Climate Change, Bad Luck Behind MN's Smoky Summer

"Wildfire smoke is in our lungs and in the news this summer. And it's literally off the charts on minnesota's air quality monitors and inside that smoky haze fingerprints of climate change enhanced. Wildfires data from climate central shows. The number of large wildfires out west has tripled since nineteen seventy and the number of air quality. Alerts in minnesota is rising in tandem with these bigger more intense wildfires. matt carlson tracks. That smoke. he's a meteorologist with the risk evaluation and air modeling unit at the minnesota pollution control agency. I'm at welcome to climate cast. Thank you for having me. Let's start with the air quality records this summer. How high did particular readings peak last week. Our highest that we had on record was a daily average of two hundred eight Micrograms and that is an all time record By almost twofold for an entire twenty four hour period and these types of concentrations are something that is you know typically seen mountains in the west where smokers trapped so very unusual to see this type of readings in the upper midwest. And tell me if. I'm right about this. I thought i saw that. Saint cloud had a reading of four hundred twenty two micrograms. Cubic meter last thursday Isn't the top of the very unhealthy category of the air quality chart at three hundred. So that was literally off the charts. It was yes. I think i was looking at the numbers and these wildfire. Smoke driven air quality alerts. Haven't they doubled in the last several years and so we have just completed. Our eighth air quality alerts the season. And yes that's a record for us and that's three more than we have ever issued. The trend has definitely been increasing so the climate change connection with wildfires in the western. Us and canada is pretty clear. Now the amount of acreage and the number of large fires is going way up and minnesota of course sits down wind from most of these fires. Is that a simple way to look at our changing summer. Air quality here changes definitely set the primer for this these kind of long duration droughts mixed with periods of very heavy rain so that that's kinda the conditions we're looking at but in this particular season. What's been unusual. We've had cold fronts comes through multiple times now with no precipitation and that's not so much. Climate changes that is just unlucky weather for us the past couple of years. We've had the fires in canada but the cold fronts that have come through the area had enough moisture available to them to produce rainfall washed off the particular matter so it's it's kind of a combination both of climate change but also the local meteorology has been going on this summer has has definitely made the situation worse. Yeah and we've seen these dry fronts coming through this year in spades looking at the models. Hopefully it looks like we may get some rain and some of the fire areas in canada might get some rain in the next week or two the wildfire trends show no sign of pulling back in the west. What can we expect in the years ahead for minnesota if these wildfire trends continue. So what we've seen this year could very well be what we're going to start seeing in the future. There has to be a couple of things that will happen one. Obviously we have to have a busy wildfire season. That's not a given but something that we would expect more of a changing climate but then on top of that we have to have the meteorology that one allows that smoke to be transported into minnesota and to allows that smoke to get down to the ground. And so it's hard to say we're gonna see these really extreme air. Quality is on the go with a busier fire season. But it's definitely something that if we have more fires in the areas we'll definitely continue to have

"Thank you let's go to will in Saint cloud line five will what's going on Hey how you doing doing great how are you good good odds head to question yeah I'm okay first question was about mortgages and they said that our mortgage companies are going to give you the option all yes Sir one hundred and eighty thousand if that that money would be due at the end of that time frame for it for example my thirty year loan will turn into thirty years and two months if you call your mortgage company and they and they tell you that they have a two month or three month reprieve then it will be added on to the end of your mortgage there we have heard from some people that said their mortgage company told them they don't have to pay their mortgage for three months but then on the fourth month after pay all all three all three months and and that is incorrect they they might say that but that is not what the mandate is going to be from the feds if they let you skip to payments are three payments those will go on the end of your mortgage so like if you had a thirty year mortgage it'll be thirty years and three months awesome awesome great now my second question was about unemployment that kind of a unique situation up to a half weeks he'll actually quit my job start a new job and about three days after I quit it's wonderful lockdown happened and I got notification from my new job I couldn't get on a plane and I was going so because I actually quit my job would actually be eligible for unemployment actually filled out everything let's get on a question about how do you know lose your job have you been searching for employment growth is warning how that works right well technically if you quit your job I'm not sure that he would be that I'm not sure you'd be eligible are you probably gonna have to get on the unemployment line and speak with somebody or you know just say you lost your job due to a coronavirus and hope for the best yeah hello no complete answer but that's kind of what I figured I'm able to get a hold of them all right all right I don't mean to rush off the phone what we what we want we want to squeeze in an open Mike or to hear so thank you for listening well good luck to you let us know what happens Katrina what do you have over there all right I got a couple of things over here let's start with this one how many tests have been put out and once the percentage of people that have been found with the covert nineteen virus as compared to people not having it this is a good question only ten point eight percent of the people tested in Florida are positive for the disease and actually the chance of someone dying in Florida from cover nineteen is at one point seven percent that's lower than most of other places right now at least so far I let's see internationally the average of people testing positive is eighteen point eight percent of course we would talk about New York it's been really bad there that's forty point five percent there over there New York is open Mike is hoping to take advantage of all this cheap gas at the gas stations would.

"Website AT III dot org and this is John in Saint cloud Minnesota hello John all right ma'am yeah I've got an unexpected consequence of the restaurant down okay the long food hauling truckers are unable on mayor when they're on the road to find places to eat to get concrete go to the bathroom and to refuel their trucks because of the shutdown hi this is Brian depend right we quickly find all work around for them well we obviously we have to have a workaround for this country depends on the truck side I cannot emphasize enough if there were no trucks in this country there isn't a major city in the country that wouldn't have people starving within a month without trucks so whatever we do in that regard rubbish it would seem that it has to include some kind of allowance for those people that maybe they can all carry sack lunches but then they've got to have those certainly fuel for their vehicles yeah and interrupt you know hopefully I know a lot of restaurants are doing this sort of take out or delivery model and you know whether they can sustain themselves that way this is an open question I mean you know one thing that I think you have to be face clearly if this cannot go on this is not sustainable for an extended period of time yeah I'd not saying that this isn't the right thing to do right now and that we shouldn't you know do it as long as we reasonably can but we can't I think shut down our economy you know because sometimes you hear people say well this could last you know five six months eighteen months or something and that's just I think well it's just not not not something our society can do it wouldn't happen I mean the yeah that's right when we went down with consequences far worse than than what we're talking about now so as we go back to some more culture let me just simply follow up with that we've heard in recent days the president talk about six to eight weeks which would put us somewhere in may but now he's been saying things like well could go to July or August and of course July and August are when the national political conventions are held of these of course were gathered big time gatherings well a whole lot of people thousands of people in an arena and this sort of thing and so and a lot of older people and a lot of older people yes the people get involved in politics tend to be older people including by the way some of the nominees at this juncture it would appear that both presidential nominees are going to be well into their seventies so let me ask you from from an economic point of view alone are given what we're talking about here shutting down as much of the economy as we're talking about how far could we go can we make it to August or September or the end of the year where in your view would be the breaking point where we simply say Hey enough we we simply cannot keep doing this everybody's got to be really careful and don't sneeze on anybody whole lot of handi wipes and and cleaning off table tops but we can't shut things down any longer how long is that well I think that depends on how successful this period is in flattening the curve we've all seen I think that the that graph what's the what we are trying to do to get the caseloads to the point that it does not overwhelm our medical system and the more effectively we have been you know washing our hands and and social distancing of the more we've been doing that and then it may be possible to relax that regime more quickly if we're you know we're not or if this is not successful then I think that we've got a longer term problem we may have a longer term problem but again back to the original question how long can we keep it up regardless of the outcome I mean even if this disease is spreading like wildfire right there comes a point where we simply say look everybody's got to be careful but we can have a major sectors of the country starving to death while they wait to get the coronavirus there has to be a cut off point and I'm just curious and I know you can't give a an exact amount but we could we make it as long as September or October the other thing is you know if you're not a real proliferation of testing the way we are hoping to see then you can ship strategies toward you know we figured out who actually has it and who doesn't and the people who don't have it can be a little more free and you can have a strategy that is more based on on isolating the people who are really at risk but but he you know I mean you're you're right to suggest the disks you know there's sort of no scenario where we can just keep doing this but I think exactly how it played out is going to depend on things like how quickly we get testing out and how much we flatten the curve the stock to Sheridan crane Missouri hello Sharon hello Jeremy and hello tear gassed one of the things that this is done it has thrown every research labs in the country into the heart for something to break the back of this virus and there's not one community like American ingenuity and I'm a firm believer that I think that possibly the country could last maybe six months at the outset six months no longer and then you're going to be good if people are going to say look I'm not gonna sit home and for the rest of my life I've got to get out there and make a living that's what Americans do now given you stole a little bit of my thunder when you start talking about that constitutional convention you know that I'm all for that another thing that I think once this gets straightened out in order I would go at it hammer and and count we need to get as free from China as we can possibly get that means you bring every single bit of I am a suitable back to this country and you put pressure on the pharmaceutical company because it the government is doing a lot of good for a lot of people in a short here but we can't do this forever the internet is sitting over there and they're looking at it and I want tax model wiped off there yeah they are a and international malignancy the only difference really between now and about say two was that this is not a kinder gentler to China this is a sleeker smoother China they have broken virtually every international agreement they ever agreed to in the post Mao era I I have people talk about about terrorists or quotas against the Chinese and frankly rubbish I I'd be happy to talk about a complete embargo we just don't need to deal with people as a malignant as the Chinese are in this may be very anything good comes out of this it may drive home what I think what Sharon just said that you know so what if we have to pay more for a broom I don't care either they totally reform the way they do things or let them starve to death it matters not to me your thoughts well I do think that it particularly when you're thinking of some critical industries and needs of our country whether it's with pharmaceuticals or rare earth that that we have not been careful about our sort of strategic resources and that sort of the logic of free trade which I actually generally do agree with just can't real file free trade yes they open up their markets at the same time we open up hours not one way yeah if if we had a real free trade I'm with you now how we go about that I think is a really tricky question right I mean yeah we do have these integrated supply sign supply lines we do have the potential of not just having people pay more but also throwing people out of work which we don't want to do so we got a we have to be acting careful and strategic about it but I do think that you're absolutely right your callers share and absolutely right that people are going to be looking at this a little bit more carefully because you know we talked about the trade issues and the way this administration's approach in particular a lot and we haven't really been talking about the specific problems with say pharmaceuticals more to come will be back in a moment this is the story of Julie ko.

"D. BO apple seven nineteen now let's go to Saint cloud bell is joining us now on news ninety six point five W. DPO good morning bill good morning I just wondered are they going to close the movie theaters because people receive a lot closer than in restaurants in the B. moralistic yes so the movie theaters had a horrible weekend with making very little money here in the United States in part due to bad movies now but also because people are generally not going into large groups right now but at some point if a better movie comes out bell seriously that they'll have to make a decision about the hat as it yeah you don't want a whole lot of people crowding around in in movie theaters right now they are closing theaters in other countries but so far in the United States they have not been ordered to close it Joe I'm also we just learned at regal cinemas is going to shut down all of their locations to stop the spread of corona virus and we are looking online and they have many locations here in central Florida clean winter parka veto in Waterford lakes also point Orlando so but the good news is is that some of these movies now all these first run movies are gonna be moving to the small screen so people will be able to rent them at home although they will be more pricey and AMC is also closing their theaters as well and they don't have a time frame but they say for six to twelve weeks yep so there you go I mean yes the two to your point yes the movie theaters are getting close there let's go to Oscar in Orlando you're on Orlando's morning news hi Oscar are you doing today good well where where yes your honor even so they are promoting the kids to the park and take him to the directors which was record came in while we make repairs and keep the kids in the house like we're supposed to do that's what they're trying to give everybody time off work is that stay away from this while we remote staff have activities Oscar thank you so the idea here is is that you're you're staying in small groups not large groups it's it's not that you have to be alone for the next two weeks is that you've you've got a limit your movement you got a limit the engagement that you have with the rest of the public it's okay for you and the kids to go to the park but if you're going to the park and you're hanging out the picnic tables and you're spending five hours there you know hanging out with a thousand people like a tail gate therein lies the problem but if you're just there with your kids and your hipness wings and you go home and wash your hands and everything I mean you're you're you're gonna be okay right eight four four two two zero zero nine six five good morning it's now seven twenty two on this special edition of Orlando's morning news let's go to Melbourne Cindy is joining us now on news ninety six point five W. DPO morning Joe how are you good Cindy thank you I have a couple of questions both of my daughters employers have shut down now because of the corona virus one daughter that has a lot of PTO is being told she cannot use that that they won't pay her that she should sign up for unemployment which is not gonna be nearly enough money but how about can they do that legally I guess first of all and is there going to be any way being of any waiting for unemployment Cindy these are great questions and obviously there are people who work in those industries and are are working to get answers to that but I I don't know that there that in Florida at least I don't know that we have achieved those answers I don't know that we know how this is gonna work out I don't I think that there's a lot riding on this package is going to the Senate today and I think we've done the story this morning rand Paul is is one of the center suggesting that every adult in America gets a check for a thousand dollars kids would get five hundred dollars so half of that so it'll be interesting to see what happens today in the Senate and if they get the go ahead for that because I think there is a lot of confusion about what is PTO what a sick time what is family leave and who is paying what yeah that's interesting the firm that she says that they're not gonna pay the PTO then I got a baby in a few have PTO but they're not gonna pay it if if you're gonna use PTO for those two weeks off for however many weeks off one would think to get paid I'm sure that right now I mean you guys know as well as I do that Morgan a Morgan another law offices are looking at employers who might get access they might get it wrong you know because they were kind of in uncharted territory in in a to a certain extent here right yeah and I think that is part of the issue is that there is so much concern about the liability of this that everybody I think is is is trying to be very careful quoting the CDC right taken time yes and and saying they're observing and kind following the recommendations because they don't want a fat face a massive lawsuit at the end of this and a lot of these mom pot type places and I've got a friend who runs a rest Ron to here in central Florida and we were talking earlier this week about you know what kind of guidance they get it they don't get any I mean they don't get any guidance there there is there is nothing and then then mom pa restaurants have to decide what to do it's kind of like the the bars tonight for St paddy's day you know there is no governing body that says you have to shut down unless and until the city comes in and says you have to shut down otherwise they're they're kind of left to their own devices you know all right we've got this question Joe from the open Mike hoping that we can answer this one here we go there's a lot of the banks have closed their drive throughs I was wondering if you had any information on if they were going to re open the drive throughs temporarily SO that's.

George Sprouse on Managing Biosolids in Uncertain Times

"Episode tackling the issue of Bio solids. It's a it's a very hot issue for the water sector right now. There's a lot of angles and sides to this topic to explore. So I'm very happy to have with me George Spouse. He is manager of Process Engineering and Research and development at the Metropolitan Council of the twin cities he is also the CO chair of West residuals and bio solids conference which is coming up March thirty first to April third in Minneapolis. George thanks for coming on the PODCAST. Thanks very much for having me absolutely So I I started out talking about. Why did by ourselves is a hot issue? Y in your mind are bio solids such an important resource for water utilities and and their communities while the bio solids really represent a kind of a key collection point or a point of concentration for the energy and nutrients moving through a community. So if you think about wastewater or just households that's kind of dispeat- dispersed throughout in a community or a collection system area and really a come together and concentrate and concentrate through through our processes until the point where. I all solids and you know. There's no point in in in that whole flow of energy nutrients where things are quite as concentrated as they are in the Bio solids. So at that point it's really easier and probably most efficient to extract every claim the energy and the nutrients that basically is cycling through a community. And so it's that extraction that allows us to kind of captured things refine them and then return them to the community and this is kind of a key key. Idea for being sustainable. You know that whole circular world rather than ask through world basically and I think bio solids are really kind of nexus point that it it allows at all to happen. Yeah and I think a challenge or maybe some marching orders for a lot of utilities or for our sector is to to do more education around that idea of the these circular nature of Bio solids the way that they are a resource that you just articulated that so well. I think we can definitely do more to try to articulate that to our to the customers out there. So could you talk As far as the Metropolitan Council and they're in the twin cities how you all use your bio solids So I work for the Met Council in our division is environmental services that we provide the way Swat. We provide the wastewater treatment and solids processing for metropolitan area of the twin cities. And we have. We have nine plants. But we've really consolidated are solids processing to wear those plants in by far far away what we do with most of our bio solids is is actually burned them in. Recover the energy directly into Steve. Zoe We have State of the art incineration and air pollution control systems. The heat off of that incineration goes directly into Steam System. That we That we used for plant purposes. He buildings in these called. Minnesota winters but also power the things in in the lab Salata steam and we have two generators so we produce Electricity and offset our electricity use by quite a bit. That's by far and away what we do with most of our bio solids but we do at two of our plants also do the the production of an agricultural material and cultural and biding used by farmers and so we. We have were involved in that as well. I think. One of the great things about this year's Residual I also conference. Is that we. We have to tourists and so one tower will be visiting our facility. The the Energy Recovery Facility here at Metro plant which is which is where we have state of the art Air Kush Two generators producing energy. But we also have associated with the conference second tour where city of Saint Cloud which is just little outside. The on. The twin cities will be offering a tour where they both highlight their land application processes. So they'll cover kind at that side of it and they're not only involved in this land application of Iowa Salads but they're also kind of cutting edge or leading way in nutrient recovery from those energy management recovery. So I think we've got you know that's how in the region that kind of covers both ways or at least two of the main ways I'll are us and so we've Adam both covered at sears a residual I'll salads tour offerings That's interesting to hear that you do that. Much energy generation with your bio solids. That's that's terrific It's it's certainly feeds into that. Circular circular notion. The theme this year for the conference is creative approaches to managing bio solids in an uncertain future. What led you all to to go with that theme really when the Co Chair Anna Monson and I were working on this or thinking about it we. We've we kind of said two things that we really wanted to hit was to help. Attendees it information would help them. Address uncertainty and and understand what the future holds for bio solids programs and then we really wanted to emphasize case studies that share success stories stories. Are you know more engaging in also more enlightening than some some more technical or dry talks in there also from the people who've lived at basically so so those were kind of the two things that I think really drove us to that idea for the team at the Conference Scher Makes a lot of sense when when this phrase uncertain future I have some ideas about what's what's meant there but I'm curious about When when you say uncertain future as it relates to bio solids. What do you mean by that by a vast majority at this point are by far and away emerging contaminants? Are you know how we will be dealing with those in? The future is certainly one of the biggest uncertainties So I think that that's kind of a key one but I think there's also a more there's also more subtle things related to uncertainty about how we will generate the resources or have the resources to actually address emerging contaminant somewhat. They cause as well as just the other unforeseen the unknown unknowns in so I by far enough away emerging contaminant sources at least in my mind in the world. I'm living in right now. The biggest unknown but this idea of like also resources and how to at will be able to actually accomplish things. It's amazing yeah absolutely. And so as we head toward the uncertain future as we grapple with emerging contaminants and resource issues. Why do you think creative approaches will be needed kind of that other part of your theme empowered? Because they're all new and so there's no there's no set solution right now so we're going to have to be creative solutions. I think that's that's kind of a big part of it. I think that I've also heard people mention a lot in. Who Deal or plan or or are involved with bio solids projects that you know nope plant or no bio solids area or no community is are not the same so each each each time. You're dealing with something. You have to be creative buffets. No situation is the same so So it's both the things are new and then the conditions of each situation are unique in. Both of those things require creative thinking. There's no. There's NO COOKIE CUTTER. There's no design guideline that. You just go away the solution in throw it on a sheet basically.

M. eligibility worker at the county and so your question a lot my question is in my job and my pension not quite yet that's a but I will be in about fifteen months we just found out that we are expecting a second child and so my question is is it okay to just call them become a stay home mom well what I would do is practice living on his income only which means you would bank your entire check yeah that's what we plan on doing this winter if you can bank your entire check you've proven to yourself I what I think doesn't matter but you want to prove to yourself that you can live on his check right right and if you can do that absolutely all the bills with his and you put your entire check in savings I mean you could pull a little bit out to cover gas or something that you won't have when you're not working right outside the home and so your your call she will go down when your stay home are there some other savings as well but I don't want to lean too heavily on those I want to learn to live on his income and then the second part of the question is I'm I have some real strong discussions about what he's doing to increase his income it was thirty two F. forty two I don't want to make in thirty eight yeah you know I hear all these you're always news reports about stagnant wages yeah I'm wages are stagnant but stagnant people sometimes have stagnant wages because we just don't pay attention and so what you gotta do is not be stagnant they're gonna say I'm gonna look in one of I gotta do to make this to the thirty two and I gotta make sixty two when I got to make a hundred and sixty two and I don't know what he does with that maybe owns a welding shop some day working for him I don't know but but long term ten year plan five year plan what are we doing to get his income up on it because you know I don't want your thirty eight thousand which is less the average household income in America it is about fifty six thousand dollars right now and so you would be at you know considerably less than the average household income which is fine but I don't want that to be my long term game plan does that make sense so I want to talk about his career track in which you live on his check and if you do both those things that are absolutely if your desires to be home full time with the children absolutely go do that no matter the pension no matter you know because of my Mexicans outcomes would wrap to get about three hundred from my income and and Matt income after all expenses take care all of that the concern when that yeah it doesn't matter if you can live on his in your desires to be at home okay and if he has only under fire again if he has a plan to increase his over time and you know maybe you've got a plan to do something and start a business or start a new career when the kids start school some day I don't know but anything and that's.

"Capital One, especially our Saint Cloud site has really paved the way much earlier starting in two thousand fourteen we created the Saint Cloud military business resource group, and as part of that group we wanted to have an internal network where other military veterans spouses would feel comfortable coming with questions concerns. So really an internal support network as well as a core group of folks in our site that we're willing to go out and externally help local organizations as well. So read out of the gate. We quickly partnered with wars citizens group, the VA DAV habitat for humanity and some of their veterans specific builds and then locally here in Minneapolis. We've we've supported the Fisher house quite a bit. So there's a lot of other groups that we've supported, but I think all of that that what we've been. Doing for the last several years have really paved the way to becoming a yeller been company now in late two thousand eighteen and some of our future commitments that we've outlined to Annette and the group for twenty nineteen is is we seek to establish new relationships where our community partners such as student veteran organizations and local college campuses as well as partnership with camp Ripley and general crews, we're looking to build on a military transition program in partnership with our military business resource group, which I mentioned to support job transition and career development for veterans and spouses, including providing training and resources to people managers, so they can support associate development. Additionally, we have a goal to better understand the experience of our veterans military members and spouses utilizing benefits and support services at Capital One just essentially to ensure that we identify any gaps if any exists so right? It sounds like you had a lot going on at Capital One financial corporation before you met. A net and in becoming a yellow ribbon company got to formalize the process and expanded and in dedicated to yourselves to doing more to help our veterans and their families. Oh, absolutely. Like, I said we try to do as much as we can. And you know, part of that for us is just we continue evolve. And how we celebrate and honor our veterans and how we support them, and there's several initiatives that we're currently executing within Capital One the include, you know, our military days in our Capital One cafes. So it's not just internal associates, but anyone including yourself internet could come in. If you had a military ID and receive a free medium beverage in. Our cafe anyone across the country on all military, birthdays and holidays that were open. We have you know, internal veteran of the year award that we provide to a veteran that has been, you know, showing great support toward military business resource group as well as a success in their role. And then we also partner with the Saint Claude rocks and their hometown heroes partnership. They allow some of our military veterans and spouses on our site to go out sit in a box seats throw out the first pitch and get accustomed jersey, which is which has been great. We also have internal events outlining military history month, which is a may as you know. And then we have a national Veterans Day celebration. Every year this last couple of years, we've had some pretty exciting guests can Fisher from the Fisher house joined us two years ago. And most recently this last Veterans Day Dakota Meyer spoke, so it was pretty riveting to hear his speech. So the net Capital One. I don't think I've heard a list like this from any your yell Ruben companies yet, they're really loaded. Oh my goodness. Say they have just been amazing and they've been involved with our community yellow ribbon network warriors citizen for the very beginning. And we're just so proud of that partnership. Ryan one of the things when you become a yellow ribbon company. They have a couple of times a year. They get the L ribbon companies together, and they share best practices. If you've been able to participate in any of that yet. Really we have a lot of it has to do with just getting out in the community engaging with organizations and people making connections on capitol. One does a great job at this. And we have a very active recruiting base supporting military, creating events both nationally and locally. Now, we consistently look for new ways, the training, educator recruiters and people leaders about recruiting and retaining military hires. You know, locally, we partner with Saint Cloud VA to support their annual job fairs and have assisted the greater Saint Claude Development Corporation of facilitating conversations for employers around best practices for hiring military veterans and spouses, really at a high level, the the the key to it in my opinion that we've been successful around is education awareness barn on is is the key. And that's what we try to do obviously internally and then. In front of other employers won't given the opportunity having great recruiting partners. So we as I mentioned we've partnered with hiring our heroes in the past. And we actually have an upcoming event here in mid-march at the XL energy center that will be taken apart of recognition events, which I mentioned some of them just before our key in supporting our military veterans and spouses, and then just the values right? You know, what we see out of military veterans, and the values that they have is exactly what we're looking for Capital One. And what I feel all employers should be looking for associates to win win there. So no, you were in the military, and you work at Capital One financial there. Let other veterans working there. There are. So once again, our Saint Cloud site is roughly around two thousand people so it's much smaller than some of other people centers across the country. But there still is a very large population of military veterans and spouses, and then obviously supporters within our site. So and then you've made as part of being coming a company you've made a commitment to recruit and hire other veterans. Absolutely. Yup. Capital? One Bradley has made a a very large commitment to continuing in hiring capital. One mil- military veterans and spouses, very good Ryan with.

"Great backhand goal by Sammy Walker. Fifteen forty seven of the first period is tied this game between the golden gophers and Arizona state on independent program out of the desert southwest. Well, this weekend marks the end of a twenty year career for big ten referee CJ, Berlin. He's a twin cities and our auto round. Good guy. "Latch, switch then you're probably looking at a lot in control module issue. And thanks for hollering at us today. They have a George Michael calling in from Saint Cloud come on in which you got Larry Perry. Hey, Larry how you doing? One man, it's an easy three fifty with a five point or heard you talk a little bit earlier about timing chain issues got one hundred hundred and thirty five thousand miles runs. Good. It does have a little chip in the morning, and then smooths out is that something that should be concerned about. You know on that motor that the the noise dissipates and goes away. Yeah. Goes away within about a minute or two, you know, like it's warming up or something. Yeah. It's really hard for me to say. But let let me let me tell you like this a lot of that during that era the four sixes and five fours. I would get a lot of calls on that particular issue where where people would hear this little faint knock when he was start these things up cold. And then the noise would go away, and what we wound up determining Michael. And I don't want this thing to scare you. I really don't I don't want. I don't want this to be something that you worry about because I have never ever heard of this instant, this instance, where you have this little slight not ever decreasing the life of the motor or causing a a mass problem. You know, say a large problem what we have determined that. This is it is a situation to where they use these short skirt. Pistons, and it was real prevalent back in the early two thousands where they took these pistons, and they literally almost eliminated the skirts on the side of him which helped stabilize them and the cylinder bore itself. So what would happen is? You would start these things up cold, and you would actually hear the pistons actually rocking in the cylinder bore. But as soon as they got enough heat to the piston the piston actually expanded by the heat enough in order to actually quite them down. And then you wouldn't hear it the rest of the day. The only time you would ever hear this is during cold start. I if this is the issue that you're dealing with with that motor. That motor that you're talking about. There did not have any real timing chain issues. I mean, you probably going to need one and a couple of hundred thousand mile, but as far as you know, anything earlier than that, probably not. But what you're hearing. And I hate to say this is pretty much a normal scenario for that particular motor. So, you know, I it's one of these issues. My the best advice, I can give you is don't worry about it. Just do your wall changes your maintenance as you normally would. But don't worry about that little bit of annoys at your hearing. You weren't the only one that experienced that. And it's nothing that you could go in there and replace the pistons, and it would still make the same noise. It is the design of the pistons that allows that little bit of a knock during cold start. But after worms up it goes away. So I wouldn't worry about it. Just let it be. And you know, it'll sort itself out leave well enough.
