Lost Stephen Sondheim musical reveals insight into a giant

"The soundtrack to a musical that composer Stephen Sondheim wrote when he was 18 has been recently discovered. A marches are a letter with the latest. That Steven Sondheim performing the overture to a musical called Finney's rainbow that he co wrote when he was a sophomore at Williams college in 1948, journalist and author PulseNet, who wrote a new book called Sondheim and me, discovered it among his papers when he finished the book. His theory is that Sondheim ran an acetate recorder during a performance and created his first original cast recording. He will donate the recording to marquette university after speaking to Sondheim many times the says Sondheim would have hated that the music was resurrected, but salsa is a journalist, and this is news.

Caller Suggests More Aggressive Messaging for Campaign Ads

"To the midterms last night, I watched on Tucker Carlson, how it appears that Republicans have fallen behind imposed in various states such as Arizona aspects of Georgia such as Pennsylvania as you alluded to. And this is happening when you have a president that has some of the lowest poll numbers imaginable. A guy has no coattails, nobody likes them, but yet Republicans seem to be losing these speeds if you believe the polls. So let's just arguments like, let's just take them all face value and say they are. Here's what I think needs to happen. I saw an ad for Doctor Oz yesterday and it was about as weak as you could get. It showed him walking around in a grocery store picking out heads of lettuce and salsa and it just like I said it was weak. And this guy is running against somebody. John fetterman that looks like he could be holding up a homeless sign off the exit ramp of an interstate. And he's behind this guy. What they need to do is to get aggressive. They need to start running ads on inflation, immigration, and crime. And shows whether it's an incumbent, whether it's a challenger, show that person's pitcher, with Joe Biden, and you go after them relentlessly. And one of the best things Mary, I think they could do right now. Look what happened last week. Somebody some Republican needs to come out with an ad saying that they're elected, they're going to vote to repeal that inflation act and at the same time, how do I run an ad show in IRS they just breaking down the door point to import somebody's head at the dinner table. Something like that is what's going to take is what it's going to take to trigger Republicans and independents to go vote for the Republicans and throw these Democrats out. But they've got to get aggressive. They can not play nice. Yeah,

CBS Gives a Pass to Jill Biden for Calling Latinos 'Tacos'

"So instead of attacking the First Lady, CBS decided we've got to lend her a helping hand cut for. Christina, let me switch gears here. First Lady Jill Biden is taking some heat after people took offense at comets. She made it a Latino rights event in Texas yesterday. Let's listen to what she said. With the understanding that the diversity of this community as distinct as the bogus of The Bronx as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio. All right, obviously equating tacos with the Latino community is the issue that many find incredibly offensive. Christina, what is The White House saying about this? Yeah, no comment yet from The White House this morning and those comments come a day before Mexican president Lopez Obrador is here today to meet with mister Biden so the timing is especially uneasy. Look, those remarks from the First Lady came as part of a prepared speech praising the work of a well-known activist, the national association of Hispanic journalists, condemned the comments, saying in part that Latinos should not be reduced to a stereotype. Vlad. That is exactly right. Christina, thank you very much. We all agree with that. Absolutely. First Lady's team probably huddling today. You think that up? Because when you know Joe Biden, that's not who she is, but it didn't come out correctly. You know, I'm not a big fan of breakfast tacos, grace maker. It's, I don't know. I'm a biscuit guy. So give me a sausage biscuit. I don't like a crumbled up in the doctor. Well, it's just a little too heavy for me. You put the salsa yet. It's just a bit much. It's a for lunch. It's a bit much. I love tacos.

Hispanic Voters Now Evenly Split Between Parties, WSJ Poll Finds

"Now what I want to talk about is this article that I saw And I think I may have mentioned it a little bit last time but I wanted to bring it up again because I was just talking about it with Chris salsa a big shout out to him from wba P and newsmax About this Wall Street Journal poll a report about a poll where Hispanics are evenly split 37% and 37% saying that they both would support Trump or Biden And this is revolutionary if you will because for decades my entire lifetime that's always been part of the guaranteed vote for the Democrat party In the 60 to 70 percentile African Americans into the 80 and close to 90% So what gives now that there's this big split well obviously Latinos are leaving the left because they've seen the economic growth that occurred during the Trump administration It doesn't matter what color you are or what country you're born in People come to America for the American Dream That's exactly why they're

"Let's go. Teigen, and Cooper are getting ready to go to the weekends, farmers market with their mom, Jackie. Mom has a really big list of items that she needs to get because she wants to prepare a big, big family dinner. Tegan and Cooper hop in the car and mom gets in and off they drive to the market. The market itself is close by, but because mom wants to do lots and lots of shopping, they need to space in the car. So it's about a 6 minute drive and they get to the farmer's market and Teigen instantly gets excited. Why? Because, you know, the farmer's market is a place where all sorts of people sell all sorts of different kinds of foods and snacks and all sorts of yummy things that you can try and taste and it's just going to be a fun afternoon. Let's go this way. Cooper says, and they start to explore the market and mom starts checking off items from her shopping list. When in the distance, a crowd starts building, oh, look, tegan says. There's something happening over there. Can we have a look as well? Yes, let's have a look, Cooper says. And so they walk into the direction of the crowd, but there's so many people around. It's very hard to see what's going on. We have to make it to the front Cooper says. So they make their way to the front and tegan and Cooper both stare at a stage. And on this stage, there's a big screen. And on the screen, it reads spicy salsa eating competition starts in two minutes one spot left. We should join Cooper says I love spicy salsa. Teigen, please will you join me please, please, please. Okay, tegan says, mom, can you register us? Of course, mom says, this will be fun. So mom gets tegan and Cooper registered when the two minutes are up and all the teams have to go onto the stage. In total, there are 5 teams. And the way it works is that there are three different rounds with three different types of spicy salsa. Round one is spicy salsa. Round two is super spicy. And round three is super crazy most spicy salsa. So there are three rounds and every round consists of one song. And the team that eats the most spicy salsa during that song, progresses to the next round. But there is a twist. During the song, where they have to eat as much spicy salsa as they can. They also have to do a crazy dance. Oh, I love dancing. Do you consider? I'm not so sure things. You will be fine, you will be fine. Everyone, are you ready? For your first spicy salsa. Team I present you with your very first spicy salsa. The recipe for this spicy salsa is so old, it goes all the way back to the dinosaurs. And therefore, your first spicy salsa is called the spicy sore, so sad. Are you ready? And three, two, one, go. The music starts playing and the teams start eating a huge bowl of spicy sores, dinosaur inspired salsa. And tegan and Cooper start eating. Oh, this is spicy tegan says. Oh, we have to dance. And the both of them start dancing and eating at the same time when the music stops and the first round is already finished. Oh, I need some water quick Cooper says. Who is ready? For round number two. It's from the 5 teams, two teams get cut and tegan and Cooper have made it to the top three teams. Okay, we have to get to the final Cooper. So let's see what salsa we get now. For your super spicy salsa. We have a salsa that comes in all sorts of colors. Some might even say that it looks like a rainbow salsa. But we at the spicy salsa competition refer to this super spicy salsa as the unicorn's house. As in front of the teams, it's a huge ball of salsa that looks like every single color of the rainbow. Three, two, one, it sounds and round number two begins. Tegan and Cooper start shaking and dancing and moving, to the music as they try and eat as much of this super spicy unicorn salsa. Oh, this is super spicy tegan and Cooper Bose. As the music stops again. And the judges compare what two teams can move to the final round and luckily that includes tegan and Cooper. Welcome to the final round. Here we have for you are super crazy wow, spicy so soft. This is the most crazy spicy salsa ever. Oh, I'm not sure if I can do this. Cooper says to tegan, when he looks into the crowd, and he's butts his best friend Macy. Hey, Maisie. Suddenly spots her best friend, Sammy and boo. Good luck the yo. When the music goes back on, they start dancing and shaking and moving and they start to eat this super crazy one. Spicy salsa. Oh, this is super super super spicy. When the music stops, and the crowd becomes completely silent. This is the moment where the judges will decide what team did enough and who won the spicy salsa eating competition. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner that judges have decided that. Tegan and Cooper are winners. I can not believe it, mom says, oh, I wanted was to do some shopping at the farmer's market. And I'm going home with this spicy salsa king and queen of San Jose California. And with that, I'm going to end today's episode. But he's still shared with all your Friends and your family. I hope you had fun. Join me in the next adventure. And if you want me to create a story just for you, then simply ask any grown-up to get in touch. I can not wait to create an adventure, just for you. So with that being said I wish you good night. I wish you sweet dreams if you're not going to sleep. I wish you an amazing day. "Right road rash. You get such a fun game. I love that exclusive though. Yeah you'd be right now the road and you're on a motorcycle racing. That was one of the funny games. Well actually it does say it's their right. It says it's a mega drive. So you'd have to buy the sega mega drive genesis classics and then you could download road rash to go with. Okay all right good. Yes you could play that on a steam deck see now that opens up so many more possibilities. That actually may be more fun to do than the the microsoft Pass game pass you. Are you thinking you can add it up later. Because i had later sure when i use my xbox more often the other day i tried to play so i rented a movie that was done by friend of mine and i wanted to see it. This movie called take-back right which has got mickey work in it. So i go to red box. I get the movie right and i rented and go bring home to play it in my xbox. It wouldn't play at all no matter what i did. I could not get by rebooted the x. Box so my my dvd drive is dead in my in my xbox So i mean that means. I basically have to get a new one. I don't want to spend four hundred dollars for a new one right. It doesn't make sense because you can't play dvd. Yeah yeah what. What if i get a game. We know you everything. Now that's true. That's i guess. I don't have to worry the movie closet over here full of blue race full. I mean like to full shelves because we wanted to collect every disney movie every studio ghibli all that stuff right right wanted to collect physical format. It's getting harder and harder to actually find physical format players now. Granted the xbox series acts and the The more expensive edition of the playstation five. We'll do that but what's going to happen when it comes to the xbox series infinity or whatever they're going to call the next one or they totally get rid of that six. They're going to get rid of physical media. So what am i supposed to do with that. But but then again. I can find all of my blue raise. I can find them either on hulu a plex server net flicks or whatever and then i can find all of studio ghibli on hbo. Max so what are you. what are you supposed to. Do you know people listening that. Have the stacks and stacks dvds. Cds blu rays. Maybe what do you do when you finally say that's it. I'm going to declutter. I wanna i wanna tell them to the local consignment shop or something right now. What what does that one. Famous one in tucson there. I know georgia's goodwill no not good. White elephant is great. No the big one. Maybe went on a booklets book. Man man never gives you enough money for it. Well what are you going to do with it. Yeah see that's the thing. What do you do with it but look look what happened to. Lp's records okay. They went out of style. Like who's going to take the time to dig out big crate full of vinyl records when we got these cool new cds that have everything on it right and then all of a sudden what was it like twenty twelve twenty and fourteen right all of a sudden. Vinyl records had a resurgence and people are like nah man. I don't want to see the. I don't want spotify. I want the original and record. Companies started releasing new and past albums back on vinyl again because people were like. Nah i want that. Do you think that could happen with cds. Dvd's i don't think so. Because cds there compressed right. You don't get the great quality with it as you do with the vinyl. Well now. they're putting up one hundred and eighty grand vinyl which is even better sound to it sure. Yeah and that's the thing if people like if you're a true audio file you're you're gonna want that that that pure sound so you're gonna want an analog recording of it and that's where the one hundred eighty gram vinyl comes into play but going forward twenty forty years from now right. Do you think people are going to get nostalgic for blue race. No you don't think. I don't think so. I think because the technologies is going to be so good as the encoding gets better and as internet gets better you're going to be able to stream ultra high definition over the internet. Why would you want to have a physical disk that you've got to put in. You've gotta take care of if it gets a work like your. i think. I think you're missing my point though right. Imagine this was one thousand nine hundred seventy. Yeah but you know what if vinyl records were known. I'm sorry that's this was one thousand nine hundred first. Female vinyl was king right. Why why would. I want to go to something new like this. I think that's what you're kinda saying. Sean is like no. They're not gonna miss that. I think you're going to something more convenient but you're missing the original i. I think though there's a romantic you know. Romanticism about vinyl. Honestly his think about it vinyl was not just about buying the album. Vine when you went out and you bought an lp right and take somebody who's bought many lp's in these in the years you bought it because of the artwork that was on that album you bought it because of the liner notes that were inside that album. You would take it out and that's leave and you could read the lyrics. You could read notes from the artist. You could see photos from shows and there was you. Even people hung on walls. You could do that for cds too but it didn't have that same thing you know. It just doesn't have that same feel and it seems that goes with dvd movies with blu. Rays everything's going to delivered digitally and i don't think we're gonna miss dvd's and bluer because look at the problem. I wanted to watch a movie. I couldn't watch it. So i don't think i'm not saying that it's not going to happen. I think it's going to be easy enough for people to get into the Be comfortable with digital media. Now i'd like physical media just like justice said i've collected almost every disney movie on blu ray. Dvd i've collected a lot of my favorite movies up lorraine dvd. I'm waiting for the.

And it said that they had a problem Processing my credit card transaction for the The game pass the pc game. Pass that have dudes. I've not played. I haven't even fired that up in like two months that i didn't even notice the game pat microsoft game. Yeah i did you really well. Why why did you cancel yours. Because i'm not using my xbox right now. Yeah i'm not and there's no reason for me to be paying fifteen dollars a month for stuff that i'm not using i get it. I guarantee there's somebody listening out there who's going to say hold up. You got an xbox series x and you're not using it like people are like really trying very hard to get themselves an xbox series x. They can't get it. Yeah i've got one. It just sits here. I feel bad about it. Like why did i get this. I'm not even using it. I know i'm gonna use it in the future when there's more exclusive xbox series titles but right now i'm not like the new halo or something. Yeah i'm probably play that but yeah for right now. I'm just not using it. I was kinda the same boat. I every time i wanna use it. Something comes up. And i gotta finish it or to work on this some web thing and then it's like i keep saying i wanna play. I've got the joystick. I've got the throttle. I wanna play. You know microsoft flight simulator with microsoft game pass. And i just haven't and then i didn't even notice it. It's been like two months now. So i'm like i recently had been played flights him again with my brother and co workers because they got it for the xbox and it's on game pass so the cross play has been great with them. So it's another reason why i kept game pass but then i bought flights later so thankfully need gay pass anymore but there are other games that i've played with my brother that require game. Pass that i like. And i don't wanna lose those kids. Want to go back and play them but at any point nine they could pull those games from game pass and i wouldn't have them anyways. Yeah and now. I'm kind of circling back to buy kind of my mentality on digital content is if i pay for it i want to own it. So the subscription model doesn't work for me for that so it's like it's frustrating that thank fifteen dollars a month for games. I don't own. I like them then. Microsoft could yank them out for me at from meantime this this whole game pass thing with the microsoft thing reminds me very much and i. I don't know if either of you guys remember this. But the sega cable channel member the sega genesis had this ad on you could buy and you could subscribe through your cable provider and it would be a cable cable. Tv input into your sega with this adapter cartridge. That regular game. Kimber was called sega channel. Try and you would be able to just play a monthly subscription of games but each month those games would disappear now granted. Those are games that you could probably beat in a day or two. I mean because back then games were not that massive. Yeah but now with this microsoft subscription service. It reminds me very much of that. Where you're getting these games every month. But like is like sean said at any point. Microsoft can just say nope no more now granted. They do tell you. Hey this game's going away this month whatever. So here's your opportunity to purchase it at a discounted rate because you've already played it. And you have your save game so you can purchase a normally. I dunno. let's say a forty dollar game for twenty bucks and we'll let you keep your data because you've already got your save data on your xbox does account remind you of The way disney used to their movies where you know you'd have a movie out it'd be popular and then suddenly they'd say hey. This is the last month to get this. It's going away for good. It's going in the vault. Yeah and then so if you wanted to get it you had to buy it right there and then i kind of wonder you know if it's the same kind of thinking when it comes to that and then you have to think okay when steam comes up with its steam deck which is going to be a hand-held controller that'll be out in december that you'll play the games that you have unseen are they gonna do the same thing or the games that are on. Your steam account will be the games. You're going to be able to play on your steam deck. Steam is different. You you only get to play the games you have in your library right at least at least now i mean yeah they i dunno steam might do some sort of subscription model in the future but right now as far as i know sean a you can only play the games in your account which means you've bought the games. He's going to be a computer. It's a computer. it's literally a hand held computer. It's going to be able to play the game. Is i understand account now. Obviously there are games. That are only for mac. Early for windows are only for vr. So what games in my library are going to be eligible floor so right now. It says once you've logged into steam deck. Your entire steamed libraries shows up just like any other. If join you need the windows only sounds like the not games are only windows are there are very few there. Only because she's your coach for those but sure so so that would probably be our answer right there. It's probably gonna be windows. Only i would love to have a device that is a hand held device where you can play the games seriously like duke. Nukem and interstate seventy six this. We'll do it and doom. You can buy all those games on steam way. You're kidding me. The that would make it worth the price of admission. There you go. That's the thing is you can play all those games. You can buy all those games on. Steam steam has got millions.

Fun Summer Tastes and the New TerraShield

"Samantha. Thank you so much for being here with us today. Thanks so much for having me so cooking with essential oils is something that maybe not. A lot of people are familiar with so if i am new to cooking with essential oils. What are some of the things i need to know. Cooking with essential oils might take on. It is mostly for flavor unless you're not heating up oils because like with everything. Each essential oil has a flash point which means they all have a temperature that they basically burn off at which can remove potential benefits but it does leave the flavor bind. That's really interesting. So if you're planning on putting into oils in raw foods you'll definitely get the benefits and the flavor but if you're deciding to cook with it you're just looking for the flavor to replace the dry herbs that you'd probably use cooking with essential oils is also an easy clean and honestly less expensive way to season a dish because you want to use them. Sparingly essential oils are concentrated versions of the plant. So you don't need much you can always add more but you can't take anything away. I start with a toothpick sized amount and slowly. increase it from our flavor. Can you let us know what some of your favorite recipes are. I think a lot of people might want to use essential oils in different recipes. But might not know where to start so i. What is your favorite recipe to use a citrus. Oil in absolutely really was interested. Any type of drink but also desserts. Interestingly enough i love wild orange orientate injuring in chocolate cakes brownies. It really brightens up those richer desserts and you can even add them into frostings. Or if you're going for more like a summary dish you can add a little bit into a salsa and my favorite drink to do with wild. Orange is making lemonade with some freshly squeezed lemons. Your favorite sweetener and then just a drop of wild orange in maybe a drop of tangerine and you have this bright unique fresh lemonade to hopefully cl- you off. During the hot summer

"Carl that thing. That i have i thing is happening to happen periodically. Which is that. I have followed you for so long. That i have to remind myself that. We're not actually friends internet. You pursing. that's right first. Time talking in a formal capacity. Yes absolutely i mean isn't that what's so wonderful about social like that is still the golden nugget. In all of this chaotic energy. That social media is the wonderful folks that find each other there and you're on the same frequency. It feels so apart of ucla at home with each strangers. When is it you decide. You want to pursue a formal culinary education so that happened because i was diagnosed with a chronic health on this. I am a type one diabetic. So i think. Have minute insulin pen here. If you know anything about diabetes you know that your success of being healthy with it is really dependent on what you eat. So when i was diagnosed i was twenty three and i was so confused. I had just finished. A few half marathons was on that smoothie life and everything. And then i'm told i have this and the doctor explains well. It's just one of those things. It's genetics there's nothing in your diet. Not that you were eating bad or anything. This is just something that was gonna happen to you. And i okay. Well how do i manage this. And he said well. I would advise you to not eat for us. Don't he. this greasy food. A lot of latin food is not going to be very favorable for your house and that was just heartbreak because i felt that time that without realizing you know he was really saying. You have to make a choice between your health and your culture and sex that your cultures reread unhealthy for you is really you know the subtexts of all of what she is trained to say to be and i was really bothered by this. And how like this guy is just wrong this. There's no way that this is true. Might food is healthy for me. I am going to figure out a way. And so i really start getting involved in the food. I did eat cantaloupe salsa. I remember and it was fine. I had a good time. We kept doing it and finally she says these are so great. We're getting people to come in to try food and the farmers are happy. Because there's more traffic so we're going to put you on the schedule every single eventually people would stay after class or after my demo and say hey i have this ingredient. How do i use this. Or what's another way. That i keep prepare this and then he started to call me. Chef chef carla. I'm looking at the ferruginous today. And i would. Let's now how you recommend me using it. And i thought all who's gonna tell them i was really trying to have this farmer's market in east hollywood who you know. The only reason i got involved is because of everything. I was learning about the access to food. And how integral when we talk about social justice and when we look at the scope of problems and challenges in our communities food is is there for this political crews picking your food who gets to eat certain foods and i was not there to make canelo sausa- but of course you know you found me doing and i when i started to get people you know to come after class in asking these questions i thought like i really need to be about it and i refused to go. How Libraries Can Help You Learn, Connect and Grow With Rebecca Stoltz

"I am excited today. Because you've got a guest on. This is a guess as a little out of the box. From who've you brought on before. And i'm really excited that rebecca salsas here and What what are you guys talking about today. yes so. I'm really excited. That rebecca was able to join us today. Rebecca is the executive director of the josephine county Library foundation and is really an integral part. The library there in just being county. Where grants pass. Where i live is located. And i just wanted to spend some time talking with rebecca about the value that libraries bring to our community and to our lives and so rebecca. Thank you so much for being here. Absolutely thank you for having me ma. It's our pleasure our pleasure so We tell us just a little bit about how long you've been working with the library and What your position entails right now so i have been through. Many different transitions At our library. And i've been working about eight years back. When the library was a nonprofit i was doing the fundraising and now i've transitioned over to the library foundation and i'm not the executive director and my job is to help raise funds to support special programs and things that are outside of the library. District's budget very nice. Very nice and and i know there's a long history there with what happened in josephine county with the library system Do you want to just give a brief overview of that of what happened to it. Seems like almost twenty years ago now with libraries being defended and then what what happened in the community after that absolutely so in two thousand and eight the libraries were closed and e funded and the community really rallied. They wanted to have a library in their communities so it was a grassroots efforts and they raced funds and was able to st- originally started out of you know checking out. Books are lending out books in their vehicles in a parking lot and then they were able to raise enough money to open up. The libraries and tons of work was involved with that and our library system. Which has four branches. One in grants pass one in williams one out in the ohio valley and one out of wolf creek operated as a nonprofit for ten years so phenomenal work. I'm and it was really exciting to see a community so passionate and really finding the value of libraries in a community because there there weren't a whole lot of libraries being run as nonprofits at that time. We're there no. Our library system is kind of like a unicorn very unique. We had over three hundred volunteers at one time. Doing all of that work which is just amazing. And even within it becoming a nonprofit. There were still three over three hundred volunteers that were checking in books. Checking out books doing all of that work. In fact we have about two hundred fifty volunteers. That still are doing that. Work today. so wonderful i my. My sister has has volunteered to the library. Here for years before covid. Kind of shut down the the day to day operations of checking in and out books but What what. I wanted to kind of touch on i. I remember this is this is my embarrassing story is probably sixteen. Seventeen years ago. I was much younger and definitely not as wise and i was standing in line at a community event here in jackson county and we were at the library and i had made an offhand comment about. Why do people need libraries anymore. and what. i didn't realize. I was standing right behind. One of the board members for the jackson county library and she took me to task for about five minutes explaining the value of libraries to the community. So i would love for you to just take a minute And i'm gonna humbly ask why our library still relevant today. It's a great question and we hear it quite often. Actually you know not. Everyone has the same resources in today's world and libraries are the technology access points for so many people and we see that even more now that we've endured through a pandemic and libraries as a whole. There's just so much more than book. Repositories the cultural and community centers. And our library here in grants pass even attracts more foot traffic then the local post office so when you think about all those long lines in the post office and how busy it always. Is your library here. Josephine community library is is busier than that. And really we service as venues for community meetings host workshops from anything of you wanna learn about coating to changing a tire and i could also take a task for a long time about the importance of libraries. But just a couple numbers to run by. You is each month. More than twenty. Two thousand items are checked out. And they're in homes within our community and in a county where at least a third of our residents don't have computer or internet access at home patrons lock more than fifteen thousand computer sessions in a year and have nearly forty three thousand personal devices. Connect to the library's wifi so it is a library is so much more than just books in building. It's really an important piece of the community where people can connect and grow. I just can't agree more promptly. What got me back into. The library was have having a daughter. She's six now. You know taking her back to the library to have those experiences in the children's roman being able to kind of just see the books touch the books and kind of just have that that feel of what a library feels like is just phenomenal. I know you. There's just so many Children's programs happening at the library is as well absolutely and we have families with kids of all ages coming to participate. Whether it's our summer reading program we have sensory story times the dolly parton imagination library program or registering kits through josephine county to receive free books. Mail to them Every month and and that that is just such a fantastic program. That was a partnership. I think with The library in rotary there in josephine county. If i'm correct but That is really phenomenal. That is any any family can sign up for it. Any child and from birth to five years old every month. They get a new book in the mail. Mail to them. Yeah it's it's wonderful and we have over two thousand kids currently receiving books every month in josephine county through that program and and thanks to all for the rotary groups in grants pass and and the many funders of that program. It's been great to to get that many books in the hands of kids in our in our

"The with kevin mason for many people. We've crossed the one year marker of dealing with covid nineteen. We started getting informed by the government earlier in the week a year ago that we're going to need to change the way we lived and officially one year ago today. My wife and i went out to our favorite mexican restaurant for tacos burritos chimney. Tonga's chips and salsa margaritas our normal weekend splurge if you will and sadly that was the last time we've been inside a restaurant in a year now for us. It wasn't quite the adjustment would have been if this had happened. Fifteen or twenty years ago back then when my wife and i were both working in radio we probably eight in restaurants five to seven nights a week in the last year. Not once. You would think you know it'd be easier because he's playing with house money because he's great. But sometimes you set the boss. Big Bat, Loud Music: The Marcell Ozuna Experience

"Well david the braves made a run all the way to the last season and marcelo soon. It was a huge part of that. Can you remind us just how productive he was for the braves throughout this shortened season extremely productive at three thirty eight with a one thousand sixty seven opie s led the al in both homers with eighteen and rb is with fifty six high towering. Fly ball tepe center. Make it a three hundred night over. The batter's i straightaway center. I don't know if i've ever seen a ball go up there at fenway. I was saying the same thing up with the cameras are. He's a threat to win the triple crown. The last weekend in the season when his average fell back just a little bit still finished third batting average so he led the league in total bases. One hundred forty five was tied for second next since with thirty two and was third both obt at four thirty one and slugging percentage six thirty six so like i said extremely productive. If you watch a braves game you don't have to look too far for some marcelo. Zona antics was oona. Hits this ball eight hundred feet after he hits it he does a nice little stroll towards first and then he decides you know what. I'm just going to take a selfie right here. Tell us a little bit about his personality. What it meant for the clubhouse this past season. I can't think of another player that they could have signed to a one year deal like they did him a year ago in january and still have had in a year of kovin to have somebody come in and have the kind of profound impact he had on a team. You had to have a personality like he has which was really outgoing. He's a kind of gregarious guy. Everybody on the team lights. Not just what he does on the field but in the club house the energy the zone as a total package in every plays he's revered is kind of guy that he's so likable that he can play at boombox with salsa music at three in the morning on the team bus from the airport hotel. Crank it up and everybody just smiles instead of going turn off. That's the kind of personality has everybody loves. it was gonna signed a one year deal with atlanta. Just before last season he became a free agent and after months of uncertainty he finally decided to resign with atlanta. Recently four years sixty five million dollars for a guy that brought incredible protection to freddie freeman in his mvp year he exceeded expectations in atlanta. As you wrote david. His personality was on display during a recent zoom. Call with some reporters. What did you learn about his philosophy. Well he kind of put it specifically he said. I cannot have a bad day on the field as person. War is still happy because no everyday you will not be perfect day. You will not you. When i made they walk there. Were right so you had to be like in in in google. Not every day. You're going to make the world right so you have to be like always in a good mood. I don't worry about just going happy and bringing Like let's go. Let's go from it up meals. -i duck fung joke everything long. Talk have fun joke everything. That's the way you put it at the kirby cross. Everybody was just laughing as perfect. That's you. He refuses to let disappointments during the day whether they be over. Four day with three strikeouts or somebody on another team acting like an ass. It just doesn't let any of that. Get to take a person. Let's all roll off his back and kind of sees his role as always being there to bring everybody else up be energetic and spread that everybody
