"Because I know for Chicago time and it was, you know, I'm here, obviously. I've got a facility. I was championing. This sort of event as a way to, hey, I built a big stadium court. We're ready for the event to host it. Robert got a relationship with hotel. So it was sort of like, you know, my idea and my sort of sleepless night kind of headache heartache, the champion the calls. You've got John there, obviously can go to a lot of cities. How did it end up in Dallas? Was it John going to the ATP? I know it was me and Steve Simon having a lot of conversations. But you know, before the event came to Chicago, it was about three years into making with Steve. Hey, we love an event. We're in the calendar. That kind of thing. And him being like, yeah, let's do it. Let's take our time. Let's see how we can make sure it's successful. So it stays. How did your event come about? We're in New York for three years. And we're getting better and better every year. Things are looking great. So we had a giant stadium. We had 3500 people in our last final in 2020 and two weeks after our event in the world just totally changed with COVID. But on that Sunday, the final somebody said, there's this thing COVID happening. And the whole world changed. But it didn't, we didn't have that intimate feeling. And then when COVID came, the building changed and so the opportunity for us to say, okay, let's go to what we really believe in an intimate atmosphere, a place that's going to be successful. So I actually was going around the country looking for thought. Trying to find one that fit all of those aspirations we had as a company. And I had three great opportunities, three different places. And then I sort of got to thinking in our eyes, I'm about to go and present to our board. She has sports in the same board like here's my recommendation and what we should do. I got an inkling in my head and said, hang on. Let me go back on this other lead I had. So I called up Johnson's agent, Sam Duvall, and he said he and I chatted and then we got John on the phone and John chatted, and then we got grant chin, who is the head tennis coach here at SMU. And two days later, December 17th has grant reminds me of the date. I flew down to Dallas and I met with those with those guys..

"Com. The promo code is cr fifteen with all of that said talk about the tennis. We've seen unfold this week. Let's start in the land. I love a good hashtag. They have a good hashtag. They've embraced tennis in the landed. If you haven't been watching it's a beautiful stadium. Court unique is a word that's over. Something can't be very unique. I had a professor in college. Who ranted and raved about this fact because unique means one of a kind. You don't need degrees to one of a kind of something as one of a kind is one of a kind. The cleveland stadium court is unique the way the ceiling sort of bubbles over the top of the facility. And just again it. It's at one. They just constructed this year to brand new event. A have to give shout outs. Of course to our friends kyle. Ross sam duvall over at notch management. Because it's been you know well run from top to bottom. We saw myles garrett in the crowd there today and you know. I've seen them all over tennis. Twitter all over social media their social team absolutely killing at shout out to what has been extremely well run event shoutout to the tennis. We've seen there as well and you listeners. Will know if you've listened to this podcast throughout the course not only of this this season but of course late last season as well on on the net controversy bandwagon. I just think she's such an interesting inflection. Point player in the wgn rankings. And i went through all the numbers yesterday. You look for a net controversy here in twenty twenty one. I mean unequivocally step forward. She's twenty three and thirteen. She's one sixty four percent of her matches. You look for controversy here this season. She made a final in eastbourne. Still looking for that. I believe second t. title. She won her first in her second attempt. Back in twenty seventeen but of course she's a completely new player now and you look at the record. Four contact with so fascinating about that twenty three and thirteen. I know i went through this yesterday. Too and four against the top ten three and eight against the top twenty seven and twelve against the top fifty. she's fifteen in one against players ranked outside the top fifty very much litmus test player the gateway into what is such a crowded top forty top thirty of the w. t. rankings. Of course you look for an economy. She's number thirty right now. With this result here she moved up. I want to say to number twenty nine in the live rankings. That tells you how stacked it up top. She wants a title. She's only gonna move up to number twenty eight jumping danielle collins who has lost like two matches in her past four tournaments and has been absolutely ridiculous again tells you how stacked it is right now within the top thirty of the rankings. If you can't beat that contact you don't have a shot because again and that continent if you.

"Last couple of years. The use of drones. I think going forward. I think this is really going to aid in the help of finding people live and at least at a minimum recovering remains families can get closure we. We really haven't seen the use of drones in our cases up until just very recently. I believe joe yet is new. Remember when we worked together at spalding. We talked about wanting to start a company with drones for this express. Purpose should have done that. Probably another opportunity so moving onto the next day is now october fourteenth twenty twenty. The weather had cleared up by that afternoon and they were able to get a helicopter in the air with twelve. Nps rangers five fifteen mountain rescue volunteers and now they have three search dogs provided by the washington mountain rescue on the ground. So they weren't able to. You know the dogs out there until several days after he went missing which That's that's unfortunate. You know every that goes by is going to dissipate and especially if you've got a lot of snow and weather in the area it's gonna make it harder for those dogs to find assent but sure you have the whole issue of. I wonder how much comes into play of evidence or things. Being moved by the snow melt when we talk about george land. I know he said that happens in flash flooding in the desert. But i wonder if that's the case to if you have a lot of rushing water down a mountain if maybe he was on a trail and i don't want to speak grim but i'm saying maybe his body was on a trail and if snow melt or something push it or covered it somewhere that was That would be not a well search area and it's covered in snow now. I don't know yeah. I think that's a a highly possible when with this much weather in the area so moving onto the next day now. It's october fifteenth. The nps reports a bell seven helicopter was used to fly searchers into the field to maximize search time during a window of good weather and then continue to explore from the air. So they're they're like frantically rushing to the area because the weather has been so bad that they're actually which we don't see this a lot. They're actually flying searchers in by helicopter to certain parts of the area. Kind of like airlifting them in so that. That's that's pretty amazing to see They go on to state that eighteen. Nps rangers rejoined by fourteen mountain rescue volunteers including a dog team to drone teams and a four by four teams searching private forest lands outside the park boundary a ten person team of pierce county explorer. Search and rescue found. Here's assisted well. So the team is growing the assets. They have available to them are growing. They have helicopters dogs drones. Four by fours and now they're even searching private land outside of the park you know. Maybe he got lost started wandering I don't think that's too likely with the weather conditions at the time. But you know it's good to see them searching farther out so october sixteenth. Now the nps stated this is a direct quote from them. Today's weather has deteriorated with lowering clouds and winds up to fifty miles per hour. That prevented era operations. Teams also experienced low visibility and driving rain so again weather is hampering the search but they were able to get ten. Nps rangers out there along with nine more mountain rescue volunteers and two teams from the washington. German shepherd search dogs so they keep adding to the team and kind of the ground force out there. They go on to say that members of the washington state search and rescue planning unit have provided assistance throughout the week as well. Nps trail crews meanwhile worked throughout the day to restore trowbridge over the lower carbon river which washed out heavy rain early in the week. In order to allow searchers easier access to the search zones and nps official went on to say and this a direct quote searchers intend to take full advantage tomorrow of a final day of good weather before another storm forecast for sunday with large numbers of people on the ground and hopefully in air as well. So you know we are what it's october sixteenth. He was reported missing on the twelfth. You know we're a full week out now from the daddy was missing and it's a massive operation going on. They've got a lot of people on the ground you know. Lot of assets in the air including drones and the weather throughout this whole case has been hampering the search. I just wonder if the weather had been better. If they would have found him or found his remains But you will never know so Moving onto october twenty third. Now of twenty twenty. The search was suspended after an eleven day. Operation inside mount rainier The national park service Released a statement said significant weather a winter weather made it necessary to suspend ground searches for time being but it would continue to pursue any leads that come and they actually while it was spended. They were able to re initiate the search on october twenty fifth and we have another. Nps statement that reads with an improved weather window. Search teams in mount rainier. National park resumed ground bates ground-based search operations early sunday for missing hiker. Dr sam duvall so october twenty fifth. Joe they're still. They're still out searching. Obviously at this time. I imagine the search turned from finding him alive to a recovery. Yeah i would have ratios based on the giri brought out. I mean i would say. There's a possibility he could still be live just due to the fact that he's got water but with the cold conditions. I mean it'd be it'd be close one. Yeah and especially if his his clothing got wet. The one of the things when we when we called off our hike on mount rainier was because every we had we had all the reindeer. We didn't have snow gear with us because we were hiking earlier in the year but It was like it was sideways. Rain on the mountain. And everything got soaked. I had one set of one set of clothing left in a dry sack. And i didn't wanna bring you bring out. Because soon as i took anything out of there it was soaked. My tat was soaked. My sleeping bag was soaked. Everything was so except for that stuff in the dry bag. So you wanna have dry things if you're wet and cold yeah. We couldn't even get a fire going so in those kinds of conditions. I don't see how you could survive more than a day or two Up there so but moving on to the next day so now it is october. Twenty sixth twenty twenty. This is about two weeks after the search started national park service actually declared do ball dead. Now they have. They didn't recover his body. They didn't they don't have any evidence of really what happened to him. The reason why they declare in usually people are declared dead. After a longer time has elapsed but usually the searchers the officials in the park will kind of look at the situation and like. There's no possible way. He could have survived for two weeks out here with the storms and You know this potentially was done by officials in the state level because he was a state employee and this would allow his family to collect life insurance and pension money so.
