"The warning is due to the heavy rainfall that could cause smaller streams and creeks to quickly rise and then create some standing water situations on the roadways. Areas that could see some flooding include Santa Rosa, Petaluma, healdsburg, sebastopol, katari roner park, and others. According to the national weather service, this is not a flash flood situation. It's more of what they call a nuisance type of flooding. And if drivers encounter some deeper waters on the roads, officials say to stay safe and turn back, meanwhile, Bart officials say there could be system wide delays this morning and that is because of the wet weather, Bart reporting there may be delays of up to ten minutes, officials are asking riders to watch their steps on wet platforms and stairways. That service advisory was first sent out just before 6 o'clock this morning. If you're looking for a way to help your community in the new year, consider volunteering with the Red Cross, you probably think a blood drives when you think of the organization, but Red Cross volunteer grant graves says they actually do a lot more than that. The number one thing we do over 60,000 times a year is respond to home fires. I'm really the only organization in the United States that does that. So when someone's in need, they don't know where they're going to sleep, their house has been burned down. God forbid they have had a loss of a loved one. We're the team that comes out to try to look at how we can facilitate them, connect them to resources. You can also volunteer at a local blood drive or even by driving that blood to the hospitals where it's needed. Graves says he's making a career change to emergency management because of his experience as a volunteer with the Red Cross. Just ahead on Casey BS. I'm sure you're overwhelmed at this point, Ted trying to decipher it all. What's a kind of top priority right now for motorists? Well, right now we've been paying attention to this accident in Oakland to 8 80 northbound right near 23rd avenue in exit, it has been blocking the three left lanes. It's gotten a little bit better in the last few minutes, so I'm wondering if they're starting to open up more lanes, but still right at that accident, you will hit the brakes pretty hard, as well as the situation in South San Francisco one O one southbound right near oyster points earlier accident had the middle lanes blocked. They're still working on that one, but in both north and south directions, there's flooding, particularly in the middle lanes, so that's causing slowdowns, both directions there. One that I do want to mention though is Bart is being impacted by all this. They said there could be up to ten minute delays system wide today due to wet weather conditions. They advise you to watch your step as you're getting on the platforms and right now there is a 20 minute delay between south Hayward and Union City on the Barry S align in the various at Richmond and Daly City directions. This is due to an equipment problem on the train. So if you are taking Bart, do be aware of that being a factor. And CHP and the Dublin area has advised to slow down in The Rain and that hydroplane into the new year is not recommended. Your next update 7 18 on the

But I know you are also following some crashes in San Jose as well. We are, in fact, we're getting calls from the KCB phone force about a big backup on one O one in San Jose and I'm looking at it with a Chilton auto body collision camp. This is a serious crash. One vehicle overturned northbound one O one just passed the Tully road off ramp blocking at least the fourth lane from the left. We got a call from Kristen and she just drove by. She counted three cars involved, including that overturn. So delays, it's really jamming up southbound in northbound approaching the Tully road off ramp. We also have a stall, a minor backup on two 80 in San Jose downtown. I'm not too far away from that other crash. This is the off ramp to 7th street downtown San Jose, so some congestion there. And farther south, if your Friday getaway takes you into Morgan hill Gilroy, perhaps Monterey county. We do have a backup on southbound one on one of Gilroy. This is a hazard a possible stall pass leaves Lee road. Your next update, two 48, not the traffic leader. We are in between rain systems with chilly temperatures, highs and low 50s this afternoon. In an effort to offer more police transparency, San Jose is rolling out a new website aimed to make it easier to access records of officer misconduct. Keith manconi explains. So here, if you go to the independent police auditor official San Jose website San Jose's deputy chief innovation officer, Stephen Keynes, giving walkthrough of the city's new web portal, which offers digital access to police records made available under SB 1421 that California's police transparency law, covering police use of force or incidents of alleged misconduct. Independent police auditor siobhan nuri says that law has been a game changer. But it's also been difficult for average people to use now though. We've thrown all the responsive records on a dashboard, easily accessible to most anybody. Beyond transparency, the hope is that drawing together these records could also act as a deterrent for future police misconduct. It may, in some sense, create a deterrence for officers to be less likely to do unlock the rest or search to seizures. Now, I don't know if that will happen, but it is something I would hope to see. In San Jose, Keith manconi, we are following a Sam trans bus crash in daily city. "40 K CBS. Traffic and weather together on K CBS and Kim vestal has been covering part of our breaking news story this afternoon that is occurring in daily city involving a Sam trans bus and Kim, what can you tell us right now? Well, as you would imagine, a Friday afternoon in December, a sunshine outside the parking lot at ceremony center in front of target bustling with cars and shoppers and that's when earlier, over an hour ago, Sam transit public bus unexpectedly crashed into several vehicles and dozens of shopping carts was big red target shopping carts with flying every which way. So the area is now roped off several people have been transported to a hospital. We don't know exactly how many it hasn't been officially confirmed, but authorities are on the scene trying to piece together what happened. So avoid that's the south side parking lot there at target ceremony center. We've been tweeting updates a few videos as well. Check it out at kcbs a.m. FM traffic. I don't know if you can answer this. Does Sam trans bus service actually enter the parking lot at target on a regular basis? I do not know, but they may have, I know, shopping centers do have county buses come through to drop people off at bus stops, but I'm not particularly familiar with the setup at ceremony. So that's why we're really waiting to see where the authorities can tell us. They're trying to piece the situation together. They're not sure what happened. If the bus driver lost control or somebody crashed into him, there's just no way to know right now. And hopefully bob butler can get more information when he arrives. So avoid the area and traffic elsewhere, no other major drama in the Bay Area are afternoon commute Friday getaways. Just getting going and better on the east shore we had two crashes at emeryville, that's why both eastbound and westbound 80 pretty clogged up there on both sides of the shore. "Following a breaking news story in daily city inside the parking lot of a target shopping center. This is a Sam trans bus that crashed into at least ten cars and through a bunch of shopping carts that were stored in those metal barriers you typically see in a shopping center parking lot. One of the target carts is actually lodged underneath the Sam trans bus or several injuries. We'll get you the very latest. Kim vestal has you covered and we have bob butler on the way to the scene. Right now though we need to talk to San Francisco forty-niners because they're now new injury concerns, Joe Hughes joins us from the KCB as sports life. Yeah, the niners do have some health issues heading into this weekend's matchup with the dolphins, left tackle Trent Williams and wide receiver deebo Samuel, both officially listed as questionable for Sunday. Trent Williams had to leave practice today with back spasms he was seen limping off the field, not as head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if this has been an ongoing issue, and what's his level of concern for Sunday? I don't know him having many. I mean, I'm not too concerned about it. I asked Chris if he was all right, so that's just big guy problems once we used to get him sometimes. He usually have them on game day. That's a big deal. So he had him today. It's been the day resting and stuff. And expecting to be all right, but I hope that doesn't happen on Sunday. Well, that was the optimistic outlook from Kyle's Shanahan as for debo, Samuel, he was able to practice a little bit today, but Shanahan says he was very limited with that quad injury he did not practice yesterday, and Shanahan says there is some real concern that deebo Samuel will not be able to play this Sunday. So we'll have to wait. He will be a game time decision. As for Miami, they're dealing with some injury issues as well. They're starting right tackle Austin Jackson already ruled out for their game and their left tackle, terran Armstead, is doubtful for that game. So Miami could be without a pair of their starting offensive linemen, which means I'd expect a very big game from niners defensive in Nick Bosa and going from football to football we got some football I should say we got some updated injury news for the U.S. men's soccer team. Midfielder Christian Pulisic has been cleared to play in tomorrow's game against the Netherlands. He's been dealing with what was diagnosed as a pelvic contusion that forced him to leave the win over Iran with a first half goal, but he tweeted from the hospital bed that he will do everything in his power to be able to play tomorrow. "Front line, if it seems like a lot of people you know are sick with something, it's probably true. According to UCSF, the asymptomatic positivity rate is now twice what it was just a month ago. We get more from kcbs reporter Holly Kwan. UCSF COVID tests everyone that comes in no matter what their ailment. So this is a good measure of what's in the community. A month ago, it was less than 2% or one in 50. Now it's almost 5% or one in 20 people who feel fine that would test positive. What this means is that you can't figure your safe just because someone isn't coughing or sneezing. UCSF infectious disease expert, doctor Peter chin Hong. I think the difference is in this winter. Number one, more people going on number two, there are a lot of other things going around too. So you're going to catch something likely and it seems that almost everybody's sick right now. So there's influenza. There's RSV. There's causes of the common cold like rhinovirus. So people are getting something and then they're getting something else like a couple weeks later because it's not like you're getting reinfected, but there's so many different things to get that you wouldn't have immunity from one different thing that you got before. You might want to rethink not wearing a mask at the movies or indoor shopping. Doctor chin Hong says he's still going to the gym unmasked, but if it starts getting crowded, he'd probably put one on. All I want. Just ahead on Casey BS, we will get you much more on that bad bus crash and Sarah Monty. It's coming up. Right now with Kim vestal, she joins us from the local Honda dealers traffic center with a very latest. Again, yeah, you'll want to avoid the target south side parking lot at ceremony center in Daly City. That's where a Sam trans bus struck several vehicles. People are hurt, the sheriff's department is investigating the crash. They have the area coned off. They expect to be on scene for several hours. The place is bustling. People are holiday shopping. So avoid that portion of the parking lot and we'll continue to tweet updates and provide you with any other breaking news as we stay on top of the story and then we'll be hearing from bob butler, of course, is headed there. It would help them out a lot with the investigation. They don't have to deal with such a congested area. And they're going to be out there for a few hours. So these usually do take a while. So right off the ceremony, boulevard at the moment, I see a little bit of brake Tapping right by the Wells Fargo right by the entrance by target, but other than that, it's looking pretty good, but if you can just stay away for a while, we'll definitely keep an eye on this and give vessel she's up next, you'll also keep an eye on this as well. Happy to be here and we have Jeffrey Tumblin, director of transportation for SFM to AKA Communi. Thanks for coming on Jeff. The money. Deborah. I want to start with you and just acknowledge the loss of nine of your coworkers at Vita during the mass shooting. That attack is obviously complicated, restoring services. Can you give us an update on where Vita stands and getting back to pre pandemic service levels? Yeah. Thank you very much. And I just want to start out by thanking both our board chair. Glenn Hendricks, our interim GM Evelyn Tran, With with really setting the tone is to how do from day one from minute one is to How to to start to recover from that tragedy and one of the biggest things as they really set. Our priorities is what what was most important was taking care of the victims, Families taking care of employs and taking care of our writers and in that priority order That you know, we really had to focus on those needs and the needs of our employees in particular, encouraging the take advantage of support services and counseling. Otherwise, you know, how do we recover from a tragedy like that? And the support from the transit industry and transit? Thank you. Mike Kirsch, who And as well as Sam Trans. You sent us as an operator's the following day. Munich Golden Gate Transit San Increase Metro sent buses operators so their employees could grieve and support each other. So what we're in the process of doing right now is really making a plan for How do how do we restructure? How do we recover and started offering that service again? So we're in the midst of making that plan, you know, Thanks. The state Legislature who just approved some funding, um, to to do some of the physical improvements to to pay for some of that grievance counseling, um and and again can't think our employees enough who have works through such a difficult time. Because it's you know, we're really we're really looking at this point. You know the first few days ahead so that we can lift our heads a little bit. Look at how do we recover from the pandemic? As I understand. It was $20 million was allocated for that. Well that get you what you need in terms of being able to the the actual physical infrastructure that was Um, broken up during the attack. Uh, we're still in the midst of assessing that, but that's that's definitely gonna to help us, Um, with some of that physical infrastructure, But that's honestly part of the assessment we're doing right now is One of those physical needs. How do we address the emotional needs of our employees? And where are they able to come back to work? And if we need more than that, then how do we go about doing that? Planning for The short, medium and long term, But that's definitely the step in the right direction. Um, and in to do that planning took some of the same individuals are most directly affected so Some of this is just taking a bit of time to get the right people around the table and and to to be sensitive about how to really address these issues. Um and again. Have to just really call out to the rest of the transit industry who have offered their help and support. Um in terms of providing assistance in this decision making and And expertise as we go through this very difficult time really has been impressive to see other buses from other areas down there and just sort of the Commitment of the bear it to support our own. Bob Powers, general manager at Bart. You know, I'm I'm a Bart writer. Um and I've noticed ridership slowly creeping back up on my way into work. What's your plan to try and bring back really like the large numbers of riders onto onto the trains. Yeah. Thanks. So first, thanks for being a part writer. And, um, that's great to hear that I was out the system last night and I can report that. You know that work were clean. Um In June. Just this past month, we put more service out in the system with 26 trains during peak hour and 16 on the weekends will be back to pre covid ridership. Um and August. By on August 30th. A Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell, who's indicated he has an open mind on whether Trump should be convicted, voted against ending debate. Paul had told reporters earlier you make a point of order alleging the trialist. Contrary to the constitution and argument, multiple Republican senators have made at forced to vote on the point of order requiring senators to go onto the record about whether they believe the trial is constitutional.
