Millions of hungry Americans turn to food banks for first time.

"In the world even during times of prosperity schools handout millions of hot meals a day to children and desperate. Elderly americans are sometimes forced to choose between medicine and food now in the pandemic of twenty twenty with illness job loss and business closures millions. Georgia Senate debates make headlines ahead of runoff

"Voting in georgia for the january senate elections begins one week from today. On december fourteenth debates for both georgia's senate races were held last night in atlanta. Here's republican senator. Kelly leffler and democrat reverend raphael warnock. My question is a pretty simple. Yes or no. Senator leffler did donald trump lose a recent presidential election. President trump has every right to use every legal recourse available in our own state. We've seen time and again that we have investigations that need to be completed. The trump campaign has filed fifty three frivolous lawsuits claiming election fraud courts. Actually the lawsuits did not ever claim fraud. Not in a single one of those losses. Did they claim fraud. Once they got in a court courts found zero instances fraud that includes one case. George that was dismissed today by a federal judge appointed by president. George w bush drudges republican. Senator david perdue who is facing allegations of insider trading. Just refuse to show up to debate as challenger don crat jon ossoff who appeared next to an empty lecture. My message for the people of our state at this moment of crisis is your senator feels entitled to your vote. Your senator is refusing to answer questions and debate his opponent because he believes he shouldn't have to. He believes this senate seat belongs to him. The senate seat belongs to the people today. John also held a campaign event in lilburn georgia. Imagine being a. us. Senator afraid of answering questions in public for fear that he might incriminate himself at a moment. Like this when people are hurting joining us. Now is who and castro. The former secretary of housing and urban development in the obama administration. Former mayor of san antonio texas secretary castro. Thank you very much for joining us tonight. You're back on the campaign trail today. Jon ossoff tomorrow for raphael warnock What are you seeing out there. Especially in response to this weekend's debate last night's debate where a david did not even show up. It's good to be with you lawrence. But what i've seen is a lot of people georgia understand how important the stakes are here. They understand that what happens here in georgia is gonna affect not only all georgians but also all of us as americans. I think most of gay and what they saw in the debates last night. Reinforce this that in a senators leffler purdue they've had two people that endorsed most critical moment of need have chosen to serve themselves to enrich themselves benefit their friends instead of working on behalf of the people of georgia. And what they see an rafael warnock in jon. Ossoff our to folks who are committed to serving the people georgia who were talking about the issues that matter healthcare job getting small suspect up in going housing opportunity as many people facing eviction making sure that we tackle climate change in the biggest challenge of our generation so the the differences here couldn't be more clear. Let's listen to more of what john also had to say on the campaign trail today. And how are these campaigns. These two democratic campaigns a sound like a partnership. Let's listen to this. You got the young jewish journalist son of an immigrant running alongside a black preacher who holds the same pulpit as dr king at the knees baptist church building a movement for health jobs and justice for the people at a moment of crisis because health jobs and justice are what the people need right now and we are running against the bonnie and clyde of political corruption in america secretary castro that kind of teamwork is unusual. Most people would. They're running for office. They're just trying to get themselves over that hurdle. Well it is. And i think we're fortunate that we have these runoffs going on at the same time as you know. Lawrence doesn't not happen where you have to united states senate seats in a runoff at the same time and i think they've done a very good job as a team and painting making sure that their message is clear about what they're gonna do for the people of georgia that get his asses the work to make sure that folks have good opportunities in georgia. And that's how they're going to govern governed in a much stronger way for the people of georgia than a leffler and purdue. Have i want to listen to something. That reverend warnock said last night in his debate because interestingly both democratic campaigns are running against republican candidates credibly accused of insider trading using their senate positions for insider trading. Let's listen to what the way reverend warnock put it. Last night. She was only there three weeks. i'm not sure she was fully unpacked when she started dumping millions of dollars of stock trying to protect herself and She purchased. That seat is done well for her. The issue is that the people who sold it to our. Don't it and the people of georgia coming back to get their seat sir. Castro is that issue getting traction on the campaign trail is especially. Because you're is somebody in kelly lafleur who was not elected Who last night into debate. You could tell just said the same thing over and over and over again and instead of addressing the issues basically just tried to label roselle warna you know as do liberal for georgia when he was there actually talking about the things that we hear people talking about table being able to afford the rent. You know wh what is their gonna come back online. What is washington dc. Doing work to make sure that they have opportunity. And to make sure the infancy can get asked endemic It's night and day away. That worn can also addressing the issues. That people are talking about the care about right now. And i'll disconnected leffler and her do our sanitary helene. Castro live from the campaign trail in georgia. Thank you very much for joining us tonight. Really appreciate

When Can I Move Up in House?

"Andrews in. San. Antonio Texas. What's up? How are you? Deserve man, how can I help? Awesome I had a question So I'm like you in San. Antonio on the military right now got about probably three years left about and I actually called. I spoke to Ken, Coleman a couple of weeks ago and he encouraged me that this is probably should should probably look at me and my last and most because it just doesn't line up with my goals anymore. So we're we're kind of looking at that transition and were plotting a move to the Nashville area actually ended this most met. In the rest of America. Okay. So the House that we're living now is very much a starter home. We bought it only here for about one seventy and we're just wondering at what point is appropriate mathematically to move up in house because we live in like you'd like to be in a nicer part of town. Eventually you know a little bit bigger and so we're just trying to figure out like mathematically how to make that happen without like starting over on the mortgage you know. Okay well you number one, you wouldn't do this until you move. To Nashville. Ride that house for three years it doesn't make sense to buy and sell a house inside of three years. Right we're not looking at doing this now, I'm just just a planning purpose. So you sell the house there you move to Nashville start, your new career by another house, right? Right, and then he would start a new mortgage on a fifteen year fixed rate. Here's the thing when someone says starting over on the mortgage that makes me think you believe that all the interest on mortgages paid upfront. which is not true by the way. Do you think that? No I don't think. Okay. So, what's your all your starting over as you have a different debt, a bigger debt or a smaller debt. So what are you currently San Antonio House. Currently owe one, fifty five. Okay. So if you buy one fifty, five at the same interest-rate or less in Nashville which would be very hard to do or the Nashville market, you could get out in the country you might way out in the country might pull it off. Okay. But Anyway if you did that mathematically speaking. You would exactly star where you are today. You would just move the one, fifty five at the same interest rate over here, and if it was the same number of years, you've lost zero ground the only way you lose ground as you go further in debt, which you said I, WanNa move up in house. That's cool. So let's say you buy three hundred, thousand dollar house because your career, your new career pays more than your career. And you move to Nashville by three thousand dollar house. Now, that's a little more feasible okay and so. Now, you've doubled your mortgage. So what you've started over is twice as much debt. But nothing else started over other than that. Okay. Yeah. That makes sense how many years remaining on your current mortgage. We've only lived in this house for just less than a year. So we've got fourteen years. You did a year. Okay. So when you move, you would have eleven years left. You did my scenario on eleven years regardless of the amount you took out, you would still be debt free it exactly the same time agreed. That sounds yeah which you wouldn't do that. You'll probably get a new fifteen year three, hundred, three, hundred, twenty, five, thousand or whatever number it is when you move up, that's fine as long as it's on a fifteen year fixed the payments no more than a fourth of your take home pay. But that's how it's GonNa work. So sit tight where you are, and then as you arrange yourself into the new career three years from now and you decide which city you're gonNa live in for sure you start shopping for real estate and start figuring out how much we actually can afford based on your new income to purchase on a fifteen year fixed rate where the payments no more than a fourth, your take home pay, and that'll keep you between the ditches brother. Thank you for your service. We really really appreciate cash.

The Air Force Struggles With Diversity. Can The Space Force Do Any Better?

"The newest branch of the military just promoted its first female three star general. The US Space Force also recently appointed the nation's first all women space operations team. Top space force leaders say gender and racial diversity is a core part of the mission. But his Colorado public Radio's Dan Boyce reports, some female veterans are skeptical. First Lieutenant Kelly McKay serves with the all female Space Operation Squadron stationed at Schriever Air Force Base near Colorado Springs, The squadron command's one of the country's GPS satellites. They have a great opportunity to be the the service that leads the way Don Christensen is president of the nonprofit Protect Our Defenders. The group focuses on reducing discrimination in the military. The space force grew out of the Air Force last December, Christensen says It's continuing the airforce tradition of a better gender balance than the other branches. But he worries the space force could continue another worrisome course when it comes to racial disparity there force with worst in analyzing military data Person's sins team found black airman 70% more likely than their white peers to get court martialed or receive other punishments. I'm not sure that you'll be able to restructure. I don't know. I just think they might continue get away with it. Unfortunately. Pacheco says As discrimination charges work their way up the chain of command senior officers often suppress reports to avoid looking bad themselves. They're going to be shaped to encourage honest communication, the space force's chief diversity and inclusion. Officer Carrie Baker says They've already placed heavy emphasis on developing open minded leaders and pushing them to learn about unconscious biases, even to the point where one should be careless enough to Speaks to their leadership about concerns that they have without concern of retribution. Baker says. The space force has targeted outreach initiatives to recruit women and people of color. Keep your eye on us. We're going to make you proud Tanya would nightie professional. I ended up procrastinating. Calling my doctor. So i haven't taken in the past like six days or something like that and it hasn't been terrible like i've been just doing just fine like i think sometimes like a special medication and and that sort of thing i mean you have. I guess you'd wanna medication. But sometimes some people allow people. Just don't take the medication And then they end up with a cop full of medication and makes thought taking that again and then they a stachel medication because mike. Dosage changes are macy's changes the nation's night. Good say they got a new one inside might puzzle stash down. I've been actually taking them. Pretty religiously Yeah making sure that. I take them every day. Even if. I don't feel like it that i needed or anything like that because just because of what i've read in how like dopamine interacts with their brain and how stopping medication like that could potentially lead to another psychotic break which by the way like had. How was your cognitive level after you had your psychotic break so you know i mean. My job is like can software software engineering. Yeah at the moment. I took seven years out where i was. I was in mental health recovery. Why did i just did volunteer work. I i went through therapy groups and to me seven years to get back to the level where i felt confident enough today. A professional like job which requires abstract thinking thinking logic all that sort of stuff so they took me a while to me seven years to get to that level. Yep sorrow yes. I was our for seven years and then in coventry and now that that's how as able to get back into the work environment but my would say as my colleague level has been in the past when i reckon dip quite severely back in about two thousand nine when i was probably about thirty four years old. That was. that's what i try to do. My resume my cv. It was just. It just looked if a child with writer allah simple. I just couldn't i just couldn't i convinced properly oversee if you want to resume you're not paying around you want it to make it as good as possible my mind. It was just ridiculous. So how has it affected you as well Initially i did like i would say. I started noticing a decrease cognitive level about a year. After my psychotic break. But i kind of break Psychotic breaks. I've had a fake. I'm guessing around like three of them in the two year period But yeah initially like. I forgot how to like the definitions of words. My memory started like my memory. Sylla's very crap. And i think that has something to do with the medications i like. It hasn't prevent me from getting any jobs per se but it has gotten me fired from jobs. you've nicotine. Yes i you doing that. I also did as well. Yeah all schizophrenics state mixing somehow. Yeah actually i. I heard that nicotine is an antipsychotic as well. He's a kind of suv's i it. Just kind of sues the mind. I guess i know something it makes feels good basically whatever it is. Yeah i smoked since i was eighteen and and switched over to vaping like in twenty fifteen but The like that's another thing. I didn't like about vilifies that. Whenever i would smoke i would never feel like satisfied After smoking or eating. Or i gained a lot of weight when i was taken. Vilify managed to drop a lot of it too with kito. That helped out a lot to help the people. I mean my personal stones' kind of vegan. Not not pure vegan but kind of vegan seventy percent of the time. But i i don't know i Losing weight is quite i i. I'm gonna welcome to actually key. Have you experienced any stick. Merle or discrimination following becoming schizophrenia. Not well. I haven't really told anyone other than my immediate family. And my immediate family. They're very supportive of carrying. All i've heard was like a little bit of like discrimination. I guess a from my uncle. But that's about it and it wasn't even that bad. it was more like they were empathetic towards Towards what i'm going through a. Why haven't you told anybody about this appalling media family. Oh i i'm not really as super social person secondly yeah it does happen pretty Stigmatize that's getting to. Yeah it kind of like difficult. Isn't it to say tell someone and it's like it's kind of difficult one but it's kind of what we're trying to do is to bring schizophrenia into the mainstream kicking and screaming and say we're real people with this and we're not we're not mass is that that's like one percent of schizophrenic. People ninety nine percent of the people just trying to get by and just trying to struggle with these symptoms. And and that's all is let's see okay is.

Because i went into defied like year but it was horrible for me because i know the advantage over vilify is that it's one of the modern ones and also is kind of weight neutral when of the other like i take a lands opinion and that site generally this low side effects. But that's the saw i don. I am a bit chicken. try again because it was. I didn't like the side effects. Yeah while so my mom She committed suicide about a month ago. Actually and i think it was because of the ability by she. She's actually passed away. Yeah she hung herself. actually jesus. i know it's been rough dealing with that in like free out where everything's supposed to go and they don't make dying easy. That's for sure But i think it was because of the ability. Is she She like the biggest thing i noticed is that it's really hard to feel any kind of emotion Whether it be joy or sadness or anything. Like that. And i think she just either just couldn't live with anymore because i told her that we'd probably be have to be on medication for the rest of our lives and i don't know why are you doing man because like i've lost both my parents as well. How you how you think because that's different when someone commits suicide i. I don't know firsthand. Experience i know can be quite dramatic. So how how. Well it's weird the ability by kind of makes it so like i'll be sad but i can't cry It's pretty awful a a really. Hate that about the medication That it's it. Feels like she went on vacation for a little bit while. I'll see her again but i think that's just the denial stage. It hurts a lot but i. Yeah i mean. I've conical kind of strong spiritual non religious beliefs which helped me You know the people. You can read books by brian. Wice michael jackson who give you a a good subtle Idea of of the spiritual wells in special realms on kind of thing is you might not be befall wrong with what you actually thinking that you might see her again. You might not be forward with that cited that they all kind of spiritual peop- books out. Dad which i'm give credence to that but it's not it's not religious it's just it's more. It's more about people's experiences with theft. Yeah actually i should look into that. Like i d. I lost my father and my brother about five years ago. So yeah it's like when i lost them. The amount of crying that i did was way more than matter crying. Doug now and i i swear i think it's just the ability because it really does put their brown year emotions. I think for me when my mom passed in two thousand seven and i was like a. I was liking a wreck. I couldn't handle it is like is like wherever is i two is too bad. It's too seriously intense for me but my dad passed last year and that was a lot. Smoother says hi to my the first ones the first rights. Yeah i think that might be it too. I honestly do how you life now than trevor's Pretty well I have a job working twenty hours. A week at amazon during warehouse stuff It's pretty alright. I've noticed that my energy levels have definitely gone down mostly because also adhd By so without my adhd medication. It's hard for me to keep my life together. I'm gonna have to talk to my doctor and see if i can be prescribed like a concert or something because it gets really bad. I procrastinate too much around good. Got diagnoses did you go to the hospital. That's what if things if you like to talk about okay. So about two years ago. When i was twenty six years old. I started having. I guess we call in enlightenment like i was sitting at work and i would just start thinking about the most random things in my mind would present to me these like huge lodge like leaps of like beyond logic just to essentially came out to be that like i come to the conclusion that i was god. Yeah and that like the whole universe was basically revolving around me that's where the solipsism began Then after that about a couple of weeks later. I was working. And i turned around and i saw my coworker literally. Just teleport right in front of me. He moved from one location to another without any without any time. In between may i i fought part of the enlightenment thing was i thought had figured out that. The universe simulation there were multiple parallel dimensions and stuff like that and yet so my whole thing was that he must have like unlocked. Something within the matrix and my all my other thing was that everybody could teleport like if i could see my coworker teleport than i could tell apart. That's the that's what set off a bunch of delusions could've been could've dissociated for twenty seconds or something possibly i mean your psychiatric explanation leeza Story anyway yeah. I've thought about it extensively like i came to the conclusion that i must have just hallucinated Because like as cool as it is it's impossible to teleport but so from then on. i didn't have much in the way of Voices not until about a year ago. are just like a few things one eight. Everything felt like a story line entire life just felt like one big ass like storybook there was like foreshadowing. There's climaxes it was crazy like the amount of continuity that there were the between the multiple days like my delusions in how the continuity between like what i thought. My roommates were sane when they actually weren't because one of the big things. Was that my roommates for comment on my thoughts or they would comment on On like the general story quote unquote of that was going on at the time. It was really weird. Sounds with yeah. Yeah i mean this Yeah i mean i guess. That's all part of the eldest. Isn't it like you can have like synchronicity. Jeremy wet where what you're thinking. And what happens in real life kind of like Coincide coincides yeah. I get that a lot. Yeah and that that's like that's not imagination. The actually happens Says kind of a bizarre experience reason. Yeah because it's magic. It actually happens. Yeah the weird things. To me was Unbidden images. I would just get images of an i had like you know. How can you recall an image in your brain and it will just like come to you but you know that you did it so is no worry. It would just happen to me. I would just be sitting there all of a sudden. Get an image of something usually. It's a like a white box or something like that. I mean that. I have. I have a similar. A similar thing happens to me. I don't happen often but occasionally get image while seeing in my head and it will be of somebody in real life or like somebody laughing or somebody. You know somebody. You know what i mean. It's like it's almost like a like an expert excerpt of somebody's life. And i think i don't know what it means but yeah is year strange. One for sure definitely definitely is did you. Do you get hypnotic illusions. Raw is at nighttime hallucinations. Yeah when you're about to fall asleep. I done really. None is a june the day usually. Yeah mine are usually at night just before falling asleep. I would like hear a voice or something like that. That's lately so back to the story it took about. I don't know i would say about a year of me. Just going through life Thinking that i was part of like a space talk like was able to travel between parallel dimensions. Because of the stuff that had been through I remember. My coworker said to me. One night you're not supposed to talk about it. So i assumed that it was like a right of passage kind of thing that everybody went going through and i was he would either was talking about something else or loosened mine. I find that a lot of the time if it's incongruent with like actual like what he would say that most of the time i probably loosened dated. I mean that's a it's a. It's like fight club or something. Nobody talks about it It happens like apple everybody but we didn't talk about it. Well they kind of inmet but you really in on the whole story.

"After hours. Sometimes, this paranoia wome menagerie is accompanied by a disembodied screams and yelling and men trapped in the throes of an invisible conflict of some sort. Members numerous tour groups, ghost hunters, psychics, they have all visited the site and clean. The felt invisible is watching them as they have traveled down the corridors of the Alamos halls. Ordinary people and sets that they have heard voices and whispers that seemed to filter through the very walls of the mission as if they were attempting to communicate with the world of the. Living. Others tell lesser stories about their encounters with vanishing lights, Irri cold spots, and a multitude of unexplained noises. In one instance, a park ranger at the Alamo encountered the ghost of a man dressed in tire from the eighteen thirties he said. It was a really hot day. Late spring when the ranger I viewed the suspicious man on the grounds walking towards the library. Hurried after the man he observed that he was wearing boots a plantation hat and long overcoat. To the Rangers surprise, the puzzle men aided. Faded away into obscurity when he near the chapel. When the ranger investigated further, he could not find any evidence that the stranger passing. Others have alleged. To. Have seen the the seem apparition numerous times in the courtyard of the elmo boat. During the day and at night. Generally the most often repeated goes story about the Alamo defies all logic to. It really does it focuses on the spirit of a little boy who is rumored to haunt the parks gift shop the gift shop of what places. Both. Visitors and Park Rangers alike claim to obscene a little blonde here boy. Ranging in age from ten to twelve was he just stares out into the courtyard from one of the stores high inaccessible windows. Small boys only visible from the waist up and has never become a full body apparition as of yet. Rangers have searched the gift shop in hopes of catching this ghostly prankster who have come up empty handed. In each instance, they have concluded that there is no way that a real person could perch him or herself in the window without something to climb up on or some way of supporting themselves. The, mystery only gets more convoluted when you consider the fact that the gift shop was not built until the nineteen? Thirties. So with the little boy. Legend says that the last days of the seizure the Alamo? Had something going on. What we know small boy. This small boy was evacuated from the mission it's believed that. He returns to the same spot where he recalls last seen above one alive. The ghostly child May appear to be looking at it. Out of the. down. From the window at curious onlookers. When intact is is only search for a comforting glimpse of a father brother or another family member who have made the ultimate sacrifice there at some point in the Alamos. Very tumultuous history. One of the more interesting goes encountered at the Alamo. Is that of the Duke Himself? You know who I'm talking about right yeah. John Wayne. As the director and leading actor and the bigger than life spectacle the. Alamo. John Wayne spent over one point five million dollars recreating an exact replica of the old mission in Bracket Bill Texas. In an effort to make the movie as historically accurate as possible Wayne personally toward the original site in consulted actual blueprint blueprints. Excuse me of the fortress. Wow. I actually knew that, but it's to blows my mind I mean the dedication. I can fully appreciate. Shortly. After his death, the dukes ghost was observed at the real. Alma walking the grounds is also been observed, visiting and talking with the spirits of the forts. Patriotic Dead. The story was so telling that a psychic was enlisted to confirm rumors that John Wayne Spirit visited the Alamo on a regular basis. Now. I. Have to stop has. Why. Let's continue. The psychic substantiate the fact that dukes goes stops over at the Alamo about once a month but cannot shed any light on where he manifests himself the rest of the time. Many believe that do put so much energy and enthusiasm into making of his movie that it seems only natural that he left a little bit of himself there when he he himself passed and into the afterlife. It's often said that. He became obsessed with a sequence of events that led to the fall of the Alamo. So it kind of makes sense. I mean, he was a stickler for historical accuracy. We really can't. Deal into the various holdings that are noon to take place at the Anna. Alamo without discussing the most prominent coast to make his presence known at the mission throughout the years. At various times during the year park rangers have observed a transparent figure dressed in buckskin clothing and sporting a flint lock rifle standing guard near the chapel. This is believed to be the spirit of none other than David. Other who obscene the Phantom. Vigilantly standing at attention at various locations around the Alamo to say that he's wearing a coon skin cap, a buckskin shirt, an moccasins. In, several other instances this figment has been observed by several different people from different angles at the same time. All of these observations themselves prove that the ghost most generally associate Davy Crockett. Is More than just an optical illusion. Could, it be that debut? Crockett's her rowing death at the Alamo. Has Been Forever immortalized in some sort of. Twisted. Hot It vignette. One of the grisliest Phantom images to play itself out at the old mission occurs in the long barracks. "Blow the place up. Well Bowie didn't exactly agree with that. While he fully understood that they couldn't allow General Santa Anna's troops to capture their weapons. He couldn't allow them. We have defense to be blown sky high. Colonel Jean Vote We had twenty five volunteer soldiers under his command. And he knew he needed help. The call to arms have been heard though and Colonel William Travis showed up at the walls of the with more than a hundred vigorous dairymen. Their numbers were still not enough though. One hundred forty men. One hundred forty Texans versus the Mexican army which total over thousand. Disaster would befall them with a flick of Santa Anna's wrist. If he got near them, Colonel Travis reached out for help from the Texas government repeatedly and waited with bated breath for an answer every time. Travis slater lowered his head and disappointment as no response every came both he and Bowie put their heads together and then luck eventually smile down upon them. Another visitor had shown up at the Alamo and he had brought with him twenty volunteer soldiers. It was the legendary Davy Crockett. Now, don't get me wrong. The dude was alleging even in his own time. But most folks thought he was insane. He had reportedly killed one hundred eat bears over the span of eight months and road allegedly on the backs of alligators as a workout routine. Travis and Bowie. Thing care though he was the perfect man for the perfect fight that they were about to find themselves in. Crockett's men brought their numbers up to one hundred, eighty nine. Hey. It was better than nothing right? Desperate in fearful of the fifteen hundred man army that was fast approaching Colonel Travis sent out one last message to the government. Disappointed turn out one woman one way or another they would win. Or, they would all die trying. It was as simple as that. Just four days after that though. General Santa Anna captured the city of San Antonio and raised a red flag. into the air for all to see. His message was clear. Surrender or I will leave no survivors. The mighty one, hundred, eighty, nine, man battalion of Texans responded to this threat with a single cannon last. After that. The battle for the. Alamo, began. So the rest of what happened actually kind of sketchy. We really don't know the exact details of the battle and I'm Kinda. Going insane just thinking about it because I have to now I have so many questions. Here's what I do know though. Not, a single Texan soldiers survive that blood bath. With the exception of colonel, Travis's slave Joe. He was captured by General, Santa Anna, but later released as the general realize he had no choice and who side he was fighting for. As for the rest of well. We look to different paintings, songs from bits of folklore, and even some oral history that has been passed down over the years to. Find some semblance of an answer. Travis Colonel William Travis that is he's remembered for being one of the first to die as he went out in a lease of glory. Rifle Tucked under his shoulder firing it off into the horde and Mexican soldiers. The legendary Davy. Crockett is remembered for holding his musket way up above his head fighting the good fight even when he had Alabama. He used the butt of his musket as a weapon it said. Then, there's Colonel James Bowie. This man was fighting a completely different fight at that point. He was fighting typhoid Monja. But even as the Mexicans invaded his bedroom, he fired off shot after shot after shot. He didn't let up until they all came down on him, running him through with their bayonets. Every one of them all for. Until the very last breath and had said. That one rallying cry could be heard throughout all. Remember the Alamo. A chilling but a ROIC battlecry that will forever be remembered even those brave men have long since left us. Texas would eventually win its independence from Mexico just three weeks after the battle of the Alamo had ended. Now, I'm not surprised one bit that the Alamos haunted not at all. It's said that after the battle that General Santa Anna refused to grant the Texan defenders a proper burial. Bodies were lying on Pires and set on fire. Others were buried in a mass grave while others were still slung disrespectfully in the San Antonio River like pieces of garbage. Some people have claimed that the bodies were all gathered up and buried in an unmarked grave somewhere. That location is unknown to history though. Wherever, those souls may be wherever they are. I personally think there are lost. They're still bound to what they held. So sacred in life. And they can't let go it. They are still protecting. That land. Sacred. Hollowed land. Right we just heard a lot of history. Yeah. It's a lot and I actually gave you an abridged version by the way. If he wished to hear the extended version I encourage you go read about it. It's really really interesting. There's so much there so much to talk about. But I don't want to bog you down in the history because we have to make it to the paranoid. But before we get. To. The paranormal stories. How about we take a quick commercial break clear heads and prepare sells for the multitude of paranormal activity. that. I am about to lay at your feet. Stay tuned my.

Parenting In A Pandemic

"Fellow parents in the community I am sure you feel me when I say this past couple of months have been rough. So today Dr Anne. Louise, Lockhart is back to chat about what it looks like two parent through a pandemic. Dr Lockhart is. Psychologist parent coach in the business owner of a new day, pediatric psychology in San Antonio Texas. Born and raised on the island of Saint Croix in the US Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. Doctor Lockhart has a doctorate in clinical psychology and is board certified in clinical child and adolescent psychology. She's worked in both military and civilian. Setting Dr. Lockhart, and I chatted about the benefits of routine and structure right now. Managing Your own and your child's anxiety about cities reopening. What kinds of things we should be considering about school in the fall and how to have conversations with our kids and our schools about racism and racial trauma. If. You hear something while listening. They're resonates with you. Please be sure to share with us on social media using the Hashtag t BG in session. Here's our conversation. Thank you so much joining us against today Dr Luckily. For inviting me. Yes, always a pleasure to chat with you and I was like we gotta get her back. Because the last time you shared such great information about co-regulation right and that was before all of our lives turned upside down right. Exactly like I have been trying to listen to the episode on repeat like okay. How can I regulates today? Because, it feels like all that good stuff you shared. I'm really struggling to try to figure out. I would imagine that lots of other parents are too so I'm curious to hear how the DEMOC and everything that has been happening his really just kind of did everything we were doing. It's parenting Oh. Yeah, definitely I mean before all this happened. I mean as you know, and as some people know or may not know. Is that when you are needing to prepare for a life altering event many times we have some kind of preparation. Right or we know that it's coming or at least have an idea. Have some kind of file system has experienced something similar right, and then this pandemic hit and we're like wait. Wait, I don't have a file for pandemics. I don't know what to do when a global I mean. I've seen movies on it. But. I don't know what I'm supposed to do and so. I think what has caused some such an upheaval, because for many people like here in Texas we were literally on Spring, break and ending it when we heard the news, and then we told our kids. Hey, guys. Spring break is extended and gay. If extended some more Mike. Okay they're like so are. When are we going back probably in April? Okay, maybe okay, maybe August. Right and so I think that we we really didn't know how to prepare like. How do you prepare for being home twenty four seven with your spouse and your kids? Nonstop. And then maybe not be able to go to work or work differently. Teach your kids, I mean it was. It was a crazy adjustment it was. It was very difficult and I. think that's what makes it so much harder that we didn't have anything to relate it to. And no kind of system to compare it to Yeah, that's what I have found. I think just so overwhelming I said our last conversation talked about like how important it is to make sure that you're taking care of yourself so that you can then extend your kids. And in this situation we were all just thrown into working from home. And then you're trying to school from home and you can't even. Even like move about the world in the same ways that you were in, so it just felt like lots and lots of demands on your time in resources without very many ways of really kind of releasing it exactly and I think what was happening for a lot of people including myself is the things that we would normally do. We could not do anymore so like I love me some retail therapy. I couldn't go anywhere, nor did I want to. You know getting together with friends. Social distancing going to the movies can't do that. Go to the zoo. That's closed, I mean everything. Everything we do with our kids or for ourselves you literally could not do. And I think that's what so much harder is that Nicole? Regulation and be able to regulate and manage and balanced. Your time is all fighting good when you have the option, but when you literally have no options. You have to get very very creative with how you do that. so now it feels like some parts of the country are opening back up right like I. Know We'll here. In Georgia there are several things that have been open even for a couple of weeks ago. We are staying put, but things are opening up again now and so I'm wondering if you have ideas about how we might be able to do that with our families in a way, that feels they've. Yes, that's a great great question. Because now, a lot of places are opening up including San Antonio, but we as you said are put as well. I think that's where you have to really do your research and look to see what kind of measures are put in place, and then again talk to your family about how they feel how you can do that gradually and safely, and how you can start to get into the world in a way, that feels right for you so for example couple of weeks ago every three weeks now. My family and I decided to go find a lake to go to. So we can get outside and be in nature. They were all closed, so that made it a little bit difficult, but we were still able to go to a park and hang out together a getting takeout from a restaurant and having a picnic somewhere outside being able. Hang out together. Being able to hang out with family, we actually hung out with our inlaws twice because we know that they've been quarantined, isolated and social distance just like us, and a initially felt uncomfortable, and my son told me he felt uncomfortable and I acknowledged that I also felt that way as well too, and that it was okay to feel that way. Because! It had been three months since he thought Persson in person

"And with us. Today is Dr Lee Francis the fourth he is the CEO and founder of native realities and the director of indigenous Pop X. Also here with us today to is Johnny J and She is the founder of a tribe called Geek She was also scheduled to present at indigenous. Pop Ex. My pleasure to have both of them here with us and also on introduce you to maybe a familiar voice to you. You know what I'm just going to ask him to say. Hello let's see if we can guess who he is. Sir. Please say hello. I'll give you a hint. His name starts with the Jay. Go ahead and say hello to native America. That's how you know this is live because you don't plan stuff like that We're just going to check the line again. But if you'd like to join us one eight hundred nine six two eight. Four eight is number. Let's go back to another person's whose name starts with J Johnny j In in just a little bit about you know when this focus comes to indigenous representation in pop culture how it's really critical because it leads to other things Johnny J Takeaway. Well it does You know we've always been storytellers. We've always been artists and so to see these celebrations especially I did. Did you pop x? Of Our contributions to mainstream pop culture is so wonderful. And it's also inspiring two are native us because they don't often see themselves represented and you know just like us growing up. You know they WANNA be story tellers. They WANNA be artist. They WANNA be musicians and to see themselves in that role or to see natives in that role Gives them the belief that is possible and they can pursue that and be successful and be what they want to be that there's no limits to their potential? So you know. That's one of the reasons. I really look forward to India jazz. Pop Acts and because it's just a celebration of who we are as indigenous people in our creativity and innovation So that's one of the reasons that I really love it. Because the more that we get that representation the more that we see ourselves being represented the more we believe that anything is possible for us. And so that's that's one of the things that I really love about it and I think something they is also exciting to is meeting. The different folks who were creating different things and and it goes all kinds of mediums. You know people who are doing visual arts People who are wearing wearable art People who dress up Cost play and our emulating some of the things that you read. So you like. You're really seeing the comic book characters come to life. It's really interesting Johnny Jay. Thanks for that and let me. Let me try this again. This man is so famous all he has to do is say hello. You might even know who he is. Sir. Police say hello everybody. There's a hole in my pocket. Were money she'd go. There's a whole there's a big on wall very nice. Jj can you guess who that is? Oh I know exactly did I did. That is the amazing Jonathan John. Hi everybody welcome to number ten and Jonathan You're joining us today. Out of San Antonio Texas folks who may are meeting in for the First Time. He is an actor and a musician you might know him from. King of the hill The magnificent seven and parks and recreation My pleasure to have this Donahue Mara artist here with us today and Jonathan Booy when people see you at gatherings like this they all flock. They got a million questions and they're actually meeting somebody who has a direct connection to You know what what some people call Hollywood or or the mainstream media and Jonathan. Why is it important for you to let are indigenous nations? No they have space in this big mix of stuff. I think it's very important to begin with. I mean we are the original storyteller embedded in our DNA to share our stories. This year believes is share our dreams to share our history and within an industry that is basically a storytelling business. Why not have you know the original storytellers being represented in Hollywood? You know whether it be in Film Television Radio Comics You know I I do. A couple of other. Smaller indigenous are smaller comic con. And you see so much in the marvel world you see so much in the DC or and Their whole structure I think is based on the indigenous people of the world. I MEAN WE ARE FAMILY ORIENTED. We do have superheroes AMONGST OUR OUR TRIBES. We have superheroes amongst our our storytelling. So it's for me. It's very important for people to understand that we are here We're still hiller. Still here and we will remain here in Jonathan to hold the spaces that you do especially in Hollywood is important in for you. What are some of your goals? What do you want to shake up? What do you want to bring more indigenous voice to? I WANT TO BE RECOGNIZED. Not only for my talent but I think in other indigenous people need to be recognized for their talent and understood that a lot of Hollywood is based on stereotypical Characters I mean. Our voice is usually written by someone. Who's not even part of our culture? But you'll have people like Georgina lightning. You'll have other individuals like that step. In and write the words that would be spoken by indigenous person or an idea process that that that that has our formation because I indigenous people. We think different We see things differently. And it's so important that that the mainstream people Seeing and here you know from us through us not just works at the slum non native individual gave us so For me to try to break that stereotype I mean majority of my career has been based on playing stereotypes. But there's a small window of opportunity where there's a character there's the actor and there's the person and it's so important writers directors producers. See us as a person first and then recognize as
