"I'm just so excited to be head flipping thursday night football and i finally had a single read this century this season but sure. Oh in ninety nine. I feel like thorough that using rockets going. Oh in whatever in what would you say the night not with indus like they're short show through jahnke throw me out yes. A lot of things happen including wnba playoffs. Oh yeah somebody was eliminated. Yes the new york. Liberty was eliminated by the phoenix. Mercury up still very very confused. How conferences are set up but that territory. That's what Live again do feel like we need to study. More of you know how things are situated in the wnba seasons too short. The money's too low the advertisements to non advertisement. The and i just feel like they just need a spark. And i don't don't do that. Don't do that don't do that. I know i read. It was a good read i read. I must be on fire now with the reads. Because i read that all the way i saw your offense trickling in your brain and i was like hey vans which is exactly what we saw last night thursday night. Football yes doc was absolutely correct. The over at minus. Yeah it didn't. It didn't seem like it was going to be no for both of the game. Like english are felt back. A panthers were gonna blow it up to the i mean first half it was rough. Shout out to my man the newly in on general mills right two minute drill mill as to. That's why i'm calling him. General and not to be confused with The insurance general or general meal cereal by gerna serial general mill lead a great two. Minute drive It almost looked. And i mean i hate to say is i. Don't want to misconstrue and say here. But it looked berry veteran esque. It looked almost the same thing when i seen from tom brady. That was actually the fame. Exact play the bucks ran last week is i. I saw that play. And i think the falcons got caught a pass interference but yeah that was almost the exact same play that the bucks ram but he threw it in the back of the end zone touchdown but i will say i felt like him and sam donald. The number one pick of the nfl draft last year was getting hammered. Left and right couple down. Yeah couple of strip sack. Fumbles a couple of really really. I mean if they were taking speaking a rough though. The panthers losing. Cmc christian mccaffrey. First half A lot of people were questioning. Whether sam donna will be able to win without him all..

"A rematch of a playoff game from a year ago. There's a lot of excitement. I know from Browns fans who believe that that is a Super Bowl team this year Super Bowl contending team this season. Meanwhile, on the chief side of things, the Chiefs are Basically a juggernaut at this point in time. And You know, anytime you get to see Patrick Mahomes play, I I think Yeah, revel in that opportunity. Then the other one is the Packers and the Saints. The Packers are very interesting storyline this year clearly because of Aaron Rodgers and and the drama with him. This off season. You know, the the drama that all took place. Um, with his situation, whether he was going to be back, and now he is and there are Super Bowl contender and then the Saints. I actually think the Saints are going to be better. Without true Brees quarterback not because I think Drew Brees was overrated or anything just because towards the end Drew Brees didn't have arm strength and he was beat up. And Jamis Winston. I think under Sean Payton, you'll get the best version of him, and it gives them a down the field attack that they didn't have so Clearly to me. Those are the marquee games of the opening week. But when you're looking at the storyline for the season, I don't think there's any better storyline going in. And the rookie QB s I want to see how all those guys do. And some of them are going to get to start early. So you know you're really excited. You're a Jets fan. You've got to be super pumped. You're playing the Panthers game Nobody cares about But you got Zach Wilson going out there under center. And You know, I know. You know you can't take everybody's any announcers. Word for it. But Tony Romo is on the Zach Wilson bandwagon. And I would feel pretty good about that. He's got a lot of natural talent. Does Wilson So if you're a Jets fan, I think you're pretty pumped. Probably more excited about this. Game than you've been about a Jets game and A lot since Sam Donald's first game, maybe But I I think Zach Wilson has much more potential in San Donald. I never saw. It was Sam Donald. To be honest with you. Um, just never struck me as overwhelmingly talented. Nothing jumped off the page. Of course, he'll be on the other side, uh, against the Jets this weekend. So there is that aspect of things, which adds to the storyline dynamic, But I think Zach Wilson has the potential to be much, much, much more dynamic a player. That Sam Donna was. He could just do things with his arm and his mobility that that Donald I don't think it's it's capable of. Then you've got Matt Jones. In his debut with the Patriots. We played you, the Cam Newton sound earlier camp. Sounds kind of almost a bit are delusional. About the situation to me. But Matt Jones look very good in the preseason. He looked like he could run that Patriots offense. So obviously, Patriots fans are gonna be excited. And then I think it's almost a little bitter, sweet. For fans of the Bears and the 49 ers. Because I think both of those teams if you ask their fan base if you just Straw poll their fan base. They'd be what their rookie QB s out there week. One as well. I'm forgetting about Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguar. Sorry. Uh, I just generally forget about the Jaguars Jaguars. Texans is a forgettable game. You have to forgive me. If you're just looking at amongst the most forgettable games in NBA history, NFL history Jaguars, Texas has to be up there. I mean urban Meyer's head coaching debut, Uh, Trevor Lawrence, his NFL debut. That makes it I guess more intriguing than Some typical Jaguars Texas game, but I'll be okay. If I don't see that one. I'll be okay. If I I don't see Jaguars Texans. But bears fans went Justin fields out there. And instead they're going to get Andy Dalton. And 40. Niners fans. What Trey Lance out there instead, they're going to get Jimmy Garoppolo now. The 40 Niners are probably in a little bit of a different position because of the town of that roster. However, I want to see Trey Lance, but I want to see Trey Lance play. I'm more intrigued by him than any of them. I think I think he has the highest upside. He and Wilson I would say at the highest upside Of the rookie QBs. Now That doesn't mean it will always be realized, And there's a lot, uh, work. I think for Lance to do. He's not as polished as, say, A Mac Jones. Obviously who I think is ready back. Jones may be the most ready of the quarterbacks. But to me, that's the the NFL storyline. Most intrigued by this season is the rookie QB s. What are you most looking forward to this NFL season? Why is this the year for your team 855 to 1 to 4 to 27855212. 4227 Let's go to Shane in Pennsylvania. Shane you're up on the Robert Liberec Show here on CBS Sports Radio. What's going on? Hey, I just wanted to talk about like a lot of the Cowboys fans and even people like you that want to downplay Uh, you know how important this game was against Tampa and what I feel like they actually accomplished when nobody was given a chance going in. But well, they didn't win. They didn't They didn't win, though. They didn't win, but you don't have to like you can pick apart every game. How about Tampa Bay last season when they got demolished by Green Bay? You know, they still came back and won the Super Bowl. I mean, I got demolished. They didn't just lose by two point Sure, but that was that was one of a larger sample at that point, and and I'm sure people were writing them off at that point to I'm not saying the Cowboys camp can't bounce back, but we literally have one game to react to. That's the only thing I could possibly I'm usually like the guy going into the season. More optimistic than not, because last year we signed a bunch of defensive tackles. I thought we're going to make a big difference. They turned out to be a Boston. Um, this season I went in with I'm like we're doomed where we are, if we are about the rookies on defense banquets, putting in a new system This doesn't look good. We're playing Tampa Bay coming off the Super Bowl for the first game. This is going to be horrible. I was set up to feel bad and coming away from it. Yeah, I would like to have one. I hated some of the things that happened in the game. The O P I at the end, I thought would be s a bunch of holding calls that weren't called during the game on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Meanwhile, we got two crucial holding calls called against us in key situations that would have turned the game around. Um, a lot of things. So I'm one of those people who can't help but come away feeling a lot better about how that all went down other than we didn't lose the game that we lost the game. Um I don't get me wrong, Shane, I I understand. Some, like I said, measured optimism you've got you know you've got one of the Last year. You did not have one of the best quarterbacks in the league. This year. You have one of the best quarterbacks in the league, at least for the good portion of the season. The wide receiver cord looked excellent other than a couple drops from lamp. Got to feel good about that. No question. But what I what I'm saying is, is this number one? You never know. How would you know? An opportunity to loss can cost you because they are the only team in the division now with a loss, And when you should have won a game, every game every game, you lose their opportunities lost. That's like that's a week statement. I feel like just to say they want there's opportunities they lost. Well, how many you're sitting here moaning like Miss Holding calls. You know, the Cowboys missed field goals. The Cowboys. What did they? I bet you they outgained them. I think they they won the penalty battle, and I think they want to turn it over battle and they still lost. That's not Great. The defense is a work in progress. We'll see how it turns out, and then I think you're running back is is finished. So those are totally disagree with that, because you're basing it off of him playing behind. Third string offensive lineman last year with four different quarterbacks. He Yeah, anything basically now I'm basically no watching me. I'm basing it on watching his explosiveness and the way he looks running the ball, And I just don't think he does not honest, the minimal amount of Kerry's he had last night. As what you're basing that on or not, and last season, Yes. Look, I'm that I could be proven wrong..

"Let's finish it up on the phones 855 to 1 to four CBS 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. Frank is calling from New Jersey. What's up, Frank? Good. You're filling spots, and Jerry and Maggie and Chris Morris. So I remember. Listen to you before the draft. You hated tiled fits right now before Atlanta got rid of Julio Jones. But now after seeing a little bits and pieces here and there, and I'm not really sure they did in the off season, how do you feel about Atlanta with Kyle Pits and Al Calvin Ridley only without Julio? Do they do anything into the interior? The team offensive line like, uh, where do you stand on your feelings on the Falcon? Off season. Um, unsure while their off season don't think it was good enough, and I don't think it was good at all. They were up against that, Frank. Because of the salary cap restrictions. They were in salary cap hell. Which is part of the reason why they had to make a change and see a font. No can adjust and eventually get them out of that. And thank you for the call. But you talk about Kyle pitch. Yeah, he look, He may be an exciting player and everybody's saying always going to be the greatest, you know, Tight end ever. Oh, what a rookie. They're gonna have such a great impact. You still Do not take a tight end number four. Especially when you have as many issues as the Falcons do. That's my problem with it, and you talk about the interior. They're not good on the offensive line that's been their issue. Defensively. They have some talent and they have some speed and they should have been better than what they were under Dan Quinn, and I'm hoping that Arthur Smith nobody's doing and the fact that they have a competent head coach. Should win them more football games. Maybe be a little more balance on offense, but without an offensive line, they're in trouble. They have the quarterback Mike Davis is all right. As far as running back goes, they have a number one receiver with Calvin Ridley. And they have some depth that wide receiver and pits should be a difference maker. But they have way too many issues I'd rather than have drafted either cornerback. Or lineman and offensive lineman. And they couldn't do anything this offseason because they had no money. If you get yourself To appoint as an organization. Where you have to dump The greatest wide receiver in the history of franchise. It's a problem. And it's not like they're totally rebuilding because it's Matt Ryan there. So what are they doing? They're halfway in it. New head coach. Same old quarterback dump. Will Jones. I mean, you want to say that, Okay. They drafted carpets to replace that type of production. I'm not buying that. I would rather build inside out, and that's something that the Atlanta Falcons got away from, and that's why I'm kind of down on them this year. But truth be told. I really don't know what to expect. They had more talent the last couple years. Then their records showed they were better and even just go back Western. Forget the last couple years. They were better and should have been better than what they showed out to be. I'm hoping that with a real head coach He makes a positive difference has a positive impact on Steve is calling from New Jersey. Steve, How are you this morning? Okay? And as he faces the final curtain, Saleh Kata did it way there were many ways you could have gone. Yeah. There were many ways you could have gone with that finale. You know, the final countdown. Um, is the end of the end of the road. Learn in a No. Uh, yeah, right, Right. Oh, my God. We went right into a very nice nice Segway brother. Hey, listen, listen my apology and unlike two of your buddies, Linder and buyers my apology for being in my area sincere, So I do apologize. I hope Mrs Elda, baby and Maddox role to her Well, When you holding up been awhile. Good on all good on the home front, right? We haven't heard from you, Steve. Good to hear from you, though. Yeah, I'll be back up back in the saddle again on the overnights locally, so I'll be a little more dialed in cell. So I just want to touch up. Um I was at let me P s. I know we're running low on time. Have you ever heard of a town called East Quad out note like out by the Hamptons? Yes, I've definitely heard of quads. So I'm assuming I've heard of East Quad. Okay? Yeah. I was out in your neck of the woods for a while. I just got back today. Um 9 11. I want to send all my condolences and thoughts and prayers out to all the You know, not just the people we lost, but also the survivors today we're dealing with. No, it's various cancers and diseases. Morley Asbestos and And all the cleanup crew and first responders and our military. Um, yeah, not just today. Always not just closed today is the 20th anniversary. But I remember where I was. And I remember you had likened it to JFK. I was a little You know, uh but, yeah, I remember my dad waking me up in a panic. Kind of like your sister woke you up. Just some will never, it will never forget ever ever forget so Um That's about all I have. I wanted to touch base on the Jets. I'm afraid Arnold's gonna throw 14. He passes the robbing Anderson. And I'm just afraid, you know? Yeah, like I important to Zach Wilson Fan Club. The kid's got some natural interest. Little things when he rolls out is play fakes is, uh, you know, kids definitely played quarterback for a while. So, um, I think it's kind of refreshing that I don't have to worry about the Mets making the playoffs that's making the playoffs. I don't know if that's disturbing on one hand, which it is now you got to enjoy the Jets. You got to enjoy the Jets season. Steve, Come on, get into a stable, The negativity embrace that. They might actually be good at some point Soon. You got the right head coach. You got the right GM and hopefully you get the right quarterback. I am honor of this some excitement. I just not for this season. I think you know it. Six wins. I'm I'm happy to share. No, I'm I'm ecstatic. Sell. Don't get me wrong. I can't wait for football. But you know any realistic jets and goes as skinny James's producer, Uh, producer James? He's I know he hates the Jets. He thinks he loves him. But he really thinks suggested that his thing? Yeah, as always. We appreciate hearing from you. Thank you for the call. You get back to us. I don't want to hear, though the Jeff van talking about how Sam Donald's going to embarrass them. You saw Sam Donna, you should know better. He stinks. With all due respect, and personally, I think Sam's nice kid, he's just almost that's a fault. He's too nice. Maybe dies,.

"That he had, and they took that away just a little bit towards the end of the season. He's Jason fits. I'm Freddie Coleman on Friday, and Fitz Simmons on ESPN Radio, ESPN app. And since excellent channel 80 giving you big questions involving these four games in the NFL, we move on the Giants versus the Broncos. Jason was the biggest question about that game. Can the Giants abomination of an offensive line? Hold up? I mean, just this is a Broncos team that is getting a little bit of love. That's going to get a lot of love for their defense after this game, But I don't think it's because the Broncos are particularly good. I think the Broncos have a lot of questions of their own. I cannot wait to see Jerry Judy play with the competent quarterback. I think that's going to be fun. But man that Giants offensive line is going to get everybody killed, and I think that the Broncos are going to feast. My biggest question is how much Daequan Barkley we're going to see because the sake one has his way as most players want to have their way. He wants to be out there for more than a little bit When you're coming up with torn a C L and you run the way that he does, where you rely so much on jump cuts and everything like that. You can't put that kind of stress in your first NFL game when you have not had any preseason action. To see if you're going to be ready to do that. So how much of that game plan is going to involve him? How involved will he be in that game plan? Because we know if he's effective. Daniel Jones feels a lot better. If he's not effective. If he's still injured enough, then that's going to be a situation that jobs may have to think about not just for this game, but for the rest of the season. Last. But not least you got the Jets versus the Panthers, the new quarterback with the Jets against the ex quarterback of the Jets, when it comes to Zach Wilson on one side for New York and Sam Donna on the other side for the Carolina Panthers. Jason was the biggest question about this game. How many drinks does too many drinks for a Jets fan When you watch what Sam Darnell's actually capable of doing without enough around him? I mean, I think Sam Donaldson to me he's going to be the comeback player of the year. Matt Rule is going to have that team click and Christian McCaffrey is going to have a big year if he's a lot up for Sam Donald, who I think is one of those guys that responds to being believed in and he feels like that's the case in Carolina. I know that sounds cheesy, but I think it makes a difference to his performance on the field. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Panthers go out and beat the Jets and San Donald look really good doing it. That wouldn't surprise me either. And my biggest question about that is after that game is over. How many judge fans want to jump off the roof? Because Zach Wilson is not the guy after one game? That to me is the biggest question about this When they're going to say, Oh my God, he looks so great in the preseason, announced the regular season. Why can we have drafted Trail and or Justin Field? I can't wait to hear if the Jets don't be the Carolina Panthers and I'm with you. I think the Panthers are going to win. What the New York fan base is going to sound like on Monday with things not going their way when they thought they got a better quarterback that anybody could have imagined. In preseason with Zach Wilson. He's Jason fit to them on Twitter at Jason fits and Freddie coming to me on Twitter, Com and ESPN, part of the Doctor Pepper Twitter feed. We are part of Freddie and Fitzsimmons. And speaking of that writers, Jason tell you the biggest question about that team. The people rooting for them. And this year this is ESPN radio. We're back on.

"It should be Tampa's division in the same type of do not have an easy schedule. Um, I think I think Carolina Panthers have a really good schedule, especially when you start they start off the season. You know, with some very winnable games, and then after that, it gets rough the last the last half of the season, but You got to win early to build momentum because then you actually end up winning games late that you don't have a business winning at all. You just find a way to do it. Well, I did that in New Orleans when the Super Bowl year when we end up being Washington some kind of way. I have no idea. But that's what kind of happens when you're on a Super Bowl run, and those hot teams just find a way to win. And then you say, Hey, that's the best teams do And you just never stop doubting yourself, no matter what. What situation you're in or how many points you down, and that's what the best teams do. Roman Harper here with us is there at all a concern. Now we know Taysom Hill had this certain role for the last few years, but he didn't win this job against Jamie's. Is there at all, a concern that Taysom won't fully be bought in because he didn't win the job. I think it's I think it's it's if it is. The truth is that he will be disappointed, but you know you still have a job to do. He still wants to feed his family, and he's going to get in line to do whatever that's going to take. I don't doubt taste and being a great teammate. I don't doubt taste them. Doing whatever it takes to help the team out And right now, just fortunately, it's just not being playing quarterback and well, Unfortunately, it's not playing quarterback and it's not an end end. All that says you have to be all you know, I mean, but It is what it is, and Jamie's won the job. He outplayed it when they needed to the motion. I think he's a better quarterback because he can threaten the field in all areas with his arms. He can do that. Taste them is so much more dangerous and so much harder to prepare as a defense when he's actually not just lining the back quarterback because you know exactly where he's going to be at its amazing hair. All the stories I've heard from the defensive coordinators and other defense of guys that I know throughout the league that When you're preparing for the Saints, how much extra time you have to worry about on Taysom Hill and then half the time you know he didn't do anything. He just lines up out there. But the fact that he's on the field, you have to be aware it's communication being had defenses are being drawn up to stop this guy, no matter where he is, and you have to have a game plan for it. So how many hours of wasted on place that you don't even see. That is what the stresses and the things that go into playing football that people do not really understand. So we know that Michael Thomas waited to get the surgery and that was a big point of contention with Sean Payton and Michael Thomas. We'll see how much they smoothed things over when Thomas eventually comes back. Does Michael Thomas have one ft in one ft out, Or do you think he'll be all bought in when Michael Thomas steps back on the football field? Uh, you know, when it comes to Michael Thomas and competing, he only knows one way and you should see in practice. He only knows one way so I don't worry about those things. The biggest thing is Sean understands and has a really good place of the heartbeat of that team in that locker room. And I think he did a good job of really calming the waters. When everybody on the outside was saying what it was And Sean said, Well, hold on. I still control this and we still have a good A good, You know, a really good wide receiver and there's no reason you can just, you know, walk out of here and let everybody on the outside blow up this thing when we still have not had a conversation. Let's sit down and let cool heads prevail. I think that's what they're going to end up at. And Michael Thomas. As long as he's on the field. He's going to ball in the same needing. You know, you couldn't trade and get equal value. So why would you make the trade? It doesn't make a lot of sense. Roman Harper here with us before we get to the SEC, I got to ask you about the Panthers. All eyes are on Sam. Donald, you got DJ more. You got Robby Anderson and then Christian McCaffrey. You went on Sam Donald or no. You know what, man? I got to see more. I can't just go ahead and say Yeah, I'm all in I think they're going to play great. You know, this is my first Times Act I've ever played Fantasy football. I just had a draft last night. Sam Donald. I'm playing them as one of my flex guys this week. I think he's going to put up big numbers. So For the week. One I'm all in. Let me tell you that way. I'll be the first one to say it week one. I'm all that. I like this matchup. I'm looking forward to him putting up major numbers, and I think it's great because they have a ton of weapons that are all healthy. In terrorist Marshall Jr cannot be Overstated how big of a draft pick this guy was. I really thought he was the first round wide receiver he and Elijah more boat and we'll see them both this weekend playing against each other, but I thought he is the first round rod receiver because of the size and speed combination and the way he really stepped up his senior year. That really just took him to the next level, and before he got hurt his junior year, when else you won the national championship. He was also lead them in touchdown. So he's got production. He's got the size, and now he's available just to be able to sit in the slot and play the third wide receiver. 14 that already has Robby Anderson and DJ more. We're also really to really good receivers, and now you've got a guy you really don't even know how to cover him because he's really big. He's a slot receiver he played in college. Just the versatility of offense that I'm really starting to like. And now you also have a Christian McCaffrey. That's healthy. The only question mark I have offensively for the Panthers is not so much as Sam Donna. But how do they protect Sam Donaldson? Then he doesn't get the happy feet. Because that's when he was not good in New York when he was seeing ghosts, which I cannot unsee that scene on the sidelines against the Patriots when he got caught on camera, saying, I'm seeing ghosts out there you just He has to get that out of my mind..

"XM Channel 80. Courtney Cronin. He's Myron Medcalf. We're talking NFL simulations for the 2021 season now. The number one overall pick, according according to this article, is going to the Carolina Panthers. And that would lead you to believe that everything fell apart with Sam Donald in the experiment that they tried to enact there in Charlotte by trading for him, giving him the fresh start that he is so badly needed. And a if they're getting the number one pick. That means that Donald probably out of the league or at least not starting for anybody next season. And just how badly this will have failed in the first couple of years of Matt rule That would lead me to wonder. Is this a coach that Has tried too hard to make the college stick work in the NFL. And is this somebody who would eventually end up when this team does get the number one pick, trying to hightail it out of there and go back to college somewhere? It wouldn't be surprising, right? His his predecessors did that same thing when they went to the next level and realized that it wasn't going to work out. It was a different culture. It was a different environment, so I think certainly there could always be that threat format rule, especially if a good college job opens up. I think this simulation also says that Christian McCaffrey coming back wasn't enough to help them overcome some of their flaws as well, because you still needed Sam Donald to step up, which is what he couldn't do in New York. Obviously the culture was a lot different under Adam Gaze. You thought the fresh start might be difference. And if that's not the case, then where does Sam Donna go from there? But I'm with you. This could be a turning point, both for Sam, Donald and Matt rule. If things work out the way the computers say they might And his computer says that Donald will beat his old team the New York Jets in week one and then go on to earn wins against the Saints, Texans and Eagles. They've been lost to the Cowboys did start out foreign one. Um, But those opponents clearly are not that difficult. And so that four and one record will eventually look back as a mirage. But again, a projection a simulation. There's 285 of them that these computers went through a really good article that we're going to discuss at other points throughout the next 4.5 hours here on ESPN Radio in the ESPN app, But coming up next Jeff Passan, our good friend here to talk about the major league baseball postseason picture. "If you are not vaccinated, go to the opposite of what I just said. Now there are a couple of dudes in the NFL. Sam Donna Carolina Panthers. Plays quarterback for them. Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills plays quarterback for them. Cole Beasley. Why receive the Buffalo Bills? They've made a pretty plain that. You know what? We haven't been vaccinated. You can't tell me what to do. It's my choice. They're not wrong. Here's the problem. They are part of the National Football League Players Association that just signed off on this. So if you are a vaccinated player And you know, one of your teammates is not vaccinated and he has to be under different restrictions. Then you do. This could be a problem. The National Football League in training camp This could be a serious serious issue because it's not going to divide the locker room. Guys are going to respect each other's wishes. But if I'm fully vaccinated and you're not, and I don't know who you've been around Uh, down outside locker room. More than six FT. Keep going. 12 ft that keep going. Keep going. By the way, you feel that have followed the protocols. It could result in a fine of $50,000 for a first offense. Yeah, that made my teeth clenched, too. 50 foul. The NFL is not playing when it comes of this. It doesn't mean that may not be a potential problem. Because anti vaccinated players are going to raise their voices. The problem is their union decided. If you're anti vaccine, you are not going to have the same liberties and the same perks that once who have Stay tuned for that when it comes to that word standoff in the NFL and anti vaccinators against those who have been vaccinated. "Now to god. The i know that you are extremely enthusiastic about Terrence marshall going to the panthers. Twenty seven th pick of the second round just a few picks after escorts from lsu tears marshall to the panthers. What are your thoughts on this cal. I'll pick it a fantastic lang spot. you know. I think i was super high on marshall. Probably highest of just about anybody in the industry All all college season. And all you know predrag and my my enthusiasm is not where one bit. I love the landing spot where some people might be turned off on it You know I know that he is not maybe going to be immediately. Be the number. One with robby anderson and with dj more there. But i think he's going to have a clear role from day one because if you look at his body type and how profiles ios not just a big bodied receiver he also is a a burner to i mean he is true burner and You know high jump. High catch radius any any provides the wide receivers did not do as your which was give a teddy bridgewater. Now is going to be darnold. But they didn't have anybody to score in the red zone. You know everything. They they scored was from like you know deeper out or the the running backs the mike davis or you know. But they really didn't have anybody in the red zone that they could produce. So i think marshall steps in right away and could be. I bet he has a real legitimate chance at leading all rookies in in receiving touchdowns ex year. So you know it's somebody that i like. As far as a talent. I think he can easier to age. Well in that offense because He is going back with his former college coach. Now the head coach of the of the panthers. So i think that this guy drafted him whereas he might have fallen a little bit in. Nfl draft because there was a little bit uncertainty right before the draft about some of his medical history. I don't think coach takes them at high if he has any type about about the about his foot injury so i think that this is going to be the guy that's going to be all help you. Now you're gonna have some flashes. He's going to be probably inconsistent. Probably a lot like a like. I kind of value him a lot. Like the where i had claypool asher whereas i kind of knew that there was going to be a lot of competition for targets but i knew that there was gonna be a lot of upset especially if somebody gets hurt And i just think that there's gonna be a lotta touchdown and he's a big guy when people start really understanding how much of a freak athlete is. Don't be surprised if this guy is being compared as maybe even number one wide receiver in this class next year. That's that's how upside. i see you know. I do think chases a better prospect but you know they were on the same team and You know even on the team with jefferson and chase He marshall was extremely valuable piece of their natural shape team. I mean he. I think he had like fourteen touchdowns or something you know. And he had costa twenty yard per catch average on the team. I mean he he really is a tremendous player and then when those two guys left last year you know he played over about a. I don't know about six or seven seven games. you opted out. And he averaged one hundred and fifteen dollars. You're talking about more leading devante smith. It was really. I believe tears marshall who bleeding the country in yards per game you know before he opted out and he also was averaging close to two touchdowns a game you know and this same competition is all those. Stc guy so. I just liked body. I can't i hate to sound like a broken record. But i really do like big receivers. It's not the smaller wide. Receivers can't thrive in that bayer wide receivers don't bust. I just think that when you historically look at all the body types of players that are generally over six foot in there like over two hundred pounds to twenty six. I'd say two to twenty is about the average. You know we get the top hand wide receiver fantasy for fancy standpoint every year. That's probably about the average. So i like my guys. That profile big catch raises. So i just feel like they're more consistent with a when when you get that's capable of being a possession receiver getting first downs and touchdowns. I i like their consistency versus having a field stretcher. We might put up forty points in a game lake. You kyle i am. I am feeling good about carrots. Marshall and about what he's gonna do in his nfl career. The only hold back that. I have with taras marshall and again this could be viewed as a positive based on what i'm going to say in a second is so terrorist marshall hops into offense with dj more lobbying said in christian. Mccaffrey already there. So you're already looking at the possibility of being the fourth target there in carolina which i deal and add that to the fact that sam darnold who i think everyone considers at this point to be in the bottom. Half of the starting quarterbacks is throwing the ball to terrence. Marshall this is this is clearly not ideal so short term. There are some concerns. I do think like you that he's going to be great in the red zone. Short term era. You're gotta be thinking while sam. Donna already has connected to robinson clearly. The carolina organization views. Dj moore's or number receiver cj. Metcalf a christian mccaffrey a year a year ago. He broke the record for the most receptions for running back in a single season ever. She has to view him almost as a receiver. At this point with the matt of receptions which is insane that he's getting one hundred receptions i think it was a year or two ago so that that's not ideal but dynasty football dicey football so not necessarily great redraft person. In my opinion but dynasty football is about the long game and the long game. I see in the long game i see turns marshall absolutely thriving because we don't know a five we anderson's gonna be in carolina long-term. We don't know what the scenario is going to be with. Sam darnold or with christian mccaffrey. Dj more but we know the is one of the best receivers in this class in. He is talented enough will were at some point career. He will get an opportunity probably sooner rather than later if not this year to really showcase what he can do and he has the talent to be a number one receiver. I love his size. I loved as a big bodied receiver. That's a great fan a red zone. There are a lot of good things about terrence marshall and so what i was saying earlier is the fact that not going to be good in the short term is almost a positive here for you as a dynasty are because now we're seeing him fall to the third fourth fifth round pick of the second round which is lower than it should be gone if anything. This guy should be going at the back half of the first half so now because the term concern that comes with marshall. Now you're gonna be able to go up there and gets terrorist marshall and you're not gonna have to reach from either he's probably just gonna fall right in your laps and you're gonna walk is one of the biggest winners in your dynasty graphs. Because here's a guy that has a potential to be a top five receiver in this

"Quickly now. Zach Wilson. I don't understand why the Jets wouldn't go Justin Fields, Trey Lance, but they end up going with Zach Wilson. The arm talent is obviously Exciting Does he have any chance to succeed there, at least in the short term? Sure, And I think they give it just a lot of cry. They 2nd 1st round pick but traded that ELISA, But it's other often development means so much to go, bro. You have to protect these young quarterbacks, so they have to fly back to the last year search from pick. Analyze very Tucker, this year's We're from Petty trade up four. So they're building the inside out. I think that we can have success. It's just gonna be a little tougher, given that he played in that that schedule that he played. That it was the power five schedule, so we'll see how that translates into bigger, faster, stronger players. But I mean the athleticism and the smarts and all the stuff we saw on film work. Certainly exciting. Is he better than Justin feels a freelancer Mexico's We'll have fun together, but we all thought Sam Donna was gonna be really good. Circumstances were such that he didn't have a chance. So I think that he has a better chance at Wilson doesn't sound like something. Sam Donaldson. You know, I heard Joe Banner former GM in the league formerly with the Eagles, and obviously the Browns, he said. Justin Fields didn't just drop at the end of the season, he said. Basically, maybe Justin Fields was never as high as the media had anointed him. That that sounds like fair logic. I just know that from what I saw, especially the way the league is transition for these guys that have mobility and somebody with the freak athleticism adjust in fields and the great arm talented. It just makes sense that he would be second right behind Trevor Laurence will NFL teams didn't feel that way. What is it that the media was missing all along when it comes to Justin Fields? Yeah, I think your banners on some things I talk to teams late in the college football season that had concerns about just kills a top five pick and at the time the team was in the top five conversation, and I remember saying, Okay, what's going on? Just feels I don't know if I have taken In the top five response I got and I think what happens is and that's why I like this one in the same boat with a lot of the social media bubble that the media in, You don't want to hear anything that disagrees with what you've been told for the last 3456 months. And NFL teams that we see its all time We saw it on the draft several picks in the third round that no one saw coming in the media. And then if it please, like these players more than the media did, and that's just sort of the nature of the beast. The whole idea of the draft is not to let people know what you're interested in doing this team. The 40 Niners did that to a T. And I think if Justin feels have gone back, and I said, there's a bunch of the draft free traps run up and just feel the return Ohio State, let's say and had another great season, which I'm sure you would have. We have been talking about him a year from now the same way we're talking trouble, Lawrence and that we had nothing to say, because everyone's had some issues in your sophomore season. He started off incredibly slow put it together. Like you did last year, And even though we're coming over for a game or two, and I think that's the thing we're testing field, the other thing. Let me is if you have the draft of your 15. We don't have to sell the story lines in the media. But why players really good or really bad And I think You know, I don't hands and all that. So we had an extra couple months and inevitably we came out some stuff about these players. And, um, they dropped in terms of perception and reality. I think NFL teams to exactly what these players were in January and they just want telling people because that's what they do. His fields in a decent spot in Chicago. Or should people be worried after what they saw Admit Strabinsky over the last years? Yeah, I love the idea of him going there and having success, But my concern is that Ryan pace of GM and then a day coach know that there Futures are tied to winning right now and you could argue they should have been fired over the offseason so well, they do what's in Justin feels short term and long term. Best interest. I don't know they just cut Leno, the left tackle, immediately distracted Kevin Jake into the second round. He's a great player. By the way, they sent seven innings and Mr successive right tackles better to move in the left tackle with a rookie quarterback. So, yeah, I mean, they're better situations for him, but also work situation. You just hope that Payson and Maggie have his best interests in mind both in the short term and long term, And if so, he has a chance to succeed. He can certainly play in that weather. No problem. But if things get hot, but they started one and three, for example, and you just wonder. Okay, hold on, just feels so this could be a bumpy ride. Could this be the beginning of the end of voluntary minicamp? That's an interesting question. I think we've seen some pushback between the NFL, NFLPA and agents. Because you know, it's one thing for veterans to say. I don't want to be out there and I get that but guys trying to make the team that had just been drafted or just signed undrafted free agents. I mean, come on. It's a lot to ask those kids to stand up for their new bosses and not show up. Uh, that sends a message. Whether, um, on the surface or subliminally that okay, these these owners, these coaches, these executives This player X decided not to show up and he's trying to win a job, so I think they have to nuance. That's a massage in such a way that that it makes sense for everyone, whether you're five or six year veteran or a guy who was literally just signed his undirected creation because he wasn't grabbed to train a little football team. So I don't know if we're there yet, And I think it sends the conversation with that union member. And the leading the players, But I think we're going in that direction for sure, man. Just two got away four months to start to see all this. Play out. Thank you so much for coming out. Ryan Wilson. Follow me on Twitter. Ryan Wilson. CBS appreciate Let's do it again, then. Yeah. "I think it was a terrible if I'm being honest, I think it's a terrible fit because you're expected to come in and really do the work that is young staff should have been doing. You bring Teddy Bridgewater in and you hope that he has enough. Brought enough shoulders to carry this young football team. The defense was supposed to be terrible. Christian McCaffrey, their most electric offense. Weapon goes down and here you go, Matt Rule. Joe Brady, a 30 Year old, everyone's new, a new defense, a quarter coordinator in the NFL. It was a bad mix with adventuring quarterback who's not the most exciting guy we can When you football games. He's proved that On bring them in with that young staff trying to figure it out. I think more than Teddy, I think this coaching staff really learned the lesson. He got punched in the mouth a little bit and try to figure out they were in the NFL. Hopefully, they'll take a strike here, but I couldn't agree more. I do think this. That and Teddy Bridgewater wasn't a great mix. All right. Also last question I have for you is NFL draft is tomorrow. Do you expect Carolina to still be in the quarterback game in this draft, including trading for the Shawn Watson? No, I think Watson this table for everyone and jewels. Some of that litigation. Some of the allegations Air cleared up, so I don't think they're willing to take a flyer on Watson for his talented as he is. I think Sam Donald was that insurance where they don't have to feel Greedy and thirsty as they were early in the off season about getting a quarterback. What they're going to do now is sit and wait and see how everything on old San Francisco and three Atlanta before and it just feels somehow get down the eight. I believe they will still be in the market and they will take Justin pills because I think he is that talented. If not, they're going to go off in the line. It's been a position of Nis is drawing gross retired some years ago, and it's just been a turnstile over there. So over Shawn Later finacial are the two guys there are eyeballing it kind of fixed that to protect. You know, Sam Donna whoever's under quarterback that there would bring in, but I think that's their game plan for tomorrow night. We need to get picked number seven, man, We got to get picked matter. "Would you know probably good. Catch catching story this on Twitter saying you guys are touching on the thought I had about urban Meyer. And how will he deal with losing? He lost 15 games in six years at Florida he could conceivably lose 15 games in his first season at Jacksonville. Believe me, Urban Meyer is a lot of things. Say that he has a lack of preparation. You can't put that on him. Urban Meyer's hard driven as high octane as he is. He understands exactly the NFL landscape is not gonna be the same in a place where he won three national championships and 187 games as the coach of Bowling Green, then Utah that Florida and then the Ohio State University. Don't believe Jax was gonna lose 15 games in his first year, but he's pretty much preparing for the long term game, but he must have made sure to minimize that as best he can, especially before picks in the 1st 45 picks, and then you get a travel launch of Mongols first four picks and they have all that cat space, the garden a place that you really believe we're gonna buy in that what you're trying to do in Jacksonville over $78 million and cap space, the most of any any team in the league. That's the biggest question with Irving. How will he be able to handle losing because five losses in college? And he'd have a coronary five losses in the league. You're going to the playoffs, you know, nine out of 10 times. So then you have Robert Sala, who Used to be with the Jacksonville Jaguars as their linebackers coach under Gus Bradley. He knows and has faced adversity and that knows how to deal without the NFL. He's also had immense success in the league. No just two years ago. Is in the Super Bowl. Whether we're the lead in the fourth quarter against some guy named Patrick Mahomes. He's also one that the Lombardi as an assistant coach for the Seattle Seahawks, back in 2011. A Zapata about Pete Carroll staff, so Hey, He knows exactly what it takes to win and he knows how to handle defeat. Also in the NFL, you can't get too high. You can't get too low. That's exactly what Sala is. You know, and man anyone, and this may have been his best coaching job yet as a coordinator. What he just did last season. You touched on it earlier, Freddy, you lose guys like Solomon Thomas and and Nick Bosa. Two of your best players. You don't miss a beat and then all the other injuries they had on that side of the ball. Take on both sides of the ball for that matter when it comes to Niners, But they didn't miss a beat man. They still finish the top five. In several major categories. That's that's remarkable. That's coaching man that's getting the most out of your guys. And it's also talent evaluating because they had guys were ready to step in. Absolutely. And as a unit. They didn't drop off that much. And that's the one thing that Joe Douglas now you gotta gotta you believe it? Because I believe in Robert Sala. I'm glad the Jets hide him. Herrick, The enemy would have been a great choice Outfits coordinator. Kansas City Brian Day Bo, the offensive coordinator off the Buffalo Bills with it would've been a great choice. I'm over the moon with this higher, But now if you're Joe Douglas You have a guy that assume that he could be a leader of dudes that dude's a play hard for him whether they were drafted and not drafted with the San Francisco 49 on defense. Now, you got to get him some players that includes him in your quarterback because Sam Donna should still be the quarterback of the New York Jets. He had a bunch of scrubs around him. It's kind of hard to win with the kind of scrubs that it wasn't his fault. Because the Jets as an organization, not Adam cases out of the way, and now don't dug through. The general manager should have done a much better job. Putting guys around a guy that you believe in that was a top three draft choice in the National Football League. Robert Saleh is not going to go in and say Now he can't place and say, I believe that guy still can play. I'm going to make sure that we get guys around him with me that Joe Douglas now it's on you the same way in the New York the other team in New York, the Giants with Dave Gentlemen, you gotta coach you believing in Joe Judge you believe in Daniel Jones is your quarterback now you gotta go out. Then. Put some guys around, Joe does you are in the same position. As Dave government in your job because I love this higher, But this hard on Lee going to work. You have a general manager that confined talent Scout talent and bring that child to help him and help out his quarterback. You know, also, who's he hiring is this coordinators reports are that Michael Floor, the passing game coordinator for the Niners? Will be his offensive coordinator. That's a case. That's mean you're getting a guy who studied under college. Shanahan the last four years that work for you because that works for making if he's had his good of his brother, two gentlemen, the coach, the Green Bay Packers, I'll take it. He's happens good at that guy I'm in. He's got form. So it is the and a head two years ago, man. The Niners had 13 different guys catch touchdown passes. 13 Yeah, that's a good hire by Stalin. He's bringing the floor. I'll just settle for two with the Jets because they haven't had that Santa. I will settle for that. Yeah. Yeah, We got the coach. I believe the quarterback Joe Douglas. Do not let him and Sam Donald down. So what is it gonna be like having a new head coach? And keeping your quarterback in New York. That's next on Freddie Fitzsimmons. And this is ESPN radio. We're back.

"Greetings and welcome inside Final hour of the Jason Smith Show with my best friend, my Carmen. Yes, sir. We have n ba drama with James Harden. We have the list of offseason quarterbacks to go get who are going to be available? We have a lot going on. In the final hour here on the show, James Harden, calling his situation with rockets crazy and not fixable. This following the big defeat the hands the Lakers tonight, the Lakers now just dust in their hands off going, okay. We just killed James Harden spirit and he's going to get traded somewhere in the Eastern Conference. All right, scratch the Rockets. Who's next? When do we play? When we play? The judge would replace fighter Mitchell, we gotta We gotta beat them by 60. So we want to trade out to the Eastern Conference, right? We'll get rid of him. The Lakers are just winning, winning, winning, winning, winning, winning amazed We're gonna win games, and then we're gonna get people out of the Western Conference, But they stole the man's soul going back to the playoffs. So you have to do and you saw Russell Westbrook leave. Sorry. There's one guy gone. Put a giant picture of a wizard's logo or a check box or whatever you're gonna do, and then you get into the season and you know it was a tenuous situation coming in. But the hope being Hey, you'll meet the guys. You'll see how cool the guys are. You'll compete. You'll have funny all gel on It'll be great Nine games in I'm out. I'm done with you all hate you and everything you stand for is here is really what he's trying to say to the rest of the team. It zits next level stuff after a defeat. At the hands of the Lakers, and that's just it right. You saw the empty stare in his eyes as he sat at the podium briefly for that presser. And now LeBron James. Probably smoking a cigar living going next, Esso. We'll have more on that coming up a little bit. Because look hardened, saying tonight, you know he wants out. That's it. I can't play him again. And I've said this by Monday. He's on a different team. Finally, where we're getting to the point where hardened situation is untenable. We told you was going to go into January, potentially February because of the short offseason. They didn't know he wanted out until right before the very short preseason. It'll happen by Monday. He threw the gauntlet down tonight saying, I'm gonna I'm gonna throw the organization under the bus, and now they're going to have to sit him. He's not going to play. You'll see a statement that James Harden is going to sit tonight's game out while we figure things out, and he will be on a new team by Monday, so you'll hear from harden. We'll have more of that coming up in a few minutes, But with today being a day where we look back the national championship Alabama wins again and you saw the Conversations about Nick Saban being had today that we had last night. First on the show All of these things Devante Smith potentially going number two to the Jets, which was everywhere today, but we talked about last night takes last night. Let's look ahead at 2022. Because last night briefly I gave it a big, bold prediction for the NFL draft, right. Not this NFL draft where Trevor Laurence is going number one, and we're seeing if it's gonna be Zach Wilson or Justin Fields going second, maybe somebody else Maybe they go. Further down in the draft, but this time next year, I'll tell you who is going to go 12 in the NFL draft looks at briefly We touched on it last night. The little more detail tonight Next year, 12 are gonna be Sam Howe and keeping Slovis quarterbacks from North Carolina and USC. They are both set up for what is going to be their breakthrough seasons where they have been really good. So far. All right, Sam, how was terrific this year, but he's overshadowed a bit by Trevor Laurence. You're overshadowed by a couple of the quarterbacks and fields everything, and I understand that and you don't win the A. C. C. So there's that, but between he and Slovis and look USC played a very short schedule this year is well, very difficult for them. The breakthrough, but they're both incredibly talented. They're different quarterbacks with different skill sets, But they're going to go 12 next year is gonna be Sam. How it's gonna be keeping Slovis 12 in the NFL draft next season. Look atyou. I like always because I'm looking at it from the season itself. It's like the young guys man between Spencer Rat Learning con. Can't you see him signing? His rookie cards and then John a little picture of a snake on the back end of a be brilliant on we younger lately, you know, he's showed us well, he's not going away. But those guys were not draft eligible. Unfortunately for me and Slovis, from what we've seen here in Southern California and people that caught glimpses and Maybe some highlights because here's the problem. They played late enough often times that by time, you'd be watching the highlights. You're watching the NFL pregame show or listening to me. Chop it up with LaVar Arrington here on Fox Sports Radio. So you're not watching Slovis, so he's still a little bit of a mystery. Other than what a great surname on As you get flowing. They're the only problem is he's got Clay Helton at the helm. That's the only thing that he could screw him up. It's difficult, but but he has a screwed up so far being slowly. Really good. Ain't over yet. It's not the Clay Helton screws up quarterbacks. He just screws up the picking of the quarterbacks. You who do we pick you gonna put out Sam? Donald? No, no, no, no. He's not going to start this season. We're gonna go with two other guys for you. Oh, in Donald turns out to be great. Who do you have now? How about Slovis? No, no, no. I'm gonna go to three guys before I wind up going to keeping Sloane is Oh, hey, go Now. You finally went the Slovis and now look how good they are. So he doesn't screw up guys much. He screws up the picking of the guys like I would be okay with Clay Helton cooking me a meal. I would not be okay with him shopping for the ingredients like if you gave you you know, I'd be okay with that. But going on getting out. I want to help in doing that for me. I can't do it. I can't. I can't do it. I don't know well and games down and distance and all that stuff. It becomes a problem, too. Yeah, Nothing. Yeah. I mean, like you got you got the kid from Oregon who's gonna probably be in the mix there with your guys would be my guest before it's all said and done. So, you know, you've got that coming back at you. You're gonna draft a bunch of offensive linemen anyway, So it's not really gonna matter for you, Uh, we're gonna take an offensive lineman. And until we get five starting offensive linemen were to take five left tackles and try to make it work on the offensive line. Now that the worst idea given what you've been You in front of these other year? Yeah. And still Sam Donna will stake all right. So so there's that We talked about that a bit last night. Now, looking ahead at the playoff who, what Four teams do I expect to see in the playoff Next season for 2022 this coming season in the fall and ahead Well, I kind of let the cat out of the bag on two of them because I really do expect North Carolina and USC to be in the playoff USC should. This should be the exclamation point of Slovis his last couple of years. They have a ton of talent. The should win the Pac 12 and a one loss Pac 12, USC champion. Is getting into the college football playoff because of the mystique and the rock star nous of the program. And clearly, if you're one loss team in the Pac 12, you should be in the playoff. I expect North Carolina to win the SEC. They are loaded. Yes, Clemson is very good. They're starting over in a few positions. DJ Iliana lay maybe a terrific quarterback..

"And I did put my top choices out there on Twitter. However, I I don't know if all of these cubes will be available. I'm I'm telling you at this point, we don't have all of the answers to our QB questions. And so this is Maura about speculation, but which of these quarterbacks do you think are most attractive? If All things being equal. Matthew Stafford's out there or let's just say, Dak Prescott. Now I have a feeling that the Dallas Cowboys would tag him a second time. But if you do that, it's certainly to the detriment of that relationship. They've been in an impasse role long time over contract talks. I would say that his value has increased, even though he's not played since week Number five on band That's potentially an option. If the Cowboys can't come to an agreement with Jack But I think Carson went is the most popular available quarterback. As much as the Eagles want to say they have confidence in him. You know, they've got to figure that out, which means All doors are open. Now. As for Matthew Stafford, it's my wish for him that he would have an opportunity to go elsewhere. But maybe he doesn't want to. And then again, I don't know if Jack is going to be available. Sam Donald's another option. Mr Biscuit E is a guy that technically will be a free agent right? The team did. The team declined the option, and so Now it's up to Mitch Travis Key. The side where he wants to play or if he wants to stay in Chicago. If they offer him a deal, they may not. Oh, my goodness. Such juicy questions. The New Orleans safe is another intriguing situation because of Drew Brees retires Now Sean Payton is said to us. We believe our next quarterback is already on the roster. So, according to Sean Payton, they believe in Taysom Hill. They believe in Jamie's Winston But what happens if Jamie's Winston wants to go else. Where could he be available? Maybe he doesn't want to stick around and be a backup to Taysom Hill in the Crescent City. What the Steelers be happy, elevating Mason Rudolph to their starting job. If Bed. Rafa's burger decides to retire or if the Steelers go a different direction. There's all kinds of different ways this could play out. So of the quarterbacks that could potentially be available. Rank your most attractive options. I reminded. Thank you, Dennis for the tweet, a law radio. Andy Dalton. Could also be available should be. He was on a one year deal in Dallas unless they decide to bring him back. So we're talking cubes and we're going pure speculation, baby and coming up in 15 minutes will welcome Steve wife from the NFL Network and Los Angeles to join us. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio. We're live from the rocket mortgage studios when you need certainty in the home buying process with alone that fits your life Rocket can I don't know if that Ryan will be available, But there's another name that people are our big undying about. Jimmy G. We talked about that before the top of the hour. So Chase these QB stories down a rabbit hole. And let me know which ones you think are the most popular options of your teams looking for a quarterback. You're not getting Trevor Laurence. You're not getting Justin Field. So if you're not the Jaguars with the Jets And we assume a lot there, too. But if you're not either one of those teams Would you prefer to take say? No another quarterback coming out of college. Or would you prefer to have a veteran presence? 855 to 1 to 4 to 27855 to 1 to 4 CBS throwing A little bit of the actual news into the mix. Jets general manager Joe Douglas, who will be in charge of spearheading the coaching search in New York, was asked about his quarterback Sam Donald specifically on Tuesday. I think that Sam's going to be a great quarterback. I'm excited to get a head coaching here. Go through our process. You know, I had a great conversation Sam yesterday. Can't. I won't go in the end of the specifics, but I think Sam has a very bright future in this league. He does not say he thinks Sam has a very bright future in New York. He dances around it. You can infer that if you want But as we listen to it again listen specifically for Joe Douglas to say that Sam Donna will be a great quarterback with the Jets. No, he says. I believe San could be a great quarterback in this league. He talks about bringing in a new head coach. I mean, he says everything but Sam Darnell will be a great QB in New York. I think that Sam's gonna be a great quarterback. I'm excited to get a head coaching here. Go through our process. You know, I had a great conversation Sam yesterday. Can't. I won't go in the end of the specifics, but I think Sam has a very bright future in this league. He doesn't rule it out, but he definitely does not confirm that they want them to Arnold to remain on their roster. That's the general manager Joe Douglas, who came in without him case and remains even though gaze is gone and remember the last two years under gays, and this is with Sam's motto and Sam Shoulder injury. They were ranked last in offense dead freaking last in offense..

"To 7 or whatever he likes to do. We're going to talk about the teams at the bottom of his rankings. Essentially, the teams that now need new head coaches. There are six openings. J Take it away. The medal, says. The Lions are didn't go over well, but very menacing. Here's what I would say The Detroit Lions. You know their number six because that's my least favorite opening of all of them. They they're certainly an organization has been trying to get things right for a long time. They haven't been able to figure it out. You think about when they fired Coach Caldwell, and then they moved on to Matt. Patricia. That thing hasn't worked out for him. They just seemed to not get it right here in a year out, that is My least favorite at number six. The metal sink way. The Jets. That's Italian Key, by the way, Yeah, that's okay. Don't worry about it. The New York Jets are a football team that has some players on it. Some ability, but not enough. It's an organization in a tough market. They do have the number two pick overall, which is appealing. They have some other assets that came from Seattle and Jamal Adam straight. They have Sam Donna, which is a tough ask to what to do with that. If I'm a new head coach coming in, Do I want to try to fix and salvage Sam daughter? Do I want to move on and start with my own quarterback? I bring in? That is a question that needs to be answered for all New York jet fans in New York area people. So when you look at it, this is a job that is appealing but is tough. The expectations of the New York Jets are a lot like the Notre Dame fighting Irish. They have I expectations and never go anywhere. Shoot. Suit the Falcons that's Mandarin K pandering. Oh, God. Okay. He just wants to let me know he went to do got it. Theological falcons or a great organization with a great owner. Rich McKay's running the point right now for the Atlanta Falcons. Raheem Morris. I thought we get this job based on how he came in as the interim head coach. Got them turned around to a degree. But they've lost a number of games at the last minute to have an aging quarterback and Matt Ryan that I believe should move on and be paired with some team that gives him an opportunity. A chance to win a Super Bowl. Julio Jones is there, so they've got some pieces. But this one here is much like Detroit, not Not. I'm not bullish on this, but there's only 2 32 jobs in the National Football League. So somebody wants this team for sure. Number three. The Jags that's English cake cheese, Mr Man. Next time we won't have you do this. The Jacksonville Jaguars are sitting there with a lot of cap space there, looking not only for hair coach but also a general manager. This is a perfect spot for young head coach to come in. They have the number one overall pick whether it's Trevor Laurence, where there's Justin Fields. Whoever's out there that they need to find a quarterback. They've missed on a number of guys over the years. Whether it's Gabbert Gap, Blaine Gabbert whether it's Blake Bortles. Byron Leftwich. They missed over the years that the number one spot at the quarterback spot, So let's see what they do with this number one overall pick, but they have a lot of cap space. They have some pics is intriguing job for somebody. Where J. Williams was drafted. What number J. What was just hit, the Texas got it. You play around, too, but see, that's what you get government to the Houston, Texas. This one is one of my favorites because of the show. I watch it. They have a guy in a future not only a future Hall of Famer my opinion, but also a guy that has high expectations for the organization. Much like double, Sweeney said. When you pass on him, you could potentially be passing on a guy like Michael Jordan and changes a franchise. He certainly has tried to do that. But I would say by itself for the most part because he didn't get a whole lot of help from Bill O'Brien in terms of trading DeAndre Hopkins, bringing in some of the receivers that we thought would help as well as a running game. The defense kind of went away there in the last few. They were in the playoffs last year, playing against the Kansas City Chiefs. It didn't work out the way that they wanted to. They moved on from Bill O'Brien. But this job is intriguing. In itself. It's in a great state. It's in a great city. I think in the year this job will be a good one for somebody and what the number one.
