I think she's often been seen as this crazy woman. One in actuality. It's just her. Grief was just too much for any person to deal with on on her own. I mean and you know. Even when abe was alive they didn't grieve the same way She would oftentimes be off in her room and he would be. You know going to The gravesite to mourn and stuff or they just they just grief differently. I think the timing of the spiritualist movement and the started the sanitariums popularity in the us played a major in. How people saw her so. Mary spent the next four years traveling through europe and took up residence in france for a little while but during this time her health really started to decline she suffered from severe cataracts that left her eyesight largely diminished which caused her to fall off and in eighteen seventy nine. She suffered a spinal cord injury from a fall from a step ladder. She successfully petitioned congress for an increase in her in her pension and also got a one time bonus. Yeah yeah she did really well. She was really good with politics and Especially you know. The republican party was Just starting off with abe lincoln so You she made a lot of connections so in the early eighteen eighties. She was forced to return to springfield into live out her final days with her sister. Her health kept her from doing anything else besides just living she needed around the clock. Tragic very much but Obviously you know was able to to accomplish too. And she was well known in her day to even even after a pastime. Sure i'm sure Constantly in the paper you know probably for not great things but you know she was. She was definitely a A pop figure. Yeah those days interesting all right. Oh My Gosh another one I love this too successful marriage is in a row in two thousand and two. Sarah. Michelle gellar and if you're a Howard Stern Fan, you've heard her called Sarah Michelle Galore for one hundred years. She married actor Freddie Junior and I love them. They're still together. They are beautiful. Those are two people who've just lived a happy healthy life. Neither one of them looked like they've had a whole lot of surgeries if. And they just looked like happy versions of themselves twenty years later. So while eighteen years later their marriage. So congratulations to them. Sadly, in two thousand, six, we lost TV personality and Animal Guru Steve Irwin. The Australian TV personality from the Crocodile Hunter who was attacked and killed by a stingray at age forty, four his daughters out and about living her best life and really honoring her father and making him so proud and that's so cool to see. Kelly Clarkson in the year two, thousand two was named the first ever American idol winner, and if you ask me still the best to this day, lots of other gory contestants, I mean hello Jennifer Hudson. Adam Lambert but she's I think the best winner of the show and over all those years. All my Gosh I feel like we've just had so many successful marriages today. This one is from two thousand fourteen. My boyfriend. Okay. My boyfriend from new kids on the block now like as kid like Joey Joe the most. But now as an adult Donnie Wahlberg, it doesn't for me Oh long Donnie actually married Jenny McCarthy from singled out and they were married in Saint Charles Illinois and I love this that they actually met as guests on Bravo's watch what happens live. So love that story and so happy for them. Oh. My Gosh. This is terrible and I still think about this death at least a couple times a week in twenty. Fourteen Joan rivers died at age eighty one after she had complications from a procedure on her vocal cords she of course was the host fashioned police, which is why I loved her so much. But she had also been a comedian on Hollywood squares. She was the first ever woman to host a late night television show. So a true. Pioneer. For Women. She really normalized won't have to normalize women comedy. She was an amazing stand up comedian I. Loved Her so much. Every Saturday. Morning I still miss fashion police it would come on. Friday nights and I was young and cool and did things then so I would save it from Friday night every Saturday morning I watched trash and police, and I still miss it every single week. So rest in Peace Joan rivers, I will always be Jona Arranger In Twenty fifteen. This was the first year that Kanye announced he was going to become president and he said that he was going to run in twenty twenty and here we are. So beautiful anyway the fourth remake of star is born this wintry during Hollywood hottie Bradley Cooper and Pop. ELECTRONICA. Superstar Lady Gaga. Their movie premiered at the Venice Film Festival and I haven't seen a star is born in a minute. So actually might need to stream that at some point I think I'm in the mood for a good cry sometimes like nothing's really wrong. Everything's wrong. Let's be honest. But like nothing terrible like to me right now as far as like I'm not bleeding I'm feeling well like health all those leak major things like I have shelter I have food in my belly. I'm not like freezing or like burning up to death all those things are okay. But I'm GonNa funk and when I need a good cry maybe. A star is born might just be one of my new movies. I haven't needed a good cry in a minute. So maybe a star is born will be that for me. I can only imagine talking to about thirty seven days was writing. I mean, are you ever gonna ride a bike again? And he's like ten days ago. I would never write a bike again, seventy miles a day, all weather conditions uphill. In some they had a whole day or two just completely a pill. Wind. I mean just on the road, the hallway unbelievable disguise what a feet and but that do distracted and I said to him, and they were trying to they couldn't eat enough, which is another thing because burning calories so fast. "The press to have another update here in about seven minutes. Offers sue from Saint Charles Illinois, saying I'm all over the place on Robert Kraft. I will ask you the audience. Now, remember he hasn't been charged with human trafficking. There's no video out yet. It's from all police reports two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution. What should be as punishment? I would love to hear from you. One eight five five two one two four CBS. That's one eight five five two one two four two two seven at Saturday, huge on Twitter, Saturday night, he'll show on Facebook. I think there's just again he's stupid. He broke the law. But there are so many people in this country. Just looking to bury the patriots. He's the owner what he did in that dive strip mall. What are you allegedly dead has nothing to do with the New England Patriots? Ballot. Check Brady gronk or what they do on the field. Team bus didn't pull up to the orchid Asian spot Jupiter. It's amazing. How many people just connected this to everything? Deflate gate video gate. Headphone gate. Aaron hernandez. The minute. This story hit. And how they connected it right to human trafficking, which I said there is some proof some day, then he is finished. But it's two misdemeanors. Soliciting prostitution. He was stupid is that enough to be banned from the NFL. I don't know. I know you'll get them a five hundred grand fine. And like I said four six eight games where he's not allowed. Gillette to watch him play his team. If it does get to that Defcon five level of there is a video if there is more to it. Then he signs over the team to a son. That would be my guess. Gosh, just the the constant piling on on the patriots. Yeah. He he was busted. Along with what what are they saying twenty five other guys, maybe like, a president of a boys and Girls Club in know, former hedge fund manager. Places popular. Does it warn being banned? From the NFL and some people are calling for that. They're connected in human trafficking. He wasn't charged with felony human trafficking. He's charged with soliciting allegedly soliciting. Sex from prostitutes. Dray in Fort Worth Texas listening on one of five point three of them in the Metroplex here on the Saturday night. He'll show. Hey, how you doing allow I like say this about about Robert Kraft? I'm going to say it is this in the face of anybody who's trying to talk about the guy. Most men they go to massage parlours. That's basically what they're doing. Because most men who go there. They know that for the end the day messiah, so I don't know why a lot of people are trying to attack him. Second of all dealing with the people kneeling today. I would just say this is really sad that things are still going on like they are. Because the one thing I will say. Racism is still very very prominent in the south in the south. I mean, I'd say in Texas. It's still a lot of racism down here. Dan, you know, Spacey places like Mississippi, Georgia, I know, it's a ladder racism down there still, and it's really sad that is twenty nineteen and we still living at a time that racism is at a high peak like it is. And the one thing that I do want to ask, and I'm just curious to know. I haven't heard of if Trump has addressed this. But know, there's one thing I wanna know. I wanna know is he gonna address is in the reason I'm saying that remember when they had that situation that happened down the South Carolina. Trump did not address the white supremacists. Who d- what they did? He blamed it on black lives matter. And I'm saying that is if you've got a leader, they're showing racism, what's he think the rest of the people? Don't do. With you. Right, right trade. Thanks for the call and Fort Worth. I agree. The government should speak out. And tell Mississippi dropped the thirteen stars of the confederacy from your flag. Your state flag. It's two thousand nineteen. It's like he threatens to withhold government money. He should he should do that. With you one hundred percent again, I'm not going to get into a pro Trump anti Trump. But you know, he has he went into the Colin Kaepernick circle. He talked about the protest. Can you tell this is where it gets different? This is a different protests. These guys are protesting something that was happening at the same time as their game with pro confederacy. But then when Devon from Mississippi home in Jackson for a weekend with family and friends enlightens me that the state flag still has thirteen stars of the confederacy. And the pledge to the state flag is about their great past in history. Whoa. Pump the brakes you don't need to punish everybody in Mississippi. You go to the politicians you begin with their governor. Senators congressmen congresswomen and you say it's time to take the stars off the flag. The question is politicians. Go by the pulse of the people. Who will lectu your constituents looking at all the flags? We're taking care of the veteran side of things I really did. And I thought that's why there's the pro confederate flag push confederacy. I really I added not think there were still the thirteen stars of the confederacy. On any state flag. Go to add in Chicago listening on AM six seventy to score you're on the Saturday night. He'll show Bill. Let me give you my opinion at all this stuff with other the league to all these leaks worrying about what the players owners and all the rest of them. Do. I don't care what these guys do is long as they're not having another people they can have prostitutes, they can get drunk. They can take drugs they can deal during the national anthem play the game, and I'll be happy. And thank you Bill. Thank you out in Chicago. A short. But sweet. Version of this huge opinion you want to join us for our final segment. One eight five five two one two four CBS. That's one eight five five two one two four two two seven at Saturday, huge on Twitter and Saturday night show on Facebook time for another update. Once again, here's Chris lopresti..

"We were talking about that. We've also got the live bonus tracks on here. And what a great job Brian Mixim. He's I'm telling you. He's a genius. He and so these were recorded from guess things happen that way in Saint Charles, Illinois. Well, it's the venue is club arcada, we okay in Saint Charles, and and just a really cool room. Ronald nasty is the owner there, and he he fog hit played in the he has a big room downstairs called club arcada. I can't remember. But anyway, and then he's got the speak easy upstairs wall. It holds about two hundred people. It was it was a really fun fun gig. So I gotta ask you this. Because being the the music and band. Nerd, and you, and I were talking about some of the buddy guy stories have you have they let you in on some of the fog has stories rolling back in the day. Dude are are there. Is there anything you can share? No. See I'm older now for very specific stories now when I was younger it was telling me about muddy waters. Yeah. Yeah. Because I I would think with fog, particularly, you know, and like you, and I were talking, you know, I remember taking my hard earned money and going and buying fog album. Yeah. You know? And it's like man is ju-. It was just so much fun because it was such rock and music, and you know, and we grew up with that. Yeah. When you and you've had way more experience with it than here. But when you talk to these people and their relating something to you that that to them was just this was what happened to me on Tuesday. Right. And to you. It was like I was I did get to do a record with Mitch Mitchell. The drummer foul my gosh Hendricks, and we got to be really good friends. And and we're sitting around one day talking, and he starts talking about he had this mini-bike bike one time when he was living in upstate New York. And he had this mini bike. And he keeps telling the story. I'm like when Mitch when when was it? So he says us like sixty nine hundred sixty nine. Mike. You were living up there to to play Woodstock, right? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We did that to him. The story was was significant factor that nothing to do with Woodstock. I'm like, okay. Yeah. And you know, back in the day to it's like, you know, fog hat you see him on every TV show. Yeah. You know, like cream all those things. Well, and even you know, the old guitar player magazine's and all that stuff. They would always be on the cover. And so, yeah, I I'm sure that Roger in particular in probably Brian also have a few good choice story. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. From the road that are maybe kind of spinal tap ish. Could be could be could be. But now everybody's mellowed out. Right. I don't think it's kinda. When we talked about buddy being Eighty-three he has mellowed out. So I don't think you're allowed to mellow out in in buddy, certainly hasn't. No, you know, anytime you go see him in concert, and and like you, and I were talking and you got to live it playing with him for all those years. But I mean, he's such a touchstone. A thread to many of the greatest blues people in the world. Yeah. You know, like, muddy waters, and and you know, junior wells that he had all those albums with. I mean, all those guys you can go all the way back to sun house with buddy. And then come all the way up through Hendrix. Stephen, Yvonne, Clapton, Jeff Beck. And I mean, there's not there. I would put him in small group of people that electric guitar wouldn't be what it is. Without totally agree. Well, and you were talking about the train story to wear you know, when he was taking the train. Yeah. You know, and and could have gotten off at Memphis ended up waiting until you might have changed. It might have changed everything, you know, one of the interesting buddy stories that I thought that that he's told an in concert before was where Jimmy Hendricks would come and see him in concert and just trying to learn guitar licks. There's that really cool footage. I don't know if you've seen it of Hendrik sitting in the front rows. I have seen that at a buddy gig. Yeah, I think it was at the generation. I think I saw that after buddy had told the story live concert. Yeah. And so it's like going. Oh, well, there it is. He was telling the truth. Yeah. Obviously, buddy. Because he gets during the show, and you know, it from playing with him tour. He'll play all these different styles. It's like, oh, you want to hear some BB king go. Here's some Jimi Hendrix. Here you go and he can play at all. And if you close your eyes, you would think well, that's that artist. Right. Right. Especially the he he he kills me playing. He can play John Lee Hooker and sound just like you. And I think, you know, and and you're such an incredible blues guitarist, but jolly Hooker. I think is one of the hardest ones. Yeah. Because he is not always on rhythm. He's always on John Lee Hooker. Exactly. But I don't know what beat was playing in his head. I don't know either. But it's not the regular this not three four four four two four. I don't know. I heard I heard the second hand I didn't hear it from John himself. The heard somebody was asking him about his time. And and he said, no, I I could I could play twelve bar if I wanted to he said that's not what I'm trying to do. And basically saying I'm doing this on purpose. And it works because I think it's one of those things as we know from the great blues musicians, even you know, like Robert Johnson would try and have their own style their own chords. Yeah. So that nobody could copy exactly. And I think that's what John Lee Hooker did probably one of the best guarantees because you try and play it. And it's like I automatically want to put it into a standard rhythm just think about every every play the unit talk about every musician that you're not talking about had that unique. They all I mean, BB king didn't sound like anybody else. A lot of people tried to sound like math. Oh, yeah. BB king was BB king and buddies the same way like Jimmy Reed. And I still love it. And I was raised listening to Jimmy Reed. But it's hard to play it in that different like slack time. Yeah. Yeah. And it's almost kinda loping and John Lee Hooker. I think was one of the best in the world at it. I think so he's one of my favorites. Yeah. Mine too. But you know, it's so cool that you as as a guitars have gotten to play with with so many of these people, you know, throughout your career, I've been blessed, and and obviously. Doing your solo work and everything. And now you're kind of in. I hate to throw this at you. But you kind of in a supergroup now, I am it's crazy and. I'm in the twilight. Wait a minute. Until you get him your eighties like, buddy. Yeah. But but I mean, it's a supergroup with the with the musicians you have in. The Scott yourself included. That's you know, it's like if I was putting together like a band to do this kind of music that's pretty ideal setting with, you know, pulling from fog hat, and pulling you from your buddy guy years is like what a great, you know. It's a lot of fun and everybody gets Alami. We're friends, right? That's the best part about it is if you couldn't have like fabricated it I've been in some situations. Couldn't have been a boy band. No. I've been in a couple of situations where I've been put into. Groups right trying to make something work. And you know, if you're not getting along, it's it's like a blind date. You know, you you can you know before the salads. Oh. Well, here's something you're are going to enjoy. We're gonna play gone dead train. You want to set this one up? Yeah. This was one that. I'd never heard before. It's a Randy Newman, composition and. I'm really proud of the way it turned out. But it was it was a new one for me. So a second. Let's do it right now. It's early and the agitators gone dead train..

"We were ju- I started I was a music director at a dinner theater in Saint Charles, annoy called pheasant, run dinner theatre, and we did a lot of great shows and they're started getting auditions and stuff as an actor. But I was in the little tiny bit wishing I was because when you're in the pit of musical night after night after night after show after show after show you're like, it's like watching the same movie over them. You can't really talk to anybody because it'd be quiet. This is living hell, right? So, but it's great job dinner theaters, Oklahoma, we did Oklahoma west, yes, vita, but the actress didn't do the waiting tables or anything. Okay. It was legit legit theater. It was like the sun times and the Chicago Tribune, and everybody would come down. I review the shows. They said, are Beata upstage the original. It was really great show really amazing chef. Right? And so. Anyway, see store in Saint Charles Illinois. Okay. And then, but I sort auditioning, sorry, back up to five or six. Seven. Eight years old. My mom and dad when we were all really little, how does it for commercials and stuff, which I thought that was odd. But so like a man came over and interviewed us one by one one. Second. If you're listening, I just a picture, right? Okay. Then. So that person came over and we talked and I started going downtown taking a dishes for like United Airlines that nothing happened to that. Then I started doing this doesn't run and did some acting in high school and college. And then I was like, it's so much more fun to be up there than in the pit. So I started, I'll just thinking just booking commercial after commercial to commercial commercial. And then I was like, well, this is all we get in Chicago are like we get commercial work. Movies don't come. Does you have ten thousand actors? Additionally, for one line. Malone's. Yes, exactly. Right. Exactly. What was I addition? Very bad while you were sleeping. Oh yes. Like worse nineteen. Maybe that's right. Heroin here. Yeah. Yeah. And so did that. And then so all the actors and the friends of mine started booking stuff. I was like, let me. So I started doing that and city or anything. I did the training program in second city for a couple of years, but it never performed on stage. Right. So so that happened, I'm catching catching you. Okay, good. And get to Los Angeles. Then I decided I'm just going to do it on twenty four years old, right? If I don't look back, I'm young enough. It doesn't work out and come back to this job. Right? And so Anna clumps gives on veep in fiddler on the roof if isn't run dinner theatre okay. At the same. She was also an anti right after my girl. Remember that movie my girl with so that she did that and came because she lives Chicago, and I've been friends with her since she was nine years old right anyway. So she was in Chester who then became a regular later, came back to see. Right. MVP now and actually Katrina Lenk who just won the Tony this year. She's pheasant run. There's a lot of people from fezzet run that like, yeah, it was very cool anyway. So she I pack my car, say goodbye to Finland roof cast, and I moved to Beverly. Sunrise sunset. Yeah. And you all the way to California? Yeah. So knowing Are you at all. at all? So you go to Los Angeles near in commercials again? Right? A little bit of ammo. Yeah, because I had a demo reel with somebody commercials got a commercial agent right away, right because I was a bigger fish in smaller small in Chicago. So just kind of keep biggest commercial there. I had two spots on the commercial on the Super Bowl, right in one thousand nine hundred eighty s Doritos and Bud Light. Yeah, the Bud Light spot. I was shopping with my wife and there was a close rounder, and you're all these guys are inside the close rounder barbecuing and watching the game. And I was like, this is awesome about that one. And then the famous Derina here in the straight man voice was awesome. No, that was the straight man. Didn't know that was just fun. He's a straight who spun, you know, I always say if I didn't act, if you didn't say Jack, was Garin will, and grace you would just be the cookie next door neighbor. Right, Right? right. Sure. Sure. For comfort? Yes..
