"We'll start with the one that I mentioned this because I already talked about. This team wants and mentioned that that they've only played two true road games on the season did win both of them by the way Duquesne on the road at Rhode Island on Wednesday night. I think you and I are probably going to fall in line with our thoughts on this one. Yeah and I will say that if you had sentenced when you mean this is one would brought up so we we agree that this the game. Duquesne's fifteen into this year. But we know that duquesne play a really weak schedule a non conference three hundred and twenty first ranked schedule Agile according to Ken Palm. And let's look at what Duquesne's men doing here lately okay. So they want on the road at Saint Jo's that really doesn't mean anything. Saint Joe's is very weak. This year. Here they won at George Washington. A decent win you know not a bad performance. Then they come home play four and they needed overtime to win at home against Fordham Fordham team. That has just dreadfully bad. Fordham was without their three Best players on offense in that game and they still took duquesne to overtime so really really. Really bad performance Rhode Island's been pretty good this year and I think you know Ken Palm as is number at four assume Rhode Island will be laying a little bit more than four four at the same time I have to Lean Rhode Island in this game. Rhode Island is beaten some pretty good teams at home. Providence was a nice win. They'd be Davidson Davidson by eleven points. Now we'll talk about Davidson. They haven't really been very good. But they beat Alabama by fourteen. This is a Rhode Island team. That's been pretty consistently distantly good this year. They had a bad performance against Brown on the road. That home. They haven't really played a bad game yet. They lost Richmond. At Richmond's a good team to me Rhode Island has been very consistent. They played the much tougher schedule. They played the fifty nine tough schedule in the country. They were top fifty nine conference schedule. Duquesne has asked to show me something Duquesne team. I'd like to go against so if this line is four. Four and a half or something like that. I like Rhode Island here. Yeah I like this one you too. I mean you know like I mentioned Duquesne. They're not exactly battle-tested in True Road Games and Rhode Island certainly better than Saint Joe's and George Washington I think Rhode Island rounding into form a little bit. I know they struggled to a degree with Lasalle last time out but I think this is a team that is I think this is a team that has one of the higher ceilings here in the eight. Ten it's not Dayton's level it may be kind of in the realm of VCU. But I just think this spot does really set up pretty well here for Rhode Island and the other eight ten game that we're GONNA key. You just mentioned these teams in one of these teams in passing Davidson and Saint Louis. What stands out about this one for you? Yeah Yeah Davidson's six and eleven. Ats So far this year. They they were thought to be the favorites or second favorites for the a ten in the preseason. What happened at Davidson? I mean I. I don't know what to think of this team very well coached team and I still think Davidson could make a run. But at the same time they sit at two and three in the conference onference and their two wins Fordham and Saint. Joe's I mean this is really been disappointing season so far for Davidson. You Got Saint Louis is offer really good effort Saint Louis Against Dayton in that game. Where Saint Louis showed a won that game you know they were they? Were really really unfortunate. Loss there for them and the Saint Louis team is in a tough spot. Here you know in general like I said this is one where I'd like to back Davidson. And maybe you should back Davidson here. Because they are that they that low. Ats Angle that. I've talked about in the past. You get a team that's low. Ats Against the team. That's done Really well and Saint Louis has been good. ATS for this year. Usually you WANNA back the team. That is not very good. ATS and this one. My lean would be Davidson but I. I can't say that I really trust them very much. They've not just underperformed they've underperformed by so much and they've not been covering the number but it's it's not like they've been close to covering the number and a lot of those. ATS losses so. It's a hard one to back Davidson. I wouldn't WANNA back Saint Louis off that effort against eight and and the definitely a tough spot for them Same time this is not one. I really have a strong lean. I think it's a fascinating handicap and I also think that this game is going to say a lot. aww Both teams because Davidson has to win this game. You know they've already lost three games in the conference. Obviously a lot of time left but dating to lose very many games and there's several other teams at the top there that are pretty good so Davidson if they want to stay in. Check it all with some of those top teams. This is a game they have to win and Saint Saint Louis like I said it's certainly in a difficult spot. If if Saint Louis plays well here that tells us a lot about them aren't so let's go to Thursday here and you and I each picking. You got a game for Thursday to discuss. We'll start with the one that I sent over to you here. This is probably one you would have sent over in fact if I didn't send it to you Belmont and Murray State Little Lovie Movie See Action here. We know that this is the marquee game in this conference and it draws. ESPN two audience on Thursday. Night Yeah I mean this is this is a game where you know we'll have talking about these games that You know most people won't talk about Oughta game like this but these two teams are good. I think that Belmont is not quite as good as they've been in past seasons but they're still a good team and Murray state is clearly really not worth what they were. You know you lose job rant. You'RE GONNA draw. There's no doubt about that He he's obviously been amazing even in the NBA. Already this year. Murray state really is dependent on getting to the line on offense that really stands out to me their fifth and free throw attempts compared to field goal attempts in the country entry Belmont doesn't foul much at all their thirty third release fouls in the country. I think that Murray state as the find a different way Ada score here and I tend to think that Belmont is the better team of these to Murray state not quite as tested either. I mean. In fact I'm looking down to their schedule and I see all the teams beaten here lately and then look down at strength of schedule Murray Status Three hundred and fifty third out of three hundred fifty three teams so Belmont elmont was my initial lean. And I think I liked him a little bit more as we're talking about it here but Belmont a really well coached team. I really liked Casey Alexander. Belmont want a couple of games on the road. ALREADY THEY WANNA at Western Kentucky by seventeen point certainly a really nice when they also wanted in that game against Boston in college on the road earlier this year so Domani road tested already. I tend to think that I I would side with Belmont in this game is. I'm looking here Scott Belmont. What's strength of schedule? Three forty seven so seems kind of stepping up in Class A little bit here and one of the reasons why I wanted to mention this game. Actually you look ahead for for Belmont here. This is a brutal road trip in Clarksville Tennessee. Only about an hour from Nashville about an hour Belmont campus but Belmont Gets Austin P.. He on Saturday so they play arguably the second and third best teams in this conference back to back on the road interesting stress for Belmont here at one one again with that week's strength of schedule could kind of shed some light on the upside of this team actually is. Yeah Austin peas a good team. I think that's definitely land dangerous. Spot there if Belmont plays a close game and loses in overtime or wins a really tight game here it might be a good spot to go against them with Austin Austin T. It wouldn't surprise me if Austin P. ends up being better than Murray state this year so I think that that's certainly a possibility. Austin PIA team that I'd like to talk about more in the future. A Terry Taylor really good player for Austin Peay. I don't think most people know about him. They also have a really good freshman Jordan atoms. So Austin Austin Pia very dangerous team and I like you pointed that one out because we like to talk about you know it's not just this game that matters but we look at this handicap and we see what's coming after it. I do think that this is a very dangerous spot for them in that second game. Well we can certainly talk about P.. Next Monday on the show because they play S. Edwardsville Ville after this Belmont game. It is four five days afterwards but they're going to be laying upwards of twenty points potentially in that one so maybe we'll get a chance to talk about Austin P. on next week's show one more game under the spotlight though here as we finished with a major conference game in the PAC twelve Washington and Utah Washington in playing that. Altitude double here this week. Yeah in general. I like to go against the teams that are playing in that altitude double but at the same time you look at this game. There's something that really stands out to me here and I wanted to point this out to listeners because Utah was terrible against the zone defense last year the utes were first in the PAC twelve an offense efficiency last year but they manage fifty three points at home against Washington and forty five points on the road so Utah could not do anything with this zone defense last year. If you look at how Utah was last year they were ninety four th percentile against man defense top six percent in the country. And then you get fifty six percentile offense against zone so they weren't necessarily terrible against They just weren't very good in this. Washington zone is the best zone defense so clay. So far. This year eighty first percentile only country against man defense sixty six against zone although they have not seen much thrown at all I wanted to point went out because this is something that I think that you should Handicapped pretty closely watch for teams. Who really struggle against a certain type of defense or a certain style we'll Utah seem to really not be very good against some defenses and we know Utah Camp Planning Defense themselves normally at the same time Washington on offenses. This is very limited. They're not a good team at all on offense. They played really quick in non conference. They've slowed things down quite a bit here in conference action. I lean to the Andrea in this game I think that you could get a high one thirties number That will likely get bet down because I think Washington just about every every total of their skits bat down but Utah's offense has been very very efficient last year and this year but they weren't good at all last year against Washington zone own and I wouldn't think that they'd be very good against in this year either. Well lots of good college basketball information on today's show. And that's what we're going to be doing on handicapping the hardwood here over for the next several weeks with Kyle Hunter Professional hiccuper over at Hunter sports picks dot com and better sports picks dot com. What's going on at those two sites right now? Man Yeah. The first.

"And I'm like, I don't know if even playing what am I doing what am I why am I dribble? His ball around. Finally, John called the NCW directly. Which is definitely not encouraged in those PDF files said listen, am I plan or what she's a who? Who is this? This is John cross. She was like oh. And she got a weird and like, quiet. She's like we just got out of a meeting for you much caught on a good day. You'll be the first person to get eligibilty for this. Congratulations. You're playing here. Everybody took the phone away from my ear. And I was like I am. We've asked the NCWA to confirm that John cross was the first person to be granted a medical eligibility waiver due to pass drug abuse. They haven't responded, but the eligibility office at southern Maine has confirmed everything else all season, long Johns. Mom Noel was too sick to attend his gains until senior day. I got up that day was freezing cold by dads. Coming. She's coming. She's she she has to be the game. She sent us an okay John cross walked onto the soccer field at the university of southern Maine carrying flowers for his mom, the PA announcer introduced him may listed like three schools that I'd been to. And I was like wish they skipped over that. And the John's leader, and they were saying all these things knows like 'em. I like, I can't believe I'm here. I thought I was dead or jail or never thought I was going to be doing this that day. I gave flowers my mom. My dad took a nice little picture bay their day. And I'm just glad that I could be a participant and their days. We're that's ons. And then what happened with your mom? So I went home. Sat down my coach my phone rang as my dad, he says complications with cancer, brain cancer is a strange thing. Sometimes it moves slowly sometimes quickly in the hours since she's left the game. Noel cross had lost the ability to walk and speak to the last time. I ever saw him on walk on our own was off field speaking fluently. I remember John cross left is soccer team again. But this time they knew exactly where he was back home spending time with his mom, and if you weeks later when the team played in a waking not too far from Johns hometown, his teammates insisted that he takes the field. He'd finally finished a full season of college soccer like we didn't win a lot. I didn't play spectacular. I was like you just accomplish something that you can be proud of. You are a good teammate this year. You were a good son. Noel cross died a month later. On November twenty fifth two thousand fifteen. These days. John cross speaks to athletes about his addiction and how he keeps himself balanced in sobriety. And he's an assistant coach at Saint Jo's college in Maine where the players know his story, and he leads them in yoga and.

"Fifty WSB. Now more than the skeletons at ladder living. Thank you so much Scott, welcome back to Atlanta living, and we put Mike on hold. Mike was having a question about he has heart disease rampant in his family, even younger children. And so he wanted to know if that was something that he should take his children in and relatives to get a heart scan. So thank you so much for holding Mike, and we'll go ahead and let Dr Joe and Frank Maldonado answer your question. Yeah. Mike, do you mind? If I ask what are the ages of your children that you're concerned about? More. Well, we just had one diagnosed the date seven grandchildren, and they're still a five year old or three year old and nine year old that I'm very concerned about and just so, you know, Dr there's no cholesterol issues or blocked arteries into family, wherever Dr Miller at Saint Jo's indicated to me it was a shame when he opened me up. Mario so clear, but yet the heartless so bad and usually the first indication of heart trouble at all anywhere in the family young or old is the inverted t wave on a EKG. Wow. I'll be honest with you, Mike. It's not common that we would scan children that young. It has been done under circumstances. Very similar to the ones. You're speaking over. There's a tremendously long extensive family history and concerns what I would tell you is if it's something you really want to get done you come in to see is Belinda give you more information. But we're happy to give them a free heart scans just to kind of get a baseline and see where they are. And make sure everything's okay. On our part will do anything we can to help, sir. Hey, thank you so much Mike what we want. You to do is call the office and that number Frank is seven seven zero seven three zero zero one one nine, okay. That seven seven zero seven three zero zero one one nine and for this month. So don't Terry. I mean get on the phone Monday. I will they can get a free heart and lung scan from now until the end of November. Now, they're going to be closed thanksgiving and the Friday after okay? Okay. Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Dr Joe you'll have a great after thanks so much. Prayers. Thank you. Okay. Bye. Bye. Elevated to a medical doctor. Thank you, Mike. There was a medical doctor. But I am not. But thank you for. You know, we can we can let it slide. Okay. Thank you so much. Oh, that's that's just heartbreaking to hear these young children at ages of five and seven and eight are going through this. You know, what if I can say something really quick? And and I think most people know about Dr Joe's products, and this is sincere. An absolutely a personal experience. We have been taking his products for months, I've got two of my daughters with me me and g g who were ten and eight they take his powder. Don't understand that. It's in a lot of the beverages. They're having them convicts posing myself. She's got this confused. Exactly. But I'll I'll be honest with you. It's tremendous what those products. Do we feel great? I can tell you that personally. There's more energy. I feel cleaner. It's a nice way. Because you don't always even when I'm conscious of my health. You don't always take the time to eat the proper foods. You're on the go. You throw his products in a shake, and you do feel different. And that's a personal endorsement so I would say that to Mike as well. It's something you might want to do with his young ones. Absolutely. How do you? What? Do you mix your powder with? I put it right into a protein shake one of my shakes that we put in our berries. And our in our in our bananas soi, actually incorporated, right? Into one of my protein shakes for the kids. We just do with a little fruit smoothie, okay, that's tremendous and the products call Dr Joe, super, grains, Dr jobs.

"Right, right. Totally understand. We all know and our hearts go out to show. But you know, even those people look, I mean, I think the second greatest play ever saw basketball. Maybe the greatest is Michael Jordan comes back to the garden doesn't play for year and a half the night. He gets fifty five last possession, everyone in the entire world knew that Michael Jordan's gonna take that shy. And what does he on the double team? He dumps it download of big Bill was wanting to win Winnington to make the layup. To me. I've rarely seen anything smaller. The are the best player I've ever seen what Larry bird's. Oh, no question. That's right. Still. On average Habich. Excellent. Havlicek says something that he's a teammate of Bobby Knight in college, and they play at Saint Jo's and I got a clip of how Bobby I was pretty pretty wild. He knocked out the hawk. You see the hawk from Saint Joseph's running around Bobby beats the hawk, right? That's question while let you get on outta your and I thank you so much for your time. When folks walk away from watching this film basketball, a love story, twenty hours sixty two short stories. Who will we walk away having a greater appreciation for more so than anybody else you imagine. I can't answer that. I can't answer that. I don't know. I don't know. I mean, there's the brain power is not a person. Hopefully they'll walk away saying, this is why I love this game. This is it, man. I love new. Even more just talking to you about it. And and Ben job comes to GM, but she calls them up. It says, you can't talk to this boy. That's what he says. You can't talk to you. This boy. This problem. He's eventual says, why not? He says, don't owe your coach or an assistant coach. That's not your job. So Ben job says on camera. Wait a second. If that boy had a bad back, you'd allow me to talk to him and bring them to the doctor, right? Oh, yeah. Well, this boy, he's got a bad brain and you're not letting me talk to him that line. "Talkradio six eighty WCBS coming, up this hour Then jealous wants freebies for illegal alien DACA recipients so we'll take a look at that story As the Catholic church reels from a sexual impropriety scandal mount Saint. Joe's former teacher has been named a Baltimore democrat. Delegate facing ethics panels over sexual misconduct allegations County sheriff's battling over when they can take, guns away from individuals governor HOGAN and Democrats cheering the fact that they propped up ObamaCare here in Maryland will get all these stories more and in. Thirty minutes the? Winningest, NFL coach in history and one of. The greatest quarterbacks of our time spent time together here in Baltimore and yet never won a championship why was that. Well we'll find out in the new book collision of wills by Jack Gilbert is all about Don Shula Johnny you should be interesting So we talked about this earlier this, morning. Or five o'clock hour Democratic gubernatorial candidate Ben jealous wants the state to. Cover, the cost, of community, college, tuition for, illegal. Aliens aka Dr recipients aka dreamers aka undocumented immigrants new Marylanders whatever he wants. Three, million dollars to pay for an estimated seven hundred illegal aliens now never mind that you law abiding residents of. The state of Maryland legal. Immigrants resident aliens and. Tax paying citizens you don't qualify for this you don't get it But the. The illegal aliens do Now they. Already get some accommodation by governor HOGAN signed a Bill passed by the democrat general assembly in the. Past that allows for free tuition but you have to have a two point three GPA and your household could not make over one, hundred fifty thousand dollars or more But jealous wants to do away with those. Restrictions and it's all Ali income free for. Illegal aliens and I want an insult to resident aliens legal immigrants and tax payers of Maryland that. There's no equal treatment under the law this particular case if you're an illegal you can get up to four thousand dollars a year That's what it costs to attend a. Community college here in the state of Maryland never mind you should go. Out and find a job and and put money. Away for your education and work for like so many of us have done in the past now freebie Ben wants to give. It all away, those that have violated, the laws of the United States it's completely unnecessary that We are even talking about. Tax payers funding freak Community college tuition, for illegals It shouldn't be the. Taxpayers burden to begin with and you can argue whether it's a, good idea or bad idea but that the nets Mellon taxpayers shouldn't have to pay for. What what they should do and we have enough liberals who are well to. Do here in this state if they, really believe in this stuff then go to the private sector and get the three million dollars a year and have the private sector who believes in. The freebies for these, dreamers let them finance it not all of the Maryland taxpayers Well you know that would be a novel approach but it's something that we. Create yeah you could, you could create illegal alien scholarships Hey funds that can be. Created by these rich liberals here in the state all the all the high schools have endowment funds all your colleges have, endowment funds the private sector here in this state could establish a liberals I'm talking about 'cause you wouldn't see, conservatives getting involved in but the liberals who believe in this stuff. All, the endowment fund and it would gain interest and everything else and then they make accomplish what they what they're trying. To do now this is. Nothing, more than, we've seen before where they want, to call the walking around money. Or, pandering or. Whatever this is Ben jealous pandering Are, certain community. To a certain type of, voter to the, identity politics the special interest groups of the, democrat party and it's unnecessary and I think it's it's unfair it's unfair for. The rest of Marylanders you don't get that kind. Of access you don't get that. Kind of treatment if you know you're a household and that's the other thing that there's other Bill as I've stated earlier, your work real hard you bust your tail let's say you make one hundred and ten thousand dollars or whatever, as a as a household while you'd get the treatment under the. Current, Bill but if you make one hundred fifty you don't so I mean to me it's just it's I hate this. Progressive the way that they The way the tax system is coated the way. That they qualified people for scholarships intuition and so. Software just remember nothing is free nothing is free so liberals. If you're listening remember it's your taxes that's gonna pay for this as well. All right give scholars fourteen WCBS six eighty one eight hundred. WCBS eighty former longtime teacher mount. Saint Joe's brother Flaherty is his name. And apparently there's been alleged sexual abuse. Of a minor back in the eighties. Apparently this coming out of we're, hearing from mount Saint Joe's President George Andrews he. Sent a letter to, the school community the, allegation that does not. Involve a current or former student at Saint Jo's which Frank graduated from in the interest of folders clover disclosure rather and Melba Saunders spokesman for. Baltimore state's attorney's office they're declining comment, on an. Open and pending manner flirty, was suspended last, week from his teaching job at Saint John's Prep in danvers Massachusetts where he worked for about eight, or nine years and others are saying that again he. Served as a teacher before and after he became. A brother at Saint Jo's but again this is not for. Activity At Saint Jo's no it it probably, have happened off campus with a non students if Embiid happened back in the mid, nineteen eighties so again this is after you know the the devastating revelations last week. And what, was happening in in Pennsylvania With some are pushing back against that but the pope is now come out and he sent a letter. Addressed it, to to Catholics worldwide there, will no longer be any more cover-ups and if that's the case then I think what killer they removed his name from a. School here cardinal world in DC had his name taken off of the the entity in in Pittsburgh. And so I think anyone and everyone who. Had anything to do with, this Should. Should either resign or, in some cases I think there are going to be some prosecutions. In this particular case we're talking about the Xavier gonna brothers who teach at Now Saint Joe Brothers are separate from the. Archdiocese of Baltimore they're not part of the archdiocese school. System right heart it's eight fourteen time for WCBS traffic. And weather first now, with the update we've got the king. Of all traffic Woody Johnson is with. Us big delays now coming out of the city with. The new wreck southbound ninety five right after the interchange. At three ninety five looks like the road blockages on the right side of can't tell for sure the cameras, little far back but we definitely have. Road blockage south it's affecting the ride out of the. Fort McHenry tunnel the ramp from three ninety five leaving downtown trying to get onto ninety five south is also backed up more stop than it is go right. Now and northbound we'll. Look at it so we. Have a delay there is new problem and it is. On I seventy let me change the camera. Here very quickly eastbound I seventy about a mile before the beltway one vehicle actually two vehicles in the center lane a truck on. The right shoulder so right now it's the right lane and the left lane getting by, police and fire not there yet when it comes to fire department now from the southbound or make that west Bound side of I seventy so they're just arriving so right now anybody east on seventy from, twenty nine here we go again with. Another major backup developing it'll be a lot better if. They can get those vehicles out of the center lane but we're now getting an impact and of course the big wreck four five vehicles were involve around the. Interchange at route one. Hundred right before the ramps. At I ninety five in Howard county I'm Chuck Whitaker. With traffic and weather first talk radio six. "Guess what you're in the middle of a Stephen swift show podcast not made it. I've been waiting to touch on this as well. Jerry Jones owner for the Dallas Cowboys. Has a lot of things to say about this whole national anthem issue. Obviously, most of it was before he got busted keeping his hat on and not honoring the the Corum that comes with saluting off lag, and you know, standing for the national anthem or what have you haven't heard President Trump speak about that. Play is do something like that about five tweets, ready. Jerry does does that we haven't heard a word, but that's neither. You know, they're, here's Jerry Jones speaking on a policy being in place before his policy being in place before the NFL did. It's our position that we've always had written policy in place that in and of itself is an issue, the interpretation of that policy. But I think we've always had a policy in place, but more importantly than anything, we certainly have a policy relative to the team and that very clear. So they had a policy in place even though the NFL didn't. So there's no rules collectively bargain that is that stipulates in mandates standing for the national anthem. If you're an NFL played, hadn't an MBA hadn't major league baseball hat in National Hockey League, don't have it in the NFL, but Jerry Jones had his own policy. Okay. Says he doesn't support players staying in the locker room either listen to this, would you support a player who felt strongly that he needed to stay in the locker room during the leg of the anthem? You know our policy is that you stand at the anthem toll on the line. Believe it or not, though Jerry Jones did say he'd wished president of the United States which stopped doing something listen to this, his interest and what we're doing is problematic from my chair. And I would say in general, the owners chair unprecedented if you really think about it, but like the very game itself, that's the way it is and we'll deal with it. But yes, I'd like everybody would like it to go away. We want me to tell y'all was really, really going on why these owners are so affected by the presence of President Trump. I'm gonna tell you and just a few minutes. It hasn't been mentioned by anyone, but I'm gonna tell you exactly why a few minutes why the owners can't simply tell Donald Trump to go kick rocks Maya damn business and leave NFL business to these NFL owners. I'm gonna tell you specifically why now only can they not tell him that wa? Almost the fear of God himself is instilled in them by President Trump. No one is brought this up. But I'll go there and a few minutes. Glenn affiliate lava Stephen, what's up. Hey, what's going on Stephen a talk. First of all, I'm so glad that in contact you my first time, caller, longtime, listener. Thank you. One question before I get into my NFL point when you went to Winston swinson, Salem, staying, was there a guy named Mark because when your basketball team, it was like six, five, long, brother, Marcus. I forgot his last name. There was a man. There was a more Turner. Was he unfurling? No, he was not. Okay. That's all cause you find a person with another person from filling you. The person from Philly was Monteiro, who was the former head coach at Delaware to former assistant coach as Saint Jo's university in Philadelphia, who's one of who's one of my best friends in the world..
