My guest today is Paul Salisbury, Paul is the co -founder of Everlasting, a digital currency hybrid custody initiative founded here in New Zealand but making its way all around the world going global, welcome to the show Paul. Thanks Andy, it's great to be on the show again. Great to have you here Paul, look we'll do what we do at the beginning of the show, it would be nice if you could reintroduce yourself for the benefit of those listeners or watchers who are unfamiliar with you, with who you are, just love to hear a little bit about yeah I guess your personal and professional story, crypto journey if you like and what has led you to where we are today with Everlasting. It all started right back at 2012, I was over in Switzerland and yeah did you know kind of come across Bitcoin, thought it was really interesting but it wasn't until I actually moved back to New Zealand at the end of that year that I was like I should go a bit deeper and maybe there's some more use cases here that aren't explored and you know looking at payments and international transfers that side of things personally was quite exciting but then professionally things ramped up pretty quickly so by 2014 helping one of Australasia's first Bitcoin funds based over in Sydney to actually structure their controls and security using multisig for all the you know the Bitcoin that they were amassing at that time on behalf of their investors so that started me down the security side of things actually looking yeah okay and since then I've also founded Blockchain Labs which was doing smart contract auditing and you know professionally I've worked with everything from individuals, fund managers, lawyers, companies, DAOs, protocols and you know treasuries on chain to make sure nobody loses money right that's always the goal at the end of the day. Yeah I like it and look listeners just you know for some additional context here I should point out I guess that I have known Paul professionally and I suppose the New Zealand blockchain circles for a number of years and as as much as sometimes you can think in crypto man it is it gets really depressing when you see all the different exploits, hacks, scams and just the the general nefarious activities that that do go on and crypto sometimes you think man there's just so many bad actors I can you know a heart hand on heart say that Paul is a good actor he I think you'd describe yourself as a white hat Paul in terms of the security professional space. Very much part of that doing responsible disclosures on ongoing you know vulnerabilities all of those kinds of things and that's also to your point there something we don't hear as much about we hear about when there are losses and we don't actually celebrate when hey we got out in front we actually prevented a massive loss of funds and sometimes the confidentiality around that is warranted so people aren't panicking or losing faith in that particular protocol but yeah this means that we only hear when things go wrong but there are actually a lot of professionals like myself that are very tightly coordinated around the world to try to be in front of as many of those vulnerabilities as possible. Yeah so well a shout out to the the white hat community if you like all around the world doing their best to advance the technology forward on behalf of the good guys so I guess that's it's kind of nice context then Paul to learn a little bit more about Everlasting and I can see that there are you know different branches if you like to what you guys are trying to do but I think that the core of it is you want to help different segments of the crypto user community keep their assets safe so perhaps we can begin there however you like just tell us a little bit about what Everlasting is.

You may not like the franchise but you had to like yesterday because they did a lot well. Tyrod taylor was spectacular. Not just deficient and protect the ball in play. It safe did that. Yesterday and some of them you could tell the die hard with everything that they do or the playoffs. Trust and there's a few of those it's like okay guys. I mean you get that. You got texans face pain on. I know why you're picking them to go to play a little little overly ambitious. Yeah i think. It's i think anybody that lives in reality of the situation of what the football team is most likely to be knows. That good solid win. I enjoyed watching a good football game that they played yesterday. If they're going to win you might as well make it nice. It was a nice victory. I think like we all expect when they play teams. Because you don't have players and then those eight to ten or six eight plays a game where you don't make somebody else. Does you end up three and thirteen or three and fourteen. What was corby at tech. All they'd lose like sixty tan yup get crushed that would be think about how good alabama but david. Here's here's what. I would say your coach and seventh graders. I think he said and i'm going to assume does yellow cuss them out. You don't do that. I would say this. And i think it's important to deal and did it. The whether it's the coaching i've done or coaches. That have coached me. If you're playing a game. I assume that your teams prepared. And you've practiced well and done everything you need to get them ready to prepare them. Which is your responsibility as you know while whatever camp you do or whatever practice you've had leading up to your first game i guess two things that stick out for me number one for seventh graders make it fun. Make it enjoyable. And that doesn't mean don't keep score you damn right you keep score understand twelve year. Seventh graders what twelve eleven twelve years old right now. Rain somewhere. Your twelve eleven. Twelve that the oldest nephew's thirteen eighth grade. Yes right in that. Range is make fun for them. Number one to is got to keep them engaged by having to you know play calling to where everybody gets to roll at it and i would say as a coach you don't have you're not obligated in my mind. I hate to say. hey you know how. When you're little league pitcher every parent thinks their kids should pitch. Yeah i've never felt that you have to. You owe that to anybody. Play them all doesn't mean out to play the same position right right. The best player should play. If you've got a quarterback who's the best in your winning by forty play the other kid if you're not that kid deserves to play. But i would say make it fun. I give them a reason to want to come back. And secondly as far as game. Trust your coaches. I would assume the guys the parents whether it's volunteer or coaches i. I don't even know seventh grade. If i would assume that that's volunteer here. But back at the parent that just down there. But trust your coaches and make sure in. I'm telling this is the most important thing to me. Build their self-esteem in the cell at seventh grade. There's still fragile. Hell we're fradulent. Forty let alone let alone the eleven and twelve build their self-esteem which means teach him correct them when things i mean correct them but if you wanna get on them probably do that when they're winning and if you want to When things are going bad that's when they probably need your arm. Put around. And mike i ve always said i go remorse on that because when you're winning and get criticized it's like they can accept it when you're losing and beat them down it's a self esteem crusher. I can't do in right fragile age. Have fun build their self esteem. Make sure they stay engaged. Taught him well and allow the guys that are there to help you. Love your coaches to coach. Them and one thing mistakes are okay. Tanaka play perfect. So you'd be you're going to have to be the most patient of the group because seventh graders are gonna drag crazy at times i. I'm looking forward to one day. Coaching teams in some kids. You know when. I have kids one day and it listen. You're not we don't know about. I don't know necessarily football pry driving. That's probably yelling. i'm doing well. Here's one that's okay. It's okay to raise your voice during the game. It's okay it's okay even in practice to kids to hear a distant different decibel. I don't mean we are screaming and cussing and face masks but it's okay they got it. Listen the one thing about. It is great players in every level seventh grade. It doesn't matter the they. They want to be coached. Great players want to be coached but build their self-esteem. If you're the coach trust your instincts of your preparation you know the prepared. Call your game plan and be able to make a justice but make it fun for them. Build their self-esteem trust your coaches and it's okay to still coach them up. It's okay to let them know when they're when we gotta fix things they got to know the difference in what's right and what's wrong but if you make fun and build their self-esteem the they'll come out of this with the great experience wanna play. There's nothing worse than a coach. Who beats down kids to the point that even if they're a good athlete they don't wanna play anymore because they just they hate it. Nobody wants football's tough enough out is. Don't let the coach be the reason you hate it so you'll do great but dave just go out there david and coach them up but have fun self esteem. Trust your coaches and it's okay to To to continue to coach to back off and we're not keeping score when they make a mistake. Especially when the jumping off sides disciplined matters they gotta learn it now but in the right way and then finally parents. This is no disrespect to you when the game goes on david. The parents don't get a say sorry about that. They're they're asked to sit in the stands. Don't dwell bad don't don't pander well this might not like me. It does not matter the kids sell for the these kids need to be taught respect and they will. I'm sure you've coached them up and loving it. Some parents yelling and screaming over a play. Your your coordinator called or play. You called the philosophy of this. If you're a parent that wants to yell and scream. I got an costs us out not positive but negative yelling that little league paired pop warner parrot. You've football. I suggest you take your ass out of the stands come volunteer help coach so charon and all. That's fine but get rid of the parent's opinion during the game does not matter period. No disrespect parents. Doesn't matter in their say does not matter david. The biggest problem with coach will get into his pandering to parents in the stands. Because they're pissed at you because at no time this year is going to be happy with you. Coach them up. Show them love. Give self give them respect teach them self esteem teaching how to have fun and coach them properly. Coach them up to learn and get better. Help them get better but do not absolutely do not during a game lead the carrots dictate your feelings on your football team because there will be a two or three parents that are going to ruin it for you. "The stadiums. Were was awesome. I mean me and my friends were just practicing our to- tipping in the end zone. You know exactly lock. Julio jones will do in the middle of the game so we did that. That was a lot of fun. Got a free drink. At the end of the tour the stadiums beautiful. I highly recommend that. If you're in vegas you definitely go to a raiders game. Even if your team isn't there if they're playing for the hell of it just go okay. So that was most of friday met up with a bunch of people with a little bit saturday. I actually hit the sportsbook. Put down some bets. Put down some parlays. None of them hit. I cried but that's okay however the highlight of saturday and for anyone listening to this. This is an absolute must. Do i highly recommend you go money. Ranch it was not the buddy miles guy saturday. We go to circa which is circa casino downtown. Las vegas off fremont they have this thing there. That's called stadium swear describing stadium swim is two levels. Six pools totals and it has a one hundred and forty three foot tv. That is forty feet high. And like like i said one hundred forty three feet is basically go there when there's good sports game because there's not like the middle of the screens are all the sports on the side day bathrobe in this pool by the way nobody throwing this case so that was good so in the middle of the screen. They have all the sports that are growing up. There was probably ten games. Eleven twelve games going on at the same time. They're showing every single one of on the sides. They have all the betting lines like look. These guys have favored by whatever blah blah blah blah blah and. You could live from your phone while you're just chilling in the pool and these are depots. They're basically three feet six inches like waiting pools. But i mean it's their you could watch sports on it so i'm they're drinking in the pool. I mean you're familiar with. It's like never be able to get deep. I mean you see your gave that i see what you did. So they're drinking in the pool. It was amazing we were able to rent out a cabana. We were there for five hours. The food was amazing. Best food that they had. They brought out these things which were basically called corn dogs. There's no corn dog or hotdog in it it's lobster. That's bread in like the corn dog. Breading on a stick. Eat fried on a stick. And it's absolutely amazing you have ever had in my life. What a great time. It was so much fun. Like i said. We got drunk all day on the paul. I could live there and see would love this. You would love ver ver as big like gambling guys as we are when we go to vegas. Yup everyone who loves sports and like say you go girl on. Your girl doesn't love sports. You're going to have a great time okay. It is just that much fun. The cabanas where great the staff was great. The food was great. I was looking at the. Tv was amazing. I'm throwing money here. Money they're so much fun. Did you go into the sports book to go into the sports book. We stayed up the mgm park and they have an mgm sportsbook in there. All you didn't go to the you didn't go to the other one. The new stadium. Sportsbook the circle when it was brand new and that inside the hotel massive think. It's phenomenal every seats cozy. It's massive. you can spend your whole day in their own. I never went on that person. I could live in vegas be totally fine. I'm sure and. I don't think i'd ever get tired either. Because there's always something just brand new. It was so much fun had an absolute blast through the weekend. Like i said everyone who donated to the fund. We a joke. But thank you so much. You guys have in the six months that i've been here and i still can't believe it's already been six months in the six months that i've been here. You guys have been nothing. But the nicest people ever. I cannot thank you guys enough. You guys have greatly taken me in with open arms. And i absolutely love each and every one of you thank you. That's awesome dude. Nets' Aldridge Retires at 35 Due to Irregular Heartbeat
"Said breaking news in the nba so oddly out of nowhere after trade after he's released and signed as a free agent or trade average aldridge played five games. The brooklyn nets is announced retiring from the nba effective today and he's wrote a letter out on twitter. He says my last game. I played while dealing with an irregular heartbeat later on that night. My rhythm got even worse. Which really worried me. Even more the next morning. I told the team what was going on and they were great. Getting me to the hospital in getting me checked out though. I'm better now. What i felt that night with my heart. That night was still one of the scariest things i've ever experienced that being said i've made the decision to retire from the nba. Fifteen years put basketball. NFL finalizes $100B in media deals that will help transition fans to streaming
"So yesterday. The nfl announced a new set of national tv deals Keeping games on espn slash. Abc fox cbs nbc and nfl network. So here's the big thing of course. Cbs games are going to stay with the afc. Fox games are going to be nfc sunday night. Football will stay on nbc and monday night football games. We'll continue to be on. Espn however sub will be on abc so abc will finally be getting some football games and back the big one. Though is thursday night games will be exclusively on amazon prime making it the first streaming network to really have an nfl deal.

"Texans quarterback deshaun watson now faces multiple civil accusations of sexual misconduct and their sports angles. But this is a story. That's a little bit different.
