"Let homeless people come and live in his home i imagine they could sleep on the beds and use the linens and all that stuff so anyway if you would be willing to do that we'll talk about that coming up a little bit later on right now stories been gone for a couple of days now and it bothers me to no end and this has always bothered me and i'll come right out and say just so everybody knows i don't care if you're gay I don't care if you get married and your gay, none of that stuff, bothers me nor has it ever. I don't care. In my opinion, that's what you do in your life you do. And I'll do me. That's, that's the way look at it could not care less about your sexual orientation. To the point to talking about it with you, would bore me to tears. So that's how I feel about that. But that being said. The Catholic church. Teaches that homosexuality is bad. what do you agree with that or not is irrelevant the catholic church teaches that it's bad and you shouldn't do it so if you are a homosexual person i don't know why you would ever apply for a job working for the catholic church Knowing that they don't agree with your very lifestyle. It does not make any sense to me. at all i'm not a racist if i was going through the paper looking for a job and i said hey the clans hiring i can apply there i wouldn't wanna work there i don't know why you would want to work for a place that disagreed with your very existence but a catholic high school in indianapolis has fired a gay teacher in order to protect its catholic identity after it was pressured to do so by the archdiocese cathedral high school wow that's very catholic by the way i should point out i am not catholic i went to catholic school for ten years i i went to a school called saint pious the fifth school which is in california and then i went to a school called saint john bosco high school also in california say john bosco highschool had the added torture of being an all boys school so and saint fifth i had to wear a uniform and we had to go to church once a week i am not catholic so i couldn't participate in the church they put me off on the side well the grabber junior high school did they put me in the pew just off to the back and said stay out of the way stay out of the way you can't take communion you can't go in a little room where the confession of going there's virtually nothing you can do here so we're still going to test you in all the religious stuff but stay over in the corner and we're gonna cash your parents check every month just to make sure you know that the high school didn't particularly care but i did that so i knew That the Catholic school. The Catholic church does not. I don't want to say tolerate because. but for lack of a better word tolerate homosexuality therefore i don't know why you'd want to apply for a job with them like i said i wouldn't apply for a job with the clan because i'm not a racist but that's neither here at our there now cathedral high school announced in a letter to the community this past weekend that it made the agonizing decision to separate from the unnamed teacher who is an a same sex marriage so not only are you living a lifestyle That the church says is wrong, but you've, you've solidified, you've got married and the church doesn't agree with that. I just I wouldn't want to live in that kind of situation, ready to hide myself constantly, and I had to hide everything I did constantly while I was at work. Now that decision will mean the school will avoid the punishment that a nearby Jesuit preparatory school got a brain, boo. I couldn't figure out but. B. R. E. B. E. U F sounds French bread booth. they received last week when it was cut off by the archdiocese of indianapolis for refusing to fire its own day married employees cathedral said it had been engaged in almost two years of discussion and dialogue with the archdiocese archbishop charles thompson made it clear that fedral continued employment of a teacher in public in a public same sex marriage would result in our forfeiting our catholic identity and by catholic identity he means money they would not have gotten any money from the catholic church from the archdiocese anymore and they would not have been able to stay open and function which means that every child that went to that school would have lost out what about to find another school now the later the letter states the repercussions for disobeying the church it would not be able to identify as a catholic school celebrate the sacraments so you can have community were a catholic you went there he can take commute under the catholic church can give confession under the catholic church or have diocesan priests served on their board of directors and would lose its nonprofit status the letter which was signed by the school's president rob bridges and the chairman of its board met co hoot said they hoped the teacher's termination won't disheartened students bridges and co who wrote we know that some individuals do not agree with every teaching of the catholic church and so they're conscious struggles between the teaching and what they believe is right want you to know that we respect and individuals conflict between teaching and their conscience let also notes that bray booth the other school that did allow the gay couple to stay of the gay guy who was married since they working there is a jesuit school with a looser affiliation to the archdiocese and does not face losing its funding so you lost their fund They wouldn't have been able to stay open all the kids who went there, would no longer have gotten that education, the Catholic education that they wanted they would add to find someplace else, and there may not have been any place else to go. But the grander problem here. And again, it's, it's really if you think about this. It's less about homosexuality than it appears on its surface because. I said it before. I don't know why you would go to work for a place that said you're very existence. Is wrong. I mean I we've, we've seen this time and time and time again. A homosexual person goes to work for the Catholic church. The Catholic church does not support homosexuality does not support gay marriage. And when you work and teach the Catholic school. You're an expected to live that lifestyle. You're expected to live the lifestyle adhering to the teachings of the Catholic church. So I would expect to get fired if I got found out, I'm not saying it's right. But if you know your homosexual and the church doesn't support homosexuality if you know, your in a gay marriage, and the, the church doesn't support gay marriage. Why I mean, it doesn't make any sense to me. We have religious freedom in this country. The church can teach what it wants to teach and our morality, clauses, all over the place in Catholic schools at any creating religious school, then you would have to be Catholic any religious school. there are morality clauses and those morality clauses usually state and i haven't seen the one from the school they haven't released it but they usually state that you have to adhere to the catholic teachings paraphrase but by and large they they say that you have to do that so why would you think that your the rules would be different for you because you're a good teacher i don't care They don't give a damn why why is that? Okay. That's where I read the story and I read the outrage and one of the things that was outrageous. The people mad, they fired a gay teacher during day pride month. Would it have been okay in July? I mean. if they had done it back in may would would you be okay with that oh well that's all right they just didn't have to do it during them off I mean, I'm willing to bet and I don't know for sure, but I'm willing to bet that the Catholic church isn't a huge K pride month either I'm willing to bet. I don't know again not Catholic. So I don't particularly pay close attention to what's Catholic church does. But in this particular case, and this is what I want to ask you, given the fact that the Catholic church teaches that homosexuality is wrong. And they don't support gay marriage in any way, shape, or form were they wrong to let this teacher. Go. and furthermore i mean we can't ask him because he's not here we actually don't know who he is but why would you go for a job at a place that didn't tolerate you don't wanna goes far say hate but didn't tolerate your very existence and the way and your lifestyle like i said before if the clan was hiring i wouldn't fill out an application i'm not a racist i wouldn't want to be associated with that and if they saw me hanging out with me and my black friends or asian friends or anything like that they would probably have an issue with that so i wouldn't want to be associated with that group so i simply wouldn't apply for the job let let somebody else take that job with the clinton i'm i'm good doing what i'm doing over here somebody else can go do that if you're a gay person why would you even apply for a job with a catholic organization knowing that they don't agree with your lifestyle and it's a religious thing They're very teachings. of the bible of the church say homosexuality is wrong why would you even apply for that job to begin with now again i don't think that's right i don't care if you're gay i can't just can't wrap my mind around applying for a job with a place that for a better word hate you and your very existence Screw them. Go get a job someplace else. Get a job teaching someplace shortage of teachers in this country. go get a job teaching for a public school where you're probably make more money and nobody will care but the church cares what do you think.

"So I look forward to wherever he goes. He's going to have a even bigger chip drew lock is also a little short, and he's still going to have to get his Radic. His game is going to have to translate to the NFL as well because he's in spreads to it system. A lot of these guys are spreading you gotta come to the NFL. And and you're gonna you know have to get under center, you're gonna have to do some things a little bit different. He's got a rocket of an arm yet. If he's got a a rocket of an arm, but at the same guys have rocket arms, but can you harness? It can use, you know, the type of what's his touched like. Well, you have against New England twice a year. Right. And you know, you got the jets now I mean, the NFL game is going to be different than so Josh Rosen. I know that if you're. Oh, you're saying if drew lock you into Miami just said a rose Josh Rosen. I know I can he's he's going to go out there and play. He can make all the throws is what you're saying Rosen. And remember they still have quarterback in place, by the way in Ryan Fitzpatrick. So I mean, he's a stopgap. He's a stopgap guy. Josh Rosen can play tomorrow. Josh rosen. I listen, I want to get simulation. So it's a situation it's business. Drudge. But darn I wanted them to take Josh Rosen the draft last year and then Arizona jumped in front of right? So I mean, look that's the team. I grew up rooting for. But it's also the team that has broken my heart so much. I almost don't care to watch their games and haven't really for number of years because I just know they're going to be sorry and at best they're going to be five hundred. So like I but Josh Rosen would reinvigorate me to be a fan of that team. Again. You know, what I mean because it's like it's like a relationship, you know, like one of those toxic relationships you stick around, you know, little too long y'all just fight all the time. You know what I mean? But, you know, the sex is good, you know? So you stick around for the sex or you stick around for the kids, and I feel like that's what's happened with me and the dolphins. And so because of that I'd like to get into a new relationship with them because that would show me they've turned to. Leaf. And maybe I end up on the wrong end of it again. And maybe just go fall in with the Rams and just leave them if this doesn't work, but you know, but because the Rams are sexy. I'm looking at the Rams, and I, you know, I love me, Sean McVeigh. I appreciate you buttering me up your he knows I like to butter him up like the Rams, you know, they no longer just then. Now, the girl am I right? You know what I'm saying? Because the dolphins is like, you know, we've been in this relationship, a long time is not sexy anymore. She, you know, I'm not I'm not going to the gym as much for her. You know, she's not wearing the sexy underwear for me anymore. But the Rams the Rams I may be you know, what I'm gonna get on that treadmill? Again. I may get that beach body video perhaps even trying to resurrect some some old housewives. And like Blake Bortles they gave about that. Right. I know what I'm saying. So Josh Rosen makes me who I like because I loved Rosen here. I did too. You know, I I'm with you on Rosanna won't Rosen. The go to place said I'm buying. When it comes to Josh Rosen very much, so. Especially after you know, doing his games in high school over Saint John Bosco high school here, right? And watching him the way that his teammates gravitated to them. How much they loved them UCLA goes here, we knew he was gonna be there long three years. And look that team was just you know, it wasn't a good team. And so many people are doing what? Now, they put a situation in which all he didn't win enough games. Or he did he was not a true winner. Or he couldn't beat this team. That's the thing with a lot of the, you know analysis now is people will find something and they'll just run with George..

"KFI AM six forty. About a year ago? A year ago two years ago, two years, maybe more than that. We had a kid call up. And when every time we ain't we have kids, we always like to ask them, you know. You know, what's cool about your parents? What are you? Love your mom and dad, why are you the best bomb and dad in the world? Because it's it's great. It gives the kidnapper attorney. To tell you. No, thank mom and dad. In a very public way, and it shocks the parents sometimes that the kids are give the parents a very heartfelt deep. Thank you. Instead of just saying, you know, by mom, drives me to soccer, and the one that really stuck out was the young man named Jack Chavez I think he was nine at the time. How old was he at the time nine ten eleven. Was he nine maybe nine? But we asked them why you have the best mom in the world. Carol. Shabas? And he said because she makes sure I have a roof over my head. And she feeds me. Right. And sort of touched all of us that the Jack doesn't come from a great deal of money. He's not thankful for the because he got the iphone ten and he had a very difficult year with his dad's passing and his mom was strap. For the year and really couldn't afford to buy her, son. A cool birthday gift. Matter of fact, I think she was the hospital for his birthday if I remember correctly. And he never complained about it. So we said why don't we pass the hat around the station and see if we can raise a couple hundred bucks, you give them a cool gift. And then we got a ton of emails saying that people wanna help. So we say, okay, let's put together a gofundme page, and saving the raise, you know, three or four thousand dollars to send both of them to DisneyWorld for a couple of days, that'd be a cool birthday gift. So we set it up at six o'clock one nine seven o'clock when night I think it was when we started seven. And in one hour. Our goal is five thousand dollars. And we thought we'd get that maybe in a week or two in the first hour. It went from zero to twenty one thousand dollars and by the end of the four day period that we had it up there. It reached sixty or sixty five thousand dollars is incredible. And nobody asked what race what religion what political party that this family was in. They just a young man who was very grateful for having a cool. Mom, a really good mom, and that the money that you guys all raised. And I'm sure if people listening right now are participated in them. Really changed their life. And we'd like to check in with them every once in a while to see how it's going and Carol is with it side. Carol welcome back to KFI. How are you? I'm doing well, Tim. How are you? Good. Did I get most of that story? Correct. I mean pretty much spot on. Yes. It was. It was Jack nine at the time. Yes. His. His father passed days after his eighth birthday. So yes, it was. He was all at the time. When all of this when we were blessed by you and. And I listen, I can't I I've never met a more thankful. You know? Deuce in my world than you, and your and your son your son's now by hurt. He's twenty eight and he's living on his own now. He's thirteen. Yeah. Thirteen and he will be entering high school this coming fall. And where's he going? He was accepted to Saint John Bosco high school. How our yes. And thank you. For everything that you've done because I was able to still have enough money put away to be able to afford the tuition for him to be able to attend because it's it's not a very inexpensive school. However. It's a lot of a lot of the different pathways that they offer when being computer science, and that's what Jack is interested in. I'm going to be able to to send him there. And it's opportunity what probably not have been a possibility wait without everybody's generosity. So I thank you for that show. It keeps going and keeps living on and on. Now he'll start next September. They will start in August. As a matter of fact. I guess he will be a freshman in high school. That's incredible. Just two days ago. You remember holding them in your hands taking everywhere, you went absolutely same thing. I walked through Home Depot, and I did today. And I saw a guy with his one year old two year old daughter who looks you know, they all look the same at that age. And I missed that that's not part of my life anymore. I really do miss it. So he's gonna start in August. How far do you live from Saint John's? We actually moved. I. I made sure that logistically it would be close for him because you know for time and it is within walking distance the whereabout a mile. Oh, good. And where is that school? What city is that schooling? Belsaleh slower. So it's gonna guess what? Do you mean? Bellio. As I was guessing bellflower she had already said. Yeah. Okay. All right. Well, listen back pretty close. Bellflower? That's a cool. Hang how far will you be work? Then. I work downtown. Okay. So it's yet another sacrifice on your part for your child. Yes. You are. The most giving person I don't know anybody who who's who has changed their life as much for their child as you have. Like, I said, this this opportunity was just something that I just I never saw this being something that was obtainable for Jack. And when the opportunity arose chirp, we just, you know, prayed about it. And you know, we're just hoping that you know, that he wouldn't be accepted, and he was and, you know, we're we're just super excited, you know, for me to be able to have him go, and, you know, study something that he really is interested in so I to give him a little and by the way, Carol once he graduates, and in my opinion, probably with honors dean's list from Saint John's Bosco that opens up a lot of doors for college and for. I just in business relationships and job opportunities as well. I'm hoping so yeah, I think so, you know, in a weird way, Carol and hope you don't think less of me for this. But in a weird way, I was hoping when you finally got the sixty thousand the you would leave Jack with a grandmother by portion go to Vegas. Enjoy yourself for a couple of months. You know, what did you think about it at all? It did cross my mind. I'm not gonna lie. Yes. That's right. But we were able to enjoy DisneyWorld and just certain things that we haven't been able to do in a long time those opportunities came, and you know, we finally had to unfortunately, our pilot because most of the funds that we had were being depleted by our pilot or your car. What did you what did you pick up? What are you driving? Now. Honda CR v. Oh, that's cool car. I like that. Jack there is that is that who I hear in the background. Yes. That's laughing Jack. How are you? Bob. Good. How are you man? Your voice is really changed your you're like a man now. Shaving. Oh, good. Don't grow up too quickly bub. This Saint John's Bosco that's a beautiful school. They got a great sports team there as well. A great football team. And that's just going to be a whole new experience for you. Them. I'm sorry. I'm gonna run cross country within the summer. Oh, that's great. It seems like a lot of work though. I I just stick to computers. You know? I mean, look you can get injured doing that. But that is that's really a cool vibe there at that school. Again. They've got a great football program. They got great ethics there, the teachers they're all the the faculty there, they constantly preach a higher power that I know that you are you and your mom are very close to. It's definitely a an opportunity again that that I didn't think was painful for Jack. So we're really really real, you know, to be able to have this opportunity and. Talking to you at all. Well, you got to combine some time, but we're gonna take a break here. But Carol thank you for calling. God bless you, and Jack, and I know that your dad's looking out for you, Bob. And I think this is why it's happened. And I know you will never forget him. You think about them constantly, and I'm sure you talked to my daily basis. I do. Yeah. Well, God bless you young man, and Carol and please call us again. And we'll maybe we'll we'll be there for graduation almost definitely make sure that you'll be in the front row. Okay. And check don't disappoint is by getting that school and starting to smoke weed everyday. You understand that? Oh my gosh. I'll I'll I will make sure of that just say no to those drugs, man.
