"Night, saying that after eight o'clock you're not allowed to be on the streets. And the given what happened in some of the communities are a lot of people. They kind of agree with that, but Ah, Guo, alas. The protesters did not agree with it because they shirked the the the the curfew they're out and about in near bag downtown in downtown Phoenix last night, tweeting little bit of problems in the central ring, other service circuits, we have Sam Stone Chief of staff for city Councilman Sal to Cecile and Sam. Last night we heard that if started out fairly peaceful, and then it kind of turned in the end. Is that true? Yeah absolutely the history of the things James at least the last few days we've had you know what couple of hours of very peaceful protesting which I certainly had a ton of respect for. And then it's gone out and. Thank goodness for the Phoenix Police Department and the effort they did especially last night they stepped up in a big way. We had over two hundred and fifty I think Iraq the last two nights and downtown. They are taking these folks off the streets, and if you were out or if you were saw any, or you know if you're uber driver, someone. Someone's was still out last night. What you saw was the entire three thousand person. Phoenix police department on the streets in every single neighborhood EXC every commercial center and you wake up today to a city. That's still looks normal because of our police department contract. That's what's going on around this country. This is the right way to do thing Jerry Williams. Police chief paintings deserve a ton ton of credit you. You don't see him stone I agree with you. She does deserve a ton of credit. She needs to hear from the community because strangely I haven't heard too much from Mayor Gago on this whole issue, and at this is a liberal run city, but for some reason we were blessed to have a h e Williams. Who really doesn't play and they're still professional. End The pushback it's it's it is gratifying to see my question is what will these people who are in jail charged with will be. Will they be held responsible for the chaos? They've 'cause. Well. That's the big question that still yet to be answered James. The first night of these protests, we arrested just two people. And I'm pretty significant charges in one of those, in fact had a bunch of Warren's, and they got down to the jail, and the the administrator just turned around and let him right out. And? You know chances that we rearrested. Those same people are pretty darn high. so we're waiting to see one of the things about the governor's order and I I have my questions about a week long lockdown, but One of the things about it that it upside potential penalty you can face a fine of up to twenty five hundred dollars and six months in jail You know we need to be Karen simple if you're out there looting if you're writing if you're lighting fires and causing damage and doing the things we've been seeing. We need to throw the book at you. You need to go to jail. You need. Stay there for a long time might question is how could it be? Why were they just release were allowed to sign out. What good does it do? If you go to arrest two hundred people for looting for for violence, and then they're not going to be punished. You're not going to hold them accountable. That's. That's crazy Ville. I'm not putting that on Chief Williams, or do I need to responsible? Who made that call? No James? You definitely don't need to be putting that on Chief Williams. He'll is a little bit. and i think that he he should be i think that the the left here in the valley made the same steak has made the same stake that the left beta stage last night out there miami with the debates They pushed too hard. They pushed too fast. And now does going to be pushed back from we the people. right here novelli i talked about the fact that you had the the the mayor mayor geigo who opened up this can of worms by going on this listening session calling for a listening session we want to hear from the community Is bogus on his face, and is something that liberal politicians do all around the country. And now I'm more visit ever is just a platform that they are providing for the radicals. and that's why we hear such radical speech at these events shut down the city shut down the country no peace no just no justice no peace all it is nonsense all of this up evil and when you look at even from a historical perspective the left has just bastardize the march the march is used to be about a piece Nonviolent resistance, now it's turned into no violent rhetoric that is even broken out to actual violence. you have city councilman cetacea which is rare actually calling it out calling it out and i think that is extrordinary that he says you know what the city of phoenix and even more specifically the police force the chief of police should not negotiate with terrorists sit net negotiate with an chris analyst Shouldn't do it. it shouldn't be done it should be the same policy that the united states of america have you know what will you don't do that when you do negotiate we could talk about ill look what happened what barack obama negotiating negotiating with terrorists like the iranian state sending the pallets of money in the middle of the night or what we get for it this citizen council oh i didn't know that they wanna give they want to give them actual power the power that the police chief has It's dangerous. More importantly, it's stupid. we have a real problem here is rising this can of worms is already open as if you've been following the news we're getting one breeding at least one new individual new family a week that's opening up a lawsuits threatening lawsuits against the city threatening lawsuits against the police And we have the, the, the Republic, the local newspaper here, just coming out with more hit piece more hip pieces on the police hit piece after hit piece got one in the paper today. Phoenix officers who killed fleeing suspect have four prior police shootings between them. Oh. And then they go in into depth, and they give you the information that give you links. They actually followed the links that I found out that the these officers who were involved with prior police shootings of the people they ended up shooting had weapons. amana loss almost for words at at how we've come to the point where people who are attacking the police people who are caught in the midst of breaking the law committing crimes and they're armed somehow are the new heroes when they end up getting got by the police Is, is like it's like you're turning crimp the criminal criminal element in the community into the new roles of parks people don't understand history. What Rosa Parks head to head to go through the Chelsea. In. To not sit at the back of the bus. The new civil rights heroes, coming from the community are straight up criminals. I want the media to know that not everybody in the city believes this crap because that's what this is all wrong. No, you're wrong. "I'm Jim Sharpe. You Arizona's morning news. Coming up protests name calling at the Phoenix city council meeting where protesters hit their boiling porn over recent allegations of excessive force by police officers. We we're tired. It's our top story. And here's Jamie west. Now, you're wearing a black t shirt with the words end police brutality, written in white and red councilman. Carlos Garcia from district. Eight asked the city manager to take a closer look at a citizen petition. It was filed by the community activists representing the family at the center of a controversial video that shows police pointing guns and yelling profanities at a family during a shoplifting. Call. I would like to know is that is a possibility. Is that a real thing that in two weeks? We will vote to actually make the this firing happen Garcia butted. Yes, on a seven hundred twenty one million dollar police budget and says he hopes this is the beginning of real change in the police department. The budget passed. Councilman Sal Decio push back after a big crowd of unhappy citizens express their concerns about the police spending. Decio got really angry after someone at the podium called the Phoenix officers murderers, if you want to be polite they're not murder in the not wrong. If you wanna talk about process, you've talked about that, but you do not call them means protesters, insist. They'll keep at it until the city fires. The officers involved in the incident tried to get the city council to freeze budget proceedings for the police department. How are we going to fund a organization in our community who continues to harm the community instead of protecting the community? Patients, Pierce doesn't think the city council will listen, wait Paget considered chief, Jerry Williams disingenuous, when she said, change starts with the community, which she later said, includes police, the butts, and the you need to are not the kinds of things that should go with apologies or explanations councilman. "Now, they're starting to call him racist, because he's sticking up for the cops. I mean it devolved into absolute just nonsense mess as I said, I mean, they're not anarchist. I'm not going to go to CCA calls them anarchists. But Sal makes a good point. You're not gonna take this incident and totally whitewash, pardon the expression, the entire Phoenix police department. If you wanna if you want to express yourself, that's fine. But stop shouting the name calling because that doesn't do anybody. And you know, he's loving this Jarrett Maupin the people who are behind, Jarrett, Maupin love this, it is descending, into and being more divided which only only satisfies Jarrett, Maupin agenda, rather than coming together and figuring out how to how to make Phoenix PD a much better police department and how to make the community a much better community instead of your racist. No, you can't name. Call me. No. Your this is this is absolutely ludicrous. I'll be real honest here. They're probably two people in Phoenix that liked to hear themselves talk more than I do. And that is Sal Decio, who's never met a microphone, didn't like. And Jared Maupin who's never been a microphone. You didn't like these guys are loud mouths. They always have been there, though the they like to shout louder than one another and they got into it. They got into it personally. But continue because I because I mean. Hear about twenty seconds left, right. There you go. So more name calling because that's the only okay but, but also you see that Maupin likes this and I think you're right. But don't think Sal, the CEO doesn't like this either because they're the people who are saying, some really bad things are helping to make. Okay..

"So you can do it while you're holding a baby in one arm and a bag of groceries. Just say, hey, Alexa, play five fifty KFYI on iheartradio. You are listening to the conservative circus. I your ringmaster James t Harris on Wednesday March six David a Korn DC bureau chief for the ultra liberal mother Jones, flew into sky harbor airport in Phoenix while there he claimed on Twitter to have witnessed a hate crime targeting dim it girl Alexandria, Cossio Cortez. According to corn while hustling between flights he popped into. What are the restrooms where he found the racist graffiti, targeting Cortez on a wall above a toilet even posted a photo of the toilet with a digital black streak on the wall above it. There's only one problem it never happened in the center ring of the conservative circus. So we have Sam stone. He is a chief of staff for city councilman Sal Decio. Also, he pinned this piece in the air Zona daily, independent Sam stone. How did you get your hands on this blockbuster story? Well, it's a little too easy. I think that David a Korn who is the DC bureau chief for mother Jones didn't understand that he was dealing with the city government that actually still has elected Republicans elected conservatives in office. Or he's just an idiot. I mean, look in the in the in the wake of Jesse small let you would think that the the left was slow down with the fake hate crimes with the hoax stories, but humid here we are. We got the the editor of mutter mother Jones, picking on Phoenix. Yeah. So I mean, basically, I got a text on Wednesday that went out from our aviation department. That said that there was a report of some racist graffiti at the airport, but then there was nothing else that followed up on it. And so I kind of let it go last night as I'm sitting at home. I see this Twitter exchange between David corn and some folks, and he's basically saying, oh, I don't have the imagination to make this up. And I connected that that he was talking about the incident at sky harbor. I read into it. This guy says he flew here. He went into the bathroom, and there he saw some racist graffiti and Arcadio Cortes, and I said none of. This minds up because if that actually happened I would have heard all about it from our aviation staff. We would have had information come back to city council here. So late last night or late last yesterday afternoon. I put in an information request via the city for any original photos any information, and that they had about this incident or other proof and evidence that it had actually occurred. And when I got a call back from aviation this morning. Here's what they told me James. And this this was I mean, pretty pretty solid. This guy never filed a police report. He never contacted any staff at sky harbor to alert them to this all he did was posted on Twitter. And then aviation department heard about it from other, folks. Because obviously, this guy's got a huge platform. They heard about it. They went and looked at his tweets. They reached out to him to say, hey, where is this? What's going on? How do we fix this? And he refused to respond, and then they kept reaching out. And he still refused to respond eventually told him. Well, you can follow me on Twitter, and I'll help you out. And then he sent them the same photo he posted on Twitter, which is a little about toilet with some blackout, computer. Blackout above it. Aviation staff center people through the entire airport terminal. He was in. There is nothing zero evidence any of this ever happened. He made this up out of whole cloth. Making Phoenix in our airport. Look bad it is offensive. And this guy needs to be called on the car. This is a major match national media figure..

"If you want to put the smarts in your smart speaker. Hey, Siri Alexa, Google play, the smartest station. You know, the only one I can think of is five fifty KFYI on iheartradio. Not what. Thanks for being here. Big sexy. Things talking about the border issue. Obviously big for the entire country. The economy all of those things are very important. But right here in Arizona. There are things that are happening. Sal decio? Phoenix city council talking about the water rates going up in the city of Phoenix. What the Phoenix city council does affects you first and longest if you live in Phoenix, whatever city you live in. But also, we've got a focus on what's happening all of us would say on both sides of the political aisle. It's always about the children. They are most precious resource are the kids. So when it comes to education for some reason, the Democrats are seen as the ones that are better handlers of it because they're always the ones that want to just throw money at the problem. But. When it comes to education. We all have a vested interest. Mine is now with brand children not children, and for many of you you're in the same boat that I am watching what's happening with red for matters. Because this is a movement when red Fred started, we most people are on board. I mean, it's seventy thousand people down at the capital, it was unnecessary. Because by the time, they got to the capital, they had already been insured that they were getting the raise they asked for it was a political movement. I warned teachers that got on board with red Fred you are being dragged into a political movement that you're not going to be a part of and a lot of teachers that I was friends with were upset with me at first say, wait a minute. We will you deserve a raise. And I said, I know you do I'm with you on the race part of it. You're getting dragged into politics. So if you remember how it went. Read for read said, we wanna raise the governor said, you know, what you're right. So he went to the legislature, president of the Senate speaker house and said can we get this done? And they said, you know, what we can get it done. We're gonna get them the twenty percent they've asked for over three years. We're going to do it. So the governor came back a couple of days later and said you're going to get the raise. Well, Joe Thomas who had taken over the movement by then who is the head of the unions in Arizona week as they are. And Noah carve, Ellis, the self socialist and guiding Derrick Harris was no longer here. Rebecca Garelli on these red. Fred people said, we don't believe you, Mr. governor, Mr. MRs legislators, we don't believe you. So we're going to walk out of school anyway, and they did seventy thousand people strong. And a lot of you don't know this, and I can't drive this home enough. The legislature worked on a budget that over a three year period gives teachers at twenty percent raise half of it in year one. And they were working on passing this budget until the wee hours of the morning. Do you know that leadership of red? Fred Joe Thomas, Noah, Carvalhas, Derrick Harris, all of them with their friends and in the democratic caucus in both the house and the Senate tried to kill that budget. Do you know that they want a governor Ducey gone so badly that they tried to kill the twenty percent raises for the teachers? So they could say it never happened. Like, they said it wasn't going to. And I will I will respectfully cast out the invitation one more time Joe Thomas. Derrick Harris has gone Joe Thomas miss corral. Noah Corvallis, any of the leaders of Red Front, even the new one J Budo any of you out there if I'm lying about this. Please call me out send me an Email. I will read your E mail verbatim on the air. You tried to kill the budget. You tried to stop the raises from going through to the wee hours of the morning. And when the Republicans passed it anyway, Joe Thomas ran to a podium and congratulated the teachers in attendance saying that it wasn't the dirtbag legislature or the dirtbag governor that got it done. It was the teachers in attendance that got this done. Did he tell those teachers in attendance that he was working behind the scenes to try to kill the budget? Did they do that? They didn't they didn't. Well, one of their five demands was no new tax cuts. Now, why in the world at teacher organization as long as they're getting the increases they asked for give a damn about tax cuts shows, you why this political I'm bringing all of this up because tomorrow is the day. Day. Tomorrow is debate in the legislature on a couple of tax cut measures. And they have been red. Fred has been imploring teachers to leave school. Take the day off sign up to speak in the legislative sessions in the committees. So that their two minutes can be heard and they can show their protest. Now, how many teachers are going to do this? I don't know. But if I were you, and I had a student or a grand son or daughter in the valley schools. I would be asking the administration my kid's classrooms going to double in size because teachers are taking the day off. Are you calling in a a more than usual amount of substitute teachers because teachers are taking the day off? If they can question you if they can come after you and ask you why you're taking your child out of school to excuse an absence. You certainly can do it for a teacher. Why are you taking the day off? Well, that's your business. Well, I tried saying that about my students when I was taking my student out of school. And I said, it's none of your business. Why I'm taking my kid out? And you made me explainer was an unexcused absence. I'm not trying to set up a war between teachers, and parents, I'm saying that the teachers and parents should be working together and red Fred claims, they're all about the students. Well, if you're walking out of school to go to a committee hearing in the legislature, you're ignoring the children. Now, your argument is going to be long term. It's better for the children. Well, that's what you have lobbyists for you pay. Joe you pay Joe a lot of money. He makes a lot of money to lobby on your behalf. Let him go to the legislature and state your case, you're gonna take schooltime off really. And how about May Day. Why don't some of you start asking your kids what they know about red? Fred what their teachers are saying about red. Fred, why don't you start asking in your school if the principal and the administration is going to give excused absences to teachers on may first or May Day to walk out in. Solidarity with teachers across the country. Maybe if I were you I'd try to find that out. Contractually? They're not allowed to do that. If they do they are in violation of the verbiage of their contract and could lose their jobs. I am in favour of teacher raises fair teacher compensation. I admire the job that teachers do across the board. Even if you're in support of red, Fred if you're a good teacher. Thank you for the great job you do. But if you're walking off the job for political reasons, you are ignoring the very students you claim to be fighting for and we haven't even gotten into and probably don't have time to get into the strong arm bully tactics behind the scenes because tomorrow is Wednesday. Tomorrow's the day that all teachers are supposed to wear red. And if you're one of the teachers that dare not wear red man, they write your name down. You're not a team player. You're not with us. You're against us. It's like being in high school all over again. It's the breakfast club all over again. That's what red Red's turned into. That's what they've become. I've dared them. I've challenged come on the show. Call me a liar proved me, I'm lying. I'll admit I'm wrong if I'm wrong. They haven't said word one they've gone underground. They have tried to. Hide from me. Sorry to hear that about a congressman Dingell congressman Dingell was my mother's neighbor in Virginia. And I remember. Watching him mow the lawn. So this is when you lived there by mom lived there. And I'd go back to visit. And I was like the one she goes, well, congressman Dingell, and I always struck me as the congressman mother-in-law. Yes. The answer is so congressman Dingell. Yeah. I had a chance to speak with him on many occasions certainly wish the best for his family. So the Suns arena deal. Remember this? It was gonna happen. We're gonna vote in December. And then it came out like what they're gonna vote on December. And there was a lot of taxpayer dollars involved in this. And so there was a human cry. Then we said, okay. Well, we're gonna how will the few more hearings for this? And then we're going to hold a vote. The vote happened it passed taxpayer money two hundred and thirty million dollar total deal to refurbish, renovate whatever you wanna call. The sun's arena. So what changed what's changed? The reason. The vote was delayed in December one of the big reasons was. They didn't have enough votes to pass it. Right. Exactly. They didn't have enough votes to pass it. And we had on a councilmember, Sal deceased CEO who was really arguing for. He was a hard. No prior to. Yeah. Them tabling it and having public discussion, and he seemed to be a hard. No. And let me be clear voted. No on was consistent because he said it needs to be a better deal for taxpayers. Okay. We need to negotiate a better deal for taxpayers negotiate negotiate negotiate well devoted to pass. It what changed was it. The public perception of the deal chain. Was it these meetings they had public meetings where people got up and said, I want you to spend money on the Suns arena. Did they get a better deal? You know, if the council members were really hold his sons hands to the fire here, not so much looks like that may not have been the reason behind it. When you take a look at the council members who went from being either a no or on the fence to voting. Yes for it. Stop me. If you've heard this one before I hope you're sitting down. I hope you won't be shocked if you find out. That they basically accepted money and took dollars from the sons or dollars from the deal for their pet projects in order to change their vote. So their opinion on the Suns arena might not be changed whatsoever. They just have a price now councilman Noah Kelsey was on the fence like he. He wasn't. He wasn't. He wasn't like a Sal Decio hard. No on this. He hadn't come out firmly for or against right. So what we find out is that he demanded that some of the rent. Paid by the sun part of the deal go to homeless programs earmarked for homeless programs that is a pet project of his and so because that money wasn't already in the city budget. Apparently, he said, I will only vote. Yes for this. If I get X millions of dollars for homeless program that is coming directly out of the basically the rent, and I think it's like, you know, what if you want my yes, vote, I gotta get something out of this one isn't. So I don't know I kind of expect politicians to do this. You know what I mean? What about this congresswoman Guevara? She was she was a no, right. She was annot. Yeah. We found out that sure I'm gonna use the term pet project is a head start program. It's a great program free preschool for children in working class family program. She learned in January that the city was going to cut that program in some way, shape or form. That's not good. The money isn't there? She met with the sons to find out if they were quote, any additional investments in our residents in neighborhoods in our future. What we found is that. The owner of the sons Mr. server wrote a ten million dollar community benefit investment check. And amazingly. She's a yes now. Okay. I don't know about this though. Are you like I mean, I? Fits with my narrative that they don't actually have any principles. What you actually think about the Suns arena and wasting taxpayer dollars is a relevant. What's in it for me? Okay. You give me enough money. I'm a yes, you give me enough money. I'm no, whichever side pays me more politics..

"Just bashing Roberts Arbor saying, you know, you can't can't put a team on the court. You're asking for all this money for in arena. Well was there an actual potential perk? For city council members who supported the arena deal, you could make an argument by the amount of money that Robert server actually gave to the campaigns of the city council people that. You know? I mean, there's only one caveat. But the people who voted for it got some money, right or they will get some money to reelection Sal Decio who did not like the deal did not support. It has gotten the most money, but isn't but still wants the sons to stay here. So I mean, an argument could be made did server grease the wheels enough to get the city council on board because the actual deal was only disapproved by two people queuing eight here MAC, let's see how good you are. You ready? Why do politics what what's the end game for every single politician we've ever met in our entire life to get elected? You get reelected reelected is their job really to better. You know, the public. That's what they'll tell you. That's what they'll tell you. And that would be a lie. Okay. So if they're real goal is how do I get reelected if you are indecember last December on the Phoenix city council, and you're a no right on this arena vote. Let me see. I'm a no right now. Server finds out on. No, maybe I'll change my vote to a yes. So I can pick up some cash. The next time I run for real. Just to be straight. There's no we don't know that. But if you look at public records lot of cash was put into city council people's coffers to get them elected by donated by Robert server, so you can make the logical jump of. Did it was it much more palatable? Because server said, hey, look, I've given you money. Can't you support me? I rub your back. You rub. My back everything works out. I think there's a very good likely idea that you know, you have a politician. That's I'm not saying that they were bribed correct way. But but again, if if they were dead set on a no in December, and all of a sudden in January, it's fine. And makes you think, and it makes you think that they're probably going to get some money from Sauber cassava likes to give politicians money. Which is smart. Awesome. Wait and see. "Afternoon. News. Wednesday's always brewer time here and the former governor of Arizona will join us said about three zero five or so we've got a lot to talk about. Politics, politics, politics, either federal, national or local and state politics stringer. She's got an opinion on everything. So we'll talk to her three or five you ever wonder. Why the Phoenix city council members did a one eighty and decided, yeah, I like to sons arena deal. Yeah. Because in December rating like you said, they didn't have the votes. You know, people started talking about the sun's gonna move. You ever really wonder if there was any potential perk to the Phoenix city council members, supporting Robert sovereign the sun's arena deal. If you listen to the mayor mayor fell to Williams, she says, one of the biggest turnarounds was because when people knew that the deal was about other people paying a tourism tax. It wasn't going to affect like your water. Bill was going to go up your property. Your property Bill wasn't gonna go up or your taxes. Weren't going to go up. It's people coming and going in at a sky harbor using rental cars. That's when she says things turned around and people wanted the deal by saying, oh, my taxes aren't going to go up. Okay. Or because I mean, there's no secret. We don't like politicians. We interview them all the time. But there are a lot of politicians out there. We don't like a lot of Weasley politicians out there. Did it ever cross your mind that Roberts Arbor, the owner of the sons? Is is a pretty good person that. Gives donations to elections. Council members maybe who supported the arena arena deal one if they could secure a few bucks from server in future elections, if you voted yes for the arena deal. Don't you think that Roberts Arbor the owner, the billionaire the sons guy, right? We might give you a little thank you note. Put a few thousand bucks in there. It's an interesting premise if you go over the the amount of money that supposedly Roger sorry for has given to the campaigns of the city council members. Right. But it's interesting that Sal Decio was against this tax. Didn't like it and has gotten the most money, but still says, well, I'm glad that sons are still staying. So I it's a great premise. It's a great theory. I don't know. I just don't know did the sovereign by influenced as he by political political political probably does he by any gift with these council members by donating. But if you're number one guy that you give the most money to still doesn't like the deal. I I don't know what to say about it. But it's an interesting premise that's for. Sure. Yeah. But now you have you have these city council members. Who said, yes, I'm for the deal. Right. And now that they said, yes. And they know that server gives out money to politicians. They're kind of on the take care, but his, but does that mean south Decio gets? I think it means that if you voted yes, you're probably going to get a check in the mail could when it comes time to for reelection. And that's one reason I just can't stand Bala politicians one other note here though, I mean Robert server is no idea how to run a basketball team. Absolutely no clue. He's horrible. I mean, he's such a smart guy because you you can't be a dummy and be a billionaire. So he is a smart guy. He's no idea what to do with this team. But I'll tell you what to get this deal past. He was brilliant. He sent his president out there. He sent members of the sun's out there. He showed up once. I mean, he played it. Brilliantly. If only he could do that with the actual basketball team. It'd be great coming.

And tell me if this does not creep, you out here, comma, your comments today are perceived as a threat against Mary rose Wilcox media people. We talk Abou that's nonsense is that. Nonsense. All I did was up. There talk about the matter. All I said was say she deserved. I I I have no regrets over what I did. That's what it's saying. Trying to shoot Mary. Absolutely not. No, no, no. No. No. No, no, no, political reason, I shot her in the buttocks. Trey killer deliberately shot her in the buddy. Said at the time he tried to kill her. I said it would have been okay. Wow. How how can this guy still be on the streets? I don't understand. How can a man who shot? A politician is shot a Representative because he didn't like he didn't like the fact that she is she voted for tax was a tiebreaker. And I completely understand that. I could I was completely enraged when the Democrats forced ObamaCare on we the people. I was even more enraged when the supreme court Justice said that it was a it could work it for where tax as if you could legislate from the bitch. But not enough to shoot anybody. And you would think after something like this happened. That an individual like this would not be allowed back into a. Back into a political situation. But as you heard Sam stone, the chief of staff for city councilman, Sal Decio, we don't we don't have any laws for this. People didn't anticipate this. And so now, you got this guy. And has no remorse whatsoever. For shooting a miracle pursue supervisor. None. It's a bizarre twist that takes away from the fact that you know, Phoenix is getting fleeced once again. But I think that those lawmakers need to try to come together. And come up with some type of solution. Because I don't believe this is the last resort to hear from Larry naming. "Ashley flood on Arizona's news station. KTAR news. You've heard the headlines get some perspective now with Bruce St James and Pamela Hughes. Good morning to you. Happy thursday. Let's jump right into the nine o'clock hour a major vote last night at the city council. The lead brought to you by Berge Ford off the US sixty and makes sure Dr. Yeah. Major vote on a controversial much anticipated. And scrutinized deal is deal between the feeding city council and the Phoenix Suns at the end of the meeting last night, the two hundred and thirty five million dollar renovation plan was passed a proposal pass by six two two vote was Sal Decio. Jim warring voting. No. We now have the city on the hook for roughly one hundred and fifty million and the rest of that being picked up by the sons. Yeah. And as expected, although I think the thought the boat would would be a little bit closer picked up one vote on pick. Yeah. No big deal there though. Right. Not going to change the outcome of it in the slightest. And again, it is what it is. And it. The sons and the other three professional sports entities in town will be coming with their hands out again looking for more money. But it is what it is. There were some tweaks made to the deal because you may remember it was back in December. When the deal was kind of released to the public less than a week before the council was supposed to vote on a little shady the way, they were trying to hustle it by. Yeah. So then there was some public backlash. There were some community meetings and negotiations continued with the sons now at the end of the day how much the city is responsible for and how much the sons responsible for hasn't changed much since December. But what we find out is that there were some tweaks to the deal requiring the sun suspend ten million community benefits. We also have the city is going to hire someone to oversee the renovations and the city will commit a million and a half rent increase from the sons to go to homeless issues. Yeah. You know, it's gonna go for puppies and firefighters and police, and then everybody's like, okay? And then you can waste the money that way. So having said all that. And again, I'm against every single one of the publicly funded sports stadiums period. Full stop the meeting last night. Was it got weird? It got a little awkward. When a guy showed up. Like city council me they let people get up and speak for. Thank you for public input is the word and the first time I saw this is I was looking on the Facebook and John hook from FOX ten. Everybody posted a posted about this saying a guy just came in and got up and spoke. Okay, any he looks familiar and people started to put it together, especially when he started talking, and he was the guy who spent twelve years in jail for shooting Mira COPA county supervisor Mary rose Wilcox over the Diamondbacks stadium deal. Here is that guy step into the Mike speaking, and you can imagine everybody in the room their shoulders like went up to their ears. What is this? Take a listen on August thirteenth nineteen ninety seven. I walked into the miracle county board of supervisors auditorium and shock Mary rose. Wilcox over the baseball stadium taxman. Okay. Hold on. I got more from him. But like everybody was like are you walking into the Phoenix city council on January third. And are you going to shoot some people getting up like I love the sons, and you know, they do this and economic developed guys. Like, hey, I'm the guy that shot the Maricopa County supervisor I walked in. A board of supervisors meeting in nineteen ninety seven and I shut he just walked in to a city council meeting and everyone goes do do. We know how this is gonna play out. You must let the public vote on this matter if you go ahead and pass it you're crossing the line. It's equivalent to a bloody act violence against the public. I mean, if that doesn't sound like a threat, I don't know. What is you must let the public vote on this. And if you don't it is a bloody act of violence against them, right? Okay. Mary rose Wilcox who recovered, thankfully. Oh, yes. From being shot by this guy was there. Is caught on video by the way in ninety seven. I mean, this isn't a mistake. The guy went to jail for twelve years did two years of probation. He went to prison. He's back out. And apparently. He hasn't changed here. So peel the curtain back a little bit for our listeners yesterday. We talked about the Suns deal and the council vote that was coming up last night. And you and I were sitting in here. You know, we got our paperwork reading this that and the other and and I was sitting over here. No joke, folks. And how Bruce I totally forgot about this. What's that the guy? I didn't know his name is Amy. But I'm like the guy who shot Mary rose Wilcox deal. I totally forgot that that was you know, that that happened over the d backs and he goes. Yeah. You go. Yeah. Me too. So that was yesterday. Yeah. And then when I hear this morning that he showed up he spoke at the vote at the final meeting. Oh my goodness. Just text me goes I would have dove under desk at that point. Because it sounds like the opening soliloquy of someone who's about to pull a gun out your comments today perceived as a threat against Mary rose Wilcox. You media people. We talk about. Well, what are we talking about? This. This is after the meeting, so he's he's standing there and all of the TV and radio people putting microphones in. This guy's face trying to have a conversation with that's nonsense. Nonsense. All I did was up there talk about the matter was not like you said it would be a lot of your time. Attack a violent bloody attack run the public. And in case anybody wasn't clear reminded people. I'm the guy that shot the county supervisor. Yeah, I say she deserved. Saying I have no regrets over what I did. That's what it saying. I've got no regrets. Do it. Again. I was gonna say did is this being inaccurately reported. About trying to shoot Mary rose. Absolutely. Not we didn't try to shoot or did he joined to assassinate? No, no, no. No. No. No, no, no, political reason, I shot her in the buttocks. Oh..

"On ninety two three FM. The sun's stadium deal. This has been something where initially we heard about it late last year that there was going to be this vote and some people argued count me as one of them. It seemed like they were trying to kind of sneak one in under the wire. Right. And I think that that's what a lot of people off is that they were getting notified at the very last hour on what is going to be paying a hundred and fifty million and the sons are going to be on the hook for eighty million. We're going to vote on it Friday night at seven o'clock, you know, type thing anybody know about the city thought everybody would go along. One to the city has gone along with the people in the city of Phoenix have gone along with these kinds of measures. It's your app. How much money? Do you need the answer's yes. No, it wasn't the case this time. So there have been a series I postponed that an actual vote at the analyst. Yeah. Backlash the they scheduled some more community meetings city hall meetings, they been taking input and today's the day. They're going to be voting. Yeah. They're going to be voting on it today. And I will concede that is soon as you start talking about taxpayer dollars to fund any kind of sports facility. You get this like knee jerk reaction from people myself included going. Yeah. No, no. No. No. No. No. No, no. Let's wait a second. What's going on here? And that was the initial backlash. I think that when more discussions took place more explanation were given that the city's portion of the deal would be funded through an existing tourism tax. You had more and more people that that weren't so upset in fact, some even got on board as supporters so today again that vote is going to take place and earlier in on that earlier today on. KTAR? Yeah. Talk for a living. You had Sal Decio? Who is on the Phoenix city council. In fact, we talked to him last week as well. And he is not in favor of this deal. Here's why he's not in figure of it. We are landlords. We have landlord responsibilities to fix the arena. The question is what exactly are we supposed to be doing? And why are we not sharing the revenue stream as landlords you expect the person that's pretty in the majority of the monies to get the majority of the the revenue stream. I don't know if I agree with a lot of this stuff. And I'm kind of go down the same thing. We're Sal is philosophically opposed to a lot of this taxpayer dollars to things like this. I disagree with that analogy, though, let me put it this way. If you are a landlord of a strip mall. And somebody rents. Spot in it. They pay X amount of month, if their business does really, well, you don't get more out of it. So I can I can that analogy falls short with me. I think the bigger issue is should any taxpayer dollars be going to subsidize sports teams. Yes, we are the landlord in this. I think that's to me. That's the fundamental problem. How the heck is the feet the city of Phoenix a landlord for a sports venue in a concert venue? Maybe that's the bigger issue. So I will acknowledge I'm trying to fight a different fight. Well, yeah. And that's an issue that you know, you gotta take up some twenty six years ago. I I took the problem is and I will won't disagree with that. But the problem is and look at Glendale that once you start down this path. It's a bottomless pit of money. Let's talk about that. You can never get out of it because the arena out in Glendale or the stadium rather out in Glendale for the cards is about thirteen years old. So guess what they need renovations. What have we heard from the Diamondbacks? They need renovations. Yeah. So. There's a lack of hand out of their hand is one of the rare cities where every professional sports team has their own venue. They don't share. So now what's happening is as these arenas and stadiums and facilities all get up at age one city one team, not necessarily it's one city with four teams and four individual places to play sports there now fighting with each other to get the limited amount of public dollars that are out there. And I wanna make the I would like to argue, and I think so this is your councilman kind of on page. Least bring the consistent argument, I'm opposed to taxpayer dollars going to subsidize sports venues full stop period, including all of them, even my favorite teams. Even my favorite sports. I just don't think that's the role of government. And the city of Phoenix is it rolling in enough money that it can be throwing it around and building and renovating stadiums. What's done is done? I think what you're going to see never Lucian and a change in people's mentality. People were willing to fork over the cash some thirty years ago when this was first instituted now. Now, he's starting to change because they're looking at how these deals are good. Well, it looks as though this deal though today when the city.

"On how politically insiders subvert the will of the citizens, you need look no further than what city manager Ed Zuqar did behind closed doors Zuqar, a strong proponent of light rail gave an attorney on contract to the city of Phoenix. The go ahead to sue Phoenix citizens to stop a filed initiative fixing our roads and initiative signed by forty thousand Phoenix residents innocent to ring of the conservative circuits. We have Saudi Cecil's chief of staff Sam stone. Sam the headline of Saudi Cecil's op, Ed your boss, reads, Phoenix out of control, can you? Please tell us how is it possible that a city manager can give a city. Contract attorney a waiver to sue a city resident it's worse than that. James? I mean, they're not just in one city resident effectively suing forty thousand city residents who signed a petition to end the destructive expansion of light rail on south central and the fact of the matter is the city manager did this without talking to council without talking to the public. They are proving that they will do anything to stop these citizens from having a say is this doing anything or is this an act of desperation? Well, I think it's an act of desperation, but appearance simple. What you're seeing? This is early in the game. Right. I mean, these signatures haven't even been fully verified by the city and they're coming after like this. What that tells you is there frayed, and they will stop at nothing. The bureaucracy will stop at nothing to protect their light rail boondoggle. We have Sam stone. He's the chief of staff for Phoenix city councilman, Sal desisto. They'll stop. Nothing. But I this is unheard of. You have someone suing citizens for basically signing a petition. Yeah. I mean, you know, what they're what they're going. After is basically how all these signatures were gathered. But they're doing it in a way that is is absolutely unethical. I mean here you have a city contract. Attorney been paid over half a million dollars his firm over half a million dollars in the last few years, and they're cutting him out and saying, hey, no problem. Go ahead. And sue the people were paying you to represent these this. This light rail opposition that supports these ridiculous trains. They could have hired any attorney in the country any attorney in the state that they wanted and who do they end up with a contract city attorney that tells you how far this bureaucracy we'll go to subvert the will of the public. We have Sam stone that he is in the central bringing the Caserta circus. He's a chief of staff for Phoenix city councilman Saudi Saudi has a op Ed in the daily. Independent today Phoenix out of control Sam have you heard from the residence. What are they saying about this furious? You know, I mean, look you have a basically a bunch of resonance of south Phoenix, small business owners longtime residents evacuated unity who have banded together. Not taken any outside money. Not taking any outside help. They've done this on their own gathered forty thousand signatures to to get this on the ballot to stop what they see as as the destruction of their community that they love. And then this is what happens to them. I mean, this is this is the worst thing you can see in government. It makes me sick to my stomach. It is actually very very disturbing. Does. There seem to be an acknowledgment by the Democrats on the council that the city is out of control. Oh, there's no acknowledgement by them at all. I mean, you know, it, that's what's really disheartening about this thing. You have all these city departments right now are are engage. Aging in politics, in a way, they're not supposed to you like people to decide the political direction of the city. But because these folks are so invested in their own projects, the billions of dollars it's going to come to their friends off of these light rail deals. They're not gonna stop at anything. They can't let this go back to the voters because only one percent of our transit passengers even use the stupid train. So if this goes to the voters chances are pretty good is dead meat, and they can't allow it. We have Sam stolen the center bringing the conservative circus. He is the chief of staff for city councilman Sal Decio. It is obvious that the politicians as city insiders as you said, Ken, not let this go to the public because the public will vote it down. I believe that as well. But what's more shocking to me? Sam stone is the utter contempt for the public. The absolute utter contempt for the voting public and the willingness of for the for the furthest. Insiders to put the taxpayers on the hook for millions of billions of dollars. Absolutely. And it's not just this one thing. This is you know, if it was just this one incident. The councilman wouldn't be saying the thinks he's saying that this is a pattern. We saw this with the arena deal. Right. Whether you supported or you don't this one hundred fifty million taxpayer dollars and the city basically came out a less than a week before they intended to vote on it and said, oh, here's the deal. Now, you gotta pass it. They came out less than forty eight hours with a tax on all the medical marijuana. Dispensaries in town that would have been a quivalent to about one third of their total revenues, and they came out with that tax forty eight hours before they intended to vote on it. And so we keep seeing over and over these last minute surprise packages from the city. It's coming from city staff. They are completely out of control. It is irresponsible. What they are doing is beyond your possible. It is absolutely vile. The op-ed pieces called Phoenix out of control. It was pinned to buy a Phoenix city councilman Sal desist. Yo we have Sam stone the chief of staff indecent. During breaking this whole thing down a Sam what can the tax payers do to respond to this latest revelation? You know, what they need to do? You know on a big issue James, I think this is going to surprise people. But not a big issue. Our office might get a half a dozen phone calls. If you wanna scare the ever loving daylights outta your city council member have fifty different people. Call in to them on this stuff and get fifty your friends who are out there bouncing over potholes tearing their cars apart. So that we can have one percent of our population riding the train has them. Call their councilmember whoever. That is wherever they are called the mayor, call all the council members and say cut this out. Look, we don't support this. You citizens need to take this back. They need to stand up make their voices heard these city manager Ed Zucker, give him permission to what attorney to sue the good people of Phoenix. Sam stone breaking it down for us at five thirty five. We're going to talk about Nancy Pelosi. A lot of reaction to her being sworn into speaker of the house once again, it's a two for..
