You've already given us so many wonderful tips about how to use essential oils for things like anxiety and sleep. Are there any specifics about essential oils in weight loss that you care to share? Yes, I recently wrote a book called essentials for promoting weight loss and I'm super excited about it and I had a month to write it so I really. Dove deep into the essential oils for it, so the main thing with essential oils is that they don't cause weight loss, but they can help you with things like suppressing appetite spiking your metabolism relieving stress, because we know stress affects our weight improving sleep. Detox it can promote detoxing of the body, and then finding balance, because when we're in balance, were thriving and our bodies able to function better, so the essential oils that I really focused on were like fennel. Ginger are great for digestion. Grapefruit and lemon us more for suppressing appetite and relieving stress, and how how do you use? Those would use like sip on those or rollerball them. Diffuse them I like that I've turned rollerball into a verb now. It's a thing. It's over fennel ginger anything for digestion. I love to apply directly to my stomach. Anything digestion related? It's all digestion flows in a clockwise direction in your stomach. And so if you're just looking to regulate digestion or relieve constipation, you want to massage the oils on. Shen. And then if you are dealing with diarrhea you WanNa, go the other direction. You WanNa Kinda. pull the digestion back and just slow things down, so those are kind of the the main thing I mean. You can just rub it on your stomach as well, but just doing a little abdominal massage is huge for helping digestion. So. Just watching which direction you're moving in will kind of help regulate that digestion k now oils for suppressing appetite I would love to learn more about this. Yes, so for appetite suppressant I love like lemon and grapefruit kind of my two top ones. I don't use any essential oils. Internally I know those two can be used internally for suppressing appetite since they're so concentrated, it's not something I focused on. I'm not fully trained and internal use. So the level one you have to go all the way to level three to learn about use so and working my way up there so I don't typically recommend internal use, but they can be used aromatic so for those ones. I loved put in Diffuser or even in a lotion for me I. Don't know if this is for everyone, but if I put lotion on I don't want to. To eat unless I go get up and wash my hands and I'm too lazy to do that so if I put lotion on with a lemon or grapefruit. That's GonNa work to suppress the appetite. I'm not getting that. Urge to eat right then. That's something the that helps me otherwise. I will put him in a diffuser as well. Okay. such as simple trick is to like lotion up. Or you can also buy inhalers and you can make an inhaler and have that easy on the go-to. That's always a good option for those ones and I love those inhalers sticks of people that aren't familiar with that. It's not like a asthma inhaler review like suck it in your mouth. It's just like a little plastic tube. That's got a cotton wick in it and then. Then there's little holes at the top that you can twist open, and you just smell it through your nostril, and they're really small like the size chapstick, and you can keep them in your pocket and super convenient, and you can get them now. At a lot of CO OPS I've found that more and more starting to carry them so low co ops should have those Love it and you mentioned oils for spiking metabolism, and now I don't want to give away everything in your book, but tell us a little bit more about that, and then we can move on. Yes, so metabolism is huge I mean it's all based on how you're digesting. The food's main your body, so the I think the ones that four are like boosting metabolism are more like mint. You're going to be looking at also the digestion fennel ginger. And Grapefruit and lemon. Those are Kinda the main ones I use for mistaking metabolism and the way like to use them. Is. The bottom of your feet absorb essential oils extremely well. If you've ever heard of reflexologist, every part of your foot relates to a certain or in your body, and you can look up a reflexologist chart online, and it'll show you a whole map of your foot. If you don't WanNa go that in depth, you can obviously just rub it anywhere on your feet. I like the arches of your feet because the pores are the most. Most Open on your feet and ready to accept that essential oil and so Sammy. I know you've also talked a lot about how your mentality plays a part in a role in any sort of health journey, especially weight loss. So how can essential oil support us in that area? Cyprus's my main go to I. Love Cyprus Essential Oil, and I read once that it's really good for releasing perfectionism as like. This is my oil. And this is what I need. And as I was losing weight and going through this journey I was like okay now that I know I can lose a sleet or now that I know I can feel this good I need to keep doing that and anytime at eight something that didn't make me feel great, but I enjoyed eating it i. enjoyed going out with friends in eating I. I would beat myself up. Why did I do that? Why did I eat? That wasn't necessary. Cypress's always my go to like okay. I need to take a deep breath. It's out of I. Mean obviously I'm going to eventually eat things that don't agree with my body or that aren't aligning with what I liked to eat or should eat, but then I can't go out with friends. Basically stopping that if I limit everything I'm eating and they don't need the same diets as me. How are we ever going to go out? So Cyprus has been great for just like releasing that and realizing obviously no one's perfect, and that's been huge for me in just trusting myself, and then just going with the flow, the other one that's huge for me is clearly sage..

It's not but for listeners it so helpful to realize that you're not alone. And I've learned that from other people sharing their stories. It's been super helpful for me, so figure I, might as well share mine and hope I can help a few people nia absolutely well. Let's hear your story was starting with. How much weight have you lost in? What was that like for you? Yes, so this saul started lull I mean it's been my whole life, but I started this whole transformation about three years ago now and I had weighed like event I gained. Probably fifty pounds heavier than I. Am right now and I was completely unhappy in job that was toxic to me and just realized that something needed to change some family history came into effect, and I realized that you know I need to get my health under control, and I wanNA stop feeling like crap. I'm sick of it, and I decided to leave my job, and once I did that I mean a huge weight was lifted off me and I realized that I can do more I can find a new job I can take my own path. And jumped into some lifestyle changes I started just with a goal of losing I think it was five pounds at the beginning and was like this is never going to happen, but I'm going to set it. I'm going to try it. And I did a thirty day cleanse and had lost like fifteen. He's like Oh. Yeah, I think more of this can happen so. I kept changing diet more and more into a plant based Diet and have found that that's what my body thrives on. Can I feel more energized I sleep better. Digestion is regular and just mentally I am in so much of a better place I. Mean I still struggle with things -iety depression here and there, but the way I handle. It is completely did a couple years ago. So even just changes in Diet has been huge, and once I started losing weight I was like I can keep losing weight like a clearly have weight to lose, and can be so much healthier so I was tracking working with Dr on blood tests, and like even things like my cholesterol had changed significantly so huge transformation, and over like six months I had lost fifty pounds. and was feeling great so like I need to keep it this way because this is. This is where I feel good. This is my sweet spot. Wow, fifty pounds in sixty days. Did you say six five six months? Yeah, fifty pounds in six months. That is a lot that's congratulations into lot of struggle. Well, there's so many amazing takeaways from the story that you just shared and one that I took away. That I'm constantly reminding myself of reminding my listeners of is, don't try to bite off the whole chunk. Right at I just take. Some bites little baby steps to get. You started because you know. Had you started your journey outgoing? Will you okay I'M GONNA LOSE FIFTY POUNDS? You know that that is such a hit hard mentality to get into, but to start a journey off going. You know what I'm just GONNA lose five pounds. And once you achieve that little bit of success. It opens up these doorways. It opens up something in your brain. That allows you to say. Wow, I'm capable of that. What else am I capable of yeah I guarantee? If I had a goal of fifty pounds, I wouldn't have lost anything. It was all I need to start small I. Need to take it little by little, and once you reach your goals you. Successful you can do it so I. found that setting smaller milestones was a way to get me to my goal. I want also just the beginning of your story. It makes me think about how many people out there legitimately wake up every day and just feel like crap you know and we are magnificent human beings. We should be living life to the fullest and I know that that's that sounds like such a cliche, and it's super hard to do. I mean we live. Live in a capitalist fast pace, competitive, harsh society, and is not always easy to say oh. Let me seize the day. Let me get the most out of my life. Let me craft my life by design, but if you're one of those people that are waking up pretty much every morning and every night when you come home and every time you sit down at work, you go. I just feel like crap. Then I, guarantee you. There are little changes that you can do. Do to change your circumstances. Yes, like Sammy. What do you think was the key to just starting in? And what were some of your favorite tools that you used along the way I think for me like at the beginning I didn't realize how crappy I felt like I knew I didn't feel good, but I didn't know how good I feel, so it's like I'm just GonNa. Try a little bit I started working with the chiropractor and we came up with a thirty day. Day Plan for Diet changes, and that was huge I started a program and stuff to it and I. I think being able to stick to. It was really good for me, but I also feel like. I was almost overly dedicated. Focusing on other things I was really focused on that weight loss when I could have been focused on I. WanNa feel better. It's not necessarily about the weight and the number on the scale. I want to be able to feel better and. That was kind of my take away. After the thirty days I was really focused on weight. And then I was like you know what there's more to this because I can feel good, I can be less anxious I mean decreased medications, anxiety and insomnia so much since I started this, and it was just huge in realizing that food can kind of control you and it can control your body, so it's amazing. My favorite oil this week is Palo Santo. This plant whose Spanish name literally means. Means holy or sacred would is one of the most spiritually grounding and uplifting oils I've ever smelled. A lot of people have intense emotional connections to this oil.
