"The jets and panthers squaring off this week. Here's the question key. I know you have an opinion about this shocking key. As an opinion when we're sitting back at the end of the season looking back at this year. Who are we going to say. Got their quarterback decision. Right the jets or the panthers. Well is he boycotting the show. I told i had an opinion. So i figured i wouldn't say anything. Oh i see proof disproving opinion yes that is contrary want key to go left saying you go right. I like to do to people anyway. Make going and i always go left What one of the things in this situation is the panthers. They're gonna get the at the end of the season. We look up. They're going to have the best quarterback and it's not because of anything other than you got a young guy who's yet to play a regular season game in the national football league and new head coach. New offense coordinator who still trying to learn to become a coordinator and a head coach. Where the guys in carolina have a few years underneath their bill. So i think in in the end they'll put sam in the best position to be successful. He's got a running game. He's got some receivers. He's got a solid defense now whether or not they get up to speed at the level that which they need to compete. That's something else to be seen. I heard mark speir say. He hoped that he throws about three fifty and four touchdowns i hope he throws for about two seventy five it about sixty yards rushing two touchdowns in the air two touchdowns on the ground no interceptions and no fumbles. That's what i hope. Jay sam darnold right now is probably in the best position to succeed. But i i gotta tell you man watching the infrastructure that's being built around the jets. I like how they're going about it. And from what i've seen in preseason tackles and i know it's preseason but when i talked to guys like tony romo and he gloats about zack wilson. Tony romo knows something about quarterbacks. As much as we joke around danner laskey studies film every single day. I see it. He knows something about quarterbacks. And i think the potential and i'm not saying that sam darnold the potential because i think obviously his tenure with the jets made you lose sight of his potential but just seeing a way to jets are going about. It was also. I think the potential there long-term has a chance to be something very very special. I i look. I think. Zack wilson has a chance to be a special quarterback. I don't think that about sam darnold and key. I think there's a tendency to like like you know. Hey quarterback dependent the situation. What surrounds you your coaching. Of course of course it does. Of course it does but split but it also depends upon a talent of the dude right zach darnell has i think i didn't even want. I was the sexiest man. I'm sorry darnold. Sam darnold to me may be in baseball. It's called a four a player if you look at dudes aaa stats. They translate pretty well to the majors right but some dudes for whatever reason. It doesn't quite translate to the majors. Maybe they'd go play in japan and they can tear it up there because it's the because what they have translate to four a which doesn't really exist. Sam darnold to me. Maybe a great for a quarterback. I don't know that he'll be a great. Nfl quarterback. i thought when he got drafted a chance to be a good one for a while. But what i've seen is not that i know. He checks a lot of boxes but does he check them at a high enough enough level. I've seen that. Wilson do things on youtube in college right and even in. Preseason zach wilson. Do things where you go. That's a little differently. Talented key your shit. You're smacking your head like no no. It's not that you don't think. Zack wilson is differently. Talented than than darnold. you think. They're similarly talented sam donaldson so much more. Talented than zach wilson. In what way a lot of ways. He's bigger he's more athletic hit. This was an all state basketball player in high school. What do you mean youtube video. Max you can go pull youtube videos osaman high-school college in amazing things that he short stint with the check. Your those sirens like he's about to get pulled over for blatant khomeinism he's about to get pulled over for blatant homers about home homer ism. It's about knowing what i'm seeing in understanding what i'm seeing. You have a quarterback that was in a situation with adam gates for crying out loud like give me a break. Here has more arm talent. Darnold or zach wilson. I think wilson. Oh arm talk. I'm agreeing with you with you on your side. You'll see hold on one thing. Y'all think another. And that's all. I agree with you on. I'm not with macs. On the fact. That sam darnold is a four a quarterback. I do think there's only a few a slight you players. In the history of all sports regardless of the coach regardless of the gm regardless of the owner they can exceed exponentially. Not darnold right. Now there are. Some guy has a better foundation right now. I think being established by the jets thus far than what sam darnold had into i agree on listeners size but there's a reason the from darnold and used the dre only donald because they were conflicted on what to do max okay. What was the constitution. What was the conflict is. Here's a guy. I got a new head coach coming in i. I did not draft this guy. As a general measure would tell you joe douglas. We given him an opportunity to chance. They paired him would coach. That was incompetent in adam case. Why ever he was hired in the first place. I'll never know sure but when you look at it you say to yourself fresh start. We can't afford to bring a new head coach here in. Try it all over again when we have five quarterback sitting on the board with the number two pick. We've gotta move him right now unless book on lenox solid or whoever came in identifies the guy they already have none. No no i like that guy. I want to keep that guy. Look pay oregon. Dr no no. I was not gonna pay sam darnold but it was. You were running up on his fifth year. Op thank you you're conflicted. You have a lot of decisions that you need to make in order to make your roster to build your team and you said to yourself. I'm not going to decide to pick up a fifth year option if he goes out there and he rips it up now. I got a long term. Extend him at this number. That's not going to allow us to maybe get some of the players or re-sign some of the guys that we wanna re-sign is going to kind of put a stranglehold on what we're capable of. That's all that's fine. That's all fair. That's those those are that's right. I understand that analysis. What is sam darnold do. Or what is he done in the nfl. So far that would make you or anyone think he could be a star. Let alone a good quarterback matt now discounting his very bad situation. I get that no to counting us saying what has he done right. but what does he like. You had to sign something at this point that would make you think that really stands out. This guy is going to be a high average. At least nfl quarterback you never saw glimpses of sam darnold where you're like damn in the right. That's why i just got man. You gotta watch you gotta watch for those games. His ceiling is pretty high. When you see those glimpses again. I do think you're discounting to a pretty high degree who he was surrounded with you know. He was the first non veteran quarterback that adam gates has ever had that don't guys for example as a giants fan daniel jones. Daniel jones is not a solid quarterback at the moment. But i've seen enough from him to think if he was in the right situation. Maybe the average high average. But i've also seen enough to know. That's not a great quarterback. Do you look at sam darnold and think he can be a great quarterback in the nfl. I think a great quarterback in the nfl depends on what you define as great see..

"Zooms helping young quarterbacks develop ahead of the pack. Somebody who's trained. Nfl quarterbacks during the off season somebody's got tremendous insight into them without further. Ado jordan palmer tour. We're getting ready to head into a big season. The i seventeen game season. You say your off season working with a number of nfl quarterbacks. Give me an idea. Some of the guys you work with and what you're expecting to see added them this season Will for some of the young guys I spent a lot of time Whichever lawrence and it was an interesting time because You know when he landed in california he did. He was unaware of the shoulder. Injury torn left rotator cuff and so Found that The whole process of bump in the pro day up Throwing and and And obviously the jaguars selecting him and and in the process of rehabbing getting better so it was just a very unique off season for trevor for sure and one nacre me. I've never bumped a pro day up eight weeks. You know bumped went back a week or so but never up eight weeks so in nine. It was fun watching him. Kind of develop in also. He had a lot of life. Changes you know you got you got married. And just a bunch of a bunch of life happening for him Obviously he's at the center of a lot of conversations and has been for a long time. so so trevor. was one of the young guys chambers. Shell a guy who who's With the chiefs. Right now. And i've made many comments that he's before the draft. I don't care what i don't. I don't know if he's going to get drafted and i don't care what round but i think he's gonna play twelve years and they just released the guy. He was competing with Yesterday so it looks like he's going to be a great addition for the room in kansas city and And then on the veterans side of things. Josh allen sam donaldson low temperature borough pile alan who had basically identical injury to dak prescott in So the rehabilitation of that and and He is he came back And then you have a bunch of younger guys and was able to cross basil. The tennessee recite ends running backs. His guys have their their Their players out here. And i've been spending more time. Last year's with the pass catchers the titans Receivers and running backs so is able to work with a lot of rookies in a lot of a lot of veterans law. Let's get back to lawrence a second so far. Urban meyer is not named him. Starting quarterback what is your take on. What's going on there. And the way that he's performed this preseason we'll it's interesting and because he's the number one pick and because what's happened the last two years with the number one pick it's a head scratcher as to why you wouldn't name him the starter on draft day. It's just go ahead and go forward with it. But adam you you've been doing this a long time. What he's doing what what urban is doing whichever right now was the nor three or four years ago. I can think of all sorts of guys that i just that i've worked with. Who split reps all the way through training camp split reps di weren't even named the starter even though it was their team. I mean to shawn watson split repsol through camp as a rip going into his rookie year and then they named tom savage the starter and then he benched tom savage at half time and then john watson was named the starter at halftime. We want any look back and we'll wells a waste of fifty percent of these reps. This dude could've been getting better. And then kyle. Mary comes on and they just roll with them. And then joe borough last year. They just roll with them. And so it's only really a head scratcher because of what the last two t the way that the last two organizations that selected quarterback number one have behaved and And now you can make an argument. She's a good player and he's proven and all that you've already made your decision. Hey can take travelers number one. So i'm more on the side of give him every rep possible because adam. Here's an interesting piece of this. And i had a. I was chargers Niners practice on friday. And i was talking to a A bigger name former head coach. And we're we're we're talking afterwards about this and he brought up a great point and said you know it's not just the young player that needs reps. It's the other players that need reps with that. Young blair right solicit let's say kinship with jaguars Have a veteran center. That center needs to know what things that trevor doesn't see it like we can talk about in meetings that You know the quarterback's going to point to the will linebacker ray like that. Senator needs to know what trevor knows and doesn't know and so he's gotta get those reps and so. It's not just the reps that trevor needs the whiteout. No under getting a feel for. How trevor is gonna throw this ball the old line getting feel for how trevor is gonna call this and and so. That's why i'm more on the side of if he's gonna be your started giving every possible. Now you worked with. Sam darnold josh allen. You give me some other quarterbacks that we work during the off-season jordan. Yes sam. Darnold josh allen kyle. Alad spent a lot of time. With joe borough as he's gone through his rehabilitation and then as basically once he got cleared to throw a we kind of put some work together and then this was a big off season. I worked with a more college guys than i ever have. Passed and a lot of guys that are coming out next year. So we're going to go into those college guys in a moment. But gimme what we're going to see this year. From sam darnold and joe borough being that you worked intimately with bill during the off season. Well i think you know an interesting one because And i know it's a new regime over there but you know if you look at sam situation last year and the situation that he stepped into right now. It's pretty interesting because team is starts off with the same right. Everybody has the same salary cap. Everybody you know. Everybody has the same financial backing.

"They re invigorate themselves? Can they become that team that everybody had expected them to be for so many years? Just in Herbert is on this list. Justin Herbert is probably the best of all the young quarterbacks that we've seen not named Pat Mahomes because of how big and strapping and and strong he looked as a rookie last year, and if they get enough talent Around him defensively, they get strong. The Chargers are a team that has a chance to teach arrive, but I understand why they did it. I just feel to me this is a missed opportunity of the of the teams of the old heads that got all of these primetime games, the five that I was mentioning before the Packers, the Saints Cowboys Seahawks Steelers Ravens Rams, Chiefs and Buccaneers. The Packers are obviously the one that everybody will keep their eye on. This got a lot of play ahead of the schedule release because so many Questions are out there regarding their quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his deteriorating relationship with the Packers and what that means. I think it's interesting because Even if I think they're in a no lose situation in a lot of people will put it pushing position at the other way because of Jordan love apparently not being ready, but I think they're in a no lose situation. Both the Packers and the NFL for putting the Packers in this situation. If Aaron Rodgers comes back, we know what the pressure is going to be like They've been in the NFC championship game. Each of the last two seasons. Two years ago, they got rolled by the San Francisco 40 Niners last year. They want a tight one that they know I'm not gonna say probably should have but could have won against the eventual world champions in the Buccaneers, who just seemed to have their number. Remember? The Bucks beat him up earlier earlier in the season, but the Packers Are are a team that has tons of expectation for taking that next step and grabbing that ever elusive second championship for for Aaron Rodgers, and if he's there, I think we'll see them right back. Maybe, you know, maybe a little bit of a struggle is the division gets a little bit better in the NFC is obviously better. But I can see the Packers who haven't who didn't lose much this offseason who have a Hungry, a a chip like extra chip on his shoulder now quarterback and Aaron Rodgers trying to get them and get to that championship again. I can see why they're on five times. Now. What happens if Aaron Rodgers gets traded to the Denver Broncos, who, by the way only have one Monday night game, But that's the That's the potential landing spot that people keep talking about. What if Aaron Is no longer a green Bay Packer. What happens if Aaron goes out the door and they're stuck with Jordan Love. It's not gonna be Blake Bortles. I know they just signed Blake Bortles, but it's not gonna be Blake borders. Who's taken snaps under center at least not for the entirety of the of the year if Aaron Rodgers of the quarterback, But what happens if Jordan love is pushed into a service if he if he has to play Now the expectation is not going to change. It's still gonna be sky high rocket high, and for most people, they would position this as a losing proposition for the pack. To me. I see this as the perfect proposition for the Packers. Why? Because Jordan love who is a young, inexperienced He played in the small conference that at Nevada and Vargas State? Yeah, Nevada state who has maybe a lot of growth to go before he's going to be able to be that M v P top 15. Type quarterback in the NFL Utah state. I mean, said Nevada State Utah State one of the most important things, though, if Erin leaves, and he is forcing the duty that he has is a very good defense. Top 10 defense a good offensive line. A great running game with Aaron Jones and AJ Dylan to two different types of bags. You can either pound it with pound you into submission or be a home run threat. And Aaron Jones, you have Davante Adams as your wide receiver, one of the best in the National Football League and most of it, maybe even most importantly, this is what I've always a spouse. You haven't elite tied in, and Robert Tonya knew nobody knew about until last year, but Aaron Rodgers pushed him or grew him into one of those stars. One of these guys who you can count on and so if I'm Jordan love or on the Green Bay Packers, I'm actually not worried about what happens with my quarterback. I know everybody is positioning it that way. But when I look at the situation for the Packers, I think they're and they're in an ideal spot because of Aaron stays. He's still pissed. He still wants to prove that he's the man. He's still going to go try to win another EVP and playing it in VP level because that's just who he is. But if he leaves, you're in a situation where your quarterback there's young. Growing needs to grow. Quarterback is not in a win now. Situation. Um he obviously doesn't have to be a world beater either. I actually love this for the Packers and While it was risky to put the Packers on five times in prime time, if Aaron Rodgers bounces I don't think if he does, that they're going to stake actually think they're going to be pretty damn good. Even with Jordan love at the helm. This the one thing about the NFL that is it's I think it's often misconstrued by people. We we believe that you're just that that player away and I kept saying this all last year. Yeah, the Buccaneers were a player away, but it was actually more than a player is a couple that They came with Tom Brady. But the Buccaneers were kind of the exception to the rule. Usually teams that are good and they get deep. They are the ones that have been built over. Not just a year or two, but three or four years, so as much as we we, we malign the management, Gooden crunched the general manager at Green Bay as much as mean what maligned him around the handling of the Aaron Rodgers situation. You actually have to give him credit for the team that he's built? Because if it if this comes to a head and this ends in a way that we didn't expect it to end that is Aaron Rodgers, not Being a green Bay Packer. They're actually still set up for success. And so while I'll look at the old heads, they're getting all of these Primetime games and the Green Bay Packers being one of them as Man. Do we really want to watch all these old guys? One could see some of these young guys. Actually, I think with the Packers, you have the best the both world if Aaron's there You still you're going to get in v P type. Aaron. If it's Jordan love, you're going to see the making. Maybe of one of the great replacements. Who knows what happens with him. I'm not sold on him, but You don't have to be sold on him this year. You really don't because they have a team that's built for success. That kind of your respective of who the quarterback is. Obviously Aaron could take you higher. Take your fire Father and left you Lift you to greater heights. But if Jordan love has to play, I'm actually not too worried about the Green Bay Packers. All right, the Panthers, they dumped their starting quarterback and are repositioning with Sam Donaldson. But that former starter for them Teddy Bridgewater, he might be throwing some shade and its staff's away. We'll get to a next to.

"You guys made a mistake. Don't bet against me. So we have spite season's coming up helps tack on two seasons out of spite. I don't have any information on it other than trying to understand the personalities here. I don't know the Packers personality, but I I'm aware of Aaron Rodgers personality. Yes. We'd love it. You were right from day one. They should have traded Jordan love for a third round pick and been done with this. Yes. I'm sorry. Poor Jordan. Love Look at the shoes. He has to feel down for whatever he does play. But But here's the Packers do you admit you made the mistake? Yes. Now This is a new GM. You could go in there and go. Hey, I don't know what you guys were thinking. But Jordan, we have some nice parting gifts. You're welcome back, you know. We're going to send. You were going to send you someplace. But you know what happened when the Jets got a new G m A new coach? They got rid of Sam Donaldson. They're like up Sam CIA. And Sam is more decorated than Jordan. Love. Yes, he found that packers. I'm like we didn't make a mistake We took who we thought was the best player in the draft, but we've worked everything out with Aaron. Yeah, Don't worry. We're working things out with Aaron. It's the media who's running with this and spinning this out of control. We're actually good. We're just negotiating a contract standard everyday NFL business. Yes, make love in. You know what the problem is. It's his history that they've had to quarterback since 1993 that they do You think they thought, Hey, we did this with their in bred and it worked out perfectly. Let's they must have thought that when they drafted Joy Love All right. I'll go back to what I said. Um They bet against Aaron Rodgers. Because he had what 25 touchdowns 26 touchdowns back to back seasons. That's those air off years for him. They're probably thinking if he has another one of these, we can probably get out from underneath this and then we make, you know, pave the way for Jordan Love. Now is Jordan Love ready this year? Probably not. We're not going to know until the following year. But they were betting against Aaron Rodgers. It feels like because if you knew that he was going if I said to the Packers, Roger's going to be the M V P by the way. Would they have taken Jordan love? I'm going to say no, you wouldn't have We'll take a break. I don't know what we accomplished. But it feels like I know less than I did a week ago at this time. Come up with a poll question. "At pick number one Go with Trevor Lawrence at to the Jets did select Zach Wilson at a BYU and with the third pick after a month of speculation out of the Mack Jones, it was the FCS product from North Dakota State. Trey Lance going with the third overall pick. And right now, the Atlanta Falcons are about to make their pick with the fourth pick in the 2021 NFL draft. The Atlanta Falcons Select Kyle pits tight end Florida Heil pits. Tight end Florida crash looks to throw fires down the field got a receiver. It's carpets at Pitts breaks free. UK Sports Network Washington Sports Network. W Q. AM Miami Hurricanes radio Network J. R. You live right in Atlanta? I thought it was going to be Kyle pits. I know that somewhere, saying Maybe it could be just in fields, but once they restructured that contract of Matt Ryan, I really did think they were going to take the tight end that of Florida College pits, and that's the move. Yeah, it's no surprise. And this is the work of Thomas Dimitrov. Even though he's no longer a member of the Falcons, Fonso knows the new general manager. This is the move he had to make because he is stuck. With Matt Ryan. His contract has been restructured. It feels like since the day that he signed it, and we know that they're in an interesting situation right now with Julio Jones. So the Falcons are in cap hell. I'm gonna have a lot of past catching options and carpets will certainly add to that and you have to think they are going to move Julio Jones at some point, right? That sooner than later. I think if they find a deal to they're taking, I think most certainly I don't. I don't think it's guaranteed, but I believe it's going to happen. They have more than enough offensive weapons. They need to worry about their offensive line, and they're just going to try to squeeze as much juice out of Matt Ryan as as that's left, and I don't think there's that much, especially if you legitimately want to compete for a Super Bowl. Those days are behind him. So Kyle pits the first non quarterback off the board. As expected. You did have Trevor Laurence and Zac Wilson Go one and two. Let's get back, though to San Francisco's pick of Trey lands. Obviously something changed in the last month. I'll tell you I talked to Trey Lance right when the pig pandemic did begin, and I was so blown away. By how polished he was in his professionalism. And when you just talk to me, said, Wow, This sounds like a franchise quarterback, and I think there's a lot of excitement. There are a lot of intrigue to see what he could turn into. But what does this mean? Now? For Justin Fields and Mack Jones? The Bangles aren't taking a quarterback. Miami's probably not taking a quarterback. The lines and panthers could I don't think Detroit would I think Carolina more likely than Detroit, even though they just traded for Sam Donaldson. You have Denver at nine. And maybe a team like I don't know. New England trades up. You've heard some rumors with Philadelphia. When we look at Justin Fields and Mack Jones, where do you start to look for them to go? J r? Well, when I think Well, who knows? Mac, I think he might. He might be in store for slide, I think is, as you just said. Is more of a likelihood. That you can expect Justin Fields to maybe go to Carolina. Maybe he'll be out there competing with Sam Donald. I would find that to be likely. Carolina needs the move. I know he wouldn't mind playing a little bit closer to home in Atlanta, so we'll certainly see. But Mack Jones now that he was not selected by the 40 Niners. I think you can kind of just Aura darts at a board and figure out where he goes. I'll be curious of Denver ends of taking a quarterback. I still think all five of these quarterbacks at the absolute latest Will not go past 15. If New England is there and stays at 15 and Mac or Justin Fields is still available. You have to think the Patriots are going to take a Q B. Now, let me just give you the inside here from Adam Schefter. New San Francisco quarterback Trey Land. Psychological tests for the 40 Niners were off the charts per source. The 40 Niners considered him the smartest quarterback in this draft class. And how about this piece of information from Schefter? 40. Niners did not tell their coaches or scouts there. Pick I'm a. I'm assuming here that it's everyone other than Kyle Shanahan, you know. Whoever you know, you know when you look at the rest of the coaching staff, because even John Lynch said, this is gonna be Shanahan's pick. They didn't know the team was selecting Trey Lance until the pick was announced. That's wild, too. May you have coaches on the staff that didn't even know who the pick was going today? Listen, I I tweeted this out. Kyle Shanahan. Don't go gambling with the guy. Don't Don't. He keeps all of the cards close to the vest, and he threw a wild card out there. No one expected this, and it's not a surprise because we've heard it now for weeks is we've gotten closer to today to tonight. We've heard that no one really knew. And we have to see what Trey Lance will do. You said he sounded awesome. And Schefter says he passed the psychological test with flying colors, okay? We haven't seen you in a year. Now. We need to see you do it on an NFL field. It'll be fun if he can, and we said many of the same things with Carson once when he was coming out of college and same college, obviously with North Dakota State University first year he did go seven and nine, played well didn't know that he was going to be the starter until a week before the season because they made a trade with the Viking sending Sam Bradford over to the Vikings when Teddy Bridgewater got hurt, and then the next year, Carson wants his plane and VP ball. Unfortunately, got hurt out in L. A with the going up against the Rams again. The Eagles still one And then after that the career of Carson Wentz really just took a turn for the worst. And now he's a part of the Colts organization. So I think many people are going to compare just because of the school Lance to Carson once. There was a lot of upside in the beginning, but you know it, and I know what it's about consistency in this league, and I don't know when. Exactly. We're going to see Trey Lance on the field first, but when he does that clock does start Taking on the career of Kyle Shanahan, because right now he's considered a top 10 coach. Right now he's considered offensive genius, but he's been defined by shortcomings in Super Bowls as an offensive coordinator and a head coach, not being able to protect the lead. And if he had the final say on this pick, as as John Lynch did say the other day as he would defer to Kyle Shanahan. No matter what he thought a month ago, the pick is what it is now And ultimately, if Trey Lance doesn't have success than in a few years, you will find a new GM and a new head coach for the 40 Niners. No, this is a different level of scrutiny. It's one thing to think about a collapse in the Super Bowl with the Falcons is another thing to think about being close to a Super Bowl with the Niners and Garoppolo not being able to get it done. But when you have your name attached to a draft pick the way that Shanahan will have his name attract attached attached. Excuse me. Trey Lance. You better be prepared, and he believes in him, And so I want to give him some benefit of the doubt that he knows what he's doing..

"A little bit, but I mean, I've been on record saying I hate quarterback competitions, and I think it ends up just and that's why I agreed with what Denver did last year. Just kind of committing to drew lock and saying you get all the rest because from a reps perspective for Any young player. You're gonna want him to be the guy. I just don't think it works when you have two young guys buying for the reps and trying to learn the system together and all of that. Um, but I did. You know, I kind of thought a scenario would be better. If you're drafting a first round quarterback you That's your actual competition for Drew lock you actually see what happened. In camp and, um, either way, you kind of come out winning. It's true Lock wins the job outright, and you kind of forced him to win the job. And you've got a first round quarterback and depend on what happens with this contract in the future or whatever. You've got some some hedging a little bit. On so that that's the way I was thinking about it. But, um, hearing Tim's perspective of just you know what you don't want in the quarterback room and the kind of chemistry you do want in there. And what competition does that at times? Um, you know, I think it's a compelling case, too. If you end up bringing in a guy that you think could be the starter, and he's a young guy and needs to learn than you know, having to lock there and then competing may not be the best environment for either of those guys. Chatting here with Jeffrey. History from Mile high Airport where some other things that stood out to you in that podcast that you guys sort of again. A lot of time on Sam Darnel and I agree with Joe. I want to kind of go watch a little bit more. I think Tim is actually gonna do a breakdown of Sam Donaldson. What are some other things that stood out to you? Yeah, I thought his take on Trevor, Laurence and back. Wilson was really interesting. Um and I do agree with him a little bit. In terms of just the How we've almost probably put unfair expectations on Trevor Laurence, maybe as a quarterback, and when maybe from the tools perspective, we're maybe over selling it a little bit and obviously I think he's a great player and we'll see what happens. But I was I was surprised. Here, Tim with a little bit more down on Trevor and maybe more high on Zach Wilson in that regard, and then Mac Jones as well. I think those two guys probably from a system that those were the kind of my big takeaways is. Those are the two guys that I want to go dig into. Maura of on DATs. What I like you. We can watch it. I can watch it from a tape perspective or try to see it. But talking to a guy like Tim, who has The expertise from an offensive perspective and knows the coaching points and stuff of how to watch is always enlightening, toe know who's gonna be fit best in the system. Things like that. And then the other thing we talked is You know if you're bringing in a young quarterback from the first round You're assuming that Pat Shurmur has a lot of saying that right because he's gonna be the guy grooming him, But that's an interesting position because you know you're picking the fit Shermer system. He probably has a lot of input in that. What happens if you draft that quarterback, and then their offense continues to sputter? It doesn't pan out and, you know, does the new GM want to move on from Pat Shurmur to stand? You want to move on from Pat Shurmur? If you're too isn't much better than your one, And now you're starting over it. IOC again and you have a young quarterback, so That's kind of an interesting thing is how much weight do you give Pat Shurmur in the drafting process? I think you have to give him a lot. But that almost means you're committing to Pat Shurmur for another year is well. Past this one. If you're bringing in a new quarterback, we had about two minutes left and you mentioned something there that I want. I was very specific I wanted to have you want to talk about and it's that every year, it seems like draft experts and you're a guy that follows it all closely. We may be We put too much emphasis on these quarterbacks. We put too much expectation. You just mentioned that with Trevor Laurence, and we sort of a sign a certain value to these guys. That is almost better than what some teams have his existing quarterbacks like like if they have kind of a mediocre quarterback, It's like what you got to go into the draft and take this quarterback trade lands. Because he could be better. But he may not end up her luck feeling right? That's what I'm saying. Like, right? We throw out that hyper, bro. Hyperbolic stuff, So I mean, how do you parse through that? And me. And do you agree that we maybe build these guys up a bit too much? Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I think we look at guys like Justin Herbert who come in and kind of catch fire right away. And then we want to start assigning that to everyone. And even Justin Herbert kind of tapered off towards the end of the season, And I think we We still have to recognize that these guys are coming in, particularly depending on the systems that they're coming from. They're coming in and having to learn a whole new language. And you know all the complexities that come with jumping into an NFL offense. And so it doesn't matter what the tools that they bring to the table, and that's mostly what we focus on. I feel like Um, you know, myself included. When we're looking at quarterback. We get enamored with the athleticism, the arm strength and all of that, and I don't necessarily see what they're being asked to do from an offensive, you know, mental processing perspective or anything at the college level and how quickly that would translate. And so I think the ramp up time is something that we really don't As you know, Draft evaluators have a good day for and That's probably the place we sell These guys short the most is how much time they're going to need to ramp up and a lot of that comes from what system they're coming into. And what's when they're going to Always good to chat with you, Jeffrey again. Fantastic Work on the cover Two Broncos podcast with Joe Rales. Thanks for the time tonight, my man. We appreciate it. Absolutely enjoy that. You'll take care. Alright, Jeffrey History on Twitter at Jeffrey History and of course Mile High report We check in with them every Friday. This is something that The more the longer I've been doing this, the more it bugs me the as you mentioned the tray, lance thing like, Oh, my gosh, This guy could be the next Andrew luck. He's got all the tools and it's like my goodness like we like these guys don't even have a chance. You talked about building building guys up Citation, the president they slap a label on somebody's the next This And they put the highest label that they can on the guy, the lowest level if they think he's gonna give us But Lawrence Lawrence is generational, like he's a generational quarterback is dead. And if he doesn't do that in Jacksonville, these bus right and that's the thing like that. What happened to being good, generational or bust people that call Derek Carr a bust their cores, a top 12 quarterback in the NFL being a top 12 quarterback in the NFL? Means you're a top 12 quarterback in the world. You know, like how good you have to be to be at that point of these trashy the bomb, So I get so tired of stuff. Man Coming. He's listen. He's trained. Lance is a two year project that has incredible tools. There's no, he has no collegiate. Rather last time the guy played serious pool, played one season of FCS College ball and left before that was high school ball..

As you know, we have met the criteria for submission for consideration. The nomination for best documentary have no idea what will happen, but we've done all the Work necessary to least be considered. There are a bunch of films being considered, I think, close to almost 100. So the odds are not very good, but at least we met the criteria for them to at least consider it. Now. Mike Lindale, As you know, has received a cease and desist letter from Dominion, claiming they're going to sue him for defamation if he persists in his argument that the election was stolen. He said. Bring it on. He was interviewed by Newsmax and one of the anchors walked off the set during the interview. Let's play part of the interview. Twitter apparently now has permanently suspended the My pillow company accounts. The company account after its CEO Mike Lindell used the page they say to continue posting. This comes as Twitter permanently. Ban dwindles personal account. Last week. Joining us now to discuss is the founder and CEO of my Pillow and the author of the book. What are The Odds? Mike? Lyndall, Mike? Thank you so much for joining us and welcome. So what? What? What happened with your Twitter account and the company page? Well, first mine was taken down because we have all the election properties. So many machines. We have 100% proof and then I when they took it down, might be reached cycle. Put it back up my personal I put it. It was Mike. Thank you very much. Mike. Mike, you're talking about machines that were newsmax of not being able to verify any of those kinds of allegations. We just want to let people know that there's nothing substantive that we've seen and let me Uh, While there were some clear evidence of some cases of voter fraud and election of regularities, the election results in every state were certified and Newsmax accepts the results as legal and final. The courts have also supported that view. So we wanted to talk to you about canceling culture. If you will. We don't want to re litigate the the allegations that you're making, Mike because way, understand where you are. So let me ask Do this. Do you think that this should be temporary Because it appears to be permanent. Could you make an argument that it is temporary? What Why would you make an argument that this could be a temporary banning rather than permanent? No, I wanted to be a permanent because you know what the gender is because I'm revealing all the evidence on Friday of all the election problem with these machines, so I'm sorry. Okay, Mike, can I ask our producers Can we get out of here, please? I don't want to have to keep going over this week. New smash have not been able to verify any of those allegations. Teacher. You're my hold on a second. Everybody hold on a second. Mike Mike, hold on one second. Let's talk a little bit about just what is happening overall, in terms of censorship, Esso out my company and myself in this country is canceled culture. Trained to cancel me up. And you asked the question this point. The co anchor walked off the set. They canceled that because I have evidence of the machine path reveal it all in friends. Okay. All right. Well, Mike, I think I think a lot of folks understand that. You know, Newsmax early, put out that statement, obviously drafted by their lawyers saying that we've never confirmed any of all this. We're not saying anything. Obviously, they're afraid of also being sued. Anyway, the hacker got up and walked out a zoo. Mike was speaking. He wanted nothing to do with it. Apparently, he's concerned, apparently about his reputation. And maybe about the reputation of Newsmax. I don't know, but He walked off. Now a number of people are saying that this is the end for Donald Trump. It's done. He could never run again. He'll never be. Are you kidding me? I am old enough to remember when Richard Nixon was written off. Richard Nixon lost a very close election with JFK in 1960. Then two years later ran for governor of California, his home state. Lost. And the ABC. Sam Donaldson even put on a special call the political obituary of Richard M. Nixon, saying that he has done he's finished. He's toast. Especially because of his last press conference press congress he gave after he lost the Gubernatorial race in November of 1962. He was very, very concerned about the way he was treated by the media. And frequently. They play excerpts from this press conference, but they don't play the whole context. I thought he was quite calm and quite measured in his criticism of the media. Fellow on who, at least will report with the man says. It's all anybody can ask. Right? Apart from that. I just want to say this. Among the great papers in this country that people say that I should be concerned about her. Uh, Louisville Courier Journal, The New York Paul posts. The Milwaukee Journal. Fresno. And the Sacramento Bee. I couldn't be disagree with that more. Want newspapers. If they're against a candidate, I want him to say it. I believe they should say it. I don't mind reporters, saying I would hope But in the future Azua result of of this campaign that perhaps they would try at least Simply to see that What both candidates say. Reported. But if they have questions to ask of one candidate, they asked the same questions of the other candidates. Last point. I leave you gentlemen now. And you will now write it. You will interpret it that you're right. Desire. Eladio, I want you to know. I just think how much you're gonna be messing. You don't have Nixon to kick around anymore. Because gentlemen This is my last press conference. And It will be one in which I have welcomed the opportunity to test what's with you. I have always respected you. I have some time disagreed with you. Unlike some people I've never canceled a subscription to a paper. And also, I never will. I believe in reading what my opponents say. And I hope that what I have said today will at least Make television radio the press. First Recognized the great responsibility. They have to report all the news. And second Recognize. They have a right and a responsibility there against a candidate giving the shaft Also recognize if they give him the shaft. Put one lonely reporter on the campaign who will report what the candidate says. Now and then. Thank you, gentlemen. And good day E thought he was quite reasonable. We come back Joe and Philadelphia. "Retires. And then you've got Matthew Stafford supposedly in a deal with Los Angeles Rams because he really likes paying taxes. Tony Katz 93. W I. B C Good Morning. So what's The plan. Let's bring in Kevin Bowen from one of 75 the fan, one of 75 the fan dot com. You've got the article about what the options are, but before anything What this deal. Stafford likes this deal, or it was just the Rams are willing to give up so much that how could the Detroit Lions say No. And Stafford doesn't have a choice? Yeah, I mean, definitely more Ram than I do Think Matthew Stafford wanted and was intrigued by being in Los Angeles. Um I think his family wanted to go there. But again he was under contract. So the Lions had execute this deal on their own, and and it was impressive trade package. We got two first round picks. And potentially starting quarterback. They got Jared Goff back. He does carry a big cap it but at the same time he is only 25 years old and lives to GM comes from the ram. So it's very two different sides of thinking here. Tony, the Rams are all lead when now. The lines are looking much more towards a rebuilt I'm looking at your article over at 175 the fan dot com What the options are for the Colts a quarterback, but before we get into that list, what we're saying is, there's no way we're keeping Jacoby percent, and there is no faith that Easton, who we picked up in the last draft could be the start of this year. Correct what service eats and Chris Ballard isn't even sure if he's comfortable on him being the backup, and this was before Philip Rivers decided to retire. So you know that's against the first order of business there because Ethan is under contract. Whoever set the free agent we talked Jimmer stay for about an hour last week and then an hour, Jimmerson says that lot. He did not bring up the name to Kobe percent. One time he started 30 games to this franchise. No, you're in a weird situation right now. He knows the offense. But is anyone else but in no way, shape or form Do I think this is a window team and Jacoby Percent could be your starter. Your list. Includes a free agents and potential trade options in the free agent category, talking to Kevin Bowen from one of 75 the fan about who's going to be the quarterback for the Colts. You have Andy Dalton and Ryan Fitzpatrick, Cam Newton and Dak Prescott. By the way, Prescott in Dalton, both of the Cowboys mixture Boesky, Jamison and Jamis, Winston, and I think all those choices a crap and I love Fitzpatrick. I would adore fits Magic in Indianapolis. But none of these are good options for the Colts, are they? No, not at all. It's such a bleak list and again realistic option that Prescott is probably going to go back to Dallas anyways, and he would be the best name. On that list. So welcome to quarterback Purgatory and Antonio. I've said this often when you're in quarterback purgatory, its quarterback Hell when you don't know the answer, it is hell in today's NFL. And as a colt, you know, beat writer as a fan as someone that lived in this market for the last, you know, for my entire life. We're not deuce to this. You know, since the big nineties, the coast of really known who their starting quarterback is going to be or haven't had to think. Too hard about that decision, And now this is this is the reality at your end. So again, I posted those free agent names and posted those trade names. None of them are very ideal. You also got to think towards the draft, and if I were crisp out, I've been looking long and hard at that list. Then you've got the potential trade options, which include Teddy Bridgewater. Derek Carr of the Raiders. Sam Donaldson, the Jets Nick Foles, also with the Bears Jimmy Garoppolo, who made the big move Tol West Coast from the Patriots, Matt Ryan and the Falcons to Shawn Watson and Carson Wentz. Although there are some names and their of guys who can clearly play and some guys, so I think if they were in the right situation they could play like Sam Donald again. Man, Uh, except for Derek Carr, who I think could be a cult sky. There's no one here that that moves the needle is there. No, I don't think anyone that moves it to the degree that Stafford would have. I thought Stafford gave you a chance to potentially make a run in January. Now, you know, we obviously look in Kansas City in Buffalo, and there goes two teams are going anywhere. But The rest that group home with you actually think their car could make sense. But again, the Raiders have not floated their car out there Now. They haven't made the playoffs and last three years, so you never know with the Raiders, but still it's not like his name is on the trade market. Obviously, Carson went to the front brake. Connection played in N V P level, But you're gonna have to resurrect a big time career there and take on a pretty big contract because let's play terrible last season, Sam Donaldson, you know former top five pick Get him out of the New York market and just the dysfunction of the Jets. Is there something there? There is a level of risk that you'd be taking with all of these moves there. So again no one offers. You think ideal situation. I know the draft is difficult. That is the route that I would explore. So there's I don't know all the players in the draft and we'll get into that another time. But before I let you go Kevin Bowen from one of 75 the fan dot com You take a look at this list that you've put together and you realize My gosh. Maybe asking Andrew luck to come out of retirement isn't the craziest thing I ever heard. No, You are right. And your Jimmer say, um It's like talking, you know, uh, thinking about your ex, When was how we talked about is your luck so they have definitely, you know, thrown out the hay and Drew, are you? How are you enjoying Dad likes, but they definitely tried to make sure that The conversation doesn't go very far past that he knows what they think of him again. It's not a pestering annoyance by any means, but I don't expect and you love to be coming back. He does have one more year. Under team control. Jimerson spoke last week about okay, You know, it doesn't do the Michael Jordan, blah, blah, blah again. It's a lot of Jim just kind of being a hopeless Go to romantic with it all. "Let's continue with a conversation. You want to continue with your last question or discussion or you want to move on. Coach. I want to clear flock clarify a contract status for Jared Goff because I think it opens the door for discussions for for several of their players this year. His base is going to be $25,325,000. With a 2.5 roster bonus breakdown with the cap information of $27,825,000. He's midway through this contract, the salary drops to 10 million In 22, then goes up to 20 million in 23. So you know he's at midpoint off this contract. Four years 134 million, and we do know that the Rams made that move to be able to bring in a quarterback for new discussion, but also get that contract away from them, and they're still gonna be working on it. With lions. And of course, those numbers will add up in congratulations to Ryan's holder, and Bruce told her there the nephews of your great friend Ted Tollner, who are now in the agent business, but raises a question. What about Sam Darnel? The former USC quarterback was now in New York jet. How do you think that's gonna work out? And what does this say? About the position when you have AH, Player of the age of Tom Brady in the Super Bowl at 43 years of age. Well, I don't know what it says, except his phenomenal Tom Brady and the way he's been able to survive and protect himself and maintained conditioning and You know he's not a party or he's a He's a guy that worries about the game year around and take care of himself and family man. The whole package. And I'm not saying Sam Donaldson, either. But Sam Donald's been in a position where he's gotten hit more than normally. Ah Ah, Boxer might not fight as far as trying to pry become protected and Past the football and you know, personally between you and I, with a new coaching staff there and so on, and for the best interest of Sam Darnell's I'd like to see him move on. I'd like to see him get a good new position somewhere because I think he can play I watching, played us CSR and make many big great plays. I saw him win the Rose Bowl game by some of the place he made there. Ran around. He threw the football well, he played hurt. It's just a tough guy and a good winner. I think it's maybe a time for him to have a new home and a place for him to have a new start. And it might be good for the Jets, too. Babel have a new start to be able to have a new quarterback sold on the Jets. I would try to find a place for Sam Donald and the fire was Sam Donald. I want to get out of an expensive city right now and get somewhere where I can concentrate on football and I think he has a great career in front of him and go somewhere where he can really be respected and played. I don't know. I don't know where that might be. It could be the Washington Redskins. It could be a lot of places. But I'd like to see him going to start. I'd like to see him, I think is a heck of a player, and I think I'd be good for both. I think I'd be good for the Jets, and I think I'd be good for Sam Donald. So I don't know if that's gonna happen or not not saying that he couldn't play there and went for them. I just think that he needs a new location and he's a fresh start, and it needs a team that can give him support as far as on the offensive line. Coach. We're talking USC football and right now for this game coming up, Ah, week in one day if you will. Super Bowl 55 Ronald Jones, the USC tailback out of McKinsey, Texas. McKinney, Texas. 5 11 208. He was picked in the second round number 38 on the board had AH good career. USC did not have the type of of wraps if you will, probably a little bit fresher coming into the league. Your feelings about that. Only one player. Of course that s he could talk about for the Super Bowl. They've had players and about 40 plus Super bowls. Ronald Jones your feelings. You see him splitting the carries with Leonard for net. Give me your insights on Ronald Jones. Well, I really do. I really think that both created almost like lightning and thunder. If you remember when wrong when, uh, when Reggie Bush was their land and white was there it was. You got a real powerful type of running back and you gotta slick. Speedy type of back and Jones. I want to congratulate him toe for making this. It will be a part of his career that will never forget. When he goes back to USC and his other schools, people. The first thing they'll ask him is what was it like and He deserves it all. I think a lot of times the back, said USC over the last couple of years have learned reverse assed far as how to become a great running back. You're basically How did they current systems that are being run? Now? You're not utilized as much as a running back. You'd like s'mores, a pass blocker and a checkoff guy as far as the passing type of offense. So they get back into the NFL, and they've learned how to pass block and now they got to get back into what their God given Ah ability and that's Ah, you know, read the play and read the whole and then make the break and dart through there and get his many yards as possible and Get as many yards as you can't after the hit, and I think he's had a great job, and I want to congratulate him for getting to the Super Bowl. Everyone can't get their check. Was there so much talent now out there in the college ranks and the NFL? It's unbelievable. If you watch the Senior Bowl practice of the Senior Bowl game today, or if you watch the introduction of the team's playing in the Super Bowl, you hear about so many players when they say where they're from. We're from mid American conference is the Mountain West Conference..

"The latest with that story? Did bears have a shot? If I'm a bears fan, I would say this because I am a person. I'd say this are you do whatever you can get to Shawn Watson. I don't care. This gives away the pics anyway. Why wouldn't you give as many first round picks as you can to get this done? Oh, you need a quarterback. Hmm. They're unhappy. He's unhappy with them and seems like they're not like E. They listen, they said they're going to include him on their GM surge coaching search. They really include him. They don't care what he has to say. They're only they're only trying to cover up now the mistakes they made because he's mad. Otherwise, they would just go about their business hire who they want and say, the Sean Go play football. They told him an ownership level that they would include him, and then they didn't. So now he's gone public with it, And now they're trying to backtrack trying to include him trying TOC. He's the Star player who I think has a lot of leverage. I think he can force a trade from the taxes. I think it's gonna happen. I think it is, too, because I think that the Texan see themselves in a situation. Where the Jags I don't know what they're gonna do. Like I would say it's more likely the Dolphins and the Jets have two first round picks this year. You trade too, and let's say Miami specifically two first round picks this year. First round pick next year and to, uh I think that gets the job done. Maybe throw in another player if you want to, If they're sweeten the deal with 1/4 of fifth round pick or whatever, that's fine, but you have three first round picks. Where you get to this year. One of them's your own pick, which is very high. One of them's later in the draft, and then one next year, a first round pick next year and you get a quarterback. You gotta cost controlled coming is, you know he's still on his rookie deal quarterback into, uh, where you're saying to yourself, Okay. He showed some flashes last year. Maybe we could do something with him. It's not starting over. Right. You're getting a quarterback. You're getting a highly drafted, highly scouted highly touted quarterback into up to me that gets the job done. Look at the Jets. Two first round picks this year. Maybe throw Sam Donaldson. They're throwing a first round pick next year. They're not gonna be great next year, most likely even with two Sean The I would say that they're pig is going to be higher next year's draft than the Dolphins will be. Affair. I think that's fair. Yeah, So if you're looking at better picks, maybe you go. Jets. Same Donald's You get two first round picks Sam Donaldson next year's first, too. Why not? Yeah. And having those three teams in the first round the draft this season having two picks in the first round, Jacksonville, Miami and New York. I think that is the perfect situation for one of these teams to land to Shawn Watson now. All three of them. I think you could argue, are not quite as desperate for a quarterback for the future. One because they have the picks that are high in this year's draft. So you could assume Trevor Laurence and or Justin Fields or they have young quarterbacks to begin with. I get it. Everyone hates Sam Donald, but they still have a young quarterback. A lot of people are out on two already after one season. We still young quarterback. I think people are more out on tour. Sam Donald. Sam Donald 100%, Okay? I think there are still people who think that too. It could be a really good quarterback. I think nobody thinks Sam Donald could be a good quarterback. But the point that I'm making with that is that those air teams that Theoretically have a solution. We can argue how good of a solution is. They have someone who's young, who could play the quarterback position, even with Jacksonville in Gardner, Minshew. He's not not good, but you could argue they have a young quarterback. They could develop it if they wanted other pieces. There are teams that are going to be desperate. In the National Football League who don't have the assets. That Miami, New York Jacksonville had and those air teams, for example, with the news today of Philip Rivers, announcing his retirement They don't have a quarterback for the future, and they don't have a quarterback next season. Like the cold start running back to Kobe Burger said. No, and so, like a team, like the Colts, who are built the right way, who are ready to win, like that's a team with the Shawn Watson immediately becomes a Super Bowl contender. Oh, yeah. I agree to disagree with that statement. I agree with you. OK, so like the Colts are there you could take another team like the Pittsburgh Steelers, who through half of the season this year, they were the best team in the NFL. And I know at the end of the season, they were not very good. And it was pretty obviously the obvious. And I say it was gonna be football karma. You allow the team in week 17 to beat you to get into the playoffs. They're going to beat you in that wild card round Because you rested your starters. You could have eliminated them the week before. Susan, what's going on with Big Ben? Like like his big Ben and the Steelers in the path that they're on. Is that what they're going to do going forward? Or does it seem like the Steelers We have a lot of nice piece is already in place. Make a move and try and land to Shawn Watson. Big Ben Looks like he's been done for a few years the way he limps around the field, But then he always comes back to me, either for 400 yards in a game, you know, like he looks. He's like, lumbering around limping around. He doesn't look right and then he hurls it down the field. They're scoring 30 points tonight. If I'm the if I'm the Texans, I'm sending three you of text messages. Okay, That's what I'm doing. All right, and you up. The 33 teams,.

"You Got your business is too good Just to you know, you know, go to the XFL. He's gonna be on somebody's team and be it as a backup. Yeah, I feel like there's all kinds of moving parts at the quarterback position this offseason. I think you're right. Because Sam Darnel of the Jets you mentioned him earlier. I wouldn't be surprised of the Jets, you know, try to do something with their draft position and do something maybe do trade or something? Because I just don't think Sam Darnel is a quarterback for the future for the Jets, and the Jets have a new coach coming in yet out of doubt it up, But there's gonna be a big I think you're right. Jack. Think there's to be a big switcheroo and a lot of these quarterbacks. Yeah, but I just for just I don't even know why I feel like I need to defend Sam Donald, can we strike the year under Adam gaze away from his record? I'm on your side. And that Sam Donald who I think You know, it was a surprise. He was in that draft with Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen. Josh Rosen just rose. And you're right. Nothing good. So, Josh, you know, out of those that out of that draft, he was my guy. Yeah, I just thought, you know, I'm going to miss those style quarterback. U C l A. I remember in college. He was the guy who tried to move the hot tub into his dorm room. And I was like, this is my kind of guy right here. Even morals alone. He was your faith. He's living the pro life there in Los Angeles. Mel coppers know. Like Sam Donaldson Proper says he's gonna be the quarterback. It's what I was saying. I like Sam Donald, I think that he was probably you know, consensus by a lot of people thought was the best of that group that year, and he just went to the Jets and never had a chance there. You know, I think he with Kyle of Shanahan in San Francisco. That's a real interesting scenario, and you could probably get him on the cheap. I mean, all of that said Why wouldn't the Jets just keep him Because you're the Jets? Because you're the Jets, and I mean, you have the number two pick eyes is your your chance? Toe? You know, T o try again on another franchise guy. They're going to pick Justin fields, right? Oh, thank you know hard grimace on Justin Fields. You don't you know, I'm not sold on Justin Field. He doesn't You know that his his style of play and just how I would rate him doesn't excite me in the sense of Ah, quarterback coming out as it would to, uh or Trevor or somebody that I really think that I would be that jacked for two goes a good point. You know, the wild factor is not there to me with Justin feels he was very good quarterback for Ohio statement. I'm coming with you, but I don't think there's the wild factor there. As it was for two and others. I mean, what's the What was the last one that came out of? I'll state? What was his name? Haskins? Yeah, I'm just saying maybe it's the note. Okay, scheme there that maybe, you know, helps those quarterbacks Little bow for sure. For sure. I think that a lot of that, though you know that scheme is kind of trickled up to the NFL. Now, I guess the knock on Justin Fields is this making McShane who said this is that? He basically is a one re guy. If he doesn't if he doesn't Well, if he does, his first reads, not there, then he's going to tuck it and run, which I'll tell you. There's a lot of guys Mark Jackson. Who are excelling in the NFL who basically are doing that right now, Um okay, but it stopped. It just it feels is not on the same level is Lamar Jackson, Please? Certainly not athletically. Yeah. Okay. Of course. I hear if we want to know if we're sticking up for guys. I don't know that Dwayne Haskins. It has to be totally written off. He is he is. It is not because of a lack of ability is knucklehead. And if you can get somebody to slap the knucklehead in this out of him You don't think so, you think is I might agree with that. But I mean at how many how many attempted slaps to the to the dome to knock it out. Do you get in this day and age when that when that crowd of quarterbacks is still refreshing every single year? What was he that great in your mind that I mean to me to me, That's a real easy way these days to work yourself out of the NFL. Is by having this kind of baggage and a long resume, Maskell.

That is arguably the most important building eyes country. I don't so there. I mean, there is tougher security at some of our minor bases, right? So give me a break. Yeah. All right, let's go to the next training topping. The newspaper industry has been struggling for years now. But 2020 was like nothing the industry had ever seen. Newsroom layoffs across print, digital and broadcasting platforms more than doubled in 2020. With over 1600 jobs Cut That's up to 16,000. Yes, thank you, Ernie. You are good at your job once again, making sure the fax are brought to you on news and information. 5 70 Kayla if that is a jump of 200% from last year Okay. Well, that's uh, that includes all just continue for the distance. There was dead silence that includes high profile newsrooms like ABC News, Fox News, The New York Times and Buzzfeed not to mention Ernie Brown countless local newspapers, but not the best in radio. Radio Dallas We're still here. We've defied the eye right way are still here holding down the fort. Now that does interest me because I had heard That the New York Times actually doing better than they ever have before. Keep hearing That, too? Yes, no matter what Trump says. I believe the facts are that they've actually they're actually doing better than ever before. And we know that about CNN and all of them Now we've all also argued that once he leaves what Trump is there, gravy train is over. But Boy, does this Is this bad? If you're already struggling people I don't think people really understand. You know, I there is easy. You could easily criticize. Any of the networks. You can criticize newspaper. You could be critical. I am extraordinarily critical of them, but never heard you talk about them once, But I think there's going to especially newspapers. There's gonna come a day when everything's online. No, there will be nothing delivered to your door. Yes, and the newsroom's gonna be four guys. That's about it. And then I'll be 25. There will be 25 because they were cheap and we could hire him right out of college. Blaming hard core Lefty's people are gonna miss newspapers when they're going. You can. You can look at CNN Fox News There. Guys are younger than me that they have out there on the street. And it's not because they're great. Still one of my great what a great moment you could have in life was in the eighties, when you could get the Sunday Dallas Morning news and read the sports section, which was about the size of a phone book, which also don't exist anymore. No, It's just like that now it's a leaflet. But also here's the sad thing, and this is so dumb, but it seems like we don't care about what's going on locally anymore. No, it doesn't just carry about the The stuff that really doesn't affect our daily lives. Where is local newspapers and stuff like that? Actually cover your city council and things like that and kind of Hold them accountable in a way your local government, whereas that's not going to be a thing, local governments just going to be doing stuff and you're not going to really know about and you'll have to find the website some underground website. Some guy really legitimate loves it. Who's sitting there in his underwear just typing away. Yeah, not everybody is terrible. Now not everybody is that they are but still there, but still look, I look, I I know, I know. I know that in this business, the networks I will tell you to the day I die. Stop watching. Food Fight: How 2 Trump Proposals Could Bite Into School Lunch

"Two new is now that the trump administration is working on a pair of rule changes to reduce what it calls fraud in a big government program but as in pairs Corey Turner reports hundreds of thousands of kids will lose access to a free lunch at school for change number one the trump administration is targeting the supplemental nutrition assistance program known as snap or food stamps Sonny Perdue the US secretary of agriculture told reporters that states have been too generous with the program some states are taking advantage of loopholes that allow people to receive the snap benefits who would otherwise not qualifying for which they are not entitled by tightening the rules the government estimates more than three million people will lose access to food stamps now what's that got to do with the free school lunch program it depends on who you ask the truth is the real impact of this rule on school lunches is virtually zero that Sam Donaldson policy director of the foundation for government accountability he testified earlier this month before the house oversight committee but at the same hearing Dianne Sullivan told a very different story without snap in addition to having less food at home my sons could lose access to free school meals Sullivan is an advocate with the group witnesses to hunger and has two sons in high school not everyone can agree on at least one fact here food stamps and free school lunch are separate programs but for millions of kids they're connected that's because years ago Congress worried that many low income kids weren't eating at school simply because their parents hadn't filled out the paperwork so lawmakers throughout the paperwork telling school district any child in a family that gets food stamps should automatically get free lunch so what happens to kids when their families lose access to food stamps well the trump administration
