"Rod thorns a hall of famer. He's done just about everything basketball including playing college years in the pros the second pick in the nineteen sixty three draft in the nba through seventy one coach of the sonics. But then in nineteen seventy-three rod your aba career started. How did that start. What was that call like. Well i had been an assistant coach ryan with the new New york nets and we had weighed The saint louis spirits and the first first round of the playoffs The previous year and we beat them during the regular season ten consecutive times. We beat them the first game of the playoffs and then they proceeded to win the next four So they had eliminated us and their coach Resigned and i was offered the job and and ended up taking it Harry wealth man who was at that time the gm of the spirits We've had several conversations and So i ended up taking the job so you had had initially been an assistant though. Correct when when you were with the nets right. That is correct. The kevin lottery was terrific. Coach was our ed oates and we had won one championship and lost in spirits. The next year so. Palo Alto Networks' 2021 Ransomware Threat Report Indicates a Ransomware Demands Surge
"We're going to be getting into the palo alto networks ransomware threat report. Twenty twenty one and you'll devos president regional chief security opposite the i pay giants head that role. Sometimes i have. I was thinking alia So yeah thanks for joining again having this talk history. Some of the k. Phonics was when i was running up the nights it's Pretty impressive Intensive some of the payments. I will deal with what the bank paying and what they're making. I think we're in the wrong business but Maybe they will talk about how companies should be dealing with this because it sounds like companies have been dipping their hands in their pockets tying ransomware. Yeah in ranson. Look think i think from the beginning of this survey you'd really hang around if there is no money to be might actually bandies. Brass was actually quite lucrative has been quite literally footing for a number of us and people have been pike. I think that's the the last year specifically ran sort of cut not injuring himself. What we saw was the average mass pike by organization has dramatically increase. Two thousand nine saint louis sitting somewhere in the order of about fifty thousand. Us dollars was typically so the ransom in twenty twenty s nelson going out to three hundred thousand dollars Hundred and seventy one percent year on year growth just simply from the ransomware itself the rest payments obviously with within organizations insensitive. The rats in this thing paid for generations vessels the double from five minutes. And you're making some instances where the mice rats were example. We looked amazing. Twenty twenty actually averaging somewhere around the four point eight million dollars just to the rest where threat. The questionable of the survey making people the hesitant. Pike i don't see why for a second. The people are not paying. Because there's no reason why the ransomware would be going over and things would be going out out. Why was seeing normal ransom with resurrection. So puppy up.

Washington Capitals' Tom Wilson Receives 7 Game Suspension After Hitting Boston Bruins' Brandon Carlo
"Tom wilson's added again. The washington capitals rugged. Ford i was gonna call him tough guy but that was very tough thing. He did there recently against the boston. Bruins tom wilson has now been suspended for seven games for a hit against the boards on boston's brandon carlo. And it was well ugly in every way hit can be ugly. It was basically carlo up against the boards. Got the pocket and his skates. And wilson comes up and pretty much collides with the side of the guy's head and he left the game due to injury and It was just and it's not one of those deals where he can sort of. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Tom wilson continually runs into trouble with the nhl law and I mean these seven game. Suspensions four-game game suspensions the they just don't seem to be getting through to this guy. Now what did you think of him. There's no doubt in my mind that that he's lining up the guy's head okay whether shoulder right. That's the big hit right. That's the big hit when you when you leave the ice. Hers people incorrectly. See all the time. He left his feet. You know when he when he's leaving the isis the guys up against the boards. I think he's not even looking at him. Got his head down and this guy sort of lays into them with a shoulder to connect with his head. Okay so that's that's a terrible brutal disgusting dirty hidden hockey. Triple that stevie. When you're looking at the guys had up against the glass and you're gonna go smashing. You know like the guy the guys up the guys up against the boards and there's his his face might even be against the glass when he does it steve. It's just freaking heinous man idea. I thought i. That's what i thought when i looked out said that's like punching a guy down steve that's like punching a guy when his heads on the ice and you know as heads on the ice right. They don't do it right. You seldom see that right. The guy will pull up. What was the example. Last week was a beautiful example. The guy waving the linesmen and because he was going to use going to murder the kitty was fighting right. Yeah but this guy. I think he. He saw it from a mile away in terms of hockey speed. You know like you have a good two seconds there and tried to smash his head like a pumpkin into the glass. That's what i that's what i saw. Elsie the same. I mean and it's and it's this guy it's one of those deals where maybe i'm throwing around benefit of doubt of. It's somebody who's never done something like this before because it is a fast game and guys move the last second but there's nothing i can find here where i i can even begin to go down that road. A it's is tom wilson. You know if there's been a murder and there's a serial killer hanging around the scene of the crime. I'm gonna probably look his way and not given benefit of the doubt It's tom wilson and brandon. Carlo is totally stationary up against the boards. There was one today it was. Let's see. I think it was chicago in saint. Louis i wanna say and There was a big hit Behind the net and I mean it was one where he could look at and say okay. Well that's second go either way but this one was just. This is a guy. Carlos stationary against the boards. He didn't change direction. Didn't spin at the last second. He's totally still. And this guy had really his choice of where he wanted to hit him and He clearly chose get the the good. Maybe do the most damage knock this guy goofy. Get the puck and off. I go and intimidating. That's tom wilson's game. And so it's that's that's the frustrating part of it but more than that though it's hard for me to get to work out a budget anymore. Because the nhl at large doesn't seem to care that much y'all through a seven game suspension. Well this guy's been suspended repeatedly in the league and It doesn't seem to change anything for him and they don't ever seem to want to do something more fierce with this

"Archdiocese of chicago is standing with the vatican and telling the catholic faithful that the johnson and johnson vaccine is morally morally permissible. Spring Training 2021: MLB's Plan To Prevent Outbreaks
"Jeff. What's the plan around health and safety to get to something resembling normal in spring training. I mean there's a hundred page document that lays out an extremely granular fashion. What baseball is trying to do to prevent outbreaks and you remember pablo. We talked about last year. We saw with the miami marlins with saint louis. Cardinals teams are susceptible to that. I will say a very positive thing. That happened already is major league. Baseball's first round of intake testing where they had four thousand three hundred thirty six tests. They didn't give the number of tests subjects but among those tests only thirteen came back positive. It's a very very small number. If there is an outbreak pablo it would not surprise me at all considering the way that people at spring training or around one. Another so much but They are abiding by distancing protocols. They're limiting the number of players. Nobody's allowed to go out. And the hope is that over time as players get vaccinated that will change but for the time being. It's very similar to the way that they operated toward the end of last season.
Unmasking a Killer
"Let's just start with a recap so far. We have covered. How him hubs best friend. Betsy furrier ended up murdered with fifty five stab wounds. Only five days after making pam hop her life insurance beneficiary. That's free is husband. Russ was tried for her murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after spending almost four years in prison. He successfully appealed for a new trial and was acquitted of all charges. I discussed the corruption ineptitude and basically the overall nefarious -ness of the police and prosecution when it came to his case. I mean seriously guys if there is this case doesn't make your blood boil. I don't even know what to tell you. I don't know what well it is trifling because this case is so complex with multiple ongoing arcs. We are actually going to backtrack a little bit for part three back to rest free first trial. If you recall right before russ's first trial which began on november eighteenth. Twenty thirteen police. Investigators interviewed pam multiple times. Because obviously she was the last person to see. Betsy makes sense. Police were aware of the life insurance policy change and questioned her about it a couple times. She was always immediately defensive and she ended up bringing up her mother. Shirley newman using her almost as defense as to why she had no motive for money. So here's a clip of pam hop from a july of twenty thirteen pretrial interview with police to moscow. My mom got an accident in and home. I really hate to say it wanted mind. My were half a million that i get when she dies. My mom is dementia. Doesn't have the time now. I am ledge person. But if i really wanted money wasn't easier way than trying to combat somebody gets saying shirley newman pam seventy eight year. Old mother died just four months after this interview on october. Thirty first of two thousand thirteen evening. Just two and a half weeks before russ ferreira's first trial. She had fallen off the railing from her third floor. Apartment in an upscale gated assisted living facility. There had been no witnesses and police deemed it an accident. Let's break down what happened. Shirley's husband and pam's father died in the year. Two thousand when she became unable to care for herself pam and her three siblings work together to get surely into the lake view. Park independent senior living community in fenton missouri. Pam would frequently visit her during the day on october. Twenty ninth twenty. Thirteen surely had a doctor's appointment pam transported her to the appointment and then surely spent the night at her house. Spending time with pam's family the next day. Roughly five pm pam and shirley arrived back at lake park pam instructed the facility staff not to expect her mom for either dinner or breakfast. She then left the next day on halloween at two thirty pm a housekeeper through surely newman dead. Underneath her third-floor balcony there was damage to the railing and she had fallen to her death after two police investigations. The saint louis county medical examiner's office deemed shirley newman's death as an accident. Shirley had died from blunt trauma to the chest from the fall and the medical examiner also found point eight four micrograms of zoll padam generic ambien in her blood. That's more than eight times. What someone her age and size should be taking but still it was ruled an accident. Even though a structural engineer said that there was absolutely zero away zero way. A woman of shirley newman's weight and height could've damage the six individual pieces of railing. Pam hop was the last person to see shirley alive. Yes she was never interviewed her siblings however had been even though they weren't even local to the area or present and hadn't seen their mother in quite a while in his first trial russ was convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Just a few weeks later. Shirley newman's death and pam's presence was never investigated and never considered moving on to january twenty fourteen as we talked about in part to the saint. MLB announces revised 2021 Spring Training schedule
"Major league baseball announcing this afternoon. A revised two thousand twenty one spring training schedule with times. Cactus league teams like the reds are gonna play twenty. Eight came across thirty days with two off days and grapefruit. League clubs will play a regionalized scheduled. To mitigate travel afford the reds. They will start now. A day later than was originally planned reds playing the indians in goodyear on february the twenty eighth. We are sixteen days away from that. They'll have a day off on saturday march. Sixth on monday march twenty second. Finish up the cactus league on monday. March twenty ninth. They'll have to off days and then open the season in cincinnati against the saint. Louis cardinals a lot of these games we are. I think used for the most part spring training games taking place during the day and they've had more games at night in recent years certainly the last decade since they moved to arizona. I as a sarasota and before then plant city. The number of night games was typically pretty small. And there's been a few more. In recent years there are more for instance that first week of games. They played two games during the day and then four games at six o'clock mountain time. Eight o'clock here and then after that one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fifteen games in spring training which is not usual in fact. I'm looking here at their home games during the week pretty much. All of their home games are going to be at night. They have three saturday home games and then they have to. One o'clock games that are played during the day. And my guess here is. Maybe and i haven't looked at this. Because i'm kind of doing this on the is you could probably tell his night games against the indians to this year facility with but i wonder if that's in part because they want the indians to go and not travel as much so they're gonna play day games. I don't know but nonetheless more night games than usual but the date you care about. First game is against cleveland in goodyear february. The twenty eighth twenty. Cactus league games and thirty days there remains the possibility that cactus league games at least in the early going are gonna be five innings or seven innings. Just because there's not going to be as many guys in camp. At least at the outset we will see we will see sixteen days between now and and
Unmasking a Killer, Pam Hupp
"On tuesday december twenty seventh two thousand and eleven russ area called nine one one to report that he had just discovered his wife forty two year. Old betsy farah had killed herself as you just heard. He was in hysterics crying. Unable to breathe he called nine one one expecting police. Ems to come to his aid. What he wasn't expecting was that no one who arrived on scene. That night would believe that. Betsy had committed suicide. They believe that her fifty five stab wounds told a different story and this belief this version of events would lead to more than ten years of absolute hell for rough area. This is quite possibly the craziest case we have ever heard of and apparently agrees because renee zellweger just got cast as the lead in an upcoming film based on this case when we think of evil or manipulative women. A few immediately come to mind. We have jodi arias casey anthony. Eileen worn ose and more recently. Laurie valo by the end of this episode. You'll have another name to add to this list pamela. up pamela. Newman was born on october tenth. Nineteen fifty-eight indulge in missouri in a devout catholic home. Her mom was a schoolteacher working at a local school and her father was a longtime employee for union electric happily backed by the union by all accounts it was an idyllic childhood. Pam was known as being kind vivacious and extremely playful beautiful with long flowing blond hair and an infectious laugh. It was very hard not to like her for high school. She attended riverview gardens in saint louis. She was popular and a member of the cheerleading squad. If you ask any of her former classmates what they remember about pam they almost all say one of three things. She wasn't that great at school but she loved to party and she was one hundred cent boy crazy. Her popularity allowed her to frequently date. She began to go steady with an attractive softspoken boy. Who was a star athlete exceptional student and member of the national honor society. A couple of weeks after going to their senior prom together a pregnancy test confirmed pam spheres most likely due to her stringent catholic upbringing. She knew what had to happen. They had to get married resenting the fact that her friends were enjoying college life pam said at home in a dingy dark apartment with her daughter while her husband were too long hours to provide for their small family. The resentment grew to be far too much in the marriage dissolved. After only six years soon after the divorce pam met markup he was attractive also softspoken and played minor league baseball for the texas rangers. The two became almost immediately enamored with one another and married rather quickly. Mark ended up not being drafted by the major league so he became a carpenter. The pair soon welcomed a baby boy and moved to florida in nineteen eighty nine not finding a great deal of happiness or success in the sunshine state. They moved back to missouri buying a home in the city of o'fallon with marks carpentry skills and plump savings account. Three Philadelphia Flyers games postponed this week due to COVID-19 issues
"A third game postponed for tonight now. Philadelphia and washington off the board philadelphia with covid issues. So you know here. We go again where we've got another team that's going to be missing some games and you know this one here in the east division so we've already had interruptions with the devils. Now we get one with the flyers as well. So you know another game off the board tonight. Along with saint louis minnesota and arizona colorado. So i know this is we. Were talking about a little bit last week. Of my show samantha. You talked about quite a bit on your show where you know there have been several teams now afflicted with cova to the point where sort of fitting in. All of these games into the schedule window that the nhl has is just becoming increasingly difficult for them with the number of cancellations. And you'll get. It's obviously very tough for these teams to to stay in a rhythm state. Chris when they keep getting really every covid interruption cancels two games between the same teams plus something after that for one of the teams. So you know it's just it's very tough for these teams to get in rhythm you've got some teams that played fourteen games. Some that have played nine. It's just kind of all over the place right now.
FROM UNNATURAL REP TO TOP PERFORMER IN ENTERPRISE B2B SALES
"So today we've got clearly a self admitted unnatural. Salesperson came out of a scientific background applied that to selling and has been enormously successful. My point here is that you don't need to be the personality of sales. It can help people do need to want to talk with you and you need to bring something for them. Value information Something more than just rapport and sports and weather Can start there but that runs out pretty quick and if they don't want to talk about sports and whether it goes away really quick so i think you'll going to enjoy this interview. I'll summit up for the end. If you're in the courses make sure you're checking out The office hours. I threw in a free one or an additional one into the winning the complex sale. I had done this presentation for a company. I recorded it put into the course because it was one hundred percent applicable and it's instead of Do it separately just here. You go peace of gold. If you're not in the courses yet ask yourself. How many new meetings are you getting a week. It outbound not inbound not with existing customers not from referral outbound. Your dream accounts the people that you really would like to have a conversation with to see if you can build curiosity and interest the most common answer i get is one and i think they're exaggerating. How would you like to have your calendar full of that. And now's the time to do it. It's now or ten years ago when you can't do it ten years ago so now go to be to be revenue dot com. Check it out also. Some people like jest. You know short sales tips and if you like that checkout podcasts. Sales questions brutally honest answers. Where it's short-form no intro rate to the core. I think it's like eight. Minutes is like the average if you like that type of thing if you want more strategic views about like hiring developing growing your career to other shows the abi revenue leadership show and the sales leadership show interview the world's best sales leaders. Let's get into the interview and i'll summon up at the end. A michael okwu to the show is way get started gives a little background on yourself. Brian thanks for having me on Michael ford and from the kansas city area grew up in the mid west. Went to saint louis for for college and maryville university and at a biochemistry degree there. So actually you know in prep for this interview as a little research on your background as well and found out that your uh free technical background ended up branching into sales afterwards. I think we have common a little bit but got a chemistry degree was You know what really a bench scientists in college and educational work experience. Which was it was interesting. It was fun. It was really challenging. I joined that part of it. The the the mental challenge of that and Did actually what's called a liberal. Chemistry and was focused on method development for a company called sigma aldrich on Really purity of the define chemicals. They were shipping out so pretty technical but definitely very far from sales. So how'd you make that bridge that gap you know. It was probably similar realization that you came to that. I looked at the bench scientists next to me. That really couldn't care any less about his job. And you know looked at me you know. Put an even though. It was just an educational an internship type experience but my heart in the job in showing up early and stay late wind needed to happen. And i realized i you know based on the two percent raises. Oh come every year. It's gonna take me a long time to make anything significantly more than the person next to me. That really doesn't give a crap so that led me to a kind of figure out and start having conversations with people and actually had a Speaker guest speaker come to my Biochemistry lectures in college. That was a sales rep for shimon shimadzu and they're an instrument manufacturer actually sells to companies like the company that i was working for in college and he flat out told us how much he made and i was like no way. That's that's that's that's not a real number is like no no. This is the goal. I set for myself when i joined the company. He's like i hit it within the first two or three years. And i was like. That's unbelievable that that money's out there for people that are willing to put the time and effort in and you know since then. I really focused kind of shifted my my direction at that point. My my academic studies had finished all my technical classes so actually shifted and started taking a lot of business. Classes ended up with a business minor and really started pursuing conversations with with people that In my small network at that time that had experienced sales or business development leadership and tried to figure out what it was gonna take to to get to that level. Because at that point i i started to get really hungry

It would have an opponent and the opponent would bail total inside baseball stuff. But it's just interesting to see to know what saint louis was trying to arrange from a scheduling standpoint and then how it got screwed over. How it screw over other teams and now travis. Ford has a six no squad with an intriguing road trip awaiting sunday against minnesota from being seven to no But it's managed to get a good home win against lsu and then a good home win against nc state so if you can get one more quality non conference win this would be a this will obviously be. Its first away from home. Although windsor has so far have come Into shape it's Big time stuff. It's between saint louis and richmond as the as the attends best team. I i would still lean richmond but saint louis has a has a legit squad here. I mean jordan. Goodwin is a fantastic fantastic player him and giovanni perkins are both seniors. They lead that squad. But your e collins He is an interest. he's he's he's like a water bug. I mean he's five eleven he might weigh ten pounds more than i do. See this is a part of the charm of college sports because you know ninety. Nine percent of the population has no idea. What a bill tennis. Just no shot but saint louis. Honest official university webpage has a what to know about the bilican. It says the billikens. A mythical good luck figure represents things as they ought to be. This is not a real sign. An animal person. it's not like an elf. It's just it's a mythical good luck figure who represents things as they ought to be before he was saint. Louis university's mascot. He was a national sensation. A figure who was reproduced as dolls marshmallow. Candies metal. banks. Hat pins pickle forks quite a pickle fork is but okay i would. "Saint Louis says going forward bill do you believe the American consumer will punish China by avoiding products made there I don't think it's a long term trend Austin but in the short term everyone knows trying to deceive the world and everyone knows the virus came out of Wuhan so China is image is very much damaged as for buying products people usually like to buy the most inexpensive and that means China is in the mix however China and the communist government in Beijing will never again in our lifetimes have credibility James in port orange Florida says my wife and I filed our two thousand eighteen income tax by mailing a return to the IRS how will we get our stimulus checks by mail the same way you did it James now people who filed electronically in two thousand eighteen with the IRS their money from the stimulus bill will be electronically deposited in their bank accounts because you had to give that money with the electronic filings to the IRS would you shoot it right in there it will take longer for you and your wife to get your money because of the mail and that takes manpower and it's much slower Arlene is in Bellingham Washington Hey bill our governor just created an online form to specifically report business in violation of the shutdown that encourages the public to tattle on others is it borderline fascism what do you think I don't like the trend to have citizens report on one another however Arlene in your state some businesses are violating the governor's order so it's almost like a citizen's arrest a tip off at nine one one call I'm not vehemently opposed to that whether I would do it would depend on how big the business is enough I felt it was doing damage to my state or neighborhood so I would have to make an individual assessment but in general American spying on other Americans is not a good thing Tom in the morning and Pennsylvania bill when you think there will be a vaccine I'm hearing in the year stay off the internet when it comes to pandemic reporting Tom go to bill o'reilly dot com where we do not speculate I do not know when there will be a vaccine but here's what I do now major drug companies in the USA are currently testing vaccines to fight the corona virus aren't real people they're in phase three trials also in Britain however no one knows if the testing will be successful and you can't put out a drug unless you know the likely outcome of consuming that drop I'm bill o'reilly and I approve that message by putting it together for more news please visit bill o'reilly dot com we have the best pandemic coverage in a moment something you might not know you know me as a news guy but today I'm a science guy I've accumulated my share of aches and pains over the years which started my quest for a natural solution I found it in omega XL the stuff works and it has thirty years of research to prove it America excels a powerful natural anti inflammatory supplement that helps relieve joint and muscle pain there's nothing like it omega XL has health benefits way beyond joint comfort here's another reason I take omega XL research shows that it.

"I live in Saint Louis it's there's houses here for less than that which I can purchase and read verses a seven hundred and fifty around there or I should buy a small house or small condo and just keep it and even though I'm not gonna be happy with that purchase you're not gonna be happy with that purchase you mean it's not gonna outline your well yeah it wouldn't would you live there I mean you buy something not willing to live in that that's what I was saying I want to be rent free like I I understand that it's a big step but it's something I wouldn't really be happy living there I travel quite a bit and leaving my stuff in there and not a good neighborhood I I don't know I don't feel really comfortable this call so what is your income I do seventy three thousand a year seventy eight thousand come from saving you decide that up yeah I'd say about twenty five hundred a month and I've been doing this job for about three three years now okay well here's the way I look at this one for my asked me a question almost of any kind I ask myself if I were in your shoes what would make me have is money question what would let me have the most money and the best life ten years from now which of these two choices now the way I would know what to do is number one I've done this a long time teaching people work with a lot of people for thirty years number two you know should we study millionaires what do you want to be you know and so we want to have some money and I find almost no millionaires that rented while they bought rental property the vast majority of them by home paid off and save and invest and then by rental property like that's almost all of them and so that's what I would tell you to do now as far as buying a home goes our condo that you like it that you be will live in leave your stuff in while you're traveling all those kinds of things I get that only problem with that there's two courses we could go with one is set right where you are stable pull more money your your savings maniac dude you're on fire save them money and then go buy something a man and you have another thirty thousand Bucks a year and so you know one another thirty thousand after that or I don't yell at people for taking out that own a home so by you condo that's in a good neighborhood that you're comfortable with your stuff can be an and that will go up in value and your you know put fifty percent back home you know buy something for you know a hundred eighty grand hundred sixty grand or whatever something like that and you can get something pretty good for that in Saint Louis now if yeah if you do that then that Turner's pay that off for the next like what three years I mean you're gonna do that really fast put it on a fifteen year fixed but paid off really really fast so by the time you're thirty you're sitting there the house is gone up in the condos gone up in value is now worth two hundred plus and it's paid for now that's that's a big building block in your millionaire house that we want to build culture net worth so if you want to buy something now and plan pay all very very quickly put it on a fifteen year fixed I don't yell at people for doing that is the only day that that I don't yell at you for taking out and now I will tell you in fairness and always put this disclaimer out there I don't borrow money for anything so if I woke up in your shoes I would be forced because I have a rule I do not borrow money for anything ever under any circumstances ever period I quit because I found that is really the short as well path to wealth so I would be in your shoes I'd be sitting there reading and I would pilot to cash in on Bobbi a property and I didn't like that property and keep piling up cash because I have no rent now in public more cash and then I would move again and the good news is you twenty seven you're single you move pretty quick what few hours right I mean it's not that much to it it's not like merry people the main collecting crap for forty years after merry move you know it's like you know just your stuff jumped in the truck to go and so it's not a big deal so you could buy something that way I'm waiting here by a hundred and some thousand dollar property two years later you got the cash plus that sell that property new move up some about two hundred thousand problem you can go that route if you want I don't borrow money so in full disclosure that's the way I would end up doing it but if you were to go the other route you would still be under the column of someone who is wise and the following them the normal steps that someone who has a one to a five million dollar net worth closer and that's the process Charlie is with us in Philadelphia hi Charlie how are you hi there thanks for taking my call sure I can help so my wife and I will bring home about seventy seven hundred dollars a month we also have two hundred thousand dollars in that bomb about a year ago she started a music therapy company so far she's made about twenty four thousand but we haven't touched any of that money we reinvested in the business okay now my question is to thinking about quitting her job so she can do the business full time reasoning is that she wants she thinks she can double the business in the next year if she has more time and focus on there I wanted to get your thoughts on that what does she make now around forty three thousand and so if she's wrong you take a twenty thousand dollar pay cut in your household you go from forty three to twenty four if our supposition is wrong the only thing we're sure of is she may twenty four at a business is so if she's wrong and the business doesn't go up just because she's at a full time she took a twenty thousand our pay cut that that's what happens if you're wrong so what I tell folks is is it that might be in okay risk it's pretty given that you make as much money as you might you know you got a lot of debt that's weighing this decision down that's the problem but I think she might be right but here's the here's the way I look at it you want the boat close enough to the dock that when you jump from the dock you can hit the boat and what that means is you want her income to be closer to her her music therapy income to be close enough to her day job income that when you make that jump it doesn't feel like you're just hoping you can hit the boat and you end up wet in the lake you see what I'm saying this is a pretty far leap you're describing but it might be that you work at a few more months and let's see if we can get that up to thirty one twenty four if you like a twenty five hundred Bucks a month for one or three thousand dollars a month that's thirty six thousand dollars a year that's not a far jump from forty.

O. P. chair Jennifer Carnahan was there she was a resident of Saint Louis park she put out an email and she said she attended the Saint Louis park city council meeting where the mayor and council discussed their previous vote to stop reciting the pledge of allegiance at city council meeting on Jennifer wrote more than a hundred proud patriots were also in attendance waving the American flag reciting the pledge of which none of.

So we took a little road trip down to the south side of Chicago. And I'll retire long forcement, and we literally got off of the freeway in. We got off of the freeway on the south side of Chicago. I have to admit that I was stunned. I've never seen an inner city, look, so horrible. And as soon as we got off of the freeway there, just like the other guy said there are all these people approaching our vehicle and a we turn right around and got back on the freeway. We're right back downtown Chicago should have gone to the north side of Chicago. No doubt. No doubt. What we stayed up near no, Wisconsin. So I just wanted to go. See I mean, I've been all. All over New York all of New York and to Gaga scared me. Yeah. What's the only Chicago in downtown is beautiful. The north side is nice. It's the south side. That's such a pit. Just don't go there. "I just put on his his little league team won last night headed of semi final this weekend they won eleven to two he said i said hey you kind of saint louis cardinals them eleven to two loss for the giants last night i need more from this offense man they're they're they're now five games back in the loss column to the dodgers who are up in first place giants now they're only they're only three and a half out but sitting there five days back in the loss column with three teams in front of you is is the tough one having to jump that many teams here now i said it just a minute ago this was all supposed to be about coming home and facing right handed pitching but you can't make that excuse when you just don't go out and hit and it's not like they're not just hitting with reuters and scoring position like they were in the beginning of the season you're not hitting it all now you've got an ace getting lit up which that is the least of my words johnny cueto gift the least of my worries because you got games like he did last week in colorado where you got a young a young lefty in suarez comes out and absolutely deals and he takes a loss because you can't score a run madison bumgarner what one read aloud couldn't score many runs they lose two to one or whatever they give up their score one run for him in colorado you gotta get more this offense has got to give us more when you're paying these big guys you bring in a guy like mccutchen you give up prospects for them if it's not working you gotta find something else and i'm not saying one game is the reason it's not working he's been okay his splits on the road but he's not a all star like andrew mccutchen he's not tearing up this team and tearing up the league and he's an irreplaceable player in the field he hasn't done anything spectacular for this offense so far this season he's won him some games they definitely have extended the lineup it's a more dangerous lineup to last year certainly but is it a lineup that can compete now with the dodgers that are getting healthy and get right i'm not sure i don't know i really do not know and they're doing it without cory seager by the way so this whole injury thing doesn't doesn't hold up they did a part of the year without a without clayton kershaw they weather the storm without justin turner for a big chunk of the season and they've weather the storm the giants do not have any excuses here they've got to get better they've gotta start hitting and bocce thinks it'll it'll come around some sovereign name in just a minute we've got people checking on the text line it seems like a swing speed on most hitters is slow that might have been the case last night i think luke weaver was kinda gassing guys last night he was throwing a lot of change which is really his money pitch and he's got a good fastball but he can rear back and he was doing that in to strike crew was talking about it though out talking about that at one point made a great point is that when you when you throw a lot of change ups and you kind of groove at at ninety two ninety three with your fastball and then when you get a two strikeout rear back and you can bring what at ninety five ninety six ninety seven that's like having a an entirely different pitch that's like having two different changes you'd have changed speeds on a guy three times that's what they mean about changing speeds effectively you can really jump on a guy to strike out with another fastball rear back and throw it harder and and that's what made luke weaver successfully yesterday he was placing his pitches there was that awkward moment where pablo sandoval drew a walk or was issued a walk and that dude i i don't know that i've ever seen that before i seem to have a little league where you know you take you start to take a walk down the there's no no no you only have three bucks has three one come on back here well pablo did it takes the third ball starts taking his gear off and heads down to first and then the the cardinals started barking from the dugout said whoa whoa whoa dude is not out four balls only three balls.

"Like that the city has those types of things it's very difficult to imagine any scenario of of merging the two where somehow county voters are now responsible for for that debt i think that's like the least likely scenario personally i think the most likely scenario is that saint louis county effectively grows saint louis city becomes a municipality part of saint louis county the same way clayton chesterfield is and saint louis county is not responsible for all the you know i don't know how much debt for instance wildwood has but they certainly have some debt and saying this counties responsible for that and it'd be the same way most likely it'd be the same with the city where we still have you know we still love our taxes and collect them and then pay down our expenses with that revenue i think when people say you know the county spent a long time since county so i may not know all the concerns county residents have of course but it's curious to me that they think if that were not that we really are sort of separate at it is i mean in in my in my experience the city and county it's one unit people work in one live in the other families in one you know they live in the other people go back and forth all the time most people you know don't spend all their life in the city all their life in the county they moved back and forth it's we're already one region we just are governed as two regions and you know the reality is most places aren't like that and i don't think it's served us well so how would you describe the current climate at the board of alderman i realize the ward reduction certainly got a lot of attention but you're in their daily you know fighting for what you think is right whether.

"The broadcast booth of a cardinals game and he talked about not arizona obviously saint louis cardinals game 'cause you know saint louis rams and all that stuff warner talked about how much he missed the game he said that sometimes he hoped that one team at some point would give him another seven on seven opportunity just give me twenty plays and let me see if i can still do it and then it went on from there and see this is what happens when a guy ends up parked by a microphone in maybe a setting where he didn't really expect news to come out and it used to be that a lot of players didn't realize that the things they said would actually be you know heard and noticed and reacted to they thought the words disappeared into the ether and there were no ramifications for anything that you said well that's not the case anymore even if it's not part of a radio interview or a podcast or a tv production so warner starts riffing about the fact that he was ready to come out of retirement last year think about that the guys forty six i mean this george blanda stuff he hasn't played since january of two thousand ten when he got blown up sir after an interception against the saints in one of the suspected bounty games of that playoff run his quote.

"That's fair and so i think when you look at how we've managed this and how we've positioned this organization for really the last two decades it's been good baseball and as i look at at the saint louis cardinals and knowing that i have ownership backing i feel very confident that the next five years the improvements we're going to build upon where we are and look the landscapes change artisan ever are free agent lance tip division i'm just talking to visit general but when you look at where the cubs were decade ago where they are now i mean the sleeping giants wake and so you how we do business or how we react to that landscape has to change so internally we have to evolve internally we understand that that we are more we have to be more reliant on our pipeline than ever before and so that's why we're pouring money into that and we're going to continue to do that and i hope that you know people see these types of talents that come up through our system they realize these were the right investments how do you view the baseball off seasons the whole with the cardinals but i would imagine you're debt gates and the game this has to be v most unique off season see two caliber players that in some capacity are still out there in march but were worst in february and march and than some getting deals that were less than their qualifiable i don't recall seeing anything like that.
