"Good Sam Hinkie be the next Knicks president and that would be absolutely hysterical I would love to see that happen well I can tell you one day it's it's still too soon I can tell you some wild stories about Henkes time in Philadelphia you know behind the scenes stuff that it's just you some of it you're like that can't be real yeah one that one day it'll come the like whether it's five ten years from now or somebody just really gets me bent out of shape on the guy that's it'll say well that was a a very interesting period in the seventy Sixers history that nobody will ever forget eight eight seven two nine ninety four ninety four pound nine four nine for your eighteen T. Verizon wireless cell phone is how you get involved now we've been using tonight show as a kind of a a very as poorly constructed group therapy session for seventy Sixers fans and although we've talked a little bit about the Superbowl and kind of hinted at the Phillies were still a week away from Philly spring training and we're just we're trying get amped up in I know a couple of players are gonna talk before they depart for clear water we'll talk at citizens bank park in we'll hear a little bit about certain things but it's hard to get really amped up just yet such a long baseball season all right now you know we're in the thick of the Sixers year like this is the only chance we have a title right now sure the flyers may construct something but they're not ready just yet this six fifteen was built to win right now and look where they find themselves and we've been using tonight as your vessel to vent to let the emotions and rage and the venom inside you come out and if you want to point fingers at certain individuals were let me do it and we show it and because it's kind of a group therapy session we want to have maybe clarity at the end we've been looking at the reality of certain situations and then maybe in the end trying to find a solution to something and you know I danced around certain things in there that about a handful of players and or the coach but there's certain things that you know what like this this roster I I I'm blown away at the lack of heart that this team has when they're away from home it's incredible the social activities all you better believe they're there for all that but they play like a bunch of individuals and not as a team when they're on the road and none of them are willing to you know sacrifice for the better of the team and in turn the success of that team there are some serious character flaws professionally in that locker room what what what the hell happened you well and beat four years I personally anybody who would ask of say this guy has got it this guy is the solution he will be the one to take the seventy Sixers to win the Larry o'brien trophy he's he's motivated he has the talent he's going to get paid he gets it he's going to take them there and we're sitting here now and everybody wants to trade him and you know something I don't blame anybody for saying it what has transpired with him this season you go from someone toggle little me use these three road games right she go through these three road games you go through the game in Atlanta where Brett decides it's fine you want to run the offense through Ben okay go for it your last got twelve freaking wins who cares but he made a tactical error because if you don't include him beat he's gonna start to check out and three three quarters and they trailed midway through the first quarter run he didn't run the ball through and beat soon be checked out beau how friendly and defensively and then once the fourth quarter handed in the deficit was widening bright Astor well to do everything it was a huge mistake on bread I'm gonna get to bring the men what you well can use any of that as a cry well they were using me Sir really wasn't not you can use any of that you go to Boston how worthless was he in that game one of eleven even worse than the one of eleven six rebounds six six rebounds biamby how is that even possible by accident you should get ten if you're him no commitment what so ever and then you go to Miami Miami first people don't look at it beads in it is the fence is kind of okay but offensively he's completely in this game then Brett then did you go to have time exposure says we've been using over his own goals now and occasionally if we can double team right away so what happens in the second half works out beautifully for Miami all the sudden the beads getting flustered getting frustrated has five total attempts in the second half and any gets worse as the deficit widens all the sudden you see him check out on defense he's not gonna for rebounds he's not going up for a block he's not chasing anybody down now how is that it's completely inexcusable for him to do that on top of that for the head coach who we're seeing it and we're not doing you we see for miles away but chose only the cable to go how can you as the head coach not take him out of there and sit him on the bench nothing was done I don't know what happened you well but he has become a whiny child you can see him when he's not being involved in the offense you see him call in for the ball and they don't give it to him you see him shrug his shoulders and honcho over what are you not to use the I'm out he's become a selfish selfish player and quit switches though is even worse al Horford there are times I I you would think it's his first game in the NBA how you gonna do some here need somebody give you instructions he's one of only a dozen years you'd never know it he looks lost out there was like a lost dog he has no idea where to be and that's the fall of two people al for not communicating with his teammates and spending more time in that film room and it's a for the coaching staff we say now he's a veteran and figure it out we're fifty one games it we're beyond that now Tobias Harris well what can we say about Tobias Harris at this point we haven't said a thousand times over pay for something he isn't but when you sign on the dotted line all the expectations change so it when he doesn't have a shots he stinks out there he's not very good a defense to begin with the only force three turnovers against the Miami Heat how is that even possible three turnovers I actually should have seven eight nine that's that's speaks everything about their defense of commitment and if your built over the whole bull and bully ball you know whatever if you're built on defense we knew they would struggle times on office because of how they were constructed we set out but they're gonna be a dynamite defensive team if you're not playing defense the what are you doing out there.

"Shape things your way in a way you can't with more veteran loaded teams I think they're. Going to continue to pursue not Daryl Morey anymore obviously 'cause he's staying with James harden the rainy MVP but candidates of that ilk say as I say tweet out. You know would have been nice, if there is a you know a Maury disciple that they. Had a relationship with the you know could've could've been in the organization that would have been nice to have They had one at one point yes Turns out. Yeah Sam hinkie of course referring to. Him real quick before we go Kyle, the whole thing what? Exactly happened there the Sixers had to. Deal with them then he said he wanted to. Stay in Europe now he signed, with the kings the have any more. On. That force, yeah I mean I think that seems like that's on deletes Azan where maybe he wanted more money. Or, long-term security, I, I mean I I think whether this is a player or, team doing this I would say this is a bad Gluck to come, to an agreement especially knowing the NBA offseason because of the way. The cap works a lot of what teams have to do is based on order of operations because they have to is in a certain exceptions under and, over the cap so on. And so forth and so that's why you didn't see MIR Johnson re-sign officially until earlier this week because they've been trying to line everything up so that they could get all the guys they wanted in here and in the interim as they. Assume That the elites have, would be joining them he must have. Had. A change, of heart onto the amount of years the Sixers are offering which was just one they don't wanna. Put, long-term money, on, their books which is totally understandable and so he broke the, agreement I suppose in looked like he was going to go to Europe, but Sacramento Kings always have holbert on their pocket of money they. Want to offer different people so I'm sure he saw that and figuring hey why not if I can get some more money and already broke my agreement, with anyway I'll take my. Talents elsewhere it is funny how the kings in Sixers always seemed to cross pads one way or another it's it's amazing it seems to happen every off season you would hope that there's a better team that they cry out yes I suppose what as long as they're mostly. On the winning end of those path crossings they'll be all right yeah. I agree thanks for, jumping on man you. Can file follow him at Kyle Neubeck Sixers insider, for the Philly voice. Dot com thanks for jumping all, thanks appreciate a man so some insight from Kyle on the on. The co ideal and the fact that you know this this. Spurs just weren't that interested in. With the Sixers had to offer you know, the, the reporting? Today coming out of the Spurs one guys can help now and that is, pre evident based off them. Getting damore derozen back and not much else you know and if they wanted Ben Simmons or. Joel Embiid and. That was all they were interested in. Sixers were right to move on you're not gonna you're not gonna? Trade One of your stars for Kawhi Leonard is. Kyle said the. "At the tough ones epic really hard to see right now i mean this is this the huge blow for him he was out of the league after losing his job in toronto and this job kind of came out of the blue obviously the sixers brought jerry colangelo in is an advisor he wanted to bring in brian to work with sam hinkie sam hinkie didn't want to share that job sam hinkie left why glands low inherited but after something like this you know i hope it's not a death blow for him you know this is a league and frankly a country of of second chances and so you'd like to think that down the road somewhere someone who would bring him in maybe just in an advisory capacity you start to get to get him back in maybe not in the front facing role but i mean this is this is this is going to be a tough one to come back for and there's just no way sugar it marks nine new york me a ride with jeff dickerson and freddie coleman and espn radio he wasn't lying as it turned out he said that he had one burner account but the other burner accounts he had no idea about but still he he said that sensitive information with his wife that being said how much of his name name colangelo his dad's name jerry colangelo may have him get a second chance maybe sooner than later mark well that's certainly true mean his father is one of the most powerful executive we've ever seen in this league and you know the route back in most likely is you know you go you don't just bounce back from this and take over a team again i mean you know it is certainly bryan colangelo has been around the block he's he's run three teams in his own rights phoenix toronto philadelphia so he's someone who has seen a lot knows a lot would have something to offer four burner accounts though you'd like to think that would help mitt it's a sad story really it's hard to one switching gears to start switching gears to the finals dea think the cavaliers have enough fight in them to at least steal one game in the.

"The same accounts also took shots at messiah jerry and sam hinkie ole and questioned joel embiid's ego oh that's not good that's not good at all now that'd be so crazy so insane and so weird that it's almost too weird to be true one seven five six oh hashtag burner account let me holy crap joel is the greatest a joke tweet about sam hinkie directed at a colangelo burner account of setup before i'll say it again right now joel embiid he's got the potential to be one of the greatest ever in nba history but he's already the greatest ever in social media history scott's fearless he's got amazing sense of humor and he's got the best timing ever he then chase that with a tweet to drake which read quote i'm upset at this point the story was a virus and it was spreading quickly cj mccollum came sprinting in two tweeted joe quote are you saying you're no longer happening happy in philly too which jo responded and i quote l a o c cj you just gotta trust it nba twitter's the best absolutely the best there's nothing like it but then joke included his with this and i quote fun night on twitter l a o all jokes aside i don't believe the story that would just be insane you know it would be if he completely insane embiid also told roach quote i talked to him he said that he didn't say that he called me just to deny the story got to believe him until proven otherwise if true though that would be really bad end quote what if you're president of baseball ops had five burner accounts and was anonymously killing the players would that be bad.

"A mountain of circumstantial evidence right now not proven that he had five burner accounts on twitter to defend himself and criticize players on his team take shots at former players and then he would even say something to the sixers media about these are stories that you should be following now you would think a twotime executive of the year is father storied career as the owner of the chicago bulls but then you have a situation like this saying it's not possible right like we get this lo this petty take a shot at the former gm sam hinkie trust the process guy maybe lead some media people to some medical reports from a player they were trying to trade take a shot at joel embiid dancing and a meek mill concert some of the things that he was saying talking about some of his players took some shots at marquel folds his former shooting guru nerlens noel didn't fare well in this but there were a lot of things that were brought up here circumstantial evidence and we have reached out to the seventy sixers by the way but just looking at some of the things that were said why they would be said in the first place not quite sure from somebody this decorated and by the way has had a great career as a gm he's made some incredible moves in toronto phoenix and in philadelphia his track record is pretty good now maybe he's not getting the credit that he thinks he deserves maybe sam hinkie who gave us trust the process even takes a shot at sam hanky saying how's that teaching gig working out at stanford ouch he talks about joel embiid calling him a big selfish baby he talked about now these accounts talk about nerlens noel a selfish punk a vulture discloses jalil okafor's injury medical information which is illegal diminishes the job performance of sam hinkie as well in the job that he had in philadelphia so we had these accounts now he did admit i believe yesterday that he had one counts is is his so one of these burner accounts is actually his that feels like a big mistake there i think if you're going to go all in if you have one it feels like you might have had two or three or four or five yeah i had one.

"A meeting between sam hinkie and john elway the disdain that would be felt between those human beings towards each other and everything that the other one stands for the process meets there is no plan b the ultimate losing to win mentality versus the were never rebuilding mentality always winning to win versus always losing to win it'd be an interesting sight to see the two of them sit down and exchange philosophies on team building but more than that it does bring to mind an interesting question could the process quote unquote ever work in the nfl because it works in baseball it works in basketball i haven't seen it a now if i think in the nhl to and i'm not saying like the nhl is is altruism and they just it's against their better sensibilities i just don't think we've seen a team fully buy in to taking in for a couple years in order to get a lot of good young players in help build i just think like teams like the oilers just stunk for so long i don't think they tried to lose but haven't you you don't see it in the nfl i think that there's there's a a i have a psychological reason to that right you only get sixteen gains there's immense pressure for those sixteen games the popularity of the nfl in.

Freakonomics for parenting: Selfish reasons to have more kids

"Charlie munger nerd i'd like him a lot i'm not afraid to say it i like him in part because he's pithy and he's pithy in ways i'm not because i'm too long winded he'll say you want to be a good partner deserve your partner try do it i don't meet them halfway meet them more than halfway and be deserving of someone good and it will probably happen i think that's reasonable you know sort of golden rule spun another way but it's like reasonable advice of the idea you had of picking your kids traits in your spouse i did mention that i was really influenced by this book that i recommend people sometimes called selfish reasons to have more kids so the joke the joke in our house is i wanted to kids them my wife wanted three and we come from four which is about right but one of the pieces of this book is book is kind of freakonomics for parenting freakonomics for kids is one way you can think about it and this guy did a bunch of twins looked at a bunch of twin studies all all you could get his hands on almost eight hundred twin studies and tried to find what was prove ably differentiated about parenting by finding twins that were raised by different families and so of course this is kind of call it the middle eighty percent of the distribution nothing crazy on either end some abusive silly awful situation in what he found is two things so you might get these right one of the provable things over time that you could find is the religion your children chose when they were adults the box they checked some level that makes sense you don't grow up jewish in one day become muslim very often and so not make sense and then secondly is when i mentioned childhood you what's the soundtrack in your head is it metal or alibis and so the environment your parents created and your house might influence that a lot of like what's your own highlight reel of your childhood and how you think about that and they're like everything else is a mixture of your parents your parents and so in that sense one of the conclusions out of that is if you won't particular tenure children choose them in your spouse and i definitely think that in our house so we have our oldest son is great and when he was a.

"Yeah you know what it's as long as we're here let's let's go let's go down this path because i wanted to get to this anyway the league made a big show of course about finding the bulls over robin lopez hitting him with the big the big warning they find mark cuban for actually saying out loud what people know to be to be the case that sometimes you're better off losing and throwing away a season to get a better pick the league of course made a big deal out of changing the lottery odds which does not take effect until twenty nineteen so there is still incentive to be the worst team in the league this year because you still have that twenty five percent chance of winning the lottery all that said rick don't feel like a thing has changed in fact i think it's worse than ever and i'm gonna say i'll say this the reason the league changed the lottery of course is primarily because not in totally because but primarily because they were embarrassed by an offended by sam hinkie's project right with the seventy sixers the sixers now of course are one of the darlings of the nba there the feelgood story that everybody loves with ben simmons and joel embiid whether the process worked or not is the debate for another time but look they're they're they're in great shape but they look like they could be one of the best teams in the east for years to come but the reason that they freaked out over taking a needed lottery reform was because of them and i'll say this at least what the sixers were doing was fairly clear upfront and we knew two things one there was a longterm planet involve not having enough talent to really win but that the team that was on the court was busting it's ass every night and brett brown was coaching to win the players were playing to win this weren't good enough that is fundamentally different than what i'm actually more offended by which is what's going on right now which.
