"Where Ah The Supreme Court with a new conservative majority of 6 to 3. Showed its muscle on the eve of Thanksgiving. You and I know what it did. Because of Justice Amy Cockney Barrett. Playing that key role in reviving the courts past deference the local officials when weighing pandemic related restrictions on religious organizations. What we found where they're all three of President Trump's nominees to the court. Were in the 5 to 4 majority and listen carefully that blocked New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's restrictions on the houses of worship. And temporary hot spots where the quote coronaviruses raging Let me point out that I opened up this morning, San Francisco Chronicle and I do read the paper. California church that lost a Supreme Court challenge in May to Governor Newsome's restrictions on in person. Attendance is trying again. Well, the balance on the court has changed if New York Could reverse itself. Why not? This time. They are putting together. A newly composed court. 6 to 3. And so that means that when South Bay United Pentecostal Church in Christ Visit San Diego County. First argued that Newsome's orders violated freedom of religion. It was a 5 to 4 decision. Because the court balance was what itwas but now and this is what is so incredible. Don't think it doesn't matter who's on the Supreme Court. Because it does. It was Chief Justice John Roberts, who cast the deciding vote. That said that the governor was imposing similar restrictions on comparable secular facilities, and everything was great. But now with Ruth Bader Ginsburg gone, remember she died September 18th. Speedily replaced by any Cockney Barrett. What That means, And we all need to understand this. What That means is the balance on the court has changed. And that's what the story from the Supreme Court dealing with the New York question has now demonstrated. So I read a letter to the editor in this morning's Chronicle. I want to share it with you. It was a letter written by Deanna Mercer in Redwood City. Very short. But powerful Not a theocracy is the headline chosen by the Chronic Korea people. Regarding New York, barred from certain church limits. It's astonishing that a more conservative majority U. S. Supreme Court has ruled that indoor religious gatherings can now be unrestricted even though coronavirus cases are again searching. If right, Deanna Mercer if First Amendment freedom of religious rights now supersede science Based decisions meant to protect everyone's health. Then we are surely now living in a theocracy, not a democracy. 41580808 10. I'm horrified and I don't mind saying it loudly.

"Court judge ruling against four local businesses to restaurants and two gyms. It filed a lawsuit asking for a temporary restraining order against the purple to your restrictions at first went into effect November 14th in San Diego County. The state rules say those two business groups, along with museums, movie theaters and places of worship have to move operations outside in the lawsuit, the four locations are you that data from the county showed they represent only a small percentage of new coronavirus cases. Peter San Nicolas owns Ramona Fitness Center. He was the first business owner in the county to face charges for defying the public health orders. Those charges were eventually dropped. And this latest court ruling has him fuming that you should make everyone angry, not just the business owners, but it should make the customers and the people it should make Americans angry. This is not right. Justice isn't going to be served through our government or the courts. I think I think we have to just take it in her own hands. I think we just need to have is many businesses open up. And operate their businesses safe as they possibly can. But I don't understand how they can't look at the science and the data that shows that it's not coming from these businesses. I just don't understand it. What? What's the agenda here? In the ruling, the judge said the impact on public health of dismantling a portion of the state's covert 19 response designed to reduce community spread outweighs the economic harm to plaintiffs. San Nicolas says that's ridiculous. Absolutely not. You're you're you're talking about thousands of lives. Being affected where people can't even pay for the basic necessities to live like their home like their electric electricity bills, But like their medical insurance, I had to let my life insurance lapse. Because I couldn't pay it. And so what happens if something happens to me and now my wife and my kids? We're not taking care of now. It just doesn't make It doesn't make any sense. They think it's so one sided. They think We were just saying we're trying to save lives. And so people don't get cove. It. But it's not about people even dying of covert. And it just makes me so angry. I'm not saying this is gonna be me, but at some point someone is going to lose it and they're gonna lose it big time and they're not going to stand for any of this. And it'll become violent. I'm not saying that's me at all, but someone's going to because we're talking about people's lives. And not being able to just support and put food on the table. It's ridiculous. They don't it won't. Why don't think pay for it. Then if they want to close your businesses, then help us out. They're not helping us out at all. Peter San Nicolas, owner of Ramona Fitness Center, says things need to change or thousands of San Diegans are going to face a dark winter. He says. Show me the science that supports these closures. You're pushing people to the very end. And You know, I just last week we did that rally down downtown, and they asked me and I let them know that like I was just finally able to make my mortgage payment on my house after eight months. And, um you know how it's terrible. Christmas is coming. Nothing. I mean, Christmas is not about gifts and whatever, but I mean You know, kids gives you don't want to have this Christmas and it's like the families. Aren't you gonna be able to do that? They're they're not even gonna be able to keep their electricity on. Keep the heat on him. And they think that it's just in the name of saving lives. How in the world is that None of the data says that this is helping us. It's just hurting people. And I don't know what's going to get them to wake up. I just was watching. I don't know if it was the senator over a congressman, but he's somewhere up in Northern California had just got on and was talking about Newsome. And how you know he's not even following his own rules. So how are we expected to do it? Said Nicholas, also telling other business owners to reach out to him. If they need help or want advice. I've got a legal team that is there to support them. They're not looking for money. They're only looking for donations to the nonprofit. And so if they need that help, we have it, but just just support. I mean, I'll be happy to talk to any any business owner. They can reach out to me and they call the club message at Ramona Fitness 76 year old 789 35 100, but I think that's it. So what we've tried to do is just take all of it didn't listen and then go back and and organized form of said we agree with this and here's what we're doing here is something working out and and maybe these issues over here. We don't agree with it and be explained to be able to explain why we don't agree with that but you have to have an environment which you can have that dialogue. We're working very hard to establish then used whether it's through group called pastors on point. Another group of black ministers called standing in the Gap individual relationships with the ACLU n-double-acp. Urban League to get law enforcement knowledge of the leaders, but the rank-and-file in those forums to have those discussions. I think we're getting to that point now in in the dialogue. You know, don't forget about my people. You know, now that your Yom Kippur is over with my people are free for some meat as well. You know, they love you. Love you yellow is is an integral part if you walk in all of our conversations that was a joke though. So, you know when you use that figure 750,000 across the country and what there's three hundred and thirty million people in our country when you think about that ratio, I'm just wondering my wife's, you know in real estate and I'm thinking about lawyers if you added up those numbers, we probably have a lot more and when I know what I don't offer cost to train somebody but I've heard at some point the expense of training is the first responder just like somebody was in the military. It's it's a big dollar amount and when you think about the ratio of that many people to that they have to manager be aware of or view ready and praying for it's almost like a formula for anything can go wrong. It probably would when you think about the human issue, Is that are aligned with all the different things that law enforcement has to bump into on a daily basis. Plus they wear a uniform and a badge. So they're clearly marked by the community of people know who they are when they're walking down the street. I mean, nobody knows who I am, you know, when you're in civilian clothes, they don't have an idea. So when you're profiled like that what a difficult job to have number one job to help support them. We and the challenge we have and we work very hard at it is is screening people to become peace officers law enforcement officers in this country. It's a challenging job. There's room for abuse there's a lot of discretion in law enforcement and that's why I know here in San Diego, you know, we for every hundred and we take.

Who would replace Kamala Harris as California Senator?
"We still have 12 weeks before the November election, Voters will decide between President Trump on my vice President Mike Pence against former Vice President Joe Biden and current Democratic vice presidential nominee California Senator Kamala Harris. But in Harris are victorious. Governor Newsome will have to appoint a new senator to serve the next two years here in California, and well, there's been early speculation on names like State Attorney General Javier Becerra and San Diego State Senator Toni Atkins. Another elected officials told the governor he's interested. Mayor of Imperial Beach Search, the DEA sent a note to the governor with a picture of him in a business suit with a surfboard and water, nothing his intention to seek the appointments If the Democrats win because Pamela Harris may become our next vice president, I notified Governor Newsome like everyone does not is via Twitter that I'd like to be on the collection left to be the next U. S. Senator put out Open seat. And I think it's important to have someone who's not from the insider circle in Sacramento on someone that's ready to help clean up California and fight for our planet and our ocean from day one. Well and yes, I think it was the announcement that color base attention picture of you in a business suit with your surfboard. Right. The water's edge. We're mighty, You know, I've seen the names of some of the more high profile candidates and you know the reality of California's in trouble countries in trouble, And so we need someone who's used to doing things without a lot of resource is gonna support. You could get things done quickly, and that's experience. I've had thereby be in that experience that we need for the next senator from California and as the native Senate, California someone who rested 500 California the lifeguard for the state and for the city of Baby, I'm ready for the job and just look forward to being considered by Governor Newsome. Everywhere else here with its impact that profile of yours with that fight has gone to the highest level. Yeah, so you know, unfortunately, because sewage issue is continuing to happen. I ve had to reach out from everybody from the president of Mexico, too. You know, President Trump We've met Got Governor knew someone. The governor of Baja California. So yeah, felt the times were like more like an international diplomat rather than a mare. But that is good practice good experience for what it takes to be an effective senator. To give you credit. Since the minute she was in office, she has support our first queen of the border. She's put a lot of attention on period Beach. In fact, her California director came to Imperial Beach to visit her stop is in very involved in this issue, so she's been great on the tissue as well as Senator Feinstein, but it's time for a new direction and and that's what I'm putting My My name in the hat or handed the ring And you know there is a perception out there at some points where you know, San Diego geographically being where it is. So we feel that the state of times may forget about us or things like that. You know, putting San Diego right back up there and kind of raising our hand and saying, Hey, what about us? Yeah, you know, Right now we have two senators from Northern California from the Bay area, So obviously we need a lot more Southern California repetition and the fact that Southern California needs a lot of help. We've seen that during this covert Christ of some of the highest rates, obviously in the country in Southern California, especially here in South San Diego and along the border, So we're in trouble have the highest rate of unemployment in the state along the borderlands question. Imperial County so We're in trouble. We need to get someone to replace Senator Harris. She gets elected vice president who's fighting for California and every California and not just the ones who can write campaign checks, right?
