Matt Walsh Describes Event Being Cancelled at Saint Louis University

"What happened with that mad You were going out to this is supposed to be I believe a Catholic university and you were supposed to give a speech and did I read this story correctly that they tried to cancel you out there at a Catholic university for doing like Catholic stuff Did I read that right Oh you did Multiple times And I'm Catholic myself and I was invited to speak at a Catholic university on the pro life issue And as most people know the Catholic Church has a firm position on that issue and says that abortion is intrinsically evil which it is So you would think it's like a match made in heaven I can go and talk about this But the most hostile reception I've ever received was at this Catholic university And the second most hospital have to say was also at another Christian university So what does that tell you And we are kicked out of one venue and we went and then the church on campus said okay we'll take you And then there was a petition that was started against me in the faculty and staff signed a statement saying we don't want him And so then the church apologized for inviting me and they kick me out too and we landed on our third venue which was just across campus It was actually technically off campus across the street from the campus And I did the event It went great but we had must have been a hundred or more leftist protesters who showed up to my event blocking traffic protesting And I did there's video that I went out to the street to talk to them to this hoard And I guess they weren't expecting that I walked out to the street just to say hello And they all started backing away and I told them to get off the street and they did and that was kind of nice But the fact that at a Catholic university this is not just like an attack on differing points of view and on free expression It's that also But it's even worse because this is the expression of moral truth that we shouldn't kill babies fully in line with Catholic teaching and that that wouldn't be welcome on a Catholic campus is really really sad and

A Kid’s Dream Come True — Video Games as Medicine!

"The age old. Mantra of parents won't let their kids have a gaming console too. Many video games hurts your brain but last summer. The fda approved the first ever prescription video game. It's endeavor rx and it's meant to help treat. Adhd in kids aged eight to twelve. It's not a standalone. It'll be prescribed along with other more traditional medication. Without insurance it costs about one hundred dollars a month a year later developers are just starting to reach out to doctors and potential patients. We spoke with ian bogus. He directs the film and media studies program at washington university in saint. Louis we asked him. What's a medicinal game. Even like it's kinda like any video game you've got a little character writing vehicle and you piloted through obstacles in order to reach a goal. That's interesting so it doesn't feel like you're taking your medicine. Yeah and you know. That's part of the appeal of games for any purpose for education or for politics or for for training. Or what have you is. Maybe you won't notice that you're doing this thing you don't want to do if it's in video game form but the creators of endeavor rx claim to have made technologies that are measuring and adapting to the player. Who would be an adhd patient who had been prescribed the game that according to them make alterations kind of customizing the experience to optimize the attention treatment

We can deal with many things in this country at the same time and if something happens it doesn't mean you go. Oh what about this. What about that. Can we focus on what happened on. January six where democracy was in jeopardy. We should be this. Is this just people who were who were exercising. Some of them were exercising. Their right to protest others went way too far. That's a different story than trying to undermine democracy and stop an election now. Let's analyze that for just a moment. Don lemon was talking about the black lives matter. Rioters and the protesters and tif All the the the terrible events we saw. After george floyd was killed. Some of them others he said went way too far. But that's a different story. "Joined by. Jim talent who has No stranger to election. But before i go to the question of jcp. Oh a to point out. jim in the last segment. I was asking people if they bought a car. 'cause the president last night said this. Let's play this for senator talent. President biden on buying a car. First of all good news is economy is picking up significantly. It's rational about it. The cost of an automobile kind of back to what it was before the pandemic all right. So senator talent. That's nuts callers have confirmed that's not so when the president is coherent. He's out of touch a mistake. Like that is kind of a bad mistake at george. H w bush not known what the price of milk is yes. Anybody was watching. I think most americans probably gave it a miss. He's focusing focusing on the production in the problem is the fed's increase the money supply over the last year. By what about thirty percents yes. It just added zeros. Which is the modern equivalent of printing money. And there's no way. The economy is going to increase production. Enough to cancel out the inflationary effects of that. And i just got regular callers. Call it in penn Ten thousand dollars more than a car. They bought the previous year with fewer miles. The president doesn't know. When do you think the last time. Joe biden bought. A car is senator talent. Oh probably what forty years ago. Not you know what. And the passion that Hooligans brought and I don't know that there's a lot of sports, you know, sporting events and venues you can go to where you experienced that kind of passion and that group so it's it's brought a lot of different I would say experiences and a lot of fun and uh, I don't regret any wage even explain to people who don't understand if you don't mind because you know, it's it's part of what's happening and I think that even if fans and in the short-term, maybe that have enjoyed going to games or have enjoyed the club, you know, we'll miss that what we're all missing Sports obviously right now explain for those of us, maybe who don't understand Jim the way that things are structured what is happening why it's happening and eventually what it's going to mean over the next couple of years is the group involved with Saint Louis City continues to move forward. Yeah the you know, so there's no There's a there's lot of things going on and I think the sport of soccer football globally referenced of of European perspective, but it's evolving and it continues to grow and there's a and winners growth in anything. I would say, there's unknowns of of how that's gonna work in right now. I would say if you look at it, you know, st. Louis has been a bit of a I would say one of the early adopters and the leader leaders in soccer in the United States. When you look at Saint Louis University in st. Louis Stars, you look up the stationers a number of things that have gone on that Saint Louis has played a big role a number of coaches and people that have played for the eight of us, you know, World Cup team Harry Keogh, you know was my soccer coach at Saint Louis University and a big part of a World Cup team that beat England in the nineteen fifties. So a lot of history that that goes way back with soccer and then you kind of move through that and as I mentioned some of the things that have happened relative or national soccer here in st. Louis and indy the evolution of soccer and the development of soccer in the United States, which which also includes, you know, which is indoor soccer wage. Is very large at one point very large here in st. Louis. Then you had the the the Genesis and building of MLS and MLS continue to build over the last twenty twenty-five thirty years into what it is today. And you have u s l that has continued to build another league. So you bring all that together. You've got a lot of growth and you know, when we myself and Tom Strunk got involved with Saint Louis Scott Gallagher, we we just wanted to basically give back to Black sport and a game that was very influential to us and the development our development and give back to the kids in the community and through that process. We ended up bringing in a building st. Louis FC which was and professional team here in st. Louis. We didn't have any grand plan that that was going to evolve into an MLs Club, but I believe it was very strategic and bringing visibility into where soccer is going..

"I live in Saint Louis it's there's houses here for less than that which I can purchase and read verses a seven hundred and fifty around there or I should buy a small house or small condo and just keep it and even though I'm not gonna be happy with that purchase you're not gonna be happy with that purchase you mean it's not gonna outline your well yeah it wouldn't would you live there I mean you buy something not willing to live in that that's what I was saying I want to be rent free like I I understand that it's a big step but it's something I wouldn't really be happy living there I travel quite a bit and leaving my stuff in there and not a good neighborhood I I don't know I don't feel really comfortable this call so what is your income I do seventy three thousand a year seventy eight thousand come from saving you decide that up yeah I'd say about twenty five hundred a month and I've been doing this job for about three three years now okay well here's the way I look at this one for my asked me a question almost of any kind I ask myself if I were in your shoes what would make me have is money question what would let me have the most money and the best life ten years from now which of these two choices now the way I would know what to do is number one I've done this a long time teaching people work with a lot of people for thirty years number two you know should we study millionaires what do you want to be you know and so we want to have some money and I find almost no millionaires that rented while they bought rental property the vast majority of them by home paid off and save and invest and then by rental property like that's almost all of them and so that's what I would tell you to do now as far as buying a home goes our condo that you like it that you be will live in leave your stuff in while you're traveling all those kinds of things I get that only problem with that there's two courses we could go with one is set right where you are stable pull more money your your savings maniac dude you're on fire save them money and then go buy something a man and you have another thirty thousand Bucks a year and so you know one another thirty thousand after that or I don't yell at people for taking out that own a home so by you condo that's in a good neighborhood that you're comfortable with your stuff can be an and that will go up in value and your you know put fifty percent back home you know buy something for you know a hundred eighty grand hundred sixty grand or whatever something like that and you can get something pretty good for that in Saint Louis now if yeah if you do that then that Turner's pay that off for the next like what three years I mean you're gonna do that really fast put it on a fifteen year fixed but paid off really really fast so by the time you're thirty you're sitting there the house is gone up in the condos gone up in value is now worth two hundred plus and it's paid for now that's that's a big building block in your millionaire house that we want to build culture net worth so if you want to buy something now and plan pay all very very quickly put it on a fifteen year fixed I don't yell at people for doing that is the only day that that I don't yell at you for taking out and now I will tell you in fairness and always put this disclaimer out there I don't borrow money for anything so if I woke up in your shoes I would be forced because I have a rule I do not borrow money for anything ever under any circumstances ever period I quit because I found that is really the short as well path to wealth so I would be in your shoes I'd be sitting there reading and I would pilot to cash in on Bobbi a property and I didn't like that property and keep piling up cash because I have no rent now in public more cash and then I would move again and the good news is you twenty seven you're single you move pretty quick what few hours right I mean it's not that much to it it's not like merry people the main collecting crap for forty years after merry move you know it's like you know just your stuff jumped in the truck to go and so it's not a big deal so you could buy something that way I'm waiting here by a hundred and some thousand dollar property two years later you got the cash plus that sell that property new move up some about two hundred thousand problem you can go that route if you want I don't borrow money so in full disclosure that's the way I would end up doing it but if you were to go the other route you would still be under the column of someone who is wise and the following them the normal steps that someone who has a one to a five million dollar net worth closer and that's the process Charlie is with us in Philadelphia hi Charlie how are you hi there thanks for taking my call sure I can help so my wife and I will bring home about seventy seven hundred dollars a month we also have two hundred thousand dollars in that bomb about a year ago she started a music therapy company so far she's made about twenty four thousand but we haven't touched any of that money we reinvested in the business okay now my question is to thinking about quitting her job so she can do the business full time reasoning is that she wants she thinks she can double the business in the next year if she has more time and focus on there I wanted to get your thoughts on that what does she make now around forty three thousand and so if she's wrong you take a twenty thousand dollar pay cut in your household you go from forty three to twenty four if our supposition is wrong the only thing we're sure of is she may twenty four at a business is so if she's wrong and the business doesn't go up just because she's at a full time she took a twenty thousand our pay cut that that's what happens if you're wrong so what I tell folks is is it that might be in okay risk it's pretty given that you make as much money as you might you know you got a lot of debt that's weighing this decision down that's the problem but I think she might be right but here's the here's the way I look at it you want the boat close enough to the dock that when you jump from the dock you can hit the boat and what that means is you want her income to be closer to her her music therapy income to be close enough to her day job income that when you make that jump it doesn't feel like you're just hoping you can hit the boat and you end up wet in the lake you see what I'm saying this is a pretty far leap you're describing but it might be that you work at a few more months and let's see if we can get that up to thirty one twenty four if you like a twenty five hundred Bucks a month for one or three thousand dollars a month that's thirty six thousand dollars a year that's not a far jump from forty.

"Be amazing. But then to do this right before the horn is about the best thing that could ever happen to the city of Saint Louis Redline. You'll dump it over the blue line. Stick candle into the corner. Flea tree Gelo, these? Alex Tranquillo back. I mean seriously about the best thing that ever happened to Saint Louis. The city that was an amazing amazing moment. Boston's Brad Marchand got caught no-man's-land Saint Louis made him pay two shots. Two goals now I'm not going to say that they should have called the game after that. But they could have because they handle their business in the second period. And then the third then in the third period you Boston was going to throw everything they had in the final twenty do us. No way Saint Louis could keep Boston locked up for sixty minutes at home in game seven, right? Then again, this is a team that was dead last in the NHL a few months back. Now they're the champs. I know that point has been hammered to death, but it can't be said enough to mazing that does not happen. It's not supposed to happen. But these guys made it happen from dead last to one of the best stories ever. It's amazing. They were in dead last in January, and if they weren't dead then. There were this past Sunday. Right. But then, again, almost none of this makes sense. You know, like the fact that they were six and seven at home in the postseason, but ten and three on the road with a guy who is technically still an interim head coach and a goalie who is definitely a rookie. In other words, there is tough. And then they're Saint Louis blues, tough, and then with Bennington and the blues facing the most pressure packed twenty minutes of their lives in the third they attack again. They had a couple of good looks to make it three zero an end it but couldn't quite finish it off. Couldn't quite seal the deal until they did. Is there a single centering? These. Three nothing, Saint Louis imprinted ship. Glad Amir.

It's fine with me as as a lifelong Saint Louis resident a message you would like to convey to the people who are who may be hearing hearing from you in an extended conversation for the first time, especially if those people are going or city residents and are going to be voting. I was just like them to know that I am very sincere. I believe in the city of Saint Louis, I believe that we can be better than we are right now today, I do believe that if I'm elected. For years that there would be some drastic changes in the Saint Louis area when it comes to reducing crime and neighborhood development across the city, not just portions of the city, and I think that that's what they need to know, they need to know that I've served for twelve years on the state level. I've been able to bring approximately twenty eight million dollars back to the city or education crime reduction. Re entry programs. So they need to know that I am very effective, and I'm sincere and I wanted to see a change in Saint Louis area because before too long a lot of neighborhood who have been left behind state Senator Jamila Nasheed with us here on the program state Senator we really really appreciate your time.
