"Big blockbusters and marvel films dominating the press circuits and things like that people complain about how blockbuster films snuff out smaller films. And the keep talking about the other films all blah blah blah blah blah. Right but then film festivals. This year basically did that by only allowing those blockbuster films being shown at certain things. And i'm like so what that basically so so. why why. why is it. Because that's what you knew was going to get in your seats versus all these other good films so yeah i'm again here's my thing. As as a movie critic is what you guys wanted you guys. I don't mean you. All the lesson i mean just overall. I don't have to watch the the big films right and they come out. I can wait right chunk cheese coming out too. I was still gonna considering going. But i know a fact is coming to disney plus nevermore twelve day. Guess who's waiting until november twelve to watch it. When i can watch from the comfortable home for me when it comes to home festivals. It's less about. I feel like i have to cover this. It's like you know. I follow some random people. I realized that the day that even though i did my original twitter handle it's still the count and so i still follow like four thousand people or some shit. It's weird. I don't like it. i need. But a mixed among them are like some actors and directors who do like not necessarily industry projects and so random. Things come across my radar. Follow some film critics. Some of the ones who were trade but also some of the ones who like who are indian a lot of them were black and i think i can't say enough that we get the grace with the audience that we serve with who we talked to that. They are interested in more than just the big projects you know. I think we get positive feedback. Some people think that we Go off script when we ran. We they think that we're rambling. We're not actually reviewing the movie. But sometimes we make comparisons between projects so people have a touchstone and as a way not to spoil because sometimes it feels like we're spoiling once gone to see the movie but if you go back and listen to what we said before what we did. Is we alluded to things. We kind of talked about the allegories that were involved in the themes and we have the grace because we respect to people who who listen to us enough to not feel like we need to have a one about every single movie and for me. Dave taking some of that the handcuffs off of being bound to the friday night. Release schedule right. I mean it used to be were hitting our screenings that they were giving us and then we had a standing to review every thursday night because we need to make sure that things got up on friday so we have a little bit more flexibility. We have a little bit more grace like. Do you wanna comment. Because you'll probably hear this before october first. We reviewed the guilty on a previous show for tiff. The guilty hits netflix october. First and we may have had to choose between a different project..

Jodi say that it's still tough but it's worth it. I'm wondering there's a terrific review of your book in The New Yorker. I think one really important lesson and from my book is that parents and students alike are just incredibly committed to education so when you ask that question Magna. Is it worth it. That's also what I heard that the response that of course it's worth it because this this is who our kids are going to be so that is an incredibly incredibly continuous idea but today we require families to go into debt to honor honor that central commitment and I think that that that data really needs to be questioned and the conditions that produce it undone well. "Tiffany decent once a giant shark kuri. And she's board for her last meal and charcuterie and Saloum e are basically the same thing sharpshooters, French and Saloum is Italian, and these are cured and salted meats so for the Italians that's your shoot, oh, you're spec different kinds of salami, and the French have their own meets, plus Pattase and terrains and one of the best places in the country for handmade Saloum me and Salu me wrapped in bread. Which is a specialty dish called the sandwich is called Salumae in Seattle's oldest neighborhood pioneer square. Salou was open twenty years ago by Armandino batali. Mario batali dad and in nineteen oh three just blocks away. Armandino grandfather opened Seattle's first talion grocery store seven years ago. Armandino retired and sold the shop to his daughter Gina and her husband, Brian. And last year, they sold most of the business to Martigny, Greg and Clara vineyard, and I have to admit when I heard about the sale, I was very skeptical. Salou me is a much beloved Seattle institution. There are lines around the block every day. It's a tiny shop. There are no frills. It has old world charm, amazing food, and even though it's only been around for twenty years. It feels like it's been there forever. If you don't live here, you might not know that Seattle has had insane growth over the past two years. There's tons of construction all these cool buildings have been torn down. We're losing our dive bars lots of change in the city. So I have this protective feeling over little Salou me that it's going to be changed. And that it's going to go away. And these two main women are going to be responsible for it. But it soon as I met clear and Martinique I instantly love them. Like I wanted to be their best friends kind of love them. They have so much passion and love and knowledge about Salumae, both the business and the cured meat that I am here to reassure you that Saloum e lovers. You have nothing to worry about Martinique talks about why Armandino batali opened up the shop twenty years ago. This was really actually a passion project for Armandino. He was a Boeing engineer for many many years when he was ready to retire. He had always wanted to do something and food and had a passion for cured meats. So he actually spent some time in Spain Italy really learning the craft. So he. Prentiss for almost a year with some of the best cured meats makers in Italy and Spain and he really developed his own technique. So I think what's cool about what Armandino did is. He learned the traditional ways of doing it. And when he came back here, he put his own spin on it. You'll notice that a lot of our products are have sort of that foundation of that classical techniques. There's also sort of an American twist on them and Armandino loves to think about himself as sort of cook rather than a Schaaf and that he uses his own flavors and process to really make a unique product and then about seven years ago, he sold the two daughter Tina, so she came in. And she said her her training for that was that Armijo asked her to create a flavor. So she created our grooming, which is an orange and Cardamom salami, which is amazing for the fall. It's got this like really kind of rich spicy citrus flavor to it. They used some nontraditional flavors, but manage not to give off the fusion vibe, they make a chocolate Molay salami with cinnamon police ancho peppers, and they do a black. Pepper and curry Finocchio, Anna. Can you explain what Salou MIA'S is? Because I think for a lot of people if you say saloon me, they go do you mean salami? So Filleul me is basically the art of curing meat, and that's not just salami that also applies to whole what we call whole muscle meat. The distinction is basically salami is usually ground up pork with ground fat special spices, we can add special starter cultures to that put into a casing..

That's stop messing around back there from Nathan dear supreme leader Clave and Lord of the multi verse for the past three years. I haven't seen a girl in college or relationship would be on and off dating over those three years. We would be together she would break up with me. And then I would convince her to take me back. This happened for two and a half to three years in college for parents, recently, divorced and this open derisory were father's mental abuse and lack of care towards her. She broke up with me a little before we both graduated college again. And I finally told myself I was done trying to bring her back, and I just wanted to move on. Then she came back to me and seems to have changed and has realized a what of her deep seated issues she wants us to get back together. Make things work. There are still feelings I have for her. But I know feelings are not always to be trusted. I always pray to God to open doors. He wants open closed doors. He wants close any advice would be helpful. Should I he's asking should he move on? Or should he give her another chance? We'll look on paper on paper. There's nothing wrong with sitting down having a Cup of coffee with her in real life from your letter. I think this is an unhealthy situation. Okay. In real life from your letter. I think this is an unhealthy situation. This woman breaks up with you and you go crawling on the earth to get her back for two and a half to three years. He repeatedly breaks up with you. Remember the song the old four seasons song? No woman's worth. Crawling on the earth. Truer words were never spoke you go back and keep going crawling back to her. And finally, you say, you know, what that's enough. I'm not going to do it. You know, the whole secret to relationships is that women are people too and the whole secret to women's relationships. That men are people to you do not want to be in a relationship that has just some kind of echo of some neurotic problem one or the other of you have you want to be in a relationship with another human being that has an erotic romantic element to it because you're of opposite sexes. That's what you want. And that's not what the sounds like to me the other clue by the way is the fact that you wrote to me if you knew this was the right thing, you wouldn't have written to me. You're you knew somebody had to tell you that. This is not a good thing. No matter what your feelings are there. Other women in the world from Edwin dear luminous, cue ball of intense lamented Saloum nation, I love your cultural take on current affairs. It sets.

"So, yeah, one hundred miles an hour with the same from green sleeves. Do. Do do do as has that sound that the Doppler effect on by one hundred and something. You can buy something. Yes. And have your kids screaming. From the car. Yeah, go ahead. But to your point, you NASCAR fans probably wouldn't put up with that. I think they know they would know enough that if you had a fake engine sound wouldn't they wouldn't put up, but but again, like anything else, you know, people involved slowly in things of all slowly in the thing with NASCAR is going to happen tomorrow. It's going to happen down the road, maybe ten years, I don't know, and so they're going to slowly get people interested in those sounds. But yeah, I, I really think IndyCar and NASCAR looking over their shoulders, but they're developing their own Elvin their own. Issues was electric in batteries, overheating, you know you, you know, they haven't had a battery failure in the formula e now in what it's been since two thousand fifteen. Yeah, to that. So. Well, well, one a lot better. One issue though is going to be running those high speed ovals for long periods of time. I think the formula race only less th right now at this point, that would be a problem. But again, both NASCAR and IndyCar do run road races, they run on on city streets at least the cars do. They were in Detroit. So you know, you could pull it off now as I understand it though, with the formula, there's no pitstop you just when you come in, you get out of the car and get into another course. They don't work on the one car because the battery life isn't what it needs to be. Right, right. That's a challenge guessing with the introduction of people BMW. The they will address that because they're already you sing electric cars, sear, yes, I could tell you what see that makes a lot a well basically is the this laboratory that that will all change racing dramatically. But again, when you look into the future right now, it's hard to see it, but I do think formerly or electric car racing is future. Yeah. And I think the other thing too, is now one of the drawbacks of cityscape driving is that or racing is that you limit the amount of people that can come see, very, you know, however, there's nothing more exciting because you can change the course track any way you want well, and it's very challenging. I think Sam said, if you screw up one of those street courses with with a formula car, it's going to hurt even a hundred forty miles an hour when they wrap it up to one seventy. I mean, it could be fatal action. And pretty quick if they don't have the barriers put up like they do one on the indie tracks or even on the form the winter x, you know, they don't have a lot of time to fix a street course. Run around aware of that there were. So they have to be very precise in Sam said, if you break a little too late or you celery little too early out of a corner, I think they're going to them introducing a whole raft of formulas in the sense of leave. There's a kind of saloon car, which believe we'll start with the tesla, put me in baby. That's what I want to Saloum cars that the tandem car, two seater or getting wants to..
