quick Yeah yeah there's no question. I've heard it in college but all gave it to bon jovi dental top of giving it to bon jovi. You said it was a president. Clinton's inauguration song right world for two clarification clean up a lot in this so first of all. This journey their lead singer. Steve perry who is a huge bay area sports fan. He sang. Take me out to the ball game when the giants were in the world series. Three out of five years. So so this is san francisco. Forty niners playing tonight. That's off we're way off on. We also played third eye blind at six o'clock which was another bay area band so there's a little theme to the music today. Given credit i got third eye. Blind right though. Yes your third binder. I've done one thing right to one for three off. what else. then. I want you to hear a bon jovi song. So we can altogether know woo-hoo bunch of is what he sounds. Okay we're ready. Oh you're shots jay. What's up information is two zero and just a cap on the whole thing. Zubin had said. Don't stop believing. Bill clinton campaign song. It was actually. Don't stop by fleetwood. Mac i was one word off. I added an extra word. This news even know where. I would even know who saying this. No but it. I guess our listeners. Do though this always get into trouble at all sounds the same to me. All sounds the same to me. Party music in the bar hanging out. That's just the same to me. Because i'm not a rock and roll. I guess this would be be making any aspersions on music okay. We don't even don't even go there. Rock and roll. I think it might be time to go back to sports. So how would you like soft rock. Yes software and there's plenty of people out there that we don't know what we're talking about sports either so this is actually a perfect scenario looking at. I'm shy that. I don't know who the songs are. And who the artists are shy. All right i'm going to be very live living what i don't know seniors. Who happens to live who humming it and act like you're singing along so you're part of the group of the group you belong there us alright. Zuber's very nervous. Now you go back to sports. We're about to go real or not real after that unreal four minutes that we just played on this program. That's for sure. I'm always doubting everything i'm thinking about. Just confirm here. The afc east is comprised of the bills. The jets the dolphins and the patriots. So we read about that because we gotta talk about the. He's for a second to make sure the culture no longer. They're not sure there ever there. Were back in the day okay. We're on their nervous now. The ditch don't even call triple eight. Stay in the ditch. he like. We always seem like a fish out of water when we're in those kind of club with that kind of music. I wanna take zubin at evan. It's like a hip hop hook clip. That's why i want to see them like dance future. And all this all this good stuff you know like have them stand the corner to see how they act. Yeah you know. They told us to never talk. Politics should have never done it. They told us that. Never talk politics. I've brought a bill clinton. See what happens. Did you bring upon excuse so you got excited about the music. But that's fine we we we're back on track now all right. If you're old enough maybe bill clinton was playing the saxophone while listening to that all right anyway if you have to be old enough to get them all right so here we go real or not real. This is courtesy of a great website. And we give them a shout out. It's called the wringer the wringer dot com. They talk about sports music. Pop culture really great stuff anita great article on their posted recently essentially taking questions for each of the eight. Nfl divisions turning them into statements. And we want to see whether the fellas agree with their statements. Are i felt ready to do this. Let's start in the afc east their statement about this division. Josh allen will stop believing. No josh allen will stop playing like jekyll and hyde key. No of course it is i win. You're talking about now the season i think he will. I think he will stop. Just start to play a little bit. Better he's had some good moments but every sits down loss key decided to make him an mvp candidate. It's all downhill from there. Not room not sold on him being consistently dominant. He's been he started season. Hot like keesa. Do had.

"Let him make one or two throws that can help us. But we're run the ball. We're gonna play defense and we're going to have success doing that because they knew how to manage tom brady. Tom brady was a backup. Drew bledsoe for now. Eventually he took over he became a starter he learned on the job he got into the situation and he just became tom brady. And that's the way you do things you know all of a sudden. Just throw a guy in there. Is you gotta do the same thing that the other guy did. It's like no man that dude the backup quarterback for reason. Well that's exactly what minnesota did right with kirk cousins. They only do the ball. fourteen times. Dalvin cook went to work. I mean you assume it will be the same game plan for the forty niners right hasty and let let them go to work and just try to pound the ball on the ground but the difference with kirk cousins is kirk cousins. The actually the started they pay a lot of money to throw the ball. But when you look at you look at. The strength of san francisco is probably running the football where the weakness on green bay's defense is the middle linebacker position so that's one of the things that scratch ahead. Everybody talks about trade deadline. Why we see where they needed to help. Aaron rodgers and davante adams in that group. They really needed some linebacker hill. They re they just for whatever. Reason didn't address the linebacker position. And so you saw exactly what happened against dalvin. Cook and vikings and i'm sure shanahan who likes to run the football Has taken note. You know a lot of times. You hear people say well you know. Coaching is so additive. I feel now. When i watched the forty niners it's kyle shanahan versus the green bay packers like that's what the matchup is to me right like no players in particular that i can call out for the forty niners. It's a coach's game plan and how he's pointing out altogether to stop aaron rodgers and the packers. Okay so it's time for straight talk. Brought to you by straight talk wireless. Let's go to the other side. Real quick with the packers when the packers were embarrassed by tom brady and the bucks. They bounced back the next week house. Houston thirty five twenty. It was not. It was a fifteen point game. You'll understand what i'm saying here wasn't nearly as close as it seemed yes. Fifteen is a large margin win on the road but they absolutely crushed houston. The game was over at the half. That was still bill. O'brien knows correct. That is still an brian too much better. But they did pick up a win without him on the other side. They're coming off another loss. This one to the vikings stunning in some ways the way minnesota did it with them running the ball j. referenced so key how do the packers bounce back tonight. The first time they came back with a vengeance. What are you thinking tonight. I think they are when you look at it. They're probably going to have a similar game plan. A similar attack Devante adams is back in the fold now two weeks so he's healthy. Lazar may come back. I don't know if he's out yet. A no he had some limited limited work. So they you know. They said that they're not setting a timetable but he did have some limited work. But i think it's all on air rogers Aaron rodgers has to go back into san francisco and redeem himself in a team from that. Nfc championship lost a year ago. Looking to do that so we'll see what happens. Last thing i want a match nick wagoner stat with one of my own. Nick was really good on the niners. Anybody touch the ball. Essentially an offense that played in the nfc title game against the packers. That's playing against the packers tonight. How about this one. The last nfc team to make the super bowl after losing in the super bowl the previous season. That's exactly where the niners are very lasted me one more time. This is exactly what the niners are at this moment. The last nfc team to make the super bowl after losing in the super bowl the previous year. Okay and fc super bowl loser the ability to just get back to the super bowl. Just get back. How long do you think it's been. Nfc loser in the super bowl. Just getting back to the super bowl. Twenty-six years little longer than that the vikings in nineteen seventy three in one thousand nine hundred seventy four. We're about to play super bowl. Fifty five for a little perspective. That was super bowl. Eight and super bowl nine. How about that. Think about that for a second straight. Talk wireless no contract no compromise on the way eight divisions in the nfl eight statements. What's real and.

"In better hands onto willing subic podcast. If you're old enough you might remember. This was actually the mantra. The song for president clinton when he was running for president. Don't stop believing as we wait to see who the next president will be. Obviously the worst bon jovi from bon jovi is from new jersey. Just like we are. We should mention president in bon. Jovi would that particular song would be what i would here in a bar in college. After i'd swallow couple slices of pizza and figure out what the long island iced tea is. How strong do you wanna be. Alcohol volunteered our along. Because i didn't drink at all in college until my senior year. And then i had a long island and then it was all downhill gear for deer. It's been all bad so we should mention that it's been all bad for the forty niners as well. Your situation cheap drake well. I don't know it depends. I mean long island is teaser. Kind of college college. It was like how many how much how much you're getting paid. I mean you to go to the duffel bag too far. I wouldn't get paid at usc. We don't do things we didn't pay. We don't pay players at usc. I'm just be honest with you. All right it's an escrow. I want you to be honest when you hear this from nick wagner. He's our forty niners reporter. This is just an unbelievable stat. The forty niners last year in the nfc championship game. They were right there in the super bowl. Patrick mahomes doesn't convert a third and fifteen for the ages. They're probably the super bowl champions from then to now they got the packers tonight and listen to their offense and where they are now compared to that night when they whip the pack and got to the super bowl to put it into perspective for for the listeners. The forty niners the packers played. I believe it was january twentieth. They played in the nfc championship game in that game. Seven players from the forty niners touched the ball Had something to do with you know. Moving the ball of their passing receiving or running the ball. None of those seven players will be available tomorrow night when they played the packers and the only one. That's not still on the team. As mad breed of the running back who was traded to the dolphins everybody else is either injured or on the covid nineteen list and they only have three starters on offense Who will be available tomorrow night and that the other two is your left guard. You're right tackle and fullback. How us checks okay. So obviously nick recorded that last night so when he says tomorrow night. He's really speaking of tonight just for clarity. They're gonna join us this morning at nine thirty five eastern and his counterpart rob demovsky who covers the packers for. Espn will join us at nine thirty. So if you're really interested you have an opportunity. Those guys will be with us at nine thirty and nine thirty five. Am eastern because bottom. Line is Nick said it's not just injuries. There's nobody issues related to them. So we'll get the very latest. The forty niners are sitting there with four wins. We discussed this yesterday. I'm not quite sure. How the even got two four seven giants was one. That's true they might have been to. They done a great job against the nfc east but then again who hasn't right it. This guy gets to seven winds up being a little z. Here honestly if the forty niners get to like seven wins seven nine who knows what the number seven seed in the playoffs could be this year since there's a seven seed and maybe an eight depending on what happens. If they go to sixteen team schedule there could be an eight seed. I'm not kidding. Finish like seven and nine. I think he deserves coach of the year votes. I really do well. You got to see. Who else is out there. But yeah he certainly is headed down there. Track right now has done a tremendous job with players in and out of the lineup. Starting with game one against arizona cardinals when people start falling like flies and then all of a sudden you got four wins on a year. Typically though when you lose players things start to go real bad especially when you lose a starting quarterback. I have perfectly personal experiences. Evan our producer were no. We lost vinny testaverde First game of the year and we couldn't get out our own way for about seven or eight games and then all of a sudden we started to click in. We got on track. We just it's like when you lose an important part of your team. You kinda like just walk in a fall for a long period of time and i think when nick bolsa got hurt you start man. They're in trouble here it end. Deebo samuel gets hurt a little bit and then now jimmy garoppolo this is. I believe this is jimmy. Second third time this year being hurt and having a mistime second right Second year with a high ankle sprain. So impressive to me that nick mullins is one on one. Nick is going on like how. How is that too as a guy. You've been around a lot of quarterbacks who come in and come out and just be ready to perform right now. Football's next man up still carrying that kind of responsibility. I mean we've seen so many other players is your struggle with is all about. Coaching is all about coaching. And understanding. your personality your players know who you have so you can put them in the right position to succeed. A lot of times coaches will take a guy like nick mullins and act like. He's tom brady. I know he's a backup for reason. He's not just started for reason. So you have to manage the situation a certain way when you think about it. The greatest quarterback that we've seen here in the last twenty years has been one guy. Tom brady tom brady. I took over. Drew bledsoe it was play defense.
Santa Claus won't be coming to Macy's this year
"Santa Claus is not coming to Macy's this year. Yep, a Fox affiliate, Channel five K V. V YOU TV in Vegas. They say that the Macy's and Associated Press they say that may see Santa Claus is not going to greeting. Consider its flagship New York store because of the Wrona. This is 160 year long tradition. More than a quarter of a million people go to Macy's just to see Santa, they said. It's gonna be hard to create a safe environment during a pandemic, so because you have to have being tight quarters, and it's like a maze through Santillan and his toy trains, and L since that scene was not going to get the Chicago or San Fran stores, either. And he is still going to be at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. But this is depressing. I am really sad. That's really sad. How sad is that? What in the world? Also

"At hand. You'd have to think with the eighth overall. Pick that this is a team. That's going to draft one of the talented offensive. Lineman that's available. Obviously one that fits their system whether it's tristen worse weather it's MCI Back Dean. Whether it's judge Rick Willis whether it's Andrew Thomas I have to imagine I'd be relatively stunned if one of those guys wasn't wearing a cardinal's jersey. Oh line or maybe you have a situation where brown falls. They could use some interior help. But Yeah I think Owen makes a lot of sense and you need to protect our investment Arizona cardinals definitely team. That will bear watching. Should be a Lotta Fun could potentially be involved in shootouts. And we're curious of course to see what the fantasy implications are for some of their key contributors. Now there's onuma might be heading in the right direction a team. That's definitely not in my opinion pain. That would be the Los Angeles. Rams they lose six starters from last year's team and when you look around at the way things have gone here we can talk about the departures. Brandin COOKS SHIPPED OFF TO HOUSTON. Give the rams credit for that particular deal with. They're able to get in return. They cut ties with todd. Gurley and his bloated contract defensively departures of Don Fowler. Cory Littleton Nickell. Robey Coleman and Clay Matthews. This is a team in a little bit of salary cap. Hell but what do you make of the rams and the direction that this team is headed knowing they got oh so close to winning that elusive super bowl but now seems to be a bit of purgatory in my opinion? I don't think you're wrong. In based on the contracts that were given out the last few seasons. When the rams were in this you know when now mode where it's do whatever it takes to win a super bowl is the fallout and unfortunately it comes without a ring. And I know Jared Goff's came out yesterday and he said Hey. Listen I'm all for restructuring my contract? Let's see if he does. But you know the reality right now is the rams. Were the only team in the NFL. Like operating at a financial deficit in terms of the salary cap. They are literally in the red as it stands today so the restructuring of contracts isn't done yet because they still have to sign a draft class. You know to me when you look at some of these guys departing Cory Littleton is one that stands out to me. That the likely mass. There's a huge void on the roster at inside linebacker and I think he is a player of value. When you look at the type of linebacker he is. He fits today's game. He's not a stout run support guy. But he's one of the best coverage linebackers last season. So I think they miss him. Dante follower you mentioned he departs for you know a big deal in. Atlanta has a chance to reunite with Dan Quayle. Who coached him when he was in college at Florida? So you'RE GONNA lose that production but at the same time you know. They made a play form but they weren't going to overpaid for him. The value just wasn't there So you're not GonNa you know retain a guy like that. I don't think with the current cap situation. You bring in Leonard Floyd you probably know more about him than I do With some of your contacts in Chicago but clearly underachiever to this point you'll lose macelroy Coleman as your slot corner that is that's one that's going to be tough. That is a huge loss and you know have obviously done some work in regards to him and you know when you look at him. there's only five corners that recorded more than four hundred coverage snaps in the slot. He was one of them. Zero point six three yards per coverage snap allowed last season all right. It's a massive loss and the eagles a home. Run THERE SEAN. Robinson I duNNo. He comes over to pair with Aaron Donald. I think he's been underachievers. Well where do you come out of Alabama? I think it was Two Thousand Sixteen like that that center. Yes I mean. He's an interesting guy. I think only because like you mentioned I mean being alongside Aaron Donald. He's not going to be asked to be the major disruptor. So we'll see if you can't benefit immensely by playing right next. Aaron Donald then guess what? You're you're one and done and whatever system your opponent. They signed him to a short term deal. More of a run stuffer attempt to take on two guys than a guy that creates a lot of pressure from the inside so hopefully he can handle that that task but I was looking at some of his season numbers and you know he was above average in two thousand seventeen had a great two thousand eighteen season and then in a contract year just absolutely a shit the bat a year ago. So maybe you know a fresh start and then playing next Aaron Donald Suddenly Robinson. Groom turned to that two thousand eighteen form offensive line you know retain some guys there and Whitworth and blyth the rams. Oh line actually if you kind of parse out some things once they made some late season adjustments they did start to play. Better like Goff's pressure rate finished at around thirty five percent which was down from its peak around forty early in the season they actually finished number one and adjusted. Zach rate allowed. So I think wanted some of that late season continuity to continue into the next season. Listen to put a bow tie in this to your point at the top there. It's clear the rams are on their way down here and they're trying to get water out of the boat without throwing the captain overboard so to speak so their hope is that they can eventually get to a point where they can make another push forward and get to shore safely. I just I don't know if there's certainly not a contender this year. They're third fiddle in the division. In really this is a team that that is going to be. You know a five hundred football team. I would think here the next few years so we get this cap situation figured out and then your goal is to then pressed forward but they had to get out of it at some point so I've seen a lot of people you know tweeting about all this dead space all his dead cap money on guys. You know you have to cut the cord at some point and it's better to do it earlier than later and so I think it was smart. Even though you're going to hurt this year getting guys like girly off the books getting a contract like cooks off the book and getting a second rounder in return like e. You just can't pass that up right now so I think cutting the cord on some of those big earlier rather than later is gonNA pay us. Some dividends in the future Levin picks the next two years in the draft. No first rounder this year. No I out her next year and one final thing pain new kind of wrap things up the rams. I have to ask you about former Florida state contributor on the defensive side I mean what are the Rams GonNa have to do to try and make sure they can secure Jalen Ramsey to a long term deal or is it even possible with some of the salary Cap Constraints? They have right. I think that's tough. I listen I think what they were doing with him as you again. They were all in on on trying to achieve a super bowl. It didn't quite come to fruition. It's going to be interesting to see what they do there What was his current deal? It was like four years for. He's still in his rookie deal. Raoult's well they kind of did like an a little extenders for years for twenty three was the initial deal. I don't know I don't know if they're going to have the money to to inc him to the kind of deal. He's looking for And you certainly gave up some capital to get 'em long term. I would think I don't know I don't know if it's feasible. I really don't. I mean they are some of these deals right when you look at the Michael Brocker sting like you know to the point. Is You have to figure out what you WANNA be. D- shed some of these contracts in a couple of games below five hundred or you sign a guy like Michael Progress and be five hundred like I just I. I think you might be better off of steps back to eventually move forward quicker and so when you do a deal like that certainly hinders potentially signing Ramsey long term. I don't know he's an interesting character. He's GONNA WANNA be paid I don't know what the resolution there is. Honestly I figure anyone comes from Florida state or spent time in Tallahassee is interesting character. President present company included the Michael Brokers thing. You mentioned awfully interesting especially when you consider the fact. He had a deal on the table with the ravens fell through and the rams go after him nonetheless t to try and retain him but no. Dow couldn't agree with you more in terms of a team. That's on the descent at least at this point. So it'll be interesting to see how they can keep some momentum breaking in a new stadium as they continue to try and forge ahead at least with what they think is their franchise quarterback when we look at the Seattle seahawks pain. This is a team that typically does more with last every single year defies. A lot of the metrics wins a ton of close games mainly because Russell Wilson just fines opportunities and avenues to make the plays when he needs to most they spent the offseason stockpiling seemingly every backup offensive. Lineman they could possibly find. I mean the list goes on and on earlier this week. They bring back Mike You Party. They have what I would define. I guess is a glut of interior offense of wine options. But none that we would call true bona fide starters or guys that were elite at this current point in time we know Pete Carroll likes to create competition. He's done a great job in doing that so far. But we look at the Seattle seahawks offense. They add Philip door set as well giving them another speedster to pair opposite tyler. Lockett Decay Metcalf Greg Olsen. Not too tight end. He once was but he'll be out there with Disley and Jacob Hollister I'll what do you make of what Seattle's doing offensively more so than anything else and we can get to the defensive side of Seattle's always a team Elliot's me a little befuddled and you know half a decade ago even further out? They were drafting guys that they like best and people would crap on them in their draft evaluation. They turn out to be good scheme. Fits and you know. Go on to win a super bowl and it's tough to Argue with what. They've done the problem is they. Haven't been drafting overly well in recent years and they're not the penny on line two and they're not the most sophisticated in terms of offensive capabilities. So they're always a team. Where like wise guys don't seem to like them but to your point. Russell Wilson kind of pulls them through and the moves with the offensive. Line are much needed. Because you look at Russell Wilson and his mobile as he was in the pocket presence that he has you still pressuring forty percents dropback slasher third most in the League and qualifying quarterbacks and you look at the offensive line and as much as they like to run the ball Schottenheimer. It was just an average. Oh line creating space in the ground game sixteenth adjusted line yards so you go out and you pick up guys like Brennan show. I don't know you know I was looking at some of his metrics as morning. Seventy third in pass block efficiency for all. Nfl tackles who appeared in eight or more games doing the math here. Thirty two teams to tackles dame you know so you look at Brandon Jelly responsible for allowing forty two pressures in fourteen games. Eighth most among tackles. And you start to look at. His trajectory and his best season ever was as a rookie. Fantastic one of the better pass blockers. But he's regressed each of the last three seasons over all the other name that's interesting here is is chance warm. Act I saw. And he's really just a name I think. A lot of people remember him from winning. Titles at like Alabama adopt ambig- but he has been a massive disappointment. He was a reserve for the eagles in two thousand seventeen in two thousand. Eighteen played seven total snaps in two thousand eighteen on offense for the Eagles is out of the league last year so to me. I don't think the seahawks are done with the offensive line. Keep your eye on them. Potentially as a team making a run at Trent Williams and not just because he can help in the now dwayne Brown turns thirty five in August..

"Seat. The thunder locked into where they are currently with only room to climb up. It's hard to imagine a situation where they fall in the standings thunder playing with house money. And you know me. I'm gambler on Saturday afternoon. The Oklahoma sooners faced off against the Oklahoma state cowboys and got a victory. Eighty two sixty nine their home floor. Yeah a two six nine Nice. The sooners were led by Brady Manic. Who after having a nice little hot stretch played so poorly against Kansas State on last Wednesday? You made up on Saturday Christian doolittle and finish. The game was six point. Dawson Reeves had twenty one and unexpected effort. The cowboys are still looking for answers. From just about anyone mcgriff had fifteen loss and Mike Boyd. Didn't exactly sugarcoated after the game. This cowboys team isn't looking good. Currently at ten and eleven overall an owner eight and conference play looking at their remaining schedule. It's hard to pick out a potential win. The sooners fourteen to seven and four and foreign conference play are still fighting to be a team that is in the bubble or in the tournament. This win doesn't really help with that. But good for bragging rights. Oklahoma state's next game is Wednesday night against Tcu at seven PM at home the sooners play tomorrow at Texas Tech in Lubbock at eight PM ON ESPN two. Now I would not be sleeping on Texas taxes because they're thirteen and eight and had the same conference records. Oh you the red raiders are coming off a win over West Virginia last week as well as only a three point loss in Kansas. This should be a tough test for the sooners and Brady Manic. Thanks for listening the big story today podcast and if you've been listening since the first week which was last week you know right here at the tail. End of the PODCAST. This is generally when I take it towards the movies or music or somewhere. I'm excited to eat not today. Obviously you keep up with the franchise. There's a ton of moving parts right now. Last Wednesday was a tough day for everyone was a tough day for me truthfully. I've been working for six years for a promotion and a full time position radio. I got that on Wednesday should have been the happiest day that I've had professionally long time. Let me tell you it was the toughest day I've ever had to be at work. I worked extremely closely with a lot of the people who were affected on Wednesday. I've met wives. I've met children and it goes without saying my heart broke on Wednesday for some of those who are affected. I knew that it wasn't a performance decision. I knew that it was a financial one so I also know that sitting in the chair than I am right now was Sam. Every day from three seven wasn't a performance decision. It was a financial one. I get that I'm not Koby Daniels. I'm not as good as colby. Daniels won't be Koby Daniels ever for that. I'm sorry you guys have made it very clear that you wish I was truthfully. I wish I was to Co. He's incredible but it's just not the case. It's me so now on every day from three to seven. Just GonNa be me and Sam and I'm just going to be trying to do my best version of me on a radio talk show like I said waiting for this for six years for hard for it. I didn't think it was going to be from three to seven my first opportunity coming off the back of what Wednesday was but it was and it is and I had nothing to do with it but I was affected by it in my way positive. So this isn't a mopey sad story but this is just the truth of it for me and I don't plan on addressing nece on the air or on twitter or on the text line or anywhere there. This is the one time I'll address it not because I'm shy about it and because I'm bashful of what happened. I know that I am lucky. Lot More lucky than skillful. I'm aware but out of respect for colby and Aaron and Gilman and Curtis Dez and Rufus and all the others who are affected. There's no need to drag this out. I'M NOT GONNA be able to replace what they did. For the franchise all I can hope to do is the best version of myself. And if that's not what you want I get it. You didn't sign up for it but also remember the radios free. There's a lot of moving in the background. And sometimes you're twenty six year old kid or not enough experience. Who just happens to be at the right place at the right time? You didn't choose to be there. You didn't make the decision but all you can hope. Turn your mic on and say something stupid. So that's I'm going to do every day all right. There's been the big story podcast which is M. Holland from the franchise podcast network. "And we just won the Super Bowl Kansas City coming home baby or Travis. Kelsey in the Kansas City chiefs are absolutely gonNa Lombardi all the way back home cassidy. Thirty One San Francisco Twenty. The game started out as every single. Playoff game has started for Kansas City. This postseason a three now which in and of itself as a shocking statistic team won the Super Bowl with the one of the most explosive offense. We've ever seen but started every single game. Punting San Francisco scores on a field goal in the next possession. Kansas City throws up a touchdown at the end of the first making it seven to three second quarter field goal from Kansas City. Right off the bat touchdown from San Francisco Late. Ten Ten tie bogging. This is where the first plot point starts with. Four minutes and fourteen seconds left in the half. Kansas City had the ball at their own. Nineteen Yard Line from their San Francisco. Had All three timeouts in general consensus says that you can call all three of those timeouts and if you get three stops you had the opportunity to get the ball back with a couple of minutes and maybe the two minute warning. San Francisco chose not to go down that road from fear of giving Kansas City extra plays or or possibly fear of pressing their lock even more than they already had. It was a questionable decision from Kyle. Shanahan to not try to give his offense won more possession especially after a seven play eighty yard drive in four minutes and twenty seven seconds. Where look like Jimmy Garoppolo? George Kill Deebo Samuel Rolling. Both teams seem content going into halftime tied at ten ten. Now opening up the second half and the very first possession possession of the third quarter San Francisco scores on a field goal. The next possession Patrick mahomes interception followed by San Francisco touchdown at this point with five minutes. Twenty three seconds left in the third quarter. San Francisco's up twenty to ten the very next possession. Another Patrick mahomes interception up ten after getting a turnover from the Kansas city chiefs. You must feel pretty confident. If you're a San Francisco Forty niners Fan Kyle Shanahan who has experience in being in the super bowl up by a large margin surely would know what to do from here on his next five plays Golf Shanahan called four passes his drive to going three minutes and four seconds off? The clock only won seventeen yards for before punting the ball right back to Kansas City and then Patrick mahomes took over including a forty four yard. Long Bond Tyreek Hill. Tim plays eighty three yards in two minutes and forty seconds. Kansas City put up a touchdown to pull the lead within three San Francisco. Twenty Kansas City. Seventeen the next possession for San Francisco should all be predictable on first down and ten was six thirteen left in the fourth quarter and a three point. Lead San Francisco sets up and runs the ball off the left tackle for five yards perfect. Keep the clock moving second down shocking past the George biddle incomplete. Third Down and five shotgun right to boone. Incomplete Punt San Francisco. Took a minute and three off the clock on a three and out. Now I'm not going to criticize CAL Shanahan too much because he knows more about football than I ever possibly could but based off what we've seen from coach Shannahan in these situations. He should be pretty predictable especially on first and entertaining five on one run play but Shanahan got away from the run and gave the ball right back to the Kansas City chiefs with five minutes left down three. Patrick Mahomes is only Patrick. Mahomes can seven plays sixty five yards in two minutes and thirty seconds later including a couple of speed options scored a touchdown at the Kansas City. Chiefs Up Twenty four to twenty the following possession for San Francisco is all but pretty leading to a final fourth down and ten were Jimmy. Garoppolo got sacked for a loss of nine yards. Frank Clark from there. The story was over. Damian Williams rushed for another touchdown two plays later extending lead from thirty one to twenty but the Super Bowl came down to just nat the greatest player in the League by a pretty considerable margin making the biggest plays in the biggest game at the biggest time despite playing poorly for three quarters of it. But that's what the great ones do. I don't know if this is a new generation of quarterbacks. I don't know of Patrick. Mahomes is going to be a guy that we all look to for the next fifteen twenty years as leading the NFL. But I can tell you if you're going to put my money on anybody. It would have to be Patrick. Mahomes Damian Williams. The local Oklahoma running back from San Diego made a lot of noise in this one hundred yards two touchdowns one receiving one rushing something that maybe he should have been the super bowl. Mvp I don't know if I'm willing to go. That far but Damien Williams had great game. Afterwards he was asked about his performance in what it took to get him where he is a long journey. Been able to come here on drafted make plays for these for these guys for the organization and being able to have the chief kingdom see some men me coming off. Injury means a lot to give off each and every time with on the San Francisco. Forty niners team might be more interesting than the Kansas City chiefs team. That just won the superbowl. Kansas City has their quarterback. There's no questions. He's the best player in the League. They have their head coach. They have their wide receivers. They know their core. They know the Path Ron San Francisco would tell you. They're probably in the same situation. I would tell you if I was gonNA hire anyone in the NFL. Right now Kyle. Shanahan would be a very very early call for me. He's also crossing into uncharted waters. This is from a sports couch. Shanahan has been outscored. Forty six two zero inside the fourth quarter of the ten minute. Mark in the last two Super Bowls. He's coached in. Espn win probability. In Two thousand sixteen had him in a ninety nine point six percent chance to win at one point yesterday ninety five point three that would just got done praising Andy Reid for the Great Coaching job. He did this year and rightfully so a lot of his losses in the postseason that he got blamed for truly felt like luck. I don't know cal Shanahan's losses so far through his tenure as an offense coordinator as a head coach our luck or poor coaching. But I'm not going to default to the latter cal eight and hands great coach. Who's got a great great offense of mind but the question really is going to come back to Jimmy Garoppolo especially after this play airs it out. Sanders. Downfield is overthrowing an hour. The minute thirty three left. Its fourth and ten Jimmy Garoppolo. In the fourth quarter down by four had an opportunity with a wide open Emmanuel Sanders. Streaking down the middle of the field. To throw a game winning touchdown now. I made the joke on twitter. That of Jimmy. Garoppolo would have connected with that touchdown it would help lead him to his third Super Bowl in five years. Which is literally true. But a lot of context add. They're now just like to say if history's taught us anything this San Francisco team that seems to be so loaded. Talent from top to bottom who's biggest weakness might be the fact that they have the fifteen best quarterback in the League won't make the playoffs next year. Which is really hard to imagine. Outside of the New England Patriots. The rule is if you lose in the Super Bowl your next season's awash now trends to be broken in history doesn't apply to everyone all. I would say I don't know if I'd be counting on the San Francisco Forty niners this time. Next February the Super Bowl also gives us a ton of great memories. Halftime shows always a highlight for people who are really interested in the game in the first place might just be there for the commercials. This halftime show was no different. It was making the rounds on social media. People having a reaction one way or the other but it also gave us one iconic moment and I can't wait to see used over and over and over repetitively social media for the next six months. It reminds me a lot of the Left Shark from the Katy. Perry halftime funeral. Remember just search left Shark on Youtube. I promise you it'll be the best thirty seconds you spend your day. But last night we got this from Shakira. Yeah that I. I don't know how to describe it in. I don't know how to even make fun of it. If there was a way to. All I can say is that audio along with the video. We're going to be all over twitter for the short while memorable moments people appreciate the mother here. There was another sport going on this weekend outside of the Super Bowl which is hard to imagine especially for someone like me but the Oklahoma City Thunder did play on Friday night against the Phoenix Suns. And we previewed this game as being a real test for Lou dirt in his defensive ability of verse Devon Booker a guy who should have been in the All Star game in his is trying to get revenge against the league well. The thunder did what they always do. Sadly they got down by a deficit in the fourth quarter but luckily for them as they always do the thundercloud right back into the game. Lead behind Chris Paul yet again now. It's encouraging about this. Win is first off. It was on the road and Oklahoma City started out there. Road Record Owen six. Since then they're fifteen and four. The Oklahoma Thunder have been incredible in Rhode Victory. So far the other positive. Take away from here. Shakira's Alexander played poorly in this one. He was five sixteen from the floor over five from the three point line and really look like a liability on the offensive in struggling to make just about anything. Couldn't get to the free throw line but had nine rebounds and four sist- The thunder one in spite of that. They want basically on the back of Chris. Paul and Dennis Schroder the trade deadline. Is this Thursday. Three days from today Adrian Origin House-key in post yesterday afternoon hinted that Stephen Adams is still very much available in trade talks. You have to believe to this point. Dennis Schroder is as well and you'd be hard pressed to find a better bench score in the League right now. Oklahoma City now getting a well deserved few days off in the month of January. They didn't have two days off in a row for the entire month now. They don't play again until Wednesday when they go home against Detroit at this point. Oklahoma City is thirty and twenty on the season. They're still sitting in seventh in the Western Conference. But they're just a half game behind the Dallas Mavericks One game back in the loss column. Oklahoma City is still trying to make an effort to crawl up these playoff standings. Now if you're out there wondering what the differences between the seventh seed and the sixty. Let's say would you rather play the Los Angeles Clippers Denver Nuggets if you can find a way to avoid the seventh or the eighth seed this season? I don't Hate Oklahoma. City's chances of making it to the second round as long as they're not playing the Utah Jazz. Oklahoma City is also closer to the clippers and the second seed than they are to the Memphis Grizzlies.
The predatory publishers sucking science's blood (Summer Season)
"Quake the doot of a Predator as a reporter. You get all kinds of of little suggestions. Tips complaints this. And you can't deal with them all. This one intrigued me. I had started to hear about similar complaints and sort of once. You hear enough of them the signal adds up you think. Maybe there's a story here. What was I seeing What what the clued that? That Mela rash well. I was a researcher myself. I was a faculty librarian at my university and I did. Research probably starting five six years ago I I was always looking for publishing opportunities. I started getting letters and I started to receive these emails. Sort of saying extremely nice. Nice things to me that basically said call for Paper Journal Editors Wanting Me To submit my manuscript to their journal and they had lots of grammatical errors in addition to that one and the emails and then generally speaking editor. I don't say very nice things about you and they don't typically they don't write to you and ask you to submit a manuscript. Will you ever tempted to meet. No no I mean I'm a clinical epidemiologist in some of these journals were lifted from soil. Science right why would somebody from soil science be asking me saying Nice things about me. They wouldn't no me from anywhere he's smells a rat. I did maybe several but that rash or several thousand read via now. Well and truly on the loose predatory publishes and the Predatory Journal has become a mega industry global in reach ending ending destructive potential. In fact you're going to hear from someone who believes that the industry represents the big threat to don in the inquisition shen the US. Federal Court recently ordered one of the biggest of the company to pay up over fifty million. US dollars only make. International headquartered voted in Hyderabad in India but also operating in the US climbed the publish hundreds of medical journals found to employ deceptive business practices essentially entrapping fantasy to offer published in the Journal or participate in conferences. The Doug the ruling bye-bye predatory publishes well. Let's see if Any of that money actually moves anywhere. It's not clear with a the group will cough up that fifty million dollars which is an estimate of how much the company made from customers over a period. All whether we'll appeal we tend to leave leaked of question to its representative yet to receive a reply but it is nice. Clear message to all the Sake Journal. Publishers of the world that they're being watched watched and there could be consequences. Joan Bohannon thought journalists and now director to add an artificial intelligence data in San Fran called primer. They didn't biscuit slipping under the radar. And using American Canadian European banks to move money millions of dollars of money from a complicit gains so this court ruling basically makes that extremely inconvenient to do now. John was to present evidence in the kite board again. Anthem IQ Group by the Federal Trade Commission. Because he'd had an unusually Hansa with the publisher so all mix was one of hundreds of publishers offers that I tested in sting operation. I wrote some computer code to generate thousands of very bad scientific papers. They have been negative kind of legendary inside the back in two thousand twelve John Reporting for the general died and the Expression Predatory Journal Common News. there was a guy named Geoffrey Yu who was probably the only person around making in a big public. Stink about this and trying to actually Shine a light on it. It was very very bold effort. He had something called feels list or at least it became known as beal's lest my name is Jeffrey Bill. And I'm a retired academic librarian from University of Colorado Denver. But make the deal. Beal Blackley fame and a climb and karate he was the first to coin. The Phrase Predatory Journal the Journal. Publishers hated being malysz because it it stigmatizes them in meant that their income was decreased. Most of the predatory publishers are predatory not only in their publishing but in just the way they operate in general and they would use the heckler's actors veto. They would call the library director and complain about me and they would try to annoy people at my university as much as possible in order to manipulate those people at the university to make me stop the list so that their complaints would stop. I also received several threats of legal action including think it was is in twenty twelve international threatened to sue me for one billion dollars one billion dollars. It was just a threat. What I learned from it is that you can basically basically pay an attorney? Five hundred dollars all right a threatening letter so they they did that but they never followed through with. It was never introduced in any court consequences consequences. Jeffrey of running that black leaked were immense. And I'll come back to that. One estimate suggests that there are at least eight thousand predatory journals it is just one publisher of many but Jeffrey Bill provocatively cold. The the evil empire of Predatory Publishing I stand Dan by that statement and what they do is they really hurt a lot of people. You know the scholarly publishing system works on the honor system and people operate in good faith but oh mix international has has totally broken all that down. They use a lot of spamming to solicit article manuscripts from researchers they have journal titles that match the titles of respected journals. Usually one word off enough to confuse people that it might be the respected journal in the `field they will at People's names to their editorial boards without the person's permission people from top universities top researchers in the field and they'll use their identity to promote the journal and when the person finds out about it and ask them to remove their name. They don't remove it they just leave it there because they're operating operating from foreign country. There's really nothing you can do about it. And they especially prey on young researchers in emerging researchers researchers who don't speak English as their first language. It's not just dont. As from developing countries that a toggle though that even acknowledged problem clinical epidemiologist. David moas taste the Croats at reaching into some of America's most delayed institutions including Harvard in the analysis that we did where we looked at a close to two thousand thousand articles published in Predator journals. We found that actually the most frequent corresponding authors were from what we would call first world countries countries with lots of money and lots of resources that is troubling very troubling because it suggests that at these institutions authors may not Be Aware of predatory journals and are we need to obviously ramp up some educational activities. People think that they're sending the manuscript to a legitimate respected journal. When it's really just a phony dough mix international journal and then they quickly accept the paper without any peer review and then send them an invoice and that point the authors realized that something is wrong because There was really no peer reviewed done yet papers accepted and they have this two thousand dollars invoice that comes through email and the olmecs demanding payment. Most of them asked to withdraw the paper when they realized that they've been duped. But then omits says says you can't withdraw your paper unless you pay US withdrawal fee. An often than olmecs will publish the article quickly and one of their journals and then and they can't submit it anywhere else. Because that would be duplicate submission it would be publishing the same article twice. which is something not supposed to do that? Nothing about Predatory Street Journal devoted to pose to happening time as John Bohannon Govett when he hit them. Attest yes yeah so I just wanted some data. It's frustrating to have such an enticing story of you know bad actors that potentially raking in millions of ill-gotten dollars dollars and not get some data to find out if it's true. We stay in molecular biology from offered. Clave he plotted experiment which was pretty straightforward. And the idea in a nutshell is if I submit a really and I mean truly bad scientific paper to your journal final and you accept it with no sign of any peer review and you asked me for money then you're you're a fake journal Publisher Sharma sure. Yeah John Wanted to take to how easy it was to get published in a predatory journal it can usually take many months used even to get a pipe into a reputable contact general and even then it's not a given that partly because of what's called Peer Review essential to the conduct protest. You Do Fairmont you. You brought it up reporting your results. Submit it to a journal and then it pulled destroyed by a bunch of other daunting
Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy targeting Jim Tomsula for defensive line coach
"Dallas cowboys are reportedly interested in hiring jim tom soula the former san francisco forty niners head coach had one cup of coffee in san fran as as their defensive line coach which would be fantastic he is regarded as one of the best defensive line coach is in recent memory so that would be fantastic and another piece of news on top abba dallas cowboys apparently have an ideal candidate it would seem to be special teams coordinator john fossil the son of jim fossil john has been the special teams coordinator for the rams in two thousand and twelve was obviously on jeff fisher staff part of the group that moved to los angeles from saint louis in fact he was the interim head coach win the rams fired jeff fisher before the two thousand sixteen season ended in sean mcvay kept him around bones as as fossil is referred to is regarded as one of the best special teams coaches in the NFL NFL so that is very exciting

"Bay at all. I think New Orleans this year you know after last year's debacle versus the rams that referee crap. I think they go in honesty when the super bowl say flat out they definitely have a chip on their shoulder. They only had three losses. This is this year to flu. Glosses one who Atlanta which. They knew that they played horrible. That Sanford game. which was the last person to have the ball that was that it was? I think New Orleans will go into San Fran in the NFC championship in and bounced back against them and win the Super Bowl. I just think we know that they're they've been

"A Thursday night definitely check out my next thing this goes with your your like amy. Schumer messy beam karaoke at butter. So butter is a white white trash themed bar which we love. And I'm allowed to say away trash because I'm from Kentucky in you're allowed to say white trash because I was born Bakersville. Yes I was going to say it so basically really every Sunday night. Butter does Kariuki. So you can get like you're white trash themed drinks which talk about later and you're white trash themed food think like you know deep fried twinkies and Ravioli out of a can and sing Karaoke and like you might be picturing like some down home you know drunk Mascaro key but this is like this is like we're series Carrio years like come to play this highbrow hot Mascara. There's actually like a competitive like Karaoke teams Francisco this up. It's one guy I. It has a competitive shirt I don. I can't vouch for this that it's an actual league. But he does. We did see a shirt one time. So you like nine and basically you need one song and you can having to have practiced your song. Because you're only going to get the thing. The song and I know that sounds less fun. But it's way more fun because you feel like a rockstar. And we'd love Karaoke butter so much that we actually hire the Karaoke Dj EJ to do our wedding reception. 'cause we had karaoke wedding reception and it was awesome. Yeah he's also got like really cool selection of of songs that you you've definitely heard these songs things whether they were in like video games or like obscure references deep you goes. He's got a deep bench. Yeah but there's also a caveat if you're going to sing Bohemian Immune rhapsody or don't stop believe in you have to pay five dollars. Yeah the Katie days name is Roger Niner. We love him he also does the same. Where like if you're sucking on your song? He will jump. I've been an sing with you. And he he has the voice of an angel. It's not just if you're sucking on it if he's also into the Song Oh yeah and they'll harmonize with you. You don't have to do at partner. He'll be your duet partner. It's it's actually so fun and you'll probably see us there if you go because we go a lot. I usually do under pressure with him. That's pretty mercury. Yeah I usually do Britney spears. It's still a show. I also do Johnny Cash. It's easy go to. We should probably move to the next auto okay so my next one is exploring golden gate park which talked about. We talked about Cal Academy we talked about the Bison. It's huge Golden Gate Park. We already said it's bigger than Central Park. It's it stretches all the way from Like the Haight Ashbury neighborhood which you've probably heard of because hippies to the ocean is enormous and you could just spend all day walking through it biking through it like you'll probably come come across lake some cool hippies that have been there since the sixties you'll probably come across like random other museums the museum there which is really awesome and it's just gorgeous. There's a beautiful Japanese garden in the middle of their and you just feel like you stepped into Japan. There's just so much to do in there. You could spend days just getting lost in there and then while you're on that side of the city my other one that I really love in that area is called the batteries to bluffs trail so this is one of my favorite places to view the Golden Gate Bridge. Because you've always he's got to look at it right like you can't come to San Francisco and not take a bunch of bridge southeast but if you go to like the touristy bridge spot there's just a bunch of tourists and a parking lot and it's just like not the best so head up the road a little bit. And you'RE GONNA go into the presidio which is like this beautiful national not national. It's a state park but anyway it's just like park area around the Golden Gate Bridge and and there's this trail that runs from these old historic batteries. All the way down to the ocean and at the bottom of the ocean when you get to the end of the trail is a nude beach which is just a fun little San Francisco experience. You know you can't really you can't say you've been a San Francisco if he didn't like some deck. It's not directly at the bottom of the stairs. You gotta you gotTa wonder around the bottom bottom of the stairs and five feet. I believe this is also where burning man was started right. Yeah Yeah so But that's definitely the best place to see the Golden Gate Bridge and it's just a beautiful. It's like one mile trail and it's just it's lovely highly. Recommend what are your favorite. Must Do's so mine are a few minor pretty seasonal the first one which okay. I'm way too old to party anymore. I got that all out in the twenty s but I will say that one of the best parties by far is Beta breakers which happens in the spring and it's a marathon that starts at the bay so on the eastern side of the city and it goes goes down market street and down Hayes all the way over to the ocean on the other side and just making this sound exhausting. It's a marathon but that's not at all it matters. No that's like that's like like what it is on the surface but really what it is is everybody follows the marathon runners and just parties through the city. Everyone gets in crazy costumes costumes and everybody tries to hide alcohol because like officially you can't have alcohol but everyone is drunk and UC super interesting costumes. And it's all like these group costumes. Our favorite one was a group dressed as the Jurassic Park ride. They even had a tyrannosaurus rags and he would like come pop up and they would all be like They had the little yellow strap said they would like get into order. It was super cute. I just love how you're doing. Like rollercoaster moves right now which nobody nobody can see. Because it's a podcast. While I was doing rollercoaster moves anyway. It's a huge part of. There's so many like house parties that you pass along the route to. It's just so much fun. My I like week week that I was in San Francisco was Beta breakers and I live on the route and my roommates just woke me up with a pin gwyn costume a shot and a PBR. And he was like it's it's Beta breakers will explain later. Don't let anyone use our bathroom which you did not follow. No I did follow it but the year before they didn't they let one person in the bathroom and then they got finished getting ready and they walked out and there was like a line of twenty people in the living room. Those informative dead. Yeah but it's Super Fun Even if you're not a big drinker last time we were there we were sober and we still had a lot of fun. You do have to be comfortable with naked people because like we said it is legal here in nudity is just part of Beta breakers and and you just you gotta learn to live with that. You're in San Francisco. We usually start like a bet that is boobs buts or Dick's game which twins we're GonNa see the most of and we keep a running tally which I've realized that's always win. It covers their but but they're like oh but frying fall hanging out now but they're always out that's always win running out scalise. That's always my other must do. My other recommendation is a picnic and Dolores Park fellow. I'm hoping we cut that out now. We're not cutting it out. Dolores Park is a park between the mission and the Castro throw. It is one of the most beautiful views and it's always got the best weather and it's real easy to spot because everyone is going. They're not even. I'm just on a weekend weekdays two. It's always filled with people drinking becoming like nobody in San Francisco has job. Apparently everyone brings their dogs. Everyone ruined brings like some elaborate game. I remember seeing giant beer pong where they had like the rubbermaid trash cans instead of Red Solo Cup. That's amazing and they use a beach ball. I I may actually be able to do that. I'm pretty good at that. There's also a Guy Michael also known as the room coconut guy. He's got long dreads and he just walks around with bag of Michetti and a cooler and he'll just pull a coconut out and offer you like a coconut and then he'll hack it up and then pour rum and and if you want and there's the girl with the Swiss Miss Outfit with edibles yeah she's got edibles of all kinds like and they're all serial based so it's like I really like fruit. I really like APPLEJACK applejack so I wanted to have an apple. Jacks edible and no like weed is legal in California but this has been going on since longtime ago way before it was actually legal legal. But they're still they're like they don't care anytime somebody and Dolores Park walks up and like offers you something just you know by it. It's probably fine but also assume it's got weeded. There's even an app you can find your friends in Dolores. Park dislike most San Francisco APP that I've ever heard of this is called Dullsville another thing that I always say to do and again this is only half the year but you have to go to a giants game Oracle Park is beautiful eighteen. At and T.. Sorry I know it used to be used to be packed bill. No that's too old. Yeah so it's one of the most actually is the most beautiful park in the country. Ballpark I mean. Is that just like you saying that or no. That was the Major League Baseball Association. Okay they have a ton of great food. Because because it's San Francisco. We have the best food. Don't add me but got really good. Food are like garlic. Fries are seem so good. Our team used to be good. Wow how I don't think a lot to be fan if you say that no years. That hasn't been even years have been the case since two thousand fourteen go is all right. I I live in Oakland all right. There's also really good drink. Drink options Gear Deli has like salted caramel hot chocolate thousand. That was what I was GONNA say him. Go see a game but it does get freezing if it's a night game or blazing hot if it's a day game. Yeah because there's a lot of sun exposure and you also get really like moist like if you're still at the park nine pm. No it's true like moist because the fog rolls in the fog rolls in and you you just realize you're just soaking wet. Even though it's not raining in theory and then Siegel start like circling overhead. And you just Kinda round like ten. PM You just. I just feel like you're in like the birds you got out of there. If you've ever been to a baseball game you know that around the seven and seventh innings. Stretch your thinking. Oh they're up by a few points. The game might might turn. But you also know that there's very few dramatic endings to baseball games. So I will say that if you get to that point and you realize the game's GonNa go one way. Just go just go. It's impossible supposed to get on the first train home. You're going to be there. You'RE GONNA be out until midnight. My fourth thing is to see a show now that a few things so it can mean a concert a play it could mean drag show There's tons of news where this is possible. There's a lot more independent places like Bottom of the hill is a smaller caller venue. But it's really famous because a lot of now famous people have played there. The mission has a ton of different venues. Protrero Hill has a lot. The tenderloin has a lot so you can just find like either a small or a large one and most days of the week. There's GonNa be a concert a drag show or play so the orpheum and the act theater have off Broadway shows so we just saw Hamilton there. All right. We're not going to talk about that. I didn't hate it I just anyway. We're going to do things a lot for putting me on blast on our podcast. Our favorite drag show is coming up.
NFL's Braylon Edwards tells all in new book
"Our next guest had a legendary career at Michigan he was outstanding receiver in the NFL he is the author of a new book in the title really does say it all doing it my way my outspoken life as a Michigan Wolverines NFL receiver and beyond it's a pleasure to welcome to this sporting life the one and only Braylon Edwards Braylon thank you for joining us. the long time it's been a long time since we spoke at an end and as you were dressed in the book Braylon when people think about you they don't just think about your talents as a receiver they don't think about the big games that AC title games or the rose bowls they think about the controversies what you you delve into them in this book why did you want to you know dredge all that stuff up. a lot of times people get attention as they tell their story or what exactly happened so one thing come out is more so with the perception is that the time and then it becomes a story and in all the years you know and that's what it is written in stone so it was a good time for me to be able to tell all the stories and under every story from do you eyes two incidents outside my clothes will arise and people works better there were other things at at playing in those situations but I just sold you know not saying anything but the media dictate that the media the media personnel for markings dictate a on one matter and I got quiet never said anything and those things never get a chance to you know get toggle plus a lot of good things happen to you know there's a lot of philanthropic endeavors that happened a lot happier off the field have a great there are a lot of other things to talk about you know depression bullying when I was a kid so it's a heck of a store and has a lot of things that we can put out there in the book speaking with Braylon Edwards the former Pro Bowl receiver the former Michigan Wolverines star he was the third overall pick in the two thousand five NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns it only your third season in the league Braylon you at twelve hundred eighty nine receiving yards right AT receptions are your pro bowler you had some other good years notably with the jets in twenty ten almost a thousand yards receiving but you're clear didn't go the way you hoped it would go eight and and although he lasted much longer than most last in the NFL you you you were someone who is thought of as a hall of fame talent. if their injuries there are other things that went on what was it like just being caught up in that maelstrom and and not being able to get every ounce of your talents to use every ounce the weight that you would have wished our records right you know a lot of times he says spray Kato where you go online for you were you drafted what can you play for I was not at the Cleveland Browns and United play with injuries and uncertainties and continue with. in your world organizational changes office according to head coach ownership ID with kids go to New York Jets have young quarterback was did it for us but there wasn't a lot of. Aaron it outside there were you going to have success then I had a knee injury San Fran I rushed back to the field to get out there because your Harbaugh's how could a person on and it was the first time I hadn't been in a stable situation you know I got that right is a one year deal there was no stability there was no next year there was no gas I was going to start so when I got hurt when I was starting to try to come back try to rise back needed never was the same a play for Seattle I still feel the nails in quarters on sat I'm way way too young at their target core those that travel more time with jet and two thousand thirteen and Lincoln totally with Michael in the preseason against the Jaguars. it is it was times that I mean I I I will smite curricula definitely connect them when I was a kid the one of those guys. got drafted in the end of the first round to the coat so to the you know to a team that won the cowboys Burgoon a play yard can do more to maybe just have a consistent office right you know it is clear that I had seventeen quarterbacks and and for that reason I remember I remember all those guys no no I mean it's hard to remember all of them but I remember that there were a lot of them yeah I mean it was the with Braylon Edwards and his new book is doing it my way my it's spoken life is a Michigan Wolverine NFL receiver and beyond really before we let you go it's great catching up after all these years but you've been out in the news a little bit recently you're talking about your alma mater talk about your former coach Jim Harbaugh and and the words you've used I think are light years behind that team in Columbus Ohio a lot Ohio state and it's it's everyone's entitled to their opinion and I would never discourage anyone from sharing their opinions especially someone with the standing that you have what makes you say that the other than the fact that Michigan's lost fourteen out of fifteen to Ohio state well for them and that's a great start but United in the in the space of the conversation that was more so long live. as they have the idea of a state trooper who over the last year he started without one which says look from trestle so first we'll start a minor. by my Dennis they're gonna have a quarterback that can run quarterbacks that can pass the ball sort thank you have athletes at the wide receiver position they could take the ball and taunted him call back and have a great run again and I have great uses if you look at the changes over the last eighteen years they all have the same I didn't you know how they're able to have success in order to be a national championship game you have to have the formula is you need a defense that can play and win games defense bill instead but you have to have a quarterback yeah arguably in highland conversation that definitely should be first team all conference and you have to have a running back that is potentially a second round us or in the hive in conversation apply when you look at certain things all have stayed in one of when you watch them play you see a team that you know has the potential to be there at the end of the year we watch Oklahoma we watch the cleanse Alabama Georgia where you are these things you see something bad okay this is this is even ten straight year with a Honda fit yet so you know that we watch miss again you have the same question each year by year who's going to be the quarterback who's going to run the ball on this game hasn't had that yeah all dirt like Lansing Michigan office is that lived in our rabbit I do not around and finished in two thousand twelve two thousand thirteen and before that you know who the other guy you know was listening at the wide receiver play make would like this guy's just it is with the the creme de la creme like he's the one I don't mean to talk about my is usually does our ideas right. nineteen ninety six so what's being said ideas on that that was going to take forty Janes national I mean by light years behind my house they get sick and they stay true lies we've been asking the same question of Michigan there's love the arms of our book let's go the radio because the rates right every year who's the quarterback the quarterback gonna be who's going to be an issue I can always between three guys it's never a guy would never moving the next season of their lives guys come back we're gonna build around him even this year's like say that is in that wires yeah this is what I said okay last year but even if your life is your McAfee gonna be you guys Joe Miller even twenty years ago when one of those guys was named Tom Brady couldn't get the job exactly or did you incident Brady is it US got left cooking the bouldering so it's always a question about the way I received right I have you so those are questions at the major institutions that away those are not the question so I did and that's what I mean by light years I know people eight years I would say in the way. that's what I mean the identity has not been there it's it's tough love for Braylon Edwards for his beloved Wolverines his new book is doing it my way my outspoken life and it is still outspokenness Michigan Wolverine NFL receiver and beyond Braylon as I said it's a pleasure catching up with you and congratulations with the book and a good luck with us on as many as possible so I like to tell the others to come on the show. thank you maybe I will we'll catch up with the recap in a round thanksgiving before those they I would love to do

Okay. So it is just the end of Thursday. And we I have just wrapped up being a guest on the. Mobile tech podcast. Starring none. Other than Miriam polo t. Hey, how's it going? It's gonna fight for me. But really the big question is how's it going for you? Because after what you've been here since when since Saturday morning, something that's five days, just as I have been here for Saturday five days. So long time it is. And the grind really gets. You doesn't it? Where are you out those rests? Timing to CS fun. And you get to see all the people. You wanna see seal tag, even the some of it is a little boring silly. But it's just it's just I love trade shows because in one sense, it's about the people, you know, that's a good thing. But then there's the about the people, which is bad thing because you have to deal with your with Vegas, y'all. It's like, I love hate Vegas hated. I love it. Because it's like thought home syndrome. A little bit. I kinda like it because I've never been here as a truce of only ever been here as a worker working. And so it's not about place to work. It's not at the same time. You know, the smoker snows casinos. The walking guy gets to your car is everywhere. It's logistically difficult here. "One FM. Dave Logan, the head coach Vance Joseph from Oakland Alameda County Coliseum. We are thirty minutes or thereabouts away from tonight's game. With the Broncos on the road facing the Oakland Raiders, this might very well be the last time the raiders play here in the stadium. I don't know if you get caught up in it. But yeah, they've had they've had quite the history here in. So I would imagine if in fact today's players really care about that. But I would think some of the coaches in the front office types from Oakland with like to find a way to win what could be their final. Absolutely. It's going to be an emotional game. These guys obviously that could be the last game here I worked in San Fran for seven seasons. So I get it. You know, it's a it's a special place. So we got a player best football to make him unhappy tonight. You have I mean, the Broncos have have really fared well against the raiders recently found a win win that game earlier this season back in Denver. They have struggled immensely in yet. You look look at some of the games they beat the Browns. They beat the Steelers played very well. And yet they found ways to win when you just think about the season being over players, Dave, you know, I mean, they have a really good old line dominant D line. So if we don't play, well, they can beat us. Also, you know, it's going to take our best performer still win this game. So we gotta be locked in tonight. You guys don't have to tell you out of the playoff race. Yeah. I played a couple of seasons. When I remember late in the season we were out, and it it. It's interesting sort of the dynamic of the locker room, and depending on sort of your mindset individually, but but how have used or have you had to sort of deal with that moving forward from head coaches? Because it's a it's a tough deal. You're out you have two weeks to go, and no football's a tough sport. So if you're mind's not right bad things can happen. So each man has to find his y you know, we'll have our y you know, while we coach while we play. So we'll find out tonight and play. Well, I've got to address this all sorts of rumors circulating some about you some about players. How do you individually? Sort of get through that right? Thank you. Just enjoy the moment. You know? It's a it's a it's a great job in the future is obviously not not clear right now. But we can't worry about that. I don't worry about that. You know, my focus is on our team, and our coaches and plan a best ball. We can play tonight. All right. We'll come back to Oakland and continue our conversation with the head coach Vance Joseph Broncos and the raiders coming up. But I these messages on the KOA Broncos radio network..

So we're talking about the market short sales are up the I mean, they're coming back. I had to if you go to equator dot com. You'll find me there Maryanne Dorna, and what are the things that is really telling is the map that they have up. And what does that mean? Well, right now, there's fifty six thousand one hundred and thirteen active are ios in the nation. That's just in a nation. Now funny thing is Florida's leading away. They're a red state literally speaking there also read with short sales are kind of leading the way in California. Hey, we're we're coming up pretty close. Okay. So we need to be able to offset that by knowing what to do and nine what to do is. A short sale is when before it was when the prices were upside down, the the heart the value of the loan was more than the value of the home. So it like drop by half if not more at some cases, and nobody wanted to pay those high mortgage. Head vertically those very exotic mortgages based on like eighty twenty hundred percent loans and all these. All these exotic loans, and all these really arms that grew hands a choke people. And so basically we're coming out of that supposedly, and it's more stabilize market, they're not pushing arms like they used to. Fix thirty year fix. It's always been the bread and butter of homeownership for working people. But Linda, curl out of debts. They end up. Charging too over their limits. And then you end up ten twenty thirty forty fifty thousand dollars worth of credit card debt. And then you end up refinancing your home start. Taking out your equity and one of the one of the downsides of. What's happening with those arms? You end up having to keep refinancing all the time in the Bank makes Pooku bucks. Every time you do that before the bank's only made money once every thirty years on that loan because you know, people paid for it and retired, and, you know, had homeownership, but that's not the case when now with a high debt and the card system that we're in because, you know, your car carrying worker which not necessarily meaning your status, but meaning your credit, so you end up charging too much, and that's what happens and soda every three or four or five years people end up refinancing their homes and taking the equity out. So you don't wanna do that the goal here stability. So now that we're in this market where it's been a ten year. Hike twenty sixteen kind of top that hike and 2017 is the pushback for the pricing. So what's happening at twenty and twenty next carried over into twenty eight. So what's happening is the price of the values are dropping? So if you're a seller. I'm gonna tell her you. You've got to move now because they are coming. According to this map, the REO's are coming. So you need to sell your home prices are still Glennon, you a good chunk of change. You can sell move and start a new chapter of your life. And especially if you're a senior, and by the way, I'm a very good person to work with if you're a senior, I'm very respectful very responsive, and you know, and I like to take care of people and even more so for people who need in a more vulnerable to greediness and more vulnerable to unsavory people doing conducting business with them. If you don't think that's the case go to Arp and find out those statistics. Anyway. I don't want you to go away. Because I want you to find out how not to sell yourself short. By staying connected with San Fran Marianne four one five eight ten one eighty date. We'll be right back with real estate buzz..
