Advocates For Deaf And Blind Laud Netflix's New Playback Features
"Netflix recently announced it's rolling out a new feature that allows some viewers to stream their favorite shows or films, slower, half speed, say or faster. The feature, which is currently on Ly, available to Android users, adjust voice pitch to make the faster slowed down speed. Sound natural. The idea to criticism from directors like Judd Apatow, who said last fall that platform should leave content as it wass quote intended to be seen. Advocates for the deaf and blind are lauding the new feature, saying It's a win for people who rely on playback options so they can also enjoy the cinematic experience. One of those advocates as ever it bacon. He's a board member of with the National Federation of the Blind, and he joins us from Salt Lake City, Utah. Hello. Thanks for joining us. Thank you for having me. So for those who who dont know for someone who is blind, How do you watch films or TV shows? So we watch films just like anybody else on Ly. We have what's called audio description. Our audio description narration that's going on while the programming is being viewed. And so basically when there is no dialogue between the actors, a narrator comes on and describes what's happening in the scene and what's happening in the the show. So we have an understanding so like they might describe The set What's happening around us? They might give us some gender information or race information about characters, just overall things that help us. Understand and comprehend what the creators were trying Tio portray to the general public. And so how does this new playback feature assist with the viewing experience? Well, blind individuals. Many of us use a screen reading technology on our computers and our phones. And we have learned and adapted over time to speed that up on a regular basis. We've also been listening to audio books for years as a member of the National Federation of the Blind. I've been listening to audio books from the library for the blind for many years, and we've always been able to speed up that process because we're listening all the time and in our our ears that kind of trained over time to listen at a quicker speed and so allowing us to do the same thing on on on a show. Like a documentary or some type of other content. It really helps the whole lot. When when you're trying Tio consume such great content in mass quantity. And why is it so important? You mentioned that you've been doing this in other platforms. Why's it so important on a streaming platform like Netflix? Well, I think it's very important because I'm going to watched a lot of content just like anybody else. And honestly, I've been listening to so many things all of my life that when I listen at regular speed, sometimes it can sound a little slower than it that it should. And And so I might. My years kind of wanted a little bit more faster as a blind individual. Because that's what I've been used to listening to my computer, listening to my phone listening to audio books, so it's only a natural process that I would want the speed to be a bit faster on the streaming content that I'm viewing on Netflix or other platforms. You know, as I mentioned earlier, there are directors actors who have pushed back saying This playback option distorts their art and the way it was intended to be consumed. How would you respond to them? Well, I would say to to someone like Director Judd Apatow, who is a person who I love the the programs that he's put together, and I've watched several of his films, There is so much information that they have put out in their content. That audio description allows me as a blind individual to comprehend and observe on DH two Having that speed feature. It just allows me to do better understand and better comprehend what they were trying to portray in their creation. I love a lot of Judd Apatow's work and I think if he understood me is a blind individual and how I consume content, he would be applaud this new feature by Netflix

Hurting for Money
"Hi, guys well from Beautiful Salt Lake City Utah. It's thank God I'm atheist the podcast I'd Frank Feldman and I'm Dan Beecher and coming up on the show today. Dan. Giving out money. Just. Thrown around. Making it rain. I WISH I mean they're doing that for some. I don't know my my my. GIG economy unemployment insurance is is winding down and I don't think I'm going to get any more. So Oh, I'm not excited. About that. But no, I know the the yet the government has found a very worthy repository. For a bunch of our money, our tax money, and let me tell you dear listener. You Ain't GonNa like it. Yeah. Yeah. Not Not a good look. We'll be getting to that. But in the meantime, Dan? Yeah. There's some new psychological research Dan. Okay, that seeks to. Link, atheism. To something and I wanna I wanna I I'm curious. To hear your response. because. Is. It is it. Is it linking. Atheism STD's because that just because we're all sluts. No. In fact to. Emotional suppression. Oh Oh. Oh. Yeah. I duNNo. I feel about that. This is what I'm saying. They did. They did this research on a group of one thousand, fifty, nine undergraduate psychology students. Surveyed them right and they about their religious beliefs and had them complete an assessment of their emotion regulation tendencies, right? Okay. and so about half the participants. Were Christian thirty percent agnostic or non religious fifteen percent identified as atheist and. The remainder was A mix of Muslims Hindus Buddhists Jewish. And then apparently a smattering of others. But Yeah. So what they found is that the self identified atheists. were. More likely to report engaging in emotional suppression meaning. They were more likely to agree with statements like when I am feeling positive emotions I am careful not to express them. K which which is interesting They also took eight atheists an eight religiously affiliated undergraduates They were recorded. As they described a recent experience that made them feel frustrated or annoyed. And a recent experience that made them feel happy or joyful and. A hundred undergraduates watch those videos, right? Okay and they they watched it with audio turned off. And they they re they raided the speakers emotional expressive, nece, their trustworthiness, and they're like ability. Okay and they just based on on seeing them not here. Just watching them talk and tell the story that was an emotional story. Right. Interesting And they had absolutely no idea about which speaker was atheist or Catholic or whatever. And they found that the the atheist were seen as less emotionally expressive on average when compared to the religiously affiliated individuals. Interest. And so they say, let's see this is the researcher. Speaking says compared to non, atheist. which includes acknowledged sticks and the nonreligious as well as believers atheists are not more likely to manage their emotions by thinking differently about situation that was one of the I'm sorry there was this other thing where they. Tried to assess. After, you've had an emotional experience like. Do you try to reassess the emotional the emotions that you felt and the how strong those emotions were right. And so you're saying that the atheists are not more likely to manage their emotions by thinking differently about situations atheists are more likely to resist expressing their emotions however and people. Noticed this even if they don't know someone is an atheist.

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall Is Working on Five Areas of Police Reform
"More about policing here in Salt Lake. And thanks for coming back again today. Uh, so it's all it's all been, you know, the policing black lives matter, de phoned the police. You all been up in the air, and I saw a story that you were. You had been talking to Ah Salt Lake police and working with them and talking to them about some things that might be done. To improve policing in our city. What's going on with that? There's a lot going on with that. Right now. We have to put together the commission on racial Equity in policing, which is community members, background experiences across the spectrum. It all wanting to see a reform in Salt Lake City Police Department and generally profit nation. But we've tasked them with looking at Salt Lake City Police Department budget culture and policies and then bringing recommendations over the next months and even up to a year. Back to the City Council on myself to make improvements in Salt Lake City government when it comes to policing, But right now and simultaneously we've been working on some police policy reforms. That includes use of force. We're looking at Camden, New Jersey, on the FBI and mother really progressive policies nationwide around use of force. No knock warrants. Another one. We are numbers are already quite low compared to other departments. And they have decreased in the last few years. But we still want to look at the policy to see how we can improve it to further tighten down on instances where no knock warrants or used our body camera policy is pretty extensive. But we want to improve transparency around. How and rather why officers disabled and increase potentially the consequences for officers who disable their body camera. There's consent to search On. We want to increase our transparency and make that more clear. There's some forms that we give. People were supposed to give people. When a police officer is going to search, we need to make sure those are readable. But they're translated if necessary, that their clear to the public There's several others, but I'll posit there and see what your doctor I wanted to ask about is their eyes there anyway, to deal with the fact that the police are often called upon to do things that they really Shouldn't be doing to deal with mental health issues, for instance. Yes, absolutely in the police has been Over the last many decades really over my lifetime, at least with the de funding of mental health on the lack of support and access from many people. Even most people across the country to adequate mental health support services so police officers become Therapist they become marriage counselors fails to become Park rangers and other forms of not what we would normally called policing in the past. And I think our officers were also appreciate not being being called on to do the kind of work that isn't necessarily policing work, so We're looking at how we might be able to use our eight social workers that Aaron, the solid city Police Department, which is something unique to our police department, compared to others Round ST How can they go out with that? Because they go into corresponded model with an officer. How can they go out in a way that it doesn't trigger individuals who are in mental health crisis? Helping. What's the appearance of
Fresh update on "salt lake city" discussed on The Duncan Duo
"There. Make sure to follow us on all of our socials. We're at the Duncan duo. Um, on on instagram, Facebook, YouTube Twitter, Um and and so is a pandemic a good or horrible time to buy a vacation home. I think a lot of people are determined. It's a great time to buy a vacation home because they've been cooped up in their house for so long that they want something new because we're seeing more people buying second and vacation homes here in Florida now. If you ask me, Is it a good time to buy a vacation home in Salt Lake City? I don't know The answer to that. I do know it's a good time to buy a vacation home in Tampa Bay because prices are still going up. Interest rates are low on our real estate market and economy are really, really, really strong. However, the thing that you have to take into consideration to measure your risk is what is going on in that local economy. How many of the you know home buying and selling public is unemployed. How many businesses air closing? What's there to really mean? All that stuff really, really, really matters that trickles down to real estate here. It's going pretty well in other parts of the country. It may not be so. The one you know the one good part about our you know about our response to Corona viruses. That has been very much pro economy so it so it has helped fuel Real estate moving in an increasing value. Increasing number of homes sold environment which which helps so it makes it a safer bet for you to buy a, um You know, at vacation property. Now, One of the good parts about everything going on is low interest rates, right? So if you're buying a second vacation home It's still really cheap money, right? Yeah, it is. It's becomes a lot more affordable. The affordability is way up. You could buy a second home, You know? Still, with the relatively low down payment, you can buy a second home with 10% down on and a lot of people think I gotta put 20 or 30% on. You don't need to do that. You can buy it with 10% down, so it really is affordable and with interest rates so low You know, people realise, While I could just, you know, purchase a place that that'll be mind that I could go on vacation, too. And while it isn't his complicated as some might think to get a mortgage on a second or vacation home There are a few extra steps for people. It's a little trickier getting a mortgage on the second of vacation home compared to a primary residence, right? Yeah, it is. There's a little bit more that goes into it. A lot of times. One of the biggest things is it's in an area that maybe you aren't in So you know it's out of state or it's across the country or whatever it may be. You know, we have a lot of people buying second homes here from other parts of the country from the northeast from even out West and everything else, and that's why it's so important to work with. You know the Duncan do on professional agents that can walk you through those steps, and so sometimes that's that comes to play into it. It's not that it's you can't overcome it, and we have a handle and again. If you're working with professionals, that becomes no problem, But there is that extra layer. You can't just run over to the house because it's across town. You know, during the process to meet somebody for an inspection or whatever it may be. On and there's their few actually things, but in the whole, it's very similar to buying a regular home. Yeah, And and the the the process of, you know, in the process by the vacation on people are way whether or not they're going to rent it out. Maybe they're going to rent a seasonally a month of the time. Airbnb v r B o So the pro about you know your vacation almost you could make some extra You know money? Here's the downside to it, though. There's obviously local economic concerns. But you also have challenges with homeownersassociations making changes about whether or not the allow Airbnb or v r B over short term rentals. If you're buying in a homeowner association community, and then secondly, some of the eviction moratoriums. You know, across the country vary on DH could at any time get extended or changed. And and so what That means is, you know your rent your house out. Somebody doesn't want to leave and you're kind of stuck. Getting no money, and by the time you do, get your property back, you've lost months and months of income so that the eviction moratoriums and then the subsequent after the moratoriums, heir listed The blaze in the judicial system because of how few hearings they're doing and and the fact that there will be a record slew of addictions. Once all this is over, we'll take a long time to get through. So that's the risk that you're taking. If you're going to rent it out, you know is is that You could ultimately be stuck months without rent and a freeloader sitting in your house, you know, and you can't even go there to enjoy it. You bought it as a second home. Yeah, I would. I would say if you're buying a second home vacation home right now, because that is such a hot topic with the eviction, moratoriums and The backlog of what's going on is you may want to, even if you have an idea that I'll rent it out for a month here a couple months there, you may want to hold off a little bit of time before you're doing that to make sure you understand what's going on in your local area of where you're doing it. You had no question about it. So let's move on to another top mortgage rates, man. They just continue to bounce off of record lows, right? I mean, we're hovered in the low threes, you know, in a lot of the loan products that I'm seeing crossed my desk for closings, and it really is Remarkable from two vantage points from the 1st 1 It's remarkable that people don't realize how much they could save by buying on a monthly basis because they're out they're renting. Um, it's also remarkable about how far your income Khun go. I mean, you know, and I'm not going to get into too many specifics, but But, you know, we had recently had a teacher buying what I consider to be a pretty expensive home for our area, and they qualified because interest rates are so low, so don't don't hesitate to reach out Mike which you guys is contact info. Your phone number, reach out these guys because you'd be surprised at how much further your money, Khun go on a house and it cannot rent you really would be with how low rent straights are. Yeah, We've had a lot of people calling in from the show and you can always reach us at 8133772743 Again, it's 8133772743 or you can go online to cross country Tampa all one word cross country Tampa dot com..

"Hey every. Tag is well from gorgeous, a little still too hot SALT LAKE CITY UTAH. It's thank God I mean kissed the podcast I'm Frank Feldman and I'm Dan Beecher and coming up. On the show today day on. Trump about trump and we're. GonNa talk about White Evangelical. An article that we both read About, maybe why? Why Evangelical did vote for trump? And it's not for the reasons that liberals like to think so I think it's actually It's an interesting take and one worth talking about if even just if it's. Just sort of as a as a discussion about what America is Nyu. We're that way and. Don't expect it to sound good. Don't don't expect us to come out. Rosie on this one. Oh, Americans America. Yeah America has a concept. People. Artistic. Ship has sailed trae yeah, I think I think we all know Diane got problems. We're not in shining city on the hill or whatever and. smolder smoldering. Shit pile and the devil. We're the tire fire that stinking up the place. Off. Had to be American. Oh, it's fine. It's fine. The other ones who are ruining America right now we're. We're the good ones. It's nice to assure oneself. All right Dan yeah. What are you? Win Covid nineteen I hit. Twelve years ago twelve. Going on thirteen. Did you have any thought about what it might mean for relative Religiosity in America like. Did you think that maybe people might kind of the fence sitters might. Find Faith. Again was thought that that maybe you had I had this thought. I'm just one to two. I know I didn't think that I have given up predicting in the universe because. I'd starting with the with the twenty sixteen elections I have now realised. I have no handle on what human beings do yeah, and it'll just go left every time I think it's GonNa go right well I think a lot of people probably did think like I did where your? Sort of this impulse right that people who who weren't really. They just didn't go to church right, but they still maybe Kinda. SORTA believed in God and so maybe those people would would return right, and we may be an up an uptick. In America in sort of religious observance and whatnot. Well it turns out. that it is the exact opposite. Wrong or at least according? To the state of the Bible survey. That was just released this last week by the American. Bible Society. It was the tenth such survey that they've done. They started in two thousand eleven right. Okay, and they look to see. How many America what percentage of American adults are consider themselves to be? Sort of scripture engaged right? Metric but the they look at how frequently people read. The Bible. And Sort of how? Nobody's ever read the Bible. And what what they consider its impact on their relationships and choices are right sure in the six months span. Between January and the end of June. Yeah. The number of scripturally engaged Americans dropped from twenty eight percent to twenty two point seven percent. Wow, that's thirteen million people who previously. Went to scripture? To seek solace or or a? For better living or whatever. Who stopped doing that just basically were like Oh. This thing doesn't do anything. I mean it's hard to read into exactly what it is i. mean the article kind of speculates Lake. Is this just because they don't have time? Because these are people who got kids at home and a job that? You know telecommuting on. You know like like it. Just people being really busy, or is it potentially? What's? More likely in my mind, which is what you're saying at least to a certain extent, right and no matter what these are people who had a habit. These are thirteen million people who had the habit of going to scripture. Have broken that habit and her going, maybe because they've lived this long, not. You know without the impulse? Maybe
Mormons Shirk Leaders Request to Wear Masks
"Going to start with. A story about the. Church of Jesus, Christ of Latter Day saints the Mormons the Mormons. From which we done sprung headquartered right here in Salt Lake City. Yeah, they have the church. Leadership has recently. They sent out a letter to all the numbers. In Utah. This wasn't like directly from like the president of the church. The Pros at himself yeah wasn't even from like the quarter of the twelve, and this was from the area presidency. So these are the assistant regional manager was saying. No literally the regional manager Oh. Yeah, it's the regional manager. That's the regional manager. So the management of the Church's Grassley Saints sent this letter out asking. Members to of the church to wear masks in public yeah, and to be good citizens. And to help the health and Welfare of all. Now before before you go any further. I want to point out that Mormons in general. Are. Obedience driven humans they are. It's an authoritarian. Religion it is one. It is a top down. Do not question the authority religion right, but in a lot of ways sometimes I think the church knows when to be quiet and knows when not to be right like well. They say things that they know are going to go over well, right? this If you know anything about Utah and our general response to Covid nineteen. It. Hasn't been going. In fact in a lot of ways. It's been problematic. The we've got that strain of like right-wing nutjob here in the that. Doesn't. Want to be told what do right. Yeah, in fact and this choice I actually saw something on a related story that had a picture of a mask that somebody had written. My Body my choice. Yeah. So clever. None the less so. And of course the UTAHNS. Stripe tend to be Mormon right. And So. This hasn't necessarily gone over well We, basically we haven't seen more people wearing masks because of this church urging people wear masks what has caused people to wear masks or national chains like Kroger and Wal Mart etc target, also saying that you have to wear a mask in their store. Okay, well a finally finally right and Salt Lake County soon as salt lake. County was allowed by the state to to put in a face mask like rule like law. Right eight a mandate. Order I guess actually probably There was almost like immediate compliance. It was amazing. It was overnight like it wasn't one hundred percent. Obviously. Break the places that I go. It was a noticeable and dramatic difference. Right and that's that's what these things do. You or you place an order? Put an order in place in people comply will nonetheless. Then work with the LDS church. They really are out of touch with their their membership on this. This. This multiple times we saw this when the church provided you know. When they brought a bunch of missionaries, home provided instructions for people. The how to you know what they were to do? When they picked their missionary up, which were summarily ignored, yeah. I? Honestly, it almost is like the church feels like at this point to be the Crotchety old man on the block, right or like grandparents right like maybe not the credit made actually just your grandparents. Who just like? Oh, come on, you're just. You. Don't know what you're talking about right? That's almost like their reaction. The membership reaction at this point of. They. they don't know what they're talking about. And if GRANDPA like really gets mad and insists everybody'll roll their eyes and comply, but like right, which is going to church. They have to wear masks when they go to church, right. It's so funny they won't do it. They will not do it with just out in public on their own. It's amazing and you know when when that news hit I have, course went to very mormon sources like the Desert News, which is the church owned newspaper. And I went I jumped right to the comments section because I wanted to see what was happening. Are they accepting this or are they rejecting it because it's literally like the the organization that they believe the most telling them to do something that they have? Four squares set their mind against and. It was shocking to see how many Mormons because Mormons don't disobey the brethren. They don't yeah. So many Mormons going. We'll do from the Prophet so I. Don't have to listen to it. Yeah, looking for any excuse, right? It was amazing to me.

That's that's why no, maybe you're trying to make the game more interesting. Do you want me to fight you? There as a non all star, potential podium guy every week and Sixteen yeah. I texted burner my displeasure already. got. Seal of approval from burner yesterday. I said how we look in. I need I need some real. Solid advice here because I'm doing well and fantasy and I'm all in on your eyes and just don't steer me wrong. And he said we're good. We're going to be good. So. Yeah, there were several texts fired off as the checkers were waving. Any. Any about me? No because crashing happens. It was more about I couldn't figure out what Blake was doing. Better I used to play fantasy pulp, Amax, fancy and I hated the point of Benny. Though was like okay, you're you're looking good. You're catching dino, but you for third. That's gotTA. Be Weird. You make a mistake. No problem from there. Yeah, it needs to just bring it home. It's just brought home for seven or eight ten be stoked. I've ever been in that position. Steve Okay well one four Manitoba title, so maybe you can talk to me. One most fantasy points I. Don't know I'll have to ask. Chavis marks on that. For the whole year we had, we had the writers. gathered. But I. Don't know how. The top and by that reminds me so talking about twenty twenty was terrible. It was the year of covid shutdowns and all this kind of stuff, but it really wasn't your Chis- where he just. Doesn't. It doesn't.

"You can go buy. You're going to get tired could not understand why. He went so slow to their Sunday and he was doing it again here, and then all of a sudden minutes to go. I'm like. Oh, he's just now going really fast in the whoops and going fast quarter like he just literally turned it from the worst part of the track for him. He didn't midway through a race. He didn't really give him my answer. In the press conference I wanted, and that's fine. Whatever but I I asked him. What changes in you like what happened? WHAT GOES ON AND It's a little bit mentality and Blah Blah Blah, but I don't think he I don't think he could answer that I really don't I think it's an just an innate. Quality, he possesses that. You know it's like what? Sports, writers would call the clutch gene. And we all make fun of that, and it's such a debated topic of whether gene exists. But I think that's as close as you're going to get to it in our sport. Is Great. Did you notice the? Did you notice how much better he got from the whoops through that left-hander? Oh, no doubt! Yeah! He and he talked about it on TV. A figured out the line in the whoops now and. Yet in that corner. Now that you mention it I think if Tomac figures out the inside line. You had wins. Because Cooper was just killing him there, he would real man, and then you could just see. Coop would pull out ten feet back out, and it just undo all the good Don everywhere. Yet Tomac. Actually mention that he was having a conversation with his dad. WHO's GNARLY on the way back on the track? Realizing that he probably should have tried to not hit that triple quite as fast so he could go could have gone to the inside probably would work better. Visually see if you can visually the gap increase it had to be. It had to be really disheartening for Tomac, but I'm I think I'm more surprised that Eli didn't changes line because these guys are so intuitive and. You would have thought he would see the gap increase there and try something different. but he just stuck to that that outside line, so yeah I don't know if you got stuck in a Rut sometimes mentally just get walked into a line and can't really break out of it, but he seemed like he was flowing so well and was so in the moment I I was kind of surprised to see not changed up. I starts to God awful the last two races he's got. The, right? We thought they were fixed. We thought they were. This is a matter I mean. He got second. Would that God awful start but man? We just How bad his starts are or the fact that Web did not whole. Shout that main event with the. had. Absolutely annihilated at why I know, you didn't get to watch on TV of weeds you did and he just annihilated everybody out of the gate, and then somehow through the I just kind of blow it. Yeah he he tried to. He breaks you early in the first turn, I think he wanted to control the inside, and then Zach just rolled road ride around the outside of them, and instead of being I, and I think I think honestly if he starts I. It's a very easy race for him. Because he would he I think he had a little bit more pace control. The race and I would never really gotten close. but it just shows you little things like that just breaking a little bit too early in the first turn. Can Change your main event from being pretty easy to be in a dogfight all the way to the end, I just figured it out. Yeah, I just went back and watched it I can remember which races which in the heat race. He also pulled an unbelievable whole shop, but a kind of rare for Cooper. He blew the first corner. Flew into the outside. Yeah, so I think he came into the main saying. Don't do that again at any. Actually backed it up too much. Yeah! Osborne's go getting so close and you know like. You think about that. Obviously, the Loppers hurt him a little bit because he's the first guy to get to them I think that, wasn't. He? Didn't get through as smooth everybody else. In part of that is because he's in the front and he's the first guy and also like. If you're Osborne you lead twenty laps, or whatever whatever he led, the official results posted yet from the and this could be. A hashtag never change, Ama or I wonder if they're looking at something, because e-. Official results are not up. Most likely it's never change Ama most likely, but but but anyways. Osborne makes one mistake again third. Like just just a small little thing came in hot. Almost lost the front end gets third leads all those laps. You know you gotta think. It's webs. Big webbing patient though I really believe that I think he's trying hard. I don't think web is. You, know intentionally just waiting back on. All I'M GONNA. Let Zaka we'd for a while. I think it's just when. It really comes down to it, and it really gets serious and website Holy Crap Tomas here. I think those to just have an extra one percent. That Zach doesn't have yet in. The only other person I think in the class that may be. Has it at times Kenny, so don't take that as a negative Zakho when you listen to this but I think just when it really ramps up in there. They have to go flat out at the very end. They just see might have an extra one percent right now, and that seems to be a little bit too much for Zach. Win It matters right halfway to the race. It's fine. But it's like when they go flat out, and it's everything's on the line. They just have a little bit more. Yeah. I can't argue with that as much as I would like to I. Mean that does sound agree I don't think it's just a coincidence of steak like. Those guys, were you know there was something extra that Webb had just wasn't using it. And after Zach gets passed the last few races here he loses the edge right. He loses it like he doesn't stay right there. It's just it's a higher level of intensity than he's quite ready yet for. I don't I don't necessarily think that Web can. Can break it out. It will right I. Don't think he can just wielded when he wants to. I think it almost has to be a forced intensity. From behind him right? The adrenaline rush of Tomac coming. I think is really what makes that possible for him and sends him into his own where he can just go ahead and go past. Echo, enforce the pass. Because I think he would. He would love to get around Zach. Get away from all the fray if he could. But it takes that little bit extra. You know went. It gets to him that forces him by because you can see it happen all at once. He just like Oh my God. I gotta go I gotTA. Go right now just pulls out some. Really aggressive, really impressive pass when you've been waiting on it for the whole main event before. Figuring out unfortunately series, only one more race left, but yeah, it's cool to see really cool to step up here. Yeah, I mean. Look you don't how many great to fifty guys have come in multiple titles whatever making that leap. It's like fifty. Fifty at the guys are going to get there. He's gotta be feeling so much better now about I can be as you'd like to say. Steve, Agai. Yup, he's a guy no. Rocks and four Roxanne was on Zach a little bit at the end there, he couldn't get that rhythm down. I never saw him jump at once, but I talked to Brandon. Brandon said he did do it. I. Don't think he did it very much. It was like four tenths quicker according to couple of guys, I talked to three or four tenths quicker. And I never saw I. Never saw. Can you do it? Again said he did so. Give him the benefit. The doubt but. Her she. Did you guys think he was going to blast telemaque in the corner after the finish that lap? Agra blast if I know I I'm with you. It's not his style known just like if you're thinking of if it's ever going to happen. He doesn't have that angle until Mac where Tomac was absolutely vulnerable until Mak. Even force it into the outside Berm where he really opened the door of Kenny wanted to just punt him. And Yeah me true to form. Kenny didn't do it, and that's the class act of the way Kenny Rides,.

Okay so then. Just do that and I appreciate it and yeah, let's talk about the ratio. Let's get jt and weeds on the line. So as I promised, let's bring in the The two guys also joining me for this viewpoint Salt Lake City six cooper web chase sexton, big winners I up the Voice of Ama motocross series of Voice of Jesus. He is the voice of d'oro. Cross the Voice of Geneva, supercross voice of flat, tracking the Voice of Claude nationals. The Voice of anything that you pay them to do. It's Jason. Why get! Yeah. No one's paying enough for ME TO COME BACK TO UTAH. There was a moment though. I thought you were getting ready packing and boarding the plane. Yes I was already searching for the most expensive flood could have Justin Brayton pay for but first of all that. I didn't want to say his name. He's on a white number sixteen motorcycle. He should've pulled over and liberating lead and then blocked, but he didn't do it, and it ruined it true or false. You sent a text in our group. Tax Zach Osborne lap and a half in. It's at pullover for Britain I. Did I did I sent him a text he did. He didn't respond. He didn't respond. No, no, he's like on US motorcycle or busy racing. I would've responded. Yeah, JT water for sure. Jt Steve You know this in his racing days. Jt was incredible getting back to people, it was unreal. Yeah No, no, he. His sidekick never left his hand. I think he had hantavirus. It approaching. The like the point of being a problem. There was never a time where you jt and he's like dude. I was riding. No, no, no, no, no, no! Also Jt. Welcome to the show. Thank you. Need to jump in there I, wait for it for a minute and then if you don't give me by insurer, I'm just I'm coming in. Just forcing it in their talking, upcoming in your like sex and on mcelrath just I'm going to make it happen. What a race! What! I don't know how it was on TV Scott, it was what a race Anderson Rocks in Tomac Osborne Web, and they're within three seconds of each other five guys. Phenomenal race, just web of winning it but good job to everybody in that top five. Dude, it was it was exciting and this one did come across on TV I. Feel they were close enough. We always saying it's like two seconds on TV looks gigantic but impersonal. It's closed this time. It looked it looked damn close. It was great i. Mean what what else can you ask for? Multiple lead changes the championship favorite. Fair to say coming from the back, you have the championship drama. He needs one more pass to quench the title It had literally everything. everyone stayed saying if there were no big crashes, no one even Dns I mean even Alex Right, who got twenty second finished the race, so it? It had everything that you would hope for. Quite rice, and did you? Did you think Eli was gonNA. Get it done. Yeah, there was quite a while where I thought that I. Mean You just see how far he came out quickly and. This is interesting. I Dunno favorite discussed this, but there's kind of a weird thing with the results. He was listed as twelve on the first lap. Now I know we don't have the technology yet. Yeah no twelfth! Yes, well. Great Rod Ha spacex send astronauts up into space recently. They're actually hiring people to build a intergalactic space platform I read today. Okay. But the technology does not exist to take the information that can clearly be seen in the television show and I, said you guys screen shot. Saying back was nineteenth around the first turn. We cannot take that information and put it on the AMA website. We cannot do it. Can't do it listen. They said we would be on riding hovercraft and. There'd be all kinds of things true. Let's not get carried away at true, so actually came from what nineteenth to wait six or fifth like fricking immediately, basically, yeah? Also at some point, the point standings were reversed from the AMA right after the main event. That was awesome. That's never change, amy. please. Fortieth. As ING. But yeah, jt think going to get it done. I. Did you know what he was catching up? He got it to where he was only three seconds off the lead. And I honestly believe you know. Two things happened. One I think web was being patient behind Osborne until he couldn't be patient anymore. And then he picked up the pace, and then I think to. If that's not Cooper web at the front that WII easily gets it done the simple fact is cooper web is really strong and extremely good and very smart at the end of these racists. Bend it, you know, pick your pick of a writer if it would have been that writer till Mike we got him, but. I think Cooper's proven time and time again that the end of the race is really where physically and mentally he just shines at you know that that epoch mud race. A couple of weeks ago was really the only time I can think of where somebody's gotten the best of Cooper at the end of race. I just keep saying that, but it was awesome. was really cool to see those guys. House and Yeah. That rhythm section to Brighton busted. Thing that thing out. Kenny wasn't really doing it. Those guys figured it out to three three. Wrought after the triple out after the whoops that was that was a key thing. Guys had all sorts of different things going on there. You know what it was? It was interesting that the track was. Pretty good as far as being able to innovate on for being exactly the same track as last week or very close to it, I will say but very close to the same track yet. It didn't feel like it was exactly the same track if that makes sense. I agree totally right just the rain in the lower the rain overnight helped it, and then a couple of twists and turns. It did yeah. Yeah I didn't think it was either you know so. Osborne we, he's just. I. Don't know what he led twenty laps or something. No question, just just talk about it. Talk about it. Just talk about Osmar look I'm tired. It's late I'm not. I'm not really. I have one thing the night that I'm passionate about. Oh. I'll get to that I'll removing Aswa already done with web until ackward has done. No, no, no, no, you get back to them. Let's go to that. Let's stay on them. Then fine you. Run the show. Here's what impressed me about web and this actually ties into what jt was just talking about. The whoops, there were jump out of the state to jumps for a little bit different. And then there's a left after them and that left was different, but it was eighty percent the same, and what was bad, and that section on Sunday, that's Iraq's him and then the first half of this main event. He was bad in section. Who is not only bad on the whoops, but he was going into that left hand turn so slow and it. Can Greece that corner when he passed them on Sunday, but webb was also terrible in there and I was like. Why is he, does he? Is He messing rocks? And is he.

"A specialized Liivo e bike from the guys at specialize. If you just described racetracks, magazine so pretty good deal, those guys. Let's get into it. Shall we first up from headquarters somewhere remotely from Salt Lake City. He's Jason Wagon. What's up each? Yeah my in Salt Lake City. No remotely from Salt Lake City. Remotely in Salt Lake City. Remotely from Salt Lake City look this is so confusing. You're actually in Salt Lake. City didn't go to the race. Everybody is everybody's confused Yeah Yeah. I'm here. I didn't go the race. I gotta go get Covid Nineteen tested tomorrow morning, and I will be allowed to go to Wednesday's race and Sunday's race course. So looking forward to to that It was a nice triple got to see the basset. Hound got to see the wife. Got The mountain biking all that so I watch it on TV. I have some comments with the broadcast as well later. So. Also on the phone joining us is Jason Thomas. German supercross champion. What's up, jt? Not Too much I had a bounceback fantasy nights so I'm in a great mood. For this podcast? Good to hear absolutely good to hear I had my worst of the year, and I'm fine. I mean it's ox, but I'm fine. Hey, some people don't like losing. Okay all right well. I guess clearly clearly not. Wow! I Start Review Jt. I told rocks in my mountain bike stuff. We'll take a few days to kick in. And? Looks like I was right. Yeah I'm just GONNA. Just move right along on that because I can't handle when you grab onto the ridiculous things that never like Oh, it's. It's amazing what he did. The track favored him. I think this slick turns the heart pack a throttle control kind of stuff stuff that Kenny straight at, but I still can't believe. He just went off and ran off and hot ran away from this thing I think it was just fourteen days thing. He's been for fourteen days. Like a light switch he's on. I'm Gonna I'm just going to go with that. What unpredictable win like seriously. Wow! Yeah. I. Don't I don't know if you've ever seen bounceback like that especially since we had three races in a row where it was entirely predictable by. The Fayed was coming almost to the minute at the exact same time, and not even halfway, it was like eight or nine minutes, and then they go halfway was just crazy, but he did explain in the press conference that just finished We were in there listening. You know the shingles thing. I don't know anything about shingles except it's horrible, right? It's all you so bad due to forever to get over, and then he explained that he had a small spot that he saw. They got dock partner quickly got medicine for it. He thinks got it somewhat. Tamp down because they got on early so I was thinking like dude. He's going to be struggling with this for months here. He thinks he's a bit of a handle on it. So maybe we were a little off with how bad we thought this is going to be. Okay shingles or not. Yeah, that's not why he was doing what he was doing. Early, is it? That's not I didn't think his results were because Shingles Dang. That's gotTa Suck. I can't help oh! I thought the last race was what he was saying was. He started seeing at the last race, but the previous two races there was no mention of that. Oh so that was the asthma the breathing. WHATEVER THE HELL! Whatever the hell else? Yeah, she opinion anyways. That's what I took away from it as well right so. This is just remarkable. This this ride I mean he just. You know he just maintained that. Li I think he. Looked like he could push it a little more remarkably consistent. Think of another ride that. Where some guy was counted out in came in. I don't know I can't. Nothing comes to mind right now either one for you. Know Not that big of a turnaround like it. Doesn't you know there was weird? Remember Tomac could not race. Around two two years ago and then one. A week later true. If, everyone he wins the title I'm going to try to get to the bottom of what that day at a Houston was like he probably won't talk about it, but that was a pretty big turn around I think we don't know how I mean it was bad enough from not to race. It's been on. We've seen some bounceback rides from Chad read over the years. His head kicked in by STU. Are CNN comeback. Beat them the next weekend, but I I. Know What you're saying as far as health problems But I know the one the one caveat there is. It has not been a speed thing for Roxanne. If you watched him ride especially at the beginning of the main events. He is so unbelievably fast. It just wasn't there for very long, even when he even when he when he was. Yeah, it shouldn't surprise us that his his stamina just completely doesn't get out. He has that I was surprised to win. Win But. We've seen flashes right. You could see the writing there. You could see the ability. It was just like you're almost. He was on a countdown clock to win. It was going to strike back and thankfully for Roxanne in hot HRC did not strike at all. It's just a vampire dude. You just think he's done. He's not he rises. You just comes out of the coffin. That's it just I'll be. I'll be. I'll be Kenny. Rocks good track forum, though jt like I said. Heart Paks Lick throttle control those turns. It certainly favored his technique. He's GonNa. Whoops, which which are pretty difficult, and then he's just so precise with a throttle. He was getting in and out of all those flat corners, which many writers may comment about the flat corners, and how strange they were for the trend. But. You could just see how. As I said precise in how great his financiers riding is getting it out of those terms. Turn after he passed coupe. After the whoops and then. He hit that Rut unbelievable on one hundred miles an hour. Imperfect him, it was it was amazing. It was amazing. Great there rocks that particular laugh was. It was like. I gotta go. I don't know I. Don't know what to say, but the guy I mean. Yeah, he just continues to impress and when you think he's done and out like. It, the temperature was good here. It wasn't wasn't a heater. Track so suited him but I. Don't know I have a question. Right at Great Reid deserve all the credit in the world unbelievable performance. I in my opinion where with the best guy today, Are you. Really happy with this, or are you even more frustrated because of what's gone on for the last two weeks and you basically ridden yourself out of any championship chance. Kenny you're happy of your, Honda..
Risk of new lockdowns rises with fear of second COVID-19 wave
"You mentioned these states that are seeing these big surges right now Arizona Arkansas the Carolinas Florida. Texas Tennessee Utah, these are states. They're seeing big first surges. It's not a second surge or so called second wave. How exactly do we determine when it's a second wave for the country though? What's tricky about this? Is that like every place? Every city every state is going through its own corona virus break like sure they're interconnected and people travel from one place to another, but like the outbreak in New York City is on a completely different time line a completely different trajectory than the outbreak. Phoenix or Salt Lake City or Little Rock, and so as much as I know, people have come to think about things in terms of waves. We have a bunch of discreet different waves, ebbing and flowing all the time, and we can see that right now you know these days. The cases and deaths in New York City have been on a substantial decline for quite a while. Now you know they've seen the worst of the coronavirus, whereas somewhere like Arizona. That wasn't hit hard. The first time is now to your point seeing for the first time, a big surge in cases as the lockdown starts to get lifted. The virus hasn't gone away. Cova nineteen is. is going to spread. People are going to get sick and some people are going to die. It becomes a decision for politics and for society to figure out how much new covid nineteen spread is worth the economic reopening. What will be concerning is if we see a place like New York or Seattle or some of these places that have already endured a first wave if they start to see a big surge as they start their reopening process. That's when we're going to know that a second wave is really underway.

The best part is like everybody thinks that the stories we tell, and the things you tweet about our like kind of exaggerations. That's the best part and then you you live it. People think you're frustrated with the fantasy game, and then you sit on a couple of fantasy podcasts and people like seeing the why GAM. "Guys were on the ground like Lopes as down sexton's down like all these guys are down in the red flag out and just completely go back to zero and start over again, and there was a lot of a wild swing from that red flag or should say that. Stuff on twitter about people still questioning what who the NFL is. Way With the restart. counts. Doesn't count. It doesn't even exist. I'm with you. And you're not gonNA. Give 'em both ten. We'll Smith thing and you're. Not Exist anymore. Four fifty from Salt Lake City. Three top scores were low again. Mardi Davalos top score at thirty six points good job. Marty Logan car thirty four point two percent pick Logan car to make the main event on a to fifty. I don't know who you are. But good work. Brandon was next at thirty. Two mud is not JB's friend usually, but he put a solid race in together. Trying desperately, not the pass. Kenny walks in late, but he even I do thirty two points Osborne thirty two Chad Reed thirty to bag it thirty web twenty six. Thirty Twenty six so on and so forth. Picked trend. AP Forty. One percent. And everything else forty-one percent. AP Wasn't a great pick though. Turn out no. Thirty four percent for Tomac. Mardi was third at thirty three point. Seven Chad Reed was next at twenty nine point eight. Then Brock tickle then Dean Wilson. Team was I, missed all of those top scores, and my top-scorer was AP with twenty six again mutter he was up to seventh in the main event and looking good I think he went down and then finish just outside the top ten. Also Dean Wilson flying in practice. The he came from way back and he was an eight handicap star, so I got him at twenty sixty maxed out. My next I was brought. tickle who? Didn't look anywhere near what he showed of, and had to go the Q., and he got double points right at the end of the race I believe. Thank you, Brock tickle, but not ride that. You know he's GonNa. Get better. Yeah, he's going to be better and it's GonNa. Pay Off maybe this week. For the next race, so I could see myself going tickle for Salt Lake, city five because I think he'll just slowly getting better and my last pick was Fred and Orrin who? Yeah I was a thirteen, he. Knew he was a good starter, which would help in these conditions again? Conditions didn't get as bad as I thought, and he has some speed any Bush the whoops, one time and look great, and then eat never blitz them again and then Ryan breeze just threw it away and gave Freddie the spot and Freddie. Just puked all over himself just like babies. All over himself. That was that was after the heat when he was all by it. And they just throw it away crashing into whoops. Yeah all by himself. Up breese was racing with Freddie like into a turn or something. After? He was in leaving last lap. All by himself crash Freddie, but Freddie still shot. Freddie, had to do was just double through the whoops, when breese crash and he would have passed them, but he almost endo's feed off-the-peg, trying to double through the whoops because I think he saw breeze just lost. Okay, he he's absolutely lost it. He's lost all skillset all ability to think through a race. I was thoroughly disgusted with what I saw. So Fred no one was my guy..

It's Jason Thomas what's up jt. How are you not too much just? Waiting for you to finish your other projects that we could do this, it's these things are warning pretty tough doing on the same rate as a race. Listen Bro Grinding. We did nothing for eighty five days. I'm I'm okay. I'm here if I. IF I was upset, I would not be here also on the line. He's the voice. Of? Pro motocross championship seriously voice of Derek. GNC's Voice of quad racing, but he is no longer here in. Salt, Lake City, but he watch it on TV Jason Wagon. Yeah. Good race to miss nothing much happened. No, no not much at all. WHO UNBELIEVABLE UNBELIEVABLE! Why are you coming back? Man Even here now, media guys. Even being banned for attempting to talk to people so. That's not a very good sign of I'm going to get a lot out of this. Listen. You're the TV. Spotter for the first couple of rounds, and then jt and I were next to each other and now J.D. Spotter, so he's busy I am all by myself in the press box? Like literally sitting there. I got no one to hear my observations. I got no one to complain about to complain to. Which I normally do I got nothing I mean. Can you do complain a lot? Can you come out? I need to we need to. Somebody needs to do a survey. Who would be out? The nine hundred people eligible to go to this race? Who would be the person? I'd be available to be your sounding board your shoulder to cry on your backstop your bulletin board. You just need a body, right? You just need to ears I just. To laugh at my stuff. Come back with some. You know maybe making some across Joe. Come back at me and we're great. You know yeah, exactly maybe talking about Marty! Stuart, little bit yeah. It's it's depressing, look. Touched on a little bit there, so so our buddy don made from Swat Moto. Kicked out of the racist. Allowed to come in. Casualty. Cut GNARLY, but I mean to be fair. We got rules and he was breaking them. This isn't. Yeah. There's rules. So I gotTA JT. Yeah, I mean. Listen everybody there for the media y'all do the same thing right you go. You try to get inside information. What's happening? What did happen at the race? And then you report on? That's literal your job while they have told you do not go near. The writers do not go on the rigs. Do not break the rules, and this is so we can keep racing for the whole sport. This isn't because they want to be jerks or they're out to get you. This is so the state doesn't come down on them and shut the whole thing down. So if you break the rules, yeah, no mercy for you. That's that's on you to make your own decision, but when they tell you yeah, you clearly did this. You have posted videos of an audio of it. There's no denying whether you did it or not. Yeah, you should not be able to come..
"We got a letter that we're going to be reading. Get the letter realism. US Oh God. I am so. I wouldn't want to know the person. Who wrote this slumming? Horror. Some outlet and we're going to be talking about it Oh my God it involves it's it's got sex. It's got religion. It is ever. Or violence. It's got all kinds of the it's. It's guys magic. It's basically curses. A movie it would be are rated and Christians is A. It's a hell of a thing is a hell of a thing will be discussing that later on in the shield coming up later all right? I want to start with This article that I more about addressing the existence of this article right. That it brings up from the desert news. A local MARMON paper. Yeah the LDS Church owns a daily newspaper here in Salt Lake, city. And they There's their slant is obviously. Yeah. You guessed it. Pro Pro family pro faith. Mormons Pro Mormons. And, so they have I guess. Maybe this was an op Ed. Okay, but it's also just. Par for the course for the desert news sure The headline says as protests erupt. Christians ask what would Jesus do. She's still. Well again. I mean. If if he's your only moral touchdown. Then, yes, please ask what he would do. Right problem is everybody has a different answer right right? Yeah, exactly. You know in the article they actually. Reach out to Bishop. Marion Buddy the. She leads the fiscal. Episcopal Diocese of Salt Lake of Washington DC I'm GonNa tell her a little later on. Yeah, exactly so I won't ruin your story by talking about it too much, but anyway She was definitely very much in the news this last week. and they have a quote from her, and she says some people are called to be on the streets, and some people aren't. Some people are called to offer a supportive presence in one form or another, while others are just called to pray right as this is in reference to you know. Should you be out there protesting as well? Should you be out there? You know how? How. Are you being an advocate for? The African American, and generally the you know. Racial minority groups in this country right and you know like it's not like. The topic isn't an important one as far as like. Prodding. People religious people. Presumably conservative Christians right, who wouldn't necessarily be on the side of a lot of these protesters and asking them hard questions about. Where where they should be and what they should be supporting. I applaud that the article exists okay. I'm tired of this. What would Jesus still? We need guy arrest right like. seriously. Cancer because because look. There's there's one Jesus like you know someone in black lives. Matter might point out that Jesus. When he saw the money. Changers in the temple through Goddamn hissy fit turned over their tables and started smacking him started beaten our asses, so link hello. That's what Jesus might have done, and then somebody else might have said well Jesus would say that he was without sin cast the first stone. Right. So so Jesus against throwing stones apparently so. Very obviously. Can't you can't riot or whatever and. We can support all the positions fantastic. How is that useful to me right? Right, and it's just like again though there's this question of I, it's it just seems like a very morally bankrupt question to be asked first place because it just says that. A. Lake. You the person being asked this. You're supposed to just sort no right. But, but also it's that. You're having to to stop and think about this guy who two thousand years ago. Who if he? If. He lived But anybody who I don't care who they were right. Who lived two thousand years ago? They have no. Perspective. On our current situations would how big in this world they have literally. There from a completely. The time like like I'm sorry like like it's not like. Obviously. The human condition is is Doesn't change that. Right overturning like we're still dealing with a lot of. We have similar emotional lives, probably right ways and and we have the same wants and needs in those those ways right. We're still human beings. and so it's not like. Throw away any sort of. Ancient wisdom right but I. don't care what Jesus would do right? I literally fucking down I. Don't yeah, I don't care. How about what would you do and you should probably sort that out. If you were a good person, what would you do? That's the question. I think that's a really good question. If if you happened to be a decent human being if you could imagine a world in which you weren't the shithead that you are. What would you do? What do you think you'd do? That's the question. The question is. Yeah, what would you? Not Doing. Not should head version of you do. What of the letters on that? How do you get that on a bracelet? And as H. D

"How they're all out. If you picked sexton last week, you have the choice of two all stars I think mcelrath and No Shimoda macaroni March Banks Shimoda but Hampshire's out J. March. You have three guys. If you pick sexto. Three three J mart. Hampshire Will Hampshire. It'd be there. No, he will out Paul once again. He won't be even thought five calls because he's still gonNA. Have points I don't have any clauses. I have nothing. Okay so here we go so Jay, arts out. He's going to point out I. Don't have enough time in his podcast. Start yelling screaming. He's actually not going to point out, but someone's not good at math. Okay so. And and Lopes is out like you said, and then we don't know about. Nick Gains JT. Do you have gains update? As far as we gonNA goes. I don't I mean he was close to racing last weekend, so I would think in a few more days. Okay, so. Pierce Brown is number one question here. Potential podium guy. You pick them hundred percent. You pick up. Yeah, hundred yeah, I WANNA pick him. I don't think I can though JT. Pick. An automatic pick like Dan said. He's probably he's underneath. Has To say away. Okay all right I. Race he crashed was less than fifth and now J. Martyrs Out. That's one more spot I still. I still get scared every time I. Watch him because the kid cannot hit whoops. He can't do it. He tries to jump him. And then each is the bullets and he's in between like I don't know I don't know what his plan is. It's like he wants to do one thing and they decided to do something else at the last minute, and he does this hybrid theory. It's just a second abortion, so the number one controversy of the first round has been. He made the first main. He went from sixteen to fourteen. Yeah, he got twentieth. So is he still kickable? All Day he's. He might be my lead pipe lock. Do I don't know? What do you mean I? Mean okay, so when he gets in the main event like jt said he was up there for a long time was. I don't remember ever being up there I wasn't watching closely, but JT, wasn't he? In the mix for? Not In the mix is correct, but he was in the top fifteen for half the race. I want to say so naira. Well I. Hold on I three laps. He was eleventh. He went from eleventh to twentieth ninth. To Twelfth to Fourteenth. Got Worse from I four laps. He by like way before halfway. He's done. It was like riding on the start straight. So what I'm saying is if you get him. He's not going to put it past. Say Seventeenth Sixteenth. Yeah. Take that he's. Taken, sixteenth, yeah give me that all day he's. He's a lead pipe lock. No one's going to score more points in that. Yeah. He's on my team, so here's Brown tonight on your team now. I can't pick Chris Brown but. Cody shock, Sinai and Lorenzo Remedy. Pick Shock. You can't I, don't Cook. Team I can see so you physically can pick him. But why should he not? He can't. He can't. What do you mean? He can't watching shock? He has been the guy in my brain to be like I'm going to I'm coming in under the radar which shock I'm GonNa Shock. Shock! You can't do. He crashes too much. He crashes all by himself. There's no he's just grew up with this kid named Brian Gray he used to crash a lot, too, and then one day to stop crashing and he was good Salt Lake City three evening. Getting shocks. Cody shocks new career. No, I don't know about all that. But what kind of wager do you want on shock down? What do you want? What do you want? What do you want? Whatever what do you want? Twenty Bucks. I. I. I'm fifty. If you are so make it fifty fifty bucks. Okay, you're on. He makes the main event. You're on. Another gets the kid. He seems Nice apparently you do. We're going to tell them ever made a minute of it. No, I don't think. Do I. Get that number. Seventy five came from outdoors. Thank it okay, you didn't shake. Taking. You know what I'll take I'm GONNA. Go give this kid. Student, but he just needs confidence. Chad is looking for it to fifty. Different back. Jaylen auspey do thoughts abby. Well in the main, he went from third to twelfth and not an. good-looking fashion, it wasn't good I. He's great writer wrong, but he did not have a good main event. So are you. What are you saying? Stay away, I mean he was good in the first one, but that wasn't good. That wasn't a good main event for him. If you could pick these three guys colt, Pierce and tonight. That's your team right but I can't pick. His cruel how that works JT Stevens? Is Scary as hell, though yeah, that's fine though you can't. What's the saying Dan? Can't win being scared money. Don't want something like that. so Nichols added minus two all day right all agree. I can't pick them up on the podium called nickel. Nickel's percent trend was fifty forty four percent last week, so now it should be. Would think so correct and you would think so. Yeah, it'll be forty percent I know, but I'm saying theoretically, yes, it should. It should absolutely be there. Who else do you like them? I really do like and I, and I like Lorenzo. We went to the breakfast today. Lorenzo is they're made some changes. It looks like I thought he'd be better. He's in good shape your sandbox so getting in the main hardest part for him. He got fifteenth this weekend. I think you should be a little bit better around Twelfth Thirteenth so out of Seven. There still value there for me. Is could be good. Yep Yep I agree with that but man. I like the Kid I think he actually does a great job of marketing himself, but I still have not seen him in a main event. Do much of anything and he's probably. GonNa be pissed if he hears the fourteenth Atlanta I know, but I've watched them a lot because I he wears flighty, always tags me and I like I cheer for him but I. Don't know man I just haven't seen a lot main events yet like his race at Arlington and the triple crown. I was just like he I picked him just killing me out there. So we'll see I'm not saying it's a bad pick just not not very bullish. All Star. I can't take him I really like it. I'm not that guy I hate the high handicaps for all a tough spot. You can only pick mcelrath. You have to pick mcelrath. Could only pick three guys. The rest are hurt at zero. He that's tough I. mean he can only pick. You're gonNA tell me. He's GonNa pick a leak. Yeah, might your options or March Banks Shmona only because macaroni zero other than that? But yeah, JT! Who's your all star based on who you can pick to leak Shimoda, mcelrath or March banks tubes viruses right. No, no dislocated. His shoulder seen Robbie Rain Devon days ago. He wrote the next lap. Twenty twenty different. I Going to pick. Really Over Shimoda at an eight. I like. Really J. Mart, so we can. You. Guys think macaroni gets worse than third your. Shamoto gets worse than ninth. Crash at any moment. He's had I mean looking at his past finishes the. Wind was bad, but he's always in the top ten. My opinion LS. mcelrath just goes ass over tea kettle. There's no way he doesn't get to. Spare? You. Take Twenty points maybe if he doesn't lock, yeah..
A.O. Scott on the Work of Wallace Stegner
"Were some of those big questions that stagner wrestled with in his writing the segments such a fascinating writer for one thing, and I don't really get into into the peace, but he really spans generate. I don't think there are that. Many writers who cover quite the same amount of time as he does, so he he's born in nineteen o nine and grew up in various places around the western United States to Seattle Salt. Lake City not just the United States schedule on, but he started writing in the thirties is first. Four novels were published in the thirties and kept writing and kept going up until his death in. In nineteen ninety-three, the big novels that people tend to read the to that that are probably the most red angle of repose and crossing to safety are from the seventies and eighties. And he already had you know four or five decade career behind him. At that point, you know it's almost a cliche to think of him as a Western writer because he taught at Stanford for many years, he founded the creative writing program. At Stanford, the creative writing fellowships still bear his name there. A lot of his nonfiction is about the West about ecology about the settlement of the West. He wrote a really fascinating book in the forties called Mormon country about Utah Settlement Utah. Conflicts between Mormon and Non Mormon? Population and native Americans there, so the West is kind of his big theme, but it's always in opposition to the Western as we think been in movies or in popular Western literature sort of the mythology the west so. The whole idea of cowboys and railroad man. Rugged individualists, the whole myth of. Western expansion Western settlement something that he's always looking at from a very critical angle. When we think about this idea of like the great American writer and the Great American novel, which is probably all just a false notion, while the feels like in many people's minds like a terrible. Oh, that people know of Wallenstein. They, know the title usually angle of repose and crossing to safety both books that sold very well as in addition to being critical success says. But he's not one of those people that's on the curriculum. For example you said in your essay that he's the writer that you come across on shelves of books where you like you rent a cabin for the summer, and there are inevitably a copy or two of worn paperbacks of his novels, and and and that's the way I came across stagner. What is his reputation in the country? Did he get the recognition that he deserved I think in his lifetime. He was pretty well. We won or was a finalist for most of the major awards Pulitzer in the National Book Award, and he he was a very powerful and important figure in the world of creative writing. I mean the the the list of his students you know includes Berry. Edward Abbey Tillie Olsen Robert Stone Larry. mcmurtry Ken Casey so the people who pass through Stanford and were stagner fellows. There is part of legacy in American writing. Kind of off to the side of whether people are still reading his books, but but I think there is this interesting status where it's not that he's obscure, forgotten neglected, but he's feels a little bit. Marginal to me a little bit, maybe unassimilated.

And he put that sentence in there, and I know that was aimed directly was yes okay, so we'll swing for the fences. One Steve, Mathis, says Manson I look good. What was he fifteen? Hundred Ninety nine. He'd never made it may well. That's probably just law of average. Eighteenth, I think seventeen or something like then tonight qualified. He's been good enough to make Maine's Lov averages. It just hadn't worked out he was. It was going to happen, but is he good enough or are we going off of that? We all know who he is and where we are. We over qualified twenty. Two to me doesn't make main event while he's raced twice. Data's my. My point of averages, he was eventually going to get one. I felt like you couldn't I agree I have my reasons to not want tonight. Yeah, you heard me loud. Yes, yeah Dan. My theory was I saw hombres in Australia in the two fifty class, which is not nearly with the to fifty classes here and it really still wasn't that impressive, so I was not on board. But Stephen, like just hasn't made a main yet. Two and a half didn't pick them though he talked. I know exactly yeah, so you Jerky Workman I got him I. WanNa. Talk, JT, little bit. Yeah, so when that's unfolding then ice as you guys probably did to start getting text like I'm here in the race, GonNa be cancelled. Yeah, I was surprised at eight. Even here. I guess they had to have calls and they had to discuss. It was never alone. We're all in this thing and. Well when occur when a curfew goes out, basically saying it's and our hotel. Basically, we're saying you can't leave if you we've. You can't come back like there are a lot of really. Oh, yeah! They had the doors locked. Don't the gentleman at the? There's a bar. That's the only thing opened in our hotel and it was kind of the. Center Point for night. People are watching the news and there, and whatever, and then the guy in there which he was very uninformed, basically said I can't leave. No one can leave like anymore like okay. Things are starting to go sideways quickly. Luckily, he was not all that well informed. It was just the same guy last night. There was also working with starbucks this morning. Same Guy He I. Don't yeah. He works long hours. I don't want to go to for. That as well informed with what's going on. Bought a good news. He gave us free starbucks morning. Yeah, was it good? No, it was garbage coffee. I wish I would've yeah anyway so I bought starbucks and it was. Great and then we ordered pizza tonight. Everybody and we just like it's my turn to pay because JT japodlay today and I bought starbucks, day and JT. I'm going to pay conveniently the pizza place. He called Din pick up. He said eight times, but I just went on my APP, ordered it and paid for it myself and that was ever. It's eight calls. All right on lockdown really weeks paid for A. Lockdown he also had his mask on upside out which goes with the Jersey a few months ago, so yes, yes. Couple Times ask upset yeah. So you're never were where we're. I was never I, never watched. Because it was a day rights for one, so they weren't GonNa ride too much during the day at two. We're in Salt Lake City. But I did have to just go like what else. What is what is going on here right when they hit us with citywide curfew until Monday. You weren't concerned at all. No, because we weren't blur racing at night, we were in the day it was it didn't matter. It was from Saturday night at eight PM until Monday morning at six am. It doesn't.

Clashes continue for 5th night as anger boils over in dozens of cities across the US
"In dozens of cities yesterday large mostly peaceful demonstrations devolved into chaos in Nashville Miami Seattle and Salt Lake City Pittsburgh Phoenix New York and frankly too many other places to name protesters expressed their rage at the death of George Floyd police brutality and racism there were violent confrontations with police and police crackdown also violently they're also mass arrests and injuries among demonstrators journalists and police at least a dozen major cities declared curfews others called on the National Guard which has been historically used in response to major civil unrest there were scenes of National Guard marching through some residential neighborhoods ordering people to stay inside we go now to Los Angeles where members of the National Guard were also deployed overnight and a curfew was put in place as a state of emergency was declared NPR's Nathan rott is in a Laney joins us now Nate walk us through what happened yesterday so there is a massive peaceful protesters started around noon yesterday was in the Fairfax district in west LA which is kind of a trendy neighborhood with high end retail in a big outdoor mall and people were protesting against police violence as they are all over the country they were memorializing George Floyd the black man who died after being pinned to the ground by Minneapolis police officers and you know by all accounts it was peaceful respectful until a little later in the afternoon when we started seeing reports of police cars being set on fire and just a total breakdown of the situation this often happens a protest right when things shift as things go into the night do we know what happened yeah that's the obviously that was a little surprising loop usually these like shift to happen and I distorted broad daylight mid afternoon which is I think very concerning to a lot of city officials so you know on social media people are blaming the police for escalating tensions for responding with tear gas in this sort of militarized riot gear that has become so comically become a place around the country city officials have so far blame bad eggs in the crowd for setting things off and that's something we've been hearing in a lot of places that it's a small group of people who are agitating the situations of course that's now been politicized even with the U. S. Attorney General blaming anarchists and leftists without you know providing any proof of that but it's really hard to say what makes the situation situation shift tensions are obviously very high so it doesn't take much to spark something now doesn't we saw videos of looting and fires in many cities around the country last night it was also the case another right yeah number of retail stores in that Fairfax area were broken into goods were stolen some were set on fire I know firefighters are dealing with those fires throughout the night that prompted Ellie's mayor Eric Garcetti to announce a city wide curfew which cut a lot of people off guard because he announced an hour before it went into effect but here he is explaining why they did it and alluding to a violent protests in nineteen ninety two for following Rodney king we've seen this before in Los Angeles when the violence escalate no one wins and so everybody has to be responsible for owning this moment what do you wear a badge or whether you hold a sign I'm asking all of Los Angeles to take a deep breath and a step back for a moment it doesn't seem like the curfew worked briefly yeah the crowd started to sent that out even before the curfew started I know in other parts of the state Sacramento San Diego other large can confrontations between crowds and police I think you know what it's going to be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of days that's NPR's Nate rott in LA thank you so much yeah I think you look so we've been hearing how the nation is pulsing with anger with demands for racial justice some of that anger has translated into literal fire and for some small business owners that means there is stab each man is a casualty of the unrest and partially the Fadhel followed one of Minneapolis family and sent the story on the south side of Minneapolis the feeling and her family walk up to the door of what was my Mississippi is kitchen volunteer neighborhood walks out sorry the first time we've seen the restaurant after days of inside the walls are charred black the kitchen reduced to rubble glass and water swimming in puddles as community members were to sweep away the destruction of the looks around stunned her daughter's side as with their very very I completely I don't know how they're going to recover this her mother a Somali immigrant opened the restaurant two years ago but her tire savings in the midst of the health pandemic she closed the restaurant and she had to choose between paying for insurance and paying staff system via chose her staff that means there are no funds to rebuild this weekend her mother had planned to re opened her restaurant as the city started easing stay at home orders she spent over four thousand dollars on preparation how would it not only me many obvious she says it's not only her it's the whole street the city around her community members are sweeping boarding up buildings and helping each other almost every business on this block is damaged she speaks to Molly as her daughter interprets everything that has happened and every even though I know that I'm not gonna be able to compact discs from this economically but what has happened to George's life is not so cannot be exchanged for lotus I hope that he gets adjusted the freezer at the oven the tables they can be replaced but George for its life she says that cannot be replaced please the African American man who died after a white police officer India's next to the ground with his that's now fired officer Derek shopping has been arrested and charged with death has prompted mass protests that have erupted across the country in a call for racial justice in the rebel side defines the sign she made for her mother when the restaurant first opened none of the fiscal she loves because she always cooks sided digs out a few morning next most artifacts here I got it from this comes from somebody she puts them into a tiny pile of what is salvageable outside is the power of all that is lost her sister beyond the locks in to help she looks around but the truth is things like this happen when people feel powerless and something has to change he said she hopes the protests translate into motivated voters because back to her is real power she and her sisters started the big difference together inside the kitchen in the back so we can assess the damage it's a tunnel black walls burned debris I'm sorry she is upset because the way I just I just want to see the dentist in the kitchen alone for a moment staring into that black tunnel and then joins her family outside where people are coming together to clear the rubble with everything unfolding the pandemic has slipped many people's minds I forgot have you seen you shake hands with people twenty twenty we hear you we see we went from one crisis to the next to the next sizes now she spends her nights both protesting but also trying to protect other people stores and restaurants from destruction like emotionally torn like you're in there I don't think this is right but at the same time people are crying for help seeing six overnight there were more clashes more cries for justice as protesters demanded that all four of the fired officers involved in the death of George Floyd be prosecuted Floyd is a symbol of the many deaths of black people in police custody sided says she hopes all of
'I can't breathe' protests heat up as curfews imposed in several U.S. cities
"Let's go to Minneapolis now we've got NPR's Adrian Florido agent good morning good morning look not only did we see protests all across the country last night we saw a very heavy police response as well as National Guard response can you tell us about that yeah well the national guard's been activated in in several states including California Ohio Georgia and here in Minnesota where I am as well as in Washington DC so I met many cities we saw not only police in riot gear facing off against protesters but also troops at writing through through the streets in military vehicles in addition to those large number of troops and police what about the tactics they're using there's been a lot of criticism of their tactics people of that been posting videos of protesters being tear gassed hit with rubber bullets attacks on journalists in in New York there's a video of a police cruiser driving into protesters a video that mayor bill de Blasio called upsetting but even with this massive response police around the country have struggled to take control there were violent clashes with police in Chicago chaotic protests in New York and Salt Lake City one person killed in Indianapolis I'm in LA LA as you mentioned the the the the the mayor issued a curfew order and and deployed the National Guard and other cities have the National Guard on standby hoping to prevent the kind of damage that we've seen here in in Minneapolis and there's been mass arrests and injuries on both sides of police and protesters what was it like last night in Minneapolis well over the last few days police had been completely unable to control them the looting and rioting on the streets here and so large swaths of the city of burnt because the police and firefighters in many instances didn't even try to respond but last night things were were different police were out in full force patrolling the streets with with the help of the National Guard and they were determined to take control of the streets they they used tear gas here too they they used rubber bullets and police lines to to disperse protesters still really furious over at George Floyd's killing and and police violence in general and I can tell you Lou the police mostly did take control here there was very little damage reported last night to to to build businesses another property and I don't believe any major fires reported in Minneapolis last night either so what's happening there do you think the unrest is subsiding it's hard to say things still feel very tenuous here many people are still furious like I said over what the police did to George Floyd and though many people did obey the city's eight PM curfew last night many did not listen to what this young man named Q. Henderson who I spoke with last night said he was a he was marching with a group of about a hundred people at peacefully but angrily at around ten o'clock two hours after the curfew took effect I think the curfews
Solidarity protests over George Floyd death take place in cities around the States
"Eight protests around the country we begin in Salt Lake City Utah a man white man screaming all lives matter got out of his car with a bow and arrow took aim at protesters he was tackled beaten by those protestors they also flip this car over the guy taken into police custody he was later released he spoke with reporters he claims to black men beat him through his open car windows which is what spurred him to take aim with a bow and arrow in Saint Louis a man pro testing run over and killed by a fed ex truck that had been stopped when demonstrators blocked the streets police say the two men approached the truck flash their guns of the driver that spoke the driver he then sped off killing one of those demonstrators and in Minneapolis where George ward died while being arrested officials there say they have now for the moment anyway succeeded in stopping the violent protests police state troopers eleven thousand members of the National Guard descended on the streets in an effort to keep the peace well

I think that I'm GONNA probably play much safer in the four fifty class than I would in the two fifty I to make sure I get all four my guys in and Kinda wait and see on this first round If I can get you know a hundred points four a little more and my four fifty I'll probably be okay with that It's just always kind of like that it. It seems like the two classes the the big variance and you can really swing for the fences. And you're always worried about not getting into that main event because you know guys like anti nap and some of these guys. They're they're qualifying ratio. This year has been very poor And I just want to make sure I get four guys then. Yeah that's that's a big thing who put a negative three. Who did that I did? That's that's ridiculous no we. I'm sorry I'm kidding. Jt But let's get back to this minus six minus nine winner. Nothing I can't pick lafrance while again. I was hoping for bigger laughs from that from you guys but fucking no. Okay so Dan. Who Do you like for four fifty all? Let's go that Malcolm Stewart Stewart. I seven I think he's He's been working hard. You know he only have seven rounds. He's not racing outdoors so his only focus has been supercross and he was good and got in better shape. I think that I like Malcolm out of seven as far as the sick as a regular pick. Yeah we'll get there. We'll get there. I like. I like Brayton at that eight. He'd he'd been hurt so it wasn't gonNA race and obviously healed up by now so Jt Britain for all star. That eight.

Interview with Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox About The Coronavirus Situation
"All right let's go to the phone line lieutenant governor Spencer **** is on the phone Spencer **** how are you Sir I am well good morning morning lady hope you all are well so far we're fine yep doing well so let's talk coronavirus shall we let's suppose let's talk about the opening up of the the state it's a it's a calculated risk I suppose to go from orange to yellow and now I believe the only orange places laughter they Salt Lake City and magna and West Valley are they still in orange Spencer and a partition one county correct now so it's kind of a calculated risk going to the yellow phase how were how were you and the Utah department of health and the coronavirus task force monitoring all of we we have a we have a dashboard that updates every day were tied in with that with all the hospitals across the state and and we do we do watch it very closely see what to see which direction we're going Sir so there's two pieces for that one is of course directional are you moving up and up or down and into is the overall the the overall pressure that's being put on the on the system seven yeah what what is the best availability what it yeah I see you have a ability and to you you have to watch both of those you can't take either of them kind of in a in a vacuum the the good news is that our our resource availability is still extremely high as as high as any any weed out there we've got a very very good job of the not overwhelming our health care system we've been able to to bring in the supplies that we didn't have in March so that we are well well prepared if there is a spike of some sort or a surge in in case through them and hospitalization that and by the way that hospitalization is the more important piece in the case yeah right who's getting inspected and how it's impacting them it is a critical piece of this and so ads were re opening we were really also focusing and this was the update to the plan that came out last week he's a real emphasis on those that are at higher risk and how we protect them so we know that half or death in the state of calm in our long term care facilities into doing more to protect them of course anyone over the age of sixty five and then a real focus on our multicultural communities as well we we Filipino community they make up fifteen percent of the state but thirty percent of the hospitalizations that so we've got to focus more there are to protect people from up from this virus so we had a Memorial Day holiday and people feeling cooped up feeling anxious started socializing hands and socializing pretty close together in a lot of I'm sure you've seen the pictures of of people recreation at a pool I think it was in Utah county band and people at at parks and people were streaming to the canyons and hiking and and generally not observing social distancing very well can you comment comment on that and is there any way to control that sure sure I can comment and we you know that you guys said this before but the virus doesn't care how bored we are cooped up we are it is just looking for hosts to replicate and we're we're cautiously hopeful and V. experts we talked to there's so much we don't know about this virus we there there is some belief down some evidence of their innocence even Ali to what we do know that being outside is always better than being inside so if you're going to be close to people much better to be closer outside the main thing so so those are those are things we know but but we're still obviously very concerned if again especially about those in the high risk category and then people who might spread it to them a symptomatically and so we really we we just want to urge people to prevent backsliding we we really do need people to be careful to to maintain social difference wherever possible how to wear masks as matches as much as possible in public all of these things are going to allow us to have more normal in our lives than than last I mean it's the very thing said that though that we're doing that will will prevent us from having a normal fee that was that we wanted to just really strongly encourage people to to continue to be vigilant and make a note the social differences we're talking to the lieutenant governor of Utah Spencer **** so so what happens if in a week or two weeks from now went up people did get out and do a lot of socializing we start seeing some significant spikes how do you how difficult will that be to turn to turn things back down once it's at once people are out and socializing it seems like almost there be no stopping them can we do that well well certainly it's something that we're we're gonna have to watch very closely and that the whole purpose of what we built up to now is is this idea that we can be more surgical smoke we do see hot spots or outbreak we can actually go and attack those areas and and do it you know and and we can we can we have mobile testing now we we we have the ability to trace and and contact tracing with people who have been infected to work both forward and backward to figure out where they got it from and who who they have been in contact with and get those people quarantine and and certainly again the media messages are very helpful with it it's really interesting in retrospect if you go back and look at the data about social distancing and not social distancing he had less to do with government mandates and more to do with that kind of media coverage of the the virus and people making their own decision as to what we're really hopeful if that if that were protecting against those people who are the most vulnerable because we learn so much more about this disease now and who is who it impacts that the most and and that we're allowed to have but you again more normalcy while still protecting people and and and having the best of both worlds but that that that's a tricky line to navigate and and that everybody's doing the best they can right now Gina I have a question so I live in I live in an orange lemon salt lake city and I've heard from several people that their kids who were on soccer teams are baseball teams or things like that the reside in Salt Lake City those teams have started practicing in areas where where it's been relaxed a little bit they're going to bed on a full or going out to devote to Jordan's and practicing that like well they're they're looser out there so we can have a better practice out there if you can have them arrested is there a danger in people that live in an orange area going in behaving that way in a yellow area shouldn't shouldn't we if we live in Salt Lake City are are soccer players are in Salt Lake City you have to observe those rules there you can't go somewhere else and do that yeah there there's certainly a danger in that and again that the whole purpose of having a bit more localized system is two ways to be vigilant in areas where we do have outbreaks will reduce the higher rates of of incident and that is that there's two teams he said that one of course it is a physical piece for the other one is just that the kind of mental awareness piece that we we do need to be more vigilant we do need to be more careful and so that that is concerning we have left it up to the local health department a course they're the only ones that actually have the authority anyway Q. what to enforce those that those regulations and to to be in touch with people I'm still a lot of debate right now and a lot of fine being done on on children as doctors and and their ability to spread it to others and and so we're we're learning more about about that and if it is that you couldn't get your concern as was originally thought or not hopefully you know over the next few weeks will have even better information and we'll have better information about how it's spreading in Utah we do have the the surveillance what we'll call surveillance testing it it's basically randomized testing that's going on over ten thousand Utahns and we should start getting data back on that in the next week or two and so we're really anxious to see who had it already and where it's spreading right now and that will help us make even better decisions at the local level I things are really serious down on the and down on the Navajo in data nation and that doesn't count as part of our statistics it's a separate thing what is the is be part of the reservation is in Utah are we doing something to help the them yeah I checked we were doing more than than the other states and it's been a little bit of a source of contention but I mean in a positive way for us we we were we were the first to send out mobile units I'm down there to lead to increased testing capacity and and to help to help that did that the nation we've been working very closely with president knows who used to be that the vice the vice president of the Navajo Nation and my counterpart we have a long standing relationship we've also been sending our our National Guard resources we've got a we've been sending food and resources as well I'm a huge project here in the state that we're we're really proud of the farmers of Utah there's a there's a donation people can make and that they can donate money to the farmers to buy food from the farmers were struggling and deliver that food to the Navajo Nation just last week we took truckloads of of of land which is really important to that to the nation we're sending sheep down there as well and it's been a really really positive a relationship with the Navajo Nation Spencer **** always nice to hear from you keep us safe and healthy and the best to your family babby and your kids are doing well and we'll talk to you again soon thank you thanks guys keep up the good work

"They have a mandatory shelter in place kind of things. It's also really spacious out here, so it's not like it's totally okay to go outside. You just need to stay six to ten feet away from people. We're we're not actually in like the. We're in Salt Lake City, but we're not in like the downtown downtown, so we're like more residential. Neighborhood, it's like the HIP and happening neighbor head of like Salt Lake It's yeah, but it's the it's the good thing is that? Yeah, it's it's not dense at all, and we're right near Park and like the city is. Surrounded by like these giant mountain ranges, so it's really pretty and yeah this whole area. This whole metropolitan area is kind of basin, an like an ancient big. You kinda shape base, so it's like. Area that surrounded by mountains and start cities like two hundred thousand people, but then the whole metropolitan area that goes pretty far south in a bit north. That's like another. One another million that you'd have to that. Yeah It's very spread out city. So, yeah, I mean, but the other thing we're lucky about. Is that Were like literally like half a block away from like a natural foods store and steps that we can get everything you need like wherever we are, we don't you know so? You don't have a car. Yeah, we don't have a car here, so we can walk everywhere for the most part. Destined friendly city, but the sidewalks so he can't walk. Drivers can be astle. Inattention in like we'll run you over doing right on red, so they're that aside we can make it working pretty ideal right now. Given the circumstances. There's definitely definitely worst places you could be stuck in a mountainous basin of. Natural Foods. Exactly look friends and family in New York are like Oh my God. We can't go outside. See Narrow.
