I came was the us at the Saint Louis Rams won the Super Bowl. So you are good luck. Yeah. So that was a really extraordinarily experience. So of course, I had my thing was Williams had on the next time. I went to Los Angeles. And I went to a dodger game. And the folks there, you know, helping helping me in on my hat, and oh man the Rams or I should get guys interested in. Triple. The lady go. I just did it just sort of you know, Pocono little bit. But everybody Sean the the Rams champs. Yes. And they are champs and that was fun. You know, doing it was you know, I got a kick out of you help the blues out a little bit. But they don't need help. They don't need any of this kind of like you down to do. Doing marvelous. Tell me this about the Saint Louis walk of fame. You you guys rock and Roll Hall of fame members so many honors over the years. This is a little bit different. What does it mean to you that this town that you kinda Dopp did wrap their arms around you in this way? Oh, that's marvelous. Because we. "Goodness. So this is the alliance of American football and San Antonio. Did they beat San Diego? Jacob did. They took. San Santiago, Santiago. Okay. Yeah. They beat Santiago and San Diego. Let's see I got I got I gotta start the fleet the San Diego fleet. Now this team is a Mike Martz team. Formerly of the St Louis. Rams rams. My Saint Louis Rams the greatest show on turf. That's right. So my Tom Brady dynasty. That's right. So Mike Martz is the that's right. So Mike Martz is the head coach of that team. I'm assuming I believe so okay. Look here is what is cool about this leak. It does. I don't know if anybody anybody plays at out there. But I there's this mode and Matt in two thousand nineteen two thousand eighteen to video game for the NFL called longshot. And so basically, it takes you through the story of a guy. I never play. I think I started to play. I believe what longshot is is. It takes you through the story of guy who wasn't drafted highly in the NFL draft. And it's just he's lost shot. That's it self explanatory. And that's basically what this league is. I do think it is cool. It is very similar this league. Hopefully, I if it gets to the af which premiered this weekend this league. Hopefully will finally be a true minor leagues to the NFL. We haven't really seen that yet. We've seen knockoffs of it. We've seen leagues like the XFL in the past try and compete with the NFL literally trying to compete. I don't. Believe that this a app is trying to compete with the NFL first of all they're not gonna play at the same time. So this literally is happening right after the Super Bowl. But one of the things that you, you know, the minor league baseball doesn't try and compete with major league baseball the G league and the D league an MBA. They don't try to compete with the NBA they try and be their own separate entity. So one of the ways that they are their own separate entity. Is they have rule changes? Now, there are four rule changes that I think are actually pretty cool. These are the major rule, I should say changes. These are the rule the role differences if you're just trying to get it. If you wanna watch football, the af we were kind of making fun of it last segment, but I do I did watch some today, and I did find it. I was into it it first of all it's again, it seemed to me like a very professional broadcast like how how stuff is transmitted to you as very important. How stuff is promoted is very important is one of the reasons why the minor leagues are never going to. Like be on TV or never going to be a big deal. Minor league baseball. If it's promoted correctly, if it looks professional, then you can take it seriously, and it could be professional the minor league baseball that's much more. And I do think that also by the way, this is going to be a very regional sport. Like, I just like, Memphis San Antonio Birmingham. Like, obviously, you have some big cities in there. Like, Atlanta, San Antonio, Salt Lake City Orlando, this is people are people at San Antonio are not going to follow the Salt Lake stallions. Like, it's going to be a very regional think you're going to know the people will follow this league. Like people follow their college sports teams. They vow college their football the people in Alabama. Don't know the Clemson roster up and doubt, they'd only Alabama roster up and doubt. That's how it's going to be like NFL fans. If you're a true diehard NFL fan. I'm a giants fan. I know that he goes roster. I know the Redskins roster. This is that's not what this sport is going to be it's going to be. Very read. That's the target audience is to get the people within their community really really into it. And one thing that I do think that they did very well also here is I was watching the the Salt Lake stalling it's game tonight Utah. There are a lot of people on the roster. Lot of the players on the roster went to Utah colleges like the members of the Utah utes Utah state. So again, it the target audience being a regional sport. What are the way you ways, you can make that happen is to bring in people that they already know stars for, you know, a former star for the Utah utes a former star for Utah state. Oh, okay. There's that guy that running back who is so good who I went to their game. And I saw him score three touchdowns. He's still playing football for this team. Oh, I'm interested. And I think that that's a really good job, and it's strategic that they structured rosters that way. I think that's something that people can get excited about because there are so many kids that play college football. So many guys that excite you that are. Electrifying on the college level that never really can pan out in the NFL for whatever is this is a platform for them. There's no question about it. So like, I know tvos off trying to be a baseball player. But don't you think he would be perfect for one of these leagues? Totally perfect. Yeah. Johnny manziel. I know he didn't pan out in the Canadian Football League. But that doesn't matter at does. They might go to one of these schools that these things who knows. Okay. So I wanna go through these rule changes. Let's start with our number one rule change number one. No kickoffs. I like this. This is something that has been criticized by the NFL because of injuries that's the main thing because of the uselessness they also want to speed up the game a little bit. So in this league was spotted at the twenty five yard line. I like that no kickoffs. And it also it all of these different things that I'm about to talk about they're not trying what I love about than the most is they're not trying to be the NFL. They're trying to be unique. They're trying to make themselves different. Okay. So no. Kickoffs is something I feel like this league listed to criticisms of the NFL stuff that the NFL has been trying to change. But it's like all with the NFL we've been a staple for such a long time. Can we really do all of these things at one time? Well, I think there's also a chance for the NFL to look at some of this stuff works like it's a practice. Absolutely like cow major league baseball uses the minor leagues for like pitch clocks and other things. I think that's a great point. No, absolutely. I think this could be the NFL's testing ground for all these. There's nothing wrong with that at all. So no kickoffs in this league. That's one of the rules that are different number two point conversion attempts are mandatory now to point that we feel goals with extra points. We moved them back. Okay. The NFL has done made that change. Oh, it's too easy. That was the criticism of the NFL. Oh, extra points are too easy. So the rule amendment that the NFL did was we're gonna move them back make them harder. This league says no extra points. You've got to go for two. And I like. That because the two point conversion play is entertaining. Here is another play. That is more entertaining. Now. The onside kick the onsite kick is no longer allowed to happen. It's not allowed to happen in this league. Okay. Fourth down and twelve if you would like to do an onside kick, you can't do it. You have to do a fourth down and twelve play. Now, I like this because I think there is a higher probability of converting a fourth down and twelve then converting an onside kick. So that that gives the team who's trying to get an extra possession. A better chance of doing it fourth and twelve I think this is a really good adjustment to it. Now our fourth one number four all right now blitz limitations this one. I think is cool, and I was talking to Alex gold of the gold standard before. And he was saying he didn't like this. I'm curious your opinion, only five man. Russia's are allowed maximum. You can only bring five again, the reason I like it is just because it's different. It's it's a it's a it's a change from the NFL. Why not just see what happens? I I don't I don't really know what the effect will be. I don't I don't really know if I really will notice it. But I just like just the fact that it's different than the NFL. We're not trying to be the NFL. We're trying to be something different. And I think that's a cool little wrinkle in it five five-man. Russia's are the maximum. So what's the explanation behind it? I have no idea is it for safety. I have no idea. I think it's it might be. I honestly have no idea. I just how I found these hours. I was watching the game. And this again, why the broadcast was very professional. They listed these out. Okay. At the top just some of the major differences between the NFL and the af. And and I noticed that. And I didn't really think anything of it. My my only thought was literally this is different. And I think different is cool when you're trying when you're trying to not when you're trying to you're not trying to compete with them. You're just trying to create another option after the season. Okay. This is football just in a different form. And I think that's kind of cool. So I would encourage you if you're a football fan. I would encourage you. You to at least try it..
"saint louis rams" Discussed on Izzy and Spain
"Always go back and listen to all Spain and fit some really good stuff. Especially for Mike Pereira. Great stuff from Keith Olbermann and Tim Kirk to on the baseball hall of fame stuff. We asked you guys earlier. And this is a tough question. I I'm still working through what my answer would be on the second question. But what we were thinking about Saint Louis Rams fans a bunch that. I saw their team come from LA and then lose them back to LA. And we've heard from a couple that are still rooting for the Rams they consider them their team, despite you know, whatever city there in that's still their team. And plenty of people who say the Rams are dead to them quite literally that was the option on the pool. Eighty six percent of Saint Louis fans who responded said Rams are dead to me. Just fourteen percent said. Still my team. It's going to be coming up even more fits with the raiders. And the chargers a lot of fans of teams that are moving trying to figure out do I stay loyal. Am I getting a replacement team because that makes a difference on? So that's what we asked. Everybody to think about if your favorite NFL team left your city, and you were not getting a replacement team. Would you keep rooting for them rather have no team at all? Or just choose another team, whichever one you want. And this is the close one thirty eight percent said they'd still be my team. Thirty five percent said choose another random team twenty-seven percent said rather have no team at all. I can't imagine the Chicago Bears anywhere. But Chicago, but if we weren't getting another team, I think I gotta stick with them. I think they're still my squad. I it's about what you identify with. You know, it's it's interesting too. I think we'll part of what makes us really difficult for cardinal's fan or sorry for Saint Louis fans. I'm looking at the word cardinals like. Pointed out by big Mook on on Twitter. He said I had to do this with the Saint Louis cardinals the team moved to AirAsia. Like, we've forget the Saint Louis is a city has been through this before. Now the cardinals eventually go back to a Super Bowl. But it's not like it was in close proximity to win. They moved from Saint Louis. What makes this particularly heartbreaking is that the the memory of the Saint Louis Rams is still very fresh for a lot of people as remember that the LA Rams haven't even built their stadium. They haven't even finished the new stadium and they're already in a Super Bowl. So I think the reasons he is part of what makes the sting so stinking much. Now, I I mean, I can speak to I grew up in LA raiders fan. And a lot of people don't realize that. I mean, I'm forty one. So when I was a kid in Vegas. Everybody was L A fan. So it was the raiders and the Lakers. That's what you grew up a fan of and and Vegas entire life was raiders fan..
St. Louis Rams Fans Are Already Feeling Tortured by Super Bowl LIII
"So where are Saint Louis fans now like where does their fandom lie with the NFL? So it depends on who you talk to you. It's kind of a mixed bag. A lot of people are really apathetic and don't care about the league at all anymore. I know a lot of people who the day that it happened canceled there, and if I'm at work subscription, instead he know what this is a corporation that doesn't want anything to do with us. So we're not going to put them emotionally. And we're not gonna support them monetarily, I visited another group, and I phoned to this group mostly going to describe that you really still love football and you've loved watching the game. But you just share against the Rams. It's kind of like the NFL is certainly evil in your mind, but the Rams evil as everything that they've done to you personally. Oh that to your every week whichever team playing the Rams so sure there's a lot of people in Saint Louis waking up begrudgingly having to go patriot today because I don't know if you guys have talked about this part of it. All ready having the Rams play the patriots for St Louis Rams fan or example, Rams, man. The worst possible fan combo you could ever have in your entire life. I was gonna say Michelle that was really my next question. These Saint Louis Rams who we know really kick started this version of the patriots dynasty with that match back in two thousand. Nd and to do you have in your heart to openly cheer for the patriots at this point? Or is this going to be a Super Bowl where you're almost like a conscientious objector, you just abstain completely from this? I was actually texting with fellow co worker. I wanna yes yesterday Randy character, and he was very emotionally invested in the Ramsey's PF L owner from the beginning. He was one of the people that spoke at the town hall meeting really passionately in favour of Saint Louis to keep the team. And after the patriots advanced I was actually with him. And he said I've gone through a movie on Super Bowl Sunday. I cannot cheer for the ramp, obviously. Because of what they did to St Louis, and I can't you're patriots. Because a lot of people are sitting St Louis thinking, you know, if the patriots they win that Super Bowl, you know, the Rams wouldn't have gone on this day losing spiral and because of the team losing so much. It's part of the contributing factor for them ultimately moving it's part of the argument that hand cranking company presented to the league. Like, hey, we haven't been. Advance import hasn't been best. It's okay to rip the seam out of this community. So I be grudgingly wanted to for the patriots because seeing Sankranti hoist the Super Bowl trophy and have people cheer for that. That's something that I can't stomach and if it if it doesn't happen. There's a lot of people Sandler's we're gonna have to go underground for a while. But I will be watching the game patriots. I know a lot of people in Saint Louis. We'll be going to believe that day. We're talking to Michelle small when you can hear them one on one ESPN Saint Louis small move formula to go out of your what heels Saint Louis in the relationship with the NFL at this point anything. I I don't really think anything we'll never get a team there. Again. I don't think Saint Louis wants that. And I don't think that the NFL could really figure out a way to do it. It's just it's a relationship that I think is too fractured as that camping. But a lot of people now Jeff wanna see them suffer. I just wanna see them have no success. That would make deserve. I mean when this the news I came down initially about the Rams leaving. I think a lot of people who were outside Saint Louis didn't really look at a lot of the contributing factors shift. I think they were like, oh, yeah. It's the middle market team. If the middle market, and you know, people don't necessarily care about the Rams their baseball town. If I was a business on I want to be in LA, it has don't look at everything the league gate leading up to that point that put fan Lewis on a really big cam-. I mean to tell the cities. Yeah, you guys put together this massive project. And it's not the plan by the land will keep the team and for Saint Louis do that and put hundreds of millions of dollars public funding on
Saint Louis Rams, New England Patriots And Tom Ackerman discussed on Total Information AM
"Tom Ackerman. We have ourselves a Super Bowl, and it's the same one from two thousand one's season in two thousand to January of oh. To these teams played each other. There was the Saint Louis Rams against New England Patriots at that time. Now, it's LA the Rams and the patriots will play in the Super Bowl in

"The rams. And so the coaches show tonight will be two former NFL winning Super Bowl coaches, Brian Billick who coached the Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl championship. And also dick ver- meal got there with the eagles. And then it with the Saint Louis Rams, Bobby. I'm gonna tell you this. We've done second guess back in early nineties. I think is when we started the third time I can say this has happened. We reaching the NFC championship game. And all three times I've done it with you. All three times we've had it. Well, we've done it here from the slip up while we live in right? So so something's right about it. So for only the third time in saints history. Saints playing in the NFC championship game against the Rams and playing at home yesterday was a bit of a twisted a turn of a game. First quarter, totally dominated by the eagles possession. Two-to-one plays time of possession fourteen and nothing and then almost like the switch was flipped. All of a sudden this football team got back in it didn't give up a hundred yards. Total offense in three quarters. Get one to turnover ratio dominated in their monoplace. I do think the game changer. Play wise was the fake punt. But that's seventeen play drive to me was that kill shot on the eagles football team. And you always need a little bit of luck. I say this all the time somebody wins the Powerball or lottery, they're not good at picking numbers. They lucky yesterday. How many times that we've seen in a game receiver ball goes through his hands? Saints defensive back has a shot for the NSF doesn't make it yesterday. Marshawn Lattimore came up with the play football. Look, I we lost. It a Vikings last year. Exactly. So you gotta be luck getting good. How the ball bounces your way you can make your own luck. But you know, saints fan, you don't need a panic people. Oh, no. Oh, here we go. Again, the glasses half empty not have full when you look at. We're down fourteen points. Do you know we won the Super Bowl? You know? We're losing by ten points. Yup. Two scores. I mean, you can't get to one score. Right. So I'll always look at that. Would drew Brees and Sean Payton that Kanye weather. The storm now what's impressive. How we beat the Rams last time we were up three types out. And they came back that that to me is impressive. Whatever you could come back three scores to me. Seventeen points or more. Then you could be concerned as a fan, but if it's like sixteen or under go for two and all that you gotta you gotta just understand the abbot floor game. And obviously, you gotta take advantage opportunities. And you might have to be a little gutsy. I thought that was the right call to go far on Ford down. Simply not like drew Brees the quarterback sneak are running a plate you to even your territory, but they do the fake put like it. It would taste of hill established back. I think that was a great call. I liked the percentages there. But then you never know how games good unfold when you look at that Dr. You know, we went forward and scored a touchdown on fourth to what have you don't score as fourteen zero. We all remember what happened against the cowgirls. You remember when Shawn Payton decided not to go for the field goal. Right. And then we don't get anything and you come back at the end of the game. We lost thirteen ten. So you never know how it's going to end up. So I think that was critical where we scored that touchdown to make it fourteen to Santa Monica send by so we're gonna win. We're gonna win the game noodle momentum had change. But you know to say, it seems like they always making history. And if you look at the eagles they were ahead by four points. Then the saints put together and you got count because we overcame penalties. Twenty-three plays. Seventeen yard drive was not one hundred seventeen yards on the field. But that's the way to overcome penalties. Yes. One hundred seventeen if you include the penalties that forced to saves to backtrack and regain the law shortage. Now, what's impressive you. Call ninety two yards in eighteen plays. But you know, it's even more oppressive NFL record, basically, eleven and a half minutes. Eleven minutes. Twenty nine seconds was the longest scoring drive by time in a playoff game since the air fell NFL merger nineteen seventy so that just shows you right, then that's like old school when you even playing on the high school level the team might be faster than you. And all that. And they don't have the ball. They can't score. How y'all one that's not looking at you might eat up the ball the whole quarter. Now, you turnover you gotta score. But I thought that was. Amazing time, and how we said the tone it, obviously, I thought that was going to be critical that we end up being on the plus side and a turnover margin. I think it's going to be critical against the Rams to be on the plus side and the turnover margin. But the one thing I talked about it a little bit last night. But this is something I'd said way back last last Wednesday when you get all when you're doing your homework, and you look at us galaxy something has to give 'cause you look a red zone defense and offense. You look at third down offense and defense something has to give the eagles or number one red zone defense. And if you look there were top ten they were ranked number six on third down there only giving up thirty five percent on third down. Guess what? We were fifty three percent. So we had sustained drives. Now, look like that at the beginning. Because in the first half, we were only two seven twenty nine percent, Mike, I looked at them. At half time. They were two four fifty percent. You know, they didn't make a first down there that they ended up being two of seven twenty nine percent. So ebb and flow the game we took the bo-bottle award. It took advantage of that. When you throw in there. I mean going to throw in the last eagles game. You look a red zone. Touchdown percentage. There were only giving up forty four percent. Well, you know what? In the two games we played the eagles. We've been in the red zone. Seven time. We scored six touchdowns. So I'm just that. We're not getting field goals. We're getting judge down. So that right there. We beat the eagles at their strip out third down. It are reds on offense beat their third debates and red zone defense and two is man we say this all the time. And the champions the champ. Yeah. It's hard to beat the champ. And they may not be the team they were a year ago. But a lot of guys on that team that have walked at football out. They've won those big games. And they understood that about like, Sean paints said, I'll tell you this goes a long way when you know, if you wanna beat a champion, you gotta gotta beat your man now to me that's more impressive that beating the eagles because they weren't world champion if we'd beat the cowgirls artists Seahawks in the Superdome because they were in the champs. The eagles team that was relevant, and we beat them, and we took care of business challenge against the Rams. I'm telling you right now, if you think you're not going to your heart's not gonna be Dana. You're not gonna be biting your fingernails. I think it's going down to the wire in think this game could be even closer than the eagles game. In a final. Down the we'll let you better make that damn fueled sir line wanted to. Miss. It will has to make it. I think it's going to be that close. Go down to the wire. I agree with you before we go to break at one wishes special happy birthday to my good friend. She's here tonight Donna via file Gucci's here with her husband Armand, big members at a who DAT nation, so happy birthday down. We she you come in here gal, go back, we go back a long way, Shannon, celebrated with drew Brees. Yeah. That's it. I'm not going to say how old is she? But she's almost as young as drew. He's probably forty through forty. We'll all take that. All right, happy birthday data. We appreciate you coming here tonight. We'll be back with more second guess..

"Los Angeles Rams Rams represented in this town for the longest time futility and they represented. Leading fans down losing the big game. I don't know how you want to say it. And now, they seem to have a football team that has destiny, you know, written all over we think you don't wanna comes the LA. Rams. You never want to say you just never want to predict anything the Saint Louis Rams are the ones that won the Super Bowl. Not the LA. Rams. The LA Rams just as the coach limited just said the LA Rams have always just stunk. It out skews me for putting it that way. You know? It's true. Yeah. They they've just stunk it way way out, and you don't ever want to say they're going to do anything. But something bad. You know what? I mean. I it's like you got a dog you're traveling down a road in the car with a dog. And you just know he's going to do something bad. Yeah, right there. And then you suddenly take a deep breath, and you go bang there. It is you knew you knew similar along the road somewhere along the road to dog was going to do something bad. And you go ahead, and you take a deep breath because maybe you had a cold. I don't know maybe you'd been you know, had some kind of pneumonia. So you and take a good deep lung full of air for the first time in two or three weeks and us just Sniffen. And now, you know, the dog did something bad the dog you go. And what are you? Sure. You don't need to blow your notes coach. That was what happened? You went like this it. Yeah. It was a lot. There was a lot going on up in the all right? Well, I'll blow I'll blow my nose the commercial break, and we do that. So that's that. That was the the Rams, you know. And now they're back in LA. But it's a whole new team. Now, I've heard people say. That the canary yellow uniform, it ain't making it. No. I don't think. Yeah. That's a very important. I think if the Rams I don't know who knows. But I think that canary yellow they wear at I pray to the almighty the Christian God. And I'm trying not to be overly dramatic. But don't wear those. I those home uniform God, I hope and pray. They're not I hope that when they wore the canary yellow, I think that was on a weekend. When league-wide you had to wear your dumb looking. They had a sort. I guess it was just a present the different look on one of the weekends. Right. Yeah. They had a weekend there where everybody had to put on purple. And we just a what they had to wear their wild number two wild uniform. Yeah. And so two Ramjet a canary yellow Rams head canary you, well, I hope and pray that don't have to work in area yellow. That is a that's the God's honest truth are, right. So then you had to Rams now. Who else we miss near? Will you talk about the charges and Kansas City Kansas City? That's the team that impresses me. Believe it or not more more than any other team the Kansas City Chiefs, Andy Reed's on it. They're young quarterback is phenomenal at Patrick Mahomes. Kid. He can do it. Can't he doesn't all good defense. And and a great coach. And a high powered offense..

Adam, and there should be an investigation in my view. And if convicted some of the Sears people should. She should go to jail because it's crimes against the tax payers of Cam LX land across America who gets caught holding the bag for these wealthy Wall Street, private equity, quote, unquote picks that are that have been strip mining and ruining America with a lot of government giveaways. The crunchies in the Walton Scott for sites saturating WalMart supercenters in shopping centers across came. Oh, excellent. Well, a couple of things you need to come out of your shell. Because you're a little sauce on the opinions, but you're hitting a home run here with folks in Saint Louis, and you're absolutely right. "Demarco far joins me here on ESPN one thousand and the SPF DeMarco Jonathan thanks so much for your time. How you doing, sir? I'm well. Thanks. Thanks for coming on. Can't wait, man. Looking forward to Sunday gonna be cold going to be a great environment. I'm glad the bears were good. This is going to be a hell of a match up. You know, I wish I was just a spectator for this one. Well, what stood out most about the Rams last game because we gotta start there. What what did you like most about the Rams victory? They did enough to to get it done. You know, the Rams under Sean McVeigh have been one of the more potent offense in the league they routinely put up over thirty points per game. And sometimes you get a little spoiled when it looks too easy. So when you do struggle, or when the other team gets paid to actually makes you work a little bit too to get points. It looks like people might throughout you have a poor performance. But that doesn't count in the NFL style points. Do not matter all that matters at the end of the day. Is you get the victory? So they had to gut it out against a Detroit team. That's all they've done in two thousand eighteen is beat good football teams. And they have the Rams, but they just the Rams did enough to to get out of Detroit with a win. And in the NFC west division championship Tiburco you've been on a Super Bowl championship team. So, you know, special when you see it right because you've been there when you when you see the Rams, do you see special or do they still need to work and some things to Goerner momentum? They had the opportunity to be. Special. That's the cool thing about, you know, winning Lombardi people that have won it. We'll tell you. I mean that moment in time that year is it lives on forever. It does not die those those teammates or your teammates forever. So you have stepped into an opportunity where you actually have a chance to do that. But you have to complete the mission. It's gonna be rough from here on out every team is going to give you their best shot. We just had this discussion. The Rams have gone back to back NFC west division championships for the first time since the late seventies. So and I think this one was tougher than last year's because you can't sneak up on anybody anymore. Everyone knows your good. So you're gonna get that from here on out Super Bowl champion DeMarco far with Jonathan hood on ESPN one thousand and the ESPN app when you see this bears team DeMarco what stands out most about what the Rams have to deal with you mean. Besides Khalil Mack. That's the first thing that that you think about and have to deal with when you play cargo, especially at home when he has the benefit of crowd noise. Even on the road the guy travels. I mean, he's just a monster. But when he has crowd noise, and you have to I guess, you can't alter or very your snap counts where he gets a jump on you. Well, he's almost unbearable. So that that's number one. But number two the creativity on offense. I think they've done a fantastic job. Getting everyone involved. They're very creative. Like the Rams each week. They look different on offense, and they present different problems. So I can't wait to see what they throw at the Rams on game day. But I would bet everything that's hurt the Rams from from game one. So now, you're going to see out of Chicago. The first thing I was thinking about when this matchup came up Tamargo was especially what Trubisky being out for the last couple of weeks. And now in the mix looks like he's gonna play against the Rams is rest versus rust, and I just wanna know which Trubisky is gonna be out there. Because one of the things I noticed from him is in his first progression. If Robinson or Gabriel some of his other guys are not available. He'll just pull down and run. And of course with him running. That's not really is one of the things that got him injured. So I guess that's one of my big question marks and storylines for this game is will Trubisky be ready for Donald and ready for that Rams defense. Oh, yeah. So I call guys like him grubbing-up quarterback. Sometimes the food just comes to you. And I say this I if you take the field on any given Sunday, and you have pads and a helmet on that I'm assuming you're at your best. So I don't think he's going to change his approach. I think he's going to be just as aggressive. It. Look, it's what makes them good. It's what makes them have a chance at a playoff spot and possibly beyond. So that ability you have to be able to take it. That's just the way it is. If you wanna play that style a quarterback, but on any given Sunday, those type of guys can give you fits way when you were working in Saint Louis, a talk show host. What was it like being in Saint Louis knowing that primarily it's a cardinals town, and you're trying to get Rams fans of football fans, really interested in the product. What was that like an Evan flow of sustain? Hey, you know, what football does matter even though it's a strong cardinals? Who was that like on a daily basis for you? As a talk show hosts, it was foreign because when we came to town in nineteen ninety-five we kinda took over and then I mean, the cardinals weren't. Down. But we were like every other sports team to where they were the baseball team or the football team. But we were the new thing in town. And then we you know, we we kinda ebbed and flowed a little bit. And then once we took off in the greatest show on turf kind of took over we took over the city. But once I came back to become a radio host a few years about ten years after the Super Bowl, then the Rams had fallen on hard times. And the cardinals had assumed the top spot in Saint Louis again. So I get it. I understand what you're Saint Louis football cardinals used to go through in the shadow of the cardinals when they're good. And you're not it's almost like, you're you're but you can't rule out. The fact that the fan base was rabbit. But if you're not giving them something cheer about then look the cardinals are always good every single year, especially when they have pools. Yeah. And so, but I guess it's toward the end of the the run there for you. And then you going with the team the Los Angeles. You could just see the LA fan base is so into it. And then toward the end the Saint Louis Rams fans, they they weren't showing up and not very happy. Well, it's unique man because I came in here and to Los Angeles in nineteen ninety four and then the team moved the following year. So I saw a lot of people that were there at the facility the day that we left for the last time, and you know, there were tears, and then how happy the people in Saint Louis were when the Rams showed up there. And then it happened again when we left Saint Louis coming back to LA. Wow. All these people the fan base, we built up and we were saying goodbye. But we're saying Hello to the same people. You say goodbye to a nineteen ninety four. So it's it's really really strange, but this fan base is loyal and it starting to grow with each and every victory and the more you excite them. The more people show up at the Coliseum. I'm seeing thirty six degrees. As a as a starting time. Temperature. Does that affect the Rams at all? I don't think it does. What about what about you? Well, I mean, look we we we like to tell stories about scars and the big fish that got away when you have a chance to lock up a buy in the playoffs. If you beat Chicago you wanted to be the toughest environment possible against one of the toughest opponents possible, you want it to mean something. So like, I said Chicago is always topped the bears are always tough, especially when they play the the Rams, but plans Chicago in December up there that special. This is the stop people will tell their grandkids about this is a special opportunity for both football teams. Can't wait as you've done your prep. What have you circle? Is there? Something went on the offensive line. We should look at the Rams standpoint to take on the Hicks. The treve don's the the Khalil Mack. So the world for. What I got circled is not actually for your benefit. It's for mine, and I'm trying to figure out which guy you have that can block Aaron Donald. And to be honest. I haven't found him yet. And that's no knock the guy has been on just a an n VP season coming from a defensive tackle he has been that dominant. And this is the funny thing I think we're going into week fourteen. Correct. If I'm masters, right? Yes. Fourteen thirteen whenever we are. So he has run through most of the week. And the some of the pro bowlers are coming from teams that the Rams have already played. So it doesn't matter who you are pro bowler. All pro journeyman. You're all getting thrown in the same way with the way he plays. So I can't wait to have back end Donald actually competing against each other on one field. Because when you think about it. The Rams did the right thing locking up there. One once in a lifetime talent, the raiders did not and now you have him, but it's fun to they actually get the meat in Chicago. How crazy is that? By the way on the surface. Oh nuts. Nuts. It was the off-season of Donald. And there were there was a lot of talk about. Why would you spend so much money on an interior player on a defensive tackle where you can replace him so easily? Well, I think he's proven that you can't when you're that good that dominant. He changes football games. Just like Khalil Mack are give me one of your memories of playing the bears either in Saint Louis or Chicago. What do you remember? Oh my God. We have some wars with the bears. We actually scrimmaged up there in Platte Bill. So I mean, I I hope this isn't like depressing the some, but the first time I'm standing next to Alonzo spellman way back in the day. No anybody who was a bears fan in the late nineties. They know what? I mean, when I say, I was standing next to Alonzo spellman, and I don't think I've ever been that afraid so that's one number two playing them in Chicago. And it was cold real cold, and the PA announcer says it the temperature has now reached six below zero. And the Chicago crowd went beserk and took their shirts off. And I'm like, what am I on? Oh, man. Have you ever been that close at the coldest game? You played in. I had a great t shirt on under my pads, which I never do. But it was cold. So I had to wear something under gray which shows water easily got to the locker room. It was still dry back. How cold it was? I could not sweat. That's amazing. Well, looking forward to it like everybody else's reason. Why this games Fleck style DeMarco because everyone wants to see it, right? Yes. This is where you want to be this is what you dreamed.

You want on KNX time for today's KNX football. Insider report with the NFL networks Andrews is hilliana Calton. Randy cartoon and Vicky more Andrew a couple of games this weekend. The chargers and the raiders the Rams and Seattle given your druthers which one of those games. Would you rather? Call just for the sheer excitement of the game. I would say Rams, and you're going to say that because they're the highest team while they're not technically chiefs are but they are bringing up memories of the Rams football teams from days gone. By is exciting team not named the chiefs. There is to watch. However, these Jon Gruden against the chargers think dick is always the NFL network yesterday is where you talked to former Saint Louis Rams quarterback. Kurt warner. He drew some parallels with his greatest show on earth Rams teams from fifteen years ago to this team Randy he was in the building was on the deck. Donald the field after the Rams Vikings on Thursday the Coliseum. He called him greatest show on turf to point out. Todd Gurley numbers are better than Marshall FOX. Numbers. Brandin cooks and Cooper cups. Numbers are better than Torry. Holt is BRUCE'S numbers from from that ninety nine team that ninety nine hundred points a game. But you're right now has better numbers four games. And Kurt Warner did no one saying that that they are a lock to win a Super Bowl. That is ridiculous. They are four games in. There are many more games to go. But statistically, if you want to say they're trending in that direction. You would be correct. Let's talk about fashions rents Andrew. So you are among those piling on Cam Newton for his latest, dude. Is this really the weirdest hat? He's worn the network yesterday. What what is he doing? And and then we're able to get a shot of it. Cam Newton for those who was on the podium during the second Charlie yesterday. Is you always doesn't Wednesday and yeti Panthers cap. He cut off the brim of the cap just cut it off. And it looked like a giant Carolina Panthers yarmulke now, I know sue coat was last week. I don't think he's celebrating. I didn't see him walking to work. However, it looked like a giant Panthers yarmulke Cam is a big fashion place. You often worse flowing roads and other ridiculous things on the podium after the game so badly that is now his thing. I was going to say he's Cam Newton. He can do whatever he wants. Exactly. Says it's fashion, dick van fashion. If I come in and do that. I just look stupid. Okay. So the Rams getting ready to play Seattle. Earl we're number one in Seattle Thomas out for the Seahawks. How much will that affect their defense so radio I found this hard to believe, but this is going to big we believe the first game. Actually, we don't believe this is truth. The first game Pete Carroll has coached there without both Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman, which is just absurd. So this is truly a different era yet, they're not giving up a lot of hats yards. They're going up like two hundred yards a game. So their their pass defense numbers. Really, really good. But this is truly the turning of the page Bill, boom as we knew it is is gone. And I do feel bad for early because you never got a contract. But everyone says he's going to be healthy by seasons that or rather by free agency starch which is in March. He will go somewhere else, and he will start his career again. But we had to roll that tape after a few times that. Middle finger. I didn't wanna put it on the air because we showed it live. But I don't want to roll it back and and say definitively that's the middle finger. You know, wanted to kind of zoom in and make sure we weren't putting putting fingers on his hands so to speak. It to It was all for research my friend I was looking for that scalp? From, you line that picture popped. Up yeah Yeah I mean we'll get, the Tom Brady and the the the dad Bod that he has because honestly that's one of the most stunning things that happened this weekend more stunning than saquon Barkley immediately becoming the fourth highest paid running back in the NFL that ever playing a doubt reminds me a Sean man would Sam. Donald was the last number one overall pick. Before they had the slot, system the slotting system in, the NFL and Sam Bradford got like a forty eight million dollar signing a you got a forty eight million dollars in guaranteed money from the Saint Louis Rams as a number one overall pick and immediately was one of the highest paid quarterbacks, in the NFL, without ever having. Played down in the NFL and people like oh my goodness this is ridiculous and I think. That kind of helped lead to the slotting, system, that we, are at now now saquon Barkley, is not as bad because again I mean it's quarterbacks get paid more. Anyway but to see a guy that immediately jumps the likes, of Todd Gurley the good news is if you're Todd Gurley and your. Contracts Situation comes, up in a. Year you have a bigger leg to stand on and say look man come on saquon Barkley. Is gonna make seven and a half eight, million, bucks next, year dues had one year whatever, that years maybe he's a rookie of the year maybe he's not whatever. It is I'm freaking Tom Todd Gurley for crying out loud Why give saquon Barkley is worth eight million. Bucks I'm, more twelve million thirteen million pay me so to. Have three straight years of running backs getting taken in. That top five with Ezekiel Elliott Leonard fournette now saquon Barkley is helping the likes of, lady on bell Todd Gurley all the other quality running backs in the NFL. Who weren't drafted as high as saquon Barkley the two other guys I said so. Maybe we're back to a day and age we're running backs, over the next. Three or four years when. These guys start coming up for. Renewals when lender for nets up for you know his, first, big, contract when Todd Gurley is up when his equal Elliott's up these guys will. Start making. More money than the, eight and a, half million bucks we've gotten accustomed to. Seeing from a lot of these. Guys right bottom line that's what's going to happen So good, news is the economics of football for a running back has gotten better the. Bad news is the economics of football are screwing veteran running backs who look up. In the rankings of salaries and see saquon Barkley above them, by the way. Has jerick McKinnon up there I mean come on He said that the bigger travesty of, anything? Here. Number five, right yeah Unbelievable. Jerick McKinnon. The Vikings yes. In terms of two thousand eighteen dollar salary cap hits he's, number? Two Behind he's? Behind. Tom bell and one point six billion bucks. Ahead of. The Shawn McCoy Jerick mckinnon How? About that Let that marinate a little bit, in your, head Jack McCain and now is the second highest paid running back this year in the NFL I'm going to guarantee you one. Thing real quick he will not be the second running back taking any one of your fantasy drafts telling you, that right now how 'bout that that's. Knowledge right there You talk and fantasy I'll pass them Oh I. Take jerick. McKinnon number two all. Right go ahead don't. Listen to me Go. Ahead. Take them. You'll be your first runningback taking it'd be telling me as overpaid. Absolutely all right the NFL training camps are opening up this week, around. The country, lot of positives coming. Out, of places like Cleveland by the, way right I mean. There's, expectations you think wow what an. Unbelievable wide. Receiver core. Not so fast though This is. A strange. Situation occurring. In Cleveland I it's it's it's. A sensitive situation when it comes. To. Josh Gordon. But ultimately what does it mean with Josh Gordon not there and. Right now indefinitely not there how do you.

"This is madness i gather the motivation again i'm we're tempting to to play the hand back with your gather the motivation twelve thirteen years ago was to appeal to social conservatives for two thousand eight presidential run i gather that well yes that or or you know again we're not i'm not really sure who you know was putting money in his coffers i know for third there's a very good connection to the nfl itself and the nfl knock really liking online gaming so the nfl is a whole is one of the most hypocritical and evil organizations that exists in america as far as i'm concerned talking to talking to saint louis rams fans so trust me your words resonating sir yeah they're the most hypocritical they take stance it's so heavily antigambling when you know if cleveland and detroit are playing on a sunday evening the only reason people watching is because they have money on it right but they take the stands like we had a couple of football players who wanted to complain a poker charity event to raise money for sick children sick children to raise money for them they didn't let them do it because it was through poker i mean it's just so such a hypocritical stance and nfl doesn't want legalized gambling in america because that opens up the opportunity for the nba a for mlb and for nhl to sort of like close the gap because they liked the situation the way it is right now they get the ratings they have the eyeballs people are betting legally any eagerly illegally all across the country overseas as well so they like the way things were they didn't really like the idea of online gaming taking flight and cutting into their revenue ultimately every conversation we have this is gonna end up if what benefits me what helps my pocket it's all about money has nothing to do with what's best for society.

"Picture day party his his shoe his birthday is march fourteenth also known as pied day because it's three fourteen so the celebrating his mathematical achievements on the courts getting kind of propagated and there's a saint called squaring the circle which is a metaphor for possible and they put it on the front there and there's a hidden pie symbol summer on the shoe there you go and then three fourteen i really liked them a lot his wife is a chef i just side note watcher on instagram last night making lunch for steph for his birthday it was the most insane amazing lunch ever and she made him homemade french fries that's awesome on then he got a shoe to good day shoe really a shoe guy but that's really didn't like his other shoes it looked like a pharmacist shoe i really enjoy having great pharmacists so there's no problem with that but i would i would also get these shoes under armor christine well that's the news thanks for stopping by heard lie ziam you know it is interesting because we it's free agent period and i showed him my mock draft where i think four teams will take a quarterback in the top eleven picks and i think they should we have a history where you can take you can take a quarterback you can give up a bunch of picks washington did and you can still be good i mean remember washington gave up a bunch of picks and gave him to the saint louis rams in the ramsden knew anything with those picks and washington didn't have the picks and they ended up winning the division a couple of times so i think i even have you know i just think i have cleveland getting a quarterback they need it a miami at eleven getting a quarterback arizona moving up to get a quarterback and i think buffalo moving up get a quarterback they need quarterback so just take him i mean half the guys in his draft.

"He's like to he's like two losses away from like being the all time leader losses right he's like a handful of losses away i wanted to get hired said he could officially be atop the leaderboard of most losses that an nfl head coaches hat because he's worthy of that because this is a guy that somehow finagled this way into being able to coach like thirty years in a row right when he left the tennessee titans the fact is i understand what andy reid got let go by the eagles they were teams lining up for andy re i get it right but when jeff fisher was finally mercifully let go by the tennessee titans what the heck with the saint louis rams thinking at that time like really did you watch the same tennessee titans team and now you see these quarterbacks who get better by the way to be fair to sam bradford couple years ago minnesota had a pretty good year like people forgot two years ago soda you clean like seventy three percent of his passes he played pretty well yeah meet he played for chip kelly in philly wasn't assistant now is good for him it wasn't really a system set up for sam bradford it's not who excels in chip kelly offense he he probably will accelerate a cardinals offense right i mean he's kind of similar in terms of what he can do to carson palmer but they're also similar sense that they both get hurt but frederick rydell to come out and look at somebody else's wallet it's like come on really this what you do you sit there and you critique other people's contract you don't call that jealousy jealous maybe sure throwing the football better in high school may you could have been a quarterback making a hundred and fourteen million bucks to play ten games a year nice life saint brad listen he's won the lottery many times over in the nfl right it's not just quarterbacks by the way a lot of interesting moves jordy nelson surprised or not to see him released by the packers schwartzman nbc sports radio the boston red sox play here sports radio ninety three point seven fm and hd one box your nbc sports radio update starts now with nfl free agency set.
