It's the savvy real tour with Angie Goal and the team at Ecole Realty. Well, it's just about time to wrap things up on this week's edition of the Savvy Real tour. Let's get to some more questions from our listeners here. We got a couple more before we're done for the week. Angie, this one's from Sam. Samson Chapel Hill and says, does updating my attic to become actual usable storage space. Bring any value to the home? That's a good question, Andrew. We hear a lot about people upgrading. You know their basements and things like that, But we don't often talk about the attic space. They go on to say I don't play on moving for another few years. But the quote I got to get an attic door with a built in ladder installed is about $2000. I just wonder if that cost is completely lost. Or if it will pay off in the long run. Oh, got it. Okay, so they would actually take away What's called, like the scuttle and they then would add, like drop downstairs, I think is what Sam's, you know, mentioning, or, you know his idea. Um, you know, as far as additional value, unfortunately, not now. Could it help to sell your home quicker, which then can drive and higher Price point? Yes, Storage is super important, right? And I think it's one of those things that a lot of times. People don't realize the layout of the home and the limited storage amount until they actually live in the home. And it's too late, right? And all of a sudden, they're like, man. I wish I had, like larger closets or more storage space like an attic. But I know personally I mean, storage space would be something I would be looking for when previewing homes, and so if you actually have a pull down Ladder to access additional storage in your attic. I think that's definitely a positive versus like a little scuttle, which is more of a like a piece of plywood. You just kind of pushed to the side. Typically, those are used more for access to mechanicals, and it's not even a large enough cut out to really bring boxes up. You know, it's a smaller space to case seems look expensive to me, though. Yeah, that does. That would be my suggestion would just get an additional quote or two? Just to make sure you're not Sam. I have some some awesome vendors. And if you need a contractor to get a second estimate, give me a ring. And I'll connect you to K Seems a little little steep. But you know again, it I don't know about additional value, but I think it definitely could help to get your home sold quicker. Absolutely. Good question, Sam and yeah, reach out to Angie, If you want to get Little bit more info and some contacts to some additional contractors. Just think it's a better quote. Maybe. And then that might make the project even easier for you to decide on if that ends up in more affordable and even less than what you've already been quoted 919538 64 77 is Angie's number to get in touch caller text 9195386477. She can put you in touch with a few folks who might be able to help out a little bit further. I know Angie, I would be really, You know, it's I would feel like you would get the cost back out of the home in a more of a nebulous way, like you're not going to attach that cost to the home in a couple of years, But I'm much more attracted to Home that has an accessible attic for storage space versus one that's much more difficult to do anything with. So right, right? Yeah, like attic Put downstairs is not something we say. Okay, we now can add an additional 2000 onto your home where an additional bathroom automatically. Okay. You now get more value, but again, it will drive more traffic. I bet you would get an offer a lot quicker because it does have that feature because George is super important, which In in in return will drive a higher price point overall. Yes, run with it, Sam, But let's get you a second estimate. Very cool. Thanks, Sam. For the question, all right. One more here from Brit Brit is in Clayton and says Canada upgraded closet pay for itself. If we end up selling soon, I would see us staying in this home for a long time. But there's also a possibility. We move later this year. A job thing I'm guessing I don't want to wait on decking.

"Sam tries to fix his family's boat himself and his unable to do so he can save the world but he can't say of his family's business and We go to switzerland where touris- tens a flash mob meet up for this group of flag smashers and he tries to learn some more buts or makes him arrested. Whatever he's trying to do. I don't even know what he's trying to do but he's incompetent in. The scene seems really incompetent. Yes but also he comes face to face with some mass terrorists. who seem to have superpowers. And i i feel like i if you are a member of the military or a secret service organization of some kind in the marvel universe. You've had over ten years now to get your act together to confront people in masks. He's like this is pretty battled new york bullshit as opposed to somebody should know he's doing that whole characters supposed to just be like the audience surrogate and and it sort of is a weird line to draw a win like he's an armed forces officer of some kind like theoretically he would have all of this all of these skills and training and all of this kind of stuff but also he's supposed to be like the odd. I'm in over my head in the situation just like any of you would be if you were to step into this kind of environment kind of things. it's like. What exactly are we doing here. What's going on sam's like aren't useful. Just looking at them on the internet. Like why are you there They did mention that. they seem to have superpowers. do they have superpowers superpowers. Or is it. Just a one person who has superpowers. Because it seems like just that one person has like super strength. At least i don't know what did you think about that jury selection. I have no idea. I don't think when they're like handing out those masks that the masks bestow power on anybody obviously he had one. But so i think it was. Just i think it's just one person that has that's like overly super strength defied or whatever and because this is related to the captain america universe. I have to assume that super serum is somehow involved but out. I guess we'll learn in upcoming episodes Torres facetime sam chosen the footage of altercation. And just then on. Tv there's a press conference in washington dc from the department of defense in the announcement is of a new captain. America symbol to inspire protect And outcomes actor wyatt russell who you might remember from what ten cloverfield lane what else is n. He's an overlord overlord. Yeah he was in fx show. What was that. i didn't watch. is it ladder. Forty three is that right while shorting one lodge it. sorry. I'm on the ladder. Forty three john travolta movie from many many years ago Twenty two jump street. That's probably the big thing that our our audience from covering aliens him playing little mickey in cowboys and aliens. I definitely did or case in twenty two jump street and he is kurt russell's son and and it looks it looks just like his father. It's y yeah. He's in the first avenger costume complete with shield. That was a i guess. It's the same shield that sam donated to the smithsonian which seems like a really big slap in the face. The sam samson immediately regret this. I one thing. I wanted to point out. After seeing the this episode of sag time that when he was at the smithsonian there was this government official i came up to sam said Like thanked him for for doing it or something like that. And that is the same government. Official bet makes the announcement at washington. Dc so so so why it plays this character or before getting to the sexually. Then what did you think of this moment. wyatt russell has a real real goofy face and that mask that was my big takeaway from this. He's got this like shucks smile on his face and just like the round -ness of it and like the we haven't seen captain america wear. Has he still wears it in game. Occasionally i'm just so used to seeing chris evans without wearing that that mask wearing the costume from the neck down that i just wanna see white russell's like a handsome dude. He's got a glorious man of hair. I just wanna see his. I wanna see him maskless in that costume but You know wrapped up with that little jaw strap and everything else just like man. what a what. A goofy image is. I think it was done purposefully. I was going to say. I think that's the point. The point is like this is not right is going on here. What is this guy in white. He winking at us. And why is that. Not steve rogers. jacob what did you think. It's a good moment. It's a good cliffhanger really. It's definitely the big insult and the episode after donating that shield in a in a moment of trying to honor his friend. Here it is being spit back out of him. Something at the thing that he thought he could never replace a bunch of government said. Well we place you. And it's going to be the driving force. Going forward sam and really curious to see how right also character fits in this episode because characterized playing the comics out sues for more intimate because its potential spoilers. Interesting characters least okay. Why don't we just get into the speculation section because there's some there's that in there are some references in the credit sequence itself which i think could be considered speculation in spoilers so i if you don't wanna listen to it to now or you can fast forward all put the time code of when the interview. The showrunner is in the show notes. But i think most of the people here. They're here for a spoiler discussion because they want to. Speculate and stuff so Jacob tell us about it's character. yeah. He plays a john walker. Who has a long history of being an anti hero. Any villanova university comics. He was replaced him. Captain america when captain when rogers stepped away and he became here in the us agent after that sort of where they very similar customary caution with some key changes and essentially well. He looks like steve rogers he has. You know old-fashioned clean cut him. You know american you know leading man look. He is a much harder. Edged person with really broken morals. He fights batman in that it's just Take no prisoners. He does not pull punches. Like steve does. It doesn't have moral compass. He's essentially He's actually a captain. America broke bad more or less an. Us agent has a long history of you know occasionally fighting on the side of good but more often fighting inside of gray of being like the guy who don't you can trust him and he's a really interesting character because he represents what a lot of people think. America is which is the sort of all stars and stripes and bluster but behind the scenes. You know breaking arms and legs in hurting people in causing more damage. The saving so johnnie walker seems to be at least the third villain of the show next to the still unseen burns. Eamonn the flag smashers. Yeah and then. The credit sequence has like some imagery that re as a bunch of references in one of them is a reference to the powerbroker You know who the powerbroker is. Have the baxter on that. I know it's a scientist villainous. Scientists they created like super soldiers vita more than that Once again peter my memorial knowledge is slipping here..

"I am one Carlos bag now. Some gadget guy your host for this This weekly new show end the Qa of this terribly horribly named podcast series Stanford question and answer. We like to have an interactive discussion with the news of the week. And why I like to hold my podcast on a Monday is give us little time. Kinda sort out. What's going on in the world of tech comeback to some of our dealings. Maybe some news is broken over the weekend. We can all share some thoughts and have a fun and engaged conversation about what's going on in the world today and I'm already seeing a crazy great lineup. This is a full Chat already for for this week show An Ink Guy Luke. Vazza Coast Jam X. Warrior Sentinel Nine Nine Imran Nil. Otok who Charley Spirit. Song Matt Tyler. Heiki I saw. Lfa reviews at one point and swipe or nineteen eleven. Everyone saying good morning. I hope you all are having fantastic. Start Your week at your. Mondays are going well. Especially knowing that some of you are in time zones where your Monday is already wrapping up from reviews. Good Morning Shelter Day number twenty two the saga continues own. Sam Samson Chat Sam has been doing his own livestream two on Sundays. And Sam. Streams are pretty good. You should be checking those out also. So Yeah we've got We've got a lot to cover. We've got some news. I'm going to be continuing on with my absolutely ridiculously childish assessment of what's happening in the world today as seems to prevent my videos from getting demonetized on Youtube and it's not just the individual videos that get hurt when your channel has too many of these strikes against it hurts the whole channel. So while we're talking about some big time adult grownup conversations. I'll be referencing. What's happening in the world today by winking at the camera while saying the situation and I hope that someone in the live chat will fill everyone else in on. What's going on with? The situation has already put it in quotes quote the situation so oh it's sexy pat and Petar joining up right now to excellent excellent good. I'm glad to have you all on board. I want to jump right in a cover some housekeeping last week housekeeping got way out of hand because I was massively sleep-deprived Just you know work life family life. The mixing of those and trying to get some sleep over the weekends and stuff It's a I I'm sure all of us are going through some challenges and Hopefully we can come together as a community to take some of the burden off. Take some of the load off and also just share and just talk and tell stories and have a good time. I T K Bay is in the live chat. Everyone's good morning. T K T K. My Bay is in the live chat and also tk has been bringing back his Saturday morning with the sliced attack. Some great live streams in podcast style conversations to reviews. What is this sleep you speak of? I work at home but having Marie work at home and trying to keep lex engaged and entertained. My schedule is way off and it's been tough. I mean those types of transitions are difficult under the best of situations Best of circumstances and You know obviously a number of us are trying to figure out. What the new normal defying finding some stasis It's It's it's been a challenge so We've got a few things to talk about this week. And hopefully some of those challenges can be dealt with and and We can ease some of this for some people out there and then We'll also have some fun tactic to talk about too. It's sexy pat. I'm curious a of parents are home schooling and if so what are they teaching their kids? Well the first half of that we can help late. That's going to be a part of housekeeping. So let's jump into some housekeeping and I'm going to try and keep housekeeping from running. What did we do last week? We cut we got done with housekeeping and then I went back in and then we had a couple of questions and it ended up being like a half hour block. Last week's episode was the longest podcast. I think I've produced to date. It was was like two hours and forty minutes of talking. I don't think I can do two hours. And forty minutes of talking but damn warriors saying housekeeping is going to be twenty minutes. What's my over under? I'm going to try and be out in ten ten. We're going to try and do ten so it's nine zero seven in the. Am Pacific Time Right. Now let's let's jump into The top stories. All of the stories that we're going to be talking about all of the links that we're going to be sharing everything's going to be available on the show notes on some gadget guide dot com. You can find all of the podcast episodes all of the the subscription links the audio feed everything that you want some gadget guide dot com. And it's also my mic place for everything that I produce a but the first thing that I wanna I wanNA talk about something. That's on a friend's On a friend's show and here I'm an screen share now so I was honored to join Andy and flow. Ion on the material podcast. The material podcast is a weekly discussion about the Google and android universe. You're intrepid hosts. Try to answer the question. What's up the digital what holds up the digital world? The answer so far is that it's Google all the way down so episode number two forty eight smartphones in quarantine. I joined flow for a fairly long conversation. Thankfully they cut down the conversation quite a bit but it was a fairly long conversation to talk about her very very first on boxing impressions on the LGBT. Sixty there's A. There's a part of me that I kind of hope at some point an extended cut of this conversation goes out there. Flow is one of my absolute favorite people in the world. We don't get the opportunity to talk as often as we'd really like to is just tech pals and so there was probably about an hour of us. Just how's life? How are you holding up? What are you doing? How are things in your neck of the woods and it's supposed to be about the LGBT sixty but it sort of derailed into this sort of rambling conversation about tech empathy. Something that I've been Fairly concerned about is how to relate to each other putting ourselves in other people's shoes and using technology to further a very human human relationships so not all of that podcast episode. But it's still a pretty good chat and had some some engaged conversation about a phone that I'm I'm very very much enjoying using and her early experiences setting it up so That's the material podcast episode number. Two forty eight that Alonso. Be IN THE SHOW. Notes linked in the show notes Now to some gadget guy proper. We had a lot I. We had a lot go live last week. So I'm just GONNA run it down Yesterday I was able to finally get this video out. There's.

"We're going to say okay if if God is going to give this new a new meaning he can do that if he if he understood a meaning. We didn't know he can do that but when we look at this passage is like this I and this is where we get into some of our differences. If you're dispensational covenant or or wherever you may be on this because some of us are going to interpret these things a little different based on backgrounds so I believe that you interpret first so we're gonNA take who's Ahah passage we I interpret that in light of what he's saying here and so here he was speaking of Israel and if we keep reading they're they're talking about sacrifices and things like that so clearly. He's speaking of Israel calling them out now. How do we reconcile that with? What Matthew says well? There's a couple of ways to reconcile this. That are kind of easy to do. One Matthew doesn't tell us which prophet he was referring to and not all of the Prophets for example Matthew. Matthew is going to refer to it. AH PROPHECY THAT JESUS WOULD BE NAZARENE. We don't have that in the Old Testament. What profit was he referring to so there were profits that they knew of oral prophecies that weren't part of scripture or prophets that may have said way more than they wrote wrote in scripture and people know what was attributed to them and so that is one possibility in some of these okay and the one where we don't have any record in the old testament well that that would be the assumption is he's referring to a prophet that they were aware of having said that and by the way that one is a little problematic because it's referring to a Nazar right versus a Nas- right vow and so he's a Nazarene because he was born in Nazareth but many would think of it that he's a Nas- right because there is a Nazareth vow that you look at Sam Samson as an example he held to the Nazareth vow he so worried was supposed to and so the Nasdaq vow had a couple of things? You're not talk to drink anything from the vine so no no wine. You're not to touch anything dead and you're not to cut your hair now. Most people didn't do that vow for Life Paul all did that and you know Samson we see so it was around back and Samson's time and he was a nas- right as well. Jesus was called Nasr rate for living in Nazareth. Maybe I mean that's the context there but he probably we think was also Nazareth. Vow <hes> which is why the pictures you see of Jesus. He has long hair so I would say with this one it is it's a little bit harder to reconcile reconcile a unless maybe out of Egypt I called my son is something that was commonly known by one of the prophets that didn't write that down or one of the other prophets that didn't read scripture not sure 'cause here. Matthew doesn't tell us and so these are ones that we he ended up saying okay. We're GONNA take this. We ultimately we look at this and say well because we we accept that the New Testament is inspired by God then with God writing inspired scripture then it is going to be accurate because God can't lie hi so we may not fully understand it and so that's how I you know. Each one of mine have to look. I don't know which ones from Paul you're thinking enough but I know the ones in Matthew are an I actually knew someone he did his doctorate thesis on <hes> just on these prophecies in Matthew and he he went through each one of them and had had given a lengthy lengthy like each one of these he had books worth of <hes> explanation for and he sent me the full document his full dissertation was like Oh like nine nine hundred plus pages on each one of these so I could go. Try to look that up and get an answer but I don't know I'm reading all nine hundred pages cody during during this time of the show just saying does that help you at all or did I just get even more confused. No no that was great. That was helpful. They're Nice New Year outside in nature. I hear the birds indeed thanks now all right Andrew. You're next in here didn't know if you have any questions for us tonight or for me. Since it's just me I do actually could I have you. Your volume is up. I think right note isn't there we go. I'm sorry I'm trying to think of the phrasing watching another of events clips with the ammon-ra or aronoff demanding scientific evidence for God and then losing his mind. I guess I was wondering what scientific evidence would why he would mean by scientific evidence into seems to me. That's a word you can just throw something behind the evidence so there's a reason that you get people like him doing this one because it is an impossible question. It's a logical fallacy man therefore it sounds like we have science on our side and you just have faith faith and that's how you want to sound but let's break down the question and examine it so I I defined science while science is the study of the material world the natural world right. Yes let's define God. God is a spirit sure it that means he's immaterial is not made of material things therefore it is impossible to use science chance to study anything that's immature. You can't use science to prove. I love my wife. Yes that science has limits for example. The example I always give is say we could use science. The prove everything I say okay crew meet scientifically that George Washington was the first American President and they have to appeal to history well. That's a different branches study. you see though I try and guys myself yet yeah and so we're we're gonNA use for for something like that. We're GONNA use history well. If we're going to be the nature and the the the immaterial will now now. We're going to get into philosophy because that's that's study. If you WANNA be again do of God then we're going to get into religion and we're going to use that branch of study because each of these branches study now when we get into religion can I from a religious religious studies show objectively that which religion is true. Yes I can objectively and you may have heard me do this before Andrew but for for maybe some new listeners viewers there's only two religions in the world. There's a man made religion in the divine religion case dot setup in the one that men's set up and so the question is how do we judge which one is manmade in which one is the one that God wants us to do and the way to do that is to recognize one simple thing about human nature. We always add our efforts to everything so we can get claim some credit well. That's what we have and end up. Having is the fact put that the you can you can look at any religion and say okay if you add human works now. I know we have our Catholic friends. Who are are watching? This is where I'm going to say. They have a man made religion because they have faith faith plus works once you add that human work that's manmade. If you have Islam one good deed counts for <hes> <hes> ten bad deeds well then you have works. If you WANNA do Second Temple Judaism the you can look at that and say okay that is doing Torah doing the law so you end up having these different things that you look to say. Is there human effort it added any religion where human efforts added manmade done. What's the only one that doesn't have manmade? That's in that category. It's biblical Christianity Org. God does all the work at the cross again. Now I now objectively examine this and abjectly say which category every religions in now that tells us which religion is true <hes> you could argue from philosophy and the the philosophical argument would be to examine Ken you even reason about there being a God without first having an ability to reason no you can't you need the ability to reason I <hes> okay if we we have an ability to reason this is what he'll donor stand of the cart when he said I think therefore I am he was being the ultimate skeptic. Any people should read the history of that. They we know that quote and quote proves that God doesn't exist and they don't even know that's that's a faust it's wrong because that's the thing he was trying to prove off in his skepticism is that God doesn't exist and in that what he ended up realizing his I think therefore I am. I think the fact fact that I think means that I have being the fact that I'm being means. God exists. I think R._E._M.. Was the carts argument for for the existence of God he the fact that we have an ability to reason requires God yep right because chemical reactions cannot produce then ability to reason chemical reactor are right right now if we're going to argue from a creation science perspective <hes> and now this isn't so much an argument for God. This is an argument against <hes> evolutionist view of a big bang. You only have a couple options for the beginning of the universe either. The universe always always existed the universe created itself. I'm one or something created the universe those three three options Einstein proved that the universe had a beginning so it could turn okay so that's science proving that <hes> logically it couldn't have created itself because to create itself it. I must exist. This is the reason that anytime talk to an atheist and they want to argue they always argue from the the beginning of the universe having already existed or life already existing they don't ask question of the origin of it because that's where they have a problem when you get into the origin of the universe it did have a beginning and it's logically impossible that created itself off because I have to exist. So what do we have well. The only thing we have left is someone or something created the universe and the question is what is that someone or something well. That's where we're going to look into philosophy. We're GONNA look into religion and realize the only plausible answer is got because <hes> whatever created the universe is what we're calling God because that is the Creator Ultra Okay so which God God that's where we go into religion and we use my to religion argument so it's pretty good yeah so that's how I would I would do that. "From wondering and Bloomberg. I'm Joe Nocera. And this is the shrink next door. This is episode four the familia. I Assyrian to host a party for his wife's birthday at mardi summer. House seem normal enough. Both mardian. I prepared for the event together. I can mmediately began to work on the guest list. It was long more than seventy guests. There were Becky Hirsch cov friends, of course, but also many people connected to some like Sam Samson who had grown up with him, but also from medical school and current colleagues, Marty was impressed. I knew how to party, I will tell you that Ainu had hire the best caterer, he knew how to have the setup. Just exactly right. And he was basically showing off. He loved to show off mardi rolled up his sleeves and got to work. He would basically, then enlist me to help them with the invitations and to help them get the whole house ready for the for the function. The party was made twenty fourth a Sunday that morning. Marty busied himself setting up a drink station near the gazebo and laying out the buffet. Just before noon, the bus for Manhattan pulled up outside Sam Sampson piled out with the other guests and looked around a lot of people from the upper side from the synagogue. I think that he was trying to impress Sam was certainly impressed. He and I could grown up together in Washington heights, which at the time was a Jewish working class neighborhood between Harlem and the Bronx. Now here was his childhood friend hosting an extravagant party in the Hamptons, we didn't get back probably very late that evening at night, and everyone was impressed. Well, I did. Well, yeah, Sam was pretty sure he was on the guest list, because I could just set him up with a new job. Just an you know, I'm about the fire somebody might company. Would you be interested? I think yeah. The company was associated fabrics Marty's company. He had. AFC catalogs associated fabrics corporation catalogs. Like on a copy table that everyone saw so people would ask him. I remember asking him. I what you have to do with the societas apposite. Yeah..

"This week fabulous prizes await those who correct correctly predict the winner people are already calling for a ban on any helium party balloons on Twitter. It's already I'm telling you, I give it I give it maybe not today. But maybe Monday or Tuesday triple tweet about it. Something about doing Helius outta this gets on Trump's right? I think I think it does anything. I think I think he's going to take over the public's mind like took over this show. Maybe he would point Twitter feed is blowing up finding out about it. I feel like I'm getting a little bit lit up for Sony anti balloon. I'm going to double down, you know, what ban all balloons. Helium balloons. I don't even days. Why do you want to put our show in such a precarious controversial position like that? Sam. Balloons are awful the opinions of Sam Samson's, if your do not reflect those of drew, but in good news. I was just hired by the Mylar industry. Lobby y'all. For the just to get caught up. And we have some things we'll get to to get caught up. There was a story that we found when the show started the party said he was closing forty five stores. And when I saw the headline I was like one, you know. Okay. I I was surprised just because you don't see a lot of party supply places party said he is kind of it. And it was because of the fact that we're facing a helium a helium shortage, and that's ninety percent of their revenue are the my lar- party balloons, and when you couple when you look at this story and compare it to all the different ways that we are looking to save the environment in in, you know, grab people's tax payer dollars light bulbs mean it's just as an example, and all this type of stuff in here, you have an actual resource that we are going to run out of that we cannot duplicate and yet we're to the point where we've almost depleted all of our resources, and we do use it for really important scientific research, and and space research and medical research, simply because there's no. No political capital attached to it. Neither side could grab onto it. And no agenda could go and do anything with it. We haven't been talking about it. And because of that, you know, you're not going to have a bunch of scientists or, you know, site medical professionals or scientists out there protesting sable the union. So now, you got stores that are closing down or we're going to run out of helium soon. Well, I guess we know what's going to be in all of those future avatar movies. On on our team, Ian will be replaced by helium. Well, if we could go to the moon and try to get more for those V super tweeted, let me find this tweet real quick that was the movie moon was about that mining helium three. You are. Absolutely, right. I just saw that like within the past year. I completely forgot about that friend of the show. Joe on Twitter said helium can be made through radio-active decay and be found in natural gas released by volcanic activity, so make more nuclear reactors store, the material in the ring of fire and weight problem solved down with that. Got villa to that sounds like really solid science to me. And to that since you brought it up drew can we can do this real quick so nuclear power plants, and we we mentioned this yesterday nuclear power plants are so big complicated and expensive to build that more are shutting down than opening up an Oregon company new scale power wants to change that trend by building nuclear plants that are the opposite of existing ones. They're smaller. Simpler and cheaper. The company says it's plan design using small modular reactors could also work well with renewable energy such as wind and solar. I'm convinced they're just saying that right? Because they know I mean, look if you're going to try to have a startup where you're going to try to convince people because they're basically the the the the photograph. It looked like the your your industrial parks. It looked about an area the size of an industrial park where they were going to build these small nuclear power plants. They say that they could provide backup trinity when the wind is. And blowing in these sun isn't shining. But the reality is I think they put that in there because they know they're going to have to get the environmentalists on board that are pushing for wind and solar. If you're going to have any sort of future convincing the public or anybody else that hey, we can build smaller efficient nuclear power plants. Yeah. I mean, locally the the champion for nuclear Giller nuclear nuclear nuclear nuclear on this. Out on this. Thank you was always Amy coke when she was when she was majority leader in the Senate, you know, she was a big proponent of that kind of power and still is, you know, there's always hope that that's something that we're going to be able to expand upon though, the political realities make it highly unlikely in this company seems to be zeroing in on something that I feel like a lot of the environmental activists miss out on is what do you do in it's dark outside and when the wind's not blowing right? And that's that part gets left out of the conversation. And they're talking about one hundred percent renewable energy up at the capital doing that mandate by by twenty fifty. And and I asked I said, okay, great. But but what about when the weather's hydro there? Hydro is like ninety nine point nine percent developed all of the spots that get high yield hydro-electricity are already built it. That's not a that's not a scalable option. And there's a big solar farm down by Jeremy Munson. And.

I can think of a couple one is to outsource those pies to outsource the alcohol. You know, wine and spirits and and specialty soda pops. And all that kind of stuff that that can add up, and I don't want to put the arm on anyone who's coming to to my thanksgiving meal. But the everyone always asks is is there something I can bring and I say, yeah, bring a bottle of wine or two or bring something to drink and they do in in. And we find ourselves stocking up sometimes through through the end of the holiday season as a result of this. I think that's the the the fairest way of spreading the the cost around. I don't particularly recommend taking taking a shortcut on the bird itself and going for that supermarket frozen factory bird. But by the same toe. Oaken? I don't think you have to get a bird who went to college and major in liberal arts. I think you can kind of find a middle ground. "He will be back tomorrow. Listen, we're talking about Colin Kaepernick the Nike ad, and I'm glad that it brought him back into the forefront. I'm glad that we're talking about this kind of thing before we go to your phone calls eighty eighty eight ten let me let me share one little snippet with you. Because I'm torn in this issue on the one hand I wanna buy Nike gear because I want to support Colin Kaepernick, I really do and their sales have gone up. Thirty one percent on the other hand. I was reading a piece by Dave's 'Iran. He's a sports writer is wonderful. And he off times he kind of brings me back to reality. And this is one of the things he's got a long article. But this is a short part of what he says he says it is satisfying that after two years in the political wilderness. He referring to cap is getting an outpouring of support from of from those defending an added with a message that reinforces the power of political sacrifice Nike is the official sponsor of the NFL. So this ad campaign is a thumb in the eye of every owner who has colluded against him, but global multi-billion dollar corporations that run an archipelago of sweatshops don't underwrite rebellions, they co opt and quash them. If anyone can navigate this snake pit it is Colin Kaepernick, but it won't be easy. The revolution will not be branded. We should be honest about that the message of standing up to police violence and racial in any inequity shouldn't end up in a Swoosh Laden graveyard. So are you torn on this issue to or do you take one side or the other? And please tell me that you recognize what Colin kaepernick's protest was actually about that. You don't believe that it was an attack against the United States of America or our troops. Eight hundred eighty eight tennis the telephone number eight oh eight oh, a ten. Let's go to John John's calling from San Francisco. Hey, John, welcome to k- GO. Joe John, Pat, I I feel the same way as you do about the caller Nick at and what I wanted to specialize. So inspired by that. I wanted to get something from Nike, and I don't need anything. But what I sound. They have at the store on post street is they have these headbands and I flipped by ES three of them for fifteen dollars, and they're all different colors, and they say Nike Nike Nike Nike. I put on my hat band. I'm Uber driver, and I got so many compliments about it. I gave to my passengers. And I just think that Colin Kaepernick as a result of credit and to support and sodas Nike for doing this. And I think temporarily it overshadows sweatshop stuff, you know, because this is a big step. It's a it's a big step. But it's hard for me to say that anything should overshot overshadow sweatshops if the sweatshops are ongoing. I mean, I I. Really? Well, I I hope so. Oh, thank you. I do. I love the campaign. I absolutely love it. And I love the way they've done it. You know, I'm looking at right now at the print. I'm looking at Collins face. I'm looking at, you know, the writing that says believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything, and it makes the hair on my arms stand up it gives me goosebumps because I think it's done. So well, it's so good. But you know, the ad doesn't mention racial inequality. It doesn't mention with the protest was about. I read that into the ad because I know what it's about. And I thank you. I'm glad that. I'm glad that you were able to support cap in the way that you did let's go to Sam Samson Sacramento Sam. Hi, welcome to Keiji. Oh, hello. I am so grateful for this topic because I'm one of the sworn. Yeah. I am forty eight wealth former forty nine fan. I am not attending a game. I am not watching him on TV until I still like it. Something address the underlying injustice. I am very happy to capture Nick. Included in his hundred and sixty three million dollars contract and mandated clause with wiring Nike to support and fund educational empowerment programs about social Justice human rights, finding that they have been cultivated to dare Iligan on the backs of, you know, Chinese sweatshop labor, right? That said I hope also that we don't have, you know, thousands of urban youth fighting each other over the cost of trying to get one shoop this goes, but I'm not binding apparel until I see something more parent in deeper. But I think that everything's spot. Everyone squad. King was a womanizer. Yes. He did some great good. So let's see where we can encourage Nike to be a little bit more internally consistent. That's my message. Thank you. Message. And I appreciate it very much as anybody concerned about Donald Trump and his hypocrisy in this that it was such an important issue to him. But it's not when Nike is involved because they pay him a lot of money. Let's go to Joe. He's calling from Daly city Joe. Hi, welcome to Keiji. Oh. I was calling to say that I think. Joe you went away give us a call back. Okay. I don't know what happened. But your phone was disconnected. Let's go to Ted Ted's calling from Los Gatos. Hey, ted. Welcome to K G. Oh, good morning. The the Nike ad should read y plays football play politics. No concussions. Okay. That's because it's all about money. You think you think Nike is some kind of moral again in the business world. Now, Nike sales went up thirty one percent. That's what end so Nike made a business decision. I believe and but in that business decision they've put out a pretty amazing message believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything you would embrace that message would to Ted. Would you different message? What is it? I wouldn't touch Mike Nike stuff if they paid me. Okay. But that's not what I meant. But see how the split is. Is there? It's gonna be just like politics the split. They go to this just like your marketplace radio station, you guys split it. And you divide it, and you divvy it up, okay? That's yeah. We are a money making a radio station. But that's not the issue here that you're I think what you're telling me as you hate Nike is that it or is it is it specifically the capper Nick ad that you're referring to. Nike. I got some Nike stuff. I'm not gonna burn it. Okay. So I'm confused about what you're saying. Here. You don't like the ad campaign. I think it's a waste of money. And I know I said a waste of money if it's imp- increase their sales thirty one percent. Right right now. I mean, that's just a little bump. It's good. It's not going to be that way at Christmas. Okay. Well, thirty one percent isn't a little bump. And I'm a little confused on the one hand you're criticizing the idea that it's about money and on the other hand, you're saying that it's not a good way to spend your money. So I'm a little bit confused about what your position is what the ad says is believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything I didn't make that up. That's what the ad says that's the verbiage on the ad itself. So these are the questions, I mean, I think the ad is extraordinary. But it's Nike, and I do have issues with Nike the so they're not, you know, the big supporters of human rights, and like Dave's Aaron said rebellions, they're not that they're the opposite of that in places where their goods are manufactured. So I am torn. I want to support Nike because Nike supporting cap, I think what cap has done with the contract earlier caller mentioned I think they'd cap is putting forth. An extraordinary message and it happens to be with Nike. So should I ignore that? And go ahead and buy Nike headband or something else because I want to support capper Nick, eight hundred eighty eight ten is the telephone number eighty eighty eight ten and what do you think of the fact that Donald Trump has commented very little he said, it was the wrong thing to do. But he wasn't going to comment on it. Because Nike pays him a lot of money. They're attendant of his. There's some real principles eight hundred eighty eight ten I'm Pat Thurston for Ethan Bearman. He referring to cap is getting an outpouring of support from of from those defending an ad with a message that reinforces the power of political sacrifice Nike is the official sponsor of the NFL. So this ad campaign is a thumb in the eye of every owner who has colluded against him, but m- global multi-billion dollar corporations that run an archipelago of sweatshops don't underwrite rebellions, they co opt and quashed them. And please tell me that you recognize what Colin Kaepernick protests was actually about. And that you don't believe that it was an attack against the United States of America or our troops. Eight hundred eighty eight tennis the telephone number eight oh eight oh, a ten. Let's go to John John's calling from San Francisco. Hey, john. Welcome to K G O. Oh. On Pat, Pat. I feel the same way as you do about the caller traffic at and what I wanted to socialize. So inspired by that. I wanted to get something from Nike, and I don't need anything. But what I sound with. They have at the store on post street is they have these headbands and I flipped by ES them for fifteen dollars, and they're all different colors and say Nike Nike Nike Nike. I I put on my hat band. I'm Uber driver got so many compliments about it to to my passengers. And I just think that Colin Halpern if God's as a result of credit and supports and sodas Nike for doing this, and I sink temporarily it overshadows sweatshop stuff, you know, because this is a big step. It's a it's a big step. But it's hard for me to say that anything should overshot overshadow sweatshops if the sweatshops are ongoing, I mean, I can't. Jumper early. Well, I I. And I thank you. I do I love the campaign. Hi, welcome to K, G O. Hello. I am so grateful for this topic because I'm one of the. Morning. Forty well, former a forty Niner fan. I am not attending a game. I am not watching him on TV until I still like did something address the underlying injustice, happier. The capper Nick included in his hundred and sixty three million dollars contract and mandated clause wiring Nike to support and fund educational empowerment programs about social Justice human rights, finding that have been cultivated two billion on the backs of, you know, Chinese sweatshop labor. Right. That's said I hope also that we don't have thousands of urban youth fighting each other over the cost of trying to get one tapping shoe stupid this goes, but I'm not buying apparel until I see something more parent in deeper. But I think that everything's spot. Everyone is squad. King was a portly womanizer yet. He did some great good. So let's see where we can encourage Nike to be a little bit more internally consistent. That's my message. I think is a good message. And I appreciate it very much as anybody concerned about Donald Trump and his hypocrisy in this that it was such an important issue to him. But it's not when Nike is involved because they pay him a lot of money. Let's go to Joe. He's calling from Daly city Joe. Hi, welcome to cagey. Oh. I was calling to say that I think. Joe you went away give us a call back. Okay. I don't know what happened. But your phone was disconnected. Let's go to Ted Ted's calling from Los Gatos. Hey, ted. Welcome to Keiji. Oh, good morning. The Nike ad should read y plays football play politics. No concussions. Okay. That's because it's all about money. You think you think Nike is some kind of moral? Again. In the business world. Now, Nike sales went up thirty one percent. That's what. And so Nike made a business decision. I believe and but in that business decision they've put out a pretty amazing message believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything you would brace that message would Ted. Would you give different message? What is it? I wouldn't touch Mike Nike stuff if they paid me. Okay. But that's not what I meant. See how the split is. Is there? It's gonna be just like politics the split. They go to this just like your marketplace for your radio station, you guys split it. And you divide it and your divvy it up and okay? That's yeah. We are a money making a radio station. But that's not the issue here that you're I think what you're telling me as you hate Nike is that it or is it is it specifically the capper Nick ad that you're referring to. I don't hate Nike. I got some Nike stuff. I'm not gonna burn it. Okay. So I'm confused about what you're saying. Here. You don't like the ad campaign. I think it's a waste of money. And I know I said a waste of money if it's imp- increase their sales thirty one percent. Right now. But it's Nike, and I do have issues with Nike the so they're not, you know, the big supporters of human rights, and like Dave's 'Iran said rebellions, they're not that they're the opposite of that in places where their goods are manufactured. So I am torn. I want to support Nike because Nike supporting cap, I think what cap has done with the contract as our earlier caller mentioned. I think that cap is putting forth. But he wasn't gonna comment on it. Because Nike pays him a lot of money. They're attendant of his. There's some real principles eight eighty eight ten I'm Pat Thurston for Ethan Bearman. I GO. On K G O eight ten and streaming online at K G, O radio dot com. A lot of twenty eight K G O we need to update that effort to clear the crash.
